Agreed on all fronts.
Can you explain how do you agree that Dead Man's Switch + Pain of Resonance should be basekit?

Because we can ask the survivors. "4-man?" and they'd answer "Naw, all solos." On Playstation you can even check if they're playing together in a party, and often times I do see 2-3 man SWF. The 4-mans, or what blatantly seem like them, are usually on PC against me, so I can't know 100%, but 99% anytime I suspect they're a SWF, they are and they win easy.
Ask survivors? No. But at least stream and show videos of consecutive matches of that person playing solo survivor, without cherry picked matches. It's not hard to stream.

That isnt the topic at hand. I also explained why there is a bunch of issues with that and I cba to repeat myself.
Topic was not all killers are viable at the highest level, and most of the roster will struggle verse solos that are at the highest level. Especially when certain maps, perks and tile setups are added.
Agree or disagree I dont really care, we have very different opinions on most matters and the fact you think DH is fine just makes me care about your opinion less especially when talking about weaker killers.
Maybe after the DH distance change they will do better but I cant say till that happens.
The topic at hand was that a lot of things on the killer side get nerfed, some that should be nerfed, and others that were overkill, like I also mentioned on my first post here.
They could even remove dead hard, and some killers would still struggle against SWF. One perk is not the problem. The problem is a lot of killers being underwhelming because if they get buffed to compete with SWF they just destroy most solos.
But since you think solos are at the same advantage as SWF, ofc none of this will make sense to you.

So just because someone isnt up to your expectation they shouldn't play? How about let people play what they want? If he has fun even if hes not amazing with thousands of hours does it matter? No.
And your first reply to me. But I'm done replying, my point still stands that most killers even against solos struggle at the highest level, either you agree or you don't.
Where did I say you shouldn't play? I was talking about myself, not your friend, because I value my own time.
Everyone is free to play, but if you're gonna say that you escape 70%+ of your solo Q matches, when that is not the general opinion, I think you should show proof of it.

I never said I didnt use meta, I said I always used 2 perks and the others was swapped in and out. And I explained youd never be happy with anything I gave you as proof as it doesnt suit you.
And solo is fine when you're high mmr unless you get miss placed or have people rage quit, none of which will change by add perks etc. Base kit for solos.
And yes you can be casual with many thousands of hours, I have a friend who plays this game all the time and has thousands of hours and he still struggles to loop, mindgame or play at a higher level. Hours doesnt mean skill.
And your first reply was asking for stats to where most killers struggle at the highest level as if it's not obvious.
You have your opinion and I have mine.
You mentioned using 2 perks that aren't meta.
And saying you don't provide proof because no one would be happy with it, it's just a lazy excuse. You yourself said you didn't have recordings of your matches, we also asked you for you to stream your game so we can learn how to get that 70%+ escape as solo players.
And no, solo Q is not fine. For all the reasons that have been mentioned on these forums for years now.
If I still struggled to loop at 5k+ hours, I wouldnt be playing. I'd waste my time on something I'm actually good at. Hours can mean skill yes, that's why people would rather have someone with thousands of hours on their team instead of the 15 hours random dwight/meg.
My first post wasnt that, but I'll quote the one you missed:

Because I consider someone who plays lets say Trapper on a complete different game than someone who plays Nurse, the same way I consider people who play Solo playing a different game than people who play SWF, but the thread was about killers in general, which again, like even you said, it's not reasonable because there's a really big power difference between below average killers and top ones.
I'm all for buffing below average killers, but saying killer in general is awful and only gets nerfed and I cant get kills it's just not realistic.

Oh look now only hours matter? Been playing since the console release if you must know.
But a quick skim of your discussions and comments I see you think DH is fine, wake up can be meta, all killers are viable etc.
Funny how quickly you get offended though considering you just always call me a liar and void my opinions. But if you truly think all those basic attack killers have a chance on alot of the maps or even in alot of tiles against highly skilled survivors you clearly arent versing the most experienced players, even more so when DH is free distance and mistake correcting perk.
When I said wake up can be meta I was joking, because I main Quentin as a survivor. I'm sorry that it was not understandable for you.
And I never said all killers are viable, if you read my first posts on here, you'd see I even made a distinction between killers like trapper and nurse . But cherry picking is better for your "solo q is fine" agenda.
When you say you escape 70% of your solo q matches without meta perks, yes, I will call you a liar, specially when you refuse to provide proof.
No one at 5k+ hours is a casual. Someone disagreeing with you doesnt make them a casual.

Yeah totally not believable that alot of killers struggle at high mmr just simply due to them not having the ability to down quickly and easily. Theres a reason why blight and nurse are so common, unless you're really going to pretend all the killers are viable...
Probably a casual who goes down at all the safe/god pallets.

So, if I'm keeping track of this: there's no way a top tier Nurse can get beat, but if someone offers video evidence of it being possible, it's not worth watching? Or is the level of play in a public match somehow higher?
Demolished is not the same as being beaten. Demolished implies she had no way of winning.

Totally agree. I cant even get a brown useless addon with 500 bp. Might as well not give me anything at all if it's just 500.

it already got nerfed for this exact reason. you can't deny that devs nerf perks and addons for being too common. that's why they used that argument because it came from the devs themselves when nerfing a lot of things ruin being the most noticeable one. but this isn't the reason the perk should be nerfed dh is literally the most stupidly designed perk in the game and it had stayed so for far too long it's really the time for this perk to be looked at.
No, Ruin got nerfed because new players couldnt hit skill checks.

In my games none is playing "solo"
Is 99% of the times swfs and honestly I'm fine with one kill playing this way than playing the game getting frustrated by 4 ds dh ub and boons. I'll get a kill anyway later on because gens are done and I've no other option than facecamp.
Even tho for you I'm not playing the game, I'm good at doing it, survivors do not care about my fun anyway
I stopped reading when you said you never go against solo players, and just gonna assume everything you stated afterwards is also just lies after lies.

@Sluzzy Complain about dead man's switch perk that promotes going for hooks but when they nerf it please don't cry about killer tunneling and camping.
Boil over was changed because it was ridiculously abusable on some maps. Devs needed to nerf it.
Deadhard is outdated cheap perk that needs a nerf and it seems like majority of the community agrees on that.
And like you said its also absurdly overused.
I don't think the majority of people want dead hard to be nerfed, just the majority of whiners on the forums, which is a loud minority.
-
Just because a perk is used a lot doesn't mean it should be nerfed.
80% of killers I go against use ruin, should ruin be nerfed? No.
-
Only people who get affected by basement Bubba are solo players. SWF with an IQ above 1 digit will just rush gens.
So you get tired of being outplayed by SWF, and you think the solution is to punish solos, making them want to only play SWF next time.

I'm playing at the beginning to catch up the survivor, then is up to them to throw the game or genrush and leave.
I'm just burned out from this stale meta of second chances that i feel the need to do it.
You shouldn't blame me but the devs instead for having the same meta for years and the same boring playstyle you can possibly have
Staying still is not playing the game.
And yes I do blame you. Because the only people who get penalized by campers are solo players, not SWF, and you do make that decision yourself.

But why does it have to stop?
A jump scare Myers on an indoor map is fun as hell. Even after countless hours. That's a moment where the game feels like a horror game.
A good example being horror movies. Watching it the first time can be scary, jumpscares can get you, second time? Not anymore.
This also goes for other horror games. Resident Evil can be scary the first few times you play the games, then you just get used to it. DBD is no difference.
And yes, I agree that scratch mirrors Myers can be scary, same with Rusty Shackles for Hag. But most things just aren't scary 99% of the time.

Nurse vs equal skiller survivors will get at most 2 kills. M1 killers vs equal skilled survivors will get at most 1 kill (with noed). Just watch any tournament.
Why would i waste my time watching tournaments when I can watch my own games instead?

What i mean is, if survivors hold shift+w while breaking line of sight, the nurse without double recharge will get demolished. Lery's is a great map for breaking line of sight.
Only way a nurse is ever getting demolished is if the person doesn't know how to play her. She is the best killer in the game for a reason, she is not getting demolished when the player actually knows how to play her.

Pick nurse, burn a lerys map offering and you will agree with me.
So you mean she is worse on a single map?
Lerys is just a bad map in general, just look at killers like Billy, they also suffer in it because it's not an open map.

Because there are 27 killers and you reached for the two best ones. That is what is called "outlier data" and does not represent data of the sample as a whole.
This is like saying a disease with a 99% fatality rate is not that deadly because 1% of them live.

Because thats a different type of "stress"? Like for example, when i´m in this situation, then i´m stressed:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5294A9D380S3/inked20220411135239-1-li.jpg
Because getting all other 3 survivors back up depends solely on myself. This is how survivor should feel (i mean the stress level in regard of "omg, we´re all gonna die").
Yes, I also get stressed when I have 3 team mates on the ground and the killer is going for me, because if I go down everyone is dead.
When it comes to "stress" from "scared from being hunted down", that stops after 5 hours.
-
It's a really fun perk to use. Unfortunately, the only upside of using it, never works because the killer knows you have it.

I am not sure citing the two strongest killers in the entire game that are well accepted to be broken by both sides is all that compelling an argument.
So you can cite below average killers but someone mentioning the strongest ones doesn't count? How does that work exactly?
-
@WesCravenFan said:
I think the problem is the disparity gap.
At low to mid MMR killers get 4ks ALL THE TIME.
Then at at top MMR killers get rekt with 0ks ALL THE TIME.
But according to the statistics, this is fine because it "averages" out, which is garbage. It should not be a total stompfest at both ends.
Can how show stats that prove that low MMR everyone gets 4ks and high MMR no one gets any kills?
Idk which MMR I'm at, but I do have thousands of hours so I'd like to believe I am not low, specially when I play crossplay off where everyone is way sweatier, and the nurses and blights there seem to be doing just fine.

Being in the same building with someone who wants to kill you isn´t stressful?
Why did you ignore the rest of my post? Seems odd.
-
If you want to beat efficient SWF, you will just destroy solos.
I completely agree that killers need to be more viable against SWF, but as someone who plays mostly solo, I don't want to have my games to get even worse just so killers have an easier time against SWF.
You can play however you like. Want to tunnel? Go ahead. Want to camp? Go ahead. But I feel like a lot of people who use these "strats" then come on here and say how survivor meta is OP, even complaining about DS and BT. These 2 perks are only "OP" when you tunnel and camp, otherwise it's like they're not even in play.
Unjust nerfs you mention:
No one asked for a Billy or POP nerf. The Freddy nerf was also, again, overkill. He only needed his slowdown addons changed so he couldn't stack them, everything else was fine.
Undying nerf was justified, so was Spirits and Pinky Finger. I have no comment on the other ones.
As for popular nerf requests: I have not seen anyone asking for a Pig nerf, besides her being able to be afk and still get kills. I main both Pig and Freddy when I play killer, and don't think a killer should get kills by being afk.
Blight and Nurse need their addons looked at, same with Hag, but that's about it.
I don't think you understand what the word Taboo means. 90% of these forums is talking about Killer viability.

@Tsulan said:

I might be wrong, but shouldn´t survivor be the stressful role? After all, someone wants to kill them and they have no way to "fight back".
"Stress" has nothing to do with "Scary".
For me killer is stressful not because I'm the one being hunted, but because I need to focus on 4 people at the same time and because I don't like being the center of attention against 4 other players.

I'm All Ears is one of my favorite killer perks, and is super strong on certain killers. I play a lot of PH, and on him I run it pretty much every time.
It's amazing on both Nurse, PH and even Deathslinger/Huntress. Even on killers which isn't that good, I think it somewhat still helps in mind games on certain loops.
-
I believe some games and roles just aren't for everyone. If you don't like a stressful role/game, you can just play something that is more of what you're looking for.

Killer: I'm All Ears

So I was never a fan of Bubba... until today. He has to be one of the strongest (if not the strongest) in terms of securing kills while getting a few laughs (and ALOT of salt). I'm more or less talking about Insidious Basement Bubba. It seems like a lot of SWF's don't like dealing with this type of Bubba because they tend to pile into the basement which results in maybe one getting out alive.
As Killers, do you play this build/ style and what are your thoughts?
I only play solo and I dont like basement insidious Bubba. Why would I like to be stuck on the hook unable to do anything?
I also dont find pressing m1 to repair all gens asap and doing nothing else whatsoever.

how is it a sexist mechanic?
if the developers said "kill all female characters, because females are inferior, and get bonus BP" THAT would be a sexist mechanic.
but you're worried about... a crazed lunatic who slaughters people with an axe's gender bias? oh no, she can't be sexist. murdering people in cold blood is fine, but she has to have no preference! everybody gets to have equal opportunities when being slaughtered mercilessly ❤️.
by the way, we already have character specific interactions with nemesis and Jill. he shouts "stars" when grabbing her.
i guess something similar with huntress would make players believe that sexism is okay.
Targeting someone based on gender isn't ok, it does not matter if they are a man or a woman.
There is a big difference between Nemesis saying "STARS" to Jill AND Chris, because they are part of special forces, than just targeting someone based on their identity (gender/race/etc).

Why would anyone want to play men against huntress if they knew they would just get targeted for it so the huntress players gets a few bonus?
because... it would be a game mechanic like any other? "why would anyone want to use balanced landing if the killer can just offer lerys?" ???
What is next? Killing people of certain races gives you more BP? Lmao
reaching for the stars, i see. i really dont get the point of this comparison. suggesting a mechanic that makes sense for a character and their backstory is the same thing as encouraging racism for literally zero reason to you?
There's a big difference between perks and gender. I'm sorry that maybe something as basic as that hasn't occurred to you, maybe you should go outside more into the real world.
By that logic, it makes sense for the character. Should racist characters, which there are some, get bonus for killing certain races? It's part of the lore, after all.
-
Because only kills count as skill, the same way only escapes count as skill. Why? Because hockey.
-
What do you not understand? Characters shouldn't be at an disadvantage because of gender. Why would anyone want to play men against huntress if they knew they would just get targeted for it so the huntress players gets a few bonus?
What is next? Killing people of certain races gives you more BP? Lmao
-
@cordonrouge said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2906166#Comment_2906166
it doesnt have to be a bonus, just an interaction. even non-balance related (someone suggested different moris).
but even if it was a bonus, what's the problem with that? we already have mechanics like that with the obsession, where you may want to single out a survivor. it's just that it's uninteresting and random. if im playing laurie and im against a michael, i want it to matter.
killers have agency and a will by the way, they're not just walking objects. they could have whatever reason to hate certain survivors more, hell, they could even be racist for all we know.
Being the obsession is mostly because of perks, not because of gender.
-
I miss that map, it wasn't as bad as people say it was. Most people are just bias about inside maps.
