Yun-Jin, Kate, Zarina? Elodie? Jill? All incredibly attractive with smooth complexions, attractive features, and sleek physiques.
I do agree that that hairstyle is totally oversaturated, though - and that the highlights don't really suit Haddie.
They still don't look like supermodels.

We're not looking to make things boring. We're looking to shake things up and make the old meta not such an obvious choice. In its place, we'll be buffing a bunch of other perks to give you a heaps of new options to pick from.
Are you guys aware that the reason DS and BT remain meta has to do with 2 common playstyles in-game? Camping and Tunneling.
I am not sure how you could change those perks without changing the reason why they get brought in constantly.
Edit: Just saw you answered this early on.

What are you all on? Not only do I think Haddie looks like a badass, but it's a little disappointing that everyone expects all female characters to be supermodels and makes noise if they aren't. (In fairness, I've always thought Nea is pretty attractive too, but sheesh, conventional beauty isn't the only way to go.)
Which female survivor look like a supermodel? Because none of them do.
I am just tired of seeing the "Punk girl" hair in every female integrated into DBD. That's it. Has nothing to do with attractiveness.
-
I think they need to focus more on changing the built-in meta if anything. By:
Adding Interactable maps
Better killer map pressure (especially M1 killers).
Adding other survivor mechanics that could be used as resources besides pallets.
Etc. Etc.
I am not saying build an entirely different game, but build upon the one they already have. DbD is about chase so make it more about the chase with "fresh" added features.

As far as I know you don't even have the game installed. You produced the most ridiculous post I have ever read:
ThatOneDemoPlayer Posts: 3,886
A normal chase, without Dead Hard lasts about 45 seconds, that's 56.25% worth of Generator time. If the Survivor wiggles off, the Killer has to waste about 15-30 seconds again, depending on if the Survivor plays well or not. That's, 1 minute or more, which is 75% of a Generator. If wiggling off only requires 1 extra Survivor, that's 2 Generators about to pop.
If wiggling off required 2 Survivors, then only a single Generator would've been about to pop, which would be more fair, as when 2 or more Survivors decide to sabotage Hooks and take hits, the Killer can't do anything about it other than dropping the Survivor, which will lead to a quick pick up later on
I mean, someone who says this can't even own the game.
Don't bother with people like them.
(From experience) They will create the most specific scenario (because they think there is only one) in which something they deem as "too strong" will fit their opinion. In other words, it's never "The generator is about to pop, but I was able to get there in time and they were in a dead zone so DH didn't do anything for them". You will never hear them utter those words in these forums.
Even though we know literally EVERY, not one, not two, but EVERY exhaustion perk is able to produce x amount of seconds extended chase time. With some SB, Lithe, BL being able to get the killer off of you, period. Which basically means that DH is right there with those.
You would think for someone who supposedly cares about numbers and values they would have the ability to recognize this as well.

Rewatch the VOD, he was referring with how it directly relates with the game.
I watched it. He is bringing his own RL expertise and talking about the horror aspects of DBD and why we enjoy it. Not how it should be balanced around it.
DBD is a game not a real life scenario, so why should people feel like the killer is a threat 100% of the time? The game has perks to allow you to survive because it is a game, doesn't mean there needs to be a reenactment of what an actual predator makes their victims feel.
-
It's a game.
He was talking from a Real Life Survivability/Horror perspective.

So using a perk against your opponent = "survivors can bully killers" ?

They will be, but I think they see a lot less usage after a change this big. I rarely see aura perks in actual use when you can just take meta perks to increase your chase time or survivability. and I also think this would also help BHVR when it comes to marketing DLC that offers a survivor with aura reading to help the team.
Honestly considering that the “meta” for survivors is composed of DS/BT/DH/IW , 2 of those perks are a result of Camping and Tunneling. Two playstyles that outside of being boring are also problematic for the game with Camping being flat out cheesed out by certain killers. Makes the whole argument surrounding the lack usage of other perks useless. Because nothing is changing on that front.
Many times I have brought more “fun” builds only to be met with getting face camped. So my next move is to go for what will AT LEAST buy me a little bit of time. DS and BT.
I think it is important to note this because it is literally defining the core of the game. When it should be more about chases and patrolling gens for killers. Not standing at a hook at 5 gens up.

Stop spreading saying this and accept the fact that a Dead Hard for distance is uncounterable
It can be baited it out in many situations so why shouldn’t he/she say it?
Also he never once said bait it out for distance, I think you’re just making stuff up now.
FYI killers like Nurse (the good ones) don’t care about DH they will just blink again.
Maybe stick to the topic.

Love how “the numbers don’t lie” person has no idea that the LGBT community has “the nunbers” in DBD and that perhaps…. Juuuuuust perhaps BHVR might have noticed this. 😂

I mean, that's your opinion. If you think she is a good killer with a lot of map pressure then please play her. I still have my opinion and I feel like the majority of the killers agree with me. I mean, there has to be a reason why we never see her anymore. I think that's because she is extremely underpowered.
it is my opinion and that of a lot of other players too. No one is arguing otherwise.
Just as much as it is your opinion that you think she has no power.
Of course the majority of killer players will agree with you here. Have you been around here?

Idk if you're serious or not but I really can't tell you what her power is. Like I said, bad stealth, tv cooldown is way too long and survivors get rid of the effect in no time... Nothing is strong about her.
You aren't meant to use her tv's exposure feature as your "main" power. I am not sure why you would play her that way anyway.
She is far more stealthy than you give her credit for. She has a lot of map pressure, which no other (aside from Freddy) killer has.

There are warning, people just ignore them despite having epilepsy, I would argue that there needs to be a huge one as you open dbd though. Also notice how the black one (Playstation store) has Starbreeze EULA attached to it, that means that warning is at least 4 years old.
And here I was thinking there was no warning at all.
If I read this and I knew I had an issue, I probably wouldn't play the game, or many games for that matter.
-
More interactable maps. Where maps presents survivors and killers with situations that encourage more strategic gameplay rather than some of the cheesy gameplay styles that exist.
I feel like people have a tall order, but this is where I actually agree because the game needs to evolve so that players feel like there is something fresh.

Yes I am trusting the devs because none of you are working on the game. Only they make those changes.
As for Deathslinger, his changes have nothing to do with Camping.

I agree with face camping proxy camping and tunneling is good strategy for killers even more when you hook survivor and move 10m away and unhook happends instant what i'm supposed to do pretend i didnt see that? Yea sure.
No you don't have to pretend anything. In fact all you have to do is not claim what isn't being said.
Yes face-camping needs a fix and Camping also needs to be looked at. Simply from the perspective of , it is too easy to do and promotes the same stale meta on survivors (I.E. BT and DS). Am I saying that they should nerf it and that's it? NO. Am I saying that whatever change they do should only benefit survivors? NO. I am saying that the devs should focus on making the game more fun and balanced on both sides.
I've seen killers complain on the daily about DS and BT and the OP has presented with the reason why. THEY are doing it to themselves.
@drsoontm said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2944106#Comment_2944106
That's not the point I'm trying to make. I have no problem at all with tunneling, camping or even slugging to death. Killers kill, survivors survive.
I'm just noticing that when I play "nice", that's the usual outcome. Assuming it's the same experience for other players, even the ones that aren't too competitive are bound to stop playing nice at some point.
I know it's not, but I am saying that you having a reaction over something meaningless that does not change the course of the match, is not the same thing as a playstyle that does make a significant impact on the match.
You are comparing playing nice (as in not doing any of those things) with survivors BMing you that makes no difference in the outcome because they have a macro and decide they want to be jerks about it.
-
@drsoontm said:
Gee, I wonder why.
Yesterday I've played a few matches as killer. I hadn't played for a few days. I was simply trying to keep the muscle memory for the blinks and the hatchets so I didn't care much about the results and was only chasing the most interesting players.
In one game however I emphatically didn't tunnel and camp. Even when the game was over and there was only one survivor alive beside the one I've just hooked I went away. What did I got for my trouble? Macro-clicking and insults in the chat. I was a bit surprised since how gently I've played. (It's always from the most incompetent player. Always.) Sometimes I forget this lesson. Next time I'll only show mercy to the last slug, if even that.
Ah well, back to tunneling and camping, whatever is more efficient.
How many matches did that happen in? 20? Like the OP described?
Also, trash talking and flashlight clicking does not gain you an advantage over the match. Camping and Tunneling does.
-
@eaebree said:
And do you know that is not against game rules?
I read the entire OP.
When exactly did he/she say that it is against the rules?
Camping needs to be looked at not because it's against the rules, but because it is an unbalanced playstyle.
-
OMG how come you didn't Dead Hard for distance after you unhooked, like everyone on here proclaims you can? 🤣
Yikes at him thinking you were t-bagging, at this point they are seeing things even though they aren't happening at all. I love the last part when he knows you got him, he proceeds to completely go on a different rant. lol
Also, this right here:
is exactly WHY DS and BT will always remain meta. So the next time killers complain about why survivors bring those perks all the time, there is the answer.
-
I thought just the icon remained not the actual status. It happened to me yesterday and you could hear him losing his T3 just the icon not disappearing.
-
Currently camping is the easiest most cheesiest strat to pull off as killer. Something that the devs acknowledge and have said are looking into.
So what I would say is anytime someone face camps you, think about that. The length at which they had to go in order to get that one kill.
-

Why is it any time a tactic exists for killers that works, it gets labeled as "for bad killers".
Tunnelling = bad killer.
Camping = bad killer.
Slugging = bad killer.
NOED = bad killer.
And yet no one ever says doing X or Y is for "bad survivors"?
How come you never hear "Dead Hard is for bad Survivors" or "Brand New Parts are for bad Survivors" or "Flashlight saves are for bad Survivors?"
Why is this EXCLUSIVELY a one sided double standard?
Except that you brought a list, I only spoke about Camping and more specifically face-camping.
Sorry if it triggers you that you chose the easier killer playstyle in DBD. Some of us don't and still get kills.
Also nice of you to compare items that HAVE to be brought Vs In-game/Built In playstyles.

Oh i can read between the lines. Your point of survivors being "forced" to equip BT and DS because they get camped. Is invalidated by the sheer fact that survivor used the old weaponized DS when they didn´t fear being camped. They took it to troll the killer.
Btw. the DS timer is 60 seconds. Which can be a very long time, when the killer gets hook intensive matches. Where he still gets hit by DS, even when he hooked someone else in between. Happens quite often to Otz.
Look, i understand how frustrating it must be for you, when you get camped at 5 gens. But that just gives the other survivors time to complete gens. Since a camping killer is a passive killer. You don´t have to take BT or DS. In fact, i only equip BT when i have a challenge to get X amount of save rescues. Not because i hook dive, more because some of my teammates have the bad habit of running straight to the killer. So feel free to take other perks instead of BT and DS. It might require a change in play, but as you said: "good killers wait out the timer" means they also expect a BT, when you don´t have it. Same happend to DS. Killers always respect the DS, even when there is none in play.
If you really want the killers to camp less, then ask the devs to revert the Undying nerf. Because in the time between the release of Undying and its nerf. The amount of camping threads on this forum was on a record low. For the simple reason that every killer who wanted to get anything out of the Undying Ruin combo, had to constantly move, spread damage and patrol gens. Aka not camping. It was a glorious time. I loved it back then, even when i had to cleanse 5 hex totems on my own. But somehow other people didn´t like the gameplay and demanded the Undying nerf. I even advised against it, since i predicted that camping would increase. Wanna know what i got in response? "i prefer a camping killer over the free win of Undying Ruin".
So an abuse that no longer exists (using DS anytime you wanted to) invalidates the still recurring issue that survivors feel the need to bring DS and BT in almost every match because of how rampant Camping is? Maybe you need to stop living in the past.
I actually DONT think you understand how frustrating it is. Do you think killers were not camping when old Undying was in play? Please just stop. You are just digging yourself deeper and deeper my friend. I bet you also must think killers play nice when nobody has Dead Hard or Circle of Healing equipped too huh? Riiiiiight.

I´m not trying to fit a narrative or anything. It was never specified WHEN the killer camps. What narrative are you trying to fit? That camping killers are OP? Or that survivors need more stuff to deal with camping?
So you´re saying that survivors actually hate DS and BT? That they just take them, because they have no choice and instead would prefer to take something else, more powerful? I guess you just started playing after the DS nerf, before that, survivors weaponized DS to finish a gen in front of the killer.
Good killers wait the 12 seconds? Mhhh i´ll try to remember that, while every healthy survivor does a line up, protecting the injured survivor on the way to the gate.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/S1PQQ6HOUCEU/tellmemore.jpg
I never said survivors hated DS and BT.
So now you're bringing up old DS? This is EXACTLY what I am talking about. How do you go from saying that survivors aren't forced to bring DS or BT → to → "OH but they do it during Endgame!" → to → Survivors weaponized old DS. As if that is suppose to counter argue? my point about survivors wanting to bring OTHER builds not necessarily stronger ones, but because they see camping so much they opt not to.
You know in order for DS to work the killer has to go for the person recently unhooked right? Like, I am just wondering now.

Everyone who plays survivor gets face-camped and tunneled out of the game without being able to counter it, hence the issue.
That is exactly the point that survivor players argue and it often gets ignored on here. Instead people are very quick to judge and point out how it's a valid strat (even though again that isn't the argument being made, but it's balance).
It isn't that survivors are saying they don't understand why killers do it. In fact I've seen survivors who can distinguish the difference between when it is warranted vs when it isn't.
It is the simple fact that outside of TWO perks that somewhat counter it, there is nothing else that survivor can do. So that same survivor is going to now make sure those two perks are more used in their builds more often than not.

Oh the irony, killers that don´t camp are the ones to get most likely hit with DS during the endgame. Since DS then becomes a guaranteed free escape. Especially with BT.
BT gets used on killers that don´t camp, by survivors that don´t give the killer even a chance to leave the hook. The unhooked survivor then tries to body block the savior. So the killer either hits the unhooked survivor or doesn´t get a hit at all.
Have you never played with good survivors or what?
Oh so now we’re at “endgame” huh? Always trying to fit a situation to fit your narrative.
Stop trying to steer the conversation. You say that BT gets brought because survivors like to play recklessly and don’t care if the killer turns their back but never because they have been camped for the millionth time in a row right? Nah never because of that at all. Survivors must just really love this perk and not want to use other perk builds. 😂
On the last question, yes I have played with good survivors, they also don’t just dive bomb hooks simply because they have a perk that gives endurance for the next 12 seconds. Have you played against good killers? Because they will wait the 12 seconds.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939192#Comment_2939192
As i said, those perks are meta. No one forces survivors to use them. Yet, everyone uses them. Not because they are scared of face campers. Just because they allow for save rescues no matter what.
Are you forreal?
BT is used ALOT because of the very complaint the OP just mentioned. Literally the campers are making BT meta more than ever because it is more frequent than not.
Survivors who farm with BT are bound to go down sooner than those who safely unhook without. Any rational human being player understands this.
This is why killers who do not camp don’t need to deal with BT or DS. Rendering those perks useless.
-
Don’t worry, I’m sure many on here would love to “fill you in” on that it is a valid strat blah blah blah… even though virtually no one is questioning it’s validity, just how unbalanced it is and not the direction the game should be taking considering that we have 2 perks that new players don’t have immediate access to that semi counter it.
Devs have already said they are going to be making changes to Camping. Hang in there.
