As of today, these issues (or at least a vast majority of them) should be resolved.
Please only post further information on this thread if you're having the issues after updating to 5.3.1 - thank you.

I already sent it. Do you need more? Should I ask friends or today try simulate situation?
yes please, it needs to be the last match played as well - so when you didn't get the heal correctly, the logs from that match.

Sadly there is not :(

Regardless, the overall strength of the perk WAS affected by this change, was it not?
only if you had bad ping as a killer.

Wouldn't this imply that it's going to be re-enabled? Or am I missing something?
it does, and that's the part that I will have information on shortly.

That's like saying the pallet validation change wasn't a buff to Survivors.
It's still a buff the perk really didn't need.
I'd disagree, a buff would be making a change to the perk, this is making the perk work as intended.
-
Hopefully I will be able to get some news on this for you shortly.

I guess this is to fix the issues where Dead Hard was not working properly?
Not really a buff, but quality of life if I understand it right.
Kind of yes, pretty much so that the perk works as it should and should prevent the times when you're "exhausted on the ground" even though your perk worked, but the killers ping was higher.
-
It's not changing the perk itself, just changing how the detection works - previously it was all based on the killers ping, now it's server sided.
-
There is indeed a bugfix patch planned for today! :)
-
We have no information on when cross progression will be released between Steam & Switch, we're still ironing out issues with it. We have no confirmation if/when cross progression will happen on any other platforms.
-
We really need logs on this please, whilst I appreciate the comments showing how many people are affected by it - logs would be incredibly helpful.
-
"fake pumpkins" - what did you use to fake it??
-
The names will be changing to generic names for all of the perks (whether you own the DLC or not) - this is to make it less confusing for players old and new. The icons should remain the same if you own the DLC as well as the written text. Waiting for clarification on a few things and then I'll update the FAQ with all the information.

Happy Forum Birthday!

EGC is to help end the match not help you get more kills.
Exactly this, it's not there to help either side - just as a means to end the match to prevent hostage taking situations.
-
If anyone experiences this, can you please upload your game logs here? Thank you
1. Press Windows Key + R to bring up "Run".
2. Type this in the "Run" prompt: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs
3. The file called "DeadByDaylight.log" is your log file. Please attach it in your reply.

If you believe you've encountered a bug please report on the bug report sub section of the forum: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
In this circumstance though I do not believe this is an actual bug, as what tends to happen is that by the time the survivors feet are on the ground they're technically in stage 2 of the hook phase as the animation had already started. But please feel free to make a bug report about it, and it can be looked into.

Discussion title says it all.
Sometimes it's nice to reflect on the specifics on the Challenge.
I tend to select a challenge and then forget what it is after starting. ADHD causes short term goldfish memory sometimes, and I can't recall if I selected a different one than I settled on, got distracted and didn't select it, or perhaps I misread it on accident and can't review the specifics of the challenge.
ie:
"Oh 25 seconds, I thought it said 15 seconds"
"Oh this is a 'Killer Glyph Challenge', that's why it's not showing up"
"In a SINGLE match, not accumulatively over several games!"
"Oh, I thought I selected the challenge but since I didn't I will ignore trying to achieve it until this session ends"
I feel you on this, very similar with me. I put the challenge on and by the time the game starts I've completely forgotten what challenge it is unless I write it down - my memory for things like that is truly awful. I do think this would be a nice QoL thing.

You will probably earn more money compared to someone living in Russia.
Here is something which might explain it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Mac_Index
The Big Mac Index shows how much a Big Mac is worth in different countries. You can use a Big Mac, because it is a standardized product, so every Big Mac will be the same.
As you can see, the difference between Israel (5,35 Dollars) and Russia (1,81 Dollars) is quite huge, around 3 times as much. This is because the general income in Israel is higher than in Russia, so you will find things cheaper in Russia.
E.g. I was in Australia 3 years ago and I was shocked that I had to pay quite a huge amount of money for a Sandwich, a Pepsi and a big bottle of water at a 7-Eleven. When I talked to one of the Australians I met, they told me that their minimum wage was quite high, way higher than Germany. So Australians earn more money, so their things are more expensive. But for me, who was used to German prices, it looked overprized.
And the same is with your ACs. You can basically swap the Big Mac with Auric Cells and you have your answer.
@dean1234 please refer to this post, it answers all your questions with regards to regional pricing very well.

Killers have a huge advantage over survivors. Being able to camp entire matches, running faster then survivors now which cant even vault over a window frame more then a couple times even tho killers can be as quick as us w a simple perk twist. 90 percent of killers are aura perked out to where playing is impossible for a survivor. U dare to use a party streamer or cake cuz a killer will just eat it up.
I am so happy we got boon totems.
Please dont nerf them or take them away. Its really getting impossible playing against the toxic killers in this community. I was honestly going to quit playing altogether but now ill try to stick w it.
First of all, the killer is supposed to be stronger than the survivors, they're supposed to move faster - it's one killer against 4 survivors. If the killer is focusing on one survivor, the other survivors can just get the gens done.
Aura reading perks are so useful to a killer - perks like BBQ discourage camping, by giving the killer the locations of other survivors, so they can immediately begin pressurising the map and allow the other survivors to make a save.
I do suggest playing both sides in this game, I find players who do that have a lot more understanding about the frustrations that both sides feel.

Where did camping come into this im talking about survivors standing in the only spot a killer can hook from
And as the killer you can then just hit the survivor and hook the one you're carrying. You've also got 2 survivors (minimum) not working on Gens, and another injured survivor.

No I have had crossplay on and off got the screen both times
were you in a lobby with everyone on your own platform when you didn't have the infinite load?

Right now there is an issue that's causing infinite loading screens, the error 500 is often when someone disconnects when they are stuck in that infinite loading screen, the game then progresses after the person has left - leading to the 500 code error.
-
I've had many interactions with Orion over the years, both on the forums and in messages. I am definitely sorry to see him go but I understand his reasoning. I hope he will be back as his insights into the game and the workings of it are interesting from my point of view.

😥😥😥😥😥

It's likely that this was to do with the recent bonus BP's - those take you over the 1 million BP cap

Don't worry, we won't ban without sufficient evidence!

Maybe. Thank u.
False alarm.
I think it's likely that this is from the Boon Totem, and have marked the thread accordingly. If you find that it's occurring without the Boon in play, please post back - I'll keep the thread open in case.

Honest question: What else could cause it besides the garbage coding? Nothing from players has changed unless you guys think it's a combination of perks, items, cosmetics, or characters we are equipping that is causing it. We merely do what we are supposed to do and ready up. The real question here is why you guys don't test this stuff thoroughly before releasing it. Instead, it seems like it's just easier to release the patch and let the consumer actively playtest, find the bugs and report and sift through people complaining like I am, and just say sorry and fix it later. It's ridiculous.
As with everything, it's completely different when testing something on an internal basis to having 100k plus players playing. I'm very sorry for the frustration that these issues are causing our players but I'm really trying to help find out as much information as possible here so that we can get a fix out for it.
-
I've just added an edit to the original post - are you playing with cross platform switched on or off?

The team is currently investigating an issue which is causing extraordinarily long / infinite loading screens. Since this bug happens sporadically, we would greatly appreciate any info that you could provide that may aid us in our investigation. We’re on the lookout for any trends that may contribute to this bug happening.
If you have had an infinite or exceptionally long loading screen, we would appreciate if you could let us know the following:
- When the issue occurred (loading into a lobby, loading into a match, etc.)
- How the loading was initiated (e.g. accepting an invite, matchmaking, etc.)
If necessary, a member of the development team may reach out privately to request a log.
Thank you for your assistance!
We're trying to find as much information as possible on this, the more information you can add to that thread to help us to narrow down the cause will be great - thank you for your help.

It’s happened to me once when I was in a group. We sat there for ages I eventually left and then rest of the group loaded in, I play on the Series X.
Was this loading into the match or into the lobby?

Can someone circumvent this by changing their region?
They can't now since the recent change because they need a payment method in that region - so it has to have a registered address/credit card etc.
It used to be done a lot (which is against all platforms ToS - I believe it's all platforms anyway, I am certain it's against Steam's ToS so pretty sure it's the same for others as well).
-
Regional pricing is set per Country, which is pretty standard for all game (including on Steam). It's pretty standard online practice to bring different regions in line with others.
-
The system is designed to be used when something can be abusable or cause massive game crashes - hence we disabled the Circle of Healing Perk and disabled the offerings to the maps so that it cannot be abused.
Think of the Killswitch as an emergency last step - it's not going to be used for everything. The Video Tape addon does not cause a game crash, nor can it be abused which is why we made the decision not to killswitch this addon.
I will forward the feedback on this to the team for further discussion if it becomes an issue.
-
IF they've not restarted their game, then yes the perk will still show for them (and in game). A restart needs to happen first.
-
From my understanding it the Winter Sweater that is reduced to 75% off and the others remain at the same price? If this is incorrect, please let me know.
-
A persons account is their responsibility - they are responsible for the security of it. If anything has been done that leads to a game ban, it still falls on the account holder.
That's all we're able to answer with regards to bans.
-
ngl I did wonder what woo was when I read this title...it took me a full minute to figure out it was Windows of Opportunity, I think I need more coffee this morning.
But back on topic, I think it's a pretty decent perk and the buff to it was pretty healthy, it's a useful perk. I only tend to run it when there's a new map to learn as I find it so helpful then, mainly cause I find aura's distracting.
-
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread!
-
Thanks for all the information on this, I'm sorry that you've having the crashes - it's something that has been brought to the team's attention.

I thought everything wasn't leaving until mid november?
yeah I meant from November, with the map being gone from November 17th. I wanted to clarify that the offerings will be completely removed from players inventories.

I was using mikaela and just press the R to heal myself and boom, crash all over my face, switch plataform btw, another mikaela crash in the same game and in the one before that game
were you using both Boon perks?

On PS5 I crashed twice. I blessed the totem, and during a chase I began to heal and it just froze. Then I got banned for 5 minutes.
Did you just have one boon perk?
