I don't think the DC issue @Gardenia is talking about has anything to do with graphic settings... over half of the friends I've played with and a good portion of randoms I have played with have been getting disconnected mid-match out of thin air.
It's kind of baffling to me that not one dev has responded to any of the posts suggesting there is a DC bug when there are countless of streamers who have this on video.
This is what it exactly what it looks like on killer side: @ 0:21
(The video claims it was due to Nea flashing her flashlight, but its not, it happens for no reason)

@Carpemortum I agree 1000%.
I didn't have a problem playing against old MoM, let alone new MoM. Some people just will find a way to complain and use THEIR losses as an excuse for a perk to be "too strong".
I said it before and I'll say it again. People will still post these type of threads because they simply don't like MoM.
-
@TragicSolitude It happens the exact same way when I play killer... all survivors dc on my screen but on theirs it shows that I dc'd. Then the post match chat shows that they all escaped. Lol
This issue is top priority IMO because the game is literally unplayable. They have an event right now where people are using offerings to get even extra points and take advantage and those offerings are lost. (Not the ones where the match gets cancelled but the ones where the dc happens mid match).
Also not to mention it cripples the team, and it's just not a fun time. Like I said I hope that they see this post and at least make a mention of what they plan to do because I know for a fact it's not just a hand full of people experiencing this dc bug issue.
-
@Jplanas98 It seems like this dc bug became an issue right around when the Plague patch was released.
-
Another "random" dc in the middle of a match...happened as I was running from a Plague.
Had a cake offering too that I lost.
-
I don't think Spirit is OP... and from my experience she is fun to play against because of how unpredictable she is.
-
Why would a new player want all characters at once anyway?
-
I must be weird cuz I never expect a thank you from anyone when I play killer. I mean, I did it for me and my points.
-
You realize at the moment, the game is randomly dc'ing people too right?
A current bug in the game. You know the difference because there is no sound when it shows that the survivor dc's.
-
It keeps acting as if the host DC'd, but they don't.
On their end, I dc'd and the dc has no sound whatsoever.
@dannyfrog87 Someone told me that it was due to internet connection, but that is impossible considering the people I've been playing with are in an entirely different side of the country.
It's just frustrating... I've already lost a ton of offerings because this dc does eat them, unlike the "match cancelled".
-
Another one. I was fixing a gen, vaulted through a window and this was the result.
(Mind you, 1 survivor was on a hook, the other 2 fixing gens)
-
@not_Queen @Peanits This is kind of ridiculous, considering there is an event going on.
This isn't someone intentionally hitting the "Leave Match" button. This is the game booting people while running/fixing gens/getting downed basically happening for no reason.
I ask that you guys please look into this, as many are reporting it as normal DCs. I've confirmed it isn't when I've played against/with people streaming the game.
-
This DC bug has been happening since when the Plague came out.
I've been in 5 matches in the last hour and the game booted 4 times, me while in running animation.
Puts me in the post match chat screen with the screen looking like the killer dc'd and the other survivors escaped. Which isn't the case at all.
-
How about also, fix any dc bugs that the game might have that make it unfun and especially when you have an event which encourages to use offerings for extra points.
-
What is even the point of this thread?
To advice us of the toxicity that we all know exists in this game, even when it's not double BP day? Lol
-
You think killer mains complain about DS and Mettle now...
-
I think it's an unfortunate situation... but if you play it right, you could flip it around and gen bait him. It sounds crazy I know, but you can pull it off with the right teammates.
-
I've had this same issue.
Map rng is not my friend tonight
-
Tunneling is a real thing.
Whether you think it's ok or not. You did it for your own reasons (strategy, got triggered by a T-Bag, got looped for days, you are map blind....etc)
The bigger question is, Who Cares?
Usually if I survivor tries to call me out on a little bit of tunneling, I simply respond with "I don't tell you how to play your game, and nor should you tell me how I play mine."
Simple.
-
@Aari_Piggy66 I understand what you're saying now.
Look, I know the perk is pretty strong, I don't think anyone can disagree with that. I've already said before that I already use the perk as we are now going to be meant to use it with protection hits. So I don't even know why I am sounding like I have a problem with the change. lol
My opinion was based on my own experience playing with and against it. I've had moments where I wanted to pull my hair because this person deliberately wanted me to go for them (because they knew they had Mettle proc'd) while the rest were fixing the last gen or something. So I understand the pain in that sense. However, I can't really sit here and say that the person who was tunneled for an entire match did not deserve the extra hit. Regardless of how they obtained that, they basically carried the team.
The change will go through and hopefully it balances out in a way that both parties are happy.
Thanks for taking the time and discussing with me, while being open to other perspectives even if we disagree on some parts, not many people who do that around here.
-
The entire reason why I even voiced my opinion was because I didn't think Mettle was in as bad of place as many people make it sound. Not everyone was using it as many claimed, many didn't even get to use it at all. (From my experience playing killer)
Your whole argument is about how Mettle doesn't have a counter, and yet they created no counter. Are you going to not hit a survivor trying to take a protection hit now? It will have the same exact result. I won't be surprised if (the same) killer players still complain about it after the change goes through.
We can agree to disagree on Spirit Fury, because I think there are many things that can factor into getting a pallet down before the stun. I mean, as it is, you can throw the pallet down and the killer run up to it (while being 4 feet from it) while it's down and still count as a stun. I've gotten stunned in places I shouldn't have. Still this perk has little to no counter, so I was just comparing it's similarities of how very little effort it took to proc it, much like Mettle.
-
@PigNRun Oh cool! I think I already got it too and I didn't even know haha
-
Is there one for making the killer miss a hit while in a chase already?
I think that one would be cool.
I like your suggestion OP. :D
-
I already play other games, DBD isn't the only game I play.
-
Map pressure is also not tied to the Killer Core Power, it's also the way the PLAYER plays.
I've seen good Wraiths, I've seen bad Wraiths.
I've seen good Huntresses, I've seen bad Huntresses.
It boils down to getting outplayed/making mistakes on either side. It's not purely the objective.
-
@NightmareReborn I 110% agree with you.
Unless people actually all bring toolboxes, I don't get this "gen rushing".
If you apply pressure to the gens, you won't get "gen rushed" it's that simple.
-
A counter isn't simply preventing it, but getting rid of it counts as a counter. It guarantees you will not see it again.
So how can you counter the perk now? Or are you going to pretend like you don't need to hit anyone? The full effect was and is still there.
"However the current version of MoM will always waste time that the killer just doesn't have."
Oh. I wasn't aware that we were on a killer's watch. I'll make sure that next time I'm in a chase, I don't get chased for too long.
-
@Miasma So you are suggesting that you remain in the same exact spot, only to get hit one more time in the same spot. Yikes.
-
How about people make threads about Disconnects when the game stops dc'ing people out of the blue.
-
@k7142001 I initally compared Spirit Fury with MoM only because people keep saying "You don't have to work hard to get MoM to proc"... not because of what each perk does.
It really puzzles me how as killer it is so easy to proc SF (multiple times), b/c all you have to do is break 3 pallets, but no one has an issue with that. There are no multiple threads about how powerful this perk is... why? Because people learned to accept and adapt.
Imagine if it was nerfed in the same fashion as MoM and the pallets were now linked to obsession, so only pallets the obsession drops count as a stack. People would lose their minds.
-
Same, they are so rare anyway.
-
@ChesterTheMolester Were they actually going to have that in-game? lol
-
@NoShinyPony Not really, but it's cool.
Have a nice day.
-
Lol if only, I would trade a a chainsaw for Mettle ;)
-
@NoShinyPony Ok. Got it. So for Mettle, you chase a survivor and once the perk procs, you just hit them again. That's also not a hard concept to grasp.
If balance isn't just accounting for the effect, (as you yourself pointed out) why is it that Spirit Fury procs much easier, and more times than Mettle? I mean let's not pretend you have to actually work for that either.
I am not even defending the current MoM, I already said I myself use it as the devs now want us to use it. I am just trying to make a point that it isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. That it might just be the way they play, as I myself haven't had an issue playing killer against it. Half of the people who had it during my matches never got to use it, it never even proc'd.
-
@drunky26 actually the "crutch" perk as you call it is still there. Or did you not see the notes on the change?
-
@NoShinyPony Again, how exactly is SF counter-able? Other than communication in SWF telling you a killer has it? Please explain. (also adding that you get this perk to proc multiple times).
What it does won't be gone, only the way it is obtained. So if the perk is unbalanced (according to you) why do they keep the full effect? and furthermore, if it is un-counterable... how do you counter it now? because it is still the same result as before. Only chances now is that you might not get as many of them to proc. That's it.
I mean, it's not like this is going to stop people from complaining or creating threads about how powerful this perk is.
-
"Killers are a joke" That's why Momma Entity is there to hook you up, in endgame. ;)
-
@NoShinyPony Yeah I brought it up, I never once said I didn't.
See, this is the problem I see with a lot of why some people feel that certain perks are an issue. You present a scenario which doesn't always apply to every match.
Just because you have experienced players who might expect Spirit Fury...doesn't mean they know for a fact. I mean that's not even like saying your obsession might have Mettle because you already know it's gonna be either DS or Mettle. You don't even question it. My point was in a lot of ways the non-countering parts of each perk are similar. They are both meant to be strong, with hardly any counterplay.

@Johnny_XMan "Just hit the survivor one more time" - it's not a counter when the player was able to fully benefit from the perk. That's no counter at all.
At least MoM is going to get changed in a reasonable way, so we don't have to discuss this thing anymore.
Ok, well I respectfully disagree.
The perk itself is meant to be strong, therefore hardly having a counter at all.
Also, not everything in this game has a "counter". Let's go back to Spirit Fury, so you say drop the pallet a 'tad' early... Like a survivor is suppose to know the killer has this perk (much like the killer doesn't know the survivor has Mettle). This perk procs without notice, without a counter... same with Mettle. Imagine if they made it so only pallets that stun killers count towards their stacks.
It seems to me that people aren't upset at how you obtain the effect, but the effect itself.
-
Fun, Adrenaline rising, heroic moments, getting out alive when you thought you were dead.
-
Will Lori's hair be changed in the same way as many other hairs in PTB 3.0.0? https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/107/O9J7ZCTA6J0T.jpg
They said in the recent Q&A that they will be reviewing other hair as well... those were just the ones that they got to atm.
-
I understand the frustration comes from Ghostface's design, but we shouldn't discount every other killer that the devs have released that were done properly.
When Plague came out her design wasn't as bad as Ghostface's, for example. She needed to be tweaked here and there, but that's about it.
I do agree that there should be some kind of a whitelist somewhere between conceptual state - to - PTB, that could get asked opinions on stuff. I think they should pick people who are mostly positive and open minded... and who understand the game more than most.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
@Johnny_XMan You know you can easily counter Spirit Fury by just dropping the pallet a tad earlier...
You can also counter mettle by hitting the survivor one more time.
-
They mentioned that they will be working on other survivors' hair as well.
Just didn't get to them this time.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get your stacks. You can give it a try in the PTB, if you like. You can reliably get a stack by taking a hit when the killer is carrying a survivor to the hook, as well as a second stack by taking a hit near an injured survivor.
It is meant to be hard to get considering the powerful effect of the perk.
Sure, let me leave the generator I'm working on from the other side of the map to come take a hit while the survivor that is keeping the killer busy is now downed and being carried....
If you guys are implementing this change, then I suggest ALL hits should count, not just M1's.
-
I mean if all a killer has to do is break 3 pallets to get Spirit Fury to proc, survivors should be more than able to take 3 protection hits. (sarcasm)
I've always taken hits for people while using the current MoM, and I did it at the risk that the killer might not chase me so I can get the stacks. I think people that complain about mom (not all) just simply don't like the effect, I bet you 100% there will still be threads after this nerf about how OP this perk still is.
-
A perk that practically goes unused if you outplay and the gens are never finished.
Sorry, but I disagree, it's not OP, strong yes.
-
Lmao, this is the funniest post I've seen today.
