I think the Pain Resonance-Nerf is fine. But it should not be a Scourge Hook-Perk anymore when you only get 4 uses of it anyway.
@Topic:
I really dont get who at BHVR loves Blight so much. Sure, there are some Buffs in this Update for some Killers, which is fine. I dont really get the Engravings-Nerf or the Pig Add On-Nerf and I welcome the Pinky Finger-Nerf.
However - how can any Add On be nerfed as long as Blight can keep his strong Add Ons? At the very least, Alchemist Ring, Compound 33 and Adrenaline Vial should be nerfed. Blighted Crow and Blighted Rat as well.
Like, I am totally for Pinky Finger getting nerfed, it is a disgusting Add Ons which requires 0 skill and the only reason why people dont complain more about it is because it belongs to Clown who you see once in a blue moon. But how can this get nerfed AGAIN and Blight keeps his stuff?
Exactly my point. Its fine that its a Scourge, but if you are forced to mix hooks, which is fine, then you should be able to reach a SH, so I would say: 6 Hooks go into Scourge-Hooks. Otherwise its not worth to mix hooks at all and you should swap to other perks.
Also: Pig received a buff, right? 10% more speed while crouched instead of 6%. They just call it a "nerf" like our Meme, right?
-
I can live with the Pain-Res change, HOWEVER then you should have more than 4 SH around the map to get it, when u mix hooks.
-
I dont get the Pain Resonance-Nerf. If u have 4 tokens for everybodys 1st hook, then it should be more hooks around the map become a Scourge Hook. Otherwise, you mixe your hooks but dont get a Scourge? That seems not finished.
-
What killer-buffs will be "insane". Explain it. The nerfed Pain Resonance? The nerfed Call of Brine? Some more seconds of Blindness-Status-Effect?
What exactly is so "insane"?
-
Depends on the situations.
-
Early game needs some buffs, his addons some kind of nerfs (especially Tombstone).
-
@Phasmamain said:
I like the buffs but her most effective playstyle is still 3 genning due to the strength of COB and Overcharge.
She has more chase potential now though which is nice
Dont worry. Call of Brine will get "Hex:Ruined", you know.

Suicide on hook is your friend.
-
If a Killer is camping, there are multiple solutions:
1.) What killer is camping? Is it a Hillbilly/Bubba, Pyramid-Head? = DO GENS
2.) If its a normal M1-Killer like Trapper, go in with 2 survivors. One takes a hit, the other unhooks.
3.) Reassurance
4.) Kinship (no one plays it, try it out with your mates!)
The only issue I can see: Grabs.
If the devs would remove the grabs at the hook, it would help a lot against camping. Besides this, there is nothing to do.

One thing you need to understand:
Otz is from Spain, right? So Europe. In Europe, the survivors in the evening are much weaker than in the daytime. In the evening, you will win most of your matches. If you want to face real opponents, you need the daytime. But then, sometimes you feel completely helpless.
No surprise, in the evening there are so many survivor-players online. I watch the Streamer Zeb89. Yesterday evening, he faced a guy with 100hours in the survivor-team, while he has 10.000h.
This wont happen in the daytime, when you face really good SWFs every game, because in the daytime you wont find as many survivors as in the evening, so MMR matches you with the elite as well.
Winning without tunneling in the evening is much easier than in the daytime!
Here are two videos daytime vs. nighttime of a friend of mine (console-player):
Daytime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpUbK9HQPc0
Nighttime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAkUjCLriN8&t=752s
If you watch them, take a look what the SURVIVORS are doing, not the killer. Ignore the Killer-Gameplay, just observe the movements and the teamwork of the Survivor-Teams.

What do you disagree with?
With the Otz-Propaganda. New Video = here is a post about Otz did this and that. Commercial at its best. I dont say he is right or wrong but I will say I absolutely dont like the commercial for players "God of the game".
-
@philward1953 said:
This is EXTREMELY telling in regards to the community's perception on tunneling on BOTH sides.
While Otz obviously isn't an "average" DBD player, I think he is still comparable enough to be an efficient look at the player base.
Also, for further reading, Otz says he played around 60 games, with different killers, mostly using non-meta perks/addons. He also set a rule that prevented him from hooking a survivor twice in a row, which fully prevents him from tunneling.
- His 80% win rate is mostly indicative of his own skill, but this does have some weight when it comes to showing how killers do not have to tunnel EVERY game, specifically right off the bat at 5/4 gens. It's not like killers get sh*t-stomped if they don't tunnel for every game. Sometimes, it is a skill issue, and not the fault of the survivors if a killer is put into a position where they must tunnel to get ahead. There is a time and a place for tunneling, but its not like you'll 100% loose a 4k if you don't (at least in scenarios where a killer isn't at extreme risk like at 5 gens remaining and such).
- The fact that survivors still told him he "tunneled" after he specifically did not hook the same person two hooks in a row is absurd, and is something a chunk survivor player base needs to wake up to. If a killer does not go for, down, and hook a survivor who just got unhooked immediately, they did NOT tunnel. That is not what tunneling is, and it's insane that people think that what Otz did in a lot of scenarios is tunneling. I see the accusations of tunneling as sheer copium.
- As for people who want to be tunneled, that's fine, as some people just want chase interaction. Considering how boring gens are, I think that's understandable. I also don't think there's anything wrong with a killer giving what that survivor wants, or not. When a survivor begs to be tunneled and enter chase, its up to the killer to say yes or no, but the survivor can't turn around an sh*t on the killer for "tunneling" if they then go down. It's their fault they were the killer's next target.
- I have no thoughts on a team trying to prevent a killer from tunneling. Makes sense. ๐๏ธ
I mainly take issue with the first two points, as they poke holes in very prevalent opinions the community has. By "take issue" I don't mean I take issue with Otz's conclusions, I think they are apt based on his experiences, I mean I take issue with the opinions of the community.
Are you his media-assistent or why do you work like a trainee for him?

I honestly don't understand the nostalgia everyone has for old Freddy. It was an interesting but unsalvageable idea. Not being able to interact with survivors until putting them to sleep was a bad joke. The passive asleep gen speed penalty, combined with being nearly forced to miss a skill check to wake up obnoxiously dragged games on for too long, but even with this in place Freddy was still too weak to win. The unlimited aura reading on asleep survivors outside a certain range would be very unfair in today's DBD. All of these mechanics have no place in modern DBD.
Don't get me wrong: Freddy 100% needs to be looked at. The whole "choosing between snares and pallets" needs to go; the devs should find a way to make both basekit and then give him the biggest add-on pass they've ever given a killer, because he has literally 4 add-ons that are even useful but are boring as hell.
Name them: Paint Brush, Nancys Masterpiece, Nancys Sketch and if you want an Endgame-Build, you could use Black Box. Class Photo is ok, but if they remove the "You cannot cancel Dream Projection"-Downside, this addon would instantly be useful. Currently it only works on bad survivors. Everything else: PURE GARBAGE.

@appleas said:
Snares + Pallets basekit and an add on pass would be nice
If u stay in this Freddy-Version, just revert almost every nerf 2 years ago, especially the Slowdown for placing snares. How can Clown hold his far better bottle while walking 4,6m/s, but Freddy gets slowdowned to 4,0m/s for placing a trap, which
a) need to be placed before u can slowdown a survivor, while clown just throw at a survivor and it instantly works + they have a harder View
b) has the circumstance that a surv can only interact when asleep
c) needs 3sec to spawn AND work
d) is totally bugged on various maps. Every patch the snares are bugged. Atm its Lerys at the exit gate-goop, on Coldwinn at the Exit-Gate-Switches etc.
So yes: Snares + Pallets Basekit like Clowns Bottles, HUGE Addon-Pass and Revert some of the overnerfs 2,5years ago.

Game is an awful state for killers atm, gens are just done too quick and survivors are too efficient, you're pretty much pigeon holed into tunneling the weakest link as soon as the game starts. It's a complete dumpster fire.
Yeah but I think the issue is not 90sec per gen, the issues are too strong items and perks for Gen-Speedup.

It doesn't take that much to hit the soft cap. "High MMR" is just "everything above the soft cap" which is both ridiculously easy to get to and filled with a very wide range of skill levels.
Thats what I think too. Its kinda weird how different every round is. Sometimes I have nearly unbeatable SWFs, sometimes I have 12 hooks when 1 gen is done. Its kinda surreal.

@Tsulan said:
May i suggest you switch to survivor? I did and the game has become so much more relaxing.
Please give it a chance. Especially with the QoL changes, solo is so much less stressful than killer.
Survivor is clearly the chill-role in this game. If u want a Stress-Test, you should play killer.

Everybody plays at high MMR it seems ๐

@Sandt21 said:
We have dream pallets. I want dream totems, chests, and generators
And how would this help Freddy against a decent group of Survivors in the chase? Fake Breakable Doors, which survivors cannot pass fine, but fake Totems, Chest and Generators? This would be just meme.
I think the best new thing could be a 2nd dream state like in Inception. When you dont escape the Dreamworld in X seconds (lets say 60sec), you suffer from the "Deep Sleep" Status Effect.
In Deep Sleep, you are hindered by 5% and you cannot interact with Generators, Totems and Chests. This is something I could really see could become really nice for him. Also, Snares slow them down 20%, not only 15%.
So Deep Sleep is the big danger of the Dreamworld and so you want to leave, which means you have a little Basekit-Slowdown, because even good survivors need to interact with their Alarm Clocks.
-
Its cool to see so many people are complaining about Freddy. It has more or less Nurse-Level, but in the other direction (QoL/Buffs instead of Nerfs)
Maybe BHVR starts to listen here...
-
1.) Let him teleport to completed gens.
2.) Revert the Speed Penalty for placing Snares and reduce the time it takes to activate them
3.) Rework almost every single addon
4.) Give him Snares AND Pallets Basekit
5.) Cosmetics
6.) Own Chase-/Menu-Music
7.) Voice-Lines
8.) Robert Englund of course
-
There is 1 Buff Id like to see. Tbh its more a QoL:
Reduce the time from demanifest to manifest or manifest to demanifest by 0,5sec.

Sadako is mostly fine how she is.

I disagree,
If it's at the point of "oh just run these teachables that are behind a paywall", it means the issue is fundamental in nature.
People pay to play, and on top of it some are saying that killer should pay to stand a chance to win?
Saying that killers starting every games on their back foot is "normal" is exactly what fuels this issue further.
Increasing gen times would help tremendously balance this game now that gen regress perks have been nerfed into the ground.
I never said that. My point is: gen-times are not the problem, the early game, ENG-based, is the problem. If survs spawn together, its less problematic. You akways lose a gen at the start and I dont mind that.
If I had something to say, I would put in a short Corrupt Intervention Basekit (20sec would already enough).
-
Hopefully not. I expect a Perk-Overhaul, but I do not have hopes the meta will change in something better than we have right now.
Twins-Changes? Well, they talked about it 1 year ago in january 2022-Q&A (btw. THE LAST Q&A they did), since then nothing. I assume they dont change Twins and move on.
For me, Midchapters are BY FAR more interesting than chapters (exception: We get Jason and Vecna). I would love to see much more Killer-Adjustments, not just 1 killer gets 2 changes in a patch like SM gets now. A lot of killers have issues, bad or overpowered Addons, so obviously I dont know why they took so long to adjust addons...
-
@Spectralfx said:
Honestly, without increasing gen times there is now way killer stands a chance.
gen time right now is obnoxiously low, after like one little gen anywhere between 2-3 can pop its unbelievable. the best case scenario I've seen is 1 gen one down, that economy is unplayable for killer.
Is this surprising for you?
You start the match against 4 survivors. If u dont use Corrupt, they mostly spawn at a gen. If u are unlucky, they spawn at 3 different gens, so they start working the perfect way: Three Gens at the same time, so 90sec for 3 gens. You will find one of them and chase them, so its absolutely normal to lose 1-2 gens for your first hook. Deadlock saves 1 of the two being completed, but it only buys time.
To solve this early-game-advantage the survivors have, you want survivors to spawn together, unfortunately this offering is on survivor-side. But this has nothing to do with the gen-speed alone.
-
@Deathstroke said:
Gens go too fast and only way to somewhat control the match as killer is to tunnel/camp someone out or just defend 3 gen area. So gens should be increased im fine ds getting buff or tunneling overall nerfed someway but gens need to go slower.
Even as Killer-Main, I have to disagree. Gens are the most boring part of the survivor-gameplay. Increasing their time does not solve any issue. The much bigger issues are Toolboxes and a lot of Gen-Progression-Speed-Bonus-Perks like Prove Thyself etc.
I dont mind brown Toolboxes, I mind the green Commodious or the purple one, the BNPs, the Extra-Charge-Addons etc. These are more problematic than the actual gen-time.
Since I play the game (Artist-Chapter), It was always Gen-Regression vs. Second Chance-Perks. Always. And this will never change.

@Blueberry said:
OG Freddy was way more unique and interesting design. All he needed was some tweaks.
Current Freddy is just a copy paste of other killers powers with nothing unique about him or his playstyle. Very boring all around.
The main issue in the Dream Transition... survivors just camp the next pallet when they are tagged . His unique design however looked nice, but underpowered. He definitely would need some chase-ability to compensate.
The Tweaks would be necessary for sure. I kinda like the Dream Object-Idea, however, this should not work against decent SWFs, but only v. Noobs.
He kinda need some adjustments in the chase in this scenario. Pure M1 without a power doesnt work.

Nah, Tommy and Kimberly from Power Rangers and Rita as the killer would also save us!
No, no, no. Lord Zedd or nothing!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D9vfTusjyM -
In my opinion they should reduce the DLCs to 3 or even 2 per year and use the time more for balancing issues, cosmetics and Reworks of characters who are already in the game. There are a lot of killers who needs adjustments.
In terms of making Money, they could add a shop for perks and addons, more cosmetics, special effects (like other animations for cleaning your weapon after succeeding in hitting a survivor), other Background-Music etc.

Only Vecna and a Bundle with the Demo-DLC can save us ๐

+ Dream Projection and no more Snares/Pallets. Then adusting how it works out

How do you know that? Didnt they nearly lose the licence when they wanted to rework the map?
Because they could change him in the last patch (no more arrows in the loading animation, so the Quick-Teleport-Bug is gone) and most important Mandy told us in a Demo-Discussion that they can change him (Demo) whenever they want balance-wise even after losing the license. Same should go for all characters. Its logical.

I think a mixture of both versions is the way to go to catch both, the players who like the old + the players who like the new

I know gaming in general can be stressful, but playing killer in this game to me seems far more stressful than playing survivor. Did the devs purposely design it this way? I'd be curious to know the chances of a person playing killer developing white hair faster than someone who always plays survivor. Just a thought I had so I figured I start a discussion. I wanted to get a survivors perspective.
Killer is by far the more challenging role. You have to make several decisions like committing to a chase, stop it and go for another one, should i camp in this Situation, different killer-powers etc.
On survivorside u sit at the gen holding a button and press spacebar to vault or drop a pallet, thats it. Of course u need to decide how to loop, but apart from that, there isnt anything else.

Power: Dream Demon
Allows The Nightmare to pull Survivors into the Dream World.
Survivors who are awake do not see or hear The Nightmare.
Once targeted by The Nightmare's Power, Survivors enter the Dream Transition for 5 (not 7) seconds.
During the Dream Transition they can see The Nightmare intermittently.
When the Dream Transition has elapsed, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.
Once in the Dream World:
Survivors' Auras are revealed to The Nightmare whenever they are outside of his Terror Radius (16m like original Freddy)
Survivors suffer from Hindered by 5/10% OR Freddy walks with 4,7m/s while in chase (NEW idea - first killer with higher Base-Mobility). Old: 50% Action Speed Penalty. Not sure about this part.
To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find other non-sleeping Survivors to perform a Wake-up action or interact with their Alarm Clocks. Failed skill-checks do not wake u up.
Special Ability: Dream Projection
- like now, maybe faster channeling
Addons: keep Red Paint Brush, Class Photo, Nancys Masterpiece/Sketch as they are, change the others to his Dream Transition (old Pill Bottle, faster Transition like earlier etc.).
We dont need Snares or Fake Pallets when we inteoduce Hindered OR Speedy Freddy, therefore NO Action-Speed-Penalty.
Of course we get the passive power of seeing the Auras outside of the TR like before.
