It depends. I'd still like mid-chapters in place of DLC, but instead of adding new content they revamp/rebalance/bugfix the old.
However, it's not going to happen.
-
If you consider dying to be losing players faster than it gains them, then yes. It is. Basically since last October. Wonder why?
I don't think DbD is near the end, though, I think this will be a wake-up call for the absolute ######### m- I mean, the intelligent and lovely people that set the time frames and don't ever consider the playerbase or their employees.
-
Your advice for avoiding potd is basically to hold W. I wouldn't exactly call that counterplay. That's like calling on people to slam generators against a spirit.

In practice Distortion would be gone in a minute and a half.
I never said it would be a good idea.

That sounds like a whole lot of just give up. Cause he has hit me through windows, went through pallets with ease and everything.
His chainsaw has a longer hitbox than you would expect. That's why you don't mess around with a Bubba unless you can very clearly see they don't really know what they are doing. Run early, maybe try to get to a long-ish loop and play it, and after that it's pretty much downhill because he will be right behind you for the rest of the chase
-
Bubba got a pretty hefty buff a while back and now he's a very, very strong killer. And the best part - there's no good counterplay if the Bubba has Bamboozle.
I'm not kidding, playing windows is the only proper counter to Bubba, although a really good Bubba can play around windows, so even then it's not the greatest. Without being able to vault a window multiple times, though, all you can do is instantly drop pallets. And a good Bubba knows how to time his chainsaw to force you to instantly drop the pallet without even a single loop.
Basically, the counterplay to a good Bubba is to do everything in your power to not go down, because once you do you've left a giant deadzone for the next chase.
-
In theory, Distortion would override OoO. For example, the killer has BBQ, you aren't in a locker, but neither you nor the killer can see one another because Distortion prevented the aura reading.
-
I think Trapper has been the worst killer for a good, long while now. Every update is a nerf thanks to the super easy-to-see-through grass, his playstyle is the opposite of the meta, his base power is extremely weak and literally useless against hold-W, he just got a random nerf instead of the promised buff+nerf, and his add-ons aren't that great (except the bags, which are borderline required).
-
I think the UI is too spread out and too unaligned. The power/item icon is ridiculously big, but the cooldown bar is a lot harder to see. So are the bleed-out bars. And for some reason they decided to place the survivors and gens left at the top of the screen to further distract you from chases. However, I like the hook counter system (though I think the killers should count hooks, not hook states), and I could get used to the visual aspect of the UI, just not the current layout.
That's my thoughts.
-
Deep wounds is never supposed to down someone. It's there to give them a health state they have to heal before doing a generator.
-
I played some Trapper earlier and didn't notice any disarms, but at the same time I rarely get them in the first place because people just hold W.

If they fixed her issues with server ping and allowed her to consume fountains from anywhere that would go a long way.
If she could consume fountains from anywhere she would be stronger than Nurse. Her power is insane when she has it, survivors need a chance to split up so they don't lose by default.
-
She needs a few tweaks, sure, but mostly just to fix her robbed hits and centralise her guaranteed fountain.
-
Yes, because Demogorgon can curve and instadown and has completely independent map mobility.
-
Yes, and I've also been running Enduring a lot. Mostly because I have the excuse of "I was doing it a week ago anyway."
-
IW would be fine if not for the fact that you basically cannot track people because it removes all sound bar footsteps, which are themselves muted in a chase.

if all 4 survivors or even just 3 are using a VPN, it helps them, now that hit validation is enabled, it will look like they're close enough to hit, but they'll just rubber band forwards and basically get away for free
That has been the precise opposite of my experience.
-
And to think, all of this because the Devs didn't want scratchmarks spawning over grass.

Normally, I would agree, and I definitely don't think that personal attacks or anything of the sort is okay in any way, but at the same time emotions add context. I would rather someone not sound like a formal, emotionless robot when I'm getting feedback, and while throwing a tantrum isn't the answer, letting anger and frustration about being ignored and kept out of the loop shine through is absolutely warranted here.
Besides, they got the civilised feedback and did nothing with it because some big-shot executives wanted to stick to The Plan. Maybe now the higher-ups will start to understand that The Plan needs to be flexible.
-
I mean, I certainly wouldn't say no, but I don't think the Devs share that sentiment...
-
I don't see how your personal situation justifies ruining 4 other people's game and wasting their time.
-
So bully squads could just ban Nurse and Spirit? Yeah, not such a great idea. Even in a comp setting it would be bad, because those two are the only ones that can sometimes 1k.
-
I think the free frosty skins are great, so my $14 is going to a different battlepass.
-
It can go on the pile with Surveillance.

The game is not unplayable, come on now
A lot of people have been reporting motion sickness and/or headaches.

Not queen has always been a shining example honestly.
She is the reason I feel bad when I generalise the Devs. Her ability to damage control within the seemingly arbitrary parameters set for her is amazing

Yeah but there are better software out there and they've known about hackers for how many years now?
I think you misspelled "considerably more expensive for only slightly better results".
Seriously, there will always be hackers, and no software wil ever be good enough to deal with them without being so invasive it's insulting.
-
UI's are insanely easy to make, especially since the code is already there and it's mostly about replacing the assets and adjusting their screen co-ordinates.
Dealing with hackers is a completely different problem that is in no way comparable. It's not like they can just snap their fingers and suddenly their anti-cheat software works perfectly. It's not even a bhvr issue, this is how all multiplayer games are.
-
Its spawning an insane amount of pallets (20+) that are all very, very safe. It's so over the top that I genuinely do not think it is intended in any way.
-
This patch came with some rather positive things. The Twins didn't.
-
My favourite survivor is Zarina, because I like her backstory, her cosmetics and also the fact that so few people play her.
My main killer is Blight, because I hate that good old hold-W strat with a burning passion and also I like chaos.
-
Mangled got completely standardised across all add-ons, not just Huntress.
-
I suspect there are issues with the code. The balance of it seems perfectly fine, but current Open Handed has some strange interactions that likely need ironed out.
-
It's a map thing. Now Wraith on Blood Lodge or Ormond is actually kind of scary to go against.
-
Most people don't play that much, so it's to get them on the map in at least one of their 3-4 trials they play.
-
Bit of a side note, but is Zanshin even useful on indoor maps as Clown? I feel like the biggest reason to run it is to corral survivors, but... I mean, how? There's walls everywhere

I don't disagree. I'm not a fan of it, but I'm going to see what I can do with it scaled. I also gave feedback on it that it is too busy. :)
As did many, many other people several weeks ago. I think that's the biggest problem: it wasn't listened to.
-
Look, I'm normally all for testing out new stuff, but some things don't need tested. The animations I'm sitting on, I don't have much of an opinion except they make me laugh. Undying I'm also waiting on to see if Undying/Devour is going to be great or terrible. Clown I'm giving some space as well.
But it's a UI. You only need a look to see how it works. And this one covers a significant portion of the important part of your screen and draws your attention, instead of focusing the necessary info in one area, in a game where paying attention is key. It is so, so easy to understand why people don't like it, even though it's technically giving you more info than before. You don't need to wait and se show good or bad a UI is, it's not that complicated. It's like if they suddenly switched everyone's control inversion settings and locked them in place - after already trying to do that on the PTB and having almost everyone hate it.

Get downed in a cloud of Clown gas. Your survivor gets quite the work out. lmao
---
I've said my piece on the HUD. It is, in my opinion, the worst change to come to DbD ever. Even worse than the random Revving Engine-Horse sound added for no reason that one time. The game was basically unplayable for Survivors for that patch and this is worse.
Maybe this is all some cunning plan to even out the player ratio's...?

But even taking that into account, too many (not all...I won't even say most because I wouldn't claim to have delved super deep into the undercurrent of, at best, tepid vomit surface comments littered around these pages these days) posts and comments refuse to acknowledge any positives and just trash the devs and anyone who actually likes the HUD changes (for example I've talked with several players with very high end ADHD who find the new HUD makes their gameplay easier and more enjoyable). It then looks less like criticism, deserved or not, and more like ungrateful and entitled brats threatening to hold their breath because they specifically were not catered to. It definitely makes it harder to either sympathize or empathize with their POV. It then basically devolves into humans picking a side during a chimpanzee poo fight at a zoo when supporters try to voice their opinions too. Which makes it impossible for the devs to take anyone too seriously.
So instead they refuse to listen to literally anything and just do whatever the hell they want while throwing out token statement about listening to the community.
This is not even close to the first time this has happened, it's just one of the worst and most visible. The Devs do what the Devs want to do and don't listen to any feedback.
-
I think the biggest issues are that survivor looks janky as hell (the hits more than the animations), and also the UI changes were pushed through despite community feedback.
-

The forums are not necessarily a reflection of any majority though. And that is a part of the problem that people kinder and more patient than myself are trying to address and getting nowhere until someone smashes the "Can we get someone to address these underwear gnomes in their own terms here?" button.
The various forums are the only places to get feedback. The Devs heard the feedback. The Devs did nothing.
I think that's the biggest problem with this patch: all the positive changes were outweighed by the fact that community feedback on a UI update was almost completely ignored.
-
Yes, because cleansing totems in solo que is fun and easy and never goes wrong.
-
You can't be ungrateful for recieving something you didn't want or ask for, and that the significant majority of the community didn't like, want or ask for?
-
I want a UI that doesn't cover a good sized chunk of the important part of the screen, force my eyes to move all around the place, and actually follows basic geometric patterns pleasing to the human eye (aka make the damn elements line up.) Whether that's the old one or a new one, it doesn't matter.
But mostly it's the fact that everything is so spread out and covers part of the screen for no reason.
-
I love how this is in response to the same patch where Ruin/Undying got massively nerfed.

But you can slug. No need to pick them up right away. A particularly strong counter to it is infectious fright, especially if coupled with monitor and abuse.
Unbreakable.

Give it a tertiary effect in line with being calm, like a slight exhaustion recovery bonus.
