  • That and a Blight Cosmetic for Wesker. I can imagine he would do that himself just to be "better".

  • The best is if you are in a match and the steam server reboot happens. This kicks you out immediately and gives you a timer.

    Agree with almost everything.

    just FYI

    C) You forget to change/equp a challenge and are already in a queue.

    Solution:

    - Just make it possible to quickly select a quest while we wait.

that’s actually something on the roadmap for this year! It got pushed to early 2023, but is still planned!

maybe it even includes spending BP on other characters/other role? Idk

    I forgot.

And sometimes the Devs present us something and it never comes up again like Early Game Collapse.

  • @GravelordNito99 said:

Actually, if anything, Wesker needs buffs. His counterplay is extremely effective and competent survivors make easy work of him. All you need to do is put any kind of object between you and him and he becomes an m1 killer with some mediocre map traversal. He needs quite a few buffs to be in A/S tier. At current, he's mid-low B-tier at high mmr, and solid A-tier at low-mid mmr.

For example his promised "guaranteed hit after you vault a pallet if the survivor is too close" is barely noticeable. It happened 2 times in maybe 50 or more matches I played with him since 6.2.1.

I even went so far to test it and you really need to stand right at the pallet for that to happen. It doesn't even happen most times if you vault perfectly after the survivor dropped the pallet. The problem is that you are stopped dead if the pallet is still in motion once you reach it. While the survivor can move before that animation finishes. And then it forces you through a 3s cooldown with a pallet break afterwards if you don't have the 2nd token to vault that pallet. And that doesn't get you anything.

You can go right through Wesker after a pallet vault like you can with Legion. But Legion can hit you right after, Wesker can't. If you move only one Pixel after a vault they vault back and you can't do anything because of your cooldown.

Then you can bounce off and miss a grab because some chair leg was a mm in your way.

You can't lunge, you can barely bait DH, you can barely adjust to jukes without the Egg and distance hits are completely based on your and the Survivor's connection and the reaction of that survivor to dodge the hit (wich is similar to Demo).

You can't really fake your power like Demo or even Hillbilly, because even tapping M2 slows you down to turtle speed.

I don't think Wesker needs a lot of buffs, I only think some aspects of his power need to be polished to make him a bit easier to control.

You are right, but I also feel like this is fair due to how incosistent and difficult it is to get to Tier 3. Survivors should focus on outplaying Nemesis' tentacle and not let him in Tier 3, and let failure in that department be very punishing.

If they fix his dumb hitbox I'm fine with that.

I'm talking about the fact that you can move during a tentacle strike and the hitbox moves with you, making it possible to land hits you would not be able to otherwise.

  • @BubbaIsJustVibin said:

This means that if a survivor is vaulting a pallet, or the location of a pallet, the survivor and the tentacle overlap, the pallet breaks and the survivor gets hit.

No. Then you can't do anything as survivor. You can't greed loops vs Nemi, you can't predrop and stuns are unreliable with latency.

Most fun killer for me to play against in years. Fun power that still has counterplay and plenty of interaction from both sides. And the added bonus of occasionally watching a teammate get yeeted out of nowhere.

Definitely beats the hell out of turning my monitor off for half the match (Dredge) or the long list of generic anti-loop killers starting with Deathslinger.

The only anti-loop killer I really enjoy to go against is Pyramid Head. And Pinhead if you count him as one.

The most boring ones for me are Artist and Clown.

I've been playing with anonymous mode and I got a group of 3 men who were...very creepy towards me just because I was playing a woman.

    #########.....

I mean some people make weird jokes sometimes, depending on character choice. I have learned to see them as exactly that: jokes.

But if you are bothered by it, you could just close chat for the time being. You do that by clicking on the speech bubble.

BHVR,give us the bloody option to report them.

That should be an option too.

You could try anonymous mode for now. They won't see that it's you.

But tinkerer is not useless on Freddy, Huntress or Trickster as it still affects them since they have a terror radius. A perk that is almost useless on some means nothing as it isn't useless. Your point is moot. Huntress has many bugs with Tinkerer causing her lullaby to be removed all match, Overcome is not going to counter the speedy recovery of 1 second and you assuming dead zoning isn't the problem because there are maps with very few pallets and you can't be dead zoned by what was never there to begin with. Tinkerer on Freddy isn't almost useless since his lullaby stops gaining intensity at around 15-20m making it difficult to track him anyway and he still has a large terror radius. Tricksters lullaby is his terror radius which does get affected by Tinkerer.

And you are completely missing my point.

I play almost every day since the mid chapter with all the changes. I had to adapt a bit and completely change my build, but I do quite well. Even against killers with STBFL.

One could argue to reduce max tokens to 6 so it stops at 40% CD reduction but nothing else is really needed.

Killers who really benefit from it have hard times anyways or need to hit a range attack afterwards (which you can still juke).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3179925#Comment_3179925

Because they didn't disable DH, they fixed endurances' stacking. And endurances aren't stacking now, you can get two consecutive endurances, you can get endurance while you are in deep wound (and therefore you can press DH button) but you can't get value out of that.

Like you still can eat dull totem but you can't get second stack of inner healing. Dumb example but smth like that.

I got it. Although then I hope they just disable the perk if you are already in deep would to make it less confusing for new folks.

So you are saying it is perfectly fine to not be allowed to make another tile, it is perfectly fine to have several killers benefit from a perk more than other killers. BHVR changed Tinkerer in the past because Huntress and Hillbilly gained instant power use from the perk and changed it so it would affect all killers in an equal way. BHVR changed Blood Favor to work on any injure state when it was only basic attacks so it would work on every killer equally. STBFL in its current state with the Recovery on a successful hit base buff is too powerful on killers that can ignore its negative conditions. Balancing would be to make it lose tokens on any injure state to the obsession just like how Remember me was changed to work on any injure to the obsession. Logically speaking, BHVR not changing this perk now after buffing base kit recovery speeds means they either forgot about it, haven't played their game or just want to be lazy and do nothing about it. Clown can recover fast enough to make the speed burst from the injure meaningless. Even dropping the stack percentage by 1% would balance it out.

    It is perfectly fine.

Perks which inflict exposed are also not usable on all killers with the same effect. TR perks are almost useless on Freddy, Huntress and Trickster, because they have a lullaby you can't affect in any way.

If you have problems reaching the next tile, maybe don't dead zone yourself. Or use Overcome.

  • @hastarkis said:

    Intended.

You can press DH button and get endurance + exhaustion, but second endurance effect won't save you from dying state since you've already in deep wound.

Just like with legion. His ability won't trigger OTR endurance, endurance will still be active after ability hit, but OTR won't save you from down before you mend.

Then I don't understand why they left the promt to DH.

I'm not a DH user, I was just meming around and noticed that you still get the prompt and do the dash.

I strongly urge you to rework this godawful mission, the orange glyph mission from page 4 of the current tome gives the killer some absolutely brutal debuffs.

No he’s too op and annoying. His dash attack makes chases useless since he can catch a lot of distance by pushing one button. His dashes have too much range and hit me through windows even after vaulting through it when he’s not close.

Are you describing Wesker, Demo, Nurse, or Blight....?

All of these killers dash over distances in one way or another.

And post window vault hits are NORMAL if the killer has bad ping (or you yourself for that matter). And bad means everything roughly over 100ms in this case.

I think you have set your mind to your version, that Wesker is OP, ignoring everything around you. How about you learn his counterplay? During the last week I played him basically nonstop. I dealt with his needle hitbox, got from Gold VI to Iri I with him and yes there is counterplay. Even after they fixed him. DH in perfect execution, sudden changes of direction, hugging a broad half height loop etc. Basically everything you do vs a Demo.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I finally did it on Nurse. Barely.

Slinger is also a killer who ignores a lot of stuff. I bet it is easier on Huntress as well.

But believe me, watching Wesker slowly smashing a pallet like he was asleep was something else.

What's funny to me is I did the orange glyph before it was changed. I never personally felt sick or dizzy and I didn't really notice the weird screen effects. However this new version actually made me a feel nauseous. Moving in slow motion basically was very jarring and it seemed to be affecting things it's not supposed to. My abilities seemed to take longer to charge up and use. I don't think I'm gonna bother trying again.

I also did the old Orange Glyph and the only thing that bothered me was the bugged sound effect that didn't go away.

I had also the impression that my blink charge was slower and my fatigue longer.

Actually I remember the counter to old keys now. It was to bring an Ebony Mori and back then you only needed to hook a survivor once to mori them.

One broken overpowered thing had to be used to counter another broken overpowered thing.

Well unless the survivors brought old Styptics and Needles as well which were instaheals back then too.

So many games where the killer got a 1K and the survivors let that survivor die just so they could cheese it out the hatch with a key instead of getting that last gen done.

Or older Franklin's. Just watch the Key dissolve into nothing

  • @darkshadows8326 said:

STBFL is actually ruining the game with how fast a killer can recover with the extra bonus base-kit buff. It needs to be less effective, gain less stacks and/or have stacks removed on health state loss of the obsession.

It isn't broken. STBFL requires a certain playstyle or killer to be truly effective (e.g. Pig, Demo, Slinger, Wesker). You can notice the perk at about 4 tokens (if you have a good idea of cooldown and hits the killer got so far also earlier). If you are the obsession it is your job to get in the Killer's way to waste tokens on you (with a body block or similar). That is not always easy with certain killers who can easily use an M2 on you (Demo or Pig) but it works quite well. Why? Every time the killer hits the obsession with an M1 he loses 2-4 tokens depending on the perk tier.

I don't know why you are complaining about this perk. The killer has to play a certain way to get the full effect and it takes time to build up too (8 non obsession hits to be precise) which means 4 downs normally.

    It's completely fine.

  • @Brokenbones said:

There's a few reasonable explanations I can think of

His power working in short bursts means he can close distance quite quickly, so giving survivors an extra 8m warning helps circumvent this issue.

It may also have something to do with the fact that a fully infected survivor moves 8% slower, so maybe the bigger TR Is also there so fully infected survivors have more of a warning to hide.

If it's neither of those two - it could just be a thematic thing. I know it sounds really stupid to say this but maybe BHVR went "Wesker makes his presence known in the games, let's replicate that feeling by making his TR the biggest in the game by default".

If it would be high mobility in an instant, Nurse would change her TR with her range addons but she doesn't. (This could be worth a shot though IF blink hits are special attacks. No need to run into Coulrophobia+Sloppy or even more Starstruck Nurses)

I guess it s the 8% debuff or a thematic thing.

I noticed that if Wesker is close enough the TR doesn't change anymore which gives him some kind of stealth. You know he's there but not exactly WHERE. Many survivors are just clueless of where you actually are. Usually you can still hear the direction the killer is coming from even if they are quite close. Not with Wesker.

I found myself always on high alert against him because of this. It's not like playing against a killer with distressing because that killer usually doesn't come out of nowhere.

I'm kinda glad he doesn't have a Lullaby because you can't modify that with perks.

  • @Ivansanchez224 said:

He needs a longer cool down time between dashes and nerf the range. He keeps getting me through walls or windows

That you get hit through walls is due to latency. Completely normal. Also happens with Huntress or Nemesis.

He can't easily bait DH if he misses his first dash, can't lunge or curve like Blight and if you misjudge the timing of a dropping pallet you don't vault it.

With his fixed hitbox he's fine now.

There is a Huntress addon and Eruption that do it. And I think Eruption is the reason why it could be nice to know for others since 25s (I think) are quite long when others get impatient.

I actually understand why they don't post it. Lot of games don't like to share it anymore. People get overly stressed if they see the number go down (Loss Aversion) to the point they won't play out of fear of losing it. That's why some games have two pools, ranked and unranked. Both have mmr numbers behind them (Normally), but they only let you see it in the ranked one or see it through a mask (like levels). Since they decoupled the ranks in dbd from the mmr though, there is now no way to know at all your rating compared to someone else.

The fact they don't even have a statistics page makes it harder too. I remember back in the day Starcraft had a win/lose rating which they dropped visibility on because they didn't want people not playing out of fear of ruining their win/loss ratios.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3175878#Comment_3175878

This has always baffled me. I notice it too. At night my survivor teammates become hilariously bad and my killer games are a breeze. I'm not sure what the cause is, there is still tens of thousands of players on which should be sufficient for a fair matchup without long queue time.

My queue times are almost instant. So there have to be enough players.

Maybe they did something with their change a while back and loosened the Matchmaking ranges in the night hours so you don't have long queues. Because before all the MMR tests I had to wait about 5min after 8pm on survivor whereas killer was instant. But the matches were still OKish. Now they are horrible.

I'm just glad that I'm Iri1 on both sides now and can chill a bit.

true. everyone has gotten used to just spin and juke him, but now new strats need to be discovered.

Frame the moment before you got hit when you essentially pivoted around your current location:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7O3TLHTE10MA/image.png

The green is the rough survivor hitbox. The purple is the rough environmental hitbox. The red is the rough survivor collision hitbox. The light blue line is the latency variance. It's going to look a bit weirder because you are in third person and thus you are kind of looking from a angular angle downwards rather than parallel to the ground. (The hitboxes are technically pills, but I can't be bothered to draw that in MSPaint since the default shapes aren't close enough. Just imagine a half circle on the top and bottom.) The reason the survivor hitbox is visually far out of the likely actual hitbox is because rather than moving an actual distance away, you essentially swiveled around the edge of that entrance, meaning the hitbox also follows that turn with you. Add in latency, and it hasn't completely made it past the doorway.

The green lines at the bottom are for showing the "axis" of turning and how the hitbox would have rotated around that axis.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3QX78HWG53UO/explanation.png

The next picture is a top-down view. The black is the section of that wall, the green is showing the top-down "swivel" of the pill hitbox (which is a circle from top-down) around said edge of the wall. The purple is the environmental, the red is the survivor grab box. Orange is where you were on your end. Light blue is latency discrepancy.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4FPFMOUOCO79/explanation-2.png

Don't forget that perks like SB make it often look that you are further away than you are from the killer's pov because of latency. The distance gets larger. Which is also the reason why you can get hit at the beginning of your SB. And Wesker in his dash at that stage is about 14m/s (350%) whereas SB is 6m/s (150%).

    I'm not the OP.....

Nemisis tentacle has its own funny thing going on anyway. I also hardly encounter slingers (though dodging his projectiles generally feels more like trickster rather than huntress; idk if it is but the harpoon's hitbox seems rather small).

And just because Whiskers and Huntress are not the only ones landing extremely questionable hits, due to how hitboxes work, doesn't make it alright/a non-issue. They all need fixing. In some cases it's just more obvious and ridiculous than in others.

ups sry, but it still applies.

And the devs tried to "fix" the hitboxes with huntress back in the day. which made them worse. In German we call this "verschlimmbessert" (lit. "made it worse-better") or "kaputtgefixt" (lit. "broken-repaired"). So they reverted it. And I'm sure they would do something if they could.

Slinger and Trickster projectiles have at least a very slim hitbox vs environment, but their hitbox vs survivors is normal, because else you would have a similar problem like mentioned in one of the posts above.

  • @Ciabe said:

Low survivor MMR is just plain broken since the 6.x patches. Since the big version patch as survivor I have lost 271 games, won 53, with an escape rate of 16%. The more I lose, the worse my teammates get, but killers stay brutally good. Nurses with perfect teleports, blights, plagues, etc (except for last few days which is 100% wesker). I've watched enough streamers to be able to identify competent killers.

As for teammates, we usually finish with 0 gens completed unless i did them myself. The few games I win I have 160+ gen repair points because I had to do 3-4 gens all myself while still unhooking and healing teammates. Rarely I'm matched against a very new/poorly played killer and get the easy win or the killer is just losing on purpose. Lately I'm commonly downed before I can even touch the first generator, thank you Weskers throwing me into a dead zone corner with no protection.

In theory I should be getting easier killers (if not the easiest/newest/weakest), but from what I've been reading there is some mmr floor. Once you reach mmr 1600+ everyone is lumped into a pool together and you mostly can't drop out of that group no matter how much you lose once you reach it. This just isn't fun like this.

Pre 6.x patch I typically had a 50% escape rate as survivor (no, I didn't use any of the perks that were nerfed hard). It feels like they are tuning this game for the top 5-10% of player base and those of us in the bottom 25% get a brutally unbalanced matchup. Yes, I have tried SWF with voice chat and we still are lucky to get a 1-2 man escape at less than 50% rate. Yes, I know survivor pros with 5k+ hours can get out all the time, but I'm only at ~200 hours which should be enough to escape against equally matched killers.

When I play killer I've got a 65% rate of 3+ kills and I know I'm pretty bad at it.

I can tell you that MMR issues are time dependent. When I play in the afternoon/early evening in central Europe, everything is fine most times. But after about 10-11pm you can't play soloq anymore because your teammates just get worse every minute. Killer on the other hand is quite easy during these times, whereas it can be quite hard and sweaty during the evening.

2 Days ago i played Wesker at 1am and got 2 players with maybe 100hrs (I have 5k). And I played Wesker a LOT the past days and was quite successful too.

  • @HexSweetie said:

As the title says, it’s beyond baffling to me how this has not been nerfed. Every single 3 seconds or even less chains spawn like crazy, and they not only slow you down and mess up your inputs but also interrupt whatever you’re doing meaning it will stop your healing/fixing/unhooking/cleansing/blessing/etc. etc. and on top of all, when you go out of your way to solve the puzzle to get rid of it, guess what? the chains still interrupt you (with that one addon), and it will give Cenobite the ability to teleport to you, it’s a lose-lose situation.

This is even more painful when you realize DbD is the type of game that has a “casting time” meaning it will take some seconds to do most actions (mainly unhooking), which chains immediately interrupt, it destroys the flow of the game.

Any nerf to it is entirely welcomed with open arms, this is has to be the most bs and unfun ability to go against for survivors.

Chain hunt is ok, but the chains interrupting the Box solving is something that should be removed.

  • Everyone knows the pain of being in gold or iri, 4 pips, and then a series of unforseen events sends you tumbling down to 1 or even zero pips. As a killer it is pretty hard in the Iri region to pip at all and a good SWF group can easily make you de-pip just by denying you any success. But as survivors its even worse: you could be camped as the first survivor being found in that trial with no chance at all. Or somewhat even more frustrating: earlier this day I had a game with an afk killer. I did my gens, I cleansed a totem, open a chest .. and still de-piped. Well, thanks for that one, no I am back to start.

You speak out of my mind. That's why the last 5 pips to Iri 1 are the hardest.

Its actually a real relieve when I finally hit Iri1 with killer, usually a week before grade reset and I finally can play the game the way I like and not play "balls to the walls" every single time.

For me too. I was on holiday for a week and sweated my butt off to get to Iri 1 on Survivor (I was Gold 3) and for the first in a long time also Iri 1 killer (I want to learn and master Wesker). After that I usually like to do fun builds a lot. Or do stupid stuff.

And now a dirty, little secret at the end: some people have suggested a method that works pretty well if you struggle with pipping up in the Iri grades, and I tried it out for the first time this month. You go for two hook and don't kill anyone, not even the dirty SWF bullies who really try to get under your skin. Let everyone escape scot free, 8 hooks being the max you go for. Do so till you drop in MMR deep enough that you notice that the baby survivors around you are too afraid of you, dont do gens and dont go for saves. When peple start dying on first hook, even though you are at the other side of the map, shift gears, play as sweaty as possible, dont show mercy and just burst through 2 grades in 5 games by getting a mercyless rating every game. Just dont kill them too fast and shoot for 12 hooks.

I don't promote this trick but I can understand why people do it sometimes. My own method is to play killer late in the eveniing or during the night. Survivors are not that sweaty during that time which helps a lot to get pips. You should not play soloq anymore though. That's a nightmare.

  • I would get a headache.

And making the sound directional would be too strong.

  • I don't really mind it. There was also an overlay before but is was the same as Legion's Frenzy.

  • Not on console myself but it would be great.

Everyone is back on Whiskers after the Patch. - And my o my, I haven't star-fished in thin air and around corners so many times. If Whiskers keeps being so common I might make a compilation. It's ridiculous. - Right up there with ping-huntress. At that point it's just gg next.

Can I see your matches vs Huntress, Nemesis or Slinger too? Because I get hit around corners for ages and I don't even have a bad ping.

And getting hit around corners like in these clips you showed is

    a) due to latency (you would also get hit by Huntress or Slinger here and exactly like this)

    b) because (like many people said before) the survivor hitboxes are like pillars

Making his env hitbox any larger would get him stuck everywhere again. Hell, I got stuck on Badham's car mirrors so often it is hilarious.

It's was just latency, don't be dramatic. You would get hit by a hatchet too.

Wanted to say the same thing.

I played Wesker yesterday after the update and the new hitbox was so much better. And no-one was complaining about bs hitboxes.

I created a bug report for it. I swear it had an activation sound before today's patch.

It should have one. Something like a pling sound.

  • My Jeff is P19 right now and already could be P30 if I hadn't put those BP in the new characters. (I was one week on holiday and couldn't play).

I see a lot of P15ish now and some early to mid 20s. And I vsed a toxic Steve with P42 about 2 weeks ago.

He's a 115 killer who has mobility in his kit

He atleast C to B tier with just that

I was on holiday when the chapter came out and started playing him with a 2 day delay. I got with him from Gold VI to almost Iri I in just 5 days. Sure matches are not easy sometimes (especially when you get robbed of hits because of his needle hitbox or other bugs) but I have been quite successful with him.

And I am no killer Main for sure, but Wesker makes me play more killer again.
