Yes there's all kinds of differences in the game and I can agree it wouldn't be exactly the same but experimenting with the ai technology is similar in some ways I'm sure and that was what I was getting at is being able to make it a working thing on mobile means it's very possible for us to see it soon here as well if that's the direction they're choosing for handling DC
I hope to see a bot on the main game soon as well, especially since it seems like they are not finding a solution to making the DC penalty timer "hacker-safe" and they have to switch it off and on at times

Well it would be easy now that they know how to make it work in mobile but I "lol" with you on the copy and paste , if it were that simple everyone would be a dev
Yes and no, you can say that they already know the things that in the AI has to do, but keep in mind that DBD mobile and the main game run on different servers, and the main game was not even designed to work on dedicated server to begin with
Go figure all the differences between DBD mobile and main DBD 😂

I swear some of the things people say....
All these suggestions where people are like "Oh if they're in a SWF, no one should be able to use the same item"
Or, "They should just deactivate Object of Obsession if a survivor is in a SWF"
Please tell me forum gurus, how do you go about programming this into the game? Like I don't think some people realize how ridiculous it would be to code some of the things they ask for.
So if my friends and I enter a lobby and one of us has a medkit, all of my medkits become inaccessible?
Lol yes, once I went into an argument with some who was claiming that since bots were in DBD mobile, adding them to the main game was an easy thing to do since "The code is already there, they just need to copy and paste" 🤦♂️

Basically the body blocker was on death hook. The person being protected was on second hook. The body blocker also was healthy while protected person was injured. It wasn't the right play since I was stalking mid chase. It was a dumb decision that got him killed
Well in that situation I agree with you, it was not worth the risk of bodyblocking, I was just pointing out a few situations in which it might be worth it

Yes It does cause they can do her map traversal better and in less set up time.
It is not the same map traversal at all unless you add in specific perks
When Hag teleports, she knows at least a survivor is there, she knows where they went, and if she is close enough when the trap triggers she gets a hit just because of that
Yes, you need to set up your traps unlike other killers, but she has an undeniable strong teleport ability which is different from the one of other killers
Freddy (and Demo) can teleport to gens (portals for Demo), but it is not an instant teleport, and survivor can get a lot of distance before the killer is even there
Nurse can teleport nearly istantly, but she has to guess where a survivor is unless she has it in her FOV, and if she misses she's fatigued
Spirit and Billy simply have fast map traversal, but they can only patrol gens (even tho they do it fast) if they have no idea where survivors are, and is not an instant teleport like Hag's
She's strong, you can say she's not the strongest killer in DBD, and I could agree with you, but you can't say she's not a great killer
-
@MrBuffalo said:

Okay But like...so do 4 other killers. What makes hag so great?
She has great map traversal and control if played right.
Does the fact that other killers have the same potential means she sucks?
-
Well it depends on the situation
If it's late in the game it could make sense, there is a chance Myers doesn't have his tier 3 ready, you can do so to defend a guy which is on death hook, you can do it while you have DS/BT active, you can do it just for your last WGLF stack..
There are a couple of scenarios in which it could make sense, while of course it stays a high risk thing to do
-
You're looking at the wrong section of the tally screen, BPs and rank are not correlated at all, check the Emblem page and see what you missed

So you really think that having cross play working how you think it works makes sense?
Call it a guess, I'm just saying that that is how it worked on PC between Steam and Windows Store, I don't see why they would implement it in a different way

(I’m on ps4) I’m rank 9 about to be rank 8 and I keep playing agains red ranked (usually 1 and 2) pc played and getting slugged. I like the challenge of versing good killers but this is just annoying I’ve versed 3 pc red ranked players in a row and got slugged everytime lol even with good teammates around rank 4 to 8 we can’t handle it
I don't know why would you say that this is a crossplay issue..
A killer of higher rank than you slugged your team and you losto. How do you know they were a PC player and not an xbox or even a switch player? Are console players unable to win by slugging? Just because someone from another platform behaves like a dick it doesn't mean it's a crossplay issue..

where have the devs said this, Lycidas? i can't seem to find it. help me out.
I have no idea where the exact post is, but on PC we had crossplay long before it was implemented for console and that's how it always worked
Plus, picture this: I have crossplay on and I get in a lobby with someone who has crossplay off (from my same platform), now since this guy doesn't want to play with other platforms it's like I have crossplay off as well, and I have to wait more to find a game because of a random guy with crossplay off
It would make sense to match that guy only with people with crossplay off
-
@pixelfixed said:
no, it just means one person has crossplay set to off. the room has to get populated somehow. happens to me all the time on solo survivor. i haven't heard anything about them being completely different pools.
No, if you have crossplay set to on you are not able to play with people who have cross play switched off
Anyway this "method" is not accurate at all since now you can play SWF with survivors from other platforms

Damn, it's almost like in a game like DBD the platform you play on is not the main factor that influences your game skills
I mean, apart from the "PC nurses and huntresses" argument the only people claiming that PC players would have an unfair advantage were console players, while in reality it's all down to how each different person plays the game, indipendently from the platform they play on
-

I'm loving it too honestly. I was super paranoid about playing killer against PC players expecting to be easily beaten, but it was a lot of fun to go against them. It feels like a whole new set of skill was added into the game. I just wish that we could at least message them to say GG because one of the survivors was pretty decent at loops and made me really work for it.
Props to you for actually trying it for a few matches before deciding to opt out!
I really wish they add the chat on consoles as well, how are we supposed to communicate otherwise? I get most of the times people are toxic in the chat, but it's the only way of telling other players if they played good or not

Mouse And keyboard are just flat out better. Even a lower end PC will out perform a console. So, it's not assuming there will be a disadvantage. It's a fact. And as I said above, add in hackers and I'm good.
Survivors are actually easier to control with a controller since the main movement you have to do is "run in a circle"
Some killer are not but that should not matter since you don't compete with other killers in the same match.
Ah yes, the hacker argument, would you trust me if I were to say that the whole thing is a lot exaggerated? No way? 100% hacker population on PC?

It's stubborn to not want to play at a disadvantage?
It's stubborn to assume that you would be at a disadvantage without having tried playing with the cross play enabled, and refusing to do that because "PC more powerful than PS4, game unfair"
Have you considered that PCs come in different performances? Even mid-end PCs have framedrops, it's not something that makes the game unplayable against someone who has a better PC, and for sure it is not something that is worth disabling cross-play for in my opinion, but you do you

Both perks that require DLC and 50 billion bloodpoints to both unlock and actually implement ... Huh... Coincidence?
1- Both perks and bloodpoints are free to get (furtive chase can be obtained from the shrine and Oni can be purchased with shards)
2- These 2 perks are not in ANY way mandatory in order to complete that particular challenge
3- 50 billion bloodpoints? Are you mad? Getting a character at level 50 costs 2 and a half million bloodpoints max

Have you read the other half of my response in which I clearly say why some challenges have to be completed in more than 2 matches?
-
May I introduce you to Nemesis and Furtive Chase.
You don't even need to "master" the tactic in order to hook 15 times the obsession in 2 games
Plus, if every challenge were to be completed in 1-2 games, you would need to play A LOT more games to grind the last tiers of the rift, and trust me, you don't want to complete all your challenges while you're at tier 50..
-
@xenotimebong said:
You just have to do this challenge last, set it and wait for a game where it’s an easy 4 man escape. Wait in the exit gates until all other survivors have left and then leave, hoping that they don’t also have the same challenge.
These RNG challenges suck but at least it isn’t another “creep around the killer for 5 minutes” challenge that forces you to throw the game.
From what I understood you don't need a 4 man escape to do this challenge..you should be able to gain 1 point towards it each time a survivor leaves the trial before you die/escape, so you could do it even in 3 different trials I believe?
Am I getting this wrong?

I want to know how to spend my money since there's summer sale and I can buy something different instead of the pass if it's getting launched later than this one ends (since now it lefts only 6 days till tome 3 is closed)
Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for the responses
Have a good day :)
Suggestion: you can wait until you finish the rift before buying the premium pass, no need of rushing and buying it as soon as it gets released

that's just lazy, just do a bp requirement.
Done it's fixed. Survivor won't suicide on hooks and it will stop being the bs that it is right now
Survivors would suicide anyway.
I'd do it.
I need 15K BPs to get a crown? Good, as soon as I know I have them, good luck have fun, I'm out of here and to the next crown.
Not having a requirement for the killer side prevents toxicity (mori/camping/tunneling) and allow good hearted people to let survivors get their crowns without losing anything.
I've been letting people go with their crown the whole event.
Blame people who want to ruin other people experience, not the event.

I believe these are all licenced and can not get the crown.

nobody cares about the stack of points you get from BBQ, you want to see where they are mate xD
the 25% of their team is taken away just when its up to soloq players, because in SWF nobody ever dcs unless they wanna exploit hatch mechanic or avoid bbq/pop procs. I don't rely on those persk, they ARE the only way to play this game xD go ask the best killer players if BBQ and POP are not that important in a gameplay of a killer... if you say differently, you clearly don't play killer at red rank mate...
I was not referring to the 25% bonus, I was talking about the auras as well.
I know BBQ and POP are important, noone can deny that, but no, those are not the only way of playing killer efficiently, even at red ranks.
Yes, if you lose a stack you need to compensate for it, but again, you should not rely on them 100% to find survivors, otherwise it means you have COMPLETELY no idea where survivors could be, and that's a problem you should work on.

Mate... it IS the end of the world... not bbqing means you don't know where people is doing gens AND not popping means you can't properly regress gens to have pressure and slow down the game... trust me, this is a HUGE survivor exploit...
Meh, sorry, I don't agree with you.
If you rely so strongly on a perk that losing a stack of it destroys your game probably you have some work to do on how you play, since yes, you lose a stack, but survivors lose 25% of their team in a snap, that's huge blow for them (I'm talking about an early-game DC, since I think you were referring to that as well).

The worst part is there used to be a bug that actually caused this effect to happen.
A BUG, ACTUALLY IMPROVES THE GAMEPLAY EXPERIENCE. Literally if they let it happen every time someone DC's there'd be nothing to lose, and everything to gain for game health.
And probably they reversed it either because there were some exploit killer side tied to it, or it was not so easy to get it work properly.

Here's a post about a year ago which mentioned the husk system the developers wanted to implement. IIRC they said on the forums it would auto-sacrifice when hooked.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mquQq7wUWL4
Mobile actually has BOT killers and survivors take over seamlessly in the event of a disconnect.
Oh well, then maybe they already know what to do and are working towards it, IMO a husk is too exploitable by the killer, but we'll see.
Yeah I don't want to get started with the Mobile bots, I already had a discussion with a guy who didn't understood why the fact that if they work on mobile it doesn't mean they would work on the PC/console version as well.
Let's just say that they are different games that run on different systems, bots could work in both, but there is a lot of work to do (yes I'm hoping they will come to the main game too).

If survivors got stuck in Dying State until bleedout/hooked/mori'd I think that'd be better than an auto-EGC sacrifice.
Auto-Sacrifice still means quitters screw the killer out of hooks and associated perks. People could DC on the way to the hook during EGC to prevent blood warden which was something that actually happened to me about a year ago. I saw a comically sweaty 4-SWF Survivor Team Six SWAT team on Twitch who would always DC on death hook to deny BBQ aura reading and POP activation since they're dead anyway. (This was before they implemented the DC penalties however.)
Dying State "husks" can't be exploited since there'd be no change in the outcome of the match via a DC. If a survivor quits it's the exact same as if they went AFK, and they're stuck in the Dying State so even if the killer ignores them they'll bleed out after 4 minutes. If someone quits on the way to the hook I can still hook them and get my perk activation.
And what happens if the survivor was never hooked before? Should he go straight to the sacrifice? Should the other survivor be able to save them? What if the killer picks him up and drop them 3 times, should they treat it differently and never let the husk break free?
There is for sure a way of making it work, I know, but in a tech company you have to always take in account the cost-benefit ratio and all the hours of reasoning/coding you have to sunk in developing something like that.
Plus, if in some games you can't activate a perk once it's not the end of the world, chances are you already got your BBQ stack, and of course they should give the killer Sacrifice points for each DC.

I know, it doesn't guarantee that the last survivor doesn't get hatch, but it wouldn't be balanced otherwise.

with "adding an animation" you mean one last thing you can still do to them in before they get trap door or?
Basically, what happens rn if you DC is that your body falls dead on the ground, what I suggested is that instead of doing that, if you DC you have the Entity coming out of the ground sacrificing you like it does at the end of the EGC.
Simple as that, it delays just a little bit the opening of the hatch giving the killer some time, that's it.

And what risks do you suppose they should put? They can’t make it so if someone dcs then no one gets hatch cause that’s unfair to everyone there’s no way to really give the advantage to killers cause that would make the game even more unbalanced
Glad you asked, yes, I agree, keeping the hatch shut would be completely unbalanced, here is my suggestion, if you want to check it out, feel free to give your feedback on it.

The risk of it being exploited by the killer is really high.
Probably simply adding an animation to people who DC could be enough to give the killer enough time to find the last survivor/go to the hatch.

If DCing is against the rules then why is it an option to leave the game?
It is there for when you REALLY need it (like a real life emergency), not if you want to be a dick to another player.
The option can stay there, it being there is not a problem. The problem comes out when people quit the game to give their allies an advantage, which should not be possible to do without some risks.
And before you say it, NO, losing bps, pip and waiting some time before joining a new game is not a RISK, that is the PUNISHMENT.

As promised, here's the second story thread.
We were up against a Ghostface on the Wretched Shop. My build is a bunch of aura reading perks, but, fortunately, he didn't seem to use his stealth much, so I was able to keep an eye on him most of the time.
He got a good start, managed to down and hook multiple people, myself included, but we kept pumping out gens. We (me+SWF teammate) also destroyed every totem we could find, but, as usual, the others didn't.
Last gen pops, Nea goes down, we get the notification about NOED. After he hooks her, I finish opening the gate that Jeff left at 99% and we escape, because we're not suicidal and would like to escape.
Jeff stayed behind to try to mount a rescue without even finding NOED first. Obviously he died and then who does he blame? My SWF teammate and I, naturally, because we didn't go on a suicide mission alongside him.
I told him we weren't going to try to unhook against an active NOED and that if he didn't want Nea to die, maybe they should've tried to destroy some totems.
Moral of the story: break those ######### totems, for the love of the Entity.
OR leave unless you have BT/Deliverance/DS to save your ass when the killer downs you.
Another tactic that works pretty well against NOED is destroying the very hidden totems during the match, and leaving the obvious ones for the end in case the killer has it.
My favourite thing to do tho is starting to work on a dull totem a few moments before the last gen pops. When you see it ligthing up right before breaking is SO ######### SATISFYING.

While I'm not encouraging or advocating this behavior, sometimes rules have to be broken. A plan only survives first contact with the enemy. When people actually play then game, things change.
"Sometimes rules have to be broken"
Sometimes, yes, but that doesn't mean that doing so should guarantee a win.
The thing I proposed (Playing the EGC animation whenever someone DCs, thus DELAYING a bit the opening of the hatch if there were only 2 survs left) does not guarantees the win to noone: the killer could be too far from the remaining survivor to close the hatch (or could even not be able to find it) and the survivor could be found before the hatch opens.

If or when they down the last survivor you mean. Which could be 2-3 minutes later.
The hatch mechanic is crap but I'm not going to spend 3 minutes on the floor so the killer benefits from it.
Slugging is not against the rules, while disconnecting is, and if a survivor can benefit from someone on their team disconnecting something is not right.
Plus, slugging already comes with some risks, and I think that people abusing an against-the-rules tactic should not be one of them.
Hatch mechanic could be tweaked a bit, but I think that at the moment it is enoghly balanced except when someone disconnects, while I also agree with you that they could add also a "Suicide" option if a survivor is left on the ground for too much time and the killer is clearly ignoring them (something like "Survivors can kill themself if they have gained at least 2 stationary crows while on the ground")
-
@Todgeweiht said:
A good proposal I saw was that the entity EGC animation should play every time a player disconnects, that way you would have a few seconds to down the player camping the hatch
I proposed that as well!
It only hurts people who are abusing this tech, and is far less exploitable by the killer than an "afk survivor" husk (if I were the killer I would simply ignore it and never kill it, hatch never spawns and I have all the time of the world to find the last survivor)
Here is my proposal:

This conversation has been brought up to me and my friends and it's personally screwed up. You don't see it too often, because why would anyone want to play him unless you wanted to facecamp, but when we see "Smartface" we're always like:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1BFY1B6Y0UDR/interesting.gif
If you really wanted a white murderer to wear a black woman's skin so bad that you'd complain if that option was taken away, you've got some things to sort out in your head.
Meh, I don't see the problem with Claudette's face in particular.
Otherwise why would it be okay for him to wear Jake's face? (I'm picking him because he's the other non-white original survivor)
It is a cool thing imho that they added those kind of cosmetics for him since it is basically his lore, and I'm pretty sure that BHVR already had this kind of arguments before adding Claudette's face to the bunch, they usually don't take very lightly issues tied to racism, and rightly so.
I personally wouldn't care since I don't even own Bubba so nothing would be "taken away" from me, but I still think that there should be a balance in understanding what's racist and what's not.
Bubba wearing the faces of his victims is not.
Maybe it would have been if only Claudette's face was the available one, but it's not the case.

Because murdering teens for the entertainment of the Entity is completely appropriate..
Seriously tho, Leatherface is a mentally disturbed killer who wears a mask made with the skin of his victims, and removing ONE because of its different colour seems wrong imho.

The Dc penalty for people that dont dc is extreme to not that im against it im just saying. The game cant recognize when someone dcs as a rage quit or because of the servers but thise people still get a penalty but when its down to 2 survivors and one is caught the dc 9 times out of 10 was intentional
I've been disconnected randomly from a match before, and I'm of the opinion that the DC penalties are fine as they are.
This post is not to discuss about DC penalties tho, I just wanted to suggest a somewhat simple change that could help mitigate a problem caused by people abusing a (IMO) broken mechanic.

I highly doubt you're being serious so I'd like to know what issues you see with the solution I proposed, maybe there's something which I didn't think of.

I agree, using some sort of sacrifice animation for DC's would balance out this tactic. The remaining survivor doesn't get an instant hatch escape, but also isn't unfairly punished if some random decides to tactical disconnect for them (or just straight-up rage quits).
Killer gets the advantage of being able to immediately hunt for the last survivor during the animation, but also isn't necessarily guaranteed a free 4th kill because of a penultimate DC.
Basically, it makes the game progress as though the second-to-last survivor was sacrificed on hook, which is probably the most mutually fair way for this scenario to play out.
Exactly! If the second-to-last survivor DCs the last one could still get hatch if the killer doesn't where they were, so it should work well in all cases, while also discouraging the "hatch tech" since it wouldn't be so safe to do anymore.

This has been confirmed by the Dev team, the reason why you only see "trash" perks in the shrine strongly depends on what you consider "trash".
This week shrine has been Predator, Technician, Dead Hard and Coulrophobia, and idk about you but I think that saying that Dead Hard and Coulrophobia are trash means you never used them (I get it, Dead Hard is not performing well due to Dedicated Servers, but it's still a pretty meta perk)

That's why "You only won because of X" arguments doesn't make much sense most of the time.
The most ridiculous thing I heard was "Without the traps you would have lost" while I was playing Trapper. Well, duh? Am I supposed to win without using my power?
This thing is valid for both sides, ofc.

My man, I am sitting here plucking the strings of my guitar, how upset can I be.
I tend to be quite flavorful here on the forums. Don't mistake my tone and language for being legitimately upset, I am frustrated only within the bounds of the context and reasonably so, that's about it.
The entire point of the forums is to provide feedback, and feedback isn't always good or positive. That's the short of it
Maybe I misread your tone then, idk, it seemed like you were very (too much imo) sensitive about the topic.
Of course feedback can't be always positive, and I agree with most of the things you said about Devotion being meaningless rn, it has been brought up in the anniversary stream, so hopefully they'll think about it in the future.
