That feeling “hollow” comment hit me so hard it brought tears. I relate to that feeling in my own personal upbringing.
Thank you for opening up about your personal story on here. I think many times some people don’t truly understand the importance of why it means so much that we have representation. This is part of why, because it resonates with people who have witnessed the difference between being able to be yourself without question vs being somebody else for the sake of who others believe you should be.
I know I am only one person amongst many, but I am truly thankful to BHVR for doing this. Mostly because they didn’t have to, but also because it honestly felt like a warm hug and then just saying “you belong here and no one can tell you otherwise.” ❤️
Edit: Milo is such a cutie. Is he Yorkshire Terrier?

Omg I would love Carol from the Walking Dead!
She turned out to be such a badass character.
I would also love to see Elise from Insidious, what a great character she was!

How is me not wanting my favorite DBD characters to not have a canon sexuality implying I am a homophobe? 🤣
Weren't you the one who said you didn't care about lore?
So why does it all of a sudden matter whether a character's sexuality is canon or not? Wouldn't you just not even read the lore and just play the game? Instead of trying to pursue/dispute it by making absurd comments that show the opposite of not caring about lore.

Idk man, them making one of the existing characters trans would definitely be random at that point.
Random because.... You said so?

I'm just thankful I'm not filled with this much hatred when I reply to people on controversial topics like this. No one has directly called me a homophobe yet... I think. I have said I just feel like that is how some people see me here. I'd love to make my own game like that by the way but I fear I would be endlessly attacked by people like you for lack of representation.
I am thankful that I am secure with my own sexuality (gay) that I don't need to know who is gay and who is not before purchasing a character. In fact, when you think about it I have been purchasing heterosexual characters all along (to my knowledge).... and yet not one person has brought that up, funny how that works huh? Maybe that is why they are trying to be more inclusive now.
You claim labeling you a "homophobe" is how think other people see you, when in fact you are the one who is making yourself look that way, with comments such as:

The point was the customers and fans of these characters deserve to know before spending more money on them.
LOL
You do realize that even if they were to follow your absurd dispute to "know" the sexuality of a character before purchase, they (BHVR) by law reserves the right to change whatever they feel like including but not limited to the lore of a character?
Perhaps go make your own game where you can feature your own interpretation of characters and the way YOU want them to be interpreted by your own consumers.
Also, on people calling you a homophobe, here is what I have to say. If it quacks and walks like a duck, it's a duck.

I think BHVR could had let characters not to be defined, I mean "not defined" and add lore to represent others groups.
The game lore plays with universes so in one dimension David is gay and we represent it on the lore or in another universe is asexual.
I think on that way everyone could feel represented with a character and even with a specific david from one specific universe or maybe a bisexual kate.
I think that step would be the more adecuate so in that way every group would be represented.Maybe now is a gay David but next lore could be an peaceful David or bad person David. What people think about it?
So from what I read (which is kinda hard to follow) you want them to not say that he is gay because it is too... "definitive"?
I am not seeing how leaving a character's specific sexuality out by not naming it can be more inclusive when they have already said they plan on adding more characters which are also representative of the LGBTQAI+ community.
Listen, at this point they could have made one of the females a lesbian, and I, being a gay dude would have still been thrilled that they are doing this in support of my community. It has nothing to do with which letters in the LGBTQAI+ they are going to pick, it has to do the messaging of inclusivity and support.

"I've been pretty bored lately so I started camping more and more..."
Oh I think they do know why killers do what they do. It's just people on here want to pin them as "entitled survivor mains" when they explain that even though it is part of the game, it isn't the best/most balanced parts of the game.
I play both sides and I have NEVER enjoyed camping. It is boring on both sides because you are sitting there waiting for free pressure to show up rather than using your brain and skill to obtain it while it feeling rewarding. So yes, when you camp and get called out for it, sometimes it IS warranted. You used a cheap "strat" in a game that doesn't yet fully acknowledge how cheesy of a playstyle it is.
Just like they don't like the fact that you did it, you don't have to like the fact that they called you out for it.
-
Nope.
I usually consider it bold, but not toxic.
I wouldn't pay attention to them, some killers get so easily triggered they want to call everything toxic.
-
I’ve never seen nor played with anyone who has actually waited CI. It’s no wonder you find it boring to go against lol
-
Community - I’m not just talking about the forums, but in general, there is a segment of this community that is not good for the game.
Game is too RNG reliant. The game should feel like it is more about skill and less about how many cheese mechanics can you overcome during the match.
Latency - something which will never be fixed because of its nature. But it’s the reason a lot of players lose matches because they either get hit where they shouldn’t have or don’t hit where they should.

If you guys continue to ignore what I said then why're you guys still @'ing me? I didn't say anything about him being gay I said it shouldn't be a big deal he's gay and its not worthy of a huge long blog post for it.
You literally just compared LGBTQAI+ people to “zoo animals” while calling yourself “normal person on the street”. If that’s the case I’ll be a zoo animal, if it means that I can count this as a win and choose to celebrate it.
The best thing about it is that you can choose to participate/celebrate OR not, and no one will judge you for it. Just like you shouldn’t judge if someone wants to write up a long post about why it means that it does to them.

No I am aware.

I mean, no, but nobody complains about Dead Hard because the survivor Dead Harded a basic attack and got hit with another basic attack five seconds later. Complaining about that is like complaining about a baby Nurse - awesome tool, derpy handler. When people complain about Dead Hard, it's because it was used to extend a chase 30+s by reaching a resource that the survivor wouldn't have made otherwise.
Now, the thing people do forget is that good survivors greed pallets because they have Dead Hard and they would have thrown the pallet a loop earlier without the safety net, so it's not quite as binary as "I would have gotten them here if they didn't have Dead Hard."
Where do you get 30 seconds? That is not fact to every match. Unless you have proof that it is.
Of course you’re not gonna complain when it doesn’t mean anything. That goes with anything about this game. Doesn’t mean it is broken though.
Also not every survivor who greeds a pallet are doing it because they know they can make it, in many situations they expect you to whiff and many fall for that. I don’t.
You can loop a survivor in a way they don’t expect it to out-position them because that is a thing too.

People think it only ever gets used for distance because that’s it’s most common use at high MMR
It’s not the only time it is used though.
It is used when it is needed to be used, sometimes that is in very unfortunate moments and set ups with nothing.
The narrative in these forums is that anyone who has DH wins which is not the case.
I am in high MMR as killer with over 6.8k hours and I can guarantee you that people who run DH get out as much as someone with SB, if not less because they tend to play way too greedy.
-
We all know this, but it’s apparent that many (like some in this very thread) seem to think that the only time it is ever used it WhEN YoU DeAd HaRd fOR DiSTaNCE.

Lol @ people thinking kill rates will skyrocket.
Sprint Burst will encourage players to play super safe. Good luck getting that down that took you 3 gens. It will now be 4.

The fact they needed to devout an entire tome and make a huge twitter announcement over the fact a character is gay. It literally makes LGBT people look more like a spectacle and a zoo animal then it makes us look like normal everyday people who you'd see walking the street.
I don't get how the devs standing in acceptance of a group that has been utterly marginalized and continues to be in 2022 (especially in other countries) makes it look like they are zoo animals.
I know this may come as a shocker to you, but we are far off from being treated like “normal people walking the streets”. Part of that is due to the exclusion and discrimination that we still face. BHVR is showing that they are in support of what we stand for which is love. By including characters where their stories are relateable to an outsider that has been made to feel that way is one of those ways.

Still, wanted to ask. I've seen some Sadako players use her abilities in really clever ways. From my experience, she's at her strongest when playing in a devious way and putting pressure in multiple places at once. Have seen some skilled players predict where the chase is leading towards and teleported ahead to make the survivor run into them.
Like.. Another thing to remember is that due to killers having different abilities, everyone will have a certain killer they're better at. Trickster is a good example of a killer that had so many complaints about how much he sucked, and got buffed twice. Yet, he's extremely strong in the hands of someone with good aim, who is used to playing shooter games.
I feel like more often than not, killers get buffed to be good for an average player, which tends to turn them OP in the hands of a good player. They should balance a killer to be good for someone who those particular abilities just "click" for. That's why there's so many killers, there's something for everyone.
Sadako is not as bad as people make her out to be.
You have to realize which platform you are hearing feedback from. These forums are not reliable, especially because many people will call for buffs without keeping in mind the killer’s strength and how much if you buff one thing something else becomes overbuffed.
Many just want her lullaby gone because they do not want the survivor to have any indication that she is around, so what this tells me is that they want a free hit, since we all know that the lullaby doesn’t necessarily give away her exact location… just that she is “around”.
She can literally gain so much pressure just from her teleport alone. Something that no regular M1 killer has.

It's just the fact that they did it all of a sudden. They literally said "hey we don't have a gay man so here's one cuz why not". Everyone knows that's not how your supposed to do it. Take soilder 76 for example.
They are dedicating an entire Tome to him (his 2nd one) to expand on his story. I would imagine that it addresses his sexuality to some extent from David's point of view.
I care more about his story more than whether it was already an established character or not.
-
On the contrary.... if SWF wasn't possible, you'd see the game dead within days.
-
I don't get what the issue is? It's not like we know everything about every single character. Why does it have to be someone new?
-
I understand where you are coming from, but I think perhaps you aren't really making your point come across correctly. This is the part where I would say, it's more about the message and less about the fitting the "stereotype". They obviously cannot fit every single type of LGBTQIA+ characteristic into one single character.
Does this mean that they aren't really supportive? Absolutely not. Does this mean that femininity being displayed as part of a character's characteristic have no place? Absolutely not. It just means that maybe this is not the character that would allow them to fit the characteristics that you want to see.
They did say he is the first step toward more representation. So I wouldn't count out the idea that perhaps a character with more effeminate characteristics might show up in the future.
-
What I love most about these news is BHVR’s continued commitment towards more representation.
Making David part of the LGBTQIA+ community is a smart choice because he is already an established character that people are familiar with, and they could build upon that lore-wise, so I can’t wait to read his tome when it comes out.

Survivors who complain about these strategies are either very entitled and their opinion on the subjet are silly (like killers who complain about gen rushing, bodyblocking...) or they're complaining because it's not fun to go against or fair to the survivor getting tunneled or facecamped, which is true.
There's nothing wrong with people saying they don't like a strategy or arguing that it shouldn't be the game's meta or be encouraged by perks or whatever, and the other side shouldn't whine about people not enjoying playing against them because of these strategies... what people shouldn't do is demand that because a strategy isn't fun for them it shouldn't be used, and that people who do are mean (to stay polite) because they didn't take into account their feelings when they decided to win using these strategies.
It's also entitlement when people complain because the other side didn't have fun, it's strange to me to see killers complain about survivors saying the game was boring bc they facecamped lol like? If you care about them having fun change strategies but you're probably playing to win and don't care about their fun, you can't expect or demand people to have fun against you that's just weird (even if you're not using sweaty strategies).
Playing to win using sweaty strategies is fine, complaining about a strategy is fine.
Demanding that everyone stops using a viable and valid strategy because you don't like it or demanding that people enjoy going against it is silly and entitled.
There are some instances in which you cannot do anything against Camping. A notable one being a Camping Leatherface.
So you can't just generalize and say everyone just doesn't like Camping, they aren't saying that. They are saying that in very specific instances, it becomes boderline uncounterable. This makes the DS/BT meta more stagnant which means that as killer you will be more likely to see those two perks than any other. Which in turn gets boring, because there is no variety, no variation of perks. That's all.

@Omans said:
All the people complaining about Dead hard are so short-sighted.
At high mmr sprint burst and Dead hard are equally powerful. The reason Dead hard is used more is because it is an active ability, thus more fun.
If Dead hard gets nerfed everyone will just switch to sprint burst which is equally powerful.
At lower mmr killers can easily take advantage of survivors who aren't efficient in their use of Dead hard.
Like other people have said, too. The already too-powerful-against-solo-queue nurse and Blight would need to be nerfed if Dead hard was nerfed. Would that be alright?
If the devs are truly willing to nerf Dead hard, then they better be willing to balance the entire game from its core. But we already know they won't do that.
We know this.
We know there are people on these very forums that wouldn't know the strength of each perk if it hit them in the face. Because they are so annoyed by one perk that they are blind to other perks and the value that they bring.
This is why I am actually looking forward to everyone starting to use SB instead, because we all know that it isn't because DH is stronger that people aren't using it, it is because Dead Hard is more engaging DURING a chase, and usually those type of people aren't looking to play safe. Which is why a lot of them go down because they are too reliant on DH.
Mark my words, the complaining won't stop. They will start to complain that the holding W meta (which is the one I myself find boring af) has gone up, and how 3 gens are now finishing before they can get their first
hookhit. -
Imagine using Spirit as an example when it was clear that she needed to be nerfed and which part of her kit.
Stop assuming that everyone who is asking for a nerf is out to get every killer out there nerfed. Literally I've never seen people ask for nerfs that they felt were warranted on other killers like Trickster, other than the average "I don't like x thing so nerf it" posts. Which is common on this platform and you should learn to ignore those.
-
No, but they should be re-worked IMO.

People always say this when people complain about Dead Hard but answer me this: If Sprint Burst was so strong, why do far, FAR more people just run Dead Hard?
Because when you look at all the exhaustions across the board, Dead Hard is the only perk that works best when in short distance loops, meaning that you aren't leaving the area to get to another zone.
Sprint Burst is a much more safer option, and you are only using it for long distance... which is why you don't see SB users, use it to run around shack or an LT wall (as examples).
I've always actually said that if the devs created another perk that works similar to Dead Hard with regards to being more potent during a short distance chase/loop, players would be using that as well. People like to get chased in this game, the other exhaustion perks do not promote chasing but a killer leaving you alone instead.

Afaik you need to dodge 3 chains and then it gives you a little bit of time to solve it, so if they haven't changed that they keep spawning even if you have the box yea.
The random chains spawning after the box has been solved shouldn't happen though, that i'm 99% sure.
Thank you for the response I knew at least one of them was a bug.
I don’t play Pinhead that much. So I just thought if you were actually solving the chains would not attack, not just holding the box.
-
Isn’t he bugged?
I have literally seen people get hit by chains when they try to solve the box. Plus also seen random chains after the box has been solved.
Maybe players don’t like bugged/unintended things.
-
Considering that DBD lives rent free even in the minds of those who wish it was actually dead, it is far from dead.
The fact that people still after they have demonstrated that they do not like nor they are happy with the game do not move on to something else and reside like a tick on a dog speaks for itself.
-
What a weird take on EGC.
I have literally never felt as killer that survivors are gaining anything from it.
It’s literally just a timer countdown. If anything it can mess survivors up because they will run out of time preventing them from doing whatever they need to do, and what happens when the timer runs out?
The game ends and the survivors do Not escape, they die.
-
Imagine complaining about 99'd gates when you can open it yourself. 🤣

Not like I “won” something through my own knowledge and skill. More like a “gotcha” perk.

Many times playing M1 killer against sprint burst players is even worse, not talking when survivors do 99 sprint burst etc.
I m playing always as solo survivor. And many killers can do bait survivor to use dead hard and make mistake. Yes i m using dead hard, but definitely against some killers like Nurse and Blight i do want to have dead hard and still loosing against good players, i m just solo survivor tho. I do meet many nurses and blights, lets say first nerf their adons and then lets talk about dead hard. As i m saying, i m not having problems with survivors using dead hard, i do play killers and most i have been playing just M1 killers. And lately great nurses players using just range adons, those r so nasty adons, omega blinks etc. U dont have too much time as survivor to make any decision ...
