Well it is an asymmetrical game! Though I do agree the balance still feels wonky!
As far as everyone having different playstyles... I main Legion! I always feel like i'm one of the few that do!
I dunno how to explain how I even play. I dont engage in chases too long without a pallet or hit. I dont engage in broken loops except maybe one or two go arounds to see if they mess up. I absolutely hate camping and tunneling. Hatch dont bother me. I plan for endgame from spawn and change perks depending on survivors in the lobby. I also typically try to match the survivors I'm paired with skill level so everyone can have fun.
I main Spirit, Huntress, Pig, and Hag. I used to play Nurse, but Spirit was just more appealing to me mechanically and aesthetically. As long as it's not Billy I'll play whoever I feel is right at that moment.

I understand! I merely ask you stay civil to both sides! After all, everyone here whines at some point!
Though I will agree to the second thing! I have to figure out 12 perks, 4 items, 12 possible add-ons AND how the person seems to play. Add to that how gens are focused down and it gets to be alot! Killer is rather stressful, and if you disagree (people reading this), go play Killer for a bit!
Trust me when I say I'm still being civil at this point. I just find it funny how foolish people can be. I attempt to help them, but its usually meh. Everyone has there own playstyle some are better at this game then others. Yet the core problem is everyone in this game is entitled and feels they are the only correct one and find like minded people.
Honestly when it comes to what items people are running I generally assume they are running the best medkits or insta medkits, same with toolboxes and flash lights. Better to assume and they dont have it then assume they dont and get behind. It's a joke though
Survivor's 4 items, 8 addons, 16 perks, 4 playstyles
vs
Killer's 2 addons, 4 perks, 1 playstyle.

It's really weird how people on both sides yell about something being broken as long as it hurts them, but if it helps it's fine.
Though more to the point! Alot of people do DC cause Spirit is "broken" Well if that's the case, you arn't learning anything you can do against her, therefore making yourself ignorant of how to face her.
Come on, we have alot of weak Killers and yall are yelling about nerfing Spirit before buffing anyone else. It's getting to the point I don't think yall want me to even move!
That's because most people who play survivor almost exclusively outside a few killers games from events and dailies dont want to have to learn and feel entitled to well survive every trial.
I do with they would give weaker killers buffs those instead of "reworking" stronger ones.

LMAO!!!!
You Killah Mainz really don't want the Spirit's imbalanced power to be balanced. No surprise there.
You can list every possible "counter-play" for the Spirit, but the fact remains that counter-play for the Spirit is the equivalent of hiding a coin in one of your hands, putting your hands behind your back, and asking someone to choose which hand has the coin. I picked left when I should have picked right.
Her husk is going to get a nerf so that way she can't make Survivors play Russian Roulette at every chase.
I would rather just have prayer beads removed. After that's removed survivors shouldn't have an excuse to DC and instead start looking for tricks to beat her. If a killer main manages to figure out how a survivor acts with 4 people every match. You should be able to figure out a killer easier.

The only reliable thing I could possibly say is to listen for her footsteps to tell if she's phasing. The glass shard thing is dependent on cosmetic and depending on lighting in the map, is extremely hard to notice mid-chase.
I couldn't really help either honestly. I only know how I play against Spirit, but it's like playing against Nurse I'm just good at it cant really describe how. I always figured it's because I have mained them so I know what I look for and do the stuff I know would confuse me and make me lose them.
Her best outfit is honestly the schoolgirl collection because it really hurts the subtle hints she gives. I would hope you take some time to look into more tips and hints because I feel with the Nurse rework she will become a hugely more popular killer. People say IW is her counter have truely not played against a good Spirit. Again you happen to be well regarded and respected so you can hopefully help shed some light to players.
Also since you replied to me on something and I got your attention. Would you do a updated Huntress guide for the new perks added and since directional humming is not a thing anymore. I've been curious about your thoughts for awhile.
*totally not a demanding person*

For real? How do survivors think she is that powerful when you can tell she is phasing?
It's a subtle tell that most people can't tell because few people bother to learn how to play against her.

I don't have real advice. None of it consistently works against a good Spirit. Even if you momentarily avoid one phase, a good Spirit will likely use only a small portion of the power and will have it back in like 6-7 seconds as a result.
Thats true to a degree I dont even have a headset on half the time as a Spirit since people try and vault not realizing I can see the dust on the vault.
I meant your a incredibly well respected person in this community. Even providing small details like how her glass shards and hair change when shes phasing vs faking. How the enviroment does not actually move when shes walking through grass, but crows still go off.
Providing these details from someone like you. Will at least get people to listen instead of having these arguments constantly how she has no counters has no tells. I mean your spirit guide was legitimately hilarious yet people basically swore up and down for awhile that's how it was without understanding there was more to it then that.

@ScottJund said:
For all the bits of advice given here, some good, some meme worthy, sadly most of it really boils down to "just guess correctly." There are bits of advice that help skew things slightly more towards your favor, but at the end of the day you are just guessing, which is why most people hate playing against her.
Why not help with this information that can help push it towards your direction as a Survivor? A lot of people listen to your advice because your a well known player. So putting the real information out there might help against her.

Yeah the potential for abuse is there. Sweaty SWF teams will find a way to play together with 5 perks while not in SWF.
Exactly. Not like it will be hard to invite people to a party regardless. On PC it's a bit harder, but possible.
-
@8obot1c said:
If you guys want to boost solo play then suggest having a 5th perk slot. it will work like this, you can equip a perk in the 5th perk slot, but if a survivor joins your party or you join there's it will disappear. Them having a 5th perk slot will only help them, not a whole team (Unless you use meta perks, but there is only like 4). Would having a 5th perk slot work out for solo que?
Now that I'm solo I shall invite everyone else to a quick party so we can all have a 5th perk and be awesomely OP.

It depends on how you play him. Even at red ranks i've seen them do well. If you just run around thinking you can saw everything in sight you've already lost. It's the same kind of huntresses that try to go for snipes instead of hitting with m1 sometimes. Need to play smart, this game isn't hard.
TLDR: Play smarter not harder.
XD sorry nvr seen a good example of this like your post.

@Yamaoka said:
Leatherface is not weak AT ALL unless you don't know how to play him which is often the case based on how many people abuse him to facecamp after struggling to m1 a survivor for minutes.
See I agree with this. I can get a 4k with LF quite easily without camping or tunneling. I normally play 110 killers so the booted speed means as a 115 I have little trouble dealing with Survivors without his chainsaw.
Also PWYF is the reason I actually started to play with LF and it is unbelievably good in him.
PWYF, Discordance, PGTW, Ruin is my current build anymore for him.
-

I did that for Pig on PS4. This time I'll be a little smarter and not unlock every single teachable on PC.

For killer I picked a main and unlocked people around her builds and some other killers perks I would need based on other killers.

the only time I understand placing them all in proximity is body blocker hag which is fun as hell
I play incredibly strong with Hag and Trapper. Probably a lot better with them then any other killer because of my experience with being a ex survivor main for so long.
I like her traps for mind game purposes once I get you to crouch I have effectively just won because time is on my side now. It's still got some complications to it, but that's usually the turning point for me.
-
Feng Min looks like my S/O so yep chose her for reasons xD
Spirit I decided on because she visually and mechanically appealed to me.
Huntress is fun in love her.
Pig is amazing to play I still need to get @GrootDude to teach me how to double back with her on console.
Hag because I like chess and I place traps in a way almost all survs will crouch the entire game. Wont matter if I'm a 110 if ur not even 80 percent.

What survivor builds are you running that don’t use an exhaustion perk? I really like Nancy, so I’m trying to synergize with her new perks by running Spine Chill, Focused, Inner Strength, Iron Will. I’m playing it as a stealth build; you know when the killer is heading your way and can use Focused to disappear without a trace. Iron Will and Inner Strength are supposed to buy you enough time to find a totem and heal to get your Focused buff back.
What builds without an exhaustion perk are you running?

She didn’t get legioned though, Peanits confirmed that you recover while in fatigue so just keep using one blink to patrol (after fatigue it is a 0.5 second wait) and in chase you’ll only have to wait 3.5 seconds after blinking twice. I think she’ll still be the top dog.
That's a issue I could work around though it does seem a bit irritating, but I was talking specifically how you can see her blink towards the end now.

There's probably 2 things I would change with Spirit's base.
- Make the phase audio louder (loud enough to not hear footsteps but still hear injured survivors)
- Give survivors a 'tell' that she is using her power (like an animation or something)
One of these would probably make her less frustrating for survivor players.
1 is legit her base kit and whats shes designed to do follow footsteps not just injured people who will all run IW. This will basically hurt any new Spirit players significantly.
2 she has animations for when she goes into phase that's highly noticeable when u know what your looking for.

I experienced it. I mained Legion before (and never used that stupid moonwalking crap) then got screwed over by the "Rework"...
Honestly a few tweaks from old Legion and we could of kept a unique and awesome killer. The tweaks just removing the exploits and bugs. Not have the legion of today. I truely am sorry for your loss.
@Sylorknag said:
Com on guys. He's probably new. Don't be mean. I too am rank 17 potato as a survivor, and somehow climbed to 5 as killer. Teaching the ropes.
Let me ask you something then. Well you are probably correct in your assumptions that TC is new. Should every killer be nerfed or mentioned for nerfs repeatedly because a player things that a strategy that's commonplace is OP?
If your a Rank 5 Killer and get paired with a group of highly competent players who loop efficiently and know how to control your bloodlust well should we scream bans for vaults and pallets?
I honestly can't take people seriously who ask for nerfs of this or that anymore. Killers want one thing nerfed and Survivors another, but reality is rarely if ever does a perk, killer, or mechanic need a nerf. Old Decisive Strike, Old Metal of Man, Old Legion, and hopefully one day Spirit's Prayer Beads these are prime examples of things that needed nerf's.
I would honestly prefer QoL updates for killers we rarely see so that even of they are not top tier we can at least see more then the commonplace Red Rank Killers.

The trapper should not be able to place traps on exit doors. 3 games in one night I had trappers bring ruin place trap on totem and camp it then put traps on exits door and just take the game hostage or make it 3 times as long.
Next imma hear
Trapper cant use traps, Wraith can bing bong, Billy can't chainsaw, Nurse can't blink, Hag cant trap, Doctor cant shock, Myers can't stalk..... hold on a second why do killers even have this massively unfair advantage of having powers let's remove them *looks at Legion* now everyone's even right?
Jk either way it's part of the game every killer has a power and they do some obvious things it's just better to learn majority of Trappers trap the door once a few gens are done.

Spirit is p3 all perks some cosmetics I usually like the school girl outfit, but switched recently to the one in the picture above.
Personally I think you should only prestige the killers you main and enjoy while only doing one Survivor of each gender.

@xZeroStrike said:
I think the general view of spirit is split into two parties: the one that thinks she's fine and the one that thinks she's not.
I have a feeling that everyone is slightly missing the point. Spirit isn't "OP" in the sense that her power is Nurse-like. She still needs to respect boundaries such as pallets, windows and general map structures.
The problem with Spirit is this:
She's boring to play against, because playing against a spirit is a guessing game, not a mindgame.
I'll try and picture this a bit more clearly:
- Mindgame: Just like Chess
- With Chess, both parties start on equal footing. In DbD, this is a simple pallet loop mindgame: Both parties make a move, and one party will win a move when another makes the wrong one. What differs this from a guessing game is that you can see what your opponent is doing. They just moved their Horse and my Queen is in its targetting area, better move her away. In DbD, a mindgame is similar: The killer moved left, I noticed this, I can now move the other way. But wait, I just saw that he has set up to double back all along, I change my direction and hope I can still win this.
- Guessing game: Like Whack-A-Mole
- You don't know where the mole is going to pop out from but you make a guess! Hit! Nice. Next one! Missed... now the mole is gone, I lost. In DbD, facing Spirit is like this, except this time the mole is trying to whack you and you need to dodge it. You've got no clue where the mole, or the Spirit, will pop out from. But the mole knows where you are. You can guess and hope the mole missed or that you dodge it succesfully, or you can get a hammer on the nose. You've got a 50/50 chance of winning this and no tactics will help you, because if you dodge left to early, the mole will just pop out on the left and hit you.
This is honestly a stupid example but it encompasses exactly what's going on when facing a Spirit, you'll just need a tiny bit of imagination. Facing a spirit, beads or not, is a guessing game. She'll know where you are, but you don't know where she is. You can drop the pallet, but how do you know if she's not already on the same side as you? She has ways to track your every move, you don't.
This doesn't make Spirit "broken" the same level a Nurse can be when she laughs in Blink as she teleports through the loop and gives you surgery, but it does make her incredibly annoying and frustrating to play against, as your fate is in the simple hands of a coin toss.
You forgot that the meta Spirit would get countered by is also the one meta no one likes to play. So instead of adapting to playing stealth and being like a blendette people prefer to loop the one killer who has the single highest non broken chase potential in the game. If she stays the same people will adapt to her just like they have with Nurse. Everyone wants to get nerfs because why learn something though. I still get people who dnt know how to play against plague, freddy, and legion.
Otherwise your examples were spot on and how I tell people on psn.
- Mindgame: Just like Chess

Lol coming from a Spirit mAiN - in my opinion you should git gud and not play only as the op killers but hey your obvious lack of skill is just an opinion :)
I'm a Spirit main who happens to play weaker killers too on a frequent basis.
Spirit is strong incredibly so, but she has counter plays that few people bother to exploit or work with. I mean she gets common at red ranks really fast, but I never see people prepare for her and scream shes too strong.
You know she's coming and you know the playstyle that hurts her the most. Yet I see people run generic meta perks from a YT personality and try and loop her.
Instead of screaming she's too powerful and too OP maybe it's time to actually apply some brain power and figure out if shes faking or not.

I disagree. It's pretty pointless against killers like Wraith and Hag, who don't need too hear you too find you. Plus the killer can just use their eyes or bring perks like Whispers too find you anyways.
Yet I lose everyone anyways. Between IW, Q&Q and my cosmetics I do extremely well against every killer. IW may be stronger against certain killers, but it's always useful.
Btw IW is not the hard counter ppl act like it is against Spirit.

If a perk is needed too counter a killer, who you have a roughly 1/17 chance of fighting, there is a problem. She has no practical counterplay, and the ones that exist are Iron Will and Spine Chill, but no one should be forced too use a perk on the off chance they get that killer. Bringing Iron Will against someone like Trapper is pretty much useless.
IW is always good

It saddens me that such a cool killer with a unique and funny power has to be so weak with many hurdles.
The beartraps are extremely underwhelming unless you use 1 or 2 certain addons and even then they rely completely on RNG. If survivors need to search all Jigsaw boxes in order to get their trap off, then Pig is strong.... but if they get it on first one, then she is the definition of trash. As player you should never be at the mercy of luck like that. And without tampered timer and Jigsaw Sketch, it is literally impossible to get a beartrap sacrifice as survivors have 10 years time.
Her dashattack is utterly useless vs better players.
In my personal opinion it would already be a big help and probably enough if beartraps and its add-ons would get tweaks. For example:
- Tampered Timer effect is now activated by default (reduce the death timer). Change this add-on to "The traps no longer require a generator to be completed in order to start"
- Ruleset No.2 effect is now default as well (survivors can only see the box aura if the timer started). Change this ultra rare add-on to "Survivors can never see the auras of the boxes now". Slightly increase the sound that the boxes emit to make them more detectable.
Rule set number 2 honestly base would be a horrible idea. It just means people do gens then do traps vs where you want them to do traps then gens.

It’s about making him fun not just better. PWYF is gimmicky and it won’t make him any less lame or even significantly stronger.
It boost him to about a A tier killer. With PWYF if you know how to use it you can kill sweaty SWF pretty easy.
It's also pretty amazing on Wraith
-
-
I generally play the same way against a SWF now. Slug the unhooked and chase the unhooker or visa versa. Leave the unhooked on the ground and place the unhooker on the hook. Find another survivor this puts 4 people out of the game momentarily. Since survivor 4 needs to get the slugged guy.
Who cares if there SWF or not if they cant do anything.
-
Lol no just get PWYF silly and marvel how good he becomes.
