No. If you want to use M/K, then play it on PC.
Even without cross-progression, there's nothing wrong with this statement. If you want to use MnK for a console, then you should buy a PC.
Whether or not you can afford it is another matter entirely, but MnK offers an overwhelming advantage over controller.

Terrible. Extra sweaty survivors and killers. Not saying everyone should just farm, but would it kill both sides to ease up just a little?

The killer is already rewarded for doing well in chase : he gets BP for it.
Now, if you want the killer to get higher MMR too, that would make no sense. Killers with high skill getting no kills is a survivor lie. It doesn’t exist, it’s called a bad killer, aka a nice killer in survivor language.
Streamers, like Otz, Truetalent, ect…are avoiding tunneling and camping because it’s not good content : it can be boring to watch and would make survivor fan base angry. But if they did it, they would win more.
They are absolutely not avoiding tunneling/camping, and in the instances that they are, the videos are heavily curated to show survivors that are just not that skilled so they have no need to camp/tunnel.
You can see in videos where the survivors are good that Otz/Tru3 camp/tunnel because they have no choice. Strong survivors require aggressive tactics. You can't hold back against survivors like that.

Floods of Rage is a great perk that can be taken advantage of by a variety of killers. I enjoy using it on Dredge, but there's absolutely no reason you couldn't use it on almost any other killer.
Call of Brine is a great perk when used in combination with Pop. Sadako is definitely worth getting just for her perks. It's also worth noting that Sadako is not inherently a bad killer, but she definitely isn't what one would consider competitive. Personally, I'd say she's below average,

But then it becomes a useless perk, you already know if a non-stealth killer is coming towards you
If a perk hard counters an entire category of killers, and would become useless if nerfed, then it's a poorly designed perk and should be reworked from the ground up.
Spine Chill should not provide action speed bonuses, nor should it hard counter stealth killers. Without their stealth ability, stealth killers are just very weak M1 killers.

Turn your camera, the closer you get before you start stalking the better anyway. Michael stalks faster the closer he is, stalking at a distance as gf gives survivors plenty of time to make distance.
Stalking from further away as Ghost Face is pretty much a necessity.

Also does the survivor get a indicator that i have it? honestly dont know
They do know. It shows up as an indicator on their screen. Still kind of a weak perk.

I have no stated that tunneling is not tunneling, please re read.
i aslo showed how proxy camping is by definition not camping even if its colloquially referred to as such.
I never said such strategies did not exist but defined them into a more accurate manner.
as i went into great deal with above, it is important when communicating to be accurate with communication. Since "tunneling" has multiple different forms and presumably the gripe with tunneling isnt with EVERY form of tunneling, but with a particular type of tunneling then its important to use SPECIFIC terms to denote what exactly you are talking about.
When someone says tunneling is bad, do they mean ALL forms of tunneling and if they mean a specific kind of it then we need to have a term that denotes that.
but as it stands people just throw terms around willy nilly instead of attempting to be more accurate with what they say.
Your not being tunneled. a killer's making an intelligent decision and going for someone who is injured near you in many cases a good idea. Not always but often it is.
This is saying that tunneling is not actually tunneling.
I have often been accused of camping when i hook someone literally travel to check 1 or 2 gens and patrol back to hook, then go away do the same until the unhook.
This is proxy camping. Proxy camping is a form of camping. The definition you use for camping works for games like Call of Duty, not so much for Dead by Daylight.
Tunneling is when EVERYONE else is ignored the whole game till the killer gets you out. this is RARE. (again speaking from someone who plays in NA)
Tunneling does NOT exist when 3 gens have been done. when there are 2 gens done the killer needs to get outs.(and 3 gens are often done in the first few mins depending on a few variables)
This is tunneling, and then you expressly state that tunneling ceases to exist when 3 gens are done. They're contradictory statements.
This forum constantly whines about camping and tunneling and i have seen time and time again what people claim is tunneling and camping. And your not being either.
This argument implies that people are mistakenly calling these valid strategies tunneling and camping.
When 2 or less gens are left there is no camping or tunneling, it makes zero sense.
And once again, you are saying that tunneling and camping cease to exist at 2 gens.
There is actual camping and actual tunneling and i am 100% confident that 95% of these complaints arent either of those.
You redefined tunneling and camping to suit your argument because you disagree with 95% of those complaints.
Tunneling is very simple. If you're targeting someone who's just been unhooked, you're tunneling. Anything beyond that is irrelevant.
Camping is also very simple. I'll break it down into three types.
- If you're not moving away from the hooked survivor, then you're Face Camping.
- If you're patroling from the hooked survivor (Point A) to an area a short distance away (Point B) and back again, you're Proxy Camping.
- If you're staying close to the hooked survivor with Insidious or a killer power that grants undetectable, or you're just hanging about in general, then you're Camping.
Generally, people can't agree on what constitutes tunneling but they can agree on what isn't tunneling.
-
All tunneling and camping is fair. They're valid strategies. They are boring and frustrating, but fair and valid all the same.
Proxy camping is still camping, regardless of definition. Tunneling is still tunneling, regardless of when it happens.
You've gone out of your way to state that tunneling is not tunneling, it's just the killer making an intelligent decision. You've gone out of your way to say that proxy camping isn't camping because you're going from A to B, then back again. Because it's just playing SMART.
You can't argue that these strategies do not exist because you want to redefine them to fit your argument. You don't have to avoid using these strategies. It's entirely up to you how you want to play.

Okay, so with this definition of Proxy Camping it's pretty clear that there is nothing wrong with Proxy Camping as it is most definitely not Face Camping. The Devs have stated that they're looking at ways to discourage Face Camping but have no issues with Proxy Camping.
So we're all agreed that Proxy Camping is legit and fine yes?
It's a legitimate strategy, albeit annoying and boring. Everyone should play how they want, but at the same time they should expect their opposition to be unhappy. Killers want to win, and survivors want to win. Neither side is going to be tickled pink about losing.

what is this as yet undetermined radius?
And how is one to know when they have crossed this invisible threshold?
It's not really undefined. It's not proxy camping if you're too far from the hook to make it back to prevent or interrupt a rescue. It is proxy camping if you're patroling back and forth between the hooked survivor and a couple of nearby gens.
You basically defined the radius yourself with this paragraph:
I have often been accused of camping when i hook someone literally travel to check 1 or 2 gens and patrol back to hook, then go away do the same until the unhook. I time this in such a way that I can add pressure to a solid portion of the map and time that when the save happens i can end up close by or at least on the way.
You wouldn't be able to end up close by if you were patroling a far distance away, so logic dictates that it needs to be close enough that it doesn't take long to go from A to B and back again.

camping has a clear definition and if you read the thread i provided the definition of camping in the context of video games. It BY DEFINITION is not camping unless you do not leave the hook at all. IME the vast majority of killers leave the hook. they dont just sit there. them returning to the hook later to check on the hooks area is NOT camping. Words have meanings.
and tunneling what the term is supposed to refer to is misused and applied to any consecutive down ime. 5 gen tunneling is also IME very rare.
Did you have anything constructive you wanted to add to the conversation or were you just giddy to try out a snarky comment?
Proxy camping is still camping. Patroling a specific radius around the hooked survivor is still camping. It's why we have terms like proxy camping and face camping.

lol I played a SWF game where, instead of leaving, a teammate I had unhooked decided he just HAD to use his DS.
I was down on the ground because the Killer had NOED, and I got hit as soon as I unhooked my teammate. The teammate got hit, but I gave him BT, so he ran to the gate. (The gate was right next to where he had been hooked so he had a guaranteed out.) The hatch was right by the hook so I crawled to it. The others on comms were laughing and yelling at him, "Go! Leave!" (because if he left, the hatch would open instantly and we would've had a four man escape). And he, not thinking, yelled, "I have to get my DS!" So he tea bagged in the gate, got downed, missed his DS, and the Killer brought him right back to the same hook. Then the Killer hooked me, my first hook of the game, and I died.
We still make fun of him.
And yes, he deserved it (what the Killer did and getting made fun of by us).
Yeah, my friend has been in at least a few a situations like that where we could've gotten a 4E, but he just had to stay back so he could DS the killer, only for him to miss his DS.

I will preface this by saying maybe in your part of the world players play differently but I am in NA and this is my experience as someone who plays both sides.
This forum constantly whines about camping and tunneling and i have seen time and time again what people claim is tunneling and camping. And your not being either.
vast majority of killers dont face camp. Not at mid to high mmr. if your being facecamped your probably a bad survivor and dealing with new killers. I get a face camper 1 out 50 something matches. And thats usually when a killer was ran around all game and you can tell they are frustrated.
proxy camping is not camping and is a 100% good and viable strategy.
I have often been accused of camping when i hook someone literally travel to check 1 or 2 gens and patrol back to hook, then go away do the same until the unhook. I time this in such a way that I can add pressure to a solid portion of the map and time that when the save happens i can end up close by or at least on the way. This is SMART gameplay. there are 2 people not on hooks with at least 1 injured, that i can get a trade on, or get the unhooked right back down and possibly pressure a second or third person right off hook.
or sure i can let every unhook be safe and have them heal up and start all over again. Im going to make the strategically sound decision, not handicap myself for no good reason.
Yet I have been accused of camping many many times for literally leaving the hook and often getting a hit on someone else.
Your not being tunneled. a killer's making an intelligent decision and going for someone who is injured near you in many cases a good idea. Not always but often it is.
Often times survivors make bad decisions or just end up popping up in front of me as im moving across the map. you think im not gonna go for you? lol
You wanna complain that it sucks getting taken out in the first 5 mins of the game. sure i get that, but almost 50% of games are over in 7 mins or less. Time is not on the killers side if half decent survivors know how to juggle gens and run tiles. This game has waaaaay too many safe tiles to run. 30 seconds to run a surv down off a loop is up to 30 seconds gens are worked on.
Its very common that by the time you get 1 surv down especially if they know how to run, that 1-2 gens get done in that first hook. The killer now has only 3 gens left and 11 hooks to go assuming survivors want their 12 hook match. Your wanting the killer to play like an idiot and play in and inefficient and tactically inferior way?
every may has at least 1 double L tile(frankly they are unmindgamable with any m1 killer without a mistake being made and im of the opinion the "L" part on one or both sides needs to be removed to stop that being an infinite, every map has at least one infinite window or double window vault and the majority of pallet loops are big and a time waste to mind game, there should be less safe loops and more 50/50 to unsafe pallets and shack, which is a huge waste of time for many killers.
decent survs should be able to pull at least 30-45 seconds off every chase and they often can get 60 seconds plus if a map gives them chained tiles and a pallet every 6 feet. This doesnt include the time to take to hook which could be a 2 second trip or a 15 second trip and then your travel time to a new generator/surv.
Whether you like it or not the reality of this game is that there is no luxury of time to just have a nice fun chase, if i had time to do a 2-3 minutes chase ona surv, i would love it. Mind games and loops are great enjoyment, but when your in a chase you have to end it as fast as you possibly can because up to 3 other gens are being crushed out while your traverse the infinites and 10 pallets. This doesnt include the huge amount of second chance perks used, whicha re strong enough that many of them have close to 50-100% use rates on a team. All of which extends things even farther.
When 2 or less gens are left there is no camping or tunneling, it makes zero sense. When 2 or less gens are left you in most cases NEED to have SOMEONE out the game or you have a much higher chance of losing, and it is not uncommon to have 2 gens left and only 3-4 hooks out or less.
You get mad if your sacrificed in the first 5 mins but you sure dont mind ending the game in 5 mins so what exactly is the difference here?
Finally, since most players choose one of like 8 different survivors and commonly use the same skins many many games have 2-4 identical characters. Sorry im not gonna try and work out which of the 3 bills i just hooked, nor am i going to see a bill i just hooked and ignore him so i can go find someone else when i need to take the bill i just hooked out anyways.
There is actual camping and actual tunneling and i am 100% confident that 95% of these complaints arent either of those.
and please please please, instead of trying to overthrow 4chan for which community is the most toxic and vile can both sides actually talk and listen to each others issues instead of acting like real life enemies?
Survivors NEED killers and killers NEED survivors or there is no game. we can discuss the issues we have and come to mutual agreements and solutions without treating each other like garbage.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
- Proxy Camping is still camping. You are staying close to the hook so that you can easily force a trade and also tunnel the unhooked survivor at the same time.
- Being face camped has nothing to do with how good you are as survivor. That's entirely on the killer.
- Tunneling: Focusing solely on one person the entire game. Also tunneling: Deliberately choosing to go after the freshly unhooked person because they're injured and their rescuer isn't.
- Not tunneling: Hooking someone else and targeting the injured person. They had time to heal, therefore they are not being tunneled. Also not tunneling: Stumbling across the freshly unhooked survivor by chance.
- Tunneling and camping are viable and effective strategies. If that's how you want to play, then so be it, but don't expect survivors to be thrilled about it.
- Tunneling exists throughout the entire game. There is no point at which it ceases to exist. It's excusable in EGC, but even at 2 gens left, you're still probably going to lose if the survivor you're trying to get rid of is a strong looper.
- Survivors who dress the same deserve no mercy. They knew what they were doing when they did that.
- Finally, play how you want but don't ever expect your opposition to be in agreeance with or happy about your chosen strategies. At the end of the day, it's just a game. Win or lose, everyone will move onto their next match and you'll just be another number.
-
Plenty of times, and it's always the solo queues that make the mistakes.

There's a problem with that, though: Having to be in voice comms with the other players of this game. I'd rather deal with hook camping bubbas than listen to some sweaty dudebros greatly overestimating their skills every trial. The very thought makes my teeth itch.
More on-screen info would be better received (base Kindred, et al).
That's not even mentioning the fact that voice chat can't really be moderated without then having to go the extra mile to record all in-game conversations.

They're never going to fix maps or buff killers
Probably not, but that doesn't really detract from my point.
-
We've been over this time and again. Removing SWF is not the solution, and neither is letting killers choose if they want to play against SWF. The solution is to reduce map sizes, buff solo's and buff killers.
-
No. The solution needs to be in the form of map design. A large part of the reason why killers like trapper and myers struggle is due to maps being too large.
-
I agree that Nurse needs a rework. If Nurse was reworked, we could have smaller maps with more variety in terms of loops and pallets. As it stands, Nurse is actually holding the game back.
-
I don't understand why we need not only double lockers, but triple or quadruple lockers. It seems so silly and needless.
-

this thread also shows why survs want BT basekit.
Has nothing to do with camping, they want to farm unsafe unhooks more and bodyblock away every single unhook
You could quite literally just make it so they have no collision during those 12 seconds and the majority would be fine with it.

Mood. Yesterday I was playing a game where a Jeff tried to do a totem with Deep Wound and two of his teammates came over to tbag him after he fell over. It would have been hilarious if I'd been able to do anything other than stare at him and walk away. Plus, designing a unique reaction emote for each killer sounds like a really fun prospect - you could do stuff like Oni drawing his sword into a stance, Freddy taunting with a one-liner, or Myers headtilting.
I don't know about survivors Fortnite dancing, but I wouldn't say no to some new emotes across the board - maybe some stuff like a thumbs up, a thumbs down, and a scared emote.
I just want more ways to meme as a survivor, and more ways to interact with other players across the board. Killer emotes would be a nice addition to the game.

I just want to add that I used to do a thing where I wouldn’t farm if someone DCed right away, but I’d back off. I’d take it easy, “forget” to check a Gen I was pretty sure they were on, go as far from any hooks as I could, etc, etc.
You know what made me stop? Too many comments after about how bad of a killer I was that they almost won/won with a 3 man, that clearly I was boosted and yadda yadda. Now I adopt the strategy of “get everyone to the next game ASAP because we’re not going to have fun this game” and I’m not about to change it. Occasionally get people like OP who whine at me for their teammate’s ruining the game like it was my fault but that’s a lot easier to stomach and is the standard attitude rather than total lack of awareness.
On the survivor side I play mostly solo, I see what my team does. If either of the others are suiciding or clearly giving up, I’ll just die on first hook to move on, otherwise I’ll keep trying. I don’t expect the killer to take it easy on us because of the DC, not like they chose for it to happen.
I genuinely hate that terrible people have ruined this game for those of us who just want to play the game normally. I'm a console player so I don't get why PC has post-game chat if it's just going to be used to be toxic. Just doesn't make sense to me.
It seems like the reason everybody's stopped playing nice is because of toxic survivors in chat. You try to do a nice thing for them? "GGEZ Baby killer. Off yourself." You had a rough game where you just managed to eke out that 1k? "GGEZ Baby killer. Off yourself." So on and so forth.
-
Had a similar situation. Locker standoff with an infinite tombstone myers on Ormond. He tried to bait me out of the locker by hiding around the corner, so I jumped out and immediately jumped into an adjacent locker.
I got his hopes up and he was very unhappy about this. After I did this again, he decided to hook me.

Personally, I like playing against Dredge. I'm actually having fun against this killer. His anti-loop has counters that aren't just hold w. His teleporting is unique and allows him to spread pressure.
These are the killers I usually have fun playing against: Dredge, Ghostface, Pyramid Head, Huntress, Sadako. These are the killers I never have fun playing against: Spirit, Blight, Artist, Pinhead, Bubba, Billy, Wraith, Nurse, Nemesis, Legion.
The rest I'm either indifferent towards or the fun is determined by the playstyle. I've never met a Bubba who didn't tunnel and proxy camp. I've also never met a Billy who didn't cross the map just to tunnel.
Same deal with Blight, Spirit, Nemesis and Nurse. Legion isn't fun because having to constantly mend in a 30 minute game is boring.
Wraith because I've never met a Wraith who didn't use their cloaked movement speed to block vaults and pallets for free hits.
Pinhead is just frustrating to play against for multiple reasons. One being chain hunt requiring somebody to always be on box duty, two being that there are too many chains to break, and three being the button mapping.

For some reason they flashlight the locker before attempting to lock it.

Dead Hard is a problem because it extends chases. You can use it for distance or you can use it to avoid an attack that otherwise would've connected. Both of these are unfair and reward bad gameplay on the survivor side. With Dead Hard being an exhaustion perk, it can be used an infinite number of times with the only activation condition being that you need to be injured.
