It's the killers job to kill. It's the survivors job to survive. If you get caught you failed at your job. Don't you think it ruins the game for killers when everyone survives?

You're saying this like I don't play both sides. It is the killers job to kill people via 3 hooks camping removes 2 of those hooks as does a mori. People like you moan when the survivors take a "shortcut" via a key, even though a key requires them to do a fair bit of their objective if they want more than 1 to escape. If it was a case of get found and you're out of the game then you would be dead immediately on the hook and wouldn't be expected to hang on a hook for 1 minute staring at the ######### killer repeatedly hitting you and then spend another minute mashing a key whilst looking at the ######### killer repeatedly hitting you to "punish the camper" which is a bullshit "counter play" made up by people who fall back on camping when things don't go their way.

I have lost games as a killer, everyone got out, didn't have a game that I felt wasn't fun because of that but again you're linking fun to winning(which is a pretty childish link to make) and not to the actual playing the game. A camper doesn't have fun standing still hitting the person they are camping they just get a massive hard on about ruining the game for someone else and get excited about what someone will say in the chat. Standing still isn't fun, nobody can claim it is. Same goes for survivor, being stuck on a hook isn't fun, that isn't "playing" a game. That's enduring a #########.

The time it takes someone to die on their first hook is pretty long. I'm pretty sure the killer standing there gives you even more time on the hook. You can finish 3-4 gens easy. Even if the other 3 don't finish all the remaining gens, that is still very punishing for the killer. 1k for 3 gens is not a fair trade. The survivors have all the tools needed to win. They don't always know how to use them. This is the problem with the game. Instead of learning what to do people beg for nerfs or more perks. This makes the experienced survivors OP.

    MPUK:

As for tunneling and camping. That doesn't drive people away nearly as much as imbalance. Look at the survivor que times and the killer que times? Tell me which one is in short supply? Killers bring moris to end a match quickly. Well what about survivors who bring tool boxes? People say tunneling/face camping is just to spread toxicity but what about all the survivors with flashlights who get in the killers face because they have BT+DS+Adren, then they teabag at every single pallet? As for a higher rank than 1. If a killer got to r1 by face camping that tells me this game is full of crappy survivors. You can thank the devs for constantly lowering the bar and letting these rookies prosper. Old Ruin kept those newbies out of red ranks. See what happens when you give out participation trophies.

Last, if you really played both sides this thread wouldn't trigger a response from you. You would already know face camping only works on inexperienced survivors.

I wouldn't know that at all as I have never camped/tunnelled anyone. I'm playing a game, I'm not going to play in a manner where I desperately seek any form of attention. I think a LOT of people who play killer forget that this is a game and come out with bollocks excuses like "That's what a killer would do though, prioritise the kill" well:

    1. You're not a killer, you're someone playing a game so stop talking bollocks.

    2. A killer wouldn't have to hook someone 3 times in order to please their master.

    3. People wouldn't be running around injured after coming off a hook and being fully healthy after someone gives them a few body rubs.

It is stupid excuses used by desperate players. The queue is longer for survivors, yes, you are correct and yet killers who can hop straight in to another game are happy to tunnel and mori someone out of the game within minutes because it makes them feel like they are good at the game and yet they are the first to cry about how short games are when they get beaten.

Your point about toolboxes? Oh no.... they're going to repair 10% of a gen 4 seconds quicker than what they could have done without it. That's so OP and definitely equivalent to an ebony mori.

Flashlights are there to be used by survivors, you getting triggered by someone clicking one at you or heaven forbid using it as intended is your problem, not a game problem. Same goes for teabagging, who ######### cares that someone is pressing crouch repeatedly?????

Old ruin promoted ######### killers to red ranks too. The devs have pretty much stated that when saying you will now level out at your correct rank rather than relying on ruin to support you. See I can spin the bollocks you post back on you? Yet you'll make excuses as to why it is ok for you to play like a prick and ruin games for people because that's what you want to do. You also don't get any longer on the hook when the killer stands there as you claimed earlier in your post. It is exactly the same unless you have camaraderie equipped.

Of course this thread triggers a response from me playing both sides. I have been repeatedly camped and tunnelled as a survivor and I don't camp or tunnel people when I am a killer. So why should I stay quiet about what a #########, desperate play it is? Your bias is showing Joshy.

People can play how they want but its a flaw in the games design. It ruins the fun for a lot of people and the devs need to make some big changes to fix it.

Just like how looping was a flaw in the games design, but overtime infinites got nerfed, pallets got reduced, pallet break times got increased, pallet vacuum went, now the remnants of infinites (the god loops) are getting fixed too and tiles are being changed so survivors cant change strong tiles together as much. Basically looping sucked the fun out of the game for a lot of killers and it has been gradully nerfed over time to lower the effectiveness of it. The same needs to happen with tunneling, DS alone isn’t enough, hell its still a perk which is equivalent to when killers had to bring Bamboozle for god loops.

Something does really need to be done. It ruins games. Even as a solo player when I have seen it done to someone until they are dead I have sometimes quit the game and taken the timeout just because I can't be arsed playing with someone that desperate and giving them points.

It does always make me laugh when "killer mains" claim it is the only way to win and make a load of excuses as to why it needs to be done. Same with moris. Yet they happily do it when no gens have been fixed and get someone out of the game. Changing Ruin gave them a new excuse, even though they were doing it before then too. I remember what killer replying in regards to the "thanks for tunnelling" message in post game chat "Well you wanted ruin nerfed", did I? Did I specifically ask for it? I don't recall doing so, yet i assume you're using it against every survivor who calls out you playing like a #########.

It's not the slurs or the insults that are a problem for me. Everyone who's played an online game has at some point gotten hate mail in their life, especially on COD with Xbox 360. It's the fact that they've been reported before for similar usage of those slurs and nothing seems to have come of it because they're still there doing the same crap. I didn't screenshot the part of that chat log, but one of them (paraphrasing), 'Go ahead and report, nothing will happen'. And though none of you said it but others have so I'll include it, I shouldn't have to mute/hide my endgame chat just because someone else wants to be as toxic as possible. I want to say gg to those who play well and meet new people who I can possibly play with later on whether as opponents or SWF's.

Already done my in-game report, I just simply submitted it through the forums too so they can actually see it.

This isn't quite the same but I played against a Wraith maybe 6 months ago who was clearly cheating at the game. Every time he came anywhere near, you would freeze and the game would only resume when you were down. It got to post game chat, 4kills of course and we commented on him cheating. He laughed and said "Use the in-game reporting, it doesn't do anything. I have been doing this for months and I have all the skins unlocked(hacked)". We didn't do the in-game reporting, we sent a ticket through the website. Checked his profile a few weeks later and he received a ban. The ticket system seems to work better than in-game reporting. It is just a lot more effort to do.

A 10 second heads up seems a little OP, but in general I really like your idea. It would be great if you just popped up on another hook if the killer is within like 8 meters or something, longer than 30 seconds.

Why OP? It just tells you where they are going it doesn't give them any other benefit. They still have to be healed etc when they come off. The 10 seconds is because if in your example it takes 20 seconds then stage 1 only has 30 seconds left, if they were patrolling nearby those 30 seconds could have taken time to accrue as he went out of distance for a second and then back in so they could be about to switch to phase 2 or 10 seconds off when they teleport. Those 10 seconds mean those people have a chance to get there and get you before phase 2.

They already lose points for being near the hook for so long. You have BT, DS, Deliverance, Adren, Kindred to help you with all of this. Killers that face camp only prosper if the survivors fall for it. That killer won't jack ######### for playing that way. Keep playing, rank up and you won't run into them after a certain point.

they wouldn’t be able to tell when someone is camping and when someone is chasing a survivor that’s trying to unhook in front of the killer. It would give survivors a free shot to juke a killer around someone hooked to have someone save them somewhere else. I don’t play swf but me and a bunch of randoms were able to unhook ppl being camped by a killer 3 times in one match today by luring him into hits. I know it don’t work as good with leatherface or noed or even billy but certain killers mean you have to give up on the save unfortunately

Eviljoshy- They do lose points already, yes, but what does that have to do with anything? They don't give a shith about their emblems and points. They just want to ruin someone's game and hopefully get some ######### in post game chat. They do it because they're hollow people and desperately crave any form of attention, good or bad. As for ranking up, please tell me how I can reach a higher rank than rank 1 where these mythical non-camping and non-tunnelling killers are! I would love to see that sometime. Ad for the "Dark Side" I play both sides already. I just don't feel the need to ever camp or tunnel because I'm not ######### at the game. Even in Endgame if you get hooked I will leave the hook. What difference does it make?

    Wolfgamer - Thanks very much.

Con_Inc - They can tell because their emblems only degrade when they are within range of the hook and no other survivors are about. Even if they couldn't tell what difference does it make? The person has used up an entire perk slot so just teleport them to a different hook anyway, that way it protects against tunnelling too. If the killer isn't a camping/tunnelling killer it shouldn't upset them in any way should it? Against those killers it will just be a waste of a perk slot.

The fact is camping and tunnelling is what pushes people away from the game. It actively discourages people from playing because what is the point in queueing up for 10mins to be out in 2-3mins? Killers complain that "games are too quick" when they lose but they have no issue with using a mori to get someone out of a game within 2 minutes after tunnelling them off a hook or camping them out of the game asap, do they? It is just standard killer players who only play that side being dicks.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Uhhhhh how about the other 3 survivors finish the gens and get out? That killer doesn't get any bloodpoints or ranks up.

Face camping is not a problem. Only the weak killers do it and the newbie survivors fall for it. Have you seen a popular streamer face camp someone unless they pissed them off?

Everyone always spouts this but it is bollocks. Yes, those gens get done and x number of people escape but the person(maybe even multiple people) who got camped had their game ruined. A game they potentially queued for 10mins+ for.

It is ######### behaviour by ######### players intent on ruining the game for someone. Saying everyone else should do gens and leave doesn't fix the fact that the person on the hook has had their game ruined and their time wasted.

I would like a perk where if the survivor is being camped for a number of seconds they get teleported to a different hook across the map, 10 seconds before they teleport the other survivors see the aura of the destination hook so they can be there ready to unhook them. Named something like "Now You See Me"

Yes they totally aren't saying that to cover their asses after not dealing with it for Y E A R S.

If it was intended that's why there are so many perks that are completely worthless in a SWF group, or the fact that there's no in-game mic system, or how we have had years of continual nerfs to survivors because SWF can abuse mechanics.

You're right, it was always intentional and not just hastily thrown together.

Not saying I want SWF gone, I just want it to be equal to that of regular, isolated survivors. That's what the game was always intended to be and what is/was balanced around.

It was intentional,it arrived around a month after launch. Loads of people moan about how slow the devs are to do anything,so do you really believe they threw SWF together in a few weeks?

What do the perks have to do with whether SWF was intended or not? Should they only have perks that cater to SWF??? That makes zero sense. There are solo players out there. A lot more than lost killers seem to think as I have been in a lot of lobbies where the killer moans about SWF but actually all of us respond saying weare solo players. Stop fixating on who is in your lobby and who they might be in contact with. You're probably wrong 80% of the time anyway.

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1214763#Comment_1214763

But is it more painfull than realizing that those 2 Claudettes dont come to unhook you, because they are to afraid to go in injured?

Also, as a solo survior, i played without self care, and had several games where your fellow surivors just dont heal you. you finish a gen, they run away, and go work on the next. And it became clear why they did that, when the killer came and made a go for the injured one, while they run away.

you cant put your thrust into random solo survivors, thats a lesson i learned over my time in this game, because a lot will sacrifice you for their advantage, and sometimes even for their amusement.

The attitude that I must come and unhook you when injured really pisses me off. If there are multiple people still in the game and I know the killer is with someone else. Fine, I'll take the risk but when it is 2 people left, one on hook, why the ######### would I come in injured?

Also, the self caring people are the ones who can keep taking hits to try and get you to wiggle out. Since I dropped self care for an exhaustion perk I have noticed I am a lot less willing to do that unless I am confident they can wiggle out because I can't just run after taking the hit and heal myself.

I have run the killer for 3 gens in solo play, killer given up, used a medpack to heal myself. Dived in front of someone being chased on their final hook so I can take a hit, then gone to the other survivors to get healed only to be ignored(This was a 3man SWF as they all had similar names). They pop the final gen, run away leaving me injured. NOED triggers as one of them gets downed, bye I'm out of here, because you were too selfish to heal me in the hope the killer would go for me at endgame and it ended up with you being hooked. If I had self care equipped that game I would have healed and looked for totems.

I use resilience to make back some of my healing time working on a gen, admittedly it isn't loads of time claimed back through it but it reduces the time I "wasted" self caring.

Solo players can't rely on other survivors to help. The very idea that people with self care are selfish is ridiculous. Just because you see them self caring when you're on a hook doesn't mean you know what other perks they are running to make that time back or what hits they have taken to help out other survivors etc. Get over yourself and your elitist idea that you are the best selfless player because you don't use self care but you get knocked down in seconds. (This isn't aimed at the person I am quoting this is aimed at anyone who cries at people for using self care)

True, and this is where killers should decide what they find important for perks. I haven't used Discordance before so I'll try it out and see how it goes :P

But if a killer uses discordance when I play survivor, I wait until it's gone and work on that gen. Because I know the killer isn't going to check that gen until a bit after, because he'll likely find another survivor by than.

I have corrupt intervention and discordance on all the killers I use regularly. Corrupt limits the number of gens available at the start so they usually pair up on a gen that isn't blocked, which alerts me with discordance and then I head there.

Respectfully, I will be trying PTB.

But let's assume I start on the furthest side of the map from survivors. I have around 3 gens on average to guess where they are (in groups of 2 or more). So while yes you can plausibly get to gens before they pop. I think the OP is just making the point that unless we guess the right gen immediately, they could still plausibly pop a gen before you get there.

Use discordance. The guess work is gone.

No idea why you are quoting me? I'm saying the killers need to stop moaning about everything. I'm definitely not in support of whiny killers.

  • I'm confused by this entire thread. Nobody is making you disconnect, you choose to. Whether the game is bad or not just get through it. You may even learn something in the process. Disconnecting only makes the survivors laugh at you, especially if they keep seeing you do it and it holds you back from improving. A lot of people claim to be against SWF a lot more than they actually are. I have been accused of being SWF many times when playing solo. Just suck it up and get better through experience

Hate to tell you then but the forums are designed for exactly these topics, while it would be nice for people to not bicker and argue I fail to see how the OP was arguing with anyone.

The OP provided his math and a concern, the devs replied as well as others with insight on what X amount of seconds can translate to in game. The OP did not attack anyone or act in a "toxic" manner. While I understand your frustration I do not believe this thread fits the narrative of your complaint.

Except he does his mathematics and then follows it up with complaining how it isn't enough because like I said, it never will be enough. The PTB wasnt even live and he was complaining about the number of extra seconds it gave and how they should be given more. It wasn't a concern it was another complaint.

I wouldn't call stupid gen times a killer lack of ability. I guarantee Survivors will easily be able to complete a full gen before the killer can get there. When you say "it'll never be enough for you" I can't help but think that you're just sick of complaining in general that being in disagreement with this guy's point.

Yes I am sick of hearing complaints about gen times. I'm sick of hearing complaints about every single perk a survivor/killer uses. Constant whining for the devs to make things easier for whatever side they play.

You understand that Killing is the Killer's main objective, right? If you have a problem with the game rewarding killers so greatly for getting a kill and the amount of pressure it provides, blame the devs. Playing the game as it is now (In anticipation for the new PTB) really sets in stone for me how much needed to change and how necessary tunneling usually is if you want to have a winning game.

You don't need to tunnel to win a game at all. I have never camped and never tunnelled and I am always red rank. If you're ######### you need to tunnel and camp but don't make up excuses as to how it is because of the state the game is in. You rely on it because it is easy.

Okay what does this have to do with the content we have received? Yes, they haven't fixed tunneling and camping. But we see them fixing issues AT LAST that we've been demanding for years.

Maps are going to be shrunk so that balancing can be done better in them.

This isn't going to fix tunneling and camping but at this rate they are hitting things one at a time.

Let's be honest here. Camping and tunnelling has ######### all to do with map size any in game issues. It is ######### players taking the easy ######### option to try and win because they're desperate to win irrelevant of how miserable the game is.

You only have to look ag the numerous threads of "why I camp/tunnel/mori" where they give pathetic excuses. It just makes me cringe, they do it because they're #########. The End. No amount if changes that massively favour killers will ever change that. So let's not pretend it will.

you are right about the 15% on 4 that's my bad.

It is never going to be enough for you. Let's be honest they had said 20%, you would have run the numbers and then said, that isn't enough you should have done 25%. It will never be enough for people who moan constantly about gen times until it takes 20mins per generator with survivors.

Manage your time better. Get better. Stop asking the devs to do all the work for you. There are plenty of people out there who 4k with any of the killers in red ranks against SWF with toolboxes etc and whatever other excuses you come up with as to why you lost. Just because YOU can't do it, doesn't mean it isn't possible or that the game needs to be balanced around your lack of ability.

You need to do gens. I need to down you, hook you and down you. My problem is when I kill a survivor and the last three survivors can just leave at 4 gens done. (like the nice gentleman already said) Patrolling becomes easier and easier the more gens are done, and that fact that you can just escape willy-nilly when it's the killers strongest time is the problem

The killers strongest time is when there are less gens to patrol I agree and yet loads of people who only play killer will disconnect, cry, rage on forums, camp, tunnel and Mori people because a gen got done whilst they downed the first person claiming that gens times are too quick etc even though the game gets easier for killers the less gens there are.

There is always an excuse by people like you to play in a ######### manner you don't need to make a forum post explaining it because even without these things you're still going to play like a #########.

  • Killer makes thread with an excuse as to why they camp/tunnel/mori..... groundbreaking.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

I see a bunch of people saying that secret Offerings shouldn't be a thing. You see the killer has a secret Offering, it's almost always a Mori. Killer sees a secret Offering, immediately heads to the opposite side of the map in case of Vigo's Shrowd.

I have the opposite feel. I think there should be MORE secret Offerings. An offering that makes the first survivor the killer lands a hit on becomes the obsession. Call it mark of death. Make one for survivors that makes them start as the obsession even if no one has a perk or add-on for obsessions. Call it target on your back. Killer gets an offering that does absolutely nothing, but it's a secret. Call it suspicious markings. Give the survivors one that ignores shrowds that starts them next to a random generator, regardless of killer starting location. Rusted wrench, or something. Give the survivors one that makes them start in a random locker, already inside. Call it something like gym padlock.

I feel like the real problem with secret Offerings is that there are so few, you can reliably guess what it is. But that's just my take on the subject.

I think all offerings should be secret. It would stop the pathetic excuses for camping/tunnelling when a map offering gets used.

Each side doesn't need to see what the other has played until after the game. Even with other secret offerings that you suggested, killers would still just pick moris. Always with some pathetic excuse prepared for post game chat:

    You had a toolbox

2 people were the same character

    There was a flashlight

I saw a key but didn't know it was a broken key so I had to mori everyone when I tunnelled them off first hook.

    And so on...

Yeah, that's why the game is called

    "Survive by Daylight."

Does the time of day change in each map as the trial goes along? Does it approach daylight just before you die? No? Maybe you're reading too much in to the ######### name then.

The game isn't designed for survivors to die no matter what. I know people who only play killer would love the game to mean 4 kills every round. If you're absolute ######### at playing killer why should you be given 4 kills every round? Because the name uses the word dead in it? Idiotic focus given to the name of the game.

If you see reducing map sizes as a survivor nerf you're admitting the basic game design was balanced toward survivors.

There are currently big maps and there are small maps, how is that balanced in the favour of survivors? Making every map smaller and potentially close to being the same size is boring and 100% killer sided as small maps are easier for killers . More maps for the doctor to cover the entire map with his terror radius. Maps where the nurse can use a tremendously increased blink add-on to get right across it in 2 blinks. Maps where it takes the hillbilly 3 seconds to get ANYWHERE. I play both sides and I have accepted some maps are big and others are small. Bigger ones are more of a challenge as a killer but I'm not going to cry about it because as a killer when I get a smaller one it is easier for me.

Obviously in your eyes balance exists when something favours the killer exclusively. Do you honestly believe you will see an increase in the low mobility killers usage with these smaller maps? Of course not, you will just be loving you have it even easier as a high mobility killer.

  • I don't see the point in making maps smaller. People will still play the same high mobility killers because it is even easier for them now. Bloodlust will stick around because we aren't allowed to take anything away from killers at the moment it seems. Just pile on the survivor nerfs to keep the babies whojust play killer happy.

  • @Eradik said:

All MUCH needed changes to prevent SWF toxicity, among a dozen other issues (second chances, infinites, etc)

You're just setting yourself up for failure.

The debuff on survivors repair speed will mean nobody works together. Pointless doing so. That means multiple gens pop all at once. Then you'll be back on here saying gen times need changing because toolboxes and multiple survivors on one gen wasnt the issue after all. It also means discordance will be less likely to trigger.

Smaller maps won't change anything either. People will still just play high mobility killers because now it is even easier to get around. It is pointless changes pandering to people who play one side of the game and cry when they are too ######### to win.

    Well you just got more.

    Slower repair speed in groups.

Smaller progress bonus on a great skill check.

    Smaller maps.

Really pandering to the killer mains and their moaning at the moment. They will still ######### and moan about everything though. This is the problem with them pandering to them, the majority of them are just ######### at playing killer but want 4k every time. It will never be enough and they will keep moaning about every little thing.

Survivors got nothing in this update. A buff to prove thyself which makes it the same as what it is now after taking in the new speed debuff for groups. Stake out giving the same skill check bonus as they previously got without a perk. So both of these "buffs" are to be where they were before the update????? The rest is just pandering to killers. Instead of playing both sides I should just switch to killer exclusively, it gets easier every update, masses more bloodpoints, no downside.

You know what I mean though survivors never complain about fast games they win but if they get moried or tunneled it was unfun not getting to play well its not fun for killer when 3 gens pop in the first minute and you only get 2 or 3 chases max before gates open

Do killers moan when they slug everyone in 2 minutes and put them all on hooks?

  • @rabldong said:

Seriously, survivors nowadays need to wake up and have their brains checked or something. I had a 4 man swf bringing a coldwind offering and a key today. I usually don't dodge lobby but I had to bring a memento mori for the survivor that brought in a key. Guess what. After the game, they were talking ######### like "tunneling noob, ez killer". If you are going to bring in a key, don't get surprised to be tunneled and moried. If you are trying to win the game without completing your objective, then I'll do the same. If you are going to play unfairly, then I'll do the same.

They might be doing the challenge for the bloodpoints in the archive? They might be trying for the achievement to have 4 people go out of the hatch? You're making excuses to camp/tunnel/mori. It will extend to other items too. There are 2 toolboxes in my lobby, they might have BNPs I'll have to camp/tunnel/mori them.

It is a game, try to relax and not take it so seriously. You might find you have more fun when you're not so angry about everything.

Dead by daylight released on Switch on September 24th and with it came two notable absences, the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter and Leatherface. People were expecting that their perks would be base perks on Switch, like console players had Bill's perks before he released on console. Instead however, they told us that these perks would be available on the shrine and that they would try to bring all missing characters on Switch. I was disappointed, as were many others I imagine, but all we could do was wait.

Within a few months, Leatherface came to Switch, along with his perks. I was happy to not have to wait for his perks (before this only one of his perks showed up in the shrine before this, which was Knock Out), and so I waited to see when the last chapter would return.

It's been over half a year since then and there has been no update from the devs about Freddy and Quentin coming to Switch. I don't blame them, as license deals have to be kept under wraps and there was a change in copyright ownership with the franchise, but doesn't fill me with hope that the chapter will come in the near future.

So I ask the devs to put the six perks of that chapter into the Switch version as base perks. We shouldn't have to wait on random chance to get perks that we have no other way to obtain, and if they get reworked like Vigil will be, there would be no way for us to try them out. Of course if Freddy does come to Switch later you can remove them from the base pool. However I think we have all been patient enough and that it's time we are brought up to par to other platforms in terms of perks.

You say only one perk showed up on the shrine in that time but it isn't true. BBQ appeared on the shrine BUT they gave the switch users a different shrine that week in order to stop them getting BBQ from the shrine. They had no issue with knockout though. Knowing full well there would be no reason to but Leatherface on the Switch if BBQ had already been on the shrine. It was a low move by BHVR and one that never got addressed on the forum by any dev.

i dont know what swf is but this post wasnt about wether ur in a solo or a group, the point i made is for when its obvious to even the point that at the end of the game they admit to it, i dont like ruining the game with camping and stuff but when its clear they are ruining the game for me i start whipping out the dick moves like camping tunneling and stuff and i can tell when a team is in a discord call or if they are solo there are a few tell tales signs and while they arent garunteed to be accurate if u add up all the behaviors u can tell who is and who is not in a group together

when i join a lobby if there is already 4 people its a good sign they are in a group more so when they are holding a similar meta loadout while thats not proof they are in a call together its a high probability and the only real way to confirm is by playing in the match key factors of it in game is when u cant find anyone and when u get close to them someone conviently shows up baits u away and its like 3 people on a single gen again not garunteed but adds towards high probability and when probability gets really high its usually means they are

as a solo player i never bring anything into the game cause i find my own things on map to build up my arsenal so when i do bring stuff its with friends, that being said i can usually tell by their starting loadup normally being 1-2 dwights 1 laurie and 1 claudet, while in other cases its a combo of that sometimes replaces 1 dwight and laurie to be switched for other characters with good abilities like meg or the old guy with the barret(whose name currently escapes me), reguardless of what characters it is, its conviently that they run the same tools and they all run those tools, theres many key factors in determining wether they are or are not in a group, more so that those in a group tend to behave different then in others, when in games where i know they arent in a call its cause they arent as coordinated or try to make it obvious they are baiting me through a training spot which i know where it is on each map

anyway i didnt start this thread for any form of unfair debated or discussions i just didnt know where to post my suggestion to see if there was a way to deter this new form of destructive gameplay, if the surviors know where the killer is at all times it makes it harder and more unfair its already 4v1 and while the killer has quite powerful techniques at their disposal the fact they are alone is hard as is.

my final note again stands im not asking for a buff or nerf of a given mechanic, im only asking for a way to deter 3rd party products from ruining such a good game.

additional edit: i dont main killer i just happen to be it more often just cause its better to farm blood points when im solo cause i dont have friends ;-;, being a survivor is more fun cause its a good adrenaline rush when its a clutch moment. my post is an unbias suggestion cause i too wont deny if i play with friends i use discord to communicate which sounds hypocritical to my post its the fact im not the only person who does and i feel its unfair to both sides killers and survivors alike.

and to the person who said look at a wall when dealing with flashlight users its kinda hard when u down them in the middle of a field or when ur forced to look in a direction when breaking pallets

You joining a lobby and 4 people being there means nothing. It could be 4 solo people who had a killer leave the lobby.

The characters they pick being certain combinations again, nothing to do with SWF. In fact, SWF behaviour would more likely be survivors all dressed the same in store purchased cosmetics.

I commented on items in the previous post. Items are there to be used it doesn't mean they are playing SWF. It just means they are using their items they paid bloodpoints for the same way you use your add-ons as the killer.

I find it really disheartening that a rank 14 killer is already making excuses about SWF and complaining about how it is ruining his game. They're more than likely just better than you, that's all. You will improve as time goes by.

If torches and pallet saves are such a worry for you, use infectious fright and if there is a scream nearby go and hit them, if there isn't, feel free to pick them up or use lightborn.

You're making excuses as to why you don't win and that is based on because people want to play with their friends. What monsters they must be!!!

The person who claimed that being able to say "The killer is chasing me" means everyone gets on a gen is also making weird excuses. If you're not being chased you're only going to be doing gens or totems. You're not just going to endlessly run around the map thinking you're in a chase with the killer when you're not. Also the obsession tentacles wiggle when the killer is with them, everyone can see that, not just SWF. Does that need removing too?

People like to play with their friends. They aren't doing it to upset you, using it as an excuse to camp and tunnel is pretty sad too. You're basically saying "I'm bad at the game, so I'll make it miserable for anyone I do manage to catch because I can". Employing thse behaviours will actively hold you back from improving so you will rely on them for as long as you play the game and get increasingly frustrated when people outplay you when you try to use these "tactics". This will result in you becoming a standard whiny killer on these forums, something you are well on your way to achieving already.

  • I have been accused of being in SWF loads of times when I have been playing solo.

Survivors only have so many items they can bring in and you are currently moaning about Toolboxes, Medkits and Torches. That's 3 of their items. If they brought a key you would moan about that too. So that's 4. What should survivors do? Come in with nothing all the time?

Bringing items in doesn't mean you are with a SWF group.

A torch save doesn't mean you are with a SWF group.

Someone healing with a medkit doesn't mean you are with a SWF group.

Bodyblocking a hook doesn't mean you are with a SWF group.

Pallet saves doesn't mean you are with a SWF group.

I have done all of these things when playing solo. In fact, bodyblocking in particular I am more likely to do in solo queue because I may have seen them do a decent run whereas 1 or 2 of my SWF players are bad runners, so me taking a hit to get them out wouldn't buy them much time anyway and costs me a health state.

As someone said above, stop obsessing over SWF and blaming it for everything. I'm a red rank killer and I never dodge a lobby based on suspected SWF. Just play the game and move on. It isn't like it takes long to find a killer game anyway.

The majority of SWF groups are just people playing for fun with their friends and often have a wide range of skill. The pro groups are few and far between.

    @luciferAngelsTTV said:

in the last several if not all my previous games in the past 2 days every game i played had 4 people together in a party that is easy to tell they are in discord which ruins the fun and difficulty of the game as a killer i cant catch anyone and as a survivor who is abusing discord they make the game less fun and less difficult on their end where as harder for the killer

killers get blamed for tunneling and camping which at this point all a killer can do cause as soon as the game starts 1-2 people try to bait the killer into running circles and the rest of them either break hooks or gen rush so by the time u catch ur 1st victim 2+ gens are already fixed cause they abuse several things a survivor can do and while i know its mostly based on skill and i know try hard survivers will just say get good its not about getting good

since everyone is in a discord call together everyone can make it known where the killer is as well as bring counter mesures alot of the games i played recently is 2 medkits 2 toolboxes or 2 medkits a toolbox and a flightlight

the guy who baits has a medkit and the guy with the flashlight comes in and flashes u when ur trying to pick the player up or when they throw down a pallet and thats already hard enough even when they arent in discord

not to mention the fact that while ur holding someone people will litterally run in ur way to make sure u cant move abusing physics mechanics cause when they crouch they are no different then a wall and even after i hit them they keep trying to stall long enough for the player im holding to finish his struggle bar

i know it would be hard to balance it cause not everyone uses discord or has friends to be in discord with but at the ranks below 15 it becomes far more commonplace that they are discord users not to mention the matchmaking is weird since im rank 14 getting placed against rank 4-9 players and very few in double digets

my final point i want to make is im not asking for over the top balancing but something that makes it harder for people using discord and abusing game mechanics

I would much rather have unique chase music as opposed to the generic crap I've been hearing for four years at this point. It's quality of life and it makes the chases more memorable.

I am saying chase music being unique is fine but terror radius should be generic.

  • I don't really like the individual terror radius music. I wouldn't mind individual chase music but I think you lose the surprise element when it comes to the killer with the terror radius.

When everyone had the same you could be hiding at the start of a match with a loud terror radius, but because you were hidden in an alcove or whatever you were unable to see the killer and have no idea who you were up against. Now, if it is Doctor, Demo Oni or Deathslinger I know the moment I touch their terror radius. Just disappoints me a bit.

    Its funny.

I made a thread a while back asking the forums who they thought people were going to go after after the Spirit and Nurse nerfs.

I proposed that it would be the Huntress. Because people find her hatchets annoying, especially Iridescent Heads, but I also stated that I think she is 100% the most fair and balanced killer in the game and doesn't need any nerfs or buffs.

Fast forward and she is one of the most complained about killers today. Some one makes a thread about Iridescent head at least once every day.

It makes one wonder if she actually needs changes or if people are just latching onto another bandwagon. 🤔

I've mentioned one add on that belongs to the huntress. It takes zero ability/skill to use and is always paired up with the additional 2 hatchets. 3 long range instadown shots. If you are a good huntress you can do it from a distance if you're a bad huntress just get up close and use it.

I don't call the bullshit around corner hatchet hits boring. I don't comment on any of her other stuff. It is just that sole add-on that is complete bullshit as far as I am concerned and insanely boring to play against.

The thread is asking what you find boring about killers as a survivor, nothing about it being a poll in regards to nerfs or anything.

Although you have reminded me by mentioning the Spirit. Old prayer beads, I have really mixed feelings about those. When you had multiple games of them in one night it was frustrating as hell to play against and became dull but I do miss the jump scares that you could get with them when you ended up in matches with them infrequently.

  • I am not a survivor main but I have been known to comment on a game I've played as a survivor being boring in post game chat.

    This is usually because:

    Hardcore camping

    Hardcore tunnelling

There are other things I find boring it play against but I'm unlikely I'm comment in the post game chat about it - These being:

Freddy with Pop, BBQ, Thana, Dying light, swing chains. Just multiple slowdown perks/addons stacked up on top of one another.

Hillbilly - Ones who just stand behind you with the instasaw. Nothing can be done. I'm down. Ones who are bending round corners etc I am fine with. You've taken the time to be really good.

Huntress - Iridescent head. The most BS add on in the game.

  • When it changed all levels to give the exposed status rather than just level 3

  • It works too well against certain killers???? If you don't bait the dead hard it will work against any killer. Going over the trapper's traps. Well they can't even be sabotaged now so you expect a down every time you chase a survivor and they go near a trap?

Why should a phantasm hit be guaranteed just by triggering a trap?

It gives an extra health point but at the same time people are too comfortable being injured???? Well if they don't heal because they feel so comfortable then they don't have an extra health point they have the same as if they had healed.

Dead hard at loops is unfair???? So a perk being used as a perk is unfair?

What's your idea for a rework? Anyone who uses dead hard is immediately teleported to a hook?

  • I have seen a few of your videos now through your self promotion on here and all of them are the same. Endless moaning.

There was even one where you played an absolutely abysmal huntress game and proceeded to make out like you were being "genrushed" but actually you were just fixated on tunnelling the ######### out of one survivor which lost you the game. Maybe take your own advice from a recent video about quitting the game because you quite clearly dislike playing it. The dislike seems to be because they haven't made it a guaranteed 4k for all killer players irrelevant of ability, which is the only time you will be happy.

There is nothing funny about endless whining.

Not to mention, ruin kept newbie survivors where they belonged. In yellow ranks. It was not coincidence that red ranks swelled with survivors who cant loop or hit a great skill check shortly after the nerf.

When deathslinger came out que times improved. Just further supports theres nothing wrong with MM, no one wants to play killer cause its more frustrating than fun. Now that the hype died down, survivors are back to 20 min que times. If your que times are that bad it should be a ######### slap of truth one side is under powered.

The Ruin change is nothing to do with ted ranks having more people. It is the fact people are being matched with rank 15 killers so they get easy matches etc Ruin is nothing to do with that.

"Just take a break from the game and play again when you can be less desperate for negative attention?" Lmao now that we got that slow brain to start working, i am also a red rank killer and I HIGHLY DOUBT you can play clown get a 4k without tunneling. Please show us

That isn't me telling him how to play the game that is me saying take a ######### break if you're so desperate for negative attention that it takes over your entire game. Maybe in time he can calm down from whatever broke his little baby heart and start enjoying the game again. Nobody enjoys standing still no matter what they claim in post game chat.

The only possible enjoyment from it is the enjoyment you get from ruining a game for someone else. Which again, really needs to result in the person playing that way to take a break from the game and assess their priorities, especially in the current climate.

I have had multiple 4ks as a clown without camping or tunnelling against red ranks. I don't even aim for 4 kills every game. I play the game to have fun, not to be hyper serious and miserable if it doesn't go my way. Try having a bit more fun with the game and you might be less likely to obsess over 4 kills. Which is clearly your current measure of "fun".

Also, why would I show you? Why would I invite you to watch me play a game I play for fun? So you can criticise me if it goes badly and make excuses if it goes well?

    It will either be:

"HAHAHAHAH THEY BEAT YOU AFTER YOU SAID YOU ALWAYS 4K" (Which I have never said but you would completely avoid that fact in order to try and criticise my game)

    Or

"You only got 4k because they were potatoes"

Either way it wouldn't be possible for me to have my point validated because you're obsessed with your own point which is because it isn't possible for YOU to do it, then nobody can.

There are plenty of people who play this game for a living. Watch them get 4 kills as a clown in red rank. I'll just stick to playing for fun and not crying every time a game doesn't go my way, be that a survivor game or a killer game. Try it sometime, it might make you a little more interesting to interact with.

  • I play The Plague quite a lot. I generally don't bother with corrupt. The round is even easier if people stay sick. Corrupt I only ever tend to take if I am mid chase and they run by a corrupt fountain, I have the time to stop off and grab it there and use on the person I am chasing. I wouldn't travel to get it if I wasn't already with someone.

Okay? They are allowed to play the game how they want, you are not entitled to tell someone how to play the game. I know! Maybe lets figure out why killers have the need to camp and tunnel *cough* ruin nerf *cough* insane god loops.

Where did I tell him how to play the game?

I said you're not playing it properly and you do it because you are bad at the game and you get off on any form of attention.

There is no reason to camp and tunnel. I play killer in red rank and I have never camped or tunnelled so don't come moaning at me about a ruin nerf causing these behaviours when both of these things existed before ruin was changed. It is an excuse that killers give to make out like they have no choice but to do it, but actually they do it because they're ######### at the game and can't play any other way.

So, win the game and prevent endgame entirely and you stop Adrenaline.

    Mind.......Blown.......

Meanwhile NOED can be pre-emptively stopped even though the endgame arrives anyway. I mean, you see the difference right? NOED is technically designed as a punishment for ignoring totems and a counter to Adrenaline, but it can be prevented while the only way a killer can prevent adrenaline is to win the game before endgame in which case, NOED is also a wasted perk slot.

Personally I don't really care about Adrenaline, as I said in my first post I find it to be the least frustrating of all the second chance perks and I would much rather deal with Adrenaline over DS, Unbreakable, or even Dead Hard. And I have no desire to run NOED because I don't run to run one perk down for 90% of the game, but these two things are not equal.

Adrenaline is a punishment for not killing the survivors before they finish the gens and a reward for survivors because they finished the gens.

NOED is a punishment for not doing totems and rewards the killer with exposed effect on whoever is left in the game.

If you kill the survivors before gens, adrenaline has been a waste for them. NOED has been a waste of a slot but why is that a big deal if all of them are dead before the gens are done anyway? Endgame is heavily killer sided, especially if you're down to just one survivor, in which case, only 1 adrenaline could have activated so there is not really anything to moan about.

The biggest gripe I seem to hear is how multiple people have it in a game. Why are multiple people still alive when all the gens are done? Why does it matter when you can only chase one at a time anyway? It makes no sense.

I agree adrenaline is fine the way it is. It is just more whining about a survivor perk from the same killers who moan about all the other survivor perks.

  • @Oshi said:

And this is the problem. How killer should counter genrush coordinated red rank SWF with communication and key without MORI? Bubba four gens left i down them all once, then got coordinated genrushed to one gen while one loop me far away from them. Obviously, it's an depip, but i'm glad three of them also depip with me.

Just chase them and kill them. Plenty of us do it at red ranks against red rank teams without a mori. Without camping, without tunnelling.

You need to manage your own expectations, 4 kills will not happen in every single game. It just won't. Taking the shortcut of a mori will not help you get any better at tackling better players because you rely on the fact you can take 1 person out after a single hook and probably tunnel them for it too. Just because people play well together doesn't make them SWF.

So what if they have a key? So what if 2 get out? Just play the game and you'll have far more fun than obsessing over 4 kills and how you have to tunnel off the hook to get the mori because a gen has been completed.

I have had plenty of red rank game where I have 1 hook and 3 gens are done and I have turned that in to 3 or 4 kills becaus they have reduced the size of the play area sufficiently with those 3 gens they finished. Stop worrying about gens popping early, play well and you can turn it around. You don't need all 5 gens protected to win or rank up.

I mean yeah ApeofMazor made a pretty dumb statement, but you really wanna talk about Moris, which actively hinder a Killer's ability to pip while Keys on the other hand let survivors escape early and reward them with a boost to their survival emblem?

And NOED can actually be completely short-circuited by cleansing five dull totems. Last I checked there was no Adrenaline shut off button.

Don't spout stupid nonsense like this just to show dominance, particularly when you only talk about half the situation.

Errrrr adrenaline 100% can be stopped. Stop 5 gens from being completed or kill 4 survivors.

2 closely linked options that stop adrenaline from ever coming in to play. If you failed to do those then adrenaline comes in.

Same way, if survivors don't cleanse their 5 totems. NOED comes in to play.

  • @Oshi said:

Four rank SWF with communication and key. I bring red mori, kill 3 of them, last one of them of course escaped. 20k BP minus one pip. Devs, maybe you delete keys also with morris from game?

I am going to assume the reason being that you just mori each survivor as soon as they have been hooked once? You're doing 1 of 3 hooks, 33% of the hooks on those survivors has happened. Why should you be rewarded for taking such a huge shortcut of 66% on each survivor?

If survivors as a team of 4 could do 2 gens and then all escape with a key which is only 40% of their objective done. They wouldn't be rewarded with a pip either and killers would whine even more about keys.

The bloodpoints you get are unrelated to the emblem system. You need to be scoring in the emblem system consistently to be rewarded with rank increases. It isn't difficult. Hit people, hook people, slow gen progress, that's it.

  • For me a much better way of applying pressure when a survivor immediately unhooks in front of me or the survivor I am chasing runs to the hook and unhooks is to down the unhooked, it stops the unhooker getting their bonus for safe unhook and then carry on after the unhooker. The unhooked person now needs someone to come and get him off the floor whilst you chase the other.

As a survivor I don't mind that play either. It is the really desperate abandoning a chase with unhooker to down the unhooked and throw them straight back on the hook that I find embarrassing for the killer when I am a survivor. Too scared to play properly. Always come up with an excuse though, usually gen rush. When the reality is they spent too long on someone in the first place.

Its not like survivors try to become better, all boosted thanks to the meta perk builds

Their perk slots, they put what they want in it, same way a killer gets to choose their own perks for their slots.

It isn't like every survivor has the same loadout anyway so I don't really understand the moaning about the meta build. It is so rare I actually see anyone with it all.

Even if I do, I still get 4 kills often and I don't have to spend half a match stood still.

They never get to use DS on me so that is a waste of a perk slot unless they're a team who are all dressed the same and multiple injured/broken. Dead Hard might work the first time but after that I just wait for them to use it and then hit.

In my SWF group(which is a pool of about 6 people of varying ranks from 1 to 13) we have 1 DS, 1 Unbreakable, 0 Dead hard, 1 Adrenaline. All of those are on different people, nobody has more than 1 of them. There are two rank 1 people in the 6 and neither of them use any of those perks.

  • I really couldn't care less about you running NOED. Your perk slot put whatever you want in it.

You camp and tunnel because you refuse to improve at the game. You don't need to make up an excuse, it is just you refuse to try and get better. A large number of the people you are going up against who are red/purple have been boosted there by the matchmaking putting them against rank 15s etc. They aren't actual red ranks, a lot of them will actually be green ranks. You can't just look at a colour and assume they are good players. As that is really not the case.

I can't see how the survivors doing gens and looping etc can be classed as toxic? That's the game you're playing. Standing still next to a hook isn't the game it is the boring, easy way out.

I think it is quite depressing that rather than try and improve at the game, you would rather spend minutes at a time stood still watching and waiting for someone to die, knowing you've ruined their game just because you want to ruin it. You say people gave you crap in post game chat because they beat you.

1 2 3 4 5 … 7
