    Play some Civ.

The answer was in reference to killer frustrations.

I didn't know what Civ was hahah. I mean i still don't lol but I guess it's a game lol. Is it by the same creators as DBD?

  • Lmao

And don't get me started on mixed rank SWFs where you aren't even the same color in rank, and letting the higher rank prey on lower rank killers.
    This.
    So much this.
I’ve only just managed to reach Rank 12, but I’ve been sick to death of purple and red rank survivors dodging the matchmaking so they can bully lower rank killers such as myself.
Thank bloody god for the new Mad Grit & Discordance perks!
I don't think this has much to do with that as not nearly enough people are playing this game, so matchmaking is opening up its queues for rank and region to try and nullify the ridiculously long wait times. Waiting 15 minutes for a game is insanity, so I'm kinda happy they're finally opening up the ranks to cut wait times down.
  • I play killer because its so much easier to do well and get alot of points as opposed to survivor. Plus killer wait times are literally instant as opposed to survivors who have to wait anywhere from 5-15 minutes just to get dodged lol.
  • MrMyers said:

The game was made to be a game without communications. Therefore, SWF is considered cheating. If there was a chat / mic system ingame, SWF would be fine.

Its literally the same scenario either way lol.
  • @LegitAdventurer said:
A message to all killers. I never understood why people are afraid to fight any sort of survivors. Are you not a confident killer? Do you think you're bad? I don't get it. I understand killers have almost instantaneous wait times but survivors do not. I can't tell you how annoying it is to wait 10-15 minutes to find a game just to get dodged, sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row.

Stop being afraid of SWF groups, half the time i get dodged I'm only a group of 2 people. Sometimes people join up all at once, regardless of them being in a SWF together or not. Ontop of killers being afraid of specific survivors (???) I still dont understand that stigma. "Ope nope. I can't kill them, they have a claudette on the team. Time to dodge"

So TLDR killers, please stop dodging us. We understand you find games instantly but we do not.
    -sincerely,
survivors and our ridiculous wait times.

The fact that you are pretentious and obnoxious enough to make this post highlights why a killer would want to dodge your group.

"My group" what about when i got dodged 6 times two days ago as a solo queue and I only played 3 games before giving up? Was it because I'm just so darn pretentious? Get real buddy, this game is drowning because everyone is afraid to play the game lol.

I'm obviously not the only one who feels this way. Have I played against toxic teabaggy survivors? Sure. Did it completely ruin the game for me? No. I think people just take things a little too seriously, no?

Edit: also I never said everyone else is wrong. I made this post to bring on discussion. My opinion is not law. It's just an opinion. We don't have to agree to get along.

How long have you been playing?

Ive been playing for the better half of a year. Probably like 10 months? I'm not exactly sure.

    What's your hours?

There is no way to check logged hours on this game lol

So you admit that you are not that good in looping, but then ask yourself this question. If there are higher skilled players than you, why are you able to reach rank 1, the rank that should be reserved to top-notch players?

Thats just one of the many unbalances in DBD.

Also if you cant feel the balance gap between solo and SWF, then I dont know what to say. It should be obvious if you play killer

I do play killer and i rarely ever have issues against any survivors, solo or swf. And if I do it isn't a balance issue its because I tunneled to long and didnt apply pressure, or I swung to early and missed the hit. As I said I'm not the best killer.

And i I'm not terrible on either side but I'm defintely not the best, like I said I can be pretty good on the jukes, but not always. Super good killers can generally mind game me pretty quick. I'm not afraid to admit that haha. And the chase isn't the whole game, rank involves playing your role well. I'm good at safely doing team gens, saving/healing friends, and I'm okay at the loops. Loops aren't the whole side of survivor theres alot more too it

So how is it possible that you reach rank 1?
According to your descritpion you are a fairly new player that is not playing competitive at all or has understand the basics of safe and unsafe pallets

You're making alot of assumptions, i never said i wasn't playing competitively. I'm a good player and I definitely understand the fundamentals of the game, including safe and unsafe pallets. I definitely wouldn't consdier almost 10 months of game time to consider me new. Ive gotten myself to rank 1 almost every season. I'm a good player, just admittedly not the best player.

now imagine what people will say when they remove the ability to play with friends

Nobody would play the game anymore lol playing multiplayer games alone just isnt as fun as with friends
  • It's because nobody is playing this game anymore. They have to open up the rank and region so wide because its taking survivors 20 minutes to find games. So this is going to keep happening as time goes on because this game is rapidly losing a player base because everyone, killer and survivor, are so toxic.

And no i don't mean using THAT perk, teabagging, camping etc. Those are in game mechanics.

I mean they're spamming hate mail after every game, DCing every game, lobby dodging etc. The game is becoming almost unplayable because of the community. This is the only viable solution.

I know. I just wanted to bring in a little funny because both sides are true. Coms aren't some auto win all. They really dont affect the game as much as everyone on the forums like to think they do. It doesn't take "the killers chasing me" to know that the killer isn't chasing me lmao. Coms are really NOT the end game for the killer. They're till the same solo survivors, they just might not be potatoes. Sometimes they're just better players, sometimes they aren't. SWF or solo.
  • i made a forum on this n if u read other peoples answers it tells u everything https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/42089/adept-killers#latest

Awesome. I'll check this out. Thank you!
  • I never play Billy. I legit just played two games (after leveling him to 10 since i haven't done that lol oops) and i played 2 games in a row with just my 3 starter perks (trying to get my Adept trophy) and I got two 4ks in a row lol. I'm purple rank. I think its safe to say that he isn't ruined.
  • Everyone: legion is the worst killer. Wooooow.

    Also everyone:
  • The hero we all need
  • I just got a merciless killer as the wraith without getting a 4k but also did not receive the trophy so idk.
  • As much as id love this theres just no way. I build up two dead hards per chase already by stopping my sprint every so often in chase. I could only imagine if this happened. Survivors already have to much survivability.

I seriously want to keep playing this game, but at rank 11 all I get are groups or partial groups with rank 6 or lower hidden in them. I actually quit my first match in over 200 hrs. This thread and SWF groups will drive me from a game that I want to keep playing. I am so upset right now. The last game I played (the only and only game I ever quit) I was playing low rank Waith and the teabagging and looping and all grouped together started not 30 min into it.

Not even sure why I'm even posting on this threat I don't support any of the OP's opinions

Thats funny. My experience was really similar when I was at that point of the game too. I had never rage quit in anything in my life. Had so many hours in this game before doing it.

Then you level a few ranks outside of the newb ranks even though 11 isn't high. You finally run into a real SWF that know how to play and it hits you how badly they can tear through you if truly prepared. Good thing is you should be able to smoke even them with time. Just wait until you get further in the ranks.....god.

Right? At rank 1 everyone you play is extremely skilled at the game. Its an entirely different game. Even a gang of 4 solos is a tough match.
  • I don't enjoy playing against SWF because I know you hold all the cards to beat me. There is little I can do outside of getting lucky.

Also not interested in playing a lobby with 3-4 toolboxes when I don't have ruin. That is recipe for being very frustrated.

Survivors use toolboxes wether they're SWF or not? So you dodge because of toolboxes, not SWF?
  • I think one of the most obvious counters is playing the clown, down the obsession, drop a bomb or two, pick up the survivor, drink the survivors salty tears.
  • Literally anything can be considered a win in this game. Ive been called a "terrible killer" and that i was "salty that i lost" while getting a 4k lmao. Both sides can just be really salty lol

They also put them in really vulnerable positions. On top of it all, while those flashlight survivors are hugging their tunneled friends, that's time spent doing absolutely nothing. They could be doing gens but instead they're just crouching in the grass waiting for you to slug them.

Explain it to me again please, how do I counter a pallet blind for example?

If flashlights are so weak, why do you wanna use them?

With stridor? you just need to listen and follow the survivor, if the survivor has iron will stridor totally counters it ;)

Games are played for points. If you get alot of points that means you did well in the game. Why are you bringing the English language into it like that somehow changes the fact that this is a game? Lol

For example, as a survivor if i do no gens, save no one, heal no one, hide the whole match and survive, i get no points and basically thats losing the game.

As a killer if you get a 4k. But you end chases really quick, camp till they die and only get one hook a piece, never kick gens, or anything. You'll end with no points and get entity displeased even tho you got a 4k.

Thats losing no matter what way you look at it haha

If you wanna define losing at a role as winning at the game, that's your prerogative.

I'm honestly really confused as to how you disagree with what im saying. If killing and surviving were all that mattered in this game then there wouldn't be hunting, boldness, objective, altruism etc etc points.

It's because this game is so well rounded that its fun. If all you had to do as a survivor was survive no one would look for chases, or do gens, or save anyone.

Same with killers, all of them would camp and tunnel. But there are other ways to get points, because winning isn't just killing or surviving. Its doing well in the game, yano?

Good for you. That still doesn't change the English language (or any language, really), wherein "killer" and "survivor" are not synonyms of "point farmer".

Alternatively i don't have the same issue as killer. If they're teabagging and playing stupid and toxically you just get an easier kill if you dont let the toxicity get to you and force you into mistakes.

I have an issue waiting anywhere from 5-15 minutes as a survivor to get dodged and forced back into the lobby waiting simulator. And then when i do fiinally find a game, the killer dcs the second his ruin breaks, or if survivors finish a gen early. It's disgusting. And survivors are just as bad at the rage quitting. This game is going to die just like evolve did for the same reasons. Everyone is to scared to play the game because its challenging.
  • Lillika said:

Yes it is a realy issue, there needs to be an option to not play against SWF. Maybe give some extra BP if you do?

I got news for ya my guy. SWF is a part of the game. Devs put it in the game.

i can almost guarantee almost every game you and I play has atleast a 2 man SWF. Even if I go into a match as a solo theres still a probability that I'll be paired with a 2 or 3 man SWF. Its a part of the game at the end of the day.

Everyone needs to learn to deal with it. I play against SWF all the time as a Killer. It's still the same game wether they're SWF or they're solos. Its still 4 v 1.

You don't need to get kills to be a good killer.

Inversely, by your own logic, you don't need to survive to be a good survivor, yet you advise gen rushing and surviving ASAP. So either you've redefined what a killer is (note: in the English language, "killer" is not a synonym of "point farmer"), or you just don't want killers to be a threat.

Facts. You don't have to survive as survivor to win. I die as a survivor constantly. I'm actually terrible at avoiding the killer lmao. I also play survivor with that same initiative. That happens to me all the time as killer. I don't care as long as i get my hook and chase points. You don't need to get kills to be a good killer. You just have to get your points. Thats why camping is bad. I patrol gens hard as #########. I don't even really chase survivors for more than 30 seconds at a time. If i dont get a quick down i move on to a gen. Keep the pressure up, get quick hooks and move on. Every time you aren't checking a gen is time you're helping the survivors.

Same with survivors, every second youre not doing a gen is time spent helping the killer. That includes healing, flashlighting, hugging teamates, hugging the hook, hiding in lockers, hiding in bushes, etc.

"Very easy to counter as killer"

    Ok lets unpack this.

    1. They won't use a torch unless the killer is doing something which locks them into a position in which they can't look away, like Pickup animations, breaking a pallet, window vaults etc etc

    2. "They are vulnerable" The optimal blinding distance for the flashlight is not in a killers face it's out of even lunge range but that does not matter because see point 1.

    3. "while those flashlight survivors are hugging their tunneled friends, that's time spent doing absolutely nothing" it only takes 2 people 1 to get downed and 1 to flash, the other 2 will sit running gens as usual.

So on the whole i can't say i agree that flashlights are the worst i actually believe toolboxes are, they only up repair speed and sabotaging hooks is not nearly as useful as it used to be.

    1. ears
    2. ears
    3. one less lonely girl

    also bait the pick up?
    Exactly.
  • I play leather face sometimes, I dont main him by any means. I'll defintely admit he is one of my campier killers. I don't generally like to camp but sometimes with leather face it just makes sense to patrol when you know there are altruistic survivors nearby.
  • I'm sooo tired of the endless Lobby Waiting Simulator. I've currently been waiting 5 minutes for a match, found a game and got dodged, and currently have been waiting 12 more minutes and still haven't found a game. RIP.
