I like the DS nerf, I love the proposed OoO change. I never really use DS, so I doubt I'll suddenly start, but you never know.
OoO, on the other hand, I used to use a lot just to prove how broken it is, and I can say right now that if the proposed changes go live I'm replacing Kindred with OoO. That is such an amazing idea, I genuinely love it. Bond+OoO new personal meta.
Edit: Biggest bother with the OoO change is stealth killers, but... I mean, whattareyagonnado? It's just part of the game. Like the significantly worse version of going against a stealth killer without spine chill.
-
Not only will it tell you every survivor aura reading ability the killer has, it lets you counter it indirectly. I'm All Ears? Now you have the same wallhacks! BBQ? Give them false info and know if they're coming for you! Nurses Calling? You know when to pack up and run and when to finish healing! Literally any of the aura reading add-ons? Either the BBQ treatment, the I'm All Ears treatment, or both!
Seriously, it's a good perk. I hope this is the change it gets, because it is still powerful. As in, maybe still the most powerful aura reading perk in the game. Sure, you might have trials where you aren't the obsession and the killer has no survivor aura reading perks, but that's still OoO value.
-
Why? It only deactivates if you heal someone else or yourself, and if you have time to do either of those things then you really aren't getting tunneled. Just don't heal someone/yourself unless you're sure the killer isn't around.
-
On the off chance this isn't bait, it's because DS is ridiculously strong for a perk that gives you free heals, totems, saves and gen time, and OoO is ridiculously strong for an aura reading perk. And that's without going into swf teams abusing them. Especially OoO.
-
I could see it going up to 0.3 charges, or even 0.35. Any more than that and it might end up being Ruin 3.0
-
Are you thinking of switching?
-
Because it's strong and there's nothing stopping them. Most Nurses I've gone agaisnt recently have been running Ruin/Undying/Infectious Fright. Why? Because why not, that why.
-
It's a nice change. Still a little annoying that locker DS is a thing, but at the same time it's not that useful even if there's a generator nearby, because if someone's that kind of player then the killer can just bait them onto the gen to remove DS.
-
All Blindness or pseudo-blindness effects are very poorly designed. They royally screw over solo's and do almost nothing against SWF. That is not the kind of gameplay we need.
-
Honestly, it doesn't make a lot of sense given how little she gets to use Corrupt Purge and how much counterplay it has. They could just allow her to keep it but give her a slightly longer stun animation.
-
Everything you just mentioned were bad plays that shouldn't ever work out, but a broken perk allowed them to.
Now the definition of "high-risk" is "the killer might punish you for it" instead of "DS makes it safe."

to avoid being slugged and to start working on a gen as soon as killer is gone chasing the unhooker. So not much changed basically
The moment they start working on a gen, DS goes away. They have to hide in the locker for the whole 60 seconds or any killer with a brain will just punish them for it.

BRUH DS still works in the locker
For. What. Purpose?

They still can use a locker
For what? They can't use it for anything useful. No more running into a locker because the killer came close to the gen you got unhooked next to. No more unhook-into-locker.

I personally like that DS doesn't deactivate in a locker...it gives the killer a choice, plus it means that survivors who are aggressively tunnelled will have a chance, instead of just being slugged. The killer can wait it out, risk Head On, or choose to pressurise gens in that time instead of actively focusing one survivor.
I sort of agree. Now that survivors can't use a locker, DS and a nearby generator to screw the killer over as hard as they used to, it's not so bad.

You’re right.... because most of the playerbase is trash. It’s easy to win with most killers.
We have vastly differing trials.

I still raise the challenge....if these killers are so op....put your money where your mouth is, and pick them up. Then when you get promptly laughed out of your matches by survivors, come back to these forums and tell us how it went....
Yeah, so I played my first few Nurse trials in about 3 months yesterday, running zero slowdown perks, and I got a 2k (the first time I haven't 4k'd with Nurse in over a year of sporadic playing and no real practice) and 3 4k's. Didn't really sweat at all, because like it or not the only hard part about Nurse is learning her. Not playing her. And it didn't take me long to learn her.
And if I had been running something like Ruin/Undying, that would have easily been 4 4k's.
-
I hate Nurse. I hate facing Nurse. I hate that it's either a bad Nurse that will get held up as "ThIs iS wHy NuRsE iS bAlAnCeD" or a good Nurse that has no counterplay and pretty much wins by default.
-
At least most second chance perks can only be used once. But drastically extending a chase because you pushed a button? Multiple times? I ######### hate it more than anything else.
-
Myers isn't a very strong killer, unfortunately. He's mostly an m1 killer, after a lot of set up, who occasionally has a slightly longer lunge and instadowns. That, vs any decent team, is just never going to happen. No perk, playstyle or build can change that.
So just try to have fun with it. One of my favourite builds is a pseudo-T2 Myers. I run Sloppy, M&A, Nurses, and BBQ (entirely for the bloodpoints, it's very interchangeable. Corrupt would definitely be better). I get a T3 99'd, pop it, snowball as hard as I can to apply Sloppy to as many people as I can, and spend the rest of the trial as an m1 killer with Sloppy, Nurses calling and an 8m terror radius.
-
That making something difficult somehow makes it balanced.

slinger skill isn't as high as nurses and anyone who plays a decent amount of shooter games will be good at him.
besides i don't see slinger being OP he can barely stop gens from getting done all he has is a strong 1v1 chase power with slow movement speed.
Just because Slinger isn't as strong doesn't mean he's easier to play. But of course, the automatic reply is "BuT ShOoTeR pLaYeRs".
Seriously, a handful of trials to get blinks accurate and IF + whatever the top slowdown perks are will more than make up for the misses. You don't need to be a god Nurse to bulldoze most of the playerbase.
-
It's just what happens when the game is so insanely stressful. I'm always rank 1 and I'm mostly going against just awful teams. Not toxic, not BMing, just teams that are miserable as hell to deal with. Holding W, slamming gens, second chances left and right, it's just not fun. Little wonder so few people play killer at high ranks.
-
Ark. Had to quit because of the sheer toxicity and bullying. Not that DbD was much better at the time, but at least now it's mellowed out a bit.

Strange, considering i was playing shrouded ghostface and some one was actively using it to emote and teabag at me from across the map.
The perk lights up when it's active. Against Undetectable killers it basically becomes a superior Spine Chill with the trade-off of showing your aura.
-
I agree. This, and basekit combat straps, would be such anice change. Not perfect, not even a big buff, just... Nice.
-
I have never, ever felt shamed by any of those terms

I don't think we should consider cosmetics descriptions canon, there's a lot of weird stuff in there.
Still canon til the devs say otherwise.
-
Suzie isn't innocent. Part of her backstory is how she brutally mugged someone and left him for dead.
-
I've been casually watching DbD content since 2016. When I finally got proper, stable internet and a little money I started actually playing it as well. I don't know how much I already knew, how much I learned through playing, and how much I learned through watching proper DbD content after I started playing.
-
You're not allowed to say that in these forums. Everyone is supposed to pretend that Nurse is balanced because of her high skill floor, please ignore that Slinger is the same.
-
That is INSANELY cheap, my gods! That is a reason to bloody well riot! That's what, 2-3 months of 2 people working? From the ground up? Including whatever they can to inflate the price tag?
Yeah, she can be reworked. That's their job. And now we know it won't cost much at all because all they have to do is tweak her power, not rebuild an entire character form scratch.
-
It can go with the broken PC's and consoles of survivors mains that didn't get given hatch.
-
If the unhooked survivor can pick themselves up, they didn't really get tunneled. Because the killer left them alone. That's not to say I'm against the perk, it's just that it becomes more of an anti-snowball perk than an anti-tunnel perk.
-
How is Blight weak?
-
The Devs give zero feedback and are terrified (or incapable) of making small, quick changes if something doesn't pan out.

again post was made to poke fun at people, not to be serious and legitimate
I see no jokes or sarcasm, just a tacked-on edit to try and avoid blame.

The best way is probably to make healing something survivors actually need to do. Right now being injured just means you're a little easier to track, so killers don't get a lot of value from juggling or anti-healing builds if the survivors are "efficient." Adding a downside, like slower repair speeds or slower vaulting/pallet dropping, would force/allow the meta to shift.
-
Yeah, nitpicking aside as to why they don't work together, they should totally work together. You are literally healing someone. They increase their health because of your direct sacrifice of your own.
Edit: Anyone tried shoving an instaheal in someone and seeing if that counts?
-
Definitely both. Something about Blight's manic playstyle speaks to me.
-
Some variety in tiles would be nice, instead of variety in tile placement. I know basic maze and junk tiles like the back of my hand (not that I'm necessarily good at playing them), but a lot of the newer tiles still mess with me because they're just so rare.
-
That actually sounds like a great idea.
-
RULE 6: DON'T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB
Wait, that seems out of order...
-
To be fair, we really don't know the circumstances of a lot of the bans. And as we've seen, pretty much anything can potentially get you banned. Even what I am currently saying is grounds to ban me and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
-
"Shut up and cry me a river."
Seems like you're a bigger part of the problem if that's your response.
-
Umm... Huh? I don't feel like dbd encourages anyone to discriminate against me. Like, at all. If anything, the game has a wide cast of characters and plenty of room to grow.
If you want to talk about balancing issues, go talk about balancing issues. But don't try to equate them with real-world problems.
-
DbD is not going away any time soon, not unless something drastic happens. It has a revolving door of players ready to spend a few hundred hours pumping out money for chapters and cosmetics til they get bored and replaced.
-
She's mechanically easy as can be but requires you to do a lot of thinking. AKA the thing that most people don't want to do in this rather casual game about serial killers and survivors bullying each other.
-
The mentality that led to them secretly removing sounds from chases and only announcing it several months later via a 4th-year anniversary loading screen.
-
Legion relies purely on a basic m1 chase to down people. And even ignoring looping, that also means they get screwed over by holding W.
