Obsession is still a target for most killers. Even when running the perks that should let the obsession live for a bit I still see them tunneled and killed first. Maybe the killers don't fully understand the point of the perks, or they just don't care. There's also archive challenges to hook obsession multiple times or kill them in multiple matches, these make the obsession a target.

If you are putting on a perk that increases your chances you should start as the obsession, not the players that don't equip an obsession perks. If it switches throughout the match due to a perk that is different, but someone with no obsession perks should not be starting as the obsession when there are players running obsession perks. If the players running obsession perks are not starting as the obsession then there's absolutely 0 downside to those perks.

    Doesn't bother me at all.

I do seem to get selected as the obsession a lot. I don't use any obsession perks ever. I just have poor luck I guess, the same way I can try and get out of a trapper's trap 13times and not escape but everyone else on my team gets out first try. Ah well

Oh man I hope so, can only get 160ms pings right now, but used to always get 60 / 55 ms...

It has been like this for me since the update. Had no issues with a green ping before that, now I am mostly yellow, sometimes even red. I'm in the UK.

I don't equip any obsession perks while the other three I get matched with will run DS and every time I start match as the obsession. I know it's just a chance but I think they need to increase the chance for those running obsession perks.

What difference does it make? The obsession isn't anything special anyway.

    - Dying light they should actively avoid killing you.

    - Play with your food they should be letting you go.

    - Save the best for less hitting you ruins their stacks.

    - Nemesis and Furtive chase change the obsession a lot.

I don't understand why it would matter who the obsession was? It isn't like old dying light where you would get tunnelled to #########.

Freddy user is mindless? and must get 4K ? Bro even good Freddy when face good SWF they still destroyed.

My team and I play against red tier Freddy. 2 escape 2 death. Why still 2 death ? Because red memento mori. Why 2 alive? because of key user.. This game is OP for both side but also balance for both side.. There is no way 4K as always... There is also streamer boasting 50+ games.. 4k in row... in the end still lose to hatch player or SWF with keys...

I'm not saying get 4k every game with him I'm saying you should be getting a lot of 4ks. He is mindless, he has everything at his disposal.

    - Add ons that slow the game down

    - Snares that can be spammed around any pallet or loop mid chase without any slowdown whilst he does it.

    - A passive timer that puts you to sleep every 1 minute, even when in a chase this timer progresses but if he gets a hit on you right after you have woken up, you're asleep again. Staying awake isn't an option to avoid his ability as one way or another you will fall asleep in that chase.

    - The passive sleeping gives the user an option to wake up with a clock, that is ALWAYS the furthest one away from you. Why is it not random? Why always the furthest? It is a game slowdown mechanic in a similar vein to removing a reverse bear trap at machines, but with the guarantee this is the furthest point from you, the only difference is it won't directly kill you. The pig can only use their slowdown mechanic a handful of times, Freddy has the potential to use it every minute. The other options are miss a skill check to alert Freddy as to where you are(think there are add ons that show your aura when you miss a skillcheck too) or have someone else wake you up, which increases to a maximum of 16 seconds. There is also an add on that stop one person from waking up all game and another one that limits how people can wake up for the entire game.

    - Teleporting across the map in seconds, this isn't dependent on him getting a hook, it isn't dependent on survivors triggering a trap, he can just zip across the entire map in seconds as long as his short cooldown allows it. This can also be used mid chase, without him actually slowing down to do it.

    - Fake pallets, particularly strong in late game where without running around the entire map all game making a note of which pallets are still active and which aren't there is no way to tell which ones are real and which aren't, even with a map that claims to track killer belongings.

He gets 10 snares/pallets. Compare that to a clown who gets 4-6 bottles. Compare that to the trapper who can carry a maximum of 3 at a time. You also have to consider both of those have a slowdown related to using their bottle/traps.

Compare that to other killers I haven't mentioned and he has a load of tools at his disposal to aid him in the game, to say otherwise is delusional.

Freddy is without a doubt the most well equipped killer in the game. He is also by far the easiest killer to use.

And what do you do if the 4 survivors are a bit good (no necessary to be a pro)? They can stay in a chase enough time for 2 gens to be done and popping, what do you do? Just Kicking gens all the time?

Genrush is a problem in the game, anybody who don't notice this is survivor sided. Even if you see main killer streamers with 4k hours in twitch they say genrush is a problem.

BuT ThIs Is OuR ObJeTiVe, WhAt dO YoU SuPoSe We HaVe To Do?

Break dull totems, you can disable an endgame NOED and you get 1000 boldness points for each which is very good. Unhook survivors an heal them, tank them a Hit if the killer is a tunneler a lot of Altruism points.

Some survivor think the only things are Obetives and Survival and Boldness and Altruism. You get more BP and even get better emblems at the end of the game and pip more. I personally prefer to get chased, search for totem and rescue team mates than just holding M1. I prefer to do that things even if I die than just hold M1 for X minutes and scaping, it's way more amusing and you get more point than just holding M1.

A lot of survivor have the obsesion of only do gens, they even repair while they are hurt without Resilience equiped or Stay in a generator to do this at all cost even if you are coming despite getting hit or downed due that risk GOD, that's so stupid.

This is bullshit though. People get accused of gen rushing all the time even when they haven't.

I have been told to "Get AIDS gen rushers" in post game chat. In a game where all totems were cleansed, all gens done, both exit gates open, all chests opened. What do you expect the survivors to do other than that? Sabotage every hook on the map?

Gen rush is an excuse used by so many people because they lost not because the gens went too quick but because they were too ######### to handle the survivors. Never hear the killer moaning that the game ends quickly because they slugged everyone within 2 minutes though.

  • @Viceus said:

I also hate vs Freddy when become survivor... especially Freddy with bbq, pop , bambozzle, stbftl or No Ed....

and I love to use Freddy when become a killer... my build is same above...

But this is my opinion... Nurse and spirit are more hard to fight than Freddy.... especially pro blink nurse....

The difference with a good nurse is that they have put some effort in to learning it to that level. Freddy is mindless, if you can't 4k as Freddy on a consistent basis then killer isn't for you.

  • @Deadeye said:

Necromancer! This post is from 1 year ago!

You need a 4k and double pip with killers to get the adept.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1244741#Comment_1244741

Agreed! This is just valid for survivors. Crouching around whole game and jumping through the hatch with a key is fine, without touching a gen.

I think they should make both adepts require a single pip tbh

You actually don't need 4k to get an adept. It is just a double pip. I've had 3 kills and the last goes through the hatch and got a double pip. They were probably on their 3rd hook had I caught them but still, they escaped and I got merciless.

  • The main issue I have is he has too many snares/pallets. 10 of them is a lot, especially when he has no slowdown when setting them so he can just do them whilst mid loop.

The other issue is that there is no way to tell what is a fake pallet and what isn't? If you have small game equipped it gives you an alert, that is fine but why are they not showing up on maps that track killer's belongings? Hag traps do, trapper traps do, why has Freddy been exempt from this?

  • You need to be hooking everyone repeatedly. If all you had to do was hook them once, tunnel off the hook and mori them out of the game the achievement would be simple.

  • @Predated said:

I did mention I am a survivor main right? When I escape by other people body blocking the killer, it never feels earned. Its even a bit of a let-down. For the killer, it also doesnt feel deserved either. There were survivors doing something that had 0 risk for them and all the rewards. For that high of a reward, there should be a big risk countering it.

I don't really care what side you play to be honest. I play both and I think this is a stupid idea.

You moan how the escape doesn't feel earned because a teammate worked with you to ensure you got out but you want to hand a killer a pity kill in the exit gate which would 100% be an unearned kill..... so your idea between what is classed as earned for a survivor and what is classed as earned for a killer makes very little sense.

Exit gates that are open should be safe areas, all the objectives have been done.

This BM in the exit gates thing also makes no sense. Teabagging and pointing has no impact on the length or quality of the killers game. It has no impact on how much game time that killer gets. When a killer is a prick to a survivor by tunnelling the ######### out of them or camping them, that game is ruined for that player, very often it is ruined in this manner for no reason.

  • That is true but then if everyone just starts muting people, what is the point of it being there in the first place? You won't know whether I have muted you or not and will be waffling on in game and I'm just ignoring you.

Don't get me wrong. I would love proximity chat and I would even use it in SWF like I used to on Friday The 13th years ago but my experience of random Friday the 13th proximity chat was really depressing. Constant screeching and gibberish.

I mean, I wouldn't expect complex thinking from you given this is how you interpret things.

You mean stating a fact? If you and I solo a gen for 80 seconds 2 gens will pop. If you and I team up on gens for 80 seconds, 2 gens won't pop. It is less efficient to team up. I get you are trying to say a gen will be done in a little over 40 seconds with 2 of us and we may be able to get it done before the killer comes our way, whereas solo we are stuck in place for 80 seconds and at 2 locations so the chances of the killer coming across one of us is increased but actual efficiency is not improved by working together.

  • @bluedusef said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1239856#Comment_1239856

Just mute them or don't allow coms communication in as a default so you never have to deal with this. pretty simple.

Also, I am sure you have seen how toxic the post game chat on PC can be. Can you imagine the voice chat version of that?

If you're the killer and they are constantly telling you how ######### you are atthe game etc. Survivors selling out other survivors locations to save themselves. It would be awful. I prefer it the way it is. If I play with friends I can talk to them about the game or my day etc if Inplay solo I can ignore the party invites and play in peace and if I'm the killer I can send a "gg wp" at the end of any game I win or lose and head off.

  • @Rezblaze said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1239783#Comment_1239783

You realize the efficiency penalty for two survivors is like, a couple seconds, right? Doing a generator with two people is still far more efficient.

You realise that reducing efficiency by any number makes it less efficient, right?

  • @EvilJoshy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1239783#Comment_1239783

I never had an issue with multiple survivors on the same gen. My concern was 3 survivors each on a gen while I'm chasing the 4th.

I agree. I always preferred groups working on a gen because that way I knew I was only going to lose one at a time. Unfortunately, a lot of killers couldn't think that way and pushed for nerfs to groups of people working on gens.

As I said when this decreased efficiency was brought up at PTB and someone started a thread on here saying that "it isn't enough and it should have been 20%", no matter what figure they brought in people would want more. Some people are just ######### at playing killer and no amount of slowdown will change that. They are just bad at it. They can't balance gen times around those people. All these nerfs do is make it marginally easier for bad players and a lot easier for good players.

  • @bluedusef said:

First off all id like to say thankyou for the much needed update today!

My question is about COMS and why isn't it a feature in game?

Ive seen that apparently the devs are perfectly fine with coms. so I wonder if its totally fine, then why isn't it just a normal feature ingame? why wasn't it brought in alongside SWF etc? why bother using third party websites when u could just patch in coms ? I don't get it.

Because not everyone wants comms in a round. You could just end up with people playing music or screaming down the mic when you are trying to play. External software means you talk to people you want to talk to.

  • @Dabihwow said:

yeah I realized that as well, just one match it almost felt like 3 gens were done the moment I started moving. But from what I've heard a while back was that if survivors worked together on a gen, their progression speed reduce or something like that. Anyway yeah I don't see the game balanced as used to be back before pre ruin

Because killers moaned about how gens got done quickly at the start when all or 3 of the survivors hopped on one gen. Even though if you had discordance equipped it would actually help you at the start of a round to find where at least 2 survivors were. They altered it to slow that group progression and so survivors have now spread out as it makes more sense than having the speed reduction. You now lose the benefit of discordance and set yourself up to potentially lose 3 gens in the first chase.

This was the doing of killers who constantly moaned about survivors getting on gens together at the start of a match. Nobody else.

Literally almost every game has campers and I lose rank progress. Is this just my games? I think that there should be ways to stop tunneling without perks. Example: when the killer is X meters and closer to the hooked survivor, the timer stops. Or maybe: after getting unhooked, you are invincible for 1 second (for all those killers who wait for the hooked survivor to get unhooked, then immediately hit them).

I’m all for killers, but getting these types of killers makes me enjoy this awesome game less. Losing rank progress doesn’t seem fair when real gameplay isn’t happening.

It isn't just you. Unfortunately there are a lot of ######### players who think it makes them a good killer and makes a good game. It is beyond tedious to go up against. You will get loads of killer mains coming on this thread claiming it's a "legit strategy". They don't like being told they are ######### at the game.

Getting torched at a pallet is infuriating and kinda inflammatory. Especially if I don't do any underhanded tactics. I may be a Stealth Killer, but you have eyes.

As for perk abuse, bodyblocking with Borrowed Time and 60 second "immunity" with Decisive Strike are widely considered to be an abuse of power when it comes to these perks. Bodyblocking with BT allows for some INCREDIBLY unsafe hooks to go off with relative safety. Some survivors also think that having DS will make a killer "respect" them as they go to make stupid mistakes or reckless actions, such as those safe unhooks or doing a generator in the killer's face and feeling immune while doing so as a killer SURELY doesn't want the 5 second stun and to be labelled as a tunneller, right?

THAT is perk abuse. Use and abuse is a fine line in DbD. It takes a bit to know when it's been crossed.

I have those things happen in my games, don't care if they want to use their perks, part of the game. If you fall for the borrowed time body block then that is your choice but if you hit them and they have to go mend, what difference does it make? It isn't like the other person has vanished by this point. Far too many people who play mostly killer take it far too seriously. Just keep reminding yourself it is just a game.

In no way, shape or form am I going to become "infuriated" by someone torching me at a pallet. If that is regularly happening to you I suggest you switch the game off. There is a whole lot of ######### going on in the world that you should be infuriated by and being torch blinded in a game(which is a valid use of a torch) is not one of those things.

The fact of the matter is that these guys were indeed swf. They all spam messaged me. And there's no doubt that swf is broken. Its easy to tell if people are solo rather than swf.

Except it isn't easy to tell at all. It is just an endless excuse used by people who play killer and need an excuse as to why they get beaten. If it was SO easy to tell we wouldn't have killers crying on here all the time how the lobby should show SWF in the lobby so they can dodge it.

Like I said, I get accused of it a lot. Stop buying in to the bollocks that tru3 spouts.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

One for both to consider as a disclaimer. - Unless provoked, please try to adhere to these guidelines. The other side's existance is not provocation. If there are signs of toxicity, then all rules may be ignored.

    Survivor:

-BE CAUTIOUS when using a flashlight. Blinding at pallets or rapid clicking are invitations for tunnelling.

-ABUSE PERKS at your OWN RISK. Decisive Strike/Borrowed Time/Unbreakable does not make you immune to a killer.

    Killer:

-CONSIDER YOUR RANK when choosing add-ons. Unless you're above Rank 5, nobody likes seeing twin Pink add-ons, ESPECIALLY below Rank 15.

    - LAST MATCH is no excuse to bring an Ebony Mori and kill off first hook. We all have bad matches. Get over it.

I don't understand the issue with blinding at pallets? It can be used to make distance if the killer chooses the wrong way when blinded. It is a perfectly valid use of a torch.

No such thing as perk abuse, only use.

I agree on ebony moris though. Tunnelling off first hook for it is stupid.

    Are you serious?

3 second stun? Missing boost from uncloak? Notifying everyone by releasing his TR?

How would the killer get a 3 second stun? If you read the post by the person I responded to, you would see that he has suggested the uncloak remains whilst the stun is removed, so the survivor stops to burn the Wraith and all he does is uncloak whilst coming towards you at full speed and hits you? Maybe try reading the quoted reply before jumping in with your ideas?

it benefits the survivor by disabling the speed boost wraith gets?? And it doesn't ruin his entire exprience by giving him a stun everytime he tries to use his power?

The speed boost wouldn't matter the survivor has had to stop to flashlight burn him and if all it does is uncloak him he can walk towards the survivor at full speed being uncloaked whilst the survivor can barely move burning him. There is no need for the speed boost the survivor has given the Wraith a free hit by using a "counter" to his ability. Next level dumb.

  • @Dasher_102 said:

so, I just bought the game about a month or two ago, and main wraith as a killer. I've learned everything I know from a popular streamer known as Tru3Ta1ent, and frequently see him go up against sweaty swf groups. As I hit green rank, I recently started going up against the same thing. Survivors who were blatantly swf who were trolling and annoying the ######### out of me. Today was the last straw when I faced a few red ranks, all swf. They all had borrowed time, decisive strike, and would conga line each other when injured. Two of them burned the crotus prenn asylum offering, which is a pretty bad map for wraith in my opinion. They were t bagging, and overall made my experience horrible. After all 4 escaped unexpectedly, they started spamming me with "baby killer", "trash", etc. Its ridiculous that I can't find any chill games anymore, and I decided to just quit the game. I was told by my friend, who convinced me to buy the game and play with him, that the game was slowly dying and he wanted more people to play it. Well now I see why. So many people, new players like me especially, are being pushed away from the game by these toxic swf groups. Something needs to be done, and until that happens, I won't even bother to touch the game. Devs can at least add some sort of casual game mode right? Kinda like rainbow six siege with casual, unranked, and ranked? Idk, all I'm saying is this ######### needs to be fixed, because its broken as hell...

I've been accused of being in a SWF many times when I have been playing solo. I have been camped/tunnelled/mori and then in the post game chat the killer tells me to get AIDS and that's how you deal with SWF etc, but I'm playing solo. They always shut up when you point out you're solo and then if others chime in that they are solo too, they realise that SWF isn't as obvious as they like to think, nor tru3 but they still play like twats thinking they are up against SWF pro teams.

Stop fixating on who you're going up against and whether they are SWF or Solo. If you win, you win, if you lose, you lose. So what? At the end of the day it is a game, relax and you will enjoy it more. You haven't even played for very long and you play one half of the game. Don't expect to be a pro player just because you've watched someone play it on twitch and moan about the game. Majority of SWF aren't very good either they are just playing with their friends. I don't understand why people get upset by teabagging? It doesn't do anything. A lot will just use it to get the killer focus rather than the weak link of the team.

As for the game slowly dying, it isn't.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

When Wraith gets burnt by a flashlight, he gets stunned for like 5 seconds. Any competent survivor will be LONG gone by then

The person I was responding to was saying the burning was fine but all it should do is unvckoak him and not stun him. Which is why I asked what the point of a survivor doing it would be? Maybe read the full thread instead of just stating the obvious about what currently happens and thinking you're the smart one.

It can still counter, but I don't think it should stun. Like just reveal. Wraith is already a rather weak killer. In many cases, the survivor can get the burn faster than you can uncloak, so you can't even defend against it.

What benefit is there to bringing you out of your cloak? I stop to burn you with my torch, you catch up with me and rather than ring your bell with slow down etc you just walk right up to me and hit me???? What use would that be to the survivor????

"Please hit me Wraith, I'll even uncloak you for it."

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234084#Comment_1234084

Thats not how the game works. I can get a double pip as survivor while dying and only doing 1 gen. I can get a double pip on killer with 0 survivors dead. I can lose a pip while fixing all 5 gens and escaping, and I can lose a pip by hooking survivors 12 times(aka, a 4k) Hooking isnt the main and only objective, fixing gens isnt the main and only objective. There are 4 main objectives for each side. Only doing 1 of them and escaping while the killer and other survivors do all 4 objectives equally, then that 1 survivor doesnt deserve the body block escape.

    As a killer:

    1. protecting gens for as long as possible, at least 9 minutes
    2. Chase and hit survivors
    3. hook survivors
    4. kill survivors

    As a survivor:

    1. fix gens asap
    2. self-heal/self-unhook/break free from struggle/escape
    3. being chased
    4. healing/unhooking others

Yeah, fixing gens is the one way to escape, so 50% of survivor objectives are related to fixing gens and the other 2 are related to that objective. Killers have 2 opposing objectives, and once they start hooking, they have 3 opposing objectives.

I don't really care about the ranking system. I am already rank 1, it means very little to me if I lose a pip, safety pip, gain 1 or2 pips. I'm there to play a game and have fun.

If you're double pipping without killing anyone then why are you crying about survivors getting a "free escape" when you have been unable to kill anyone?

You specify healing and unhooking others. You know protection hits are also a thing don't you? The thing you want removed from the exit gate for your participation kill.

As for the gatekeeper emblem that changed recently. It isn't protect all gens for the first 9 minutes anymore. There is an element of stopping the exit gates involved now too, as the devs expect killers to lose gens in early game after the ruin change. I don't really follow the idea of 3 opposing objectives, chase, hit, hook and kill are all the same thing. You have to chase a survivor to hit him, you have to hit him twice to hook him, you have to hook him (up to)3 times to kill him. They aren't opposing, they're very much in line with one another.

Your idea makes no sense, making excuses as to why there are 4 people alive in endgame won't change the fact that ad a killer you failed all of your objectives. All of them. Why should you be handed a kill for playing ######### in a round? The survivor who got "carried" shouldn't die because you want them to. If you want them to die, you have to get that ######### not cry at the devs until they hand you one every round.

  • It is the one single counter to his ability and speed boost from uncloaking. It can only be done with an item that won't even last that long anyway. If you see a load of torches in the lobby, play someone else? Use Franklin's to use the torches up sooner? People claim survivors always want killers nerfed for stupid reasons but all I see is killers whining for buffs and this one being particularly dumb because in one game they kep getting burnt by a torch. Jesus....

Except they have worked together as a team, completed any objectives they had and are on their way out of the exit. An open exit is survivor sided because they have won by that point. A closed exit gate is very much killer sided, you know a survivor has to open one of them and you might be able to get a hook from an attempts opening it. The very idea that an open exit gate should be dangerous is dumb beyond belief but the justification for it is being desperate for a kill is just.... embarrassing to be honest. Kill them sooner. Stop being a rubbish killer.

Oh, lets say I got everyone at least hooked once, but they had 3 brand new parts and fixed 3 gens in a very quick and strategic way, preventing any 3 gen from being formed while also running DS, Unbreakable, BT and Adrenaline. Then they unhook their bad teammate and body block me during the way, switching over and over again. Do you really think that bad teammate deserved the escape after being protected? All it takes is 1 survivor being better than the killer to protect 3 bad survivors.

You have everyone hooked once at the end of the game. You have 33% of your hook objective completed and the survivors have done 100% of their objectives and you class them escaping as "free" and "unfair". Wow....

That one person could have ######### up all game and basically been carried by his team. The only other way to go about it was to tunnel and facecamp earlier in the game, but that behaviour shouldnt be encouraged. If someone is gonna be downed otherwise and people come to walk in the way, they should be at risk. An unhook around a killer is often a 1 for 1 trade off, healing someone up from being downed while the killer is around is a 1 for 1 trade off. Why should body blocking in the exit gate be any different? Heck, you could even grant them survival and altruism points for doing so.

Because they have completed all of their objectives. It doesn't matter whether someone has been carried or not the team has worked together and completed their objectives. You on the other hand have failed to protect gens, you have failed to repeatedly down/hook people and you have failed to stop the exit gates opening. You have failed at all your objectives every step of the way in the game but you think you should be handed a participation kill at the exit gates and you'd be happy with that?

There is no way you get morid 60% of the time. I am a rank 1 survivor and I haven't seen a mori in weeks. Killers never run them because they depip or black pip and most killers like me have an honour code where we just don't run them.

    Bullshit.

Rank 1 survivor. There have been multiple instances recently where I am having killers play ebony moris game after game.

The other night on PC I played 5 games, 3 had an ebony mori in them. All of them were tunnel off the first hook and mori.

Thats the entire thing tho. If the killer is in a chase of an injured person, he has no interest in going towards an exit gate, as he can get that injured person, then proxy-camp that person to guarantee a kill. If the killer is chasing a healthy person and refrains from attacking untill he reaches the exit gates, then you can still have 3 people body block and in case you have a flashlight, blind the killer and escape all 4. But the EGC is supposed to be dangerous for survivors. It only makes sense for the exit gates to remain more dangerous. And perhaps it should require 2-3 seconds before the exposed status kicks in the first time you enter, the whole reason is to get an idea to make exit gate camping for survivors not a free escape. The killer is supposed to increase in pressure and power when the EGC started.

If there are 3 people at the exit and you're chasing the other who is injured and people come to take a hit? What was free about this escape? They have done all 5 gens, they have possibly got both exit gates open, if you had NOED they have done all totems, what part of the escape has been free? What you're asking for in being exposed in the exit gate is a free kill. You've done ######### all round and now they are all going to escape but if they were exposed you would be able to get one. The hits you get handed to you for free by body blocking at the exit should be enough free points for you. Try again next round.

  • I had it happen to me once, all I did was run around the map laughing, did 1 unhook and then at the end of the match I gave him the kill as it was unfair that I had this speed boost. The killer reported me for hacking and claimed I was abusing it???? One unhook that the killer was nowhere near is classed as abusing it????? Before handing him a kill.

i play on both pc and ps4 ,i got the Achievement on pc before the killer could close the hatch but i tried on ps4 welp it is almost impossible it should be changed but it most likely wont be.

if anyone got this tell us how you did it.

I think the issue is that the achievement is still technically possible so Sony doesn't allow them to change the achievement. I am not sure where I read this though? It is stupid and does pretty much require asking the killer to let you do it. Which can only happen if they message you first now.

And who exactly are "you killer mains"? I am survivor 70% of the time, mostly solo. But i played my fair share of swf games, and i know that even a casual group gets way too much power over the direction the game is taking by comms alone.

The fact is the game is not balanced around constant communication, and to deny that this is a heavy advantage, just shows how biased you are. I at least play both sides, and have an idea what its like.

I also play both sides. I don't lobby dodge, don't camp, don't tunnel. Red ranks, both sides. Nice try at saying I am biased though.

  • @sulaiman said:

When swf is not unfair, why are a lot of swf-players against showing swf in the lobby?

Because they are afraid of killers dodging.

But why is that, if nothing is unfair about additional communication?

That makes zero sense. If it said SWF in lobbies killers would cry and dodge endlessly. It isn't anything to do with SWF eing unfair it is because killers are scared of SWF because there are SOME really good teams. The way most of you killer mains make out it is every team of survivors you go up against that are pro players and that just isn't the case. Even this thread is dumb, "I got 25 SWF groups in a row" based on what? The items? The names? The cosmetics? Just ready up and play the ######### game, you whiny little bitches.

  • Playing Freddy is basically easy mode. Whether you're red rank or not.

What is your suggestion? tThat survivors can't see you with it to make your game even easier?

  • So someone should have a perk slot be completely useless all round because you are desperate for a kill in endgame?

  • @johnmwarner said:

It actually was though, check old quotes from... the... devs and mods. The narrative changed once people figured out how many ways you could abuse DS.

I play killer/survivor and I can’t blame killers for hating DS

It is a perk that can be used to avoid tunnelling right off the hook but it isn't built to just do that. It is a 1 minute timer. That's it. There are no restrictions on what can and can't be done with that 1 minute timer. 5 second stun for an entire perk slot is not OP in the slightest. Especially now the new map updates are going to make playing killer easy as ######### anyway. Chase survivor around one loop, chase them to the dead zone between loops, down them and then hook.

I very rarely get hit by DS and when I do I shrug it off. So what? It is done now. It can't come up in endgame and if it is endgame and they escape, so what? Just a game.

  • @Yrakaz4 said:

The title is the name of a perk idea given through another discussion that i wanted to shed more light on. I lost the comment so i hope i do this person's idea justice.

Now You See Me is designed to be an anti-camping perk. After a killer is within 30 meters of the hooked survivor for 20 seconds the aura of a hook will illuminate across the map in which the hung survivor will teleport to. This hook is shown to all survivors 5 seconds before teleportation occurs.

The numbers can be adjusted of course, this is a rough scetch with a bad memory, ha. But this provides a chance for the fellow survivors to get be altruistic without playing into a campers game. It helps that first survivor to not wait 10+ minutes for a lobby just to get face camped on first hook and depip. It forces the killer to also progress in his hunting category. It encourages BP on both sides.

In my opinion i would consider this being an all around game mechanic instead of a perk to encourage categories I have already mentioned, but killers that surprisingly enjoy camping would throw a fit. So as a perk a killer would have to go into a match wondering if he cab camp or not. It gives a both side possibility.

Finally, i apologize to he/she that originally came up with this that i cannot give you credit. But i too am a fan of the idea.

It was me who posted it in the facecamping thread a few days back :)

The people who give the answer of "doing gens" is the counter to camping are stupid. It isn't a counter to camping at all. It is avoiding doing anything about camping and just carrying on with the objective. It ruins the game for that person sat on the hook whilst the killer just stands there, irrelevant of how many gens get done whilst they are hanging there, their game is still ruined. To suggest doing gens is a counter is stupid. If the shoe was on the foot and survivors could do something that meant the killer was locked in to watching survivors do gens for 2 minutes and they were powerless to stop it, they would just disconnect, give up on the game but when it is the survivor they are just expected to accept it?

  • @venom12784 said:

@MPUK wow getting called another name. the camping discussion is pointless because the devs have already said it's a viable strat.

You get more points for multiple hooks because your doing more work . The hook timer doesn't make sense because how would a survivor die if there wasn't a timer.

Like I have said before it's the killers job to kill. Let me expand on that some more it doesn't matter how the killer kills as long as it is done. Having a perk where the entity moves the hooked survivor cause the killer is camping is not sure mething that fits into the narrative of the game.

If you want to counter camping with out doing gens like everyone says to do all you have to do is body block the killer while someone else unhooks. Having borrowed time helps as well.

OK so you get more points for more work. Why is the emblem system linked to how many hooks you do? Is that just because you did more work too? It isn't at all, it is because the devs want you to be hooking people multiple times, not camping the ######### out of them.

Does standing still next to a hook fit the narrative of the game? Or is that OK because you're spinning bullshit and it is one of your plays?

You think the survivor's objective is to not get caught and if they do they have failed so this is a pointless discussion. The survivor's objective is to get 5 gens done whilst avoiding the killer. If you get chased you will go down eventually since the killer moves quicker at base speed(except nurse) and then you have the 3 bloodlust tiers to max out on top of that for the really ######### players. All a survivor can do is buy time. If they get caught they haven't failed and it shouldn't be game over because the killer wants to standstill. I explained why the timer existed, you've avoided the actual justification of it in favour talking a load more twaddle about the killer's "Job". YOU'RE PLAYING A GAME, WAKE UP!!!!!

I'm done responding to you now, it is just boring crap coming from a standard killer main who avoids everything that is said to him to waffle about jobs and work. Go put a decent amount of hours in to both sides and then say you support camping because it is so fun as a survivor as you wait on the hook "punishing" the killer.

  • @EntityDrudge said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1216549#Comment_1216549

So basically you just want the killer to let you off the hook. Lmfao

Sorry? Can you just copy and paste where in my post I said that? That would be great, thanks. I think you will struggle to find that point though.

It is pointless talking to people like you who would rather standstill than use the tracking perks you have equipped to go and chase someone else our of fear someone will get unhooked.

  • @venom12784 said:

@MPUK if the killer had to hook someone three times to kill them then why does someone die on the first hook if no one unhooks them? Also where is it written that it has to be 3 hooks?

Honestly I don't care about keys or moris I think both are fine in the game. Obviously some people have fun camping that is why some people do it. Like you said "they get a hard on for ruining people's games" so they are enjoying what they are doing.

Yes I admit it sucks to be camped but when I at survivor and get camped it's whatever because my team will get out I had to be the sacrifice for then to survive.

This is actually the lamest attempt at justifying it. Why do you get significantly lower points as a killer for doing 1 hook and camping the ######### out of them? You're not fulfilling your objective, you know you're not you're just desperate to try and make out camping is playing the game properly. It is trash players like yourself who spout this nonsense which makes the entire camping discussion pointless.

The timer exists to add pressure to the other survivors to rescue them, that way they are off gens and making their way across the map where they have a chance of running in to a killer and getting downed themselves. Otherwise, when someone got hooked you would just do all the gens as they sat on the hook waiting and then open a door, unhook the survivor and all take protection hits on the way out of the door. It is very obvious it isn't there because 1 hook per survivor is the killer's objective.

The same way the wiggle bar isn't their for survivors to consistently escape, it is there to add pressure to a killer to get them to a hook rather than walk across the whole map to the basement.

Ruin didn't boost killers past a certain point. Good survivors didn't even get affected by ruin cause they learned to hit great skill checks. Ruin was needed because what little time it bought was precious to most killers. Ruin got nerfed now no one even needs to counter it. The whole reason ruin was vital is because gens get done too fast. Most of the killers are slow, lack map pressure, some require time to setup and powers that don't help them in a chase. The devs made a half ass attempt to correct this with ruin. Years go by, they forgot why it was in place so they remove it. Now you got what we have now. Red survivors that don't know how to deal with face camping and whine for changes.

Keep arguing with me but I'm done. I should just get myself banned from the forums so I have no reason to try to convince people my reasoning. I'm going back to whatever I was playing. Reply if you want, know that I won't read it. See you in the fog.

Of course it boosted killers higher than they should have been otherwise these people would still be doing just as well now. Anyone can get 4 kills and rank up when a totem holds people back because everyone knows that killers get stronger the longer a game runs because there are less pallets survivors can use. As for it not affecting red rank survivors that is bollocks as well. It is pretty rare that someone hits every single great skill check that pops up. Either being distracted or just reacting a bit too slowly so in those cases the killer got a 5% regression then there are people who just can't hit them consistently, that doesn't mean they aren't a "red rank" as they are more than competent at running the killer etc.

I have played plenty of games a clown in red rank and ended up with 4 kills. Yes I may lose some at the start but you can turn things around even without ruin. I stopped using ruin long before the change just because mine was gone before I would even see a survivor in 7 out of 10 games so it became completely worthless. Plenty of people stream those slow, low pressure killers you talk about and do just fine even against red ranks. The problem is that most people who play killer expect to have4kills every game otherwise the game is balanced in survivor favour.

There is no dealing with facecamping you're talking about doing gens and leaving that person on the hook. That isnt dealing with it, that is working around it, dealing with it would put a stop to it. What I am saying is why should someone be left with a really ######### experience of sitting on the hook for minutes because the killer can't just play properly?

Don't read it, I don't really care. That is a standard tactic on here by people who play solely or mostly killer. Mouth off about how much harder it is for them and that is why they use ######### "tactics" to try and win then disappear when someone questions the validity of their excuses.

Wow imagine taking irl concepts and trying to force them into a game.

Ofc you wiuldnt have to hook someone 3 times as a killer. But IT'S A ######### GAME. It needs mechanics and objectives.

Also, old ruin does the same thing it does now, only worse. It still promotes SURVIVORS TO LEARN WHERE BONES ARE, even though they to longer have a reason to learn great skill checks. The only difference, is now good survivors have an EASIER time with ruin, and newer survivors have no reason to learn its counterplay.

    Also, DO ######### BONES.

Also, if being camped and tunneled "triggers" this kind of response, maybe you should try playing something else. Because it's going to happen. And if you and your teammates arent working around/punishing it, theres really. Nothing to complain about.

If YOU play YOUR GAME well, and ignore the bullshit, and dont DC, you'll rank up past the people who face camp all day. Because that doesnt get you very high.

I'm not trying to force real world mechanics in to a game. I fully understand that it is a game and objective are required. It is the people who make excuses for tunnelling and camping to "secure their kill" Are the ones who make up stupid "This is what a killer would do in real life" arguments.

You accept objectives are required but then seem to imply camping is fine which it isn't. It is a ######### play. It is something to complain about as it ruins games for the people involved. There is no "punishing" it. The killer doesn't give a #########, they have ruined at least one game and that excites them. Meanwhile, the person on the hook is punished for wanting to play a game and being matched with a bellend.

I have no idea why you are now waffling on about totems. EvilJoshy is the one who tried to make excuses as to why ruin had boosted survivors and I am saying it previously boosted killers. Nothing here requires you banging on about doing totems. I already do totems thanks. I don't need some lunatic who can't read a full post and understand what people are talking about telling me to do them. Irrelevant point.
