If both survs have kindred, they'll still see the killers aura btw.
For me it's still good enough. Guess this is how "baskit kindred" would look like.
-
Deadlock doesn't really synergize with Eruption. And Deadlock / DMS can be countered.
The real problem is Eruption in solo queue.
-
Really hard to track because technically you're still solo, even when matched with 2 or 3 SWFs.
-
You got alot free BPs from the killer and now you ask to get him banned?
For me it just sounds like a killer with not so many hours.
-
@Pulsar said:
Because most people don't have time to do that.
Most players are casual. They play a couple hours a week. They want to log on and have fun, if the game requires them to put in hundreds of hours in order to have a semi-okay experience, they'll just move on.
If the game isn't fun for most of your playerbase, it will die.
You can have fun and get alot of points, but still lose most of the matches, over and over again.
So no, whenever i hear "fun" in DBD, what it really means is TO WIN. And sadly, most of the times AS EASY AS POSSIBLE (that goes for both sides).
-
In short: Why not all shacks have a breakable wall?
-
No Eruption and no excaution perks on surv.
When you're used to it, you don't really need sprint perks anyway. Windows alone can be way more beneficial, imo.
-
I always run Kindred. For me it's bugged since the last patch, def not since months.
-
Only 2 survs who equiped Kindred will be able to see the killers aura, it's a bug.
But the information is still good enough for me to know were my solo mates are and to see who or who not is going for the save.
-
Better don't get used to slug builds.
When mini Unbreakable basekit hits the live version, this strat won't work anymore.
-
Option 1) Try to get the banner or the unhook when the guard is a bit away. It helps when you played stealth games before where it's important to remember patrol ways from the KI and find the perfect sneak around sweatspot.
Option 2) Wait it out or go for the save with 2 mates. (1 mate need to kite the guard away)
Option 3) Don't go for the save and hope your team does, DO GENS! (Kindred can help here)
Option 4) Bring Reassurance to make sure the hooked surv doesn't go into the next hook state when you mess it up.
-
Killers playing normaly during an event = toxic? How is slugging, tunneling or camping toxic? These are just strategies as killers never know what caliber of survs they verse when the game starts. Also these strats will more likely be used when the killer sees multiple items, quickswitching survs and/or using boosted map offerings.

Yeah I have it all adjusted & preset on the game mode picture, which also helps with performance. Not exactly sure what the internal settings are in that mode but can definitely see a difference in things like skill checks. Other modes there seemed to be a slight delay in skill checks.
On most TVs game mode will give you less input lag, that's not an issue. On my LG there's also a BOOST MODE to have even less input lag.
But when it comes to brightness there's a reason i'm still forced to use Windows of Oppurtunity as many maps got so dark after the map reworks. And with the latest chapter pallets are even harder to see (on both sides).
-
That's why i like Pain Res, just let go from the gen when you see the hook animation. That's why some killers started to pair it with Fearmonger.
But Eruption? Only way to counter is to start working on a new gen, having line of sight to the chased surv while on a gen, beeing lucky or playing on comms. Gen tapping doesn't really give you progress anymore, i tried that. ^^
-
Eruption alone is ok. But paired with 3 other synergizing (gen slow down) perks on strong, experienced killers it becomes OP.
Especially vs. solo queue as SWFs can just call out when they're going down so the gen jockeys can counter it.

Well that's not true. I have my TV settings adjusted using all the standard adjustments & all the other settings that adjust gamma, warmth, hue, colour balance, HDR etc etc. My TV is significantly brighter and I've boosted the reds to make scratch marks more visible. I also have DBD on my laptop and the difference between my console & laptop is huge. The laptop I can barely see on certain maps.
The only settings what might work for DBD are gamma (for brightness) and colour balance (more red to see scratchmarks and red stain better). Colour temperature and HDR won't matter. And brightness (in my case OLED brightness) just makes everything brighter, which you don't really want.
Did you calibrated a certain TV mode just for DBD, switching to this mode everytime you play DBD?
-
The better question would be: How much time would it take... just spending the points in the bloodweb.

Its called adjusting your TV settings 😂
There's not really a difference between modern TVs and PC monitors when it comes to these settings.
Why do you think PC players don't just increase brightness via their monitors? It doesn't work for DBD, that's why they have to do it via Nvidea settings, ingame graphic settings and/or using filters. Which we all doesn't have on consoles.

Trick is to just don't take chances and never walk into grass
If that means you'll get hit just take it and hold w to a place you checked that doesn't have traps (like completed generators)
It sounds silly but it's surprisingly effective
I do this already as holding W is strong vs. any killer.
For me the strenght of Trapper is the survs fear of traps, as they're just too scared to loop normaly.
And i kinda stopped looking for traps. Cuz no matter how carefully (and slow) i walk, when there is grass i get trapped anyway in the process.
Also traps placed directly IN pallets are a nightmare for console players. Takes ages do disarm them and not drop the pallet.
-
Trapper is the only killer i fear, as the game is dark as intended on console and there's no way to increase brightness.
Can't really loop vs. Trapper, traps could be everywere. And if there is grass i just can't see them.
-
Maybe they finally realized SWFs will always have an advantage, no matter how they buff solos.
As every buff for solos was just another buff for SWFs aswell so far. (Mini BT basekit and mini UB basekit soon)
-
System would be fine... if we would have more spreaded servers. Take russia for example. The closest server is Frankfurt, Germany!
-
Best advice i can give: Turn off endgame chat and have fun.
-
Frankfurt seems to be the closest server to russia, which really isn't optimal. Anyway, cya in a few weeks / months.
-
Survs want multiple and long chases, preferably starting each chase with full health.
But what they (really) want even more is... to win the game. Which is fine, as killer i want this too.
-
I miss the old map graphics sometimes. Imagine offerings for that.
-
First, please don't call them hacks / hacker. We're talking about downloading cheats, which takes no skill at all.
I can see BHVR actually did something and it worked, which is good. Can't really tell about subtle cheats, but at least i didn't experienced any obvious cheats since weeks. Until yesterday when i had a "jumping" David in my team. Report and go on. Aura perks on both sides can help to expose them when you're seriously report them with clips.
And pls guys, when you're matched with a cheater... DON'T give them attention, this is all they want! Just finish the gens and leave asap.
As killer there's is nothing you can do anyway, you're not supposed to win vs. a cheater. Luckily i heard you don't need to wait 2 hours anymore when a cheater is holding you hostage and the game finally ends with the EGC. At least i hope this is already implemented.
-
Fast queue times. At any time.
-
Most of the time killers who tunnel/camp/slug strategically will win (getting at least 3 kills) while killers who play "fair" either get the same result or draw (just 2 kills). Main problem is that survs will also complain and insult, even the killer played fair. So i totally get why killers don't care anymore. Why should they care about survs fun when survs don't care about killers fun?

Or they could just AFK. I love a plan so easily defeated by the target having to do...nothing.
Also, the DC penalty, both duration and frequency, has been greatly lowered due to the amount of issues in the game currently, so it's not really a thing at the moment.
Either way, if the person wants out, the rest of survivors are going to three-man it whether they want to or not. If I can't take the hook out I usually just AFK at a hook or on the ground and watch some Netflix or Youtube. Or take the penalty and play some bot games with a killer I need practice on until it expires.
I'm fairly sure someone willing to take any penalty to leave isn't concerned about the hatch. It is fun to get hooked at the end, have the killer run off to find the hatch, get lucky (?) and hop off the hook and find the hatch first, though. Standing on it till the killer shows up, letting them down you, and still escaping is nice salty icing.
As others have said, keeping them alive to annoy the killer/other survivors tends to not be worth it, but hey, you do you booboo.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282842#Comment_3282842
DC penalties are heavily reduced at the moment. As I said above, matchmaking penalties don't prohibit you playing bot games while waiting, or loading up another game to play while waiting, if it somehow does run long. The timeout may be something that would annoy you, but for people that quit trials it's a non-issue. I think that's what people like the OP who are on a crusade tend to overlook or willfully ignore. If it ever amounted to an annoyance to the person that quit, it's so mild as to be forgotten a few seconds later.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282918#Comment_3282918
As EQWashu verified above, killing yourself on a hook is not a reportable offense and only serves to clog up the CSRs from processing tickets. I'm not sure what the penalty is for spamming reports for something not reportable, but now I'm curious.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282972#Comment_3282972
This is also Plan B for me, if I'm feeling feisty. Follow other survivors leaving scratch marks, fast interact everything, miss skill checks, etc. Either the killer will come and hook me again or catch the survivor who unhooked me. If a person is obviously suiciding out, best to just let them. Nothing positive is going to happen in any way by unhooking them. The headache is not worth the cheap BPs.
Players who DC or kill themselfes often on hook should be flagged or beeing matched with eachother.
That's why i keep reporting them, because it IS unsportsmanlike.
The only reason why this isn't a thing yet are perks like Slippery Meat and Deliverence, hard to track i guess.

And here I am, just spending bloodpoints on one character and switching last second to the one I want to play, getting tunneled out of the game for "toxic last second item switching" ...
Just equip items for both chars then.

No, it shouldnt. Its a pvp game. In Souls-like games its ok, if i die 99 times and then win. But i dont want to be the boss/killer who kills you 99 out of 100 times bc i have the advantage. Thats so boring. I want to be challenged as killer.
If you don't feel playing killer is challening, you're MMR is just too low. Or you're a nurse main.

@EQWashu said:
As versacefang mentioned above, a person choosing to go through all the hook states and be sacrificed on first hook is not a reportable offense. Getting reports for things like this, as well as things listed as NOT reportable, keep the ACMs from reports for things that are reportable and bannable. For information on what is and is not reportable, you can find them here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
I love using Reassurance on them in these scenarios. And i still do ingame reports EVERY SINGLE TIME when someone DCs or kills him/herself early in the game. Because i can't think of any less unsportsmanlike action.
-
At the end it's just both sides playing their objectives. And the higher your MMR is, the more efficient you NEED to play if you want to win.

Why can a killer see the survivors before a match? Why do they get time to adjust their build based on what they see awaiting them in the game… yet, survivors can not adjust their build because we have no idea who the killer is going to be.
Killer sees lots of flashlights, cool let me add Lightborn. Killer sees lots of toolkits, let me throw on another Gen regression perk. Med kits? Maybe a bit of Sloppy.
I get that survivors shouldn't see the killer because there would be so much dodging. But that doesn’t mean the killer should be able to see the survivors.
While I’m on the subject, I don’t understand why Console can still not go anonymous? It was there, it worked and got removed. I don’t get it.
And still, survs can quickswitch in the lobby at any time while killers can do the same, but can't change the killer they're playing.
Also i'm on Xbox Series X and i still can choose anon/streamer mode at any time.
-
Main difference for me would be playing with or without addons.
-
Let me say it this way: Escaping should be an exception, something special, something to be proud about and NOT common - even if it's just the hatch. So yes, killrates should be always higher than escape rates. And i think they're fine in solo queue since the latest, big balance update.
-
What if you got fully healed, did no conspicuous actions with OTR and the killer has insta downs from perks or powers?
Not 100% sure on that...
-
Gens. (That's why the killer needs to tunnel)
-
Survs doing dull totems for archives (i guess).
Wasting time, not even having Inner Healing or any cleansing perk / map, to at least prevent NOED.
-
Feels like 70% of the time i don't see where my mates are beeing chased / downed.
Guess i'm gonna try BOND + maybe even Open Handed to at least try to counter Eruption.
As Calm Spirit isn't an option here, right?
-
Most important: Split up and don't DC / #########. From here it's just training.
-
Copied from the perk description: ("... all affected Generators explode and start regressing ...")
So it wasn't a (shadow) buff, now it just works as intended.

Survivor Bots in custom, not the "husks". No idea if they even have any plans in that regard for normal games.
Would be such a waste of resources if they would just be used for tutorials.
Reason might be surv bots need to act different to each killer (power).
So as long as we don't have every killer to play in the tutorial we have to wait for that.
-

Needs more blood and maybe a chair
For the killer, yeah.

Thought they implemented bots already with the new chapter. Last night 1 surv DCd and nothing happenend.
Guess i was wrong. Any info/news on that?
-
Eruption needs to be changed against SWFs (as they can just callout when they're close to getting downed), not nerfed. Should work aditionial for survs beeing close to a gen (like max. 2-4 m radius) so they can't just let go from the gen. Same for Pain Res btw. Because let go from Pain Res is already a counter and works for both solos and SWFs.
-
The only problems for me are Eruption and Pentimento builds. And it's simple to tell why as i mostly play solo.
Solos can't callout when they're almost going down so there is no real counter to Eruption. Solos do archives or cleanse everthing which glows or just do dull totems for Inner Healing, you can't stop that. At least at my level my mates let go from the gen against Pain Res.
-
First thing i thought: KRATOS!
-
Better items, offerings and addons. That's it.
That's why i stopped leveling. All you need is Prestige 3 on everyone.
Everthing else is just a waste of time in the bloodweb for me as i just wanna play.
