We already have enough hints to figure out how the new Killer is. This is the exact same thing that happened last year with Ghostface. Look at the teaser, find the meanings to the font/color/textures within it, and you should be able to figure it out.
But the difference between the 4th year and 3rd years teasers is that this year EVERY ######### PERSON is often ignoring teaser itself and looking for outside hints such as random emojis, cat pics, or some other crap.
"It's Candyman!" some say. Even though the teaser's font and background texture have next to nothing to do with him. The colors are also a long stretch with gold being pollen or honey. Honey and pollen does NOT look metallic at all, but the teaser's gold does.
"It's Jason!" others say. ######### off. Even if Jason or F13 wasn't in legal hell at the moment that 100% prevents ANY chance of Jason being in any form of media, how the hell does the teaser relate to Jason? I don't see a single thing pointing towards Jason at all.
"Gotta be Xenomorph!" a few claim. Again, how the ever living hell does the teaser point towards the Xenomorph? Because it is black? What about the font, gold, patterns, or textures?
"Pyramid Head!". I agree that his head fits the 4, but what else? PH himself nor Silent Hill fits anything else of the teaser.
I can't recall anyone who suggested those above ever backing up their claims. They over focus on a single detail and jump on it ignoring everything else. Or simply repeat what someone else said without having anything at all. You do not figure out a puzzle by ignoring it or cramming pieces into places that's only "close enough".
Want to know my opinions after attempting to match the entire teaser?
Gillman fits. Everything. The font of the 4 and why it goes to the bottom. The colors used. The textures of the background. The teaser is damn near screaming The Creature from the Black Lagoon or at least something very close to it.
The teaser itself can be a picture of someone swimming in the dark of night. Their legs below the surface of a black abyss and something waiting deep below for the right moment to drag them down. Never to be seen again.
You know what the “teaser” reminds me of? The skulls in the DbD title logo

Has it every occurred to you that the artwork for the 4th anniversary for DbD is purely decorative and not ment to be taken as a teaser for the killer? They said “Iconic” killer, Its definitely not whatever you believe it is, it will most likely be one of the few you dismissed. But no one knows! They are being very tight lip with this killer besides the fact they will be licensed. The possibility for Jason is there! If you research into the lawsuit he can appear in media but you can not mention certain things from the first F13, I do not know who but I believe the next killer is in fact a part of this list
Pennywise
Jason
Candyman
Alien
and maybe Pinhead but I dount that,
The creature from the black lagoon?? How is that a iconic horror movie that shaped the world of horror? Whoever it is, will be someone most will recognize and know.

That's why I said "most". I know that there are movies that do, but most do not. That's why I hate it when i see kids in horror movies. They try to create drama around the kid getting killed, but you know it's not going to happen, so the drama falls flat.
Now, Stephen King will kill anyone, including kids. You never know what to expect from him.
Micheal Myers would also like to speak with you.

And then honestly? Rework of the traps because they're basically useless
So is Ghostface and wraith? But they are both 32 meter, Myers is the only stealthish killer with a reduce terror radius except in tier 3, everyone else with a reduce or different terror radius has it because either they are ranged (deathslinger(not sure why he has a small TR) huntress(she has 20 hum and 20 TR) or hag because she is just 110? Point is all the other “Stealth” killers all have a 32 meter terror radius still so pig is not alone.

Buckle Up
The recovery progress of dying Survivors can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.
if you are within a radius of 32 meters from a dying survivor, his recovery speed is increased by 15%.
you heal dying survivors 10/15/20% faster.
When you heal a Survivor from the Dying State to Injured, both the healed Survivor and yourself see the Killer's Aura for a duration of 6 seconds.
For the People
You risk life and injury for others.
For the People is only active while injured or healthy.
Press the Active Ability button while healing another Survivor without a Med-kit to instantly heal them from Dying to Injured, or from Injured to Healthy.
the healed survivor's exhaustion timer resets if he has one.
if you heal a survivor while healthy, You become Injured and receive the Broken status effect for 90/75/60 seconds.
IF YOU HEAL A SURVIVOR WHILE injured, YOU BECOME dying AND RECEIVE THE BROKEN STATUS EFFECT FOR 120/105/90 SECONDS.
You can't use the Perk while Broken.
You become the Obsession.
Decreases your chances of being the Obsession at the start of the match.
The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
Abuse protection: If you've been transferred from an Injured State to a Dying State. The Decisive Strike timer expires if you have it and you cannot be healed with first-aid kits.
No.... just no for the “for the people” idea, one it still wouldn’t be useful and two, that is waaaay too much of a description for a single perk, I hate all these complicated and specific perks they have coming out, I prefer much simple one and done perks like enduring or alert, Simple perk gives a simple advantage. Gearhead is a prime example of a stupid amount of unnecessary complications for a single perk.

That would look weird with demogorgon, but devs have been adding alot of new interactions like killer opening gate and breakable walls, but they have been lazy with the animations with these. It would be a breath of fresh air to see some unique animations for each killer, I like that different killers are breaking pallets in their own way, Demo claws them down, oni only smashes when in demon form tho, too many killers have the boring double kick animation. We need more unique animations! And for the love of god please update the original killers mori animations.
-
it wont matter, they will just let the killer down them and hook them again, you can not stop a ragequit player from ragequitting if they want to, they will simply just not play the game, its pointless to just draw it out by forcing them to struggle

Well you just said why camping killers decide your perks. First you are saying they don't and then you say BUT if you hate tunneling/camping then you run DS. So they do force you to bring these perks based on your words. You obviously read nothing of my posts. I may decide not to run these perks but as you said if I hate getting tunneled which I do / what a surprise/ I should run DS .Well I don't want to. I prefer the devs to change the game where campers don't get anything at all. I actually never heard by any of you so far here why camping is such an amazing tactic, how exactly do you enjoy it, what makes it feel so satisfying. All I hear it is viable tactic nothing else. That's because no one really can defend it as fun/healthy playstyle. Also assuming ranks in such manner is just juvenile. I may not be able to guess your rank but your age will do easly so please stop. You wont get far trying to provoke me /Ill just report you/
Getting camped is an every day experience in Europe. If you check the forums regularly you will notice threads about it - very specific threads. But I don't want to start wars so I am not gonna mention anything else about it. But the problem remains and it requires actions
@Deadeye your post are just so situational and based on just what you think is right but still very very situational. You usually see the killer from far you say - Well I really doubt that on a map like Hawkins, or any other indoor map. It is just so situational based on killers/map setup/perks involved. And also as long as you find teliing the camping is a ######### shitshow /aka it sucks/ = I tell you how to play then everything you just said is telling all the survivors how they should play .... It is exactly the same thing you do. I've been taking hits plenty of times just to lure the killer away form a hook but they wont leave so that is a really big false statement there. Actually the SFW are the ones who would all run to the hook instead and try to brute force /not really the way you said it with making noises/. And as I said million times you cant tell solo players how to play and you never will. I just played few games this morning and I had 50% of the time the first hook killing himself right away. I can't control that and you never ever will be able to control it. I want to play the perfect games from your personal guide - "how to dbd" but that is not up to me
Let me rephrase this killers don’t force you to run certain perks, you are the one picking the perks, you may like to have a build that counters a certain playstyle you struggle against but if there is a camping killer no you are not force to run borrowed time. Saying you shouldn’t have to run a perk to stop camping is basically saying you shouldn’t have to run perks to counter killer perks or killer play styles?? This just feels like survivor entitlement. If the killer chooses for whatever reason to camp someone like mindlessly camp, because there is situation where camping when done right is a valid strat. If they mindlessly camp at the start or middle of a game just do gens because that killer will lose. Once again you are also playing at low ranks so of course camping feels strong and stupid because survivors at that rank don’t realize how to handle it. The killer doesn’t force you to run any perk you have the option to run a said perk to help counter a said playstyle, camping doesn’t need to apply a debuff or anything the killer already loses points to chaser for being too close to a hook, I’m done with this argument because honestly every time i see a post complaining about camping I just die a little inside and roll my eyes. Peace.

1/ He lose bullshit. Don't make me make you a video with killer ending with 30k points after camping a person for the full duration of his hook
2/ I don't want camping killers to decide my perks. I paid for this game and I want to play what I want . Who are you to tell me what I want to play ? Exactly you are nobody
3/ Look at 2
4/Good SFW will be able to do that. 4 Solo will do nothing because they don't have coordination. They are not supposed to. Also as the that person said that is just so boring. Do you know what boring means ?
Please don't tell random people how to have fun in the game and say things like "understand the game" when you clearly don't understand the core of gaming which is having fun. That is your problem if you are okay to play like this not his
Don’t want camping killers to choose my perks? They don’t... perks are used to either play a certain playstyle for memes or to counter a certain killer play style. If you hate slugging you run unbreakable or tenacity. If you hate tunneling you run DS. Same goes with camping you run Borrowed time to help save camped survivors. Camping is a viable tactic when used right. Based off what I read you only play at low ranks where camping is most prominent because players like yourself don’t know how to deal with it. Go see red ranks and you will see camping can be stopped by strong survivors the only exceptions are if you are being faces camped by a killer with a insta down like Hillbilly and Leatherface.

After the latest update, hooks stay sabotaged for such a short time that there's not much of a point to sabotage them anymore.
I understand the idea behind the change, you're supposed to sabotage the hook right before the killer hooks someone, to force them to find another hook (instead of abusing 99% finishing hooks like you could do previously).
But even if you do sabotage the hook right in front of the killer, the hook respawns so fast that the killer can just drop the survivor next to the hook, and camp the body until the hook respawns (or even go hit the hook saboteur while waiting). I've seen this happen in a bunch of matches already, which imo makes sabotaging feel pointless.
Does anyone else feel like this about the rework to sabotaging?
You denied a hook and wasted a killers precious time, that is far from pointless

I believe its not going through the back of the head but is simply going up from the back towards the throat it looks fine to me and gruesome
-
@HellDescent said:

I believe he is lifting you up with the bayonet on his gun, and the spear which would be slightly above the bayonet could believably be aimed at their head.

Bbq requires a hook and also requires the slug survivor to be further then 40 meters away, I can say the same for survivors and say run tenacity and crawl towards the direction of the killer to try to avoid being spotted. Bbq is a fine perk where it stands but survivors will find something wrong with any good perk
-
Horrible just horrible idea, 40 meters is for starters is a huge area of not being able to be sacrificed so having a killer have to manage to not be within 40 meters would be terrible on some maps, for example The Game, survivors would be able to stay on hook for so long, also camping is a viable tactic, hmm I wonder what a stealth killer can use their stealth ability for? Maybe ambushing survivors at the hook after a save? Camping is normally a killers last resort when all gens are done, not uncommon for a killer to camp at endgame, I mean they aren’t gonna just walk away to a corner of the map and let the unhook happen.

Absolute win in what way? To see less addons used in the future? I have to disappoint you, people with enough hrs will keep bringing good addons for a long time because the stockedpiled a lot already.
how sure are of that are you? Yea there are the players who put an insane amount of time and have hundreds of some addon also i never said this will lead to no addons in future games, at all. this will cause ppl to think twice before spending some add ons. So its a win :)
-
Im all for it, its perfect, Items should have less and less impact on the overall game. You don’t have to worry about losing the item itself unless death occurs, and if you really care about the add ons then use ace in the hole. Killers where so used to Ruin and then it got overhauled. Survivors deserve a little change as well. I see this as a absolute win.

To be honest, i'm permanent rank 1 survivor Main and this perk is in my opinion absolutely useless unless there is someone who wants to flashlightsave. I would rather buff the perk so the killer can see the aura of screaming survivors for 5 seconds or the survivors get the Status effect exhausted. (Just my option, i got ~5000 survivor games and maybe ~200 killer games).
In general i dont like to See every "noob-survivor" at Red ranks only because the Play very much. Killers in generell should get buffed way more and it should get harder to pip as survivor.
They should Balance their game looking at high skill plays.. otherwise it is not balancing rather than making something overpowered.
Now.. hate me.
OP no, absolutely useless? Definitely not. Have you not seen it on Nurse? BIlly? Oni? The information this perk gives is huge for insta down killers. This perk is a solid strong perk in a good spot, not anywhere near useless. Coming from a “rank 1” Killer but tbh rank really doesn’t give any merit to this, rank means nothing nowadays

I think this is a nice direction, however total removal of the hammer might cause issues, seeing how it is just as important as the saw in leatherfaces lore, I think 16 meter is a tad much, maybe 28 or 24 radius.

All endgame perks are situational. The situation is you're in endgame.
You can only open the gate if the other is closed, so they're not immediately running out the other door.
You can also see their aura inside the gate so even if they don't immediately leave, you know they're there.
And yeah, it's pretty obvious if you're hovering over someone waiting for the timer to hook. You get in a few hits on other survivors, thin the herd and when they're confident they can get out and unhook in front of you, they run straight into a wall.
Either hook early to apply pressure or hook later to secure kills. It's fairly flexible.
I am aware those are the two options of blood warden, but I wasn’t talking about how situational blood warden is, I was regarding to how you claim to deal with 99% the gates was to open the gates hook a survivor and activate blood warden, that is a very situational way to counter 99% the gates, that scenario doesn’t always happen. I understand how you should typical use blood warden to either put on pressure or secure kills but survivors can easily counter blood warden by just 99% the gate, and simply opening the gate yourself isn’t really a helpful option unless there is a dying survivor right next to a gate.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
There's nothing stopping you from opening the gate yourself, then hooking a survivor for Bloodwarden if 99ing is the issue.
Guaranteeing a blocked exit for not opening the gate fast enough would skew those close games into the killers favor every time.
Do you realize how situational that is to be near the gate and a down survivor and a hook? If the killer opens the gate that just screams to the other player he has blood warden, that is not viable in the slightest

Well, how about you start learning how to face a Spirit? She's only a guessing game to people who treat her like any other killer.
"When seen, loop them to oblivion."
She requires pathing to find you, pathing without vaulting and she, of course, cannot jump.
So jukes using vaults are useful against her because she is dependent on noise and predicting *your* movements while she is phasing.
But, if you just wanna say she's just unfair without trying to get better.
Git gud.
Dude... i think this is a bait post and you went for it lol

The grind isn’t that bad with all honesty, you can unlock a teachable perk pretty easy if you set yourself out to do it. I believe the main issue is prestiging needs a better reward for the grind

I wouldn't call it a nerf and only a small majority of players that depend on camping would be upset to the change. It's a re-balance to the game, not a nerf. The game doesn't promote camping and everyone knows it's wrong.
Most generators are outside a 15 meter radius of a hook regardless so killers can still 'proxy camp' if they choose to but they are taking a risk when a survivor is hooked.. You also have to consider bloodlust when engaging in chases which boosts your speed when in long chases and the penalty status effect lacklust only applies when a survivor is hooked.
On a survivors perspective, this would be a very good move on BHVR if added because it allows survivors to have more fun then to deal with toxic killers that depend on hook camping or targeting one's pip.
The game doesn’t promote camping? The wraith is completely invisible when standing still, the perk Insidious exists, there are 0 terror radius killers in this game. Ambushing two survivors (one being injuried as they just got unhook) is very beneficial to the killer. Camping is a tactic in the killers arsenal. The only thing I could consider toxic is face camping, which is literally just standing right against the hooked survivor. I don’t camp a hook all game but if I noticed a team of survivors who rush hook saves..I might not stray far as a 32 meter killer, and if I am a stealth killer you bet I’m gonna be nearby to punish the foolish survivor who thought the hook was safe. It’s quite the statement to claim that everyone knows camping is wrong, I would respectful disagree. Face camping however.. I can agree with that style of camping.

For me when the change of the anti-hem came in I was happy about it, but after seeing the effects I think it should be changed. Im not saying it should be an instant heal for 2 states, but it should be for 1. They can really only be found at higher levels or in prestige blood webs and they are expensive so they should be worth it.
Another idea would be to keep it the way it is but shorten the timer. 16 seconds is way too long and most times it doesn’t even come into effect.
Since it goes away if the survivor is put into the dying state, it should give a benefit instead if put into the dying state. For example a little start on the wiggle bar.
Also the Septic agent is useless at this point, it needs to changed because it is literally useless. I like the concept but I think it should be like the metal of man effect where it completely ignores it because the mend state for 20 seconds often isn’t enough when getting out of a chase and you're put into dying state anyways. Also 8 SECONDS I think it should be at least 10.
Another thought would be to keep it the way it is but not make it deplete the whole medkit on use, change it to take a portion out like 50% or lower than that maybe 25%-40%
I understand why these were changed because I play an equal amount of survivor and killer and I see why they were overpowered, but now its literally not useful at all. I am proposing small changes so they would be a little bit better, but also keep it balanced so that its more survivors
The purple insta heal is far from useless, bt is already one of the strongest perks in the game and you have it in a bottle, you can pull off saves while injuried

While it might seem a good idea in general, there are perks that would make this weird.. such as Infectious Fright.. (and others I can't think of right off the bat)
But then again, you did mention it would make the place more dangerous, so I guess you're right about that. But at the same time, anyone down there wouldn't know when it's safe to leave the basement safely, if the killer's around or not.. Not entirely sure adding something that makes getting basement kills even easier is a good thing.
What about the survivors become oblivious.. eh then again BT would be useless.. making a basement hook way more valuable.. interesting idea tho, maybe just blindness
-
I can get behind a perk that is purely for a mori without any gain, maybe it allows you to mori last survivor but you gain extra bloodpoints for doing so? They have all these awesome mori animations! But I wish I didn’t have to use a offering or try my luck with DH to get them
-
better idea, when he attempts the vault a window he has a longer animation because he trips over it and falls on his face.

First off, the doctor got enjoyable changes but unfortunately I still don't see him as a viable killer as he still suffers from intense looping at a high level and with maybe a second shaved off with the ability to run and shock it still isn't enough to combat looping decently nor to use it as a feint. Perhaps with time these doctor mains will prove me wrong.
Next up the Oni buff, I strongly disagree with this change to his dash flick. I honestly feel like we are going down the same route of Spirit post release from 2018. Lacking stats within the first month and people asking for changes leading to a rush change to a non-reached potential. Which then leads to many months of an extremely potent killer.
He was already strong with his wrath ability which allowed him to lunge forward and use the large hitbox of the club, this is where you can bait out 360s and do a delayed swing if you know it's coming and mix it up with the almost instant charge lunge (hold for a second). He also has the best pallet trade in the game, you can either dash lunge or charge lunge at a player who is about to interact with a pallet, destroy it or hit them during the pull down animation leading to the stunned/hit trade leaving you in an advantageous position in either scenario. You can also mind game using the dash by running into walls then sliding down them and more.
It seems like some of the community are very keen on the meta perk of infectious fright with this killer which in its own right is good but ideally was only like that in the PTB and people are still trying to use it even after the wrath angle axis nerf and we wonder why we are seeing the stats we are. Little have noticed the synergy with sloppy and thanatophobia that can lead with a map full of reb orbs by mid game with the correct gameplan. Honestly seems like people want a billy clone and chucked out all the game planing and strategy out the window without actually thinking about getting the orbs in the first place and using the resource wisely and optimally.
Now with the Ruin nerf. I'm actually happy to see this RNG machine gone, I made a post about this a couple of months ago and wonder if that sparked the thought of change. This will free up a slot for most players and killers will now start being fully creative with their builds. Of course I'm sure win ratio stats will be monitored carefully for the next couple of weeks in terms of match time but I would actually like to see Decisive Strike changed next, simply with a lower active time. We have all seen enough iterations of this perk over the years.
I’d disagree with Oni, they just reverted the too many nerfs he got, he was basically Hillbilly who had to work for his power, only difference was he had much better control while dashing. I believe he is in a much better state, its nice to have a new killer to see at high ranks rather then GF, Freddy and spirit

I think it'd need to be significantly stronger to be an add on tbh.
I agree, stronger then that but could be a interesting add on set, uncommon to very rare, hitting a survivor with shock Therpy slight, moderately, considerably increases static blasts recharge rate, also stacks with each other also forgot to add tremendously

Doesn't help too much with keeping track of how many totems there still are though, and you shouldn't have to use a perk to get information swf survivors get without a perk. The main problem of the balance gap between solo and swf survivors.
It still helps, there are perks that are ment to help solo survivors, example being Kindered, detectives hunch, bond, empathy, etc. perks great for solo, not super useful in a group, and detectives hunch covers a very large area around you so you can usually find the totems, plus if you have a map, the totems get added to the map.

Currently the Static Blast takes 60 seconds to recharge, I don't have any real problem with it as a passive ability but it doesn't seem to synergise with gameplay.
Would it be possible to give this ability the potential to recharge faster after hitting a survivor with shock therapy? Perhaps a speed increase variable for a certain amount of seconds? It just seems that this ability should naturally help fill the static blast imho.
Currently the Static Blast gets 1.667 (3dp) charges per second (100% after 60 seconds). When Shock Therapy hits survivors have a 2.5 second cooldown. In that 2.5 cooldown the Static Blast could get a 250% bonus to charge for those 2.5 seconds. 1.667*2.5= 4.1675 charges per second.
4.1675 *2.5 = 10.41875 charges - Successful hit of shock therapy
1.667* 2.5 = 4.1675 charges - Regular charge over same amount of time.
Essentially every time you hit Shock Therapy you'd be gaining an additional = 6.25125 charges per hit. In practical terms that's just under 4 seconds (6.25125/1.667= 3.75s) of speed boost to Static Blast per hit of Shock Therapy.
This might actually not really be enough to have any noticeable effect but figured it was better to start low before building anything up.
Maybe not base kit, the cooldown seems fair to me... I could see this being a add on however

We just need a totem counter so that solo survivors aren't hurt by the perk more than swf survivors. But with Ruin nerfed now, it would be foolish of the devs to nerf the next strong killer perk as well. First get more killers to be viable, by buffing them and/or reworking maps, and then sometime during that they may be able to look at NOED as well.
Run detectives hunch, boom solo counter, you can easily find all dull totems and hex totems. Only exception is if you are being chased when it goes off.

Just me? If u were in any dbd groups u will se everywhere is exploding by tunelling and camping guys.
People have been calling camper and tunneller, along with killers calling survivors gen rushers and Pallet campers even when none of what was accused never happened, they have been calling each other this for years, it’s just the salty and easily triggered community of DbD

I don't give a fk about the ruin,dude..Just all the killers since the nerf came were tunelling and camping...
Clearly you do if you bring up Otz struggling, what does Otz have to do with you, yourself running into “Tunneling and camping” killers. It sounds like a issue just you are facing mate

Dude, even OTZ is struggling now.. Since the people know there's no old hex ruin, they just commit to the gens and till u just hook somebody,3 gens insta pop..The time of gens should be increased or something like that.. :) "Speak for yourself"he said.. Educate yourself ,bud.
Do you not actually watch Otz? If you did you would know this ruin change hasn’t affected him much at all, he already runs builds with no ruin (also has a video of good killer builds without ruin) with high rate of success. With all honesty Hex Ruin was training wheels that killers never took off, I am a killer main myself and I love hex Ruin for once not being meta. I feel like it opens alot more freedom to change up builds and try new interesting combinations. The game is definitely not ruined without ruin.

will the hex totem mechanic see any changes in the future?
