You are just thinking about yourself, if you are good or not. When you say: " I had a laugh and moved on. It happens." is because you had only one bad experience in that day/week or whatever, some players doesnt have that good luck and find themselves with the most noob killers, i'm not saying anything about camping is a crime to humanity or tunnel, i do that myself sometimes, it all depends on how the team will act after the first hook. I dont facecamp because is rude or it will just give too much credit to that survivor, but i explained the scene and yet you decliened, because in your great experience things happens.
I only suggested one more encouragement to killers, at least, altho that should be clearly explained to the players, since the biggest problems must be with killers rank 13-17 and some noobs of better rank. If there are so many people complaining that must happens more than 1 time in a day. I know, because (not facecamping) but bad tunneling in a not organized team, is a crappy match. 0 fun 0 rewards 0 brains.
What I'm saying that while, yeah, camping sucks, there are just too many reasons to do it. The 'Human Factor' behind camping is so much a part of it that you literally cannot program in every legit reason a Killer has to camp.
And if a Killer has a legit reason to camp, punishing them for it would be profoundly unfair. I'd rage if I got slowed/teleported/a free unhook/lost BP/whatever because I camped for 1 or 2 kills in a match where everyone was a 3- or 4-man meme-build meant to bully me instead of win.
So, overall, camping just CANNOT be punished. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

So?

I didn't say anything about terror radius. And what problem with giving unhook? Just go patrol gens or go back and smack em.
So basically 'Walk away & give them an unhook or they get a free unhook'.
If you can't see what's wrong with that idea, there's no point in trying to reason with you.

hi, thats funny man, after I posted the comment, i remember that possibility and went edit asap, take a look in my new edited, i will paste here:
"Also, when i'm playing killer, there are times (quiet often) that I don't want to camp or tunnel someone, so i just go forward and, in that point, someone unhook the survivor and that same unhooked guy goes directly to me and I stick my fork in him, since we can never refuse free food, so in that case, the algorithm should be added with a merge of meters, like, altho the clock ticks every 10 seconds, if that same survivor runned or walked for more than 45 meteres from where he was hooked the points will count as a full 8. 45 m in a line, not running in circles and while not in a chase!."
But, that was not a punishment, that was a reward, each point will be considered in the end, and if you get points, basicaly for doing nothing, this points will generate BONUS in hunting + hooking category, so this is the opposite of punishment.
Altho i suggested one little punishment for tunneling survivors when there's 5 gens LEFT. Because i have already played this game, hundred of hours, some hours as survivor and others as killer. And i know how frustating is in the beggining of the match a noob killer tunneling me, just because he can't control the match against 4 survivors, in the end i get -2 pip and riddiculus 3k bloodpoints...
I have 133 hours in DBD. I've been tunneled and camped from the first second of a match.
I mean, to the point that the Killer actively ignored Survivors poking him in the chest. Literally. My friend prodded his chest with the 'Point' emote repeatedly and he just STARED at me.
Another person got caught in a bear trap? He just STARED at me.
I got unhooked when he went afk a moment, and when he returned, he ran past TWO Survivors to hunt me down.
I did not bring a single item into the match. I did not have meta perks. This guy just wanted me dead so badly. He rehooked me and resumed staring. His soulless eyes boring into mine.
Did I suddenly think camping was OP and needed a change? Did I complain how unfair it was?
NO!
It was ONE bloody match. The Killer decided to play My Little Stalker and turn me into a shrine for his tsundere love. I had a laugh and moved on. It happens.
Stop Asking For Biased Changes Just Because You Dislike A Legitimate Playstyle!
Anything you suggest will be abuseable. Stop.
-
@Azurlynx said:
Just give survivors ability to unhook themself if killer is within certain distance for certain time.
Sure. And if Survivors teabag at the exit gates, they should teleport onto Hooks.
Once again; Survivors would camp JUST outside a Killers Terror Radius and force him to camp until the Survivor can unhook for free.
Or the Killer would have to leave and GIVE the unhook to the Survivors.
Either way: The Killer is punished for doing nothing wrong & the Survivors have an abuseable mechanic.
Just stop. Camping is fine. All these ideas are terrible attempts to force a biased playstyle on people and shoehorn in Survivor-sided mechanics to make the game easier for them.

just make an algorithm that will start to calculate like this:
After the person u hooked is unhooked a timer will begin, every 10 seconds, it count 1 point, if the killer hook that same person before 1 point, that means he had tunnel/camping and won't get bloodpoints bonus, if he hooked before finishing 6 points, he will get only half points, each hook will have a total of 8 points, in a total of 80 seconds, after that it will stop.
-- at the end of the match, the more points you have, more exp BONUS you get --.
If the killer hooked and went to another survivor, the clock will keep going until 8 points but will stop after the second hook (if it happens before getting to 8p), this systematic will keep going.
I was going to suggest to create a silent heartbeat emited to the survivor, only being able to be listen by the killer, and in that radius the killer won't get points, but that's WRONG, since we all should agree that camping is just a strategy not an exploit, if you want stay camping someone, the survivor should tell his friends and they will gen rush, because karma is a b**ch.
Altho, i really think that tunneling should be fixed, like... if there's still 5 gens left, if you tunnel the survivor, he should get your bloodpoints lefting you with 0 untill that point. But if there's 2 gens left and no sacrifice yet, tunnel is a great way to balance things and must NOT be consider a way of disgrace, the killer should not have bonus for that but in the same way should not be punish for that.
Heck no! Sometimes I avoid tunneling someone, chase off their friend, and then find the unhooked schmuck 3 feet away self-healing. All these half-baked fixes would punish ME for his bad play.
I should in NO WAY be punished with less bloodpoints because they were too silly to actually run away. People would abuse the hell out of this.
And on a 1 minute & 20 seconds counter? NO!
Or giving the Survivors MY bloodpoints? Double-bloody-NO! Do you know how many Survivors would try to abuse that mechanic and steal bloodpoints?
I will say it again:
KILLERS SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED IF THEY HAVE/WANT TO CAMP OR TUNNEL!

No clue what this qq means but whatever. Check all my posts and you will notice very soon that I'm not biased but care about killers aswell and a balanced DbD experience unlike you.
Just so you know (I'm not insulting you), QQ is supposed to be shorthand for crying.
A Q or q looks like a round eye and the tail is the tears coming out. I think it was originally Q.Q and then got shortened to QQ or qq since it was used in fast-paced FPS games.

Why dont we just have the killer be teleported away by the entity if they stay too close by, or slowed in movement speed.
No. Again; it would be abused to high hell. I'd uninstall if I was trying to stop an unhook and got teleported away, or my movespeed was too slow because everyone hid JUST outside my Terror Radius until the effect kicked in & then got an easy save.
The devs already tried a 'punishment' and all Survivors did was abuse the snot out of it.
Survivors yelling for a punishment just want an easy game, plain and simple. They want to shut down a playstyle they don't like for selfish reasons. A VALID playstyle, regardless of what anyone says.

Explain how not camping as a killer wouldn't be fun for them? What your saying is the killer not being skillfull and killing all four survivors without using cheap tactics is "boring"?
Just by reading what you said, you're probably already a boring killer to play against that only cares about "winning" the match.
What I'm saying is that the Devs should not enforce a playstyle based on the biased opinions of people salty at that very playstyle.
You call it 'cheap', I say the Killer might have had his/her reasons to camp. You have no right to say 'You can't do that!' and demand/ask the Devs to enforce your arbitrary rules.

I can see you're coming at this with bias right out of the gate, but nobody mentioned changing killer. This is the way it already is. The end goal of bridging that gap is being able to balance killers around coordinated groups without leaving solo players behind.
I understand the end goal. Maybe I did not say it very well.
What I meant was that, if solo's/all Survivors can aura read from inside lockers, while Killers currently can't see people in lockers, Killers are getting the short end of the stick.
So, in a way, Killers are being punished while Survivors get a buff. So Killers get nothing while Lockers become a new way to block all Aura perks from Killers without disabling Survivor Aura perks.
I mean, imagine OOO; You hide in a locker, you see the Killer's Aura, he can't see yours. Now you can say where he is on voice comms (if you're in a SWF) and basically be an invisible lookout for 40 seconds before the first Crow appears.
Or you hide in a Locker and see exactly where that Killer downed someone, or exactly where that Killer hooked someone, or exactly where EVERYONE is with that one perk (I forget the name)..and the Killer can't see you, even with BBQ.
So I'm against Survivors getting aura reading while in Lockers. They are a both-way Blind, and either it has to work both ways, or for no one, or it's just not balanced.
-
So, to close the gap between SWF & Solos, Survivors need aura reading in lockers while Killers can't see anyone hiding in lockers?
So, once again, Killers need to foot the bill for a fix meant to make Survivors stronger & get nothing in return.

Borrowed time is to counter camping which is either toxic or desperate.
Adrenaline is a reward for doing objectives.
Decisive counters tunneling which is either toxic or desperate.
Borrowed Time: Protects Survivors against bad plays in regards to unhooking.
Adrenaline: Rewards a Survivor with 1-2 Health states simply for existing when the last Gen is completed. Even if they played bad & were on the ground/Never touched a Gen themselves.
Decisive Strike: Rewards Survivors for bad plays that get them downed within 60 seconds of being unhooked.
But I get it; Survivor perks are either fine or under powered, while Killer perks need to be nerfed every 2 weeks. This is the mantra of the Survivor Main.

@Mister_xD Repairing gens is enough especially when you have a noob on the team. I don't have time to cleanse like 5 totems, I don't know where they are and I don't have many maps. 95% of the time its an easy down for a killer but why does the killer deserve this instant down? You could say because I didn't cleanse all totems but like I said, that rarely happens. There needs to be some requirement for noed to activate because its just an easy one-hit shot for killers. Yea I also don't use decisive but at least you have to do something for it to activate.
'I don't have time to cleanse all 5 totems'
Translation: I'm too lazy to do the secondary objective. Devs, please cater to me and remove NoED so I can lazily genrush & win in under 5 minutes. Anything preventing GGEZ is OP.
'There needs to be a requirement for NoED'
There is. Three, actually:
1) Having a Dull Totem left on the map when the last Gen is done
2) The last Gen being done.
3) You have to hit a Survivor. This does not always happen if the exit gates are spread apart & you pick wrong. Or there's good loops nearby. Or the Survivors have good mobility perks.
Stop whining for nerfs just because you're lazy. Cleanse totems.
-
..That's the point.
If the traps just just 'Boo!' and you could ignore them, they'd be pretty useless. They're meant to disorient you by grabbing your camera.

Lol yeah run around looking for and cleansing dull totems while the killer is camping. You can’t be serious. I guarantee if you were on the hook with a killer standing in front of you you would not be cheering the survivors on as they didn’t do generators. Campers with NOED is a clear issue as you can not counter both at the same time. But keep on being biased I guess.
In what world can't you cleanse totems if the Killer is camping?
I mean, if he's camping, he's not stopping you from doing gens or looking for totems since he's...you know..CAMPING.
But keep on being biased, I guess. Lies push your agenda more than the truth and you guys REALLY want your own biased play styles pushed into the game.

No its not really. The kilker just needs to use NOED aswell and the genrush will backfire. And when you don't genrush well good luck applying pressure on a killer in a 3v1 situation.
So a killer running 2 perks (50% of his perk loadout) and ONE of those perks being a Totem you can easily clear while he hook camps means the Devs need to nerf things instead of you learning how to play around it. IE: Clear totems and THEN genrush.
That's pure lazy, man. Learn to play around it instead of complaining & asking for selfish nerfs to make the game easier for you.

The devs are supposed to make the game fun.
Camping is not fun for anyone worth keeping in the playerbase.
Thus, camping should be punished.
It's not that complicated.
'It's not fun' is NOT an excuse.
LOSING is not fun, so remove losing.
Being puked on is not fun, so remove Plague.
Being hooked is not fun, so remove hooks.
Being chainsawed by a 100MPH Billy is not fun; remove Billy.
Being caught in a beartrap you did not see is not fun; remove Trapper.
No one claims losing or being focused is 'fun', so this is a flimsy excuse.
-
Because The Legion's power is really, really bad.
It actively stops itself from working.
1) Deep Wounds timer will not reduce if the Survivor is in a chase.
2) Deep Wounds CANNOT incap a Survivor who is actively mending, even if the timer hits 0
3) Legion LOSES Feral Frenzy gauge if they attack normally. Like, they will lose half the gauge for trying to down a Survivor.
4) Legion can't track Survivors using Feral Frenzy (They can't see blood or scratch marks). Though you will see the auras of non-Deep Wounds-suffering Survivors after hitting 1.
5) If you use Feral Frenzy to catch up to a Survivor, the 'extended cooldown' (4 seconds) means they WILL put 5 miles between you and them before you can run normally again. So you can't use it as a chase-closer.
6) You cannot break pallets while in Feral Frenzy (I think they have an addon that breaks any pallet you vault)
7) You can NOT incap someone by stabbing them in Feral Frenzy. You can take them from Healthy to Injured, but NEVER Injured to Dying.
Basically, Feral Frenzy can't be used to speed up a chase, due to the horridly long 4 second cooldown. It can't be used to send someone into Dying. And You can't pressure anyone into missing the Mend, since the timer stops in a chase.
It may as well not exist. They are an M1 killer with no power.
-
They might be running..Boil Over?
I know there is a perk that hides hook auras if a Killer is carrying someone who has it.
-
@gantes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/629099#Comment_629099
I disagree. The devs' goals is to make a fun game. Camping is fun for neither side, unless you're a sociopath. It promotes unskillful gameplay and broadens the gap between solo and SWF. It brings nothing good to the game.
And before someone pops here and says "muh survivors", yes, there are also poor design choices on their side that denies fun from everyone, like the way gens are currently done and the fact that DS doesn't punish only tunnelers and doesn't punish every tunneler either. But no design choice for survivors is as unfun or unskillful as facecamping.
You're also ignoring the fact that DBD is an asymetrical team game, yet it's also individual. Yes, the counterplay for camping is doing generators, but there is no INDIVIDUAL counterplay, which is also very important. There are ways to introduce individual counterplay to the game without breaking its balance. And it's not like good survivors enjoy doing generators too, and if you're not playing to have fun, why are you even playing?
Everything the devs can do to punish camping that doesn't break other aspects of the game, they should do it. Besides, this post is asking for a nerf for Insidious basically, which no good player ever uses. Defending this perk and its current uses is questionable at best.
I'm personally still in favor of at least making Kindred baseline, but w/e.
There should not BE any individual counter to camping. Because you'd have to take that individual fix and multiply it by 4.
Killers could have any number of reasons to camp:
That Claudette was twerking after ONE pallet stun.
That Jake was carrying a toolbox & sabo-ing hooks.
A 3-4-man SWF all logged in with toolboxes/medkits/flashlights & were meming. This kill took 3 minutes to secure thanks to insta-heals, 3 people with flashlights, meme-builds, & I want them dead.
Etc. Etc.
Because of this, I don't see camping as unfair. The Killer probably has a reason beyond 'I'm a jerk'. And asking for punishment is basically saying 'I don't like this playstyle. Cater to me & change game mechanics so no one can use it.'
Does it suck? Sure. I've had it happen to me, but I don't promptly go 'Grr! Camping should be removed!' because I'm not silly enough to assume the Devs should restructure the game around my little upset.
Camping exists. Camping is legit. Camping should NEVER be punished.
And adding any sort of 'You can't down anyone' like a FREE Borrowed Time perk IS a punishment.
-
@somewherenear said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/629075#Comment_629075
Not asking for punishment. Asking for counterplay. Why design something with no counterplay?
The counterplay is to do generators.
In the time it takes a Survivor to die on their first hook, a lone Survivor can do 2 generators with 20 seconds left to turn for a gate.
3 Survivors means 6 out of 5 Gens can be done, plus 20 seconds to get to a gate. And that's without adding in the likely 30-45 seconds to chase & down and carry and hook the Survivor in the first place.
I'd say that's pretty much counter play.
People need to stop asking for nerfs, punishments, buffs, and mechanics just because they dislike camping.
Camping is legit. It punishes itself. And Killers would do it less if people stopped flinging themselves at a hook they are near!
-
Boo-hoo. You got camped. Suck it up.
I'm bloody tired of seeing a new 'Punish campers because I hate the playstyle!' thread every 12 hours.
It's boring to see the same complaint in different flavors because people don't want to admit that potato players make camping effective.
Instead we get 'It's not OUR fault we swarmed a camping Killer! Punish camping! Learning when NOT to unhook is for scrubs! Let us throw ourselves at the Killer and they get punished for it!' yelled again..and again...and again...and again....and again..
-
Lord. Can we STOP with the punishments for camping?
It happens. It sucks when it happens to you. Get over it. Move on to the next game.

Judging by your other thread topics... no you do not.
Like I keep telling you I never asked for a killer nerf. I've asked for BALANCE.
But go ahead and reply again to tell me how biased I am.
Ok.
You're biased.
Limiting where Trapper can place his traps, even if you scream 'It's BALANCE!' all day, is a NERF. Your REDUCING his ABILITY to guard his totems or otherwise use his POWER.
IE: A nerf.
And you're asking for this NERF simply to cater to you because you had one bad match where YOU played badly & decided to blame the game and some imaginary bad balance that did not happen.
Don't bother replying; it's clear you came here looking for an echo-chamber and will scream 'It's BALANCE' all day to avoid admitting you're wrong. I'm done arguing. Tons of people have said you're wrong, and why, and you continue to repeat 'Balance!' again and again and again.
It's clear to me now that you won't, or can't, admit that you're wrong and you'll defend this biased idea day in and day out regardless of the facts given as to why you're wrong.
You never wanted facts, you just wanted people to agree with you. This is evidenced in the way that you have no argument other than, again, to scream 'It's BALANCE!' as your only reply like it's some magic word that make you correct & everyone else wrong regardless of silly things like 'facts'.

Dude what is your deal? You are clearly biased towards killers here.
I've said I want better totem spots. I've said I want Trapper buffs. I just DO NOT WANT THESE SPECIFIC TOTEMS TO BE SO EASILY DEFENDED!!
You have absolutely 0 understanding of game balance.
Dude, I understand game balance better than you do. See as how I'm not asking to nerf a Killer simply to cater to my own biased ideas as to how the game should be played, or my own flawed ideas as to how the Totems work. (Hint: Totems ARE meant to last an entire match if Survivors won't/can't cleanse them for any reason.)
Just because I'm arguing against you does not mean I have the bias. You're the one wanting the game changed to make it easier for you/for the role you prefer. That's pretty biased.

I've said many times elsewhere that Trapper needs buffs. Regardless of that, THIS is not something he should be allowed to do.
It's the same reason Pig was changed when EGC was introduced. While I don't agree with the exact change, I agree that there should be some exception for her during EGC because it's very clearly OP to have an RBT on your head while the EGC timer also counts down. This is basically the same thing, it doesn't matter that Trapper is weak he shouldn't be allowed to pull this kind of BS.
It was the Trapper using his power and you guys focusing too hard on that one totem.
Nothing was 'broken' 'unbalanced' or 'unfair'. It was simply the Trapper using his power the way he wanted too.
Just admit it; you want to nerf the Trapper so you don't have to play around this next time. That's literally what you are asking for. Nerfs to the Trappers trap placements because you believe Survivors should control Totems instead.
-

This is basically what I'm asking for, and only for these particular nooks. Place a mesh that doesn't allow traps inside the nook. THAT IS IT.
Everyone else is blowing my requests out of proportion or accusing me of wanting the game to be easier or offering completely invalid solutions to the problem. No I just want the game to be BALANCED. Hidden totems are fine. Totems that are impossible to destroy under by way of a passive ability are not.
Once again, weather you want to admit it or not, weather you CAN admit it or not, your idea of 'balance' is asking for the game to be made easier for Survivors for no reason other than you THINK it's unfair when Killers get that 1 in 1000 oppertunity to lock down ONE totem.
You're idea of balance is 'Survivors get to decide of a totem stays active. Not killers'. That's not balance. That's asking to UNBALANCE Totems so you have an easier time.
You know how I know? Because trapper used his power to stop you from messing with his Totem. Which is how it should be.
It was no different from Spirit running over, or Hag teleporting over, or Nurse blinking over every time you messed with the Totem.
You don't want balance. You want an easier game in favor of Survivors. Even if you can't admit it.

This will never happen. Also people who got perma ban have info on their steam profile that developer has blocked them from the game without getting into details. Also why do you need wall of shame with people already banned and not playing?
As for the past question; Because it may curb some people into behaving.
Some people act like a-holes on the internet because they will never be called out for it. Some of those people would probably not act like slime if they knew their name was put on a wall in their favorite game once they got perma-banned.

But if I broke any rules suggesting this; I'm sorry.

Umm...I have to disagree with this.
Why should I, as Killer, not be allowed to pip up if I bring a mori? I get that I don't get as much BP from mori kills but still..
Plus, as Survivor, what if I'm looking forward to ranking up and 4 killers in a row use Moris? That's roughly 1-2 hours of playtime without pips.

No, losing is still fun if you played well, had a decent chance, and got beaten. Of course it should stay. Camping, on the other hand, removes the ability to play the game for all five players, doesn't give anyone but the killer a chance to win, and requires almost no engagement for anyone involved. That's why it shouldn't exist. The majority of players hate it, and not in the same way they hate losing. A loss can usually be avoided, and avoiding a loss is part of the fun. If you get camped by Leatherface, it's hopeless. Just ######### to get to the next game faster.
You're completely wrong.
When you camp, 3 Survivors can clear 6 generators (2 gens EACH) before the Survivor on the hook dies. So your little factoid about camping preventing 5 people form playing is a flat-out lie.
Camping is fine. Take the loss and move on.

Except that games are meant to be fun. If something in the game is causing so much trouble that it gets mentioned here every day, it should not exist.
That's horrible logic.
Nobody likes losing. the game is less fun when you lose, so should losing be taken out? Should Killer and Survivor hold hands?
The only reason camping is not fun (for YOU) is because you got camped. So you want it removed so you can win next time, which would be less fun for the Killer..See the cycle?
Again; camping is FINE. You only dislike it because you lost and, like many, MANY players recently, you decided 'I lost, therefor I should ask the devs to cater to me and change the game so I can win!'
Instead of 'Maybe I should improve so I don't get camped next time'. Because that would take effort and you don't want to take effort, so you came here to try and get your way.

That's not the point. Face camping is a terrible thing that makes survivors feel powerless, and they can't do anything about it. It's a guaranteed depip and death that you can't control. It's boring for the killer, the hooked survivor, and the gen rushing survivors and it should not be allowed in this game.
It's a legit tactic that punishes itself.
Just because you don't like it does not mean the devs should suddenly program in 300 inane rules to limit/prevent camping.
Killers can have tons of reasons why they camped, and it's not up to you to decide if those reasons were valid or not, nor can the devs program the game to realize if THIS camping Trapper is doing it to be spiteful while THAT camping Spirit did it because they suspected the Survivor had Dead Hard & Sprint Bust & Decisive Strike.
Bottom line: Camping exists. Camping is legit. Camping should not be punished.

Those rules are kind of draconic. I mean, this guy was going from pre-game to pre-game saying something pretty bad. Is there any way for me to report & submit the screenshot? @Peanits
This is NOT the type of person you want in your game. I can't even hint at what he said or what his name was.

Sorry about the bad apples. People can be legit ducks in this game for sure.
Good news though: post-game chats are already logged so you don't need to provide any screenshots. The in-game report will do just fine (hopefully your friend reported the player back when)
It was pre-game.
The guy logged in, said something flat out horrid, and then left. This made it impossible to report him in game.

And what if it was Devour? You can't just ignore that totem, you kinda have to do it. Or NOED? Heck even Third Seal can be really strong if you get 4 stacks before it's up, because you can just slug everyone and win.
This isn't a case of playing bad. It's a case of the killer having basically a permanent totem.
Still waiting for someone to explain why they removed the ability to do exactly this with just 1 trap in LT walls.
If it was NoED, it would have been blind luck that he trapped the right Dull Totem.
If it was after the Gates were powered, we would have had both gates opened before he could set 3 traps around 1 Totem.
If it was Devour Hope, we would have died.
If it was Third Seal, we would have had no aura reading.
The point of Hex's are that they are powerful if left untouched. You don't DESERVE to break them.
You got out played. He got lucky his Totem was in a trappable area, and you spent too much time trying to break it instead of doing Generators.
Stop asking for the devs to change totems so you can have an easier game. This is childish.
The Killer had to BE trapper. Then he had to get that map. Then he had to get THAT layout. Then he had to get a totem in that ONE spot. Then it had to be the right totem. Then he needed a team of potatoes to focus on the Totem instead of generators.
Stop being a potato. Grow up. And STOP ASKING FOR NERFS IN PLACE OF YOUR OWN SKILL!

Ok so then it's just fine that a totem can go completely uncontested. Right.
Like I said that spot you mention on Yamaoka is a bit different. You could actually play around it. This one there is no wiggle room. You have to disarm the traps.
The fact all 4 of you died because of it kinda proves my point that it's dumb.
It was dumb because we played dumb.
We could have ignored it & powered through it. The Killer was sticking near his totem because WE stuck near his totem.
WE PLAYED BAD.
The game was not broken. Totems did not need a new spawn. It was not unfair that the Trapper did what the trapper DOES, which is deny area.
So no, it does not prove your point. Your point is invalid. You are wrong. The totem spawns do not need to be maid brainless so you can break the totem whenever you want.
You. Are. Wrong.

Ive often wondered if the game would be more fun w/o totems all together. Where the totem perks would be active until the trap door conditions are met. Likewise, Haunted grounds will trigger once the trapdoor conditions are met. Thrill of the hunt might need a rework but that's a general perk so it's probably fine.
Hex: Ruin would be nine flavors of OP if it just existed with no way to turn it off.

You still fail to see the point.
It's not about winning. It's about the totem being almost invincible. What if it was Devour? Or NOED? I wouldn't have much of a choice but to cleanse it.
I hope a Trapper uses this on you guys someday soon and you see my side.
Welp, this shows you're ignoring anyone who disagrees.
I did say a Trapper used it on me. We even lost all 4 people because of focusing too hard on trying to get to the Totem.
And we did not come onto the forums and demand that the Devs make the game easier.

You're not going to disarm and sabo 3 traps before he has the chance to come back. That's a full chase and a half. He will stop you.
It's clear by everyone's response here that none of you know what I'm talking about. Wait until a Trapper pulls this on you, I promise your tune will change when you see how dumb this setup it.
I had a trapper pull it on me on The Spirit's map.
Guess what we did? Powered through and continued to play.
Guess what we did NOT do? Come onto the forums & whine that totem placements needing to change because of ONE match in 133 hours of playing.

a 3% action speed increase is tiny for these kinds of actions.
Spine chill alone is 6% and works on more things and has a crap ton of utility outside of that. And botany is 33% towards healing which is by far the most common Altruistic Action you preform in the game and also works on self healing.
And at max stacks that's 14.2857143 seconds per heal down from 16. All of that work for less than 2 seconds faster healing.
Numbers can be changed, of course. :) I don't know how much a 1% changes anything, myself. It was more for the concept. :)

No. Punishments for a valid playstyle are silly.
You may not like being camped, but that does not mean the Killer was 'wrong' or 'mean' to do so.
I've browsed a few pages on here since joining; why are people so dead set to punish a valid play style? Like..it's valid. It exists. You being unhappy does not mean devs should change it.
