Swf is biggest problem, not gen rush.

It's day and night when u compare Swf and SoloQ.

I can get multiple kills against solo almost every game while against Swf with map offerings and coms it feels like it's time to surrender.

If anything needs to be changed it's swf. 4 man squad shouldn't exist.

Thing is we know nothing is gonna be done about SWF. And my killer matches during the day also seem a little more chill but after dinner hours it's all sweaty matches.

Yeah and it's implied that they're actually going to give solo queue Survivors a buff to "bridge the gap" according to their most recent Q&A. So in other words it's just gonna get worse.

  • You know, I thought the same thing about We're Gonna Live Forever when it popped up in the PTB with +100% heal rate on Survivors in the dying state. Like no way Behavior's gonna let that go through, healing is such a big deal in this game. But guess what? It did go through. I wonder how many of you dismissing it as a PTB thing will admit you were wrong or take the Killer's side and say it's overpowered after it goes through.

When I read the patch notes the boon totems and buffing Built to Last to broken just overshadowed anything positive they did for Killer. You people need to stop dismissing it and start saying it's overpowered so behavior gets the hint.

  • Grades don't matter anymore it's based on your MMR and while I thought that the system is supposed to give you easier Survivors when you're playing a new Killer some people were saying it's still gonna be based partly on your overall Killer MMR. I found that out when I myself played Pig for the first time and got sweaty SWF's. Didn't know what the ######### I was doing.

Could also be due to the time you're playing, if the system can't find easier matches for you it'll just throw you a sweat squad which most people are doing now.

Survivors do not get insanely strong perks. When was the last strong or meta survivor perk that we have received?

This last patch? Built to last was upgraded to broken status and then of course Boon totem perks. Both of them are broken.

Gen pops in 30s, find a chase, down them in 30s, gen pops. Hook them, gen pops. I ######### breath, gen pops, and thats with full thana and Gift of pain up. That devour you had? Say goodbye cause we spawned it next to the survivors. Survivor dead harded? We're going to completely cancel your lunge so you lose even more distance than just missing. Oh, and every gen with the best possible loop so you can't defend it or even kick it because they'll just stop the regression immedietly and get away again in the span of 3 seconds because map design doesnt ######### exist in the game's language.

What the absolute ######### am i meant to do? Doesnt help that they all just get a free heal and sprint burst cause the devs decided that sprint burst was balanced. Sure, if you can just ######### teleport to them like nurse does, but what the ######### are the rest of the killers meant to do? May as well just sit in a ######### corner, because theres going to be no difference.

Edit: just checked the time, it was have literally a 4 minute game.

I think the meta Killer build is Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Undying and BBQ or Discordance. So yeah, basically you're forced to use a bunch of gen slowdown ######### because Behavior thinks it's balanced. I mean one of the devs acknowledge that Killers shouldn't be forced to use all that stuff all the time and yet Killers have been using those perks for the longest time. I think it's willful ignorance at this point since Behavior has nothing official to say about anything that could possibly be in the works to help improve the QoL for Killers.

  • I'm a solo Survivor, because playing Killer is just plain horrible the vast majority of the time but I am trying to play it a little more.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/281441/sbmm-not-matching-correctly-for-new-low-level-killers

It seems that it is not completely separate. Your highest MMR killer will boost your other killers too.

I don't even have a very high MMR, because I don't play Killer that much and haven't for a long time, because of crap like this.

  • 1. Overpowered and will be abused.

    2. Sounds like an annoying popup.

    3. Agreed...even though the vast majority of Survivors are SWF's these days..

  • Nevermind, I went ahead and tested it myself and found that I generally had the same amount of negative points as I did using a different Killer. So...in other words, unless you're going against total newbs that think cleansing versus Plague is a bad thing, Plague is punished pretty severely for using her power by the Entity since Survivors can cleanse and immediately heal back up to healthy.

  • Bugged Out is confusing. "Each skill check made will give a token for that specific generator." uhh...is it like each skill check the Survivor's have completed on a specific gen will generate tokens for you and will then apply this regression speed bonus each time you kick it? Sounds promising but maybe too powerful. If that is the way you intended it to work, then you just need to modify those percentages to be more balanced.

Perseverance....sounds worthless...doubtful anyone would use that. One idea I got from that would be to just let Killer's replace broken Hex totems. Perhaps with the ability to place the new one in an area of their choosing.

Light Breaker...mmm...sounds good at first but if the Survivor's only have one gen left this could really screw you over.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

just came up with this and i want to hear you people's oppinion before i actualy suggest it in feedback

It's bassicly to reward getting multiple hooks more and give survivors a fighting chance when someone dies early

Everytime a survivor is hooked they recieve a penalty to repair speed

For the first hook it's a 15% repair penalty, after the second hook this increases to 20%

    Some notes

this only happens on actual hooking/caging, going from 1st to 2nd stage without getting unhooked means the penalty stays 15%

The first penalty is much higher then the second one to reward the killers who spread their hooks out

Whenever a survivor dies, the other survivors get a boost to repair speed

When the first survivor dies all other survivors get a 33% bonus to repair speed, after the second one it increases to 66% to then finaly increase to 100% for the last survivor

    Some notes

This means that quickly killing a survivor won't have as much of an impact as before as the number of charges/second the survivors can do roughly remains the same (4 survivors can do 4 charges a second on sepperate gens, 3 survivors with the buff 3.99 charges a second. When one is chased 4 survivors do 3 charges a second and with the buff 2 survivors do 2.66 charges a second.) it only starts being a real advantage to the killer after 2 people died

What do you people think of this? Would this be good? any balance issues or ways to exploit it that i missed?

Sounds like a bad suggestion but it's also a bit confusing.

So it punishes Survivor's who have been hooked with a 15% repair penalty on the first hook and 20% on the second hook. That sounds alright-ish? Then it gets into giving bonuses after a Survivor dies. That part I have a hard time agreeing with because of map sizes, it's already difficult as hell to patrol these gens so if a Survivor just up and suicides on the first hook and the Killers on the other side of the map. The rest of the Survivor's are gonna pop three gens before the Killer can lumber their fat asses over to the other gens then they'll be long gone gen rushing the last two. Also, what point is there to increase the repair rate to 100% on the last Survivor? Both the Killer and Survivor will be looking for hatch at that point.

I don't even understand what that last bit means. Talking about "charges". Also, this doesn't even take into account gen repair speed boosting perks. So I'm going to have to give it a big thumbs down. This suggestion would just bring back if not make gen speeds worse than they were way back when Behavior nerfed it.

  • Hah, I just watched a bit of that video and closed the window as soon as he started getting into that bit that NoEd gives you things you didn't deserve or earn. Which, I also agree is just a dumb thing to say. But we all know how Behavior is so we all know what's gonna happen to NoEd soon enough...need to keep giving Survivor's more advantages so they're of course gonna do everything possible to make Killer's weaker.

I'm so tired of this mentality. It's not X-sided. It's simply not. And even if it was, why in the fresh blue hell can I only rely on myself and the perks I bring to survive?

Have you ever played solo survivor? I literally cannot expect my teammates to save me from the hook WITH Kindred.

What mentality? It's a fact. It is Survivor sided, it very much is. Well..that's the kinda the point don't ya think? You're a Survivor in a horror game against a Killer? What exactly are you expecting here?

Yes, I am a solo Survivor main. Meaning I have only played as a Solo Survivor since I started playing Survivor. I've unlocked every teachable perk for every Survivor starting from level 1 each time, DLC included and here recently I even unlocked every Adept Survivor achievement in two days as a Solo to further prove that Survivor is easy.

Have you ever played Killer? Are you trying to downplay the sheer amount of stress a Killer has to endure by comparing it to a minor issue such as potato teammates?

  • You don't need to apologize for playing the game bro. It's incredibly Survivor sided, they're spoiled rotten and what happens when you do that? They get super entitled. Playing Survivor is easy. Playing Killer is not and it's tremendously stressful. You do what YOU do as a Killer to Survive.

  • These licensed characters being added into the game was a financial move. The only thing Behavior cared about was putting whatserface or whatsisface in the game and they let the studio secretary design the backstory who spent a whopping one hour doing research on it. Will the lame backstory's prevent anyone from buying whatserface or whatsisface just to play them? Nope, the fans are gushing at the idea of playing them.

How dare you suggest that the secretary do any further research and come up with a better storyline. They don't get paid for that. =3=

Jill's new backstory is that she was eating a sandwich in a shopping mall with zombies when all of a sudden Nemesis bursts into the scene and bull rushes Jill, her clinging to her sandwich for dear life, Nemesis smashes her through a wall and straight into a portal as the Entity was waiting and they both get sucked up. Jill awoke in a strange place near a campfire and searched frantically but alas, she found that NEMESIS STOLE HER SANDWICH! NOOOOooooo!

  • Recently saw a community manager comment about how they go through all of the threads on here..if so, could you keep a tally on how many people keep saying they don't want to play against SWF's or about SWF's in general then reply here saying how many we need before you guys will forward our complaints to whoever can make a change happen?

That search filter that filters out SWF's sounds like a good idea.

  • I've had a decent Survivor experience. On day one my teammates were all competent. On day two they were mostly potato's. On day three it was kind of a mix of both but most of them were competent. It was usually like three competent Survivor's and for some reason the system keeps brings in a potato as the fourth. SWF's are pretty terrible, I was told it would find the "average" skill level of an SWF group. But that could mean that one Survivor is competent but they're bringing a potato.

My Killer experience is as many other Killers, nothing but sweaty SWF's or really high skilled solo's and that combined with how the system tends to choose the absolute worst map for the Killer you've chosen? Instant loss. System didn't even have mercy on me like it's supposed to if you have a low level Killer or one that you haven't played in a long time.

Ah, because mentioning friends automatically means we're in a swf group, did you even think before typing that?

The fact that you mentioned your friends throughout your original post implies that you are SWF's. Why even mention them if you're not? Are you not able to comprehend how that could easily be misconstrued?

  • Either gen speeds or bad map design. Because as it stands, there's always one gen that gets finished before the Killer manages to down a Survivor and considering the fact that the Killer has to hook each of the four Survivor's three times just to sacrifice them while the Survivor's only have to do five gens, one of which they just completed and another which is likely to be done soon.

Honestly, I'd like to see what it'd be like if Behavior either made the maps smaller, removed a considerable amount of loops, windows and pallets or all of the above for the sake of making it easier to play the murdering psychopathic badass that you should be. Just add in an option to opt into "challenge mode" or something above the ready up button and let people play on one of these types of smaller maps.

  • Oh nuu, a 3-Man SWF group is angry that the Killer's tunneling and camping and wants "fair" Killer's that don't do that all the while you'll stack meta crutch perks and use comms against them. Seems totally fair alright.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

Just curious. Not saying that it is a "win", but if the match was fun, you had good chases and made lots of points, and two survivors escaped, would you be satisfied?

I used to think that I had to get a 4k when I played killer, mainly because of the toxic endgame chat where the survivors constantly berated me, but when I think about it, when I have 25K blood points and two kills, I'm usually happy. It only becomes frustrating when they're toxic as hell, then I want them all on hooks by any means possible.

What are you talking about? Dead by Daylight is a stressfest bully simulator if you're playing Killer. Good chases? What are those? Against good Survivor's, chases are them vaulting through window after window after window after window after window after window after window then it's pallet after pallet after pallet after pallet after pallet after pallet after pallet. It feels like an eternal nightmare because you can't move your fat a** fast enough to ever catch up to them.

Two seems pretty low. I think I'd be satisfied with a 3k and that's only because I've lost many a 4k because Behavior decided to give Survivor's a pity escape aka Hatch so I'm pretty much forced to accept a 3k as a win. 4k's are still better and a true victory though.

  • An SWF filter is something that I heard Behavior was discussing at one point and a feature I very much want added. Also, I don't believe the queue times will be as bad as some make it seem. There's 36k people on right now, about 60k at peak times and even more if you have cross play enabled. So I mean it may be a bit long at first but as a Killer, I believe the experience will be well worth the wait and as time goes on more and more people will start to understand that no Killer wants to play against an SWF group. I doubt even the top level players would want to so this filter is precisely what we need.

See, a common complaint SWF's make if you try to nerf SWF in general is that you shouldn't be punished because you want to play with friends. They don't want to compromise and see no issue whatsoever with being an SWF. This filter is the perfect solution, it in no way impacts the SWF groups in-game experience aside from queue times but you know what? As both a Solo Survivor and a Killer I'm totally fine with that. ;)

Survivor is defo not easy when playing SoloQ. I'm saying this as a mostly killer main that plays solo survivor from time to time and each time I'm reminded why I'm not playing it as often. See, that's the problem. As a killer, the entire match is entirely up to you. If you screw up, you're to blame. If you succeed, you are to congratulate. With solo survivor, you are punished or rewarded for stuff outside of your control.

What do you mean since SBMM has been enabled, things are fine? SBMM is a complete nightmare, I get the most potato teammates as possible. Every other game I have people either DC'ing or killing themselves on hook. Second stage is nearly guaranteed in most games since SBMM was enabled. Also teammates that literally crouch and hide in the corners of the map the entire game. I like how they made it impossible to see other player's ranks, so it's not obvious how much of a disaster their experiment is, I'm almost certain that I'm getting brown rank teammates almost every game. It's a complete mess. The other dude's comment makes sense. It would be good if you could put BT on yourself, instead of having it as a perk for others. That way you no longer rely on potato teammates to have it when hook farming you.

Well, I'm saying Survivor is easy despite being a solo because I always have been a solo. I've unlocked every teachable Survivor perk, DLC included and did so starting from Level 1 for each Survivor. I'm questioning if you're new yourself to Dead by Daylight or if you've got that backwards or if you're just a troll.

You make it sound as if Killer is easier than Survivor which may be true if you're new because it is, up until you get to the Green Ranks I believe, then you start playing against Red Rank Survivor's. Which in my case was a horribly stressful experience that made me switch to Survivor and while I may be a Rank 1 Killer now my opinion remains the same. It's usually a horribly stressful experience. I don't really think SBMM helped in that regard.

As a Red Rank Survivor though, I've mostly had competent teammates because as the SBMM implies, it pairs me with Survivor's with similar skill to mine. For your experience it makes sense, you admitted yourself that you barely play Survivor so the system puts you with other low skilled Survivors. Now, if you meant that you only play *solo* Survivor every now and then but primarily play as an SWF and you're complaining about rando's not being as coordinated then no offense but I wouldn't want you on my team either. Before SBMM I had lots of potato Red Ranks which are likely boosted Survivor's. Be it from farming or from them being an SWF.

  • I agree. Killer adepts need to be reworked to something simpler like killing all the survivor's in a trial using only a Killer's three perks seeing as how all you have to do as Survivor is escape with their three perks. That's like babytown frolics.

  • I kind of feel like I'm on the fence with this one.

So punishing Survivor's that body block and take a protection hit with BT makes sense. I agree with that. But implementing it into the core game when Survivor's have Decisive Strike and Dead Hard so you can have an additional perk? Nope. Survivor in general is easy in my opinion. So I feel like any arguments that Survivor's need a buff should be shelved until the game is actually balanced.

Also, as a solo Survivor I haven't experienced this issue of potato Survivor's since SBMM has been enabled.

  • I don't want to be lumped together with casual potato's, thank you. This new system has made solo Survivor much more enjoyable for me because I get other competent Survivor's be it solo or SWF's.

  • I agree. As far as Survivor's go the vast majority of matches I had as a solo went very well! My teammates were very competent though one issue may still be that some crybaby Survivor's are still immediately suiciding on their first hook against certain Killer's. Just had that happen against a Spirit with a 2-Man SWF group suiciding. So sick of this immature mindset...grow the f up people.

  • You know, when I think about top tier Killer's I feel like ranged and speed Killer's are the ones at the top and at the number one spot? Huntress. She's the Killer that most people main and I'm not surprised why. She's ranged, her hatchet hitboxes are broken and she possibly has the strongest add-ons and all of this combined makes her the strongest Killer in the game.

So with that mind, do I believe Huntress of all Killer's needs a buff? Heeeeeeeeelllll nah. Just buff the perk in some other way.

  • What Ace should have is a legendary skin of Ace Ventura because they sound so similar.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408306#Comment_2408306

No, I think being broken the entire trial is a pretty massive downside.

No killer's going to just let you pick yourself up, they can see you're running no mither.

Well, I mean if you go No Mither, Dead Hard, Vigil and one other perk maybe DS you could probably manage. Your grunts of pain are minimalized and you leave no blood trails as well as being able to pick yourself up and using Dead Hard at the perfect time is similar to getting hit and gaining distance with Vigil reducing the time before you can use it again. DS, Dance with me, Fixated, Urban Evasion, Flip Flop, Poised, Resilience, Soul Guard, Unbreakable, Spine Chill, Tenacity, Power Struggle...it has a lot of potential perk combinations that work with it. But that's just my opinion.

but idk the only videos I saw was you rank 5 from 1 month ago, not that old.

Are you talking about the Trickster video? It was three purples and a red uploaded shortly after the Rank reset..

Also, in the single Survivor video I have, I am in fact a Red Rank playing as Laurie at level 38 because I play Survivor's starting from scratch and as solo only. Gets more core experience rather than relying so heavily on crutch perks or comms as an SWF.

Does every Killer need to buffed into Opression land?

Trickster and Nemesis come to mind as recent examples.

Trickster certainly wasn't OP and why can't that be ok. All he really needed was a fix to his Chase interactions while throwing knives so you wouldn't de-pip. His ranged ability shuts down a lot of looping options. He's weak indoors, or was.

Nemesis is pretty balanced in my opinion, certainly not OP and, unique being the first Killer with AI.

Do we really need to buff every Killer that can't ZOOM across the map or one hit down?

Behavior doesn't spend thousands of dollars to have a Killer be 3D modeled, textured, animated, voiced, themed and promoted for no one to buy or use them. Killer's are the faces of DbD and no one's gonna use a Killer that's considered terrible. The irony in this game is that despite the fact that a "Killer" is someone that's supposed to be a badass psychopath with an overwhelming presence, which our Killers appear to be...but once you know what you're doing as a Survivor every "Killer" might as well be wearing Jester hats because they're only there for a Survivor's entertainment in this bully simulator... :|

    It's actually really sad..

Girl as a survivor main ... I hate that map as well haha.

It's so hard to find generators plus getting from one side of the map to the other is hell. I get lost all the time, especially when it's on me to go and save someone on the whole other side.

Sounds like you just need to play it a bit more. I've played it about five times now and I've pretty much got the layout down. Still won't be easy as Killer regardless due to the things I mentioned before.

Hag definitely exceeds on it though, Trapper may as well.

Well, I hate to break it to YOU but there are 37k people currently playing and about 60k-70k playing at peak times. I've never even experienced this crashing issue myself. For all I know OP could just be one of these people that D/C at the start of every trial themselves for kicks and wants it back so they can go right back to doing it again.

  • @gilgamer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2406276#Comment_2406276

Its definitely not one person dude. Not too mention the myriad of other bugs that have been in the game for years. All the dc penalty does is punish people who have actual crashes people who would've dc'd just kill themselves on first hook for the same effect anyways on just eat a 5 minute penalty then go on to kill themselves on first hook. It literally solves nothing.

Well, the topic at hand is D/Cing, not those other bugs. The amount of people suiciding on first hook is vastly lower than the amount of people D/Cing for dumb reasons. At the very least, the worthless Survivor can keep the Killer busy while they take them to hook (each second counts in this game) and can also serve as bait to the Killer if they decide to stand around and watch in disgust as the suiciding turd goes bye bye.

  • I usually have the most fun being as toxic as possible to the Killer. His life as a Killer is already a living hell, so for me to teabag him at every waking moment, be it at every pallet, during his BBQ after he hooks a different Survivor or just doing it right out in the open it usually ends with them tunneling the ever loving crap out of me and even if they manage to kill me it tends to be way too late to do anything. So they'll probably de-pip and leave much more frustrated while I just sit there with a smug grin because I had nothing but fun. Welp, time for another lobby!

  • No, don't disable it because one person is having issues. Fix it whilst keeping the D/C penalty enabled. Go report your issue in the bug subsection instead of making insane suggestions.

The D/Cing was rampant when it was disabled. Survivor's D/Cing over the dumbest things like the Killer, the Map or even the fact that they got downed first and that affects the three other Survivor's that are stuck in the trial with a much bigger disadvantage because of one immature little...ehm, problematic person.

  • When I read that post I just thought: I pReSsEdeD M1 AaAaAlLlLlL gAeM y I nO gEt MoAr PoInS tHaN sHiDdy K1LlEr?!

The reason as to why the Killer got zero kills is a mystery. Maybe everyone in your team is running Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Borrowed time and he got a map that's just horrible for Nemesis because we all know the system primarily chooses the absolute worst map for you based on the Killer you're playing. If that's the case then I'd say he very much deserves more points if that's the crap he had to deal with. Could make it even more worse than that if you're all SWF's and all of you are running those perks.

Myers in stalk, Ghostface in stalk, Freddy if asleep but it works vs Pig and Wraith I think.

Spine Chill does work against Myers and Ghostface in stalk. I don't know about Freddy in sleep. You *think* it works against Pig and Wraith? I want to know how many hours you have in this game if you think something may or may not work. If you're a newbie you shouldn't be complaining about things like this when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Spine Chill is one of the strongest perks in the game. As far as I know, it counters all Killers.

When MMR is implemented, Rank Rewards will also be implemented so you will gain BP etc at rank reset depending on your highest rank reached. However, you will not be facing against Rank 20's as that would be incredibly unfair and the system will match you against players of your own skill level.

But whennnnnnn will MMR be implemented? Will it also be released with the ability to toggle whether or not you play against SWF's? Because I know you said the system would somehow "average" out the skill of a group, if that was you, might've been Peanits, but I don't trust it'll make the experience any less infuriating.

  • Massive, maze-like and dark. Very Survivor sided. I don't care if they remade the whole level from the game, I'm saying that they shouldn't have in the first place. It should've been warped by the Entity or something so it's not like this.

I lose the Killer very often because I wear dark cosmetics and every corner is a question for the Killer since I can easily start walking and make no scratch marks. Usually they're just like f-it and leave. Not gonna search the thousands of dark rooms and corners that I could potentially be sitting in.

  • Seems like a bad addition in my opinion. The reason being is that I watched the movie and had the same opinion shortly after it started to when it ended. Knockoff Freddy Krueger. Now any time I think of Candyman I think of that meme of a kid asking his mother for Nightmare on Elm Street, his mother saying we have Freddy at home. Freddy at home: Candyman.

He doesn't even have a good origin story like Freddy, who was a murderer of children. Candyman was murdered for sleeping with a white woman during that time when racism was at an all time high in America, black people were enslaved and killed for literally anything. How and why he attached a hook to his severed limb after he died is a mystery and the way you call him is the old bloody Mary chant in a mirror. But oh no, if you try to disprove his existence to the public he's gonna come get ya because he can't come back if people don't remember him! Sound familiar? Why is he even killing people?

Why people want this knockoff Freddy in the game is beyond me but it does serve as a fine example that this community just wants literally everyone added into the game as Killer. Where's the thread requesting the PuRpLE TeLeTuBbY be added to the game?

  • Not really a big fan of it either. Behavior's kind of being big brother with that. Censoring everything.

  • Would be nice if farming was actually bannable rather than being in a "gray area". I've despised the act of it since the days of Modern Warfare 2 when I first experienced the act of Farming/Boosting headshots for gun skins and because of that I never willingly participate. Though it is annoying that my time is wasted because these kids want to have tea parties with the Killer.

Mandy talks about it only being against the rules if they're "forcibly" farming you but I mean, am I not forced to participate in this ludicrous gameplay when I'm almost always the only one playing the game normally? When the Killer notices that I'm the only one doing gens they start going after me while my teammates sit there and watch or in some cases, they farm me.

I'm being punished for playing the game normally. Because of friendlies. I may de-pip. Because of friendlies. I get less BP. Because of friendlies. I have zero enjoyment during that trial. Because of friendlies. Why is this even a discussion? Ban the friendlies.
