Don't even need to spend real money on him, just "buy" him with shards (playtime).
-
That happend even before this chapter since the last big patch for me (XSX). Thought they fixed it, but no.
-
Pretty sure there're more console players overall, EU and NA.
Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S/X, Play Station 4, Playstation 4 Pro, Play Station 5 and the Switch.

Question is: Will now every game be counted for stats, unless the killer DCs?
And yes, esp. as a solo i highly appriciate bots, even i don't know how good they're yet. From what i've seen in the tuturial, they're already better than some players. And having them over just having a 3v1 is def a good addition.

No, a filler connects you to other loops across the map, this one guarantees you get hit unless the killer makes an absolute mess of it. Connecting/filler pallets don't guarantee hits, you just take a big risk if you drop them and try to play them and you have to win the mindgame - which is fine as mindgames are a fun aspect.
There is no mindgame here, you take a hit regardless
Most of the time there're other tiles close. And this can be a even better filler pallet, depending on far the killer is.
You can even pre-drop it and create your own loop. It's just weak when it spawns in a deadzone.
-
Before crossplay i had my account open to messages, just for entertainment.
And now with crossplay, it's very rare i get matched with other Xbox Series X players.
When it comes to toxicity, plattforms doesn't matter anyway. So i'm happy i can't even see the ingame chat.
But still, almost everytime i play killer and there's a another Xbox player, they'll complain via PN about anything.
-
Sneaking around in the corners of the map and start running when i heard terror radius, right into a chainsaw. :D
-
Pentimento or Eruption builds in solo queue.
Going down 1 meter behind a window or in a pallet.
Self unhooks.
-
Eruption is fine, just not for solos as SWFs can call out "I'm gonna down, let go from the gen NOW".
-
This "tile" is what we call a filler pallet. Can be still strong, but just against 110% movespeed killers (esp. vs Huntress).

They they'll just switch at 16s instead of 6s.
Then it should only count for survs. 16 secs. are enough time for the killer to adapt to.
-
Problem is how survs are still able to quickswitch. Not just by switching chars, now we have loadouts aswell.
And killers only can switch builds, but not to another killer.
Easy solution: When the lobby countdown hits that point where no one can hit ready anymore (at like 15 secs. left), both sides can't switch anything anymore.

I mean... making usefull functions as perks and not as basekit of survivor is way more of a bandaid fix than just making it available for everyone and balancing around it...
You mean like basekit BT, the solo buff which buffed SWFs aswell?
-
I like how there're already perks to equip to counter certain playstyles. Imagine using them.
Camping: Kindred, Reassurance, Kinship
Tunneling: Borrowed Time, Sprint Burst, For the People, (DS)
Slugging: Unbreakable, Soul Gard, We're Gonna Live Forever
-
Just read the topic. That's true for both sides.
-
Surprisingly, as survs can see eachothers hook states by just looking at the HUD. And if the killer can count, i'll def take a hit in solo queue. That's the good thing about MMR in solo queue. Sometimes it almost feels like playing with friends.
-
As long we have ranks or now MMR, but the same balance for everyone, DBD will be always unbalanced.
-
Stop with the basekit nonsense. It's just a clusterfix to cover the balance problems, like always.
-
Most Mikaelas act funny when they see me doing totems for Inner Healing. They crouch behind me and get really excited, some Mikaelas even seem to scratch my back by pointing and waving, so i can get the totem quicker. :)
-
Afaik the "most-eastern" DBD server is still just located in Frankfurt, Germany.
So the further away the player is located to the right of Frankfurt, the worse gets the ping.

U mean Dwight, Meg, Elodie and Haddie? 😉
Good point, lol. But i use perks to at least help them making better decisons.
-
Good thing about solo queue: At least we have a bigger variety of killers.
-
1) Most survs only know 2 words, no matter how you played: "tunnel and camp"
2) Most likely at least 1 surv will tbag in the gates, no matter how you played.
3) Most survs don't care about you having fun, so why should you care about their fun?
Remember, you are the KILLER, not a babysitter.
-
And that's why solo and SWFs icons (post game!) are a good idea.
Welp, maybe in 2024.

It was a Bubba for the times we experienced the camping instances. And it was just me and 1 friend, with 2 soloquers. Luckily I had Kindred so they could at least SEE I was being camped, so we didn't waste much time with save attempts. 1 tried for like a brief moment but Bubba scared her off. If everyone worked at MAX efficiency and all got 1 gen done while I went through both hook phases, the killer would at minimum still get a 2k--which is enough to pip in most ranks. So very low effort for relatively high reward.
Kindred, very good. Sometimes the team just need to recognize that there is no way to safe someone, esp. vs. a camping bubba. The only reason he does it is he learned THAT IT WORKS most of the time as many survs are very altruitstic. When i die like a martyr for the team, allowing them to finish the gens and get out, that's a win, at least a draw in my book.
-
Reassurance never got a nerf, it was just changed after PTB so it can't get abused anymore.
And you would be supprised how powerful it can be vs. a camping killer. If used right.
-
The only 2 excuses for not at least getting 2 man out vs. a hard camping killer are Nurse and / or playing solo.
Gens are a bit slower now without perks, yes. You need to split up on 3 different gens asap when the killer is clearly camping.
-
Topic should say: "You can't play fair as killer in high MMR"
-
Playing with 3 SWFs as a solo = me on gens all the time until they somehow managed to get downed all together.
-
When it comes to the "only 2 survs left scenerio", in 6 years i never heard a surv or killer got banned for ANYTHING.
Because the scenario itself and the hatch is the problem. The only possible bannable thing i can think of are 2 (potential) SWFs left, holding the game hostage for ages by just hiding. Easy solution would be killer gets killer instinct after survs not touching gens for like 5 minutes.
-
Nothing of the 2 scenarios is bannable.
-
Back in the days waving your arms on the hook always meant "Killer is close, do gens!".
That's how i can tell a player is a veteran or not. Best scenario is either A) or B) btw, just bring Kindred!

I can understand your mindset, because when I play killer it feels the same for me. From a survivors perspective I must say that I never know which type of player I'm currently facing. Is it a relaxed person who just wants to have a little bit fun an maybe scare some peoole or is at a 4k dude who needs the win no matter what it costs? I face the last one more often and because of that often I try everything to be fast and efficient at the beginning. I slow down, if I see that the killer has problems.
But for example when I face a scratched mirror Meyers, oh, I love it. I know this person wants to have fun and scare people. I almost forget to repair generators and want to be chased and play with him. I had such a match a few weeks ago on Midwich. And you know what? Then he starts camping and the fun was over. Just another one who needs his kills so hard. The match turns from yihaaa to awful in 1 second.
But back to your topic. Hm, I'm really not sure which advise I should give. When I try some funny, strange build I try to ignore the result. I mean, players who want to play with me should play, the others should leave as fast as possible. Ignore it, end the match, queue up again. Don't waste energy in this.
" I slow down, if I see that the killer has problems."
Believe it or not: In 6 years, this is the first time i heard such a thing from a surv.
You mean like opening chests, doing totems and... stop working on gens or do them less effectivly?

I was gonna say, this is a lot less dangerous now that we have 5s of basekit Borrowed Time. I see 'hook farming' a lot more often, and half the time it doesn't come with any downside.
It's 10 seconds basekit BT. And yes, i miss the old times as survs can just save brain afk now.
And if the killer is close it's even smarter for him to tunnel asap.
-
Remember when survs needed to learn how to safely unhook unless they had Borrowed Time?
-
If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's that simple.
-
Because now with it's shorter window it's even more ping-depended, the only reason i don't run it.
-
Oh, and btw... better don't use Discordance during events when all gens are yellow anway. Sure you still get the sound notification, but overall it will be just confusing. I also remember loving Discordance on Huntress... when it was possible to hit survs behind gens. But they nerfed the "extended" hitboxes, same with Nurses Calling. Good times. :(
/Edit: Post 666, hell yeah!
-
At the end and even more with MMR, it's just both sides playing their objectives (gens and kills) as efficient as possible.
-
There're 2 scenarios where Discordance can be bad for you tho:
1) Survs notice that you have it and they'll split to different gens
2) Getting 2 notifiacations at the same time or from a very far gen

Or they would keep voice chat on so they could use everyone else's call outs to lone wolf better, and just refuse to talk. And if survivors got action icons, they would just refuse to touch a generator unless the icons showed someone else being chased by the killer, because that is the level of excessive hiding they want to do.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3254305#Comment_3254305
One of the major problems with this game is that when there are only two survivors left, and there are a few generators left, the game can turn into a 10 or 20 minute hide and seek slog, because both of the remaining survivors refuse to touch generators, and want to wait for the other survivor to die. I get it that we want people to have playstyle options, but if BHVR wants to review unfun things like slugging, they should also look into the unfun things like survivors refusing to progress the game, because they have a higher chance of survival if they hide in some random part of the map.
We're told it's reportable if survivors refuse to progress the game, but does that really do anything? How long do survivors need to be hiding before I can report them?
Main problem with the "only 2 survs left scenario" is, the surv who actually does the objective (working on a gen or wants to be chased) WILL die in most of these scenarios. Because it's not smart. When i do it, it's mainly to finally get out of the game as i find hiding boring aswell. Same with killers slugging for the 4K. The problem here isn't the killer, the problem is the hatch.
There's a simple solution. Survivors should be revealed to the killer (by killer instinct, not auras as survs can just hide in lockers) when they didn't touch a gen for like 3 minutes. It's just too easy to avoid or work arround the "crow system" we have since DBD was released.
It's only an idea ofc, would need some tweaks.
-
I'll only turn into a "lone wolf" when my team reached a certain point in the match where it's very unlikely to finish all gens.
The longer you play, the better you'll understand when that point happens.
-
Why does it matter? When i pick or main a surv i don't even think about these things.
Ethnic groups or sexual orientation, at the end all survs are just the same, only perks matter.
Bit like in real life, where only innner values and actions should matter.
-
I got banned from a famous german streamer (not calling names ofc) by just suggestion this QoL change, adding an OPTIONAL bloodpoint spend button for each bloodweb, lol.
-
I wouldn't call 10 secs. of BT and soon even free Unbreakable not a buff for solos, it's also a buff for SWFs. What a suprise, because any buff for solos is just another free buff for SWFs on top. Even Kindred, as seeing auras is stronger then callouts. The only "buff" i see for solos would be more like a QoL change - a PING system combinded with action symbols next to the survs portraits.
-
Windows or Kindred as Survivor and Deadlock on Huntress (the only good gen defense perk left for her as i don't like the RNG of scourge hooks).
-
How do / did other asymmetrical multiplayer games deal with DCs? Like Evolve, Friday the 13th, VHS etc...
-
Perks like Sloppy and Jolt are way stronger on her. Nurse is the only killer who can use these perks with her power, just... why?
And i don't even talk about Starstruck here, at least this CAN be avoided.
-
Maybe because a good nurse equals good SWFs?
The only difference is, nurse already got changed / nerfed a few times while SWFs are untouched since they were introduced.

I noticed a red bar on top of the "ready" prompt. I think that's what indicates your ping is high.
But only as killer, right?
