  • “Facing SWF is hard so please give me something easier”

  • Honestly you play and do what you feel you need to do... regardless of how “scummy” it might seem. Obviously the survivor saving was not playing at optimal level. Taking a hit or giving up a hook matters in this game.

I just wish the “Nerf DS” threads would stop after this.

Here the thing all of those things was not nerf but change to make the game more balance so killers can play the game. And no survivors don't adapt they just drop the strategy they have.

adapt: to change, or to change something, to suit different conditions or uses

@DarkGGhost They were nerfs. Nerfs are also used to balance the game. Stop thinking being so close minded in thinking that only killers adapt.

When DS was changed many players did not like it but they got used to it... they adapted.

  • They released Shirtless David, now it’s time for Pantless David... he can keep the shirt on cuz it might get cold.

Bloodlust = Devs are unable to fix any map so they give killer bloodlust ( and they nerf it ) in order to cut loop that can be infinite.

Exhaustion = Same loop can keep a killer for the hole cooldown of the Exhaustion perk giving survivors a free escape so instead of fixing loop they give you this.

Healing Nerf = Devs can't create a second objective and are scared to make anything to the gens so they nerf they only thing they could ( oh by the way survivors get free heat at 17 of the month).

Pallet Nerf = Right now with one pallet you can run a killer around it for 3-4 time think how bad was when you have 2-3 pallet side by side. The vacuum was there because there was a bug with the animation and could put the killer inside the pallet so the remove it until they fix ti and they the do.

With almost every patch they add more and more pallets to the point in same maps you can get double pallets. For the second part well yes but actually no they put smaller loops and more unsafe but they give you more pallets and if you run those loops correct it like an infinite.

@DarkGGhost The point is these were nerfs designed for survivors. Some of which are dated (bloodlust).

I understand why they brought them to the game, I was merely explaining that survivors adapt too.

With Bloodlust, more unsafe pallets don’t mean anything when the killer can just go around them and swing. Most of them ignore pallets if they have bloodlust built up.

    How ridiculous I sound?

Yea, back then there were literal infinites, they were changed because it was bad game design, just like blocking the hook was bad game design, not killers adapting.

But of course, killers blocking hooks = "adapting" according to the first comment I replied to, survivors using infinites = abusing mechanics.

This repetitive notion that killers are hard done by is hilarious, and washed out, the game has NEVER been easier for killers as it is now, but you're all here trying to get DS nerfed even more.

@SenzuDuck I wish I could give you more likes. You hit it right in the nail.

Some people don’t understand games evolving and requiring balance changes and design changes for things that may have looked good on paper back when.

I personally find DS to be in the best place it’s been. It’s powerful but it also CAN lose its value if the killer plays smart. Whereas before the only way it lost its value was if the survivor missed the skill check.

  • I mean...

You are not forced to slug for the 4K. Plenty just hook the other person let them save and get both players down when they are close to each other.

OR bring BBQ to see the person’s aura.

No one forces you to slug. That might just be what you yourself have to do to get a 4K.

  • My body is ready!

    I can’t contain the excitement!!!!

Killers did adapt; survivors simply demanded nerfs every time we did. Every time, they got exactly what they asked for.

Survivors started abusing pallets to grief and farm rather than escape chases, killers complained, got told to 'just adapt' and we did. The devs then buffed pallets to make them foolproof so our adaptation to them no longer worked, because survivors complained about killers being able to adapt to this.

Survivors broke all the hooks, making it impossible for a killer to win if the basement was in a corner of the map. Survivors said 'just adapt', so we did. The devs then gave survivors buffs and killers nerfs to stop slugging at the end of the match where survivors die on the floor because of a situation they created. Eventually we got the regenerating hooks, almost a year after they were needed.

Survivors swarmed hooks for rescues, whilst accusing killers of 'camping' when we never had a chance to even leave the damn thing and as no survivors were doing gens, had no reason to. 'Just adapt' they said again, so we combined the perks Unrelenting and Save The Best For Last to speed-up melee cooldown and prevent hook-swarms. The survivors screamed so much about this, how dare we prevent them from getting away with constant in-game trolling, farming and abusiveness, the devs over-nerfed both perks beyond what survivors even asked for. No explanation was ever given for why the devs made the changes they did here.

Even survivors thought what they did was too much, but shrugged their shoulders and said 'good killer will just adapt' and we did: seeing as survivors were refusing to do gens anyway and always swarming the hook, we blocked the space for unhooking with 'face-camping'. They went ballistic; how dare killers keep adapting after we dismiss their complaints every time by telling them to J U S T A D A P T !

The devs buffed them: Trapper had the ability to put traps under hooks taken away(and this was disingenously listed as a bug-fix) and survivors are now able to unhook from multiple angles.

When is it survivors turn to 'just adapt'? Because it seems to me that whenever they encounter the slightest resistance in-game, their meta is to demand changes from the devs and almost the absolute majority of the time, they get what they ask for.

    @Acromio

    • Bloodlust

    • Exhaustion

    • Healing Nerf

    • Pallet Nerf (# of pallets on map reduction, pallet vacuum removed).

    • More pallet nerfs coming with reworked maps and unsafe pallets.

Survivors do adapt. What are you taking about?

DS technically got a nerf by adding a timer and only being able to use it after a hook. Yet here we are with more threads about nerfing it.

Survivors will ALWAYS find a way to work around the nerfs. Going into a locker is a strategy just as much as slugging is. Both probably annoying but both smart if you can pull it off.

In fact, let me paraphrase myself.

So I saw earlier where a post talking about Legion needing a buff and one person kept saying "Legion is a bunch of angry teens. It makes sense there power sucks." Which made me go and find a post I saw in a discussion trying to say "1 Vs. 1 is unfair." in which a Dev says

It's definitely not meant to be fair. At that point, the survivors have failed to finish the generators and failed to find the hatch first. The EGC is meant to end the game at that point, not give you a 50/50 chance of escaping. If anything, it would be unfair to the killer to give the survivor an even chance at escaping after they've beaten the survivor multiple times by that point.

Alot of people seem to forget this is an asymmetrical game. 4 vs. 1. You are not supposed to be able to go toe to toe with the Killer, because the Killer has to be as strong as 4 Survivors or at least keep up with them. The community as a whole seems to have forgotten this, (I had one guy arguing with me that the Entity doesn't buff up the Killers at all) and why this makes things a nightmare to balance.

The Legion nerf is a very good example of this. There power, cause of some exploits, is so broken and weighted down that it is useless. IF you miss, you lose your power and get a 4 second stun. If you hit, you can keep going but that next survivor can just SB away and you eat the stun. If you m1, You lose half your bar and can't use your power. Legion with the reduced vaulting and all is easy to loop. All cause they had no "Counter Play."

Saying that a Killer is broken because of "Lack of Counter Play." or "If the Killer sees you, you can't get away unless they get distracted." or "1 vs. 1 I can't beat them." Is a weak excuse when you remember the nature of this game. You need to use your skill in Looping and/or hiding to lose the Killer. It's just something to say to try and give your point merit. Old Legion needed a fix then, but not the orbital strike of a nerf they got. All cause there was an easy to fix exploit and enough people got upset... cause they forgot that the 1, is supposed to be as strong or stronger than the 4.

@UlvenDagoth That 1v1 post has nothing to do with how broken a mechanic can be.

Players understand that during the EGC it’s no longer a 50/50 chance to get out, but they want to make it interactive and yet it isn’t. So you’re confusing the request from some and summing up your own conclusion about who is the “power role”.

Back to Legion, he is not meant to be running around at a high speed (negating many of the mechanics that serve as survivors’ only defense) downing everyone in Frenzy mode. You have to be able to distinguish what is broken and what is not even if it is “fun”.

IMO Legion’s mend mechanic needs to change to something else because to me that has always been his most boring aspect from survivor perspective. He should be able to run around as much as he wants to gain distance (Kind of like the Hillbilly) but balance him around chases.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/681131#Comment_681131

Slugging is not an exploit... I use it to get people off gens. I hook one guy he gets unhooked I slug him then down the rescuer guy and hook the unhooked guy to kill him faster. Or he can just go in a locker after unhook and just wait there because that's a very skillful outplay and totally has no counters whatsoever because the 90% survivor community wants to have a easy braindead game that's completly in their favour. Or I'll hook the rescuer find the first guy I hooked and down him quickly then get d striked even after I hooked someone else. But no I'm just an entitled player that just wants a logical change and to stop the locker exploit with d strike how could I?

@ThirdSealOPplzNerf So slugging someone is a legit strat but using DS to its full potential is not? K.

By slugging you deny a DS, by jumping into a locker as a survivor you deny the Slug. It’s that simple.

I usually just eat the DS because as others said, you don’t wanna deal with it during EGC. By someone jumping into a locker they are giving you information that they have it.

Youll thank yourself later when the DS survivor gets unhooked during EGC and you’re trying to slug near the exit gate while they crawl and you have no choice but to pick them up.

  • I find PGTW more effective IMO. With that being said, that also depends on your ability to catch a survivor, if you have trouble during chases I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • I wish they would do some Aquatic type creature... like Yacuruna.

Basically similar to creature from Black Lagoon or Abe Sapien from Hellboy.

  • So many to choose from...

As killer I really like the Tragic Love Opera Wraith costume.

As survivor I love Parachute Dwight. 😍

  • How is it an exploit when you’re slugging and practically doing the same thing?

A locker nearby isn’t always accessible 24/7. If that happens it’s a legit strat. Besides why are you going back to tunnel the person who just got unhooked? If you get DS’d that’s on you for going after the guy that just got unhooked.

  • They need to rework the protection hits system.

The extra hit is fine if it is earned.

  • Lmao I can't.

They should make it so there is a perk that slows down hook times... go from instant to 30 seconds.

  • Wait he had pinky finger too??

Can we stop linking Tru3 videos as if every killer plays like this? Lol

  • @malloymk said:

Yeah. Like talking to a wall. Maybe the chase music is too loud and Johnny just can't hear me.

Obviously agree to disagree at this point.

For one killer while using their specific power to hear better because they can't see survivors, the sound is fine therefore it's fine for everyone. Close thread I guess.

    You’re funny. :)

”Killer can hear better because they can’t see survivors.”

Now that’s funny. Somehow you’re deaf and your killer is now blind too? Lol

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/679698#Comment_679698

That's because the music stops being loud when you phase... how did you fail to notice that?

@Weck How did you fail to notice that I said I don’t play her, I was doing a ritual.

Point still being... the music lowers (which is borderline OP, IMO) and you want it even lower than that?

    No thanks.

  • @malloymk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/679698#Comment_679698

Spirit phase walking is fine as it is, but literally that's just one killer.

Also, the music is just too loud period. For killers and survivors. If Stridor is effected my chase and end game music, then there definitely is an issue.

@malloymk Spirit Phase is fine as it is at the moment and so is the chase music.

  • @malloymk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/679683#Comment_679683

Gotta disagree with you here. If I'm wearing a decent head set (I do) and running Stridor and you're injured and loss hearing of grunts of pain because the music is too loud, it's not wanting my hand held. It's wanting to get full use out of perks.

Also, it's not even all from a competitive advantage standpoint. I just think the music is annoyingly loud if I have to shout into my headset like some old man because I can't even hear my own voice. It's just obnoxious and unfun (like mashing x to struggle).

@malloymk Yesterday I was doing a Spirit ritual (I never play her) and I could hear exactly where the survivor was grunting while I was phasing.

Not saying I’m a Spirit expert but if I can hear it that clear, I can’t imagine some killers not having an extremely good advantage... and most of all with a character that you can only half way predict where she is coming from.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/679671#Comment_679671

Wouldn't that just make the music louder anyway?

And are you saying a slider for music volume is bad? Because that's all everyone wants

No, it means some of us can hear survivors through the music.

Some people on here legit want the easy way. No surprise there though.

Spirit mains would have a field day, she is already OP as it is in instances where she can hear exactly where the survivor is grunting. We don’t need it broken.

  • Get that ear wax out.

Chase music seems fine to me.

  • The problem some people fail to see is that at some point once the hatch is closed IT IS impossible to open a gate.

Which to me is so weird considering a lot of you (Yes YOU) were so against hatch camping being a thing. We went from one extreme to another and it just became unfun again.

You expect to touch a gen and hide touch a gen and hide the entire time? Smdh

Also, stop saying “You’ve already had your chance...blah blah blah” When you virtually cannot open a gate to even consider it a “chance”.

  • @se05239 said:

You could just.. close the chat window and leave it permanently closed.

    Would save you the sanity.

@se05239 Apparently only 1% of the DBD community does that.

  • I wish someone would make a parody video about this video because at this point people are milking it. LOL

  • Hitboxes win a lot of matches in this game. I'll agree with that.

  • @immortalls96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/676290#Comment_676290

Mhm..no we have no control over how fast gens get done..this has been shown a long time ago , and if your team is going down you should be on gens..therefore your clock is quite in your control

@immortalls96 You do have control over how fast gens get done, then why do many killers who properly apply gen pressure don't have this problem?

"Team is going down so you should do gens" And just let them die??

I don't deny that at times gens can go quite fast, but you seem to look at things one-sided. BOTH killer and survivors are capable of pressuring. Maybe you say this because you have this problem in your matches, but I don't always have a problem with gens getting done too quick, sometimes they don't even get to complete one.

  • On the topic at hand... MoM should keep its benefit.

They should fix protection hits instead. They changed the condition to work with something that is currently broken.

  • @immortalls96 Oh right, so we’re not on the clock but when teammates start to get hooked and no gens are being done, we can just sit there and gens will magically get done right?

You fail to understand that YOU can somewhat control your own clock whereas we depend on OTHER people to balance our own clock.

  • The bigger question is why did they feel the need to nerf these perks? lol

  • Somehow I read the entire post in a sarcastic sounding voice. Lmao

Personally I find her a bit annoying because she takes the fun out of a chase. At least with Nurse you have LOS and it makes the chase interesting and mindgameable on BOTH sides.

Half of the times when I have properly mind gamed a good Spirit has been out of pure playing dumb. Ending up in an unsafe zone because that’s the only place she didn’t think I would go.

  • So if you only run it for The BPs... do you close your eyes as you hook someone? 🙃

  • The key is to have a good team.

Your TEAM decides what the outcome will be. It doesn’t matter if you can loop, if your teammates are too afraid to touch a gen, this will hurt any possibility you might have had to escape as a team.

Sometimes common sense beats any perk or looping ability.

Do people honestly think getting to rank 1 is that hard? It is easy most people honestly don't want yo

@MathiaStef Camping usually means you won’t get a pip.

I think that’s what @ElusivePukka is referring to.

  • From my experience they do it because they aren’t good.

They will chase someone through 5 gens, and use No Ed as their last resort after not successfully catching a survivor.

  • Play With Your Food.

    Rancor

    Dark Devotion

    Remember Me

All perks that don’t force you to leave obsession alone. (Rancor partially since you have to wait till all gens are done to mori).

  • Slug, Go for someone else.

It's that simple. Lockers aren't accessible to a survivor 24/7.

  • I wish DBD had a better tutorial system tbh.

  • I don’t think the hooks should change with the killer, they should change with the map.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/653213#Comment_653213

This completely disregards the many times a killer can not prevent the 5th gen from popping, doesn’t have endgame perks prepared, an ability that doesn’t exactly help during this crucial part of the trial, gates spawns are miles apart, and so the killer may as well throw their hands in the air and not bother either.

@DudeDelicious Totally different scenarios but I’ll bite.

The 5th gen had a potential to not be completed per the killer’s ability to map pressure and map awareness. So there is some control over it. Where the hatch spawns however, isn’t decided by survivors only by where the map rng decides it to spawn.

Again, I don’t even know how they compare to each other because they are two totally different things.

All I am asking for the spawn location of the hatch being next to the exit gate to change.

    @Mtom912

    He overcommits big time.

I also think it’s silly that a video of a new killer he is probably still learning is being shown as evidence. I just started learning Spirit myself and I have experienced matches where I’ve over committed because I want to learn her more during chases, so I’m not really playing to win. Im certainly not going to use it as evidence tho.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/671160#Comment_671160

First off, the killer role is not supposed to be equal to the survivor. Not every killer perk needs a survivor equivalent. Not every killer's power needs a counter. The survivor role is not one of a hero. It is the struggle to survive against an "unstoppable" monster.

Early versions of the game the arguable equivalent to the Mori was the BNP addon. A simple addon could do 20% of the survivor objective with a simple spacebar tap and four could be brought into a single trial. The old mori was able to do 25% of the killer's objective with the only requirement being they had to catch you first.

Old BNP and old Mori were arguably broken. I've had 0% gens completed in chase by the very survivor I was chasing. I've been Mori'd shorty after the start of a trial when one hook wasn't a requirement. Yeah it's not "fun".

But these "unfun" elements have been tone down. No longer are four survivors capable of completing 80% of their object in an instant as the killer is incapable of 25% in one chase.

When it comes down to it, the Mori is a selling feature of the game. To remove it or make it cumbersome to use will hurt the appeal and usefulness of a rare or ultra rare offering.

Is it impossible to win against an Ebony? No. Four man escapes are not uncommon even with a mori in play. As long as you and your team know how to hold M1 and not be a potato in chase, that Ebony will go to waste.

    *slow claps*

A lot of assumptions there but I’ll give credit where it’s due.

Obviously I wasn’t asking for there to be an equivalent for survivors I was simply agreeing with OP that it is unfun in matches where the killer simply camps the hook to get that mori.

Secondly, that there is NO survivor equivalent to a Killer’s mori even tho the majority that play killer here want to believe that there is. I wasn’t saying there should be, ONLY that there currently isn’t a feature like that.

Ive won against Ebony moris before, I’m not arguing that point. However, I’m not going to sit there and lie to anyone and say that I don’t think they are crazy OP.

I play killer too and moris (IMO) are boring. They are cool the first 2-3 times they are used but after that they lose the coolness factor for me.

  • Wait, they changed this hair again??
