And stream sniping falls under the "cheating" category in twitch, the forums here will ban people for admitting to cheating but it doesn't specify what platform the cheating has to occur on. We both walk fine lines I guess, however I wasn't aware that casting judgement on others behaviors is considered disrespect as every single thread i've looked at does it, but at least im not trying to harm others and then bragging about it ya know?

Yes, it does. But as I've already said it may not apply to non-streamers seeing as how my account still remains unbanned even after admitting it to the streamer's.

Yes, BHVR does state that they'd ban cheaters admitting to cheating in the forum rules. However, as MandyTalk already stated as well, they have no rule for 'stream sniping' and take no action for those that do it. Therefore, I'm safe since that's exactly what I admitted to.

I feel like the information I provided to you could be considered useful to not only your friend but others who stream as well, it's just information you don't like to be informed about. "The ugly truth" but you took it a step further and insulted me.

  • Kayako from The Grudge. I know we kinda already got her with Spirit and it's yet another Japanese character but still. I feel like she'd be perfect as a stealth Killer coming out of nowhere cracking her bones making her trademark moan. The only questionable part would probably be how she'd attack since she doesn't use weapons. So maybe as a stealth Killer?

I'm thinking like a crawling black circle of hair on the ground and once you get close enough to a Survivor they can hear the moan and she can spring out but instead of injuring the Survivor it applies something like a fear meter and if not close enough she'd instead do a sprint crawl thing with the bone cracking. If you get caught twice you get put into like a catatonic state on the ground similar to the dying state. Then Kayako can rise out of the ground to pick you up to put you on the hook.

  • *EDIT WRONG THREAD, MODS PLEASE DELETE THIS POST*

  • I don't really understand your question. Could you rephrase it?

+ Separate Solo and SWF queues

    - Longer queue times

Are you suggesting that as a Killer, I'd be able to choose who I play against? Solo's or an SWF group? If so, then yes. I'd take longer queue times in exchange for only playing against Solo's. I imagine the reason why is clear as it's likely been posted a thousand times as to why Killer's don't like playing against SWF's.

In before SWF's say "BHVR won't implement this because it'll kill the game" or "SWF's shouldn't be punished for playing with their friends blah blah blah".

  • I feel like it's a win as long as I enjoyed myself as Survivor. I enjoy the game the most depending on how much I mess with the Killer and how competent my teammates are and by that I mainly mean them working on gens. Thankfully, Killer rage gives me more enjoyment than competent teammates because those seem far and few between in the Red ranks.

Like today for example, I played against a Leatherface on Lery's. He failed to down and hook me even once the entire match despite some moderate persistence, I kept smacking pallets on his dome, teabagging and leading him on a very long chase until fed up with frustration he just revved up his chainsaw and hit a random wall perhaps throwing a tantrum not only in game but in real life? Nearing the end..it was just me and my teammate. The Killer downed my teammate for the Nth time but he was not satisfied...he wanted me...so he camped the dying Survivor and even managed to bust (find) me but yet again I managed to lose him. I couldn't find the hatch anywhere and after he busted my teammate again he hooked them deciding to try his luck at busting me at the exit gates. I waited for him to check the one I was at and sprung out once he left. The gate open, he stands at the exit to Lery's. His eyes, fixated on my butt as I teabag him once again. He throws a hit at the wall in frustration before approaching me, I run closer to the exit and he believes I've left but there I stayed, continuing my ferocious assault on his sanity. His back turned and as he realizes the game has not ended...he pauses...then in one last bid of frustration he revs his chainsaw and comes at me one last time. I leave, uninjured. Living happily ever after. The End.

It's matches like those that I truly enjoy.

Oh and when I play Killer I want the 4k. :P

That sounds like a sad life, my condolences =( hope you get better soon.

Hey, I answered your question with my knowledge and experience and you respond with saying I live a sad life? I wonder if that could be construed as being disrespectful. Might want to be careful there catnip18, I also see lots of people getting banned left and right here recently.

  • Yeah, when I play Killer I watch their streams or "stream snipe" though I disagree with MandyTalk because I mean sure Twitch has ToS against stream sniping but the way I see it is, I'm not even a streamer so it's questionable if that rule even applies to me, I'm just a viewer with an account to type in chat. What are they gonna do about it? Psh..nothin' that's what. I've admitted to it plenty of times in streamers chats. Still haven't been banned.

Even if they banned my account, guess what? I can still watch anyone's streams because I don't even need an account to do that or I could just make another account. To be honest, if you don't want to be 'stream sniped' don't put TTV in your username or link it in your Steam profile. You're just inviting me to tune in....and I shall. ;)

I see a lot of people of saying that solo survivor needs a buff if killer gets a buff, this is something I disagree with.

When I was a survivor main, I mainly played solo survivor. So I know what it's like to play solo survivor, and how stressful it can be. However, the frustrations in solo queue isn't due to the game mechanics, rather due to the incompetent of other survivors.

When four good solo survivors go into a game, they're nearly as strong as a SWF. The reason is that to play optimally as a survivor, all you need to do is to spread out, work on generators when you're not being chased, have a chase route planned in case the killer disrupts your gen progress. You don't need communication to be able to do this.

The main advantage that a SWF would have over four good solo players is that they can coordinate hook saves, flash light save, take protection hits at the right time, etc. Even then there are perks such as Kindred, Bond, Empathy, and After Care.

The issue with solo survivor is that it's you're unlikely to get three randoms that know how to play survivor optimally. This is due to survivors getting to red ranks, when they do not belong there. This has nothing to do with game mechanics or game design. If a player is bad at the game, that is the player's fault, not the developers.

In my opinion, DBD shouldn't be balanced around bad survivors. Balancing the game around rank 20's (or players that play like rank 20's) just makes the game less enjoyable for competent/experienced players.

Personally, I believe the best way to make solo survivor more enjoyable is by making it harder to rank up, and having a true rank reset. Ever since they brought in the current rank reset system, DBD has become a lot less enjoyable in my experience.

However, MMR isn't the answer. Again, in my opinion an MMR system would not work in a game like DBD. There's too many variables that can happen in a DBD match, for there to be an accurate MMR system.

    Comment your thoughts.

Hmm...I agree with the fact that I don't believe Solo Survivor needs a buff. With the meta being Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Unbreakable/Borrowed Time and one of the sprint perks that can be used on each individual person...Survivor's are overpowered enough as it is.

Not sure if I agree with your point on it not being a game mechanic or game design issue. I probably have an even more unpopular opinion as to why the current system failed so from my point of view a skill based system makes sense.

  • It takes skill to hold mouse one and press space every now and again. Y u SoOoOo oPpReSsIvE BHVR?!

One perk limited to one person, OoO not included, and whatnot. And if every game you go against a deathsquad, take an hour break come back and continue. Try playing Solo Queue and see how you do against a tunneling/camping killer with teammates who don't care whether you live or die.

Taking a break for an hour doesn't help when you're a Killer in the low ranks. I've been a solo Survivor since I started playing and even gotten to the red ranks before (and that's from playing multiple Survivor's, starting from level 1 each time). I'd say I do fairly well against Killers and since I like to mess with them, being camped/tunneled *when it does happen* feels deserved. In the end it's still enjoyable because my experience makes me a pain to deal with individually and the Killer's attention and persistence to get me makes it enjoyable. If you're trying to compare that to the stress Killer's have to endure when playing against SWF's then I'd say you're full of it.

  • What else can be said other than to wait for BHVR to reintroduce the new matchmaking system? This issue has been known for a long time and I found that entire video funny, you should've put some derpy music in the background and added some memes. Your YT avatar seems similar to noob3, so I figured you'd at least copy his style of humor.

  • @Moundshroud said:

My personal view is that each Survivor should have one of their signature Perks converted into a base power (and thus not teachable) in the same way the Killers have a unique Power. That would make the Survivors MORE than just Skins. I'm not a huge fan of ANY of the abilities, Killer or Survivor being converted to automatic, base parts of the game.

Ooo hey that actually sounds interesting. Restricting Survivor perks to a single Survivor. The most powerful one would of course need to be the restricted one like David with Dead Hard, Laurie with Decisive Strike, Bill with Borrowed Time. Doubtful that'll ever happen but it's still nice to dream.

  • @Sam_Angel said:

Borrowed Time, as it is, is an essential perk for survivors. The only reason I, for one, use it is to not feel bad when I see the person I just rescued get instantly downed, potentially screwing over the entire team by the mistake of one person. This can also be exploited by troll survivors who wish to ruin the game for the team. A person on the team who doesn't run BT always risks messing over the person they just rescued, whether they thought it was a safe rescue or not. I fail to see how this can ruin the experience for either killers or survivors.

Please enlighten me on your thoughts about this.

"I fail to see how this can ruin the experience for either Killer's or Survivor's"

Well, if BHVR has any sense they wouldn't listen to a Survivor main with their biased opinion. "A person on the team who doesn't run BT always risks messing over the person they just rescued" It's called body blocking the Killer or waiting for them to get further enough away before going for the rescue, that's what a good teammate does and you're not always going to get that. Survivor's are overpowered enough as it is individually, they don't need ANOTHER controversial buff. Borrowed Time already doesn't make sense with it's "Oh you get to tank a hit for free" bull. I know you get the deep wound effect but who ever gets put back into the dying state from that? Psh..the so called downside you get doesn't balance out the positive.

  • From a casual standpoint I like her. She's unique in it that she spreads disease. When I first started playing her I enjoyed vomiting on people a little too much. It was so funny though!

I can't really comment from a serious perspective because I haven't gotten around to playing her enough.

  • @NekoGamerX said:

they wont killer would just dodge every swf group making swf unplayable which is they cashcow.

Well, I mean if that were true why would they include the ability to view Survivor's profiles? You can easily tell whose an SWF that way and dodge regardless.

Well, once they fix up matchmaking it should be smart enough to pick killers that are an appropriate skill level for the survivor team. Like, if I'm a rank 5 and I have two rank 20 buddies, I'd hope the game would give us like a rank 14 killer so things sort of even out. You're right that right now there isn't really a great option. Either queue up as normal and give us a disadvantage or smurf and give us an advantage. I really would prefer a good matchmaking system as a solution here instead of penalizing SWF, though.

The question is though...who'd want to play against SWF's in general even after they re-enable matchmaking? In my opinion, matchmaking will not resolve the issue SWF's have been bringing to the table and have been for years. Even if the system matches a Killer, they may not want to deal with the frustration of playing against SWF's. With this, they at least have incentive to try since they might just win, right?

Why everyone wanna to nerf SWF

They just wanna to play with friends and in the same way has so much survivals that play in SWF that are horrible

i have 2 group of friends one that if we tryhard we will probably win because everyone has game sense and know loops and etc

and the other group that if i do my best and pass all the cals we will still lose because i can be good but they have like 24Hours of game and we all that i can do is have fun and dont tryhard

If in the second group i cant even win normally imagine if it has these nerfs

And in the first group we will not be abble to win or we will have to let all the gens 99% to we dont have an mori

No you cant nerf SWF if you nerf everyone that dont have the first group that i have will BE DESTROYED

Everyone wants to nerf SWF's because they're overpowered.

It sounds like you're saying that SWF is fine as it currently is since it only ruins the Killer's experience when you're tryharding. That's a pretty selfish thing to say but regardless, once matchmaking is re-enabled it should put you up against Killer's around your skill level but that still wont make it entirely perfect either since SWF's will still have that unfair advantage.

  • When I play Killer, I view Survivor Profiles to determine if they're SWF's or not so I know who to go after first since in my opinion, cutting off all comms is the most effective way of dealing with an SWF group.

What I don't understand though is your purpose for wanting to view the Killer's profile? You say that three out of the five Killers you encountered were camping, etc. So three different killer's did that? How would viewing their profile benefit you in any way?

One definite issue with allowing Survivor's to see the Killer's profile is streamers. Often times I see streamers use their twitch username or link it in their profile. So you could watch their stream and have a huge advantage.

I wouldn't support any system that penalizes you for playing with your friends, especially when that would affect the rank 5 showing his two rank 20 buddies the game just as much as it would affect those elusive god-tier SWFs. I think the best way to handle SWF is to buff solo queue. I would support heavily nerfing or removing Moris, though.

I feel like it's in bad taste to pit your Rank 20 buddies against a Killer matched up against you when you're a Rank 5 Survivor in order to show them the game. You can make a new steam account and play DbD through Family Sharing I believe. Of course, that would mean you would be smurfing and once again validate the purpose of the system.

omg this. I knew playing Doctor felt extra crappy this time. In my first game I missed so many times so RIP hitting Survivors with the edge of your weapon and Shock Therapy missed extremely often even for Survivors standing right in the middle of it. If the beta for hit validation was going to be THIS bad, you guys should've put it in the PTB not the live version!

  • Here's how you request a refund: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6695-QIKM-7966

Ranks really don't matter in terms of skill. A Rank 5 Killer could be at Rank 20 if they don't play DbD for a good while due to the games monthly rank reset thing. That's exactly what happened to me and the same applies for Survivors.

You are rewarded far greater...in experience.

No, the endless losses are due to your lack of experience. Git gud.

I've played solo Survivor since the day I started playing this game and never once attempted to play with anyone else because I know from my experience that SWF (Survive with Friends) is cancerous. So for me to see you say that...it just sounds so pathetic...

Well, eventually BHVR will re-enable their new matchmaking system which is designed to match you with people of your skill level. Right now, it's using the old one which matches you by Rank which again, doesn't matter.

How do you know if the Consolers have 15,000 hours? You can't see their hours played.

Well, since you've been playing for five hours, I don't know if you'll be able to get a refund but you can still try. If not, you'll just have to chalk it up as a loss I guess. So just don't play it anymore or stop whining.

  • Above all else, SWF's.

They ruin the game, end of discussion. I may have minor issues with other aspects of the game but none compare to my hatred of SWF's.

It was definately for my community and dev bit but fair point. The rest of what I said was exactly the same except I added more constructive feedback on how to change it.

Kinda sounds like you are the type to troll and bully killers. Why not split it? You could make the "hardcore" mode even more intense. Make it so there is no private party chat and do a in-game voice chat only. When survivors talk they can only be heard within a certain distance. You only hear them as loud as they're talking. Their range with voice could 15-20 meters and fade off from there. The killer could also be able to hear you talking. That would also be a counter to swf. Could be a really cool immersion game mode.

I'm toxic all around. I bully Killer's and Survivor's. Even if BHVR implemented an in-game voice chat SWF's would still use the third party software specifically because it's a private voice chat. The only thing adding the in-game option would do is well..make it worse I imagine. Survivor's screaming obscenities at the Killer, trolling other Survivor's. Ooo the mic spam! Whose up for listening to an ear ######### version of Spongebob?

  • I think I saw your first post since it had the same title, topic and started with the fact that it was removed. If so, then I think we both know there was probably two reasons why it was removed. Either it was because you sounded like you were advocating D/C'ing or the fact that you said eff the devs and community or it was for both of those reasons.

I disagree with removing the penalty. It'll give Killer's the ability to just rage quit for in my opinion, being a crybaby. That's precisely what Survivor's did all the time when it was disabled.

I also don't agree with splitting game modes between casual and 'hardcore', because you don't want to deal with SWF's, well, I play to win and I don't want to deal with them either. The SWF feature as a whole is broken, overpowered and abused. Feel like I've seen a dev responding to someone saying that exact thing before, that they don't want to split game modes because it'll divide the player base or something.

You can tell if you're playing against SWF's by clicking their name in the lobby, looking at their profile and checking their friends list. If two or more people have private profiles there's a good chance they're SWF's. The options you have here are to either leave the lobby or fight them. Tunnel and kill them off one by one. Doesn't matter if you kill them all because at the very least you'll ruin one or more of their experiences.

  • I got that feeling too when I saw the trailer. Then when I watched a YouTuber's video of them playing the new Killer I thought "Is that the thing from that Amish movie?" the movie being "The Village".

I think that's what most people don't get. Why be a tryhard? Just chill and enjoy the game. Don't gotta be up in your seat acting like every game is life or death.

People enjoy playing the game to win.

  • I haven't played Leatherface, Pyramid Head or Clown since I started playing again. I think Pyramid Head is played often because of how new he is. I don't own him either though. Clown is also what I'd consider to be my main. When did he get popular? Last time I was here he was considered to be the worst Killer in the game. Leatherface was also considered bad.

I also haven't facecamped or proximity camped anyone yet. That's usually reserved for PC SWF's depending on their skill. I have tunneled of course, but again, only against PC SWF's. The Console Survivor's I've come across are nowhere near the level that would warrant me needing to. Also, when you say 'sweaty' that's the same as being a 'tryhard' right? It kind of sounds like you're saying being good doesn't make you good.

  • @Peanits said:

With the matchmaking rating system, each killer has its own independent rating. If you're amazing at Oni but suck at Nurse, the game gives you easier opponents when you play as Nurse so it's more fair. Meanwhile if you play Oni, it gives your tougher opponents. The reason why you're locked is to prevent someone from queuing as their bad killer (e.g. Nurse) and then switching to their good killer (e.g. Oni) to get easy opponents and play the killer they're really good at.

Survivors, on the other hand, are all the same. There is no gameplay difference between Ace and Jane. Perks are shared between all of them and they do not have a power. You're not suddenly going to be a much better survivor because you switched to Dwight. Therefore, you share one rating across all of your survivors.

I would typically switch to a different Killer due to the curse of suffering you've placed upon us also known as SWF's. It felt like some Killer's were better at handling them than others or they had more perks unlocked or I had more experience with them or all of the above. So personally, I feel like this change will cause more delayed games due to lobby dodging.

I would like to ask though, how will the matchmaking system deal with SWF's? Will it be based on whichever Survivor has the highest 'rating'? Will it be based on that and match them with a much higher rated Killer? I feel like the answer should be "Psh yeah, I mean obviously!" but I need verification..

  • I've pretty much had the exact opposite experience.

I'm on PC. Rank doesn't matter, I have gotten into the Red Ranks before but I haven't played for a very long time and my rank was already back to 20. I actually came back because of the new matchmaking system Behavior added but today I found out that they DISABLED IT!

One thing I've noticed is that in basically every lobby, I get console survivors. They vastly outnumber PC players it seems.

As Survivor: Console Survivors seem well..they tend to run over to the Killer as soon as they hook a Survivor, not even waiting until the Killer leaves. More often than not, the Console Survivor's are just a pile of bodies in front of the Killer.

Against Console Killers, it seems very easy and funny to be honest. An easy way for me to tell if it's a PC or Console Killer is by just sitting in a corner. All of my Survivor's wear dark clothes and since Consoler's don't have a monitor right in their face they totally miss me every time. It's hilarious. Against PC Killer's, there's about a 40% chance that'll work and if it doesn't they stare at me like "This motherf-" and slap my #########.

As Killer: It's mainly just me stomping Console Survivors because they're the same as described above. I swear, Ghostface must be top tier to you guys. I even had a game where there was two PC SWF Survivors and two Console Survivors. PC SWF's are the cancer of this game by the way, or at least to PC Killers. But anyway, at first I thought every Survivor in that game was competent since they were effectively getting gens done, picking up slugged Survivors, etc. I thought the game was lost. But after all of the gens were finished I had managed to kill off the SWF's and pretty much just killed off the Consolers in what felt like 30 seconds..

I never said the devs should leave SWF cause I do agree that SWF is insanely broken. This post was more of a there are some chill swf who are just trying to relax and hoping to get killers to see that not every single group is trying to bully them.

Maybe you should rephrase your original post then because it sounds like you're saying "SWF Fine, Killer bad, git gud scrub"

Yeah, I don't think your method of showing that some SWF's are 'chill' will have any affect. Definitely won't for me. If I see that you're SWF's you're getting tunneled one by one until you're all dead. Privating your profile or friends list doesn't help either! If I see that then I'll just assume you're SWF's!

  • Do you console players have aim assist? I'm on PC and considering to disable cross-play because well, I mean you're talking to us about having an unfair advantage. I came across two Huntresses recently that somehow predicted my movement perfectly as they threw their hatchets even though usually against PC Huntresses I dodge throws well. Psh..if console Huntresses have homing hatchets that's messed up.

The only upside I see to this is from my most recent match against a console Legion. Was one of the funniest things I've experienced. This guy could not see me because I'm wearing all black and console players don't have a monitor right at their face. Literally staring at me for a solid seven seconds as if he's going "######### is that? is that a person?" before I moved and he freaked hitting a wall.

  • I've been playing Killer for about two days now and this never happened to me but today, I was sick and tired of dealing with SWF groups that I decided to bring an Ebony Mori for the next group. Right after I hook the second survivor I'm glitched and frozen.

You would think a big ass bug like this that immobilizes the Killer would be fixed ASAGDFP. Anyone know how long it's been an issue so far? You gonna refund me an Ebony Mori, Behavior?!

  • First of all, steamcharts suggest the game's player base is actually increasing and has been continuously for a good while and whatever losses it may have, it's easily eclipsed by the amount of new players joining. Secondly, I'd be fine with Mori's being removed so long as SWF is removed as well.

  • 2: That seems nice.

    3: Are you on crack?

4: Uhhh...I don't usually see that anymore ever since the toolbox nerf. Don't really know how the game would determine who gets to use what in the pre-game lobby and a bunch of Survivor's are gonna whine. Personally, I don't really care about it all that much..

5: Agreed with the previous posts about this just generally being a bad suggestion.

6: Doesn't really seem logical to me. If someone's gonna stick their hand in a bear trap to attempt to disarm it and fail to do so, it's gonna clamp down on their arm.

7: Uhh...I guess? I've never really cared about chests enough as Killer to put any thought into changing them.

    8: I don't like this suggestion.

    10: That ones not bad.

I somewhat disagree. The sheer amount of SWF's in this game is truly astonishing. I know, because I've specifically been playing Killer only for the past two days just for this purpose. Keep that in mind, two days straight, that's a lot of games. Looking into each and every Survivor in my lobby I found that the vast majority of them are SWF's.

  • Update: 100% confirmed that SWF's can hide that they're SWF's. I know it for a fact now because the last two games I had were against SWF's! I carefully looked on each persons profile in their friends list and saw that it only says they're online. Sometimes it says they're in DbD so you can tell who's an SWF and who isn't by comparing lobby names. So I guess it's a privacy setting on Steam or something. Can't really show proof because I don't know if that'd be considered 'naming and shaming' on the forums, even though these SWF scumbags deserve to be shamed.

Be careful out there, fellow Killer's. I never supported the idea of backing out of a lobby until now. It's just way too unfair to even bother.

    To these whiny killers:

    1. The devs just nerfed gen co-op speed and great skill check progression significantly, while also modifying many maps to remove strong loops. To my knowledge, killers received no nerfs in the most recent patch.
    2. How do you propose the developers stop voice comms? Make Dead by Daylight force close while Discord is open? There is literally no point in bringing this topic up; there is absolutely nothing that can be done about comms outside of Dead by Daylight.
    3. Have you considered changing your playstyle, knowing they are SWF? Camp hooks?
    1. Doesn't help if they're organized and Prove Thyself negates the changes anyway. Also, what is your logic? If one side is nerfed the other side has to be at the same exact time for every patch? Whatever Behavior decides something needs to be nerfed they'll do it when they get to it. SWF's have been a gigantic pain in this game for a VERY long time though and nothing has been said about it whatsoever from them. No Killer in the history of this game has ever liked playing against SWF's.
    2. I've already acknowledged that it's impossible to stop voice comms outside of DbD, the suggestion I already made was to remove SWF from casual lobbies altogether. There's no point in it existing other than to give Survivor's an extremely unfair advantage.
    3. Right, because it's always the person who's playing Killer that's just not good enough. "Git Gud Killer hur! hur!" Just totally disregard the fact that I said I played on one of the few maps that are still huge which they haven't changed yet and camp hooks? Seriously? If it's a team of SWF's the chances of all of them having Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike are almost guaranteed.

That's the kind of attitude everyone expects to see from Survivor mains.

Either they don't see an issue with it or just can't find a "fair" solution to it to both sides.

because it serves no other purpose other than providing Survivor's a severe advantage over the Killer.

Or you know, playing with friends while also earning points and doing rift's challenges easier.

...and WHY is it easier to do rift challenges easier if you're with your friends? It sounds like you're trying to counter what I just said with that statement...

The only scenario where they wouldn't have that severe advantage over the Killer would be if they didn't have comms but seeing as how there's no way to prevent anyone from using comms outside of the game, that's just a very unlikely scenario.

  • @Milo said:

Tbh there isn't a clear answer for SWF situation.

Well, clearly with the amount of complaints about SWF's in the game from players who play Killer, remaining silent on the issue isn't the best way to resolve it either and to my knowledge, that's all they've done so far. No official statement on it, no public plans of changing it, they don't even acknowledge the fact that Killer's hate it existing in the game and I'm sure plenty of players have provided various means of resolving this issue but again, Behavior has remained totally silent on the subject.

My suggestion would be to just remove it from casual play because it serves no other purpose other than providing Survivor's a severe advantage over the Killer. You can use it all you like in custom games though.

  • I wouldn't say it is. It's a strategy, you need to not focus on what Survivor's dictate as 'fun' and focus more on enjoying it yourself. It's that kind of talk that made a lot of Survivors entitled and make up a rule book for Killer's.

I had a game like that myself recently, they were complaining about me 'tunneling', 'camping' and 'slugging'. No, what happened were those idiots showed zero respect and kept trying to unhook right in front of Billy. So they got killed for it.

  • I feel like I watched another one of his videos where he commented saying he plays both sides pretty evenly but despite the countless hours he's played as Survivor, the moment he plays Killer once everyone calls him a Killer main @OP. However, the point remains the same. It kind of looks like he just gave up and facecamped near the end and the only reason he got as many as he did was because they kept coming back. See, they were done with gens long before Tru3 sacrificed anyone. So this in no way means gen speeds are fine and it's balanced gameplay. In fact, it's undeniable proof that the gameplay is unbalanced.

Well, the match-making system is screwed up for a lot of different reasons, farming really doesn't tie into why this is the case. It's mostly due to the match-making being buggy atm, which is why hey're just overhauling the whole system entirely to give a fresh new outlook for the future generation of players in DBD.

As for farming itself, it isn't inherently bannable yes,but BHVR isn't really into it either... so that's why it's frowned upon. You hardly see reports on it because... why would you report the Killer or Survivors for farming when you joined in? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose AND also get you in trouble? (if hypothetically it was bannable).

I wouldn't worry about that though.

I don't believe I'd have to worry about it. Because I don't boost/farm and never have in any game, in fact, I despise the act of doing it. So in this hypothetical scenario, I would have either done all the gens myself and left or irritated the Killer and killed myself on hook since disconnecting would get me a ban.

  • @FireHazard

Thank you very much for this information, FireHazard. I know I saw a post somewhere on here from @Peanits saying no one's going to care if you farm some BP. Pretty sure that's what all farmer's on DbD refer to if you call them out at the end of the game and take it as "Dev's say farming is not a bannable offense, it's frowned upon, but not bannable." due to again, a lack of clear cut examples. I myself saw it that way and figured no wonder the matchmaking system is all screwed up. :(

    Thanks again though!

  • thefallenloser was pretty much spot on with everything they said in regards to issues, not agreeing with their opinion or proposed changes though. Don't really agree with NoEd being a very problematic perk when as they themselves acknowledged that the games/gen speeds are too fast. They also missed how much Killer's hate SWF's.

Also, suggestions have a specific section on the forums. It probably won't be seen but at least you'll get it out there.
