The capabilities of killers affect the experience of survivors. The capabilities of killers haven't changed but now survivors will be exposed to the killers with higher capabilities. Surely you acknowledge this will have an impact?
It could have an impact now that I think about it, but the only killer I could really see this effecting is nurse and maybe huntress. But from the survivors ive seen they seem to do pretty similar to PC against both of them. So IDK.
Plus that's not to say the survivors can't become just as good as PC players against nurse with enough time against them.

I'm not gonna mori with 5 gens running...
If you're moring on death hook, then yea that's fine. Go ahead.
Maybe use them as a safety net, if you're having an easy game, use it on death hook, if your having a hard game, use it earlier.
IDK do anything that makes you less frustrated.

I havnt played dbd in probably 3 weeks at least...i might get a chance to play tonight and may attempt a mori rampage not because i hate survivors but because i'm frustrated with my job. I rarely first hook mori.
I wish i had all the perks unlocked so I could play rancor roulette on pc...
I wouldn't do it personally, despite what people tell you a mori isn't a guaranteed win, it only bumps the chances to about 90% for an average killer and maybe 95% for a good one. Ive had some bad map RNG making the game borderline unwinnable with a mori.
Also, these survivors just want a fair game, and it's kinda ruining their experience. Try to find other ways of stress relief, fall guys is a really fun game right now.

i don't want to say that but.
Console players .........not doing very well as a survivor.
And we can't really blame them.
they used to against to Console killer which nearly unplayable.
Now they need to face the PC killer .
it is like those who used to play very easy mode now playing the normal mode.
Most Console players now act like a new player in game.
but the problem is.
in the history if survivors play badly
DEV would nerf killer to make badly survivors can win.
So it is sad to said that killer might be nerf in the near future.
The last hope for killer is the 20 MIN long que time to survivor.
Let's make sleeping bing bong boy be great again!!
Console player bad. PC player good. /s
Can we just accept that both PC and Console survivors are the same, but killer isn't due to frames and controls.

What kind of noticeable advantage would a killer have if a survivor's screen stutters slightly more than usual? That's like the difference between 100 and 120 ms ping survivors xD
You get much smoother gameplay on the survivors end, making mindgames easier to read, hatchets easier to dodge, etc. While it's not directly correlated to killer, it still is an advantage.
Lets say a killer is turning a corner at a loop with low frames he'll be seen almost lag around it like a passive phasing spirit. As well your movement on low frames feels very clunky as well.
This actually doesn't happen that often on survivor, but if anyone has played on hawkins with low FPS, they'll know exactly what I mean.
Plus, it just feels a bit trash knowing the survivors are on a smooth 60 FPS, while you're on 10.

It's not that console killers have a worse experience now but that pc killers have a better one.
Meh, it goes both ways, console can now come up against stretched res, cheaters, people with better frames and controls, and PC can now come up against people with worse controls and worse frames. Coming from a PS4 player, having a killer play at 10 FPS vs a survivor on about 60 is a huge disadvantage.
Of course you can turn cross play off, but point still applies if cross play is on.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
Haven't really noticed much of a difference as killer. How do you turn off crossplay, tho? I've tried going into settings, but I can't seem to disable it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
You need to be on the main menu where you can select either killer or survivor, and then click options. It should no longer be blurred out.
If you're a PC player though there is literally zero reason to disable cross play, unless you hate console survivors.
-
@Respectfulnancymain said:
I haven't tried it yet but on xbox i can usually 4k everygame without really trying (not a flex, im just a billy and spirit main) will pc survivors actually be a challenge to go against or are they just as easy as console survivors?
In terms of survivor skill ive seen basically the same. A god like console survivor is the same as a god like PC survivor.
For killer however our frames are still horrible, so it's not much PC survivors being good, it's more that they have 100x better frames and better controls, still relatively easy to hit, but that one miss that you would've gotten with good frames can be the difference between a win and a loss.
Not only frames but stretched res exists and from what I discovered in a recent thread of mine a FOV hack exists somehow.

Anna vs caleb who would win? Anna has expirence hunting in the wilderness since she was a child, but on the other hand caleb is a deadly bounty hunter with a rifle of his own invention. Who wins?
Anna is very strong, but Caleb has the brains, he's one of the smartest killers in the game up there with Ghostie.
Slap them in a 1v1 arena, Calebs gonna camp in the most obscure corner of the map, and huntress is gonna look around with no care in the world, and Calebs gonna get a smart shot off from behind. Especially if it's on a western map like saloon.
If its a fist fight tho (or anything related to physical health) huntress has defos won.
(I am totally not biased to slinger in any way shape or form) -

Look, as the community had already decided, stretching your FOV so much that the particle effects dont even register correctly is not against the rules because it doesn't give you an advantage. Also, being able to literally see over and around every loop isn't an advantage. Somehow.
I don't think this is just stretched, ive never seen anyone else that uses stretched have this effect on their screen.

I recently stopped playing Freddy, and have just been doing KYF, since I get all the perks, add-ons, and offerings to mess around with. Also since it fun to chase my terrified friend and listen to his screams.
Ah well in that case clown might not be the best, if you ever consider public matches though always consider getting him.
Deathslinger is probably one of the most terrifying killers even to high tier players. His low TR is just the cherry on top. Though you do need good aim and prediction to be good with him.
If you're going for mainly KYF with your friends then piggy is a good choice IMO, stealth scares and pressure with the RBT is pretty fun.

Unfortunately there is no killer that strikes the centre of "good perks, good and fun ability". Personally Id recommend clown, he's not good by any means, but he is pretty fun and comes with 2 amazing perks.
However if you play a killer reliant on BBQ (like freddy) then Id get LF. BBQ also gives BP so if you don't play many games a day this will help you get efficient BP gains.

I rarely face decent Deathslingers. 90% of them consistently miss their shots and have to spend the majority of the match being a basic M1 killer. If he was so easy to use, why do so many people struggle? And why don’t we see him more often? It’s rare for me to face him on console.
He’s one of my favourite killers to play as because I love FPS and I’m good with my aim. None of my wins are handed to me. I have to earn them.
ya pretty much nailed it. One thing to also point out is that he is horribly inconsistent, a rotation of a simple tile can be the difference between a down and nothing. With slinger you have to live with these and it's what I assume is driving people from not playing him.
-
@Babyyy_Boyy said:
The Deathslinger: while behind a running survivor, he can ADS almost immediately with little to no cooldown zoning the survivor and getting a guaranteed hit because this makes the survivor scared to get shot and is forced to sway the other direction losing distance. Even if the survivor is a good distance away while doing this, he can still get a shot.
The Spirit: as a former spirit main, I never realized how broken she was until playing many matches against her. The funny thing is the whole time I mained her I never used a headset because I never had one and so I relied on my tv speakers to find survivors. With a decent headset, she’s almost unstoppable. Footsteps are crisp and clear, survivors who are injured without Iron will and without Stridor are super easy to track so you’ll definitely down survivors fairly quickly after coming out from your phase. Against advanced spirits or just killers in general who hardly play spirit, you’ll need to come up with some sort of mind game to throw her off.
The Executioner (Pyramid Head): Anothr killer similar to deathslinger as to where PH can use his Rites of Judgement ability which has 0 cooldown to zone the survivors into thinking he will use his ranged ability (AKA punishment of the damned). Not to mention unlike the deathslinger who is 110% speed, PH is 115% speed. So canceling the ability doesn’t cost him anything. The only thing that can cost him time is constantly using punishment of the dammed and missing the attacks as it gives survivors a couple seconds to run to the next tile unless in a dead zone.
The Demogorgon: Yet another killer that uses the ability to zone and bait rather than actually using the ability.
Don’t get me wrong, I love playing the killers listed above because they are actually fun to play as more so than other killers (IMO). But do I think any these killers need a nerf? Absolutely not. In case you’re very new to DBD since the forums are always filled about how spirit should be nerfed, spirit got her rework already and her basekit and perks have been balanced. Old spirit was worse, Prayer Beads + Mother Daughter ring was and instant DC for most players, collision during phasing was an instant giveaway to get a hit or a down, her vaulting animation made her stay still but come out of the vault which made it hard to tell if she was vaulting or phasing. The point is I’ve realized how broken these killers can be when going against them and it can suck the fun out of a lot of matches. If you think they’re not broken and perfectly fine that’s you but I’m sure some people can agree.
The people who say slinger takes no skill are the same type of people who think spirit is just a pair of headphones.
Play slinger, come back when you've 4ked against a good squad and tell me and all the other slinger mains he don't take skill.

I can't play legion at all when the frames are this bad, how do you manage it?
Huh that's weird I usually have good frames with Legion unless I get an indoor map like lerys. I just reset app every 3 games or so and sometimes slap on reduced fog offerings. If I am already in a game with low frames I play safe AF with the 360s in frenzy.
Ive tested the majority of Legion skins and none of them have low frame issues like spirit. The only ones I haven't tested are the bunny skins.

Aim assist doesn’t exist in DBD :O said the Devs, it’s actually ~~Aim dressing~~
Aim dressing has missed me so many survivors and its probably lost me a few games. Hate it especially on Legion.
Anyway, aim dressing wouldn't be that much of an issue if survivors didn't spin in 3 frames and my game goes at 5 FPS.

Did they not? For every complain a killer and survivor have, BHVR offers a solution.
NOED wasn't a Hex Perk, survivors complained and then it was made a Hex.
Self Care was nerfed many times to lower its time to heal and efficiency.
BBQ was nerfed when they allowed to hide Auras inside lockers.
Killers complained about DS so much, and BT, that they introduced Pyramid Head's mechanic to eradicate the use of those perks.
Killers camped, BT was introduced.
Killers camped even more, and Babysitter was also introduced.
Killers tunneled, DS was introduced and BT was buffed along with its change.
It starts with killer's poor playstyles. It's always that 1 jerk camping killer to start the domino effect.
Same with Billy's changes, it took many campers to initiate the need for his change.
Agree with everything except billy, if people wanted to get a 1 shot camper they went to leatherface, not billy. His changes (albeit prevent a bit of camping now) were made for no logical reason except the devs thinking he's too strong when he isn't.
However with LF he was given a tantrum meter when revving, so the survivors complaints about camperfaces were acknowledged.

They use the phrase "too quickly" like it was a game breaking bug LMAO. I used this and while it could help sometimes, it was just like a QOL thing to help you break a pallet faster.
Clearly this "bug" is a much higher priority than the slinger, plague and sound bug. Obviously

Installed, played a few games as slinger, still trash frames.
And because this game loves me so much it gave me Lerys first game on with a fog offering. legit constant 10 FPS at most.
Slinger - who is very frame reliant - is becoming borderline unplayable, and I might legit have to move to a different killer or back to Legion.
It's sad cause I love slinger :(

The issue I see with DH is that there's no way to fix it without completely reworking the perk.

usually the big drop is from the killer perspective, at least that's what I found - but then again, I play mostly killer, so I dunno.
Ive had experiences on high frame maps with my first game on so my frames should of been fresh, and a spirit comes along with certain skins and my frames drop.
Maybe it could be me getting really unlucky or it could be a coincidence, but idk, I doubt that. It happens too consistently.

So apparently I managed to tunnel THREE survivors at the same time just for them to trigger Decisive Strike right at the opened exit gate when I tried to pick them up. Very balanced, really.
Are the devs trying to tell killers to only play with ebony moris now to prevent this kind of abuse? When will this problem finally be addressed?
We all know what DS threads boil down to in the end:
Some people think you should remember recently unhooked survivors and time pick ups (This is fine).
The other people think that it should be toned down because you shouldn't have to time pick ups (This is also fine).
Personally I think the timer should be reduced to 30 seconds, but lasts 2x as long in a chase so that's 60 seconds. Ultimately unless you are getting hardcore tunneled off hook it'll last about 40 - 50 seconds which is a fair time IMO. It should also deactivate under many conditions like endgame, locker, gen, another hook, etc. From my POV I really don't like timing pick ups.

I'm sure majority of PS4 streamers know how awful it is. Showstopper, Crazyredboy, SuperAlf etc all know about it I think.
Looking back through some of showstoppers Vods bring up another interesting point. Some skins (mainly on killer) can drop the frames by a landslide. I'm not going to name exactly which skins as I don't know if that's classed as an exploit, but majority of them are on spirit.

@slunder said:
I noticed quite a lot of complaints about survivor perks in dbd, so I will give my opinion on them. The perks that are hated are, for the most part, exhaustion perks in general, adrenaline, decisive strike and borrowed time.
Exhaustion perks: yes, they are broken. They basically give you a free get out of trouble card when you should have been downed. They basically gain free distance that require 0 skill to use and can change the outcome of a game without any risk. Dead hard, for example, can be used for distance, and before you say "it is rare that it is used for distance and it does not give much", I get to use it that way every 2-3 games (assuming I have it on, which is rare due to me not wanting to use crutch perks).
Adrenaline: Well, the fact is: this perk is not a crutch. First of all, it requires to be alive when it activates, then you have to need it when it activates (because you might not be in a chase, in which case it is not game breaking) and finally, the killer often runs NOED.
Decisive strike: this perk is half good, half bad. Tunnelers deserve to get hit by it, but survivors often use it to be aggressive, which is just a free get out of jail card. Rework it so that the timer stops when the survivor is in a chase or in the dying state, so that the killer cannot tunnel and then slug, but get the timer to be only 15 seconds long, no time to be aggressive.
Borrowed time: well no, this perk is not dumb, if the survivor hooks rush you get into a chase immediately instead of needing to find another one, so the perk making survivors rush each other is fine. Most of the time, it is not used to rush, but to fight tunnelers, which is a good thing. I even think this perk should be base kit.
What are your thoughts?
Crutch perk is something that gives you a second chance, but personally, I only classify it as a crutch if it has a hard counter. So NOED wouldn't be a crutch. Do bones.
Ill list some:
- DS
- Unbreakable
- Soul Guard
- BT in endgame
- Pretty much every exhaustion perk except head on (Dead hard is easily the crutchiest, which is why it's used so much)
- Spine chill
- Spine chill + resilience
There are others, but they have little effect on the match. Technically speaking unrelenting is a second chance, but its effect is so minimal that it may as well not be one.

are you aware that fps on console (PS4, at least) degraded A LOT since 4.1.0 when playing as killer?
Here, I'll post you a video from today on Hawkins, it's basically a slide show every time a survivor is on screen.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489
(if it doesn't open: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489)
as a comparison, here's the same map (different killer, but trust me, it's not the Oni the problem), but from one month ago
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944
(again: direct link is https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944)
The frame rate obviously is still far from optimal, but it's a great deal better than how it is now.
Can you, @Peanits , @Almo or whoever else at least say "yes, we know, expect a fix soon / buy a pc you filthy console peasant"?
As a PS4 player, I can feel this.
You forgot to mention that some killers have noticeably lower frames than others. From what Ive played Demo has the worst frames by far, which would explain why there is barely any demo players.

So I faced a squad of survivor girls in the Hawkin's Lab. I downed and hooked one girl in the stairwell (halfway up). I staid in the general area as the map isn't that large and it was near the end of the game so most of the Gens. were up. Naturally they were going to come my way.
At the end of the game, they asked me why I camped. I said, I didn't, I was honey-potting. You were bait. If I was camping you, i.e. I had decided you were just going to die, I would have stood on the stairwell and stared at you to make a point. I was playing Michael Myers and that is kind of his thing. To me (and perhaps I'm in the minority) a camper has decided "I'M GETTING THIS KILL." If that is the goal, there is no reason to move off at all. If I'm using someone as bait, it behooves me to move far enough off or move about enough to get them to come in.
All that being said, either is perfectly fine. If you want to camp and annoy the player by staring at them with cold, dead eyes until the entity takes them, have at it. You are giving up other potential kills, points, and so on. If you want to use people as bait, and it works for you, do it. It is a perfectly valid tactic. There is NO SUCH THING as a invalid or dirty tactic within the game rules and code. The ONLY way to be a dirty cheat is to hack or try to use latency and/or bandwidth to affect others outside the confines of what is currently allowed by the Developers.
So just call me Campy Grampy if you like, I won't be offended. I prefer you not be salty. I don't complain about Survivor Traits or tactics. But if you simply have to vent, have at it. I won't be offended, just kind of pity you.
It might not seem like it but barely anybody cares if you camp or not. Yea it'd be more fun for the survivors, but you do what you need to do to have the most fun or win.
I camp and tunnel against good squads, and the ones who have a brain realise I have to do it to win because you can't 12 hook everybody.

I feel like a lot of the arguments on this forum can be completely ignored or not happen in the first place if the OP plays both sides, in the red ranks at least.
You should experience what your opposition feels before instantly assuming anything or saying it's too easy for the other side without trying.
A very easy example is the NOED bad DS bad threads, but the truth is the game would be even more unfun without them.
If NOED didn't exist survivors would have no incentive do dull bones = quicker games, there's no reason for me to hold m1 for 14s on something that has 0 effect for me and my teammates in the match.
If DS didn't exist killers would just tunnel the injured survivor off the hook, because why would I hit someone 2 times and apply significantly less pressure off someone in their 1st rather than 2nd hook state.
I encourage everyone here to play both sides and get to red ranks, it'll give you an insight on the POV of some people you discuss on the daily with, and make you avoid making threads that would seem like bait at first glance.
I see your point, but people still make DS/NOED bad threads even when playing both sides as they're controversial perks.
I myself still think DS is heavily overtuned and needs a timer reduction and more conditions applied to it. I play pretty much even as well. Also, a lot of 50/50 players and sometimes even killer mains think NOED needs adjustments, not just survivor mains.
I'm not denying though that these posts exist, ive seen plenty of people call for a highly unneeded DS/NOED nerf, just to discover that they don't play the other side.

So apparently I am not the only one on this. Almost everyone on PS4 and Xbox (Not sure about Switch) seem to have framerate issues after the update. I feel like the devs have definitely proved that they don’t care about console peeps. I would definitely love to see the devs try to play Demogorgon on Lery’s to see how bad the frame rate is. I remember back in December of 2018 it was stated that it would be optimized by then. I am very disappointed honestly as I have supported the game since January of 2018 (Xbox). It seems like they never seem to care what console players have to say.
This.
PC players don't know just how bad it is. It's like putting a hard cap at 15 FPS and at intense moments a solid 5 FPS.
Best advice I give is to restart app every 3ish games and don't play low frame killers like demo.

I know that spirit has been a hotly... debated... (More like 50 players just telling each other to git gud and not actually making any actual points)
Im not gonna make too much of an argument for either side here, but im just gonna describe what i do to escape a spirit.
1) Keep distance if possible. I generally start running away as soon as im sure the spirit is heading toward me. I also just tend to hold W a lot to get to the next window / pallet ASAP
2) If you hear the spirit's TR remain the same volume for more than a second or two, get off the generator and walk away. Then watch your idiot teammate get yoinked off the gen. Then watch your teammate DC.
3)Run through a pallet, then double back through the pallet, then drop the pallet. Then run toward the spirit's husk. The spirit will 90% of the time end up on the wrong side of the pallet and you will be 100 miles away. This works better if you follow the your own trail of scratch marks, so it looks like you just dropped the pallet and stayed at the pallet.
I generally survive much longer than my teammates against a spirit.
My thoughts with it is that:
If Spirit wasn't here, they would be asking for Nurse nerfs.
If Nurse wasn't here, they would be asking for Freddy nerfs.
If Freddy wasn't here, they would be asking for Deathslinger nerfs.
If Deathslinger wasn't here, they would be asking for Doctor nerfs.
Continue until you get to clown.

Change it's activation from when a survivor is within 16m to when a killer is within 20m for at least 9/8/7 seconds.
A killer knows someone is going for the rescue when he sees the timer pause and hence instantly makes his way back so it can backfire a bit, but again not many killers play both sides to even know about this perk.
What do you think?
Camaraderie is an absolute game changer, the only problem is that it only takes effect at the absolute top 0.1% of play.
Personally, I think it's fine where it is and needs no adjustments.

What have they all in common? They give little to no reaction time by faking their ability. Deathslinger can simply fake his shot as often as he wants, Pyramid head leaves you to no joice aswell once he is using his ability. You either drop the pallet and get hit or you dont and get hit anyway. Killers like Huntress might work similar but you have counterplay and you know when she is about to attack.
I am really tired of those concepts devs come up recently.. apparently they dont understand their own game. Its no "skill" when you can sole counter defense of survivors by pressing a button. Its extremly frustrating to guess if and when the attack is coming. And to say the least, it is just a guess, nothing more and nothing less.
Same with Spirit. Versing this killer is a guessing game aswell, which makes her frustrating to verse.
I know this video got posted already, but this topic is still very relevant and he discribes it in a very understandable way.

We get it, you don't like some killers because you can't loop them the traditional way. They have more control and you don't like that.
Spirit is the only one that might be a bit fundamentally broken, but she don't need no nerfs or adjustments.
Deathslinger and PH are fine, and some people find them fun and some unfun. They are NOT broken on a fundamental level. Just because you or somebody doesn't like them doesn't justify nerfs or adjustments. I absolutely hate Michael and Pig, but you don't see me asking for them to be adjusted.

I mean it's more worth the money then Lisa lmao
At least Lisa has new animations and a quite vastly different character model. Oni's comes off as a very rare set, not a legendary.

I just played a game with ghost face on a Coldwind map and got completely gen rushed. Like oh my god there was nothing I could do absolutely zero counterplay. First three gens within the first minute.
And a Survivor has the audacity to tell me I have no map pressure. TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE BUILDS. No map pressure my butt. I had eight stacks of STBFL and was literally downing people as fast as physically possible on this Killer. I even had good add-ons.
Just stop. If you're literally gen rushing own up to it and don't blame the Killer for "no map pressure." Sit down.

Just saying if they come in with loadouts like that I can almost guarantee that the survivor was being sarcastic. They know you can't do anything.

Nice myth. If that were true, why would survivors ever lose? They just need to pump gens and run in a straight line to win, how could they play worse than that?
Well this is assuming that:
- They split up 100% perfectly across the map
- Their pathing to key locations (hooks, gens, etc) is also 100% efficient
- Their spawn location is close to gens and split from other survivors
- When in chase the survivors do not go near other survivors working on gens
- Their pathing in chase is perfect
- They play around killer perks efficiently.
Survivors lose because they haven't reached the level of co-ordination or skill to do this yet.
Maybe a good killer on a good map (like billy on coal tower) wouldn't lose, but if they actually start using pallets and get chases going it's borderline impossible to win.

(sry for clickbait title)
Chases are the problem. it's way to easy to chain together different loops and tiles with pallets on some maps, everyone with some hundred hours of experience can do this. Nearly everyone is running SB, DH or Lithe which adds to it. If the rest of the team is prioritizing gens it's very hard to get into the match as killer. That's why killers with chase and anti-loop powers like Spirit, Deathslinger and PH are so popular and hated by survivors (see all those threads). The missing map pressure (because of slow walking speed) is not that huge of a drawback compared to the faster downing speed.
Of course you should drop chases early but if all survivors are aware and able to run to the nearest loop, it's hard to stop those gens. Add second chance and exhaustion perks to the equation and you have it.
Increasing gen times only makes playing survivor more M1-holding and skillchecking. I don't think that's a good solution.
You could have survivors literally use no pallets and just run in a straight line when hit and they would still get all gens done if they were efficient enough.
Personally I think maps need more work done, but gens are certainly still a problem.

Out of the 3K hours I have in this game I don’t know what else to say other than moris are unfun to go against, most of the killers 1 hook Mori and tunnel, it boosts killers egos through the roof, it either makes a match super short or super long. Not to mention this Subject is probably one of the most complained/most talked about on these forums other than keys and the occasional Decisive Strike.
Moris should stay as long as 4 man SWF teams stay.

I never said they need to have 100% counterplay just enough so chases dont feel 1 sided and oppressive. Having to guess is not a fun experience especially when the guess is in the killers favor heavily. Dropping pallets early can work sometimes but it is boring and uninteractive for both sides. Run from pallet to pallet and insta drop.
You can also bait survivors away from pallets and shoot so fast and feel them in which is pretty easy making that strategy useless alot of the time. Killers can have control over the chase but not so much that it feels unfair. I dont even feel like I got outplayed I feel cheated.
I wouldn't classify someone not having 100% counterplay as oppressive tho, even if the chases are one sided.
I mean, if you want to classify predictions as unfun, then yea that's very opinionated. Personally I'm fine with it. But he definitely has valid and usually very easy to do counterplay on a good map.

That would cool but he also has strong zoning for no reason so that definitely needs a cool down too. If you have words otherwise I can show you a clip of zubat zoning a nea.
Also why is it bothering you that we want to have a chance to survive chases. You seem very irritated that people want deathslinger to have counterplay.
I'm butting in a bit here but killers do not need 100% counterplay. Especially with slinger who trades no map pressure for good chases.
You can have counters, that predicting right, hugging main buildings, and dropping pallets early. But I find it odd that killers need 100% counters so they can be looped for five minutes by good players.
Can a killer not have control over the chase?

That would suggest a memory leak issue. Is dbd on console really that bad?
It is. It really is. The silent hill menu is probably the worst menu we've had. Switching killer? Frames drop to like 5 FPS. This can also happen when clicking through menus like in the shop.

All the counters you list for him are counters for any 110% killer really. Also, you said he needs to proxy camp and tunnel to win against most teams which I think isn't healthy for the game at all.
He doesn't need to play like that, but it's very efficient as with doing that on any killer.

Before I made this post, since last week, I devoted quite a bit of my time to playing deathslinger and I think I've found the problem with him:
Firstly, in a chase, the survivor has no real counter-play if the deathslinger plays perfectly. This leads to the chase being unfun for both sides as it loses any unpredictibilty that would make it fun. I understand when survivors complain about him being 'boring'.
Secondly, he fails to gain any map pressure or snowball easily. Survivors can just power through gens and stealth to try and evade him, and this leads to the game being unfun for the survivors, as the main fun part of the game, chasing, leads to the same result each time. Survivors counter to DS is to just do gens and get out. It is also boring for the DS player as he gets stuck in a cycle of downing a survivor fast, hooking them and then looking for more to do the same thing. Any fun that huntress has with her hatchets isn't there with DS's speargun.
In turn, this leads to a bad experience for both sides as the survivors get downed quickly and the DS gets 'genrushed'. To fix this, he needs some sort of map mobility or snowball potential, while also giving survivor more counterplay.
I hate the people who respond just "no" to a thread.
But literally... No.
He has counterplay, but no 100% counterplay, as no killer should have. Hug main buildings and drop pallets early.
He's subjective for both sides, I personally love versing him and playing him.
Chasing is fun with slinger, so I have no problem downing, hooking, searching etc. It's a fun cycle.
Gen rushing isn't the only thing to do against him, do well in chases and you don't have to devote to gens.
He doesn't need pressure, at all. If he proxy camps and tunnels he can win most teams if he plays with no mistakes (which is borderline impossible).
The absolute only thing he needs right now is a reduced missed shot cooldown to promote going for more shots.
