  • Another one of these...

I couldn't even get through the first paragraph... but I will say if you actually listened, they did say that his add ons will allow for gens to go slower (They didn't elaborate further) but that is still a thing.

Again. Wait until the rework is here, test it out and then give an opinion.

  • I hope these aren't the people devs listen to.

Everybody knows it is too early to even remotely have any feedback/criticism if at all.

Maybe you guys losing "hope" should play another game. These threads are literally pointless.

  • Agreed completely. This needs to be re-worked for different instances.

  • I don't base why I buy cosmetics on their "tier level", more if I actually main them or have fun with them, so I got it. :)

  • @Peanits

So instead of keeping Huntress in mind when changing loops you give her an annoying buff? Like at least make it so the lullaby isn't heard from across the map... it should have a smaller radius than it does.

  • They have literally already said that they are addressing that with the dedicated servers.

Ranting is useless at this point.

  • I would say at least make it an option for those who want it and for those who don't there is an "uncheck" box so they can't hear.

  • @FireHazard

"And what does that first sentence even mean? Whos paying the price? The only person paying the price is Ghost Face since the Survivor can just see them 1 meter away behind a wall if they're in Night Shroud. There is no counter to OoO with Ghost Face, end of story, you either chase them to get rid of them, or they stick around to ruin the entire match."

Literally means what it does. So just because you can't properly stalk, they should just trash OoO... even though it wasn't a problem (according to you) until Ghostface.

"Sneaking up on someone isn't stalking them, you have that term twisted. Yes, I can still stalk people when they spotted me, that's common knowledge. I main Myers, I know this all too well. That isn't sneaking up on someone though, sneaking up on someone is getting the drop on them when they're not expecting it. I have zero clue why you think what you said is grounds for "sneaking up on someone" that's just regular chasing at that point..."

Sneaking up meaning "When They Are Not Looking At You" Survivors don't see you 100% of the time you're in a match. I main Myers too and I've literally been able to grab survivors before I hit T1. That's the sneaky mentality I'm talking about.

Ghostface can do what Myers can within seconds, and yet No One complained that Myers has to face OoO survivors. But in your opinion, you shouldn't have to chase a survivor who can constantly see you because you just want to pick who you want to chase? Hmmm Ok.

You clearly haven't been in red ranks for more than one time...

There isn't an advantage with seeing the Survivor, I can't Mind-game them, I can't follow them if they know how to loop 20+ safety pallets, I can't ignore them because they do gens if you leave them alone, I can't go and stalk someone else if they follow you to deactivate your power. You don't see these issues huh? Play Ghost Face at red ranks for say... 10 matches, tell me how it goes :)

And no, you can't sneak up on Survivors while Night Shroud is active on a OoO user, that's literally impossible, I don't know what dimension you're in but its clearly not ours lmao.

@Firehazard So because you can't mind-game someone else has to pay the price?

Have you ever thought that maybe you are just not stalking them properly? I saw a game with you playing against survivors (None of them had OoO) yesterday as Ghostface and I can see why you are making this complaint.

Also, you CAN Sneak up on them when they are not looking at you. Just FYI. Even when survivors have spotted you, you can still stalk them. Hell, I've been spotted through a wall and in places where I am looking right at them. I've seen Ghostfaces successfully get a 4k match in red ranks so that argument is invalid.

  • The whole point of the perk is that you can see the survivor at all times, giving you an advantage which you already didn't have.

You can still sneak up on them even with OoO.

  • What is this "gen rush" you speak of?

  • Lol, I was gonna say, imagine what they'll think when they go against a Tombstone Myers. xD

  • @Redd So OP is making the observation that they have experienced a lot of "Tunneling and Camping" and you want to blame survivors for this, because they "Gen Rush". Like, what does that even mean?

Every single time a killer has complained about Gen Rush is because they haven't been catching a survivor and don't know when to stop. At some point you HAVE to break the chase or stop being paranoid and leave the hook/check lockers around the hook, or else you will hear gens pop.

@Luune The problem starts at the top. Many of the things that are available in the game, whether it be perks or items encourage a certain kind of behaviour during gameplay. Players take advantage of this (both survivors and killers), and think they are entitled to being toxic post match chat because they "won". I don't think it's fair on either side, but what are you gonna do, when some of the game's mechanics already encourage it.

  • If you're tunneling and camping, but then turn around and complain about getting "gen rushed" you know why you got "gen rushed". That's all I gotta say.

  • Notice how these people post these type of threads but never respond in it again. Lol

  • So if it keeps increasing, where does it stop?

I already think this perk is annoying enough because it slows down so much I couldnt imagine it any slower.

A survivor not healing means they are risking getting downed in one hit. So in essence the perk is also in a way forcing survivors to choose between being in a safe health state or vunerable.

  • @BunnyTheHutt I can confirm that you have to be right up the survivor’s behind in order to “count” as a protection hit. Which IMO seems pretty broken.

Funny enough this happened to me with a Billy. A friend was being camped and I went in there with BT, so I told him to take the hit, instead he panicked and ended up body blocking me and Billy used his chainsaw downed me but I got the stack.

I think there should be a fair protection hit radius considering 99% of the time the killer will switch to the person taking the hit, unless they are tunneling the survivor for a specific reason.

  • I would love it they created other “ways” to escape the trial, like fixing gens but something entirely different.

I can’t think of examples at the moment but just imagine if they had 3-4 “escape modes” and they randomize per match. I think it each match would feel fresh.

  • I can think of many times I have hated this map but I can also think of many times when I have had fun in it.

I think removing is a bit of a stretch, how about just work on it so that sounds are better?

  • To me it sounds like an interesting concept but if I’m being completely honest, the fact that it’s once again cleansing totems just seems boring.

Like I said the core concept seems interesting but it almost feels like something they would have for special events.

    Just my 2 cents

  • No thanks, I already feel like doing generators isn't exactly exciting, and now to have to do a 6th generator, just feels like the match would drag.

  • It's trash in solo survivor play. I mean, essentially it not only buys time for the killer, because if you're the only one fixing gens, you are forced to stay behind the survivor that's being chased, get picked up and take a hit then. Also, not every killer goes right back to their hook, so you can't take a hit there if they don't come back.

What they need to do is add other actions that would meet the condition, that being flashlight saves, healing a survivor from a dying state while killer is around... hell, not even the most obvious thing like blocking the killer from continuing a chase with another survivor counts... and that's literally the epitome of taking a protection hit.

  • @dannyfrog87 Yeah, its not the flashlight.

It's the current DC bug that is going around. I was playing Michael and had many matches where they had already opened the gates, and they dc'd like that as well.

  • Not a fan of first person, so it's a no from me.

  • @dannyfrog87 By any chance... is this what you saw? @ 0:21

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeZlvpOo6mw

  • Chucky from Child’s Play.

Angela from Night of The Demons.

  • @NoShinyPony That’s why I said not every match is guaranteed that way, but also not every match is guaranteed a win for survivors just because they are SWF.

My main point is you can’t play like you play against SWF like you play against solo survivors.

  • That really sucks. These are the kind of matches where I am just like ...GET ME THE HELL OUT.

Happens so much to when I play solo.

  • Maybe I’m one of the rare ones that doesn’t think SWF is a big deal, I mean I have faced 1 or 2 obnoxious groups but they ended up dying because saving their friends while acting dumb was more important to them than doing gens.

On this one match one of them was a streamer and I went to check it out (after the match ended) and all I could hear every time I left the gen they were working on was: “He’s gone now” “Nevermind, he is back! I thought you said he was gone” ....so you see you can still mind game to some capacity, plus I was playing as Michael so you better believe I 99’d my Evil Within so when I went back they fell into my trap. XD

Of course I know not EVERY match is guaranteed this way but just noting that I think some people blow the SWF advantage out of proportion.

  • So if survivors have it easy what does that say about really good killers?

Are they just lucky to get 4k matches or just play uber sweaty? Or perhaps they actually took the time to learn the game and learn to mind-game survivors.

Just because a survivor has basic pallet looping knowledge doesn't mean they have it "easy". If you have basic looping knowledge as killer you would know the do's and don'ts.

They've changed vaults now, so you should be happy that it isn't going to be so "easy" anymore.

  • @Sairek Honestly, I think protection hits being the requirement I can get behind. What I don't understand is why/how some actions that would be deemed as protection hits don't count. Seems like a half way baked idea.

  • @GenSim12345 Honestly, I only had it because I wanted to test it out through different scenarios... and yeah there are legit protection hits that are definitely not counted (for whatever reason).

I feel that if they are going to change the requirement for how it procs they also need to look at what counts as a protection hit. The game should be able to make out the difference of when someone is being chased and when someone just took a hit to break that chase.

  • Insta Heals aren't even that common anyway. So I don't get why it needs a "rework".

  • I really think each killer should have their own chase music, give the chases more variety.

  • Saying they need to go is a bit excessive tbh, especially on something that isn't always present during a match.

  • Personally I don't think insta heals are OP, but that's just me.

  • @Tsulan I play killer too, so I know all about the stigma that follows both sides. Thank you for pointing it out though, there are far more important things to worry about, like a stable game where you don't suddenly dc.

  • @Tsulan I never said they weren't did I?

  • I don't get it. Those are all things that are a part of the game.

You know what's ruining the event? The consistent DC bug that is currently plaguing both sides when in the middle of a match. Makes it for an unfun time not to mention the loss of offerings that are brought for said event.

  • In the 2.1k hours I have in this game, I don't think I have ever thought of the shack as an infinite... strong loop, yes, but definitely not an infinite.

  • What a ridiculous change.

  • @DrDeepwound I wish I could say it was the flashlight causing the game to dc survivors, but it's not. I've dc'd the same exact way as in the video with survivors who didn't have flashlights.

    @Peanits said:

For intentional DCs, we've gone over it a couple times in the developer updates. We're working on a new system and expect to have it out at the same time as dedicated servers. Until then, we'll keep handing out bans to people who do it excessively with our current system.

For unintentional disconnects, we are currently looking into it. Unfortunately that's all I can tell you right now, it's impossible to say how close a bug is to being fixed, but it is a high priority.

@Peanits Thank you for responding. I told McLean about it on his stream and also informed him that the unintentional dc doesn't have that 'dc sound' you normally hear. I don't know if this helps.

I know you guys are looking into it, and while I wish you had better news, I trust that you guys will do your best to fix this asap. It's probably the most frustrating thing at the moment because if you're playing survivor, and you have 1-2 people booted from the match it makes for a not so fun match. 5 generators to fix with 2 people alive. Not to mention if you're the person who's been disconnected, you lose your offering. The fact that it happens more often than not doesn't help either.

  • I always figured that they simply don't know how to loop. So the go-to thing to do is use the pallet as an obstacle.

  • @Ember_Hunter said:

Still, I would have games as a sparing killer with 2 people instantly DC, then while letting the last two survivors work on gens, one just disconnected out of thin air like someone snapped their fingers. Another game, I was letting a David save a basement hooked survivor, but after the save, he mysteriously just DC for no reason. Later, another David suddenly became afk with crows, and I let the other two get away.

I have also gotten numerous killer DCs for no reason, not even rage quit. And does everyone still have the infinite loading screen when trying to play survivor still?

    Edits on Autocorrect :(

@Ember_Hunter Yeah, like I said the more of us that provide feedback on the random DCs the more chances we'll have that they will actually look at these threads.

    @Peanits

  • We need to keep this conversation going because this is probably the biggest bug, and yet I feel like no one is talking about it.

How can people complain about gen-rushing and camping when you can't even last in a match for more than 5 mins? xD

    It's so frustrating.

  • So how of you has the game dc'd since the Double Blood Point started?

    I think I've hit an all-time record.

I've lost about 10 escape cakes.

  • Just because 1 person in 1 instance got the hatch in the way that it happened in your game, doesn't mean it always works out that way. To me that is what is interesting about the hatch.

It's RNG, and a lot of times it works against a downed survivor.

I've had matches where the killer got too greedy and went for the last person standing, while I crawled away and hatch spawned near me. It was luck that it spawned where it did, but it doesn't mean it always happens that way.

  • I start lobby / Ready Up/ Walk away to go get a drink/ Enter Match.

Enjoy, try to make the best of it and have fun.

Dodging is not part of my strategy.

  • @dannyfrog87 The way it looks like the survivors DC'd all at once has happened to me many times. Even when they didn't have flashlights. I personally think it's some kind of internal bug that is making people disconnect from host... same thing that happens pre-match but now mid-match. It's so weird.
