  • Very cool.

I looked at it and immediately reminds me of Pennywise.

  • This must be a joke.

This "problem" is a result of connection delay. Try to hit Meg in the tutorial towards the end of her pallet vault animation. The hit won't connect if she's "visibly" on the other side of the pallet.

Those kinda hits will get even worse once the dedicated servers drop. People will get hit even when they're already running after vaulting pallets/windows.

    @Yamaoka

Good. I’m sure there will be another year of complaining about bs hits.

Can’t really time your next move when you got connection/latency/overall hit box issues in the way.

This is a fundamental issue with the game and the fact that some people think that because a “survivor” brings it up means it has no merit baffles me considering it is a problem that occurs on both sides.

  • My problem is when you are clearly landing on the other side.

This is the same problem I have when you get hit through a pallet... you can be on the other side already but because you haven’t come to a full stop you get hit.

This is a problem obviously regardless of your bias.

  • You make it sound like “everyone” is crying but they’re not. they keep coming back for more.

Bhvr must be doing something right then. Many of the things you’ve listed...in fact, all of them are subjective. My motto is “Not every match is the same”... for either side.

If the game was unfun and boring we would see a decline in the number of players playing.

  • I think this perk is meant to be very situational which in this game usually means useless.

I mentioned this earlier. In the vid you can see me flicking my cam to see if anyone was nearby, seeing no one I decided to eat the pallet for a faster cd and down the Claudette. Had I gone over to the side where the other gens were I'd have just fatigued, and have to wait 20s for my power to come up. Claud would've mended by the time i got to the other side and hopped back on the gen or self-cared. Probably worked on the gen cuz no one brought self-care.

So, I'd have one survivor I'd be chasing as a basic killer cuz 20s cd + 4s fatigue which would've cost me 2 gens minimum. Then I'd have to chase whoever it was, probably Kate she was the closest iirc on the far left gen. By then I'd have lost Claud's gen, and had an even worse spread of gens to defend.

@Caretaker My bad, I don’t play Legion much and I didn’t know his Frenzy had a radius limit.

For me personally, I think gens as fine, what I think needs to change is killer abilities. Legion already needs a rework IMO, he isn’t excelling at which is he all about... Running.

I said this in another post and I’ll say it again.. change his Frenzy to be used to gain distance and at the end of his Frenzy give him an ambush attack that gives deep wounds from which survivors have to find special bandages to get patched up. To balance it out, only allow Frenzy to be used while not in a chase. In essence this does 2 things... gives Legion more versatility but also gives survivors “things to do” that aren’t “hold M1 for x seconds”.

Think if Legion worked like Hillbilly (getting from one place to another) but without the insta down, instead he would feel more agile and fast.

  • Why didn’t you use frenzy to get information of where the rest of the survivors were in the beginning?

I understand you wanted to keep chasing that Claudette but honestly you don’t even bother to look before she pallet stuns you and takes your power away.

Would this have guaranteed that you wouldn’t have lost 3 gens? Not sure. Not without knowing what items/perks they have. What I do know is that had you checked, left that Claudette to mend... she would have had to mend giving you time to find others and do the same, thus putting pressure at the start of the match.

  • Essentially the portal becomes a trap. Much like the Hag can set traps.

Its where you have to gate bait and someone is gonna have to get chased, otherwise everyone has to work as a team to seal the portal.

  • I don’t think so.

Being able to see a rank could mean “tunneling the highest rank”.

I don’t wanna have to think about rank when I’m chasing the low rank person.

  • Show us receipts when you get to red ranks.

  • I really miss the button, it’s not the biggest issue in the world but very convenient indeed.

    Well I have to disagree.

Once survivors know who they’re up against (when it’s a stealth based killer), and that their detection perks are countered by stealth, it’ll be much more prudent for the survivor to use their own situational awareness, and perhaps be more cautious too.

    @DudeDelicious

Undetectable should not be a 24/7 status effect just because you’re crouched.

As I mentioned before... even Michael’s T1 EW undetectable feels more balanced (He is slower while staying fairly visible).

They should have at least changed detection perks to be more in line with these changes not completely render them useless. More specifically Spine Chill and Premonition.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/694315#Comment_694315

Which still has nothing to do with the 2 new status effects anyway

@DudeDelicious Well you used Michael as an example and I happen to main him... so I thought I’d give my 2 cents because he is not anywhere near being Pig/Wraith/Ghostface stealthy.

You really don’t realize how powerful being stealthy as a killer is until you are able to gen grab as Michael. I never felt the NEED for more stealth on him, so I guess I should thank the devs for giving him an unnecessary status effect.

If the status applies each time they crouch or cloak, that to me makes some survivor perks seem useless. Especially on perks that weren’t even anywhere near OP to begin with. They can rework stealth all they want, just don’t trash perks along the way.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87868/new-status-effects

    Good grief, you’re overreacting.

These status effects will NOT be as impactful as how dramatically you imply.

Using Myers as an example, these detection perks in question only don’t work while he is in tier 1 EW, something that was ALREADY APPLICABLE before the introduction of these 2 new status effects.

@DudeDelicious The only difference is that Michael can’t crouch and is much slower in T1 EW.

  • It’s only day one give it some time before you get used to it.

  • I died looking at a baby Dweet’s hair, they definitely changed it.

  • I mean they have made add ons that completely take out perks so why not continue with status effects. Lol

  • Eh, as long as the characters are actually good, Idc.

  • Agreed. This is long overdue...

I wanna see a creepy chase music for my Wraith 😈

  • Unplayable is a bit of an overstatement IMO, unfun on the other hand...

To me, he is unfun because his mobility which should be his “thing” feels neutered. He should feel like Hillbilly without the insta-down.

Obviously his run is more precise and easier to maneuver than the chainsaw but my idea is basically to allow him to use his Frenzy for a longer period and at the very end trigger a “ambush” attack that he has to time well...(think demogorgon’s power). This attack would be optional to use so if Legion doesn’t want to use it Frenzy ends without the long animation he has now.

The downside would be that he cannot use his Frenzy during a chase, since the main thing would be that he uses his power as sort of like a “travel” power. His add ons could be updated to allow him to vault faster.

They also need to change the mending Mechanic for survivors because it is very monotonous and currently feels unfun. They could play with his Ambush attack wounds and it could be something like “Patch up with these special bandages” or you go into dying state from where you can only be healed by a teammate and only by using these special bandages.

These are just some random thoughts, this coming from someone who wasn’t a fan of Legion in the beginning but who understands that his mobility is what he seems to be mostly about.

When you see the Legion trailer, you immediately get a shot of him running, and that’s pretty much what inspired my idea.

  • As corny as this thread sounds... I'd rather 1000x read this than bickering and complaining threads.

    Thanks for spreading the positivity!

  • Oh don't worry you can hear her "foot stomping" and "grass moving" and apparently juke grass.

  • @savevatznick said:

Disable it if you hook someone else.

    Other than that it's fine.

@savevatznick DS is not strictly an anti-tunnel perk only.

Also, many killers (ones that usually tunnel) are so bad that they will lose the survivor and keep looking until they come across them again to start tunneling again.

  • @DrVeloxcity said:

You can hear her footsteps, and you can scratch mark juke. You also have Spine Chill to see where she actually is and see if she is mind gaming you by actually phasing or pretending to be phasing. Iron Will so that she can't hear you. Lightweight will make your scratch marks disappear faster. Spine Chill also allows you to prepare for her arrival in advance so that she might not even spot you.

I played a match earlier against a Rank 4 Spirit and I looped her for 3 gens. It's not easy against Spirit, but it is certainly possible. You just need to be ready to think quick, expect mindgames, and mindgame her yourself.

@DrVeloxcity Spine Chill doesn't tell you where she is. Only if the killer is looking in your direction.

The problem I have with her is while in phase mode you her survivors VERY clear when injured, so not being able to physically see them and 'mind gaming' using your own scratch marks means nothing.

At least the survivors look different. No need for it to become more monotonous.

@NoShinyPony Everyone has different playstyles so I think that's subjective.

Besides this would probably encourage those characters that hardly get touched to be used more often (Tapp, Quentin, Jeff) and open up more build ideas with perks.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

We see this suggestion here on the forums on a regular basis. The problem is: Some passive abilities are way stronger than others. This would lead to less variety and people playing the same characters all the time.

@NoShinyPony I mean isn't that what perks already do?

    Different characters, same meta perks.

  • I agree they should have a small passive "power".

It would make them more unique IMO.

  • Welcome to the Huntress' Hatches world where the size of the hatchet is the size of a window.

Huntress is the highest offender when it comes to hitbox bs hits.

  • @SaltyFries said:

GEN RUSH GEN RUSH GEN RUSH XD. Seriously though playing survivor(especially since recent rank reset), is so easy. Just do generators, I swear last game lasted 4 minutes. I don't blame killers for dcing XD

@SaltyFries I wish the people I went into matches did gens as you say.

I was in red ranks before the rank reset and I could still see people not touching a gen and all 3 looking for ruin. Not every match is the same tbh.

  • You can't possibly expect gen times to be increased when there is literally an array of perks to choose from that aid with slowing down gens. Like at some point it will become overkill.

Personally I think where the problem lies is Mobility for killers. Some obviously have better mobility than others and the Freddy rework is a testament of that. Freddy can pressure gens better than he ever could before, mainly because he can teleport.

You can't simplify it with "I did bad in this match because I got gen rushed".... That's why Peanits is saying it's not as simple as some of you think. They need to find some creative ways where it's not just increasing the time on something or adding another objective.

A solution that just buys you more time because you couldn't loop and outplay a survivor... because you couldn't take your eyes off of that survivor you tunneled... because you chose to not pay attention to gens being worked on vs not while in a chase... because you chose not to break chase when it was required... etc is not a Solution. It's just buying you time.

  • @Mochan said:

    Gens are fine.

Killers keep pretending they are marginalized third class citizens, but the horrifying truth is that we've been getting three years of major buffs and changes hugely in favor of killers so that it isn't unfair to them like it was back in 2016, and you still get tons of killers here bragging about how easily they get to Rank 1 every reset without even trying.

Check the "do you care about rank" thread currently on the first page if you don't believe me.

    Gens are fine.

If the best survivors are out playing you, deal with it. It happens. So what if the devs are rank 20s who balance around where the mass of players are playing? Well done!

    This isn't an esport.

If the game needs anything, it needs to nerf looping further so that chases are easier for killers BUT additional survivor options to survive by stealthing and juking should be enabled.

    @Mochan Bottom line. Yeah.

I saw a streamer yesterday claim that “gen times are bad” ....she kept getting evaded because players knew where to hide, yet the next 3 matches, she got 4K in each one (one in the same map) but somehow gens times are bad right? Its like unless they are winning “something must be bad”.

  • At the end of the day killers and survivors will do whatever it takes to complete their objective.

People like to use the words “And here I thought I was playing fair...” It’s a game.

Survivors aren’t meant to slow down simply because a killer needed more time. That’s why tools exit (Perks/Add ons) to slow down the match.

To your point OP. There is some truth to that. However sometimes I just want to get on a gen because no one else will... sometimes some of us have been screwed by other teammates that we already know the drill.

  • I don’t care about my rank as long as I have a good team.

  • Lmao how does Chucky not fit the game lore wise and gameplay wise?

You just got done quoting McCote about Nothing being impossible. 🤣

  • @Frugl1 said:

it allows you to get to another window/pallet despite dead space mid-chase. That does not mean the survivor made a mistake.

    @Frugl1 I wholeheartedly agree.

  • Killers complain all the time too... it's the nature of the game.

  • @UltraBanana said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/685255#Comment_685255

"Break chase at strong loops" he says. What do you do when you load into a map where 80-90% of the pallets are safe if you have a brain, a god window has spawned, and there's plenty of infinites to be had with balanced landing? Oh and hey, someone spawned on your ruin.

Go on a chase longer than a minute? Lose 3 gens. "Noob killer ez".

Break the chase it took you maybe 30-40 seconds to get into, waste another 30-40 seconds finding the next chase, and then get into another chase just to repeat the exact same process?

There is a reason you only really see a handful of killers played at the red ranks. The m1 killers can't really deal with the gen rushing unless you are using crutches or hardcore camping / tunneling.

    @UltraBanana

You’re doing exactly what many do in these forums. Which is present a very specific scenario which isn’t guaranteed to go that way 100% of the time.

Oh I can do that too. What about when your ruin is well hidden, when the gens are clumped together, and when (this is the best one) Your teammates have a degree in playing Immerse and therefore no one is touching gens?

It’s very easy to blame the other side and I’ve seen immerse people in red ranks as well. They aren’t all top notch skilled players.

  • @Chickenchaser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/685255#Comment_685255

Uh...no. Gens are unbalanced. it can't be denied. Play red ranks on both sides to get real perspective. All you did in your reply was tell me that you're inexperienced, and don't understand the game.

@Chickenchaser The non-high tier killers getting 4K in red rank matches say hello.

FYI I do play both sides. I provide perspective on BOTH sides. I don’t deny that sometimes gens do go by fast BUT Many times it’s my own fault and it’s not in every single match.

You call me inexperienced but you don’t even know what I’m talking about when I say you need to patrol gens.

  • @Chickenchaser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/685089#Comment_685089

Well yeah. it's not really that much fun for the killer when 3 gens pop 40 seconds in because they didn't choose one of the unholy 3 (nurse, spirit, hilbilly). Gens are currently unbalanced. to deny that is to deny reality. It's frustrating as hell so killers dc because of it. And I don't blame them.

I also didn't say it was the only reason, so I'm not sure what your point is.

    @Chickenchaser

Lmao that’s not gens being unbalanced that’s a bad killer not able to chase someone or learn how to break chase at strong loops and properly patrol gens.

I do blame them. There is a big difference between when someone knows how to run a loop and when they don’t. OR when 4 survivors have brought boxes but don’t even bother to check gens. Gens aren’t going to patrol themselves.

This isn’t a new concept. Even newbie killers understand this.

Nope you didn’t say it was the only reason, just one that you heavily like to bring up much like in many of your other posts.

  • @Chickenchaser said:

You should continue to expect that as long as gen speed is unbalanced.

I guess i've been lucky. I haven't had a killer dc on me in a long time at red.

Because gens getting done make killers DC.

I’ve seen killers dc for getting outplayed during a chase.

Thats awesome to hear! I can’t wait to explore it. I was so tempted to download the PTB just to see it for myself but I forced myself not to and get a fresh experience of the map 😂

Figure out how to make Chucky and this becomes my favorite game of all time.

Those protection hits are so messed up. The ones you take to actually protect the survivor almost never counts and the hits you take at unnecessary places counts. So it is not exactly reliable either.

They are not. I was emphasizing on the fact that you can get stacks through other methods aside from unhooking someone.

  • Taking a hit for someone else counts as a stack as well.

  • I’ve seen some really good Leatherfaces out there.

  • Undetectable only works for a few seconds right? Or is it permanent undetected once they crouch?

Also, I think at least with Myers T1 makes him slow so I think it’s balanced in the way he works.
