    It goes both ways.

This is why players should be able to see each other's ranks in the lobby.

Yep. Thing is it would be fine going against red rank killers if my team weren't potato's

  • Killers shouldn't be able to play with bad ping.

Whenever I have a night like this, I normally take a break and play another game for a while lol. Luckily, I’ve been having pretty fun matches as of late. But I doubt that’ll last for long... 🥲

Best thing to do or hop on another game for a day or two.

I am just alt tabbed atm, waiting to bleed out because I had the audacity to spin a Pig like 10 times in a row after she tunneled everyone to death one by one- so she got mad and dropped me at the hook and is making me bleed out instead. The usual pig things.

Anyone having better luck than I am tonight?

Over the last year I introduced my friend to dbd and I'd say she's a good survivor and capable. Over the last few weeks we've been playing dbd less and less. Especially this week I have found teammates horrible! Running killers to your gen, not going for saves, ratting you out for no reason. For a while I thought that the mmr was actually improving our matches but that seems short lived.

Also I would like to add that me and my friend are team players who get saves and do gens we don't chill urban evasioning around the map so I don't know why we are getting useless teams.

    What do you mean?

It's obviously not their fault, it's TOTALLY the killer CaMpInG and TuNneLiNg them! It couldn't possibly be that they are just trading hooks infront of the killer

Haha, I don't blame killers profiting from survivors making stupid mistakes. Don't get me wrong tunneling sucks but if you're farming teammates what's expected?

  • @Marigoria said:

Agreed. I see that a lot when I have a 2/3 men SWF in my team and I'm solo. More often than not if that's at the start of the game, it's a gg.

See my comment below, I was suppose to quote your comment but it didn't work 😓

  • I've had two matches in a row where I'm working on my gen and someone goes down, so I'm like "OK, that's OK" then a second survivor goes down right on top of them and I'm like "OK, let me jump of my gen and approch quietly and see the situation" then boom third survivor is down aswell. Obviously the killer isn't gonna hook they are going to look for me and now the whole game is thrown. If I go for a save and I get injured I run the other way giving the survivor chance to get saved or I heal and come back but yeh. No common sense apparently.

  • Playing survivor can be really frustrating. A lot of the time you try your best for your team but they do the most stupid things, farming off hook infront of killer, wasting time in basement instead of doing the objective, being hooked and having two survivors working on the same gen while the third is getting chased by killer (obviously I want my team working but in the circumstance one survivor should leave the gen while the other carries on working). Also you can be a really good teammate, get saves, do gens and the other survivor will still cuck you because they're selfish. I've started playing a different online game and honestly I haven't even missed dbd. I'll play occasionally with my friend but only when theyre online on DBD.

Starting locations in this game are stupid!

How is it possible that the match just started and the killer is already on my ass. Is f...g ridiculous and unfair.

    https://youtu.be/zslHBr_gra4

To be honest it can be annoying when it happens alot to you but atleast you know you have lots of pallets and windows to work with because nobody else has used them yet. As long as your team are working on gens and you can give a good chase it's ok to go down BUT unfortunately if the team are not working it can feel very annoying to run the killer for not much pay off in game progression. If you do get chased first just try your best to buy time and use resources wisely. :)

every game when something doesn't go someone's way they will just suicide on the hook 2 mins in. then everyone else starts giving up. i asked these people why they did it and some of the answers i got were "broken killer" or someone did it because they got hooked in the basement. it's extremely petty and the fact people can get away with it because there's no penalty just makes it worse.

i only reinstalled a few games ago and i'm so tempted to uninstall again.. people like this just ruin the game for me.

I do hate when team mates do this early match. However, lets say there's two team mates left. We've both been playing well and I get found first. I let myself die so the other guy can possibly find hatch. Otherwise I would only suicide on hook if I've ran the killer for abit and absolutely nothings been done by my team mates or they let me go into second phase on my first hook.

  • Totally agree, if I feel myself getting frustrated I know it's time to take a break.

For two days now i have been facing different Bubba players who camping around mid / end game and sometimes at the start of the match.

Whoever is just trying to rescue, his chainsaw takes them down immediately and there is no way to do anything to prevent him from standing or moving from the hook.

Even though i know the implications of my choice to rescue, i did it anyway. sometimes it helped others escape and sometimes it just killed us all. not a smart move indeed.

I'm in a situation where I'm tired of dealing with them.

With all due respect to their play style, it's not fun and not fair to us at all.

In the last game when i saw that we have no chance of saving from the hook, i escaped and left them behind.

    It's frustrating and feels awful.

The question is whether players can understand and move on or it's unforgivable and that puts me on the list of selfish people?

    Also, what would you do?

If Bubba is camping hook you aren't getting the save without borrowed time and some luck. I went against a Bubba the other day who downed a survivor even though they had the borrowed time effect and he just still chainsawed them even through the sprint, it was unreal.

But yeh if I'm camped by a Bubba I just want my team to get gens and go.

  • The thing is the game doesn't really have Windows to vault except the freezer room and the green stairs.

Even with the desync issues I can barely catch up to or hit any survivors. Killers feel like they have a ball and chain wrapped around their feet and are so slow. After getting infinite looped for awhile I just stopped and let the survivors just go. Of course they decided to taunt and tbag and wouldn’t leave. Once the desync issues are fixed honestly survivors have nothing to complain about. Most Killers have to go hard and aggressive right from the get go or else get gen rushed before they even find someone. Most killers seem to have been nerfed to the point you can just laugh at them, which now most survivors do. It’s just depressing really the sorry state of this game. Nothing about the Killers feels right and I can’t even get one kill lately. If the survivors are only halfway decent they can run roughshot over killers. I was mostly a survivor main but have been trying out killer lately. It’s not fun really. Just stressful and all around toxic.

Are you seriously writing a post saying that the game should keep those issues?! 😂😂 Go play something else. Please.

  • @linancy said:

I played 5 matches today and in every match something felt off.

In the first minute of the game i get tunneled and killed less than 4 minutes in the match. every single match today.

Which is very weird because I'm always careful and avoiding chases because I'm not good at running away from the killer.

Some were rank 6 and one was rank 17. very embarrassing when I'm rank 12.

What has changed? i had really good games yesterday.

    How are your games today?

I've escaped and died some games so I'd say quite balanced. But I tell you whats really annoyed me survivors have been unhooking each other in the killers face which infuriates me. Instead of the injured survivor running away while injured they just unhook and then both of them go down. That's what I've had today. Other than that not been too bad.

  • @Dragonshensi said:

Just had a match where everyone was constantly grouped together and the minute I hooked someone they would unhook. Of course most of them had Dead Hard except one. They kept trying to bodyblock and would never leave the hook so forced me to camp. Finally downed the one who didn’t have dead hard and killed him. Everyone else escaped. Think they were a team cause I could never find them for the longest. Also I’m low level Killer 13. Getting ranked with sweaty tryhard reds. The one I killed messaged me accusing me of tunneling and I need to get skills. It’s not my fault they all hovered around the hook and I couldn’t leave. I seriously wanted to DC cause it was the swamp, everything was dark and all everyone do was crouch. I only get one kill and I get hate for it. And of course these survivors were toxic. Constantly tbagging and such. I managed to hook and chase others so I wasnt tunneling. I mostly camped the dude during endgame cause they were constantly around me. All of them.

It made me feel like a loser honestly. They had all the advantages in this match and I had practically none. I was the Huntress. I can throw a hatchet....yay. Honesty doesn’t make me want to play Killer anymore.

When I play survivor I give it a couple seconds before I save someone off hook so the killer has chance to leave the hook and go pressure gens. My definition of tunneling is when a survivor is hooked and the killer comes straight back to the hook and chases the unhooked survivor and ignores everything else. However if you didn't camp the hook and the saved infront of you they were being very greedy so there's blame on those survivors for making silly plays.

For me, when playing killer, I wish I had known that the survivors could see your red stain (it took me a while to figure this out).

That you should interact with the killer. Not in a "hey im over here come get me" but if you want to improve at looping you need to actually get chased.

Devs. You guys are honestly very impulsive and ignorant. I can't even play a game without depiping. I work my ASS off to survive but still can't survive. I keep deranking every match because of the teammates I get. Nobody asked for the new animations or HUD. You guys don't even listen to your community who try and help you make this game better. You guys only follow your path and never take advice from us. I don't understand why some things need to be rectified immediately but the ones that need to be fixed immediately are put off. For example, you guys are so worried about getting killers in the game but you don't even pay attention to what needs to be fixed. I love this game but, the state that it is in may make this game decline. I can't rank up. My teammates are all over the place. I'm sorry that I'm this serious but it must be said. You guys don't even play your own game too often which can show that you guys don't have REAL empathy for us. But with that being said, I don't hate anything about this game. It's my favorite game to play in my free time. I just wish you guys would pay attention to the things that are significant.

Have a great day! Feel free to give me criticism

There really needs to be a health patch. We have chapters yet the games state is terrible at times. I think the majority of the community who play DBD would be in favour of content being paused in favour of the devs taking time and resources to fix major issues that the community are vocal about. BUT in the same instance if the company are making money it could mean that that money could be used for more resources and more staff who can help with the state of the game right now.

But in conclusion survivor is very hard to play right now with the current state of the game and this needs to be addressed and fixed.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    Just a simple question.

I want to talk about a specific situation where I hate NOED. You load into a match, you or a team mate are found by the killer. The killer commits to the survivor totally leaving gens and just focusing on said survivor. If I am the survivor who is being chased I want gens done as quickly as possible so that the time I have ran the killer means something. If my team mate is running the killer I want to do gens as soon as possible so they can maybe escape. Now you may say "Well just get the survivor off the hook and carry on" but if you have been in the situation as survivor most likely the killer now has a bee in their bonnet and wants that one survivor dead. So with the information I have and guessing the killer actions I am not going to go around the map looking for totems, I am going to do my best to get the objective done so that survivor can escape. Like I said, this is one specific situation but when NOED pops is utterly annoying. This is where I hate the perk because the killer will throw the match for one survivor and even though they made the bad choice I doing so they know they can use NOED as back up. Also I am going to assume you're asking "well just leave or find the totem" sometimes the survivor could be hooked by the lit totem and its over. I also wouldn't want to leave the survivor to die on hook just because they did well and got done over by a crap perk.

When I myself play killer I don't bring NOED because in my eyes if I didn't have control of the match before gens popped then that's on me. Sometimes gens get popped and that's ok. Either way people will use what perks they want however if you are a killer that uses the best perks (BBQ, NOED, POP, etc) then you should expect it from the other side too.

  • @AnnoyedAtTheGame said:

Having a totem counter in game will give such a massive negative effect on totem based perks. This would be another killer nerf again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1891993#Comment_1891993

Totems are important but only after a couple of gens have already popped, I had a group I used to play with that would have at least two of the guys doing totems the whole damn time, I would run the killer for a few minutes and when I go down hear "I got my second totem" and the other guy would say he had two also, so maybe one gen done if the third guy is actually doing them, I swear I want to just DC and not even bother, why take the killer on a huge chase if no gens are gonna get done? I might as well let him get me so he can go after a damn totem hunter so at least when I get off the hook more than one person will be on a gen and we actually have a chance at surviving, if you have more than one survivor focusing totems at the beginning over gens you might as well just hand the killer the game on a silver platter because once people start getting hooked and no gens are popping it's a wrap against a good killer who can take advantage of that pressure.

Exactly. I always think survivors should get atleast 2 gens done before doing totems or looking in chests.

  • @IronWill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1891718#Comment_1891718

And if they get chased for once, they go down after less than 5 seconds...

    Yep.

  • I feel ya, I'll be chased by killer and what are my team doing? Opening chests, cleansing totems, messing around in the basement but not a god damn gen!

  • @MetalTD said:

And this is done just for fun? Or do the survivors benefit somehow? I'm not exaggerating, they actually hid all game, never did one Gen. I was confused and wondering if its some strategy. When the game ended, in the chat, one said "totally worth it lol" and another said" yep lol".

If no gens have been done maybe one survivor can get hatch but thats it unless the killer DCs but as a survivor I would hate a match like that.

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

We saw with Insta-heals that if the devs make a change to something overpowered then everyone will run that thing and make games miserable as a form of protest, and we saw with Moris that the devs have learned from this and shadow-nerf things in order to stop scenarios like that happening again

So, We probably all know that 4 DS-Unbreakables is about as fun face as a god Nurse, so i'm certain that if the devs are going to change the combo then it'll be a shadow nerf that comes out of the blue, in order to prevent the scenario where every survivor runs it and making every game boring as hell

That may just be wishful thinking though, what are your thoughts?

The only nerf they need to do to DS is change it so once the survivor touches a gen, totem or heals themselves it deactivates. Simple and effective.

  • @Yords said:

Think about it, how would you balance keys yourself in a way that is strong, but not too strong? I would be willing to bet that the idea you think of is not great.

A popular idea that I hear quite a bit is that we should allow it to only let one person escape per key and have a 3-second animation of opening the hatch. The problem with this idea is that it would still be incredibly powerful as all survivors would just run a key knowing they could easily escape.

I myself don't know any other rework ideas for the keys, but you get the point. The keys are very complex when you stop and think about it. Moris on the other hand were much more unbalanced and much stronger. Keys at least require the survivors to do generators.

The mori change was good for the game itself. Most killers who ran it only used it against survivors holding a key which created very unfun and unhealthy gameplay. Being tunneled off of the first hook only to be moried is worse because it can happen so much faster.

Was it the best change? Probably not. But it is a good change. If you are complaining about the change, you are probably a killer who relied on moris to kill survivor teams using keys.

Killers who moaned about the Mori nerf brought it on themselves. How many games have you played where the killer brings an Ebony Mori and tunneled and moried straight off hook? If it wasn't so prevelent then it wouldn't of been an issue. I play killer and survivor and I never took a ebony Mori (before the change) because I never required four kills that badly. Moris are still usebale and have cool animations and now they are more balanced. With regards to keys, I myself take a key sometimes but it's rare I'd rather just play and get blood points instead of worrying about getting tunneled for a key.

As I said, if you can find and just drop pallets early you can never give him the chance to use the bottles on you. The second you are in the open for too long though, he will probably end up hitting you with them so loop smart. Against a killer like clown it doesn't really matter if there are suddenly dead zones in a match if everyone is on a gen (as they should be) and he is focused on you. There are more pallets than you think. Against a clown, he has no lethality in a chase (except with the ultra rare described) and moderate lethality with the pinky finger. Besides, this strategy varies on different maps such as springfield. On a map like springfield, you can actually use windows that are safe without using pallets for a little while.

I know it seems really scary going up against a clown with the pinky finger, but honestly the only thing you should worry about is your teammates dying on hook because they won't even try to go against it because they think it is too strong. I am being serious, it really is not as scary as you might think.

I see what you are saying but unfortunately when you play quite abit of solo survivor you cant really rely on teammates (I know that isn't the killers fault but yeh). It's crazy how much can get done in the first half of a match if people do one or two gens before looking in chests or doing totems. Obviously people should do them but I always think just pop one gen before anything else early game but unfortunately doesn't always work out that way. But I do dislike going against clown and with this new update it's most likely going to be clowns every other match for a little while. :/

  • @Yords said:

It still isn't really that great though. Just drop pallets down early against Clown, don't get caught in the open, and bam ez game. Seriously, the pinky finger is his best addon, but he is still a weak killer. The addon will only work if he can catch up to you, so just drop pallets early to not risk getting hit with it.

Bruh?! A good clown will just use his bottle at the pallet to slow you down and then down you. It's not a great strategy and you don't wanna leave dead zones early match.

  • @KaldakaGreyTwitch said:

Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor in an attempt to escape.

After being unhooked Decisive strike will be usable for 40/50/60 seconds.

While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the killer while in the dying state, succeed a Skill check to automatically escape the killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.

Disables if another survivor is hooked while you are not hooked or in the dying state until you are next hooked.

Successfully stunning the killer will result in you becoming the obsession.

Increases the odds of you being the obsession.

There, works off both hooks, still functions as an anti-tunnel tool, erases almost all of the abuse cases in one fell swoop. Even does the "anti-tunnel" job better than it does now.

I think the only change that's need to happen is DS is active once you are off hook. After if you touch a gen, or totem, or heal another survivor it deactivates. I think it should stay active longer if you are slugged though.

  • @ShamefulKing said:

Is it just me, or has it gotten more consistent recently? I feel like I am getting tunneled every other game. I'm not being toxic in anyway or rushing any gens, its just instant. If I am found first, I'm getting tunneled. Not in SWF, just regular solo cue. No flashlight, keys or toolboxes. It just keeps happening.

I will be taking a break for a bit, was just curious as to whether this has been happening to anyone else a lot more lately.

Yep, there will still be gens left and the killer is playing like we've got 1 gen left and brought flash lights and keys! They complain about DS but play so survivors are required to use it just to not get tunneled out the game. Really is becoming annoying and to the point where you have to SWF just to have a good match.

  • Because that's what's happening, maps are literally shocking. They'll spawn all unsafe pallets that are used before a gen evens pops so there's nothing to work with. Maps are small so gates aren't even worth going for because they take 10 years to open. Team mates are crap who can't last 5 seconds and will go for unhooks straight away when injured. Oh yeh and killer has undying and ruin so good luck on that gen because you now need to save because everyone is injured.

Oh and killers cry if they can't kill all 4 survivors every single game.

  • Maps with no pallets and like one t and l wall. Oh and killers can 1 hit you because why not.

  • I think it should stack two totems. But I get what you mean. Time is already precious and deciding on doing a totem now (not be able to do it later) and doing it later (might not be able to get to it and killer might have NOED) but I agree should stack but two.

That's literally what this game had become and killers will cry if survivors bring strong perks to combat it.

I'd like to reply and be like "YOU'RE BEING SURVIVOR SIDED YOU TOXIC LITTLE SURVIVOR MAIN" but I can see why that would be true. Although would you say that helping your teammate should be a higher priority if you could both get out would be better? Not like reportable but just to be a better teammate.

Oh definitely I'm not saying just sit on hatch. I'm saying if the survivor is sitting on hatch the game will still end. But yeh be a good teammate.

  • Killer sitting on hatch when the last survivor is around is taking game hostage. Survivor sitting on hatch is not hostage because the game will end with the death of the other survivor and the killer finding hatch.

  • I run Self Care and its saved my ass so many times. Also it saves time on having to find a survivor and be healed. The way I see it, I get injured I either escape killer or get downed. If I escape I just heal up and go find a gen if I get hooked I get rescued I go and heal while my team mates are doing gens. Its all about picking the right time to heal. I've had situations where because I healed myself I could do rescues and plays that wouldn't of been possible if I didn't have it. Again it's about timing though. If you're going to heal do it on a pallet or jungle gym instead of running to the edge of the map.

  • @Xyvielia said:

    Not bad.

Kinda in the vein of For the People. I like that altruism and generosity aspect.

Many survivor’s take the chance to escape, so for them, with slippery meat and Salty Lips equipped, could make for easier Kobe points.

This discussion’s probz gonna get moved to suggestions area btw, so any devs checking out perk ideas will have the opportunity to see it.

Just have to figure out the 3 tier set-up for Grave Sacrifice and add it to your post (ie. perks have 30/60/90 second cool downs, or 5%/10%/15% increases, etc.)

Yeh most likely, I should of put aswell that killer gets hooks points when the perk is used so it's not unfair on them. I'd say the amount of time to give the perk to someone so like tier 1 - 30 seconds to give perk. Tier 2 - 15 seconds to give perk. Tier 3 - 10 seconds. So it would be like when healing or doing a totem just clicking m1 on the survivor on death hook.

  • @Xavier22 said:

Yes, before I get into it, I am a survivor main. I wanna talk about NOED because I think the general idea around it is really, really stupid.

Now I have a lot of hours and don't get me wrong, I don't think this perk is op, I just think it is a dumb perk. Let's think about it this way, why should any perk in the game, AND I MEAN ANY, grant you a free kill? You should not put a perk in pre-game and already be guaranteed a kill (unless you are a bad killer). Same goes for survivor, you should not be able to run a perk and be granted a free escape which to my knowledge I have never heard any streamer say, "(specific perk) grants survivors a free escape," but I have heard streamers say, "NOED only gives you one kill." Giving you one kill for losing your objectives makes 0 sense.

And the main argument I have seen is, "just cleanse all the totems!" Are you serious? This is your best argument? Cleansing all the totems is actually very hard on many maps and even harder in solo queue and if you don't believe me, take Undying/Ruin for example, sure, you have some games where ruin goes but, most games ruin stays up the whole game because of how hard it is to find all the totems and because of how much time it actually takes away against a genuinely good killer.

I also hear people say, "just run small game and detectives hunch with a rainbow map!" So since you put on one perk, I have to change my entire loadout now? Hmmmm, totally makes sense.

Once again, I am complaining about the idea of NOED and how I think it makes no sense being in the game, not it being op or anything because it definitely is not.

AND BEFORE YOU SAY "WELL THESE SURVIVOR PERKS AND THINGS ARE STUPID BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH," just because I addressed NOED here doesn't mean I think NOED is the ONLY bad thing in this game, just something that was on my mind right now. I am a very experienced player in this community mainly because I have probably spent 1000 hours watching streamers play this game and learning it so no, I'm not a mong...for the most part.

    Please be kind ❤️

NOED is a stupid perk that punishes survivors for doing the objective.

Stronger for killer but also strong for survivors because it lasts much longer, assuming your teammate is decent at looping. If the killer tunnels the survivor off hook for 45 seconds, only to hit them and find they have Bodyguard, then they have to decide whether or not to waste more time tunneling to try and down them, or they can stop tunneling and try to find the unhooker, since now they have incentive to because they're injured. Its a time waster for killers, and a big benefit for those getting tunnelled, but much less frustrating than a DS stun for killers.

I personally don't like DS that much, because it just makes killers that much more inclined to tunnel you once you use it in my experience.

I would actually use the perk atleast I know I've got a little bit of a chance after being unhooked.

  • So.... Borrowed time but abit stronger for killer as it inflicts damge on another survivor? I see what you are saying and it might be better but would be good to keep the killer stun for 5 seconds.

I believe every time the question has been brought up, the answer has always been no.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't see any answers through the thread.

We do not have that feature integrated into DbD

Do you think it is something that could be looked into? Maybe there could be a cool down as in you can chose to avoid one player a day. Atleast it would be less abuseable then. I just think it could be implemented and actually be good and helpful :)

Would be handy if this only worked as a survivor player wanting to avoid other survivors.

    - Sandbaggers with bond

    -intentional body blockers

    -unhook spammers & hook farmers

-afk / struggle and then let go on first hook

    -DCers

The list goes on but you get my drift

I want the feature for this exact reason. It would actually make solo que more bearable also so you can block useless players who just wait for gates to be opened.
