Killer bots would be preferable to a vast majority of the killer playerbase.
Bhvr can't implement then fast enough.
That would be a nice touch. For every game you ragequit out, you have to play a match with 4 bots.
-
I'd say try something different. As a killer player I'll swap to a different killer, play some survivor games (of which I'm terrible), or even just play something else if I start getting stressed after afew matches. I bounce back and forth between this and Warframe alot, which is a pretty chill experience for me.
-
Really depends on context. If I see someone going for a save and I can intercept that... I'll do that. I'm applying pressure on a survivor while his teammate is hanging around not on gens. If I notice a survivor is about to go to the next hook stage... I might hang around for 10 seconds to prevent a last second save.
If we were to compare this to sports, this is simply playing defense. While both sides COULD ignore defense and focus on scoring as many goals as possible within the alloted time, having someone play goalie to block a shot isn't the craziest idea in the world and definitely shouldn't be considered someone being toxic and ruining fun.
In short...context I'd everything. If someone is beating someone down on the hook... that's obviously not helping them win. There ARE times however when abit of camping is the smart play. Just like you wouldn't condemn a goalie for blocking shots and say "If you had the skill to just score points really fast, you wouldn't need to do something so lame", you shouldnt really be taking that approach when a killer makes a smart play to block a save attempt.

His default movement speed is 4.6 m/s. His tier 1 special ability is that he gets decreased movement speed to 105%, lunge opening time decreased from 0.5 →0.2 but is granted undetectable status effect.
The writing is screwed up... I fully understand what each tier gives. In no way is it possible for this to be his "base stats" while also making the writen portion for each tier also true.
While it DOES say he moves slower in T1, it also says decreased TR in T2 and moves faster. While we CAN imply they meant faster than T1 rather than faster than his base speed (the listed 4.6) ... that wouldn't make sense for the TR. All this also doesn't even mention the vault speed boost.

It is kind of weird that they gave Vecna a map and not Dracula, isn't it? Castlevania is much more known for its location—It's the name of the series, even, when I'm not confident the map for Vecna is even something from any official DnD content.
I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about a dungeon in DnD, lol.

Michael has terror radius of 6, 16 and 32 for tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 evil within however many years ago, The undetectable status effect did not exist. Michael was given undetectable status in tier 1. So his 6 tr becomes 0 TR. You had to use M&A to have 0 TR before Ghostface was added to the game.
This isn't showing his T1 stats though, otherwise the movement speed would be lower.

Your settings on your console has nothing to do with your in game friends list. The DBD servers don't have access to your Playstation settings.

All of a sudden you'll have alot more ppl concerned about DCes when you have Deathslinger bots who hit every shot in range.

Wesker and Nemesis are good examples of okay anti-loop.
Sprit and Deathslinger are pretty awful to play against.
The problem is excessive zoning due to lethality and ease of access. Scott mentioned 'you're not dodging you're getting lucky' and he's right. The counterplay being to hope the killer messes up or is bad, not the survivor being good, at least in chase.
Naturally these killers aren't overpowered because spread efficiency still defeats them, but that doesn't exclude them from being annoying.
Pre-Nerf Xenomorph was the same nonsense.
Prenerfed xenomorph was bugged, and the nerf didn't make it easier to dodge it's attack or anything... THATS exactly the same.

It doesn't have to be a guarantee to get up. Slugging for 4k is bogus. Activate it for the last 2 survivors if needs be. Every match I have had today has been slug for 4k. It's bogus and a little over powered. 2 v 8 had a perk that let survivors pick themselves up and it didn't break anyone's game. I've got vids of killer players leaving 3 players on the ground to bleed out because they can. It's a QoL enhancement so I don't have to sit on my hands while an anonymous player gets their jollies. It's bogus. And if you're not hooking straight away because of players with flashlights, then go after them.
2v8 also took away flashlight/pallet saves, which is the big reasons why a killer would NEED to slug.

Haha, sometimes I also encounter a survivor who is too good at looping and t-bags, and then I don't care about gens anymore, I just want to kill him 😂. I don't camp and slug, but I tunnel him till the end. I feel it is fun, and I think he also feels that. Anw, he wanted me to chase him. In this case, it's a fair and fun game.
Had a survivor like this during 2v8. He kept doing a little T bag after every pallet. After his last down, I did a little killer hump for like 3 seconds before sending him on his way. 2 minutes later, I get a PS message saying "enjoy the ban".

I thought this too.
With two killers and the potential for both killers to have 'stations', e.g. Pig and Freddy, you would have to reduce the number of stations to ensure there's enough capacity for both killers and chests to spawn.
So for Pig, have just three Jigsaw boxes spawn, and have survivors able to search boxes multiple times. You still get the RNG for how many searches are required, but if the killers are camping two of the boxes you can go to the third and use all your searches there.
But three is the mimum you could have due to having two killers. If that's too few, or if there are killers who need significantly more (Alien and it's tunnels for example) then I don't think stations are going to work at all.
The thing about being able to do all your searches on one box makes it so you get rid of 90% of the time extension the traps are there for to begin with. There's no travel time... Keep in mind, these maps are specifically altered for 2v8. There's no reason they couldn't simply add more places for stations to spawn.

Someone had a 400 streak on Clown… and it seems every other killer has similar numbers. Not sure if they’re all playing to the full scope of their killer’s kit, but I think what’s damning is that a person can obtain such a kill rate without fully using a killer’s powers. It really speaks to how oppressive killers are.
For sure playing Pinky Finger Clown every match while slugging the 3rd survivor is going to result in alot of 4ks. It's also a bad indicator on 1) Clown's usual strength and 2) the hatch escape rate.
This thread was all about the Hatch, which basically never got to spawn in the Trapper matches being talked about because that individual claims he played as scummy as possible to get as many kills as possible. This isn't me saying he's scummy, that's his words.

Hens playing as trapper not using his power, not tunneling/camping and getting a 90% winrate i believe.
Others streamers tried this too with similar results.
I know he and maybe some other streamers are gonna be outliers in terms of skill but its not that its impossible to do.
Afew differences here... The fact the Trapper GOT traps shows he wasn't a highly skilled player challenging himself by not using his power. It shows he's unskilled at Trapper... but at the same time HIGHLY skilled killer. Also unlike Hens, he claimed to have done this with randomized perks.
This doesn't even touch the biggest reason this singular example shouldn't be used when discussing hatch escape rates (which was the point of the thread). Even if we believe this is 100% true... they themselves admitted they played in the scummiest ways to get as many kills as possible. The reason why the hatch escape rate is so low is because he slugged for the 4k every time... the hatch didn't spawn. The few escapes that DID occur can be explained by the 3rd survivor bleeding out.

Gotta love how no one even mentions Legion.

While I do think it's worth pointing out these numbers can't really be verified and wouldn't be good proof of anything even if they were, I do like little anecdotes like this, they're interesting.
This also isn't that unsurprising of a result, frankly. If this player is good with Trapper and they're playing pub matches instead of coordinated and organised matches against the same opponents, they're going to be able to perform pretty well, no killer is unplayable in the current state of DBD until you start skewing the scenario towards top players and comp matches.
Though, something I find interesting here and want to bring up: I don't think "random builds" is as much of a downside as some think, here. Trapper is a versatile killer, he can make use of pretty much every perk archetype there is - he's a basic attack killer, he has a terror radius, he chases at normal speed and has to respect resources, he even has a way of protecting hexes. Whatever build this user rolled, there's a really high chance they got something Trapper was perfectly capable of making use of. There aren't that many terrible perks and their killer choice didn't make any otherwise-useful perks redundant or inoperable, so the random perks probably helped more than they hurt.
It's a neat thing to think about. I'd be tempted to do the same thing myself, honestly, though I'd probably allow myself addons for convenience lol. It'd be fun to try and make use of whatever I rolled, kinda like Chaos Shuffle in miniature.
The Strange thing about this data is it shows this killers WASNT skilled with Trapper at all. The average game got less than 2 traps. This isn't downs, this is simply survivors stepping in traps. This means the results were seeing is basically "Man with Knife".

It doesn’t matter if he played the killer as M1 primarily. That argument is akin to saying “well, he mori’d people instead of hooking them when they were on death hook.” How the survivors fall is irrelevant. You’re splitting hairs. Why?
The entire thing is super suspicious is all. Usually when someone does really well, it's due to their mastery over the killer's power. This shows the polar opposite, almost as if the person trying to make up an impressive, yet reasonable spreadsheet has no clue what normal Trapper gameplay is like. There's 0 actual footage to go with a random spreadsheet that is taken as fact.
I know there's much more impressive killrates than this, but... that's typically due to a Billy getting alot of value from his saw, a Huntress from her hatchets, etc. This however doesn't really add up. I can believe you'll have some teams that play horribly, but not to the extent that after 200 games of slaughtering teams you haven't boosted your MMR enough to go against teams who can handle "Man with knife" with random perks who apparently deleted the gamescript for the hatch entirely.

I dont play SoloQ, I play Survivor only as a 2 man SWF. And yes, I watch almost every game until the end, since either myself or my SWF-Mate are still alive.
Now you can start yapping about Trapper-games again.
YYap Yap Yap Trapper
If a dev told you the normal percentage of Hatch Escapes is drastically higher than 2% for games that reach that point... Would you THEN stop preaching a random spreadsheet you found as gospel? This spreadsheet has more holes than Swiss cheese.

Ok, again for your:
I only care about the Hatch Escapes in those stats.
They alignt with my own experience.
All the other yapping you are doing does not apply to anything. Hatch is not an issue, Hatch does not boost Survival Rates by a significant margin.
Do you make a habit of watching games play out after you die? If you die first while solo Q, do you NOT just go to the next match?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3781607#Comment_3781607
That this is not the average Trapper experience does not matter for the number of Hatch escapes. I only went for this exact number, especially because it aligns with my own experience (as I have said).
What Killer this person played is meaningless for the argument when it comes to Hatch.
So you'll admit the spreadsheet as a whole is DRASTICALLY different from the norm... that this player who's use of Trappers power is horrible, yet "Man with knife" game is top tier... that we should still take a single stat from this as completely normal.
If you saw a similar spreadsheet of a person claiming to play Huntress getting less than 2 hatchet hits per game but still getting a 77% kill ratio while using random perks... would you be this open to trusting it completely to the point you use it as a basis for random threads?
This makes me wanna share the results of my no-blink nurse matches. 100% Killrate... 0 hatch escapes after 1759 games. My proof is "trust me bro".

Pretty sure I didn't say that. What I DID say was using the stats of what is clearly NOT the average Trapper experience is completely pointless and provides nothing other than to muck up the water and make things unclear. Even if this info is true... it's a clear outlier, not the average.

@Ayodam said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3781499#Comment_3781499
What about it seems abnormal to you? That person has a 77% kill rate out of 400 games. That doesn’t seem anomalous. At least one killer main has shown a 90% KR out of 1,000 games. And there are others with varying kill rates (all above 60%, which is the average BHVR gave us) who go on win streaks of hundreds of games. It’s quite feasible this player got a 77% KR out of 400 games.
His traps show he doesn't even average 2 caught survivors per match... not DOWNED, but simply survivors in bear traps. This means this is mostly "man with knife games". Beyond that, this is also 1 person. I could do a similar thing where I slug for the 4k every game. Is that a good indicator of hatch chances on average? If I go afk to get 4 escapes, does that show the average experience?
His shown killrate already shows these stats are far different than average Trapper stats... and this is apparently with random perks?
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
If we look at the statics here:
Two Survivors out of 400,, so 2 in 100 games someone escaped via Hatch.
While the numbers are obviously not representative, they show that a Hatch Escape is pretty rare. And from my own experience, I would agree with that. If I come into the situation that the Hatch is the only way for the Survivor (myself or when I am playing Killer) to escape, very rarely does this actually happen.
You can't say "obviously these numbers are not representative" while trying to use those numbers to represent. The entire thing is pretty far off from normal gameplay to the point it's hard to believe it's not a complete fabrication.

Blindness in general helps counter survivor aura reading perks. Seeing how common WoO is, 3rd seal can cripple survivors who don't know which pallets were used.
-
Even if this info is taken as true and not completelymade up... This shows that the trappers power only caught roughly 2 people per match. That doesnt even mean those traps resulted in downs. The insinuation is these survivors lost horribly to M1 strikes.

I think having a friend with you crushing heads makes things intrinsically more enjoyable, but it also definitely helps that there are no perks—survivors always run the same few perks that are really in-your-face, whereas all the stuff in 2v8 is less obnoxious, I find.
On the other hand, survivor is miserable—mostly owing to the killers available. Huntress was already one of the least interactive killers to engage with before Wraith(another top contender) was on you too.
The weird thing I find about ppl being stressed about the killer's teaming up is... 2v8 has been widely asked for for years. Did no one honestly think of that part? This shouldn't be a surprise that the 2v8 that's been on the wishlist does infact include 2 killers on the same map.

No matter what anyone says, you don't have to win all your games, and honestly you will lose some no matter what. So just don't worry if you win or lose play the game for fun and enjoyment not to stress yourself out.

Me and my teammate felt bad, so we let everyone still living finish up and go. The last survivor turns out scoured the map for chests and left a treasure hoard on a hill as an offering before dying to EGC. Those "moments" are pretty great.

I think it's less about 2 queues and more about how popular playing killer on 2v8 is. It's not just die hard killer mains queueing up for 2v8 killer. Alot of ppl who WOULD be in the 1v4 survivor queue are currently playing 2v8 killer, which is affecting both queues. They could shut down 1v4 and only have 2v8 and you'd still have long killer queues.

The gamemode is also basically the "casual" mode ppl have been wanting since there's no need to remember 100 different perks.
You mean, the gamemode is easy mode for Killer. This is why it is popular. I have yet to play a game where I did not get at least a 7K with a random Killer teammate.

It WAS a Dwight. Guy was a TTV playing with 3 other dwights.

They could increase the chance of Sacrificial Ward in the bloodweb while decreasing map offerings so people get more Sacrificial Wards.
Not sure why people would be expected to run Sacrificial Ward every match if it was map ban offering instead when people aren't expected to run Sacrificial Ward every match right now when map offerings increase chance to go to a map that puts the other side at an advantage. SWF can already take turns using map offerings and have their teammates use other offerings to do anti-hook build, map ban offerings would make this more difficult for SWF.
II'm In no way saying sacrificial wards are in a good position currently.
-
@bm33 said:
They shouldn't do a map ban system, especially if it's something that's going to nullify offerings without having to give up anything. Sacrificial Ward works to cancel offerings because you are giving up using other offerings like an event BP offering to use it.
They should change map offerings to guarantee you won't go to a certain realm instead of increasing the odds. This would fix the problem of people using map offerings to go to a map that favors their team/killer for easier win while also giving people a chance to avoid the maps they don't want to go to. Sacrificial Ward could still be used so no map has a permanent ban.
Devs would still be able to see which maps people avoid going to based on the map offering used and if they are choosing them over event offerings where they'd get extra BP.
The problem with Sacrificial Ward is they appear in bloodwebs about as often as any specific map offering. You can't expect people to use them every match, while it's ENTIRELY possible to use map offerings every match (especially SWFs who can take turns).
-
My 2v8 teammate was saying something similar the other day. He was playing Huntress and had the no hatchet speed boost+ bloodlust and couldn't catch up to a Dwight who was just looping a simple haybale.
