Still viable, but like with other killers, you won't be able to play nice with him if you want to win.
-
Corrupt Intervention is overrated, but Infectious Fright is really good and you might want to slug more after the Ruin nerf.
-
With PWYF and Nemesis, he is actually not too bad, but without it, his chainsaw is near useless. Definitely needs base kit buffs and an add-on rework.
-
I think he is in a better spot than other killers, but he could still use some love.

Exactly, it's a PVP horror game, both sides are meant to have a pretty even shot at winning. It's impossible to balance a game like this around "in other horror games you die if you don't play flawlessly" because it's not an AI with patterns to learn and avoid, it's a player that should lose if your team is better than theirs, rather than coast off an ability that gives all the important stats in the game with no tradeoff; mobility, one hit downs, and chase potential.
If Billy gets a rework/add on pass/whatever they want to call it and doesn't come out a 110 killer, I'll be surprised.
Billy would be complete trash if he would have 110% speed.
-
BBQ, Pop, Surveillance and Nurse's Calling.
-
Kindred is probably the best out of these perks.
-
I won't be surprised if they add a recharge time on the chainsaw.
-
Or you could just spread out and do the other 4 gens which are unaffected by it.

13:40 minutes. Like i said, it is too much
All the gens were done in a little bit over 9 minutes. It really wasn't a too long match. And as someone else said, it should've been a 3 man escape if not for Ace's misplay.

"now nothing prevents the survivors from repairing the generators very, very quickly"
thanatophobia, dying light, pop goes the weasel. and new ruin as well if you use it with TOTH or maybe haunted ground. also YOU can prevent them by just giving them second objectives such as unhooking and healing. hit people off the gens.
gen speed is perfectly fine, maybe you are just bad at protecting the gens. killers dont need to have enough time to get a 4k. you get a 4k if you do extra good. other ways gen speeds are enough time to get average 2-3k and that's how it's supposed to be.
All these perks besides Pop are trash and not worth taking.
-
To be honest, Corrupt is worse than old Ruin, it doesn't slow down the repair speed, it only blocks 3 gens and forces the survivors to spread out to repair the other gens ( which is a bad thing ). Agaisnt good survivors, this perk is even more worthless than Ruin. And over half of the killers simply can't apply on over half of the maps, so this Ruin nerf shouldn't went live untill at least some maps were made smaller.
-
How it can be a buff when Ruin is very weak on its own and you need another perk with it to make it somewhat decent ?

I think the new Ruin is interesting but like everyone has said, Hexes don't last to the end game.
I'm not playing the PBT but I'm assuming the Survivors have a notification you're using Ruin so they go look for the totem and then because totems have horrible placements they get destroyed instantly, I frequently spawn on Hex totems despite the amazing line of sight check that ALWAYS WORKS. This is because the old maps were not designed for totems while new maps like Hawkins were created with totems in mind so it was easier to find good spots. I haven't been to the reworked Lery's so I am assuming the new totem spawns are amazing and fun, if not then my previous statement is false.
If all possible totem spots were covered with leaves or boxes and then Survivors had to move that object to find if a totem is there or not then it would take longer because
1---they're wasting their time interacting with a fake spot
2---the amount of fake spots is the strength and outweighs the obvious locations which BHVR can't get away from so this is a win for them 100%
I'm not saying Ruin shouldn't be a Hex totem but I am saying that no matter what the Devs say, totems are inherently flawed because of their inability to put them in spots that aren't super obvious and in direct line of sight of spawns and near Gens.
Survivors don't have a notification for Ruin, but they can find out that you have it if they let go of gen and see it sparking.
-
Clown is still probably worse.

I don’t think Mother Daughter Ring is that powerful especially because sounds are bugged currently. If I couldn’t see the scratch marks, sometimes I would’ve lost the survivor because they randomly gain Iron Will sometimes even when I have Stridor equipped.
I don’t think MDR should have a downside.
I dunno. It’s a decent add-on but I would rather use duration and power recovery speed add-ons.
I'm basing this for when the sounds are working normally. It deserves his downside when the sounds are actually working and it's very powerful together Yakuyoke Amulet. But I guess with the sound issues, Black Incense, Mint Rag and Iri Head are the top 3.

I'll take every of these killers over Black Incense Plague or MD Ring Spirit.

1 Black Incense
2 Mother Daughter Ring
3 Mint Rag/Iridescent Head.

Survivors cried about DS nerf because they die in 70% of the games, that's the official killrate in red ranks. And killers cry about ruin when they win in 70% of the games. It's not even comparable.
It's a 60% win rate for red ranks killers against survivors of all ranks. Devs admitted that only killer's rank is counted and the survivors ranks from his match aren't. Just yesterday I saw a red rank killer playing against a rank 15 survivor and again, these matches count for these stats too. So these stats are very misleading and don't justify survivors outcry and bias.
-
I remember how much people cried for DS and Balanced Landing nerfs. So I don't see why people can't cry for Ruin nerf.
-
Huntress Lullaby : no
Third Seal : only agaisnt solos.
-
I guess Plague with BBQ/IF, Deerstalker, PWYF, Nemesis, Black Incense and Vile Emetic will be a very good non Ruin build.
-
You will probably just get NOED and Mori nerfed faster that way.

How could you possibly make assumptions and a bunch of random guesses on what numbers should be tweaked without seeing the results of the Ruin change first? There's way too many overlapping things that need to be tested separately. Come on now dude lol
I make assumptions on games without Ruin or with Ruin getting cleansed early I saw. Most of these games end in max 5 minutes. Plus, if 80% of red rank killers use Ruin, that should be a big tell that something is wrong with the current gen times.

What doesn't feel too great is feeling like you have to run 1 perk no matter what because of how strong it is. Now I feel like I have 4 open perk slots instead of 3. I think that it's pretty dang absurd that a luck-based perk (random totem spawn that may or may not get destroyed instantly) was being used in 80% of games. That's just bad for the game. Every game I've ever played has reworked random chance based perks like this when they became meta and used in every match. This is just a solid change for the game.
It would be impossible for the devs to address the underlying issue of gen completion speed and gen rushing without nerfing Ruin first. They need data and playtesting to see how games go for those top tier players who felt they needed to run Ruin every match before they actually make any changes to the base gen completion speeds.
If killers are consistently getting stomped over the next few weeks, they will make a change. The Ruin nerf is a necessary nerf that needed to be made in order for game development to progress on generator changes in any meaningful way.
They should've nerf gens or at least toolboxes together with this Ruin nerf. They really don't need to wait more weeks for what ? For the game dying ?

Ruin nerf has been a long time coming. As in, since it was released people have been asking for a change.
Are you saying because The Resistance wasn't formed on the forums to start the Great Ruin Rebellion of 2019 that the nerf wasn't deserved?
It wasn't.
-
Apparently, Ruin was "overperforming", so devs thought it would be a good idea to nerf it.
-
I think we are gonna see more NOED from now on. Maybe Corrupt Intervention as well, but that perk is overrated as hell.
-
DS will kill any tunneling attempt anyway.
-
I see much more survivors cleansing lately, even in red ranks. I would say that the no cleanse meta is kinda gone, at least in my experience. Tho her deviousness and emblems could certainly use a buff.
-
Underrated killer : Plague. She can be very opressive in the right hands and with the right build, even more than other killers. I would rate her in top 5 personally.
Underrated survivor : I don't know how underrated she is, but I like Yui and her perks are really fun to use in certain builds.
-
Surveillance is better than both as a tracking perk.
-
No, because Unrelenting is a trash perk.
-
Why are people still complaining about Spirit ? Nobody plays her anymore because of the sounds bugs and because of her post phase lunge being also bugged.
-
She's not garbage, just unfun and frustrating to play as and not worth the time to master her.

Out of curiousity, what rank, platform, and region are you? The Nurses I saw so far, are actually quite solid, and none of them had NOED so far.
Red ranks, Europe, PC.
-
I started to see more Nurses lately. But they either get defeated pretty easily, either get carried by NOED.
-
Amanda's Letter. Because for an ultra rare, it's a joke of an add-on. I would remove the penalty and either increase the aura range, either add another benefit on top of the aura range.

Yeah so weak to be able to down someone on the other side of the map. Sheesh.
If a survivor gets hit by a hatchet when he is on the other side of the map, it's his fault. Plus, long range hatchets are very unreliable and map dependent, you're not gonna do them when running Iri Head alone.
-
Instant heals deserved the nerfs and they are still powerful, especially the purple one. Most of the purple and red add-ons for killers are actually really mediocre.
-
Knowing the devs, they should nerf Iri Head into the ground pretty soon, even if it's actually kinda weak on its own and only powerful with Infantry Belt.

Please show me anything to substantiate this claim.
I am not disagreeing with you I would just like some evidence to support this. From the statistics released it appears the opposite. Again, I am not all knowing - I am just interpreting what is available to me in the best way I know. If I am wrong then I would love to be educated on how else to interpret them!
I think it was confirmed that these stats include red ranks killers playing against green and purple ranks survivors, which happens quite often in my experience. Plus, the stats aren't including the skill level of the survivors or killers, which is the biggest reason for why stats don't matter too much. If we are going by stats, then Nurse is the weakest killer in the game.
-
She is map dependent and even a little bit add-on dependent, but I still would say that she's top tier together with Spirit, Billy and Hag. Is she's still the best ? Depends on what map you get and how hard Dedicated Servers cuck you.
-
What you described there doesn't look like the strongest killer to me.
-
Fixing "God" windows would buff all killers, but especially Huntress, because she's the only killer who can get looped for the entire match around these buildings. She's very mediocre right now because of the very bad map design, but somehow, people still consider her a top 5 killer.
-
Trapper is very bad without his best add-ons, he loses a lot of time for a power that is very easily countered.
-
She is fine for me. Especially in the last 2 matches I didn't see any problem with her Vile or Corrupt Purge.
-
I feel that even console Nurse isn't weaker than Bubba, Legion or Clown. Huntress and Plague should swap in my opinion. Plague can be really opressive with certain builds, while Huntress is a slow killer without mobility and there are a lot of buildings ( which are legit infinites for her ), jungle gyms and loops which she can't contest. Trapper is really bad without his best add-ons, so he should be lower too. And Clown is weaker than Doctor.
-
Plague vs Legion :
Damaging survivors with Vile Purge doesn't give survivors a sprint burst, so she can down them pretty fast, especially with effectiveness and cooldown add-ons. Legion's Frenzy gives survivors Sprint Burst and Borrowed Time and Legion literally "D-Strikes" himself everytime he uses his power, so it's impossible for him to get a quick down.
Plague counters medkits, healing and stealth perks. Legion doesn't.
Plague has much, much better add-ons than Legion.
Plague can force survivors to cleanse with the right build and play style, which in turn will give her a very strong chase power, which Legion will never get.
Both have kinda bad perk synergy, however, Plague gets more benefits out of PWYF and Nemesis combo than Legion does.
But if you consider pipping a win, then yes, Legion is better at pipping than Plague, actually, he is probably better at pipping than everyone else. But in terms of effectiveness at getting kills, Plague is better.
