  • BHVR has problems to track a Killrate just because someone dcs or not.

Do you really think they can make a good MMR system with X variables?

I want to change my thought on this. Well if people are doing that then we Can make it just the ranked system to some form of Skill based match making that ur rank will be with others in that rank. So players that do, Tunnel, Slug, Camp, Gen Rush, Sabo Squads and other Play styles that are competitive/Sweaty will be placed with others that are that way.

Honestly this can be tested in a PTB and if its done right it can solve so many issues players have

    Sounds good doesn´t work either.

The problem in DbD is that the win conditions aren´t the same.

If I get a 4k with 4 hooks as Nurse then it is not as impressiv as getting a 2k at 10 hooks as trapper.

Now you can say well go for hooks than. But still a Trapper needs easier games than a nurse to get the same amount of hooks.

There are to many variables in this game.

What is Gen rush? If I finish the gens in 2.55? or in 3.02 minutes? what about 5.05? is this still rushing?

    You understand the problem?

There needs to be something, the match is just so unfun when the ping advantage is so much.

    I totally agree with you.

But sadly there is an old saying.

We can´t have something nice because some people over do it.

  • Cause people really hate different game modes for some reason.

Yeah they are fun like 1 or 2 times when they drop. Then people optimize the full fun out of it and it´s kinda a dead mode.

Light Out? Welcome to slugging hell or hide till forever

Chaos Shuffle? You mean free tunneling or gen rush?

Prop Hunt sounds fun, till someone decides that it is meta to turn into the smallest object and hides or glitches beneath something.

  • And still the people log in…

  • I agree, BHVR fu**** this one up.

Some maps like Haddonfield really needed more pallets and they felt pretty fair. Not perfect but better than having 2 pallets on the street before being a giant dead zone.

But some maps didn´t need more pallets like the asylum.

The problem occours now. Where many players claim that BHVR is going full Killer side with removing strong pallets but I think they messed up with the code.

    What do I mean?

Imagine you are going to Mac Millan and you got 15 pallets. 10 strong once and 5 weaker. Now the update came and boosted the map to 25 pallets. 10 stong once, 5 weaker once and 10 filler. Now the magic happens. BHVR says lets go back to the start and they don´t remove the filler pallets. suddelnly the maps could look like this. 4 strong pallets, 3 weaker pallets 8 filler pallets.

Same amount of pallets but the map is much more weaker.

  • Yeah would be good till the cherry picking start.

Oh the Killer has 61 Ping? Next

Oh my mate has a 200 Ping? Next

Oh nice this lobby is well but someone saw the Killer only has a ping of 40 and thats to high for him… Next!

  • I think many people have suggested to have a ranked mode but many really belive this would seperate the casuals from the tryhards.

I got some experience with ranked modes and I agree with you the first few weaks it will be amazing. Tryhard try to climb and the normal queue detoxes. But than the s***show will start.

Many "tryhards" will see that they aren´t that good at all and as soon as they get matched vs enemys which are on their Skill level or higher they will start to raid the normal queue to release stress.

I don´t know if it is human behaviour to try to show skill against the weak. But it will happen, it always does.

I remember playing once SoloQ for hours to complete the tome Asap since there was 8 days left and i needed 20 levels to reach 100.

People were absurdly bad and we were losing for almost any killer, even weak M1 ones like Trapper or Ghostface

After some time I remember being so mad at my teammates that i DCed after a bad chase ( and i NEVER dc, NEVER EVER). I was so burned out from the game that i couldn't stand any minimal annoyance or frustration. Then i realized it was time to stop and do something else.

People are getting more and more stressed and can't let go of the game, then stuff like you've said happens. Also, there are so many entitled survivor that they feel they are right to blame others when the match is not going their way, even if they are the reason their team is sinking.

I can understand the urge to dc. Belive me I played League of Legends long enough. But I am one of these people which never surrender.

But now that I think about it. The behaviour of Vittorio seems to be "normal" in many games. How often I have seen on laner in League saying. "Well ######### we are 10k gold ahead but I didn´t have fun so I run it down, because when I don´t have fun you don´t deserve to win.

From time to time I thought oh nice a troll but this isn´t trolling anymore.

It really feels like an addiction when you don´t hit the satisfication you just try to take everything down.

They should just remove the Hatch and put in a surrender option, at this point.

It would make Killers happier because now they are almost guaranteed to win, and Survivors don't have to sit in a doomed game getting slugged for ego.

I made some time ago a post here how the hatch could be changed.

Short version: If only 2 Survivors are left in the trial let the hatch spawn.

If one escapes the other gets moried.

If the Killer closes the hatch gens go down to one gen (maybe with less progress needed)

  • Well as a Solo or Duoque player with a 40% escape rate I can say I do more often flame my randoms than the Killer.

Btw I like to be sarcastic so here are some of my favorie quotes:

    • 4 gens up and Killer is tunneling me out while two teammates are doing totems. "Oh nice atleast the Killer won´t have noed when we finish the gens."
    • Me hanging from hook seeing only my mates aura being chased by the Killer "Nice we got ninjas"
    • Last gen at 99% two teammates are healing against perma T3 Myers "Don´t worry being full life won´t let him one shot us that easy."
    • Meding and healing vs Legion with sloppy butcher (the old sloppy) "Damn we needed only 1 gen worth of time to self care and legion got it away in a single second but thankfully he didn´t downed me with his abilty"

I could rant on and on… but what I want to say is the following.

You can´t buff Survivors for the incompetence of some soloque players. Even with 20 pallets more on some maps this wouldn´t be enough when you teammates decide to do nothing.

7 - Chandler Riggs, yeah. It's not the same. I've heard that every person that was on the stream lobby needed a contract. I believe that it was for security reasons aswell

1 - And that should be handled differently. Now we have items that barely does anything and has very limited uses - wouldn't you agree?

2 - Freddie is actually amazing to play around pallets, sadako is totally different playstyle. Your examples are weird.

3 - Can't blame people for using map offering that actually felt fair - which mostly were azarovs and macmillans.

    1. I liked the Fog Vials before they became a dusty fart. But as I stated. Most of the players, Killer and Survivor wanted them by a token system. The density was never the main problem. In my personal opinion they could have made the fog much cloudier and make it one time use.
    2. Yeah my argument lacks a bit there because I am stupid from time to time. But my point was that M1 Killers were a hell to play when every gym had kinda 2 pallets. I think some maps needed new pallets but BHVR overdoing it on some others and they couldn´t revert somehow just overdoing it in the wrong direction.
    3. As I said fair would it be if the map would be random every round. You could go "Well s*** this map again but what can you do" Instead of "This map offering again". And we both know that eyrie wasn´t thrown because it is a fair map right?
  • Question by me (I know I am annoying but I like to see the bigger picture)

How would anti Slug helping against the Slug for the 4k?

    You go down

Killer searches for the other Suvivor

    You stand up

    Killer downs the other Survivor

    Killer chases you

Keep going till someone bleeds out.

So it is like it was before just with changing targets.

  • Point 1: Most complains on Survivor and Killer side were the unlimited use of the smoke bombs not the fog itself. It was kinda "bs" that as soon as any chase started the item was usable.

Point 2 speaks against your point 6 or do you really belive that you would see more Killers like Freddy or Sadako when the map would be full of pallets?

Point 3 is kinda valid, just let all maps in the rotation. Map offerings on the other side were a bad design all the time. I play mostly Soloque and it was always the same maps because of map offerings. So either get rid of them completly so that pure rng decides which map is played on or live with the same maps over and over again, because we already saw that most of the time eoc was used.

Point 5: Even when I mostly play Survivor and always scream at my monitor for "bs" hits I know the feeling of the other side aswell. Hitting a Survivor and hearing him scream, blood on my screen and still survivor is healthy. Ping related things can´t be nerfed or buffed.

Point 7: The Devs don´t listen to content creators. Just look at the Stream they did with Otz and Carl from the walking dead (I forgot his name it wwas something like chandelier but I don´t know) The problem BHVR has is that they tend to nuke everything they see as a problem instead of trying things out with it. Fog Vials? Nuke! Skull Merchant? Nuke!

To be fair, this Thread is a big echo chamber and according to OP, there is no room for disagreement here. You just have to tell why you feel the need to tunnel (reality: It is the easiest and most efficient way to play the game), but discussions are not wanted here.

True that but you could still write a post like:

If I play Killer I don´t see the reason to tunnel. Because…

This would be the counter point to the players which stated why they need to tunnel.

  • @tes said:

You can’t report people who simply silently disagree with you, and there are no rules to be against specific position

I doubt OP can avoid actual judgement of this post

I didn´t ask for report. It is kinda amusing for me. You know me since you are in the most discussion that I am in and you know that I like to actually… discuss things. But it is hard to do this if the other side of discussion just votes you down without saying a single thing of "Why" they disagree with you.

The point of I disagree with you but I don´t know what I could say against you so I downvote you is funny to me. Because if you disagree you could just say your opinion or not?

  • Oh the silent downvoters have begone. Took them quiet some time.

On pc it’s such a cake walk to aim and turn, but on console it’s a absolute mess. One wrong camera angle it’s going off to no where or the ground.

You want ppl to stay and keep playing? Fix things that need actual fixing!

This also goes for Pyramid heads rite of judgment, way to clunky on console. Can’t flick or anything

Didn´t CoconutRTS make a video where he found out that Trickster isn´t spraying his knives so much on controller? So he build a way to use his controllerand mouse to push the lethality of Trickster for fun?

Don´t get me wrong but such things will get abused somehow XD

  • I think a main problem is the unknown factor of what will happen in this round.

You can go into a round as Killer with the attitude of going for a fun game.

Some will appreciated that you don´t play by your full potential, the others will mock you.

So you go into the next round and play by your full potentcial and nuke the cute sable which only wanted to pet the dracula doggo. They will hate you for it.

So many players went "f*** it" and ignored the "Fun part for the other side" of the game and played their best (which is their right to do so.) Survivors are kinda different. Yes if they want to nuke you they will do it. But most of the time they want some funny chases.

The problem is you can´t say which survivors you verses and if you realize these are the toxic once the exit gate could be already powered.

  • Well in the few cases I play Killer from time to time I have the feeling that I have to tunnel to keep the pressure up right.

I play Clown, Chucky, Myers and Trapper because I am horrible with speedy Killers and trash without crosshair.

Normally I get a good chunk of Survivors, some who win and some who lose. So the MMR isn´t that much of a problem.

The problem accours when the air becomes toxic or sweaty if you want.

You know those games. You are running at the start of the game to the furthest gen and it´s nearly done. "Okay no problem that means the other gens are most likely at 0%" You go into your first chase. Predrop, tbag, running straight to the next pallet. "3 gens pop in your face when you caught the cocky survivor. But the moment you are looking at the the popped gens you realize well… none of these was the first gen you saw. So they are kinda down to the last gen.

So my only chance to get a Kill in that round is to tunnel that guy out. Because there is no way to get a 12 hook game.

Another reason why I tunnel in some games is when survivors body block doors when they are from hook. That is the reason why I was hyped for the ellusive status effect.

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

I have just one rule as killer. Flashlights are fair play, but if you run Head-On, don't be sad or mad if I mori you. That perk is not fun to go against.

Also, you won't see me run a flashlight on survivor, unless I am there to meme with a silly build to boot.
Heck, I don't even run Exhaustion/Finesse and those kinds of perks, because I know how annoying it is to face.
The only perk I run to slow the killer down is Blast Mine, but that is a rather harmless perk in the grand scheme of things. I just laugh it off if I get hit by one when playing killer.

Though I have seen people tilt off the face of the planet from getting hit by a single blast mine.

Blast mine is my eye rolling perk as Killer. XD

Yeah, if those two things would not have happened, Rick would not have been tunneled. I know what you mean, but this isnt really the point.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4033712#Comment_4033712

I mean, the Forum is already full of "Dear Diary, today Survivors were mean to me", so I dont see any issue if the Forum now also features "Dear Diary, today Killers were mean to me".

He looped the Killer for 3 and a half gens. This is pretty good. Even more if Meg would have worked with them.

  • Some people will always be mad. Want an example?

Yesterday I play my Chucky and I went for the 8 hook before Killing style.

So i had 6 hooks without tunneling but I never found the Claudette. So I searched her, found her and hooked her. Left the hook going to pop a gen. Claudette gets unhookd, healed hides again. I come back because I need her for 8 hooks. Get her again.

Claudette died to the 11th hook in this game.

    Endgame chat:

Claudette: Noob Killer can´t win without hardcore tunneling.

Me: Excuse me… you had 2 gens left when you all died.

Claudette: Yeah because its impossible to win a 3v1 if you tunnel at 5 gens.

  • Well… I am confused…

We want Skill expression… but we want save pallets…

How do I show Skill if i am only in danger when i f*** up?

How safe must pallets be so that it is okay to go down there?

Btw some pallets are really bs but they aren´t there to get a 5 gen chase around them. Their 50/50 play is by greeding another round or hitting the stun. If you do you can run to the next tile or another round. If you don´t… well you get the hit.

  • So why did Yui stop her gen? And why is Meg healing instead of doing gens?

  • From time to time I hate blight but it is rare that I feel a difference in his speed.

My problems with him is his MS beeing 4.6ms while Killers like Spirit has a 4.4ms because she can catch up quickly. Make that make sense bhvr…

And another thing I hate about Blight is his ultra long lunge at the end of his charge which feels like 10 times faster than other Killers plus the ability to flick a 180 degree into it.

  • Hot take by me.

The pink one was okay if no other effects could speed it up.

But to be ultra rare like some people claim it to be it shouldn´t be in every game. Something beeing always avaiable is not ultra rare it is… common…

This is a problem with the new Bloodweb and If you got a prestige 100 Survivor. I can farm these addons and use it all the time if I wanted to and to be fair why shouldn´t I? Thats why I think to claim it is okay to be strong because it is rare is not a good point for this argument.

On the other side the purple addon could bring you into a lose lose situation as the Killer if the survivor had a vault close by.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

The things that probably go through some of the players minds when

    • 1 person gets tunneled out at 5 or 4 gens
    • Theres more gens left then survivors
    • The killer is downing people very quickly
    • The whole team is getting slugged instead of hooked
    • The killer brings a very annoying build like with devour hope
    • The player themselves are getting tunneled right off the hook
    • The killer is someone they really don't like playing against or is very strong

they either feel like getting to the next round faster by getting it over with, or they've tried to win in those situations many timea before and it never worked out for them so they naturally don't bother.

Im not supporting that mindset but i have felt those hopeless situations. I still push through to try and get as many points as i can before dieing and sometimes even survive, but most just give in to that mindset as those kinds of rounds happen very often in soloque.

On the other hand that vittorio just wanted to throw the round from the start out of arrogance, he probably knew you guys couldve won and sat there anyway to watch you die for some steange reason he expected more than 1 generator done by the time he went down and got mad about it.

I understand the feeling but I never understood the solution these players are trying to archive.

From time to time I gave my opinion to these topics and the self fullfilling prophecy.

Best example: Round starts, someone gets downed, picked up and hook. DC or went next (when this was still possible) Why did he do that? Answer: "Well this Killer would have tunneld me anyway" Like dude common the Killer had no time even to leave your hook and you are saying well I would have been tunneld? You don´t know that.

People dcing against some Killers is another point and sadly the reason why Survivors can´t see the Killer in the Lobby. I once said on this forum, that the lobby dodging would be enormous when Survivors could see the Killer. Often I got the answer "No this wouldn´t be the case" and I really want to belive that. But since going next against "X" is completly tollerated by some people the lobbys would take forever.

And the strangest reason which I will never understand is the blaming of the others.

Not every chase you take can be a 5 gen chase or youtube worthy but thats okay. You got caught off guard? Okay keep going, no one is mad at you. You got a lagspike? It´s okay keep going no one is mad at you and so on. But saying well yeah I went down fast but my mates didn´t complete everything in these 5 seconds well they must be horrible.

What kind of behaviour is that?

  • @CorvidXCVIII said:

Survivor defeatism is a plague on this game and it's really concerning seeing people on the forums who I'd normally consider well versed in the game endorse it.

If you're going to queue for a game, play the game. If you're not going to play the game, go play something else instead of queueing for DbD. I don't know why that's so controversial to say.

The weird thing is, I think we could have won this game when Vittorio just had dced. If the bot gets chased one time we finish the gen, If he doesn´t get chased the bot would try to do a gen.

To be honest what do people do in all the time where they try to just hide or standing in a locker?

It kinda remembers me of the No0b3 Claudette "What did you do?" "Gens u?"

  • Could it be that testing the New Map has splitt the queues again?

Because when I went for the normal game it kinda was instant and the other "to see the new map" took some time

  • I stated once before that I don´t think that BHVR wanted to remove many pallets.

I am afraid that in their spagethi code the pallets got "******"

    Why do I belive this?

Well BHVR increased the pallets lets say by 10. Now you got 20 pallets on the map. The 10 original pallets and 10 ######### filler or corner pallets.

Now BHVR rows back and say okay lets go back and we go for 10 pallets. But now comes the important part. I think now you got 5 original pallets and 5 ######### pallets.

So they tried to revert but messed up big time there.

I just wish i saw more variety

Last point about MMR may be true only based on team mates. (I dunno how to only quote part of a message)

I seem to get better teammates in soloq then I see most people complain about, its rare to see someone just doing nothing and most of my matches people will be useful while you are in chase, and if there is a bad teammate tends to be just one person on the team.

    Fully understandable.

I wish I would see more variety aswell. But from time to time you have to see the other side aswell.

I love to play trapper, I really do nothing is more satisfying to me than hearing the snap of a trap followed by a scream of a survivor.

Sadly in my MMR (I don´t even know how I have gotten so much atleast it feels that way) The Survivors do the following. I place my traps, 3 Survivors do gens, 1 runs close behind me and closes every trap.

One of two things start happening. I ignore the survivor and become completly powerless. I start chasing him as an 115% M1 Killer and get predrop after predrop of every single pallet in the game.

If you belive it or not. You play this game once and your mind is "Okay this can happen" You play this twice and your mind goes "Grrr" You want to go for another game… ah crap i go for something better.

  • @crogers271 said:

Well, there are lots of possible options.

The worst possible idea is buffing other things up to tunnel value. Tunnel is too strong and reward for the level of skill displayed is unbalanced. It would be like dealing with gen rush by giving survivors med kits with three insta heals.

If you don't mind totally eviscerating the feel of the game, you could go for shared hook states.

If you want to just remove it entirely, you could have unhooked survivors be completely intangible until they interacted with anything.

You could make it more difficult by buffing the boosts survivors get off hook. The problem with this is that the S Tier killers could just power through it.

You could make proxy tunneling more difficult, say by hiding when the unhook occurs from the killer.

Or you could make the 3v1 more attractive for survivors. Say a gen speed boost for the other survivors that is dependent upon how many hook states the killer has. You could even throw in some unique hook bonuses to balance it out.

I'd do the last two options which I think would be a substantial improvement to the game. Oh, that's basically just a refined version of the 9.2 PTB.

The problem in my honest opinion is the following.

You will never stop tunneling. If the Killer wants to tunnel you for what ever reason (wants to win, wants pressure, just doesn´t like your name what so ever) The only thing you can do is trying to push this playstyle away by giving the other playstyle which survivors prefer (going for 12 hook) a better perspective.

Thats what I try to do with such posts. Going away from the "Give Killers death penalty if they dare to look at a hooked survivor" to an alternative way where you can say "Yeah this is still winable."

Not a single one in this forum can convince me that in the current state of the game the best Survivor team vs the best killer would be possible to go for a 12 hook game by playing "Friendly"

Thats why I don´t look at the high MMR.

    >but if the same survivor is hooked twice in a row the perk loses 5% regression

    >i didn't nerf pain res at all

you still aren't considering the killer's perspective because in high mmr where people do gens 2-3 gens pop in the first chase you have no choice but to tunnel

It seems that people didn´t understand my point on the top or I wrote it to complicated.

In my version of Pain Res every hook would trigger the perk.

    Example:

    Going for tunnel:

    1st hook 15%

2nd hook on the same survivor 10%

    3rd hook 5%.

    All on the same Survivor.

    Going for different hooks:

    1st hook 15%

    2nd hook 16%

    3rd hook 17%

4th hook is it individual 23% Is it someone you hooked before but not the person you hooked last 18%

If you hook the same person twice it will lose 5% from the percentage you are currently at.

So no, I didn´t nerf pain res at all. You could even say I buffed it cause it activates on all hooks. Just with less regression when you tunnel. If you don´t tunnel you get the standard perk with extra regression.

  • Well the best example for this topic is seeing survivors in 2v8.

I wrote it from time to time that I am buffled that Survivors in 2v8 are going down so fast to a single Killer (not both) Chases last like 10 seconds from full health to downed.

When you play Killer and see many Survivors crouching in plain sight or the biggest part of the "looping" is standing in a pallet than you can say there are many survivors which should try to learn how to loop.

  • @まうっす said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4032895#Comment_4032895

On the Asian server, tunneling is considered a weak tactic. It's easy to counter tunneling. All you have to do is repair a generator while one survivor is under attack. From the perspective of Asian server players, I don't understand why North American server players get so upset about tunneling.

It is kinda the same thing why insidious basement bubba was so successful here.

Bubba gets a down and brings you into basement.

Counterplay: 3 guys slam the gens and leave.

What happend most of the time:

    1. The survivor on basementhook decided to go next and suicided. Giving Bubba an early 3v1 and gifted him the win
    2. One Survivor or even more ran down to the basement unhook get downed repeat till bubba wins.

If all Survivors would have just put their guts together this "Tactic" would have been deemed as horrible and would vanish.

Thats what is happening with tunneling here. If the tunneld survivor tries to loop or just predrop pallets the other 3 can slam the gens.

What happens most of the time:

    1. The Survivor which feels tunneld decided to go next by dcing or standing afk (following the Killer) Giving the Killer an early 3v1 and gifted him the win.
    2. Other Survivors trying to play hero and doing everything to save the Survivor by using pallet stuns, flashlights, tanking hits and do no gens at all.

If all the survivors would slam gens and 1 would die the Survivors would escape with 3 or 2 people most of the time.

  • Because if gens take 5 Minutes per Gen Killers won´t tunnel? Like they didn´t tunnel in erruption era?

My point is simple. Give Killers buffs when they play for hooks. Nerf them if they decide to tunnel because this strategy is still strong on its own.

Yeah maybe the top 5% of high MMR is hit by this, because they "need" to tunnel but all players lower than this can effort to nut tunnel if they get something for this playstyle to not tunnel in return.

    >but if the same survivor is hooked twice in a row the perk loses 5% regression

    >i didn't nerf pain res at all

you still aren't considering the killer's perspective because in high mmr where people do gens 2-3 gens pop in the first chase you have no choice but to tunnel

The perk isn´t nerfed until you as Killer decide to tunnel which gives you natural slowdown. In high MMR when you start to tunnel you won´t get much value out of Pain Res at all. If you go for the same Survivor in high Elo (if you need to or not) won´t give you the hooks from Pain res on the other Survivors at all because they should have finished the gens to that point.

  • @terumisan said:

you need to nerf gen speed or give big buffs to gen regression to lower tunneling your changes are bad btw because you don't understand gens pop fast

I didn´t nerf Pain res at all. The starting point is exactly the same. You get 15% for the first hook as you do now. The difference starts now. If you manage to get someone else you get a bonus regression. If you tunnel you lose that bonus because you gain "the natural slowdown"

  • Well people still bring Med Kits althrough many people claimed they are dead after the self healing nerf.

Someone who was sweaty all his DBD carriere won´t swap instant to a new Killer.

My personal hope is the following.

You are a OTP Nurse main. But from time to time it gets boring. So you pick up something new like Ghostface.

    Now there are two outcomes:

    1. You have a fighting chance and you see you don´t need an S+++ tier killer to win a game
    2. You get completly destoryed, not by your lack of skill but by the game itself telling you "Yeah buddy this killer sucks" and you go back to nurse.

Personally the few times i play Killer i only play the weaker once, since I am unable to do flicks and I am dogshit without a crosshair.

Sweaty people will always play sweaty and maybe you are much higher in your MMR than you think.

  • Just let DS activate on both hook states. It will only hurt someone the second time if they really try to tunnel you.

Like a hot oven. Touch it once you burn yourself and you will think twice before touching it again.

And to be fair… just disable the Skillcheck of DS.

It always felt strange that you bring a perk to protect yourself from tunneling. Then you get tunneld and the game ask you "Do you really deserve this?" It mostly hurts the newer Survivors, which needs the perk the most.

You could say your fat fingering was a "corrupt Intervention" badumm tss~

  • My point is… this game can never be balanced.

    Following.

Imagine a normal survivor, not good not bad needs in a normal game of DBD 15 pallets till the exit gates are powered.

A bad survivor or a new one needs 10 pallets more. A pro survivor needs 5 less.

    Now what do you do?

Keep it at 15? Hell this Game is kinda unfriendly to new players and not such skilled Survivors.

Push it to 25? Hell this Game is pallet breaking city and good survivors are doing 5 gen looping with an ease.

Nerf it to 10? Hell this Game is favoring Killers.

And this is only one example. Lets keep going because I got some time.

This example for 15 pallets is for M1 Killers. Now we got something like Blight or Nurse.

    What do we do?

Give more pallets to counter them? This will most likely kill all M1 Killers

Give the same amount? Now these Killers go for a Rofl stomp on all not cracked survivors.

  • Yeah bring back Almo!!! /s

How good do the testers have to be?

Is a cracked Ghostface the samer tester for a first time Nurse?

I get your point… but this won´t solve a thing.

If you have a team playing and testing things like how many pallets do you need… how much hours should the survivors have?

A good team of 4 survivors won´t need that much pallets vs a Wraith as a bad team would need.

It sounds good but it won´t work or even tip the scale more into new players which makes the game to easy for veterans or into the favor of the veterans which makes the game unplayable for new Survivors.

  • I have a question.

If Killer mains used these polls showed earlier…. why did so few Survivors say it feels better?

I mean do the math… If we have 100.000 players (easy numbers) and over 80% are Killer Mains which screamed about the pallet density than we had around 80.000 Killers and only 20.000 Survivors, which means there are 4 times more Killer mains than Survivors?

  • Do you wanna know what I think what happend?

I think in the Code of DbD they couldn´t turn back without resetting everything that happend till now.

So they didn´t revert to the point before all the Health changes happend but just plain reduced the pallets to a similar number which had been there before. But now there is a problem.

If BHVR added many weak pallets to fill the dead zones, these are counting now to the total pallets on the maps.

So instead of saying 6 jungle Gyms you get 3 gyms and 3 pallets at the edge of the map.

To be fair, the Lara tried going for flashlight saves all the time. She was not on gens.
No need to be this skeptical, but try it out for yourself, playing with tuft of hair really hurts your BP gains.

Yes, you do have a lower TR, assuming that you don't pop T3, which I popped quite a bit. T3 Myers has a default 32 meter radius.
Thing is, I play a lot of hit and run, where I give people who work on gens a bit of false security.

So it was not a normal game of DBD and it was easy because the Survs made heavy mistakes.

Lara had btw a Medkit and no Flashlight. And if a survivor with an Item is searching items in chests at all there is nothing that could help them to be fair.

  • Yeah I think Survivors have the shorter stick now.

But look at this situation in that way. If Killers like Trapper etc get a better winrate their pick rate should increase. Since many players will give them another try when they are finally viable again.

Ofcourse there will be sweaty players spamming Blight, Nurse and so on. But since these games will increase their KR and BHVR is one time "true" to rheir words of balancing with statistics these Killers could get nerfs.

The problem with all the balancing is that they try to pull on different things at the same time.

    What do I mean?

    Example:

You finally made it. The Trapper is at the sweet spot of the KR BHVR wants him to be and Killer and Survivors are happy. All should be good. Not BHVR tries to balance Blight and came to the conclusion "Hey the Survivors need more pallets" Now without touching Trapper he will become a lot worse.

Do survivors need more pallets against Ghoul and Blight? Ofcourse they do.

Do survivors need more pallets against Trapper? Not really.

So now we got a problem. Do we balance the game around Trapper and New Survivors? Or do we try to balance the arms race at the top of the game.

I just want to say this. If BHVR would stay true to their word and balance around KRs. Then you need a weaker Survivor side so that Killers like Blight and Ghoul get changes.

I was playing without slaughtering srike, basically getting no points in the deviousness category

So you are telling me, that you played a M1 Killer with lower Terror Radius. And the Survivors didn´t made a single chase? To be fair you could be right but it is really hard to belive that the Survivors were good. Like common if you didnt just land gen grab after gen grab there is no way, that the Lara got only 6.5k points while getting patched up and unhooked 3 times. You needed to land 6 hits on her, without a big chase.

Maybe you are that good. But this picture doesn´t really show me that the Survivors were any good.

Had an easy time myself after the update.
    No tunnel/camp/slug, 8-hooking before going for sacrifices/kills.

Is this how the games are supposed to be as killer?

So you went for 8 hooks before Sacrifice someone? So you made 12 hooks. Your points show 24k while the Survivors which were not tunneld got 6.5k. So what did the survivor do all game long? If he stood afk and got 2 unhooks he must nearly had this amount of bloodpoints.

I think the survivors didn´t play that round at all or you are telling lies.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 13
