It is so bad that I, with a good ping mind you, hit a David with my Chainsaw, I heard him scream, I saw the blood...and he walked away as if nothing had happened.
This isn't fair. He messed up the timing, therefore he deserves to get punished, not me.
Yeah that sucks, his ping was better so that's why.
There's a lot of ways to implement a good system to detect who really should get the priority, but I'm gonna tell you, as a developer myself, they just implemented the most lazy and easy way to do it, they didn't do any hard work code to solve it, they just band-aid the problem with something which won't last longer.

I forgot, what happened back then again?
You could blind the Killer or stun them with a pallet during their pick-up animations and it would make them drop the Survivor regardless.
-
@GeneralV said:
Not sure if it compares to the atrocious Patch 1.9.2, but this new stun validation is utter garbage and it needs to get fixed, or better yet, removed as soon as possible.
I don't think it's that bad. I think it's bad for most people because since the server now will care about who send the hit/stun first, for people who play the game who live away from a datacenter in their region where DBD is hosted, it's problematic,
But this is also somewhat funny, just imagine a player within 5-10 of ping, against a Killer within 40-50 of ping, this Survivor will always get the priority of pallets, it will look incredible unfair in the Killer client side, same goes for this player if he plays Killer with such little ping.
-
Basically, the player with the best ping have priority, accoring to their post, in some words, they said: "The server will judge these two conditions:
- The Survivor dropped a pallet, and has a stun event to send to the server
- The Killer hits a Survivor and has a pending hit to send to the server
So, the server will only allow one thing to happen: Either you drop a pallet and stun the Killer without being hit, or you drop a pallet, stun the Killer and get hit.
The first one who comes (Stun event or Hit event) will be selected, and the second will be rejected."
This change is great because high ping Killer won't land unfair hits on Survivors. It looks unfair sometimes but I think it's a great band-aid fix for pallet hits.

Oh. The other reasonable answer then is the fact that you logged AFTER the penalty was over.
That might be true, I don't remember how much I waited to log in, but at least I had memories of logging right away.

I think that's because DC penalty isn't entirely on? Unless it did get re-enabled recently.
No, it happened like 3-4 months ago.
-
I think you need to put some hours in DBD before coming to the forums to say something about one of the most needed, balanced and counterable perks.
-

They can do the same now, so not that much of a difference.
It's not the same. You don't get penalized for forcing your game to close during the loading screen (my computer turned off during a loading screen because there was a power fault, while I logged back, I didn't get penalized)
And the lock is just temporary, it will be enabled soon.
-
I heard somewhere that a dev said they can't implement that because of the way the UI was designed, so in order for them to implement this, they will need to change the UI first, so yeah, it will take some time, even tho the game is out for 5 years, such basic QoL isn't present.
It's not hard to iterate through an Array of strings and check if (perk in array.contains(what the person is searching)) get the results and render them to the box on the UI, but yeah(this is just a example, the perk are probably objects like classes, but still, they're probably stored in a list).
I guess the difficulty comes from the UI itself like they said. The UI isn't flexible to implement this or they managed to create a UI which is bad to maintain(which is the real reason I guess, the menu UI hasn't changed in 5 years, it was made when the game was a bug mess and the devs were probably new to the scenario of creating a game)

High risk, very high reward.
No need to change
*laughs in Hex: Blood Favor*

Then people will just ALT + F4 if they get a map they don't like.
-
Yes it it different, you don't share the same cable as he does.
There's a lot of thing which can interfere with the packet speed reaching the datacenter of your region where DBD is hosted. Like:
- Your hardware probably is not the same as your friend
- Your Windows isn't the same as your friends
- Your programms running in background are not the same
- The cable which provides network can be different
See? There's a lot of things which interfere, it's obvious your computer within your files, programs and hardware are not the same, we're talking about milliseconds here, they can variate too much because of any single thing I mentioned. Your ping wouldn't be the same even if both were connected to the same network.
-
The game is out for 5 years and we still don't have a basic UI to search for perks, imagine a automatic bloodweb progress.
-
I don't even want to face one with just 1 regular traps, imagine more than 1.
-
Also YouTube allows you to edit the uploaded video too, just go yo YouTube Studio. You can cut parts not related to the topic and let only parts of the video that need to be seen.

Because it was way too easy to be successful with minimal effort. Just thrown on Whispers, BBQ, Ruin, and whatever else. Zip over to where whispers is going off, 1 hit down someone with saw, hook, see other survivor with BBQ, zip to him, 1 hit down with saw, hook, BBQ, repeat until done. The saw needed a cooldown.
It's not like that. Survivor have something called "looping mechanic". Billy also has a learning curve to his power, so to master him you would need a lot of hours on him.
"Minimal effort" then I sure you can do great with him against 4 decent Survivors? With ANY Killer the situation of "hook one person and go for another one" applies, because potato Survivor don't loop, they just go down and come here in the forums to cry on how OP a Killer which has a lot of counterplay is OP.

That's.. bruh, unlucky xD
-
Well this is a common story which happens a lot against potato Killers.
Not so common to happen against competent Killers with some good hours.
-
P3 to rank 50 yes it is reasonable with the correct build to farm points every match.
But reaching P3 50 with all perks is something which will take SOOOOOOOOOO much time from the start.
-
P3 Claudette + Iron WIll
There you go.
-
No, this makes no sense. For Killer, I always get at least 1 cake for each Bloodweb and most of the times I get 2 or 3.
As for Survivor, I don't level up them too much cuz it's not worth getting cakes on Survivor since you can get more points as KIller, but it's just RNG, you're unlucky that's all.
-
It's the price for having a ranged attack. If you infect them first, you can get them on windows and pallets, and that's great because it denies most of the loops. So I think it's a fair trade.

You just defined the Trickster problem, it takes too long to take down a survivor because of how difficult it is to hit them with the blades. Trickster is an incredibly nerfed Huntress.
Exactly! This is why this buff was huge for him. How can you call this buff a joke when it cuts his chase time A LOT.
-
They actually requires skill to play against at least, and the Survivor needs to know what he's doing, instead of just running in circles mindless and throwing pallets when the Killer is close.
Some of them are sure hard to play against when the Killer is good, but you are not supposed to win every chase.
-
Stacked together in the pile of "We'll touch this perk in another time(never), until then, ######### you"
Don't they have number of how used a certain perk is used? I'm pretty sure if it does, it's sitting in the bottom of 1%, and only because people like to meme around sometimes, otherwise that would be way lower.
-
I did played Trickster a lot with his add-ons that reduces knives by 1 to explode the passive, and that was HUGE.
You need to know when to use knifes now, for example, if you see that a Survivor is going to break LoS and you'll take some time to get their vision again, don't lose your speed by winding up and throwing knives, wait for a better position.
So you need to be smart when to use your knives in all scenarios. And his buff is huge, most 90% of the time you will be able to explode the passive and even if you losed 1 because of 10 seconds, it still applies pressure to the Survivor being chased and after regaining LoS you'll probaly have the chance to land more of them.

The most I've gotten even with farming is like 150k. And that's been rare because farming killers tend to find me at the end.
Why don't you then play AS the Killer? It's always guaranted at least 60k of BPS per match.
Also the event is just a ctrl c + ctrl v from past events.

Are u guys Brazilian too?

Don't prestige increases your chance of better items? Maybe it counts towards event offerings.
I'm getting almost at least 1 for each bloodweb, with my P3 characters.

There’s no reason to tunnel anyone. As killer you’re faster, you have lunge, many have range attacks, Noed, bbq, Tinkerer, etc. All of those trump anything a survivor could bring or do. Sorry, I know that’s not popular opinion on here, but it is the facts.
It's not tunneling my friend. If a Survivor with borrowed effect tries to bodyblock, and the Killer is smart to wait for it or can follow up after hitting, then they should do it. It's a smart move.
You're really a Survivor main aren't you? You say it like the Killer should always plays nice, but then the other way around isn't the same, which is Survivor rushing gens and not caring about the Killer fun.
It's funny I can the same thing as a Killer main: "There's no reason to genrush any Killer. As a Survivor, you have 3rd person view, you can crouch, you can vault windows and drop pallets, perks like dead hard, adrenaline, decisive. All of those trumps anything a Killer could do. Sorry, I know that's a popular opinion on here, but it's the facts"
-
If I'm playing KIller and at least 2 Survivors indicate their desire to farm, I will farm with them, otherwise I will just play normal. Same when I play Survivor. That of course it's because I need points.
If I had already everything maxed out, I would probably not farm and just play with meme builds or something like that.

Except when bhvr says "No more exclusive cosmetics" before releasing exclusive charms and now apparently cosmetics
I heard something about it, was it published in their social medias or it was just said during some dev streams? Because I'm pretty sure if it was not officialy said "We're not going to create more exclusive cosmetics from now on", then they can do it without worrying about going back in their statement.

which is kinda lame innit? we're back to having event exclusives, only they're really ugly and no one ever uses them. would rather have well-designed exclusives like the hound mask to grind for than crowns.
but...meh.
Exclusives are not bad!
They were bad during that time when people used to sell code for "exclusive" cosmetics, which thats why they made available all skins from past events and codes too. Limited cosmetics should be a thing to show off how much you played the game.
-
Well to be honest it's very obvious the ones you can get. Only original characters created by the DBD team can earn the Crowns.
-
You only have 1 post so I assume you're a new player that only played Survivor so far, so lets go by the basic explanation.
Pig is not a very strong Killer, she's just a basic Killer that can only damage Survivors with her basic attack and her dash attack which is not useful most of the time. Her Traps helps her to apply pressure into Survivors, it's why she has this power, to slowdown Survivor for a limited amount of time and help her do something.
Mending is a common mechanic that can be trigged in multiple ways, so it's not a problem to pause it. Pausing the timers from Hats will just give more freedom for Survivors and weaken her even more.
Another thing, since most new players think this way. There's another person on the other side playing as the Killer, so the game must be balanced so that both sides can have some fun. This game isn't supposed to give free chances for Survivors and help them escape the game.
-
You can grabs Crowns with licenced characters but like the guy said above, you don't the the cosmetic, just the bps.
You unluck the Crown for only that specific character you played, so you need to play with each one and get them.
-
Tunneling is not something new, it's always has been a strategy since 2016. You just got unlucky to get multiple matches against people using this method.
-
There's only 2 fair and balanced options:
- Keep it as hex perk but remove the cooldown
- Remove as a hex perk but keep the cooldown.
-
I've tested this with 2 DBDs opened on my computer, and It looks like the problem is only client-side. In your screen it may be not playing any injured sound but for the others it is playing.
-
I don't think they'll do that. It would require too much work, bug testing and other things to implement a separate slot for special cosmetic slots. I would like too, but it won't happen for now.
-
"We will now only focus on more important events and dedicate our time to them"
*decides to recycle last year event with nothing new*
-
It is busted of course. Most people think they're good at chases, then they play a match without DH and see they weren't all that they think they are, this including myself. But then you think "Well I'm gonna play without it because I don't want to rely on a perk to be good", then you get frusted for being downed in situations where you think "If I had dead hard", and you can't stop using it.
This perk needs to have some work in order to use it.
-
It happened to me. I was playing against a Demogorgon, and there was no chase music, only the heartbeat and his cute footsteps sounds.
Clearly it's a bug, a good one tho, it makes you more relaxed.
-
And the reward is like 30.000 of BPs? I assume so.
If the reward was like, 100.000, I wouldn't mind.
-

Your post is really great but I guess people didn't played enough him to give their opinions, I'm one of them.
Well I didn't played a SINGLE match with him (Huntress main xD), but the speed boost for just infecting shouldn't be a thing, it should be on damage only. Like Plague you don't get speedboost when going injured from Vile Purge.
I will dedicate my time playing with him and create my base of what I think of him.

Adding coms isn't going to stop toxic people from being toxic. We all already deal with hate messages in this game.
Coms, however, will give people the ability to communicate and hopefully have more fun/engaging matches.
Adding coms doesn't mean everyone has to be on coms 24/7. You can choose to leave coms off if that is your thing, or... and I know this may shock you, but if someone is flaming and being a bully in chat... there is a mute button.
Not adding positive things to a game because jerks exist is backwards thinking. There will always be jerks, but that shouldn't stop me from being able to talk, meet people, and coordinate with my team.
I agree with you, but If I'm playing an online game and someone calls me "Hey you piece of ######### do something, your mon is a #########", I will mute him but then my mood will already be affected, and it will affect my entire gameplay. Some people care, some don't, so they choose to do not allow this to happen.
-
@FancyMrB said:
Adding game coms or a chat wheel would fix solo q. Idk why the devs have not done this yet.
@GuyFawx said:
If they added voice chat in game that could fix solo q tho that would probably be concidered too powerful
They don't because it's a online "competitive" gameplay. There would be alot of kids screaming and saying ######### to each other, and it would just incentive bad behavior. People will just say bad things because someone did something wrong and they will start to yell at each other.
Why do you guys think league of legends don't enable voice communication in solo queue? You can only voice with your premade friends, which then isn't a problem.
-
The only thing one side have which the other don't is communication, and that can be resolved by simply adding a wheel of pre-made messages to say "I'm being chased", "The Killer is near me", "I'm going for the save", and much other messages, that will make a massive change to improve solo. It's not equals or better than voice communication, but it improves the game for like, 80%.
-
You can farm a lot of them, like people are saying, 100, 500, 1000. It all depends on how much you want to dedicate your time to play and farm.
Normally there's always a 80%(fake number, means high chance) of a cake will show up in your bloodweb, and most of the time it spawns 2, and in ALL brown mystery boxes, they also rewards another cake. So in sum, you can get 3 cakes in one bloodweb. And it's not rare, mystery boxes shows up all the time so It's almost guaranteed 2 cakes per bloodweb.
