Feels to me like this is the killer version of DS' nerf - we generally understand why the first nerf happened (speed of regression and disabled in endgame, respectively) but the second one (dying after a kill and stun duration lessening) just feels like overkill. I don't use Ruin personally, I have never liked it, not when it was great skill checks or bust or after, so I'm not speaking from a place of "my favorite perk is nerfed," but it does seem really odd to me that a hex totem is now permanently removable without being done so by the survivors. It makes it an early game perk akin to Corrupt Intervention which is generally when it's least useful (can't patrol all 8 gens enough to get even the 200% regression to matter unless you're one of the top mobility killers). I dunno, just feels like Ruin's going to drop off the face of the earth.

Bubba and GF are the two where I definitely assume they're going to play scummy until they don't. It's never a surprise when Kindred shows me Bubba "mysteriously vanish after staying still" or to see a save against GF happen only for the rescuer to end up with a red circle almost instantly. It's a shame since I like versing both of them when they're played more fair/fun, but as is I dread seeing either of them.
-
One thing I've not been clear on - we know the catch up works for those at level 50 but with more perks than they should have at level 50, but does it also apply to those at P3 50 with all perks? Curious if that'll launch characters ahead or not.
-
I’m going to finish my killers since I only had Nemesis Huntress and Twins to go, but any thoughts about doing more survivors beyond my mains are out the window, that’s for sure. Really disappointed there wasn’t anything more.
-
I'll admit, it seems quite underwhelming. Bragging rights, sure, but it doesn't make up for 150 levels of lost items, add ons, offerings, etc...

Both are trash now. There are far more superior aura reading perks than BBQ. Now with the bonus bloodpoint incentive gone, the incentive to leave the hook also vanished.
The bonus healing of downed survivors from WGLF doesn´t justify its perk slot now. We´ll make it will take this role pretty quickly.
Honestly I see it mostly as a Thrilling Tremors buff. I already liked it more than BBQ on the "where am I going after this hook" front, so no longer missing 100% bonus BP means I have no reason not to run TT. I will miss the bonus bp though...

@Crowman said:
Off the Record only makes it harder to locate the survivor after hook. It does not make them immune to being grabbed.
Not sure why you want to nerf a perk no one really uses.
You should read the dev update, it's gotten way stronger https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/337
I agree by the by, it's the new free escape at the end of the game. 5 seconds of BT is fine if you don't hook directly next to the gate, a minute and a half...less so.
-
At bare minimum being farmed by a 3 man SWF is dead and gone with guaranteed BT off hook. No more ######### deciding 2k points from instant unhooks are enough for them. That alone is a nice buff to solo.
-
I'll take a single second of endurance over a second of super speed. Going to be a LOT harder to greed pallets now, and will come down to mindgames. Will the survivor press E to outplay the moment the killer doesn't have to lunge to hit them, or will they try to wait until the last second before they hit the pallet? There's more thinking involved than "ok, super speed as you pass the shack window and now EZ pallet" and I like it. It didn't nuke the perk from orbit but rather made it a true mindgame as opposed to EZ outplay.
-
Counterplay there is that 5 seconds isn't a super long time and DS is now completely deactivated once the exit gates are powered. If they made it longer than five seconds I'd be concerned but as is I think there's going to be a lot less "guaranteed escapes" than on the current system. Not too many hooks within a 5 second run of the exit gate zone.
-
I'm still digesting the post, but honestly? I like...most of what was shown. Sad to see the bp gain from bbq and wglf go, but that's honestly probably my biggest knee jerk "dislike" from the update. This is...this is big. And I think it's going to make for a healthier game once the dust settles, I really do.
-
I swear it's getting worse as time goes on - was only seeing it maybe once a killer game for a while, now it's several times a game regardless of if I'm killer or survivor.
-
The art team for the whole anniversary event absolutely nailed it - the masks are beautiful and the skins for Dredge/Haddie are both extremely well done. From a visual perspective, probably my favorite anniversary yet.
-
I'm fast approaching all killers P3 - have Freddy almost there and Nemesis, Huntress, and Twins as my last three. Technically put Pig and Artist at P2 50 for now so I can use them for flans since they got good builds by 50, but yeah. I'm also pressured to be done by the 30th because Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak comes out then and I will NOT want to still need to grind when that's available...at my current pace I should get it done this weekend, the anniversary's been amazing for that. That plus the double bloodpoint weekend are the only reasons I'm getting it done on time.

I tried that and yes I found more as survivor but every time when the killer saw the sparkle they tunneled me and camped until I was dead. Also I'm not inflexible as Killer most of the time I don't bother with survivors but when I do that gens fly and they leave before I can fully search.
Just want to chime in and say they changed it where killers don't see the sparkle from accepting the invite anymore, other than roughly the first five seconds from when you grabbed it. Not gonna defend them from camping/tunneling you out, but unless they saw you take the invite it probably wasn't fueled by that.
-
The other two images that didn't have MauriceLives had really large strings that kind of looked like codes, but putting them in verbatim didn't register as a valid code - anyone have any ideas on if there's something hidden there? Seems a bit obtuse to be a test name...
-
I've shifted to a mentality where no matter what side I'm playing, I start playing hard. Work on slamming gens if I'm survivor, and aim for 8 hooks 0 k on killer. If the other side is struggling or trying to have a chill game I'll back off and make sure everyone has fun - if they came to try hard, I don't let up the gas. First couple days of the event there were a lot of chill games...the longer the event goes on, the fewer of those there've been. And that's not to say that I'm always the one in control of the game, had some seal team 6 survivors and hyper tunnel killers, but if I start off assuming there's going to be a hard match I'm more likely to at least get an ok amount of points if I'm right, and if I'm wrong, then everyone leaves happy.

I couldn't answer earlier I'm afraid, we have confirmed that we have rebalanced the numbers now.
All your feedback is invaluable and whilst we might not be able to respond to things - we do always pay attention and bring it to the right ears.
Really appreciate it! Thank you - I know you’re prevented from saying a lot, was just trying to find an angle to get something, anything to confirm it wasn’t just being disregarded

yes it was a misunderstanding. But can confirm that the maximum a player can communicate to the overall Community Challenge is the individual amount on their own personal challenge.
I know you guys can’t give specifics, but can you at least say that you’ve taken community concern about the achievability of these challenges to be talked about? Because right now I think that’s the most disheartening part, feeling like there’s not going to even be a discussion about it
-
@Dhurl421 said:
This is probably a stupid question, but can you only do one or the other, and that's it? Or can you do the killer side and survivor side of the challenge, and contribute 80 total?
It’s collective, so once you do it on one side it’s done. Or you could do half on each.

Meanwhile I'm on Freddy burning all my FIFTH anniversary cakes on him and going in all caps "WHAT YEAR IS IT? MY CAKE IS STALE :(" after each game, trying for 8 hooks 0 kills throughout. Gotten a lot of laughs. Doesn't work every game and sometimes if people clearly just want a normal game I'll go for it, but yeah. Been having a good time.

Its really bad that you cant contribute MORE, back in my day when we had other community events, it was community effort. Not just well i did it 40 times, I cant do anymore. Please Mandy take this as feedback to the rest of the team, Community events are community the whole way.
Agreed - I was literally thinking to myself last night "eh, I kinda would like to get more BP from the other tome stuff but I want to help more than I want those, so I'll keep the community challenge on since people think it counts past the 40." Finding out that's not true just feels bad since it keeps me and others who are totally fine contributing more to help more - ESPECIALLY when you have to do your individual part to claim the rewards anyway so it's not like people can piggyback off us contributing more.

Yeah, that's my thought too, I mean I can only see the Steam Players (85k as of right now), but 750k Individual Players feels like a lot, the other 3 Quests take a few less with - 694.454, 625.000, 725.000 respectivly, so I really hope those Numbers add up, and we can make it, I need that Haddie Skin by yesteryear xD
My eyes are more on Dredge's stuff than Haddie's but I'm with you...I'm just worried since I know not everyone pays attention to Tome stuff, so we're relying on a lot of maybes from the broader community with us not able to over-contribute...

Unfortunately that is not the case.
I feel like expecting 750k unique players to each contribute 40 feels a bit hefty, judging from our progress thus far...

Mixed bag on survivor, wound up swapping for the night after my first game ever on Eryie ended after I got the achieve Gen done and then got hyper tunneled and Moried by the wraith while my teammates did…something other than gens. Saw more hardcore killers than casual, but saw two explicitly farm.
Killer Side I was running a rule of “play as normal as I can and 8 hook 0 k, then let them win.” Broke it one game when a team clearly were trying to ignore the event, but otherwise it was fun seeing who realized and who didn’t by the end. Probably will keep that up for a couple more days, then transition back to playing more normally…
-
Did you get them immediately or did you need to play more matches? Just so I know what I'm looking at.

If I'm running Spirit Fury Enduring I'm not as annoyed to wind up at Gideon, but once survivors figure it out it's just predrop city. Still nice to get some value before then though.

imo all of their latest maps have been duds. RPD sucked, Eyrie of Cringe sucked, Haddonfield rework sucked, and this new map, Garden of Pain sucks. All of them have unfair loops with no counterplay for M1 killers and are designed in a way to have no risk as Survivor. There is no skill or fun in running to a pallet/window that can't be mind gamed and dropping/vaulting it. Additionally, breakable walls "allow" for stupid designs like this, and are unhealthy. If the wall is up, the Survivor can't be caught. If the wall is down, the Survivor is downed in 3 seconds. Why are we making such bad maps, when BHVR seemingly learned in the past not to do so? Look at the 3.7.0 patch, they literally changed a bunch of maps that they knew were problematic. Why are we undoing all that hard work? The game's maps are unbalanced, unfun and frustrating for both sides.
The patch in question:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/179-3-7-0-mid-chapter
This is probably the thing that frustrates me the most - the implementation of breakable walls is just so so bad and we've been telling them this for years. There are almost no (not saying none in case I'm forgetting one) cases where a breakable wall is not either objectively good to break or objectively bad to break. Badham school walls? Don't ever break (which is why we see some survivors try to force a break by interfering with removing someone from main building if the hatch isn't there). Groaning Storehouse wall? Have to break it or the old almost-infinite they actively removed is back. And they're all like this! Either you open a god loop or you stop a god loop from existing, there's no interest in that. You don't load into Badham and wonder if you'll see the killer break the school walls, you don't load into Groaning Storehouse thinking if you're the last survivor being chased you get to use the window of the storehouse with the wall up. It's just not engaging design and they actively reintroduced so many infuriating map elements to "justify" putting breakable walls there. It's probably my least favorite part of the game right now, loading into a map and knowing I need to waste time breaking the wall or lose a chase later, or knowing X wall is going to be down or up by minute 3 if I'm survivor.

Eh. I don't like facing newbies and mowing them down just feels depressing, but facing players who make almost no mistakes is a slog because it showcases just how broken most maps' resources are when utilized optimally. Running in circles around the same pallet four times to get them to drop it and move to the next pallet is not enjoyable. At that point, you have to be playing an anti-loop killer or you've got nothing to work with. And I'm worse at survivor than I am at killer, so I really don't want to be going against a Nurse that can 4k in three minutes flat.
Mostly I want to face people on my skill level - competent, can pull off a neat trick or two, but not flawless.
This is pretty much exactly how I feel - I don't have much fun mowing down newbs or running a clearly new killer for 5 gens, but I hate actual optimized gameplay more. I've been around long enough to identify just how good at the loop game someone is at the first loop - if I'm killing and I run into that kind of survivor, I just kind of check out of that game, honestly. I really don't have fun optimally running tiles as either side, either needing to get stunned to get god survivors to actually drop the pallet or running the same structure over and over as survivor, it's boring and repetitive. If I wanted to go in a circle I'd play Mario Kart.
What I have the most fun with are people who take risks - on killer that's people who try the Q&Q + head on combo to mess with me, who try crazy mindgames where if I guess wrong they're two tiles away because they know the jukes, and forcing us both into mindgames where the loser is really going to be penalized. On survivor it's coming up with creative ways to run the killer, not connecting super strong tiles like how you would on Cowshed or other maps that are known for their bad RNG, but rather trying to trick the killer into assuming I'm doing A while really I'm running for completely separate structures. It comes from me not understanding how to loop well for literal years...now that I kind of can if I need to, I still don't find it fun, I'd rather play my own way. It gets me downed faster than a god looper 90%+ of the time, but it's a hell of a lot more fun.
That's really the be all end all for me - optimal gameplay I never feel like I outplayed the other side - a truly optimal survivor is nigh on uncatchable, and an optimal killer just snowballs to the point it's clear you were never winning in the first place. The best games are the ones where you can walk away pointing to a single moment and saying "yes, this is where this person utterly destroyed me in a creative way and I lost the game" or vice versa, where you did that to the other side. Optimal gameplay is predictable and extremely dull, and that's why I don't like going against the true sweat squads/killers.
-
I just want to add that I used to do a thing where I wouldn’t farm if someone DCed right away, but I’d back off. I’d take it easy, “forget” to check a Gen I was pretty sure they were on, go as far from any hooks as I could, etc, etc.
You know what made me stop? Too many comments after about how bad of a killer I was that they almost won/won with a 3 man, that clearly I was boosted and yadda yadda. Now I adopt the strategy of “get everyone to the next game ASAP because we’re not going to have fun this game” and I’m not about to change it. Occasionally get people like OP who whine at me for their teammate’s ruining the game like it was my fault but that’s a lot easier to stomach and is the standard attitude rather than total lack of awareness.
On the survivor side I play mostly solo, I see what my team does. If either of the others are suiciding or clearly giving up, I’ll just die on first hook to move on, otherwise I’ll keep trying. I don’t expect the killer to take it easy on us because of the DC, not like they chose for it to happen.
-
I got it by BT hookrushing. You become that survivor, but it gets the achievement done. 3 a match if you get hooked three times.
-
I always enjoyed it as someone who gets bored by the "run in a circle" strats in most maps...Hawkins inspired more creative routing than any other map and it was always fun to wind up going there to see how people would chain pallets and structures together. Plus it was just fun thematically.

Thank you guys and girls for all those suggestions and your very much appreciated input.
What I am absolutely not happy with is bringing everybody to P3/1 ==> this means I am running around with one perk and like 3 usable items I got out of the bloodweb at level 1.
There is 1 more question: from what I learned here is that there will be a clean slate / reset at the beginning of the new system so I am loosing my whole inventory (items / addons / offerings). Correct?
I guess I´ll just invest in my favorite chars (until I have them completely maxed out) as I would have done without this system beeing changed and see if there is anything I could have done better.
I could not care less, if in postchat plp see, which new rank I am in - that´s like WoW ==> laugh at my Rogue if you feel like it but keep running if you meet my Elemental Shaman.
To be fair you will never see me playing certain Killers / Survivors so if they like get ignored during the reset I could not care less.
A big THANK YOU to all your good folks out there - sending best wishes from my side of the pond,
Linda
"There is 1 more question: from what I learned here is that there will be a clean slate / reset at the beginning of the new system so I am loosing my whole inventory (items / addons / offerings). Correct?"
This is NOT correct. If you don't prestige your characters, you keep everything. All they're doing is determining a new prestige level for you based on what you've unlocked. So if you don't prestige and max out your characters, it's all benefit other than you don't get the "unique reward", whatever it is.

They said prestige won't be capped at P3 anymore, so I think full maxed 0P characher (all perks) could automatically become... let's say P6 or p10, according to amount of BP you've spent on infinite 50lvl. So there's no reason to waste all this into P1 before new system if you aren't interested in the reward.
So basically there is a main question - what do you prefer:
1) to loose everything and spend a lot of BP to get P3-1lvl and get a misterious reward (not a cosmetic) which let everyone know you got this P3 with old system
OR
2) don't loose everything, don't get a reward but get auto-P2-P3-P4-P5-P6-Pwhatever according to your investments in this character without additional moves and BP.
For different characters the answer is different. My advice is to P3 only your beloved characters if there's nothing valuable to waste in their inventory (so if you deffinetely won't regret about reset it even if this "P3-reward" will dissapoint you). And don't touch fullmaxed characters with lot of items, it doesn't worth to reset them now.
Edit: and, yeah, I'm not sure you should make all the way to 50lvl after P3-reset _now_. You can find anniversary cakes during anniversary event (1,5 cakes per level on average), so it's much profitable to reset before the event to get smaller blood web and get more cakes.
I think P6-P10 for a fully maxed out unprestiged char is a bit over-hopeful personally, but I hope I'm wrong there. I know it's something absurd to get all perks on everyone nowadays, but I can't help but feel we'll get lowballed on that route since I get the feeling they want the new levels of prestige to be the "new thing" people strive for.

I see two main options here:
Option 1: Get everyone to P3 Level 1: this ensures you get the "unique reward" whatever it is, and then gives all your killers/survivors their perks as soon as the prestige rework happens. This is the guaranteed way to get that to happen (at the cost of losing items, add ons, etc) because option 2 they've not been fully clear on what the extent is...
Option 2: get everyone to level 50 with all perks. They've said they're "catching up" people in this situation by auto prestiging them to an "appropriate value" but we don't know what that value is. I would assume a level 50 character with all perks at tier 3 would go to P3, but I don't know that for sure and as far as I know they haven't said. However, they were clear that you miss out on the unique reward this way, but you keep your items and add ons.
So, whichever one sounds better to you I'd say go for.

They are going to be Charms, i dont know how you dont imagine it, its Behaviour, xD
BloodPoints? Maybe, but i wouldnt expect more than 300k, again, its behaviour, you need 32,328,000 BP on average to get all perks level 3 with all killers, and if you want all killers and survs with maxed abilities (without making prestige to anyone) you will need 400,000,000 BP average. Now think that when they do some EPIC event maybe they give you 500k bp max
So expect a charm and a pat on the back
They did say no charm either - I'm personally expecting a unique emblem - we already know they plan to replace the old rank/grade icons with new emblems that show your character and prestige level with them, by their own planning (official DbD site) so a "unique" variant that shows they were P3 before the rework was a thing. Not 100% sure I think that's sufficient (maybe that + some BP?) but it's what I'm expecting.

@SimplyPixelated06 said:
I think they're only rewarding players that p3'd because that means they've gone through the process of losing all their items and all those bloodpoints going down the drain to be able to be p3, whereas people who have leveled up to the point of p3ing without actually p3ing, haven't lost any stuff or had their bloodpoints wasted. That's my theory behind it and why they'll probably keep it that way.
I'm pretty sure this is the reason - it's a way to placate the people who took the old system for "no reason" other than a bloody cosmetic and lost 150+ levels of bloodweb items in exchange for maxing out their prestige levels. With the system changing they could have gotten those rewards for "free" so giving something else is a nice little reward for having done so. While everyone else on the catch up system is rewarded with retroactive prestige on the new system, so everyone benefits. The people who prestiged because prestige was "status" to them or whatever other reason get something unique still for having done so, and those who didn't want to lose levels don't and still get the perk unlocks.
-
I do my damndest to play fair when I'm killer since I play too much survivor to be a jerk, even if I play more killer, so offering up a more measured read of those three perks:
UB: I only hate it in two cases: the "minute of invincibility" survivors get in endgame collapse if they have both it and DS (which used to be always but they did fix this in non-EGC cases), and the case where it's a coordinated team and I can't pick up because of the coordination...and then I've finally gotten them all down...and now they're all up again and the board is reset, undoing the good play and resetting the board. In both cases it undoes something that I had to actively work for and feels a little cheap by comparison. Otherwise I tend to pick up asap so I don't see it much.
BT: Other than EGC cases, I only dislike it when it's used offensively. By this I mean: I'm chasing someone, they opt to unhook, unhook happens, unhooked person bodyblocks a chokepoint rescuer ran through so now I have to hit them to move on. It's a good play and I recognize that, but the moment that bar appears, I know I'm being branded a tunneler in the two peoples' eyes that didn't take part in the play, and I genuinely hate that. Played verse several streamers who, when I go lurk their VOD to see how my gameplay looks from their perspective, see the bar pop up and just decide I'm an ######### (most recently guy who saw it happen and when I hooked the saved person three hooks later, I "tunneled them out real fast"). Genuinely in those cases I say in my head "go mend then" as I hit them and then try to keep after the rescuer, but the mental branding is there all the same.
DS: Discounting EGC cases again, it's just offensive DS that annoys me. Same as BT. We all know the type: the person who has the perk and therefore they're GOING to use it. Chasing the killer, spamming locker jumps, doing everything in their power to demand they get picked up so they can use their stabby perk. It's one of the few times I'll intentionally slug outside of coordinated teams where I can't or playing Oni or something, because it actually drops the quality of the match for me. Otherwise the last nerf to it fixed a lot of my issues with the perk (doing a gen in your face without you being able to do anything about it even if you had chased and downed someone else while they got saved and chose to get on the gen since I wasn't, you know, tunneling them) and I don't think it's nearly as much of a problem anymore.

Technically they didn't use NFTs, they partnered with a company who used the NFT. This was so dbd wouldn't be banned from steam. Bhvr can plausibly deny that dbd doesn't use blockchain tech and doesn't allow exchange of NFTs / crypto so they haven't violated any Steamworks rules.
Legally you are correct. But their tweets on Monday revealed they were working with the NFT company for months to give them what they wanted, so morally it's indefensible. Their tweet yesterday about the NFT not existing in DbD itself was very much a CYA ignore the issue legalese tweet and is likely all they can say without angering their new business partner the NFT place.

Well i guess this is the straw that broke my back
I wonder if you have an idea of how hard it is for me to write this, and moreso for me to do this.
First, i'll write some of my problems with this game...
- 5th Anniversary was quite the disappointment to me, which i REALLY needed to not be.
- Hackers are going loose right now and they're showing very little care about it too. (Devs, if you read this: SHOW! SHOW that you care.)
- And now this whole ordeal with the Hellraiser chapter.
- Some patches & statements REALLY made me question if they know what they're actually doing, with 2 prime examples being Mcote saying: "Infinites take skill." & the patch which made Survivors able to Pallet-stun or blind the Killer at any time during the pick-up animation and it would trigger the rescue, removing any timing needed besides having to be there during the animation.
- Survivor gameplay is VERY much the same since launch, so i got bored with that after a while, and thus i wasn't playing half of the game anyway.
- Don't like Battle Passes, and while i didn't enjoy the Rift either, i tolerate it.
- Linked outfits are quite terrible to me but i just didn't think about them.
- QA more often than i'd like feels non-existant after patch releases.
- With the current Boon Perks and more surely coming up, using Hex: Devour Hope on its own is no longer a viable option for me to generate my kind of fun, and this reason alone would surely eventually kill my desire to play DbD.
- Crashes/freezes. No other game of mine has crashed or frozen as many times as DbD has, and crashes/freezes are a HUGE demotivator for me to play, i'm usually done playing a game for the day if it crashes or freezes.
- Optimization for consoles is absolutely astonishing and i don't mean the good astonishing.
But guess what?
I don't regret a single thing, because i enjoyed all of MY decisions in the game...
- I don't regret getting all Perks on one character, as they helped keep the game fresh for me, good or bad.
- I don't regret getting all those cosmetics, as i enjoyed making my own personal outfits and show them off.
- I don't regret sinking so much time into this game, as it's the same as any other hobby: You sink time into it cause you enjoy it, and enjoying DbD i sure did. (Half of it, but that half was pretty damn good.)
And i am very confident i won't regret this decision either: ######### this, it's time to quit!
It's been a good run DbD, but it's time to put you to bed.
I feel no more joy starting it up and enjoyment is all i play games for.
The ONLY reason i'm not permanently deleting DbD isn't because i don't want to remove my playtime.
I've deleted many save files in multiple Dark Souls games before, all of which contained AT LEAST dozens of hours per save file.
No, the ONLY reason why i'm not doing that is cause, despite all this, it hasn't changed me: I'm still a hopeful man.
Call it blind faith, but perhaps there's a future out there where a different company buys DbD and simply does way better.
Heck, i might get into a different asymmetrical game. (Don't count on it.)
I could probably write lots more, but i don't think it's worth it, plus it's late as i write this.
Took me like 2 days to make this decision too and whenever i had free time, this decision was all i was thinking about.
Some of you will think i took way too long, some of you will think i'm overreacting and will come back soon.
Both of you could be right, both of you could be wrong, i really don't care cause this is my experience.
I'm just really ready to be done with this game now.
See y'all in other games perhaps IDK i'm not much of a multiplayer-only guy besides DbD of course.
I'll probably check on this comment again tomorrow, but i suspect i'll be done with the forums as well after that.
I’m sorry to see you going man - I’m in the same boat though, I’m taking a huge step back from the game and may never come back. We only talked a few times but you were always a respectful presence on the forums, and it’ll be a colder place without you. I’ve been sticking around to see if the frustration with the NFT was going to stick around longer than the average attention span, but after that I’ll probably join you in the general idea of things. Hope whatever game you land in continues to bring you enjoyment.

182 out of 185 achievement. Come on man, you have 3 achievements to finish this out...
those were the ones added today, I am content knowing I had and maintained 100% for a long time.

Updating my screenshot from yesterday. It frustrates me to see the 100% gone, but not worth coming back to fix it with the current situation. Plus if I'm being honest I was playing more to complete arbitrary things at that point, rifts and P3-ing things. I'm having more fun with other games lately anyway so if I get to take a moral stand and take a nice long break from this game that may become permanent? Fine by me.

From what we've seen, the devs themselves didn't know about the NFT business. McLean posted about it and two current BHVR employees that I've seen reacted to it as well in a "we didn't know" manner. So really it's down to the management that did this. And I'm sure as long as profits look good management isn't going to care. Which is...extremely disappointing on so many levels.
-
I personally love the game too much to continue to support it if they're going down this route where they knew the license was going to create an NFT with it and took the deal anyway. They had their chance to decide that wasn't going to be ok and they opted not to. I don't blame the devs, we have several examples of people who worked on it saying they didn't know. I blame management, through and through.

When at least one past and current worker at BHVR, both relatively senior without being management, were unhappy with the news that came out yesterday, I very much agree that the majority of the people working on the game didn't necessarily approve of the NFT.
But continuing to support the game tells the management that DID make the call to do this that it's ok to keep doing it.

I gotta say, my expectations for BHVR were low, but holy #########.
Getting involved with NFscamTs, lying about it, doing a 180 in a matter of days, risking getting banned from steam a day before a new dlc and with an upcoming event. Pretty good job so far, frankly.
Anyway, on to more joyful and light subjects.
Uninstalling right now. Any suggestions for other games to play?
Totally different game but I will always shout out Tales of Maj'Eyal when given the chance. Full size roguelike (so 9-12 hours to win once) with over 20 classes and more than a dozen races, four campaigns, 9 difficulty settings, and a super friendly community. Only about 300 playing at peak times and I genuinely think that's criminally low. It's a great one and I look forward to it no longer competing with DbD in my most played games list.

Should be able to transfer data (skins, levels, etc.) over to the Epic store once thats all been ironed out
Only issue with that outside the whole NFT thing is that that involves downloading and opening the Epic store.

I absolutely hate losing that 100% tomorrow, but my morals beat out my completionist attitude.

I was transitioning back to Tales of Maj'Eyal and various Monster Hunter games anyway, though was loosely planning to see if my opinions changed with the new Archives.
Guess I have my answer already. Saved me a couple hours of matches.
