It's better than the golden sparkles.
I'm still annoyed it's not a flair for your endgame icon. The way it was announced felt misleading and I don't see the point for a legacy reward that only you yourself can see - after all, you already know your own bragging rights.
I'm a little skeptical of portrait-style rewards because even if you have the whole roster P3ed right now, when new characters continue coming out, it's going to look choppy on your character select.
-
I love the new portraits even if they still have the issue of looking bad if you didn't go full Gotta Catch 'Em All with P3s, and I'll admit I'm the guy celebrating on Dead Hard's grave. I'm relieved they fixed Endurance stacking (even if I think with Dead Hard, only one of those nerfs was necessary.) And I'm happy they're looking at a way to improve the quality of bloodwebs now that you can't infinite P3-50 them. There is some good stuff in there, I just think it also came with a few baffling choices.

Botany is still pretty strong, you can heal others at 50% (botany) + 50% CoH + 100% (we'll make it), almost 200% with only 2 perks if someone bring CoH or 3 if you do it yourself
Botany's better for a healing-other-people build than it was before - I use it with Autodidact, so it works fine for me - and with CoH. But it's worse for self-healing, and that's how a lot of people used it.
-
I usually say good game (feels a little more sincere than GG.) If the other side got trounced, I'll try to find something apologetic to say along with it - I was cringing when your teammate did X, oof @ matchmaking, sorry about my teammates being nasty, sorry about the afk/DC, I have no idea what the hell happened there, etc. If I don't like how the killer played or I can't think of anything friendly to say, I'll just leave.
When I go off on someone in chat, it's usually at my teammates for throwing or trolling. I try not to reply to trolling killers because that's usually what they want, but I'm not perfect.
-
Yeah, honestly. I was fine with the PTB change to Botany, but this is ridiculous. Botany was fine before, it was fine on the PTB, and now it's a weird reverse-old-Self-Care where it's great for healing other people and trash for healing yourself.
This is Calm Spirit all over again, except Botany was a perk that used to actually be decent and now it doesn't work for half of the reasons people brought it. It'll still be fine on my wacky Autodidact build, I guess, but eesh. Cap the max healing speed if medkits are a problem, don't make the perk incompatible with medkits.

The easiest and most obvious answer is to disable killer powers within a certain radius of the hook, like 10 meters or something. Maybe make it so that undetectable is nullified when you're in that radius of the hook too.
It has to be more complicated than that, or survivors will deliberately use hooks as safe zones from the killer's power. There has to be some ability to punish survivors who loop around hooks or who unhook in the killer's face, so a time/proximity element is necessary to ensure you're affecting killers who are staying next to the hook and not the ones who just came back to it, or never had a chance to leave. Like, I can't express just how annoying Artist's restriction on placing birds near a hook is and how many active chases it's messed up for me. Definitely don't want that on all killers. I think that's what most people are afraid of when anti-camping measures are discussed.
In general, though, I think there are only three killers whose camping potential with their powers could use a look at - Bubba foremost, and Hag and Trickster second. The latter two would need to be changed a lot more carefully, if much at all, and everything else is fine - or if it's not fine, the upcoming 5-second BT will fix those issues.

But facecamping hasn’t been removed I don’t understand???
Probably referring to how killers used to be able to literally block unhooks from happening by standing in front of the hooked survivor. Swivel hooks weren't always a thing and survivors couldn't access the prompt if the killer was in the right position.
Bubba can effectively do the same thing, though, so in his case it doesn't really matter.
-
If you run into anyone with dev exclusives, they probably cheated it in and you should keep an eye on them. If they're playing sus, that just turns the 99% into a 100%.
-
@Beatricks said:
I guess the rational is that any nerf to his facecamping ability would be abusable. But I'm genuinely inclined to accept that.
The best solution I could think up is that if Bubba spends too long in the same tile as a hooked survivor while not in a chase (15 seconds?), his chainsaw gets disabled until he leaves the tile or once he's been in a chase for 5 seconds (so it doesn't immediately turn back on in time to rev on any unhooker that comes by while he's camping.) And then it would need some other clause like if the saw was disabled due to inactivity, and Bubba only moved one tile over, re-entering the first tile without being in a chase would immediately disable the saw again, so he can't tile hop to avoid the penalty the same way corner crouchers dodge crows.
So he could still proxy with the saw, and he can chainsaw someone dumb enough to try and unhook while he's chasing them back to the hook/before he has a chance to leave, but if he facecamps, he can only M1.

I would say Hag is great at camping aswell but nobody is playing Hag ever
You can at least unhook people against Hag, is the thing. Like, it'll usually turn into a shitshow if the Hag is any good, and you'll be hook trading unless the whole squad comes down to meat shield you, but it's possible to get people out of her basement without happening to have weird perks like Flashbang or Head On equipped or without the killer actively screwing up.

You say that like it’s a terrible thing? When I played sports and a team handed my ass to me, we didn’t go “okay guys, let’s just remember this for next year.” No, the coach and the team were like, “feel that? That frustrating feeling of losing, of being worse then your opposition, do you hate it? Then, next week, take those frustrations and tackle them head on. Destroy the next team!”
You wanna add a rematch button, I’ll gladly Bubba Facecamp the same teams that destroyed and toyed were th me, until then, yeah, I’ll with a clear concise use the frustrations I gathered and attack some random team with Bubba. Nothing wrong or bad with it~
I mean, your sports analogy involved improving yourself and fighting harder next time, not... I don't know, stealing the ball, sitting on it, and telling the next team they couldn't play because you were sick of losing. Or going and breaking one of the next guys' legs and laughing in their face for two minutes because now they can't play. Presumably you were still playing a fair and even game, just with more hunger to win. In DBD-speak, that probably means switching to a killer you're good at, equipping some strong addons, and going in with the kid gloves off.
Basement Bubba is not that. It sidesteps half the gameplay in DBD and removes all the agency to make decisions on the survivor side. It's way too effective for how easy it is to do, it's fun for precisely nobody who doesn't actively enjoy either getting kills handed to them on a conveyor belt while they AFK or who deliberately farm salt, and it should not be a thing.
Also, taking your frustrations out on randos is bad simply because it's not something you want other people to do to you. Just leads to more misery when you're randomly selected to be the outlet for someone else's totally unrelated seething rage. If you don't like strangers coming up to you and punching you in the face, you shouldn't do the same, you know?
-
It's terrible and really needs a total overhaul. I've never seen a report system as cumbersome and ultimately defunct as Dead By Daylight's. It lacks so many functions that are essential to an in-game report system. Hell, the fact alone that in-game reports have to be supplemented with a secondary report to their website is bogus.
And filling out information isn't enough - if you didn't record the match (or the specific offense) as it was happening, your report is meaningless and will be discarded. And that's fine enough, if still far more demanding than it has any right to be, if it's an ongoing thing like someone blocking you in a corner for an hour or a cheater screaming and flying around the entire map. But for something like a teammate selling you out to the killer, or sandbagging you by dropping pallets/fast vaulting and then leaving - by the time you've pulled up recording software, it's over. Same if you catch a cheater flying under the map or teleporting with an aura reading perk or while hooked/downed, but you don't have the opportunity to witness it again because your aura reading doesn't coincide with their cheating for the rest of the match, and they're smart enough not to cheat while people are watching. Heck, if you get one of those bot killers that immediately Omae Wa Mou Shindeirus the whole team, the match will be over by the time you start your recording.
If DBD had any ability to tell what was going on in its own matches, as it rightly should, this would not be necessary.

Idk but all Hags player I've found while playing as surv, after hooking someone they just place like 10 traps under the hooks until someone eventually dies. It's a shameful killer in my opinion, but hey, if you can 3gen as her that's great
That just shows you haven't really gone against any good Hags. Which is understandable, because she's rare to face, but she and Trapper were made for territorial play. She can trap each gen in a 3-gen and turn every nearby loop into a GG, so even if survivors crouch at gens, they'll still get hit when she comes around manually. If you're not on comms, facing against this is rough.
Your list also undervalues Doctor (the OG hold-a-3-gen-for-30-minutes character), Artist, Twins (you do realize an idle Victor alerts when anyone gets near him and you can switch before he gets kicked, right?), Huntress, and Plague. Even Dredge deserves some recognition for quick return to the 3-gen zone, killer instinct on nearby hiding survivors, and being able to check all 3 gens in succession with his teleport. Meanwhile, I don't think Myers is nearly as good at 3-genning as you say he is - not unless he's running infinite T3, anyway. People will just hide and wait out his T3 otherwise.
And while one-shotting is great, high speed isn't nearly as necessary to play a 3-gen well, because you're already looking at a small area and even slower killers can manage covering it. Sure, high speed is great to quickly return to the zone, but information powers, long-distance damage, and being able to set traps are all points of strength here too.
-
I never had issues with Hawkins (well, beyond the typical complaint that several killer powers don't really work in indoor maps), and I miss the drop-down and all the stealthy antics it enabled, but it would have been a very annoying boon map.
-
That sounds really annoying. I'm averse to these kinds of suggestions because I feel they don't make solo queue any easier to play (unless the issue in question is just specifically bad map design and areas the killer can't hook anyone if the survivor plays it right, which would not be good), but they give SWFs more tools to work with and make stuff like Boil Over/Oak/Sabo even more miserable than it already is.
And when it does come to stuff like doorways you can steer the killer into or ledges you can drive them off of... when the killer picks you up, they are meant to get you to a hook. The wiggle mechanic is there to allow for team play and to prevent the killer from being able to take you to the basement every time. You're not really meant to have tools to get off on your own.
Also, yeah, this disproportionately affects console players because their movement speed is less than 100% when trying to compensate for wiggle direction, when PC can navigate at 100% at all times.
-
Yeah, this is my least favorite survivor daily. Even when I'm alive and not hooked at that point... I hate being pressured to open the gates and start the EGC early because the odds of me dying for the save, or someone else opening the gate while I'm off rescuing or bodyblocking, are too high.
Like the OP says, too many variables. It almost always encourages bad play when I actually go through with it instead of rerolling.
-
While I'm unhappy with the prestige reward and wouldn't say no to legacy at all... I'm pretty sure legacy cosmetics will never be on the table because they'd have to try and negotiate with every license to get them on licensed characters. And Freddy/Demo/Quentin/Steve/Nancy are just flat-out never happening, so the whole thing is scuttled. You can't give a P3 reward and then exclude a few characters when it's probable that some players out there only have those characters P3ed.

I think the devs thinking on this is healing overall is fairly fast, so buffing a perk that incentives healing more is fine.
Seeing as they don't seem to want to make anymore healing changes outside of self-heal situations, imo, I think they're going with the direction in which teams will be more dependent on each other to heal rather than self healing (outside of COH). They want that kind of healing to come with a heavier cost. I like this idea, as self healing shouldn't just be a free and easy loss of pressure for the killer, it should come at the expense of gen progress or resources (like items).
They also are fine with you being punished for choosing not to heal (in a healthy way that helps m1 killers and not just legion or plague) but it's in the form of a perk so it's really not that oppressive considering a killer has to use a resource to alot the perk.
The problem is that the killers who actually need that help aren't going to use Thanatophobia because they can't reliably get value out of it. It's too dependent on how survivors choose to behave, and most killers don't have a strong enough 1v4 that having several survivors injured at once is something they can ensure. Like, Wraith likes having injured survivors and is good at landing the first hit, but trying to do hit and run in the CoH era results in a lot of chases and very few downs because everyone runs off to self-heal as soon as you drop aggro. (Which incidentally makes nerfing Self-Care pointless, when CoH is still miles better than it anyway.) I'm not saying those killers can't get everyone injured, but by that point, they're usually already winning the match and Thana is an afterthought, not something they used to propel themselves to victory.
I don't really see anyone spending a perk slot on Thana now that they wouldn't before - it's still Legion, Plague, and the occasional stacked slowdown build with Penti and/or Dying Light. People might mix it up with the new Gift of Pain for a bit to see if that's any good? But it's generally going to be same-old-same-old. It's just that Thana is now more annoying than it was before, which was already pretty annoying.
-
Well, the upcoming change actually will fix your issue by making it so that you have those perks unlocked automatically once you get the prestiges out of the way. The bloodweb is more likely to give you levels of perks you already have than new ones - you start seeing tier 2 at level 7, and while you'll rarely see a tier 3 at level 10, you mostly start to see those at 35ish.
Many perks are still pretty usable in tier 1/2, though. Like, Ruin (goodnight, sweet prince) is terrible at lower tiers because it's 100/150/200%, but Starstruck is fine because it's 26/28/30s and Devour Hope straight-up doesn't matter. I wouldn't immediately write off perks for not being tier 3.
But I totally agree that the amount of bloodpoints you get outside of bloodpoint events is pitiful. And the loss of BBQ/WGLF is about to make that feel even worse. There's so much clutter in the bloodweb and that's arguably about to get even worse.
-
Didn't play this PTB. At first I refused because there were still flans to get, and then it was just burnout.
Mostly, I don't get why they buffed Thana when increased gen speeds was already a buff to Thana.
-
I'd rather get rid of the specific-killer MMR and go back to being able to switch in the lobby. There are many lobbies where the killer you've got lined up is specifically screwed against survivor items (flashlights versus Hag, maps versus Trapper, medkits versus Twins), or more importantly, when you're just messing around with a killer you don't normally play for a daily or experimentation and you get a loaded SWF. Plus I always want to oblige when I see survivor names like Trickster's Wife or Mori Me Pyramid Head.
Like, I liked the idea of individual killer MMR, but the allowed variance in the MMR isn't great enough to accurately match up with your proficiency in my experience. It's 200 either way from a center rating, right? My MMR's still pretty off from all the friendly games I did during the event, but right now I'm at a point where I can stomp when I play Plague or Artist, but if I play Nurse or Slinger, I'll get wrecked. So killer-specific MMR isn't doing me any good and I'm mostly just waiting for custom match bots for the killers I want to learn.

Then you're a biased killer main too. Have some self awareness. Deathslinger as fine as is, he doesn't need to be made stronger in chase when he's already near unloopable if the person playing him has ever played an FPS before cause of the amount of tiny holes on tiles.
If that was actually the case, you'd see Deathslinger more than once in a blue moon. And I don't know about your games, but in mine, the Deathslingers usually don't do that great.
He feels awful to play and he's a downgrade to Huntress in every way that matters, so there's precious little reason to pick him. He was overnerfed and needs help. ADS probably shouldn't be what it was before, but his TR and his turn rate are both horrible.

As a killer I'd say this the only map where survivors can actually use sabo to actually prevent a hook, every other map has hooks every ten meters.
Nah. RPD and sometimes Lery's have areas where you can only reach one hook from your current location, especially once you commit to a direction.
But Midwich is the only one where sometimes you'll pick up a survivor and there is no hook in reach, even before sabotage or death hooks come into play. The algorithm is atrocious when it comes to judging vertical distance. Even the center area causes issues because it thinks everything's a-OK if there's hooks on the other side of the wall, so the courtyard or the adjacent halls sometimes end up bereft while the other area has them in abundance. When it's the north or south hallway and there's no connection to the courtyard... yeah.

If the person was afk for more than 5 minutes straight during the match then count it as a DC. Someone who was active but bled out wouldn’t be impacted by that since the bleed out is at most 4 minutes. And someone who is being abused by a bodyblocker for five minutes can I think report the bodyblocking player for harassment.
Reporting isn't going to stop them from getting the penalty, though. Hostage-taking is bad enough when you can't use it to grief someone into their next game.
This isn't a bad idea on the whole, but it definitely would need some fine-tuning so that it doesn't hit players for the wrong reasons, and I'm not sure pinpoint accuracy is even possible here. I also don't like the idea of linking it to crows when killers who spend the entire match AFK are just as undesirable and should be flagged as well.

That's not bodyblocking, that's facecamping. And BMing - guy was tilted you took out his hex, you see that sometimes where the killer decides you need to suffer for cleansing their Ruin/Devour/NOED before they get to use it - but as stupid as it is, it's not against the rules, and it is possible for a teammate to rescue you. Bodyblocking is trapping you in a corner where you can neither escape nor die.

The perk notification is meant for it to have the same effect against SWF and Solo, remove the notification and all that happens is Solo's suffer
Even if this were the case, the SWF would first have to lose a pallet to Dissolution and the killer would actually get some value out of the perk.
As it is, Dissolution barely works because survivors are forewarned not to do the thing it does anything about.

Same could be said for Starstruck
Starstruck still does something to you whether you like it or not. You can try to hide or run away, but you'll still get Exposed and the killer can potentially work with that.
-
The only thing better about the old animations were that the survivors had more of an aura of fear about their actions than they do now. Otherwise, they were way jankier and there's zero reason to downgrade back to them.
-
@PNgamer said:
The changes must be. Otherwise you will not get the meta messed up
Not necessarily? You don't have to butcher a perk into the ground, you just have to make it so that there are other perks that are just as good or slightly better at what they do. Iron Will usage would have plummeted if you took it from 100% to 75% without the Exhaustion deal. Same with Ruin and 200% to 100% without making it kill itself if you get too much value out of it.
Perks like Pain Resonance and Tinkerer got nerfs that weakened their dominant combos and will make many of their users consider alternatives, but the nerfs didn't kill them as perks people can and will actually use. When you look at Self-Care or Spine Chill now, they're F-tier perks that will rarely be picked. Totally unwanted perks are almost as bad for perk variety as meta perks are.
-
Ah, a happy ending.
Trying to go down in high places with Boil Over isn't abuse, but when you see map offerings and survivors straight-up camping a spot instead of giving any pretense at a chase - at that point, I would call it abuse. There's no game interactivity in always running to a certain spot and being unable to be hooked, and it's pretty exploitative. When I see my teammates doing that, I won't sandbag them, but I won't help them either (unless the killer 'started it' in the eternal war of players being dicks.)
Luckily, I think Eyrie, Garden of Joy, and sometimes RPD are the only places it works anymore, thanks to the 33%-current-progress necessitating a long walk before the drop rather than just any high area that was far away from stairs.
-
...What? I thought it was universally agreed upon that PC players have a freer range of movement and more ease controlling ranged killers. I genuinely do not understand what you're getting at here.
Console players who avoid PC players are trying to dodge cheaters, half the time.
-
I was wondering that too. While it's unnoticeable with the current 0-3 system, 0-100 would be a different story. It could potentially change the problem (albeit in a very backloaded and unoptimal way) that bloodwebs on the whole contain more brown-yellow clutter now.

it's a joke even the worst killer players deserve free kills if they can hold W and left click apparently, then people complain about survivors holding W
If you have to bloodlust everyone to get downs, you're only getting a kill if a.) survivors don't know what gens are or b.) you're Bubba.
Bloodlust takes so much time to activate that you've pretty much lost the chase anyway, even when you do get the hit. It's a patch mechanic for unbalanced loops and window chains. NOED was far more of a "free kills for bad killers" mechanic than bloodlust ever was, and that one did get a nerf this go-around.
-
I'm replacing BT for Off the Record. Might swap We'll Make It for Botany Knowledge? And any survivor that was running Iron Will (mostly the noisy ones, or anyone with a locker build) has to find something new, but that'll be on a case-by-case basis. I don't have a single set build for my survivors; I switch survivors when I feel like playing a different playstyle.
-
I'm kind of torn on this one. I've seen situations where it was impossible for a survivor to self-mend due to the Doctor bonking them off hook and interrupting a Snap Out Of It (not even necessarily by punishing one taken mid-chase, Static Blast will do it too.) It's a weird little interaction.
On the other hand, you can usually survive by finding a teammate to mend you - that's just usually a nasty diversion if you're not in a SWF.
-
Being limited to one pick isn't nearly as bad as some other similar suggestions I've seen made, but seriously, the matchmaking system we have can't give us a decent match with equally skilled teammates and opponents before you factor in everybody's block list (a solid half of which would be Nurse) and what killers any given lobby is allowed to accept.
Like, okay, you can only block one killer. But a SWF can effectively coordinate a list of who they don't want to see, so for a 4-man, it's not just a no-Nurse lobby, it's a No Nurse, No Blight, No Huntress, and No Artist Allowed room. For example.
Nurse, Blight, and Bubba would all take ages to get matches. Then you have other killers that people hate versing but who are less common sights in the wild - Legion, Hag, Twins, Plague, Pinhead, Trickster, etc. They wouldn't normally be many people's blocked killer, but when they get featured in a tome and everyone starts picking them? Suddenly, people trying to do challenges are practically in their own bloated queue.
Better not to give people that power. If there are issues that people have going against specific killers, they should be addressed with balance updates, accessibility options, or sometimes just a healthy dose of copium.
-
I'm neutral about it. Won't affect my autodidact build, and makes it easier as a thoughtless perk to throw on any build for free value, but it does lessen the options we had for healing builds. You only consider perks that are the best at what they do, and while new Botany's good, there's nothing that really does what old Botany did anymore. Built To Last, perhaps, but that has other drawbacks.
-
That heart-stopping moment when you start to pick up a survivor and you hear footsteps--
-
I like that idea, though again, I think the issue is that you're rarely stopping to break things when you're in Frenzy, and activating Frenzy in downtime to save time on actions doesn't work because you lose time again when the fatigue hits. Maybe if kicking a pallet, gen, or wall refilled your Frenzy gauge by half or to whole (so you could stop and break a pallet to extend Frenzy?) But that might be busted with Never-Sleep Pills.
But I do wish Frank and Susie's mixtapes were better. I run them anyway because sweet tunes go brrrr, but yeah, for a purple, Frank's tape is pretty lame.
-
I'm really hoping we can get a trans character next. Or maybe NB/genderfluid. I see a lot more gay representation out there than I did ten years ago (lesbian secondary, unfortunately, but it's still fairly emergent), but while sexualities are getting more comfortable in the mainstream, gender... really isn't. At least, it's nowhere near as far along. Mainstream trans rep in particular is virtually nowhere to be found. I can't overstate enough just how impactful the sheer normalizing power of representation in media is. Exposure passively gets people more comfortable with concepts they don't understand to the point where they stop recognizing them as divergent or 'other.'
Also, when Ace Claudette got brought up, I had to do a double take because that headcanon is so firmly entrenched that I forgot it wasn't actual canon. Look, I read one really amazing DBD fanfic and it got duct-taped to the inside of my head, okay. But seriously, yes - as another ace woman, it fits Claudette to a T.
-
That Artist skin is amazing, holy crap. I need it immediately. It could easily be the best one she has.
Yui... eh. It's good, but all I can think of is "great, another black and pink outfit for Yui." My issue with Yui's cosmetics is that they tend to be super samey and this one unfortunately isn't breaking the mold for me, even if it does look very nice and I'd use it.
Both charms are pretty great and I can see myself using them.

I promise you if you keep trying the stars will align for you. You just need the right map and survivors who make some bad decisions. Spread your attention and damage and you really only have to kill 3 of them as you can get merciless even if the last one gets the hatch.
I'm pretty sure that in red ranks, as killer, you need a perfect score - so the last survivor can't get hatch and you need the 9-hook-plus 4k.
It's very stupid how the emblem system interacts with your current rank, but I don't think they can change how an achievement works unless the requirements are literally impossible.

I think it would be amazing for BHVR to release statistics on the #unique survivors hooked per game, as a means to actually measure BBQs efficacy, I suspect it will be lower than most people claim.
As long as it's stratified by MMR, sure. Extreme low and extreme high is probably much lower than middling MMR.
Though it's also going to be thrown off by players who make no attempt to hook everyone (i.e., facecamping, revenge tunneling, afking, challenge farming), so I'd take it with a grain of salt regardless. A person who runs BBQ for the bloodpoints is going to have a different playing pattern than someone running, say, an endgame build.

Uh... they can.
Survivors can camp a pallet, or camp for a save.
I assume by "camp with flashlight" meant a survivor just sitting there or hovering around for a flashlight save, sometimes despite being seen already.
Yeah, that was my thought. When I hear 'camp with flashlight', I assume one of those annoying survivors that follows the chased survivor around instead of doing gens and then immediately gets found out because the killer heard someone tromping around after them for most of the chase.

Most killers I've encountered have stopped to let me do glyphs. I try to pay it forward when I can.
The only exception is if they want to do a white glyph mid-chase, because that's asking me not to down them afterwards. But if I see someone doing a white glyph or carrying a mirror before I latch onto them, I'll follow them to the basement.

A lot of it is simply poor logic. As evidenced by the first response you got there are still people who think those two perks equal 100% more BP, when in reality it obviously isn't.
Well. BBQ typically meant 100% more BP unless you got wrecked, someone was hardcore stealthing, or you chose not to spread hooks. I would say I get 4 stacks in 90% of my games. I think you're underestimating how consistent BBQ is. WGLF, not so much.
But yeah, as others have said, they didn't reduce the grind enough for removing those perks to produce a net positive. I didn't really struggle with perks that much, so while this is helpful to me on new chapters, it's also making addons and items more of a nuisance and I don't like that at all.
I like that I don't feel glued to a particular perk anymore, but I was hoping they'd make the bloodpoint bonuses basekit, and I'd rather have them in perk form than not at all.

It's incredible. They did a fantastic job combining Silent Hill with DBD; the collaborative efforts with SH's composer really paid off. I can listen to his menu music all day, and he's got one of the best chase themes in the game. Plus that terror radius is just brimming with an eerie kind of menace.

Absolutely beautiful, fantastic example of what I am talking about.
You are right, I did mispresent you, I apologise. For some reason I had this insane idea that killers are not inherently entitled and gave you the benefit of the doubt and didn't accuse you of saying ridiculous like anything a survivor does is unfair but killers can do no wrong and everything if fair because the devs said so. My own fault for treating you like a person and not generalising you into a stereotype, that was my fault and you have greatly embarrassed me.
But seriously your entitlement is astounding. Its amazing how people on the forum will rush to the defence of camping/ tunnelling, slugging. There is always an excuse.
I'm not camping I'm patrolling
I'm not tunnelling, their team didn't body block
slugging is fine because I'm just applying pressure cause the gens are going to fast
Its end game
Then you just get the more toxic excuses
Camping at 5 gens is a legitimate strategy cause the devs said it is
There is nothing wrong with infectious fright slugging nurse
Killer is hard which is why I focus one survivor out of the game then I play properly
Its not my job to ensure everybody is having fun
All of it is the same. you're just coming up with excuses to justify your toxic behaviour. I mean look at what you are saying???
"tunnelling is highly subjective. " It really isn't. Some matches people have bad luck and it happens. But we're talking about hard focusing survivors out of the match. Would it have really been to hard to make basekit BT at least 15 seconds? "Oh well survivors will use it to body block." Well I'm going apply the killer logic, used to justify the buffs with new update. "Now that killer is stronger and matches take longer, killers won't abuse this because it just made camping even more viable then it was, because killers have integrity." Well that's my justification for buffing survivors.
Then you defend slugging? Slugging is a legitimate strategy. Dragging a match out, slowing it down to a crawl or not even engaging in the actual objective of killer "getting hooks." but survivors coordinating to save a teammate isn't? What you pick and choose is astonishing. You are just as much a part of the poor sportsmanship you refer to. you are just not as bad as the worse. Its the equivalent of tripping somebody in soccer and then saying "It's fine cause it only kind of bad, I don't elbow people in the face." No, you are a toxic person, where you sit on the toxic, entitled player ladder irrelevant.
But I could forgive all of this, if you didn't say this. " Facecamping at 5 gens is most certainly an extreme example and definitely bad sportsmanship, but you can't penalise it without also penalising the legit strategies above." You can't even call out the worst aspect of the entire game, and say "OK, yes this awful, and massive game changes need to be fix it." Your first response to defend it? The first thing you think when somebody stands in front a hook for 5 minutes is, "This needs to exits, because proxy camping needs to exist." The worst aspect of DBD needs to exist, because otherwise the second worst aspect of DBD would be weaker, amazing logic.
The more I read the more broken you logic is.
"All of these things are legit strategies, except when they're used by a killer in an already dominant position, to bully survivors who are clearly already being outplayed."
Who the F... gets to determine that? I feel like I'm no I'm no longer in the dominant position so I get to use these cheap miserable strategies. Even more astonishing in this post you call tunnelling "Subjective." But now you have ability to determine a match outcome with complete accuracy to justify how toxic you get to be this match. Oh I'm sure you would never abuse that.
Here is the issue, with you and every entitled killer in DBD. This is modern killer logic.
"Killer's want survivors to play in extremely strict ways, and never deviate from this, so they can predict and apply counters. But they don't want it to be effective because otherwise the killer feels bullied."
I hate to be blunt, but I could not care less about somebody "feeling bullied." Its extremally easy and unproductive to "feel bullied." Body blocking is not bullying, doing your objective is not "bullying." Camping isn't even bullying. DBD is has 18+ ratting. You need to be 18 years or older to play this game. If you are younger then 18 and you feel "bullied." Maybe that has do with the fact you are a kid, who should not even be playing this game. You clearly do not have the emotional maturity to engage in this game and its best for you mental development to put DBD on hold until you mature a little. If you are over 18 and you are being "bullied," in an online game cause they did gens really fast or because they blocked the hook. Or even if they camped. "I have never felt bullied because a killer camped me." Its frustrating, boring, but not bullying. But if you seriously feel this way, you have much bigger issues then the balance of DBD.
Goddamn, man, you jumped to ad hominems real fast.
I don't have the patience to sift through this entire mass when about half of it is passive-aggression and making up your own bad arguments that you can attack instead of actually addressing what was said. I'm just going to hit one or two points. You attacked the other person for saying facecamping isn't an issue that can be fixed without damaging killer agency. In your eyes, this is defending and making excuses for it and you apparently missed the part they said it was bad sportsmanship, ergo they do not support it at all. Like, even in the original post you decided to get mad at @Seraphor for, they talked about several things survivors rightfully hate being subjected to - just as many such things as on the killer side - but all you're getting out of this is KILLER BAD. Actually, it's really ironic that your argument is that survivors can do whatever they want and that's strategy and killers just have to suck it up, but when killers do it, it's miserable and unfun. You're coming across as a photo negative of the toxic killer entitlement you're complaining about.
Alright. Whatever. I'm digressing. Here's my question. How would you penalize facecamping without damaging the other more fair or necessary situations where the killer is around the hook? I don't really care what you think of camping on the whole; if someone is hiding near the hook, or every member of the team is waiting around the area, or everyone is stealthing, or the gates are open, there is zero reason for the killer to go somewhere else. Punishing them in situations where leaving is an objectively bad move is not fair, and savvy survivors will take advantage of stuff like frozen timers or disabled powers to loop around the hook. Here's the deal you're missing; it's really easy to scream about absolutes when you don't actually have to come up with a solution, versus the real issue that every time BHVR's tried to address this, it either didn't really do anything to fix the problem (see: the new 5-second BT and how utterly ineffective it is) or created another issue.
Like, before you call me toxic and a horrible camping killer main and whatever, I hate facecamping and I despise the people that do it for kicks. But I can't figure out a way to fix it. I've noodled on a few solutions for Bubba in particular, but actual basekit for all killers? I've got nothing that wouldn't break more than it fixed.
Also, nice job claiming you have to be an immature manbaby or actual child who should get off DBD if god forbid you ever feel like online gamers are being dicks on purpose. The other day I ran into a Knockout Doctor who spent the whole time slugging and shocking until T3 made it impossible to pick people up, then bled everyone out, then took the last survivor and ran around carrying them to hold them hostage until they finally gave up trying to get a reaction out of them. What would you call that if not bullying? And if you agree that that killer was intentionally playing a bad game meant to make the other players miserable, what do you think about a 4-stack of BMing survivors sending the killer to RPD with 3 oak, quad sabo boxes, and Exponential/Boil Over? What is actually the difference here, when you get a survivor team that is more interested in crapping on the killer than doing the gens and getting out?
If you've never run into a coordinated SWF that did their damnedest to make sure you couldn't hook any of them, you don't play much killer, and you really don't have the grounds to speak on how a killer's a whiny baby for getting upset about it. At the very least, you don't have the right to declare that and then complain about whatever unenjoyable strategy killers use on you, which you seem to be doing.

With a map as laterally small as Midwich, it's quite possible that someone spawned in every corner and the box couldn't find an ideal spot to appear, so it spawned next to one of the survivors (since it's weighted way harder against the killer and it would rather spawn near a survivor than near Pinhead.)
