They just have to increase the average MMR of the group by a percentage in matchmaking and they will be less opressive.

    For example: 2 man +5%, 3 man +10%, 4 man +15%, 2 2 mans +10%.

It would be a decent patch except for i guess the highest level where the MMR is so high that it doesn't matter.

Nah it wouldn't work for high skilled swf as when they are at the top + 15%, it's still the top xD.

I guess they should totally remove 3Q and 4Q.

    Only solo and duoQ allowed.

If you're a really good player, then yeah, it's normal to beat most of the other people you play against.

I looked at another strong player today, Pro Vengeance. He had a 800+ game win streak recently playing a variety of killers, including lots of Ghostface, Clown, and others that people would consider not super strong. Prior to MMR, he had very good stats:

    4K: 1459      91.4%

    3K: 125         7.8%

    2K: 8         0.5%

    1K: 3         0.1%

    0K: 1         0.1%

Since MMR went active, his stats dropped:

    4K: 26         65.0%

    3K: 9         22.5%

    2K: 2         5.0%

    1K: 1         2.5%

    0K: 2         5.0%

He's doing better than me, but he plays lots of mid-tier killers.

I think just because you're good, it doesn't mean you have to be punished for it. High-level killers being only grouped with high-level survivors makes it almost impossible to just sit down and enjoy a game casually. You're constantly having to play at the top of your game against other high-level players sweating hard to get the win.

I think if you're the type who likes SBMM in video games, that means you are not a good player. You have no drive, no confidence in yourself, no work ethnic, and probably aren't successful IRL.

I'm sure the decision to add SBMM comes down to $$$. SBMM increases retention of less-skilled players. It keeps the average newbie away from pro and semi-pro players, gives them more chances to win, keeps them interested in the game, and gets them to spend their money unlocking cosmetics and new killers. BHVR has much less incentive to please the higher-skilled players who've been around a bit have already spent whatever money they're going to spend.

I hear what you are saying. i mean, i agree that if someone is top 0,1%, he will beat most of the teams but IF the game were balanced, he wouldn't be able to have 3K+ 87% of the time with a working MMR matchmaking.

For exemple, on Overwatch, even pro players have a win rate around 60% in ranked matchmaking. So top of the line players win more than the 50% balanced objective but not 90%. For top of the line killer mains, i think they should get 60% of 3K/4K then the rest mostly 2K.

Well i'm the type of ppl loving ranking and SBMM system, i have played competitively in some games, have been top 3 in some well known old school tournaments, and have been considered the best EU pistol player on Halo PC for a long time. And well, i'm successful IRL but sure i'm an elitist and i despise ppl that don't want to invest time in something to get better.

In every other games, when you are high skilled it means you never have easy game and many players are finding satisfaction and enjoyment to play like this. But most games have two queues, one competitive and one casual.

To my mind, having two queues is a terrible idea as it splits the playerbase and then it takes ages to find a game.

The problem is not the SBMM system and facing strong opponents. The problem comes from the DbD game design. Everything is frustrating in this game, as a killer and a survivor.

Sometimes, i play against good survivors, i get a 3 or 4k and still i'm frustrated because the map design is bad or because i slided against an object instead of bouncing etc...

And as a survivor, i'm also frustrated at times where i had no chances to survive a chase cause i had no option against a killer (PH or Nemesis for exemple), killer that has a terrible win/win design for chases.

I mean, for exemple : you are PH, in a chase, survivor starts to loop, you loop, when you are close enough, to avoid the pallet drop, you can fake your power = the survivor drop the pallet, release the power, you get a free hit; if the survivor doesn't drop the pallet, remove your power and M1, free hit also. It's exactly the same with Nemesis.

Those killer designs are crap. When you do your power and fake it, when you stop it you have to be stun and to not be able to "insta" hit just behind. Giving free hits to artificially make the game more balanced is a bad choices. If the survivor has no chances in chases, it's then unfair. If the killer has no chances in chases, it's unfair.

That's why killers' design is really important.

But we can also talk about some map designs. Indoor maps are terrible for some killers, there are way too many pallets/windows/walls, it's impossible to play properly there. For Blight, Nurse, Huntress etc it's terrible...

Some maps are way too big also... If you play a slower killer you need ages to cross the map, it's bs.

Well, overall, BHVR has to work on some maps and some killer powers.

  • @justad00d said:

This system only benefits low-skilled players. Below average players will now get easier matches. Above average players will get paired with harder teams. High MMR players using F-tier killers will especially struggle. High skilled players who play strong killers will have less of a change in their 4K %s just because the number of survivor teams who can deal with a super good nurse is much smaller than the number of people who can deal with the world's best Legion.

Killer MMR is dependent of the killer you play. Each killer in your roster has its own MMR.

So a good player using a F-tier killer will have a MMR depending of how this player performed with this specific killer. If the killer is too weak he won't manage to go high MMR with it.

Why does that mean I had easy trials? I'm in California and play only during prime time hours. I almost always went against only full red rank teams. A more accurate assumption is that I'm a highly skilled killer, have a very high MMR for Legion, and am now only getting paired with high MMR survivor teams, which is difficult for one of the weakest killer to deal with. Maybe if I was a nurse main, I would have a 500 kill win streak and still be winning 99% of my matches.

Having 87% of 4K and 92% kill rate is normal for you ? Then don't talk about balance.

Even if you would be top 1%, you should face top 1% survivors and get 50% kill rate on average.

If you find your stats fair then no need to discuss about balance with you.

And now you don't play against high rank survivors yet. You play against considered high ranked survivors that have been misplaced with the old broken matchmaking.

Wait some times, like 1 or 2 weeks and then you will only face survivors that have the same skill rank than you. And redo your stats. If they are the same then the game is unbalanced and favors killer.

If i take a perfectly balanced coin, and i threw it 1000 times, i will get 50% one side and 50% the other sides.

A Kill rate around 2 =/- 0,2 means the game is balanced. A kill rate that is away from this margin means the game is totally unbalanced for one side or the other.

Since MMR has been activated with Legion:

Not a single chill game. Every game has been super sweaty and stressful. This is the first time since I've started playing that I've considered quitting. I don't want to just stomp lower skilled players every game, but I need some variety. I come home from work and just want to chill, play a bit, and have fun. Don't want to struggle against toxic stretch res swfs in every game.

Ye well, those stats just show that you only had ez trials with the old matchmaking. 90% 4k and around 90% kill rate was a joke man, especially with Legion.

Trials you have now are tougher and still you manage to get 70% kill rate and 50% 4K with one of the worst killer in the game... Let's see the stats you will bring in 1 week as everyone will have a more accurate skill rank but if it remains like this, game is then unbalanced and favors killers.

I was always really hesitant to play killer given how lopsided matches could be for a casual player like myself, especially if I'm playing a killer I've never played before. From what I hear SBMM is supposed to change that. I hear that it's more beneficial if you're a casual player. Has anyone been able to confirm this? I really don't want to sweat while I play.

It depends, you still face the SWF trolls that you would have faced before.

As survivor, same, you still face the face camper that don't know how to play and just use this high reward "strategy" to win.

I think that BHVR should do two differents queues : soloQ/duoQ and SWF with different rules for both queues.

TrioQ should be removed as the 4th survivor is never included by the trioQ (they think they are pros and better at the game blabla).

BHVR is "banning" and taking care of people on the official forums around questionable rules but they do nothing about the toxicity in the game that has been growing more and more everyday since release.

Then pay them for being entertainers or make them bots. Otherwise, they're people playing a game with their own win conditions.

And my teammates are often as lethal as the killer. The killer does not have a monopoly on bad or stupid behavior.

It's not about being entertainer or bots. Playing like they do is like being a bot.

The point of the game is the interactivity between survivors and the killer.

    If every trials were :

    • Killer chase 1st survivor, down him/her and hook him/her
    • Killer camping the hook
    • 3 remaining survivors doing gens only and escape

Where is the gameplay. So you are defending a terrible game mechanic, "camp doing nothing 90% of the trial" and you call it good and healthy for the game.

Ok, i'm wondering who i'm talking to. Surely one of those campers that don't know to play Killer properly :)

  • Yup, unfortunately it was existing with the old matchmaking system and it will exist with the new one aswell : PPL will derank on purpose to face easier opponents and troll them.

Got one SWF (they had gamer tag) doing it against me as a killer. They were trolling the whole trial, reported them all.

And got some killers doing it to, ruining our game and our time.

Honestly, BHVR, you know how things go, you exactly know how toxic DbD has become and you can clearly say who is toxic and who is not. I mean, some players surely have a huge amount of report for trolling and toxicity.

And yes, you surely have some players that are reported because they are too good, but some players have hundred of pages of bad comments on their steam profile (for toxic behavior).

I'm sure there are players that get reported like 80% of the trials they play.

    • Why are they still allowed to play ?
    • Why don't you ban def those players ?
    • Do you think it's healthy for the game ?

Doing nothing is like encouraging it. And adding a chat filter does nothing. So you have two solutions :

    • Either you take strong decisions, you prove to the community that we can count on you and you HWID ban them.
    • Either you implement a toxic rating system where we players are rating other players, giving them a toxic grade. You allow everyone to see the toxic grade of all players in the lobby (survivor & killer) and you let us the choice to play or not with a toxic player with a bad grade.

Nope, win conditions are determined by BHVR. I'm not even sure that a 4k with camping tunneling the full game is considered a win by the SBMM system now. I hope not.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Just make killers bots already. They can be programmed to only play in a way others find fun.

Or tell BHVR that killers should be entertainers and make playing killer a paid job.

Otherwise, the game itself has to be changed at a core level. You can't punish players for playing within the game's rules just because you don't like those rules.

Rules are arbitrary. DC could be an acceptable rules when you don't want to play against someone playing cheap.

Fact is, the Killer is "driving" the trial. He is the only one who can behave badly towards the survivors. Survivors can't do anything to prevent it.

  • @chrisG20 said:

why isn’t there any punishment for Killers who Camp hooks? Yet when Survivors decide to DC we get banned system is so ######### up

Players that massively camp, every trials, 1st hook everyday should be HWID banned. It's extremely toxic as it prevents a survivor to play the trial properly.

Sanction should be way more than loosing emblems.

Or else, allow a DC if you are camped and this without any points for the killer.

It's not a matter of skill, it's a matter of game design, some killers are terribly designed and they have the most miniscule chance of winning and players need to absolutly play perfectly with those killers to have that minimal chance. I'm a Ghostface main, i dread every match because i know the killer is so badly designed that i'm basicly playing with no power, i'm just holding W, trying mindgames and trying to get hits. I barely have a power when some survivor somewhere in a 32 meter distance in a 360 degree radius can just look at my direction and poof i'm no longer in a power position.

We're not talking about Bad killer players, we're talking about killers being severely underpowered. You can put the best killer players with bad killer characters and their chances of winning against just regular survivors is low. If you don't play that weak killer extraordinarily well you won't have a chance.

Killer players need to play in a completly different level of skill and mindset. 1 hook for killer means nothing when the objective is 12 hooks. Inversily tho 1 gen made by 1 of the 4 survivors is huge for the whole team, thats 1 gen less the other 3 need. Plus you can help each other on multiple gens. Killers don't have any help, they need to "chase", down and hook a survivor which takes an arbitrary amount of time vs the fixed 80 seconds to complete each gen. by simple maths a killer needs to get 2 hooks before each gen pops and he is still missing 2 hooks. IT's not executable in most cases cause killers don't control anything and most killers can't really play because their design is horrible. Even if a killer picks a Map offering, he can be countered by the game itself or by the 4 survivors. And even if he gets sent to the map he wants, that same Map's RNG can screw the killer...

There's so much against killers odds that it's riddiculous. I do question myself why do i play killer and why the killer that i play when i know the odds are very skewed.

Once again, playing as killer require map control and that's all. You talk about 80 seconds gen, long chases etc... so you don't know how to apply pressure on the map.

  • It's working but needs many trials to be accurate.

My mind is that the mmr is way too forgiving and so you still get potatoes considered as good survivors. It will be fixed with times but first trials (by first i mean 50 maybe) are inconsistent.

  • @TGB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2486391#Comment_2486391

I know responding to you is a trap at this point, but what you're saying is a common fallacy that Survivors spew, so here we go.

No, chases are the most important thing. You need to down people to hook them. You need to hook them (THREE TIMES PER PERSON) to kill them.

If you run around "zoning people off gens," you're not downing people, and so you're not hooking people. Survivors are getting gens done, because you can only be in one place at a time, but they can be in 4 places at a time. "Map control" is an oxymoron for Killer, because it cannot be done. It is a 4v1.

Killer wins by, honestly, sacrificing gens to start snowball pressure. If momentum is lost even once, odds are, Killer loses, since it usually takes about 3 gens to get proper pressure going.

Obviously, these things change if the Survivors are all clueless, but that's not what we're talking about here. And ultimately, Killer only wins by being able to snatch a plethora of Survivor mistakes. (But alas, if the Killers themselves make any mistakes, it all crumbles.)

    But anyway...

    Yeah.

Map pressure doesn't make any sense as an argument. You have 4 spread out Survivors working gens on opposite sides of the map. When you run at 1 Survivor, 3 others are holding M1. Please explain, step by step, how you "control the map".

Well man, that's why you are loosing your trials then. You didn't understand the core gameplay as a killer. No offense saying this but it's clear you are a baby killer, no matter how many hours you have into the game.

The killer map control just relies on 3 generators, like 1/4 of the map...

    1. At the start of the trial, check how are the generators (use corrupt intervention). Select 3 generators (smallest area to cover between all three) that will be your end game generators (to end up in a 3 gens situation).
    2. Now your map is divided in half : the 3 gens you want at the end game and the rest of the map. Now be aware of how corrupt intervention has been placed.
    3. IF the 3 gens you have selected are the one corrupted, you can go chase all other gens without any hesitation for 2 minutes straight. Apply huge pressure on the free generators, and get as many down as possible. With experience you will know when you have to continue a chase and when you will have to let it go. An injured survivor is sometimes good enough to save some times.
    4. (3bis) If the corrupted generators are not the 3 gens you have chosen, then you can't freely roam the map and loose too many times in chases. My advice is to try to have short chases and to come back on the 3 generators to be sure that no one does them. Sometimes, survivors will try to do those generators and it's a win/win for you, you will have kind of a 3 gens situation the whole game.

Against a good SWF, you will have a hard time, sure, but then, after some hooks, don't hesitate to slug and camp (when 2 gens are left) to get a kill for exemple.

Never camp early, never tunnel early, it's useless. And have in mind the 3 selected gens 100% of the time.

Sure, I'm bad. But I'm better than most. (Which is frankly not saying much. Generally speaking, 90+% of any game's population is utter garbage. DBD is certainly no exception.)

    But the thing is...

If I lose... Did I make mistakes?

    Sure. Yes.

But why does this mean I deserve my loss?

Did my ENEMIES make mistakes??? Yes. More than me, most likely.

But... they're playing Survivor. They're allowed to make mistakes. They're allowed to make... quite a number of mistakes.

But the moment a Killer loses a single chase, it all crumbles into itself. "WOW BAD CHASE NOOB, GET ROLLED. YOU DESERVE THE LOSS. YOU LOST A CHASE LMAO!"

    It's totally asinine.

    P.S.

I win most of my games.

There's this weird, illogical assumption going on that, just because I'm complaining, it must mean that I lose most of my games.

    A killer can't loose a chase 😂

A killer has to defend generators and have a good map control. Winning chase is secondary and comes with a good map control. Of course you have to be decent at chases too, if you are a total potato it's over but main gameplay for a killer is map control, that's all that matters.

  • @TGB said:

    Because it's a 4v1 game.

DBD attracts hyper-casual gamers that want to feel good about their gaming, but without actually being good at anything.

Check every toxic Survivor's Steam profile.

    Will you find... CSGO?

    No.

    Will you find... Street Fighter?

    No.

    What will you find?

    Stardew Valley.

    Bloons TD.

    Animal Crossing.

    Etc...

Dead by Daylight attracts people because it is a true 4v1. Imagine, if you will... if basketball fans were given the chance to 20v1 Michael Jordan.

Imagine how many people would grab that chance. Because they want to win. And they want to brag about winning. About beating Michael Jordan.

    Was it a 20v1?

    Yes.

Is that something they'll mention in conversation?

    No, lmao.

Dead by Daylight's severe imbalance is exactly what people want. Because people want to feel like they can win at PvP games. But they can't do this with actual PvP games.

    And so...

    They come here.

And they have FLOCKED here most certainly.

MOST games are versus SWF's. MOST SWF's are hyper-toxic. MOST SWF's are also only mediocre. But all it takes is gen efficiency. Three people holding M1 while one person loops for... oh, say, about 60 seconds only.

    That's all you need.

    And there you go.

Free ego boosts for the most toxic of human beings.

4 happy players at the expense of 1.

80% thumbs up, that's good business for BHVR.

And this is why Dead by Daylight has the single worst community in all of video gaming. Because that is DIRECTLY who it is attracting.

    You again 😂

Before SBMM, as a killer you could easily go from rank 20 to rank 1 winning 95% of the trials. And this with Blight, considered as the hardest killer to play.

As a killer, i have almost never struggled to get 4K without camping/tunneling and this because there was no proper matchmaking. Now it will get harder, it will require skill and i'm happy about it. I will have fair match for both sides.

You are clearly mad cause you absolutely want to win every trials and this easily. Ppl on the forum just have to check your other threads to know the kind of player you are.

Um... You would need to add 2 man, 3 man, and 4 man together to determine the percentage of playerbase that is swf. That is some sus math, survivor friend. Not as embarrassing as the majority of survivors not understanding 4 is greater than 1. But still, needs work.

I disagree, duoQ can't be considered as SWF. Even if you face 2x duoQ, it's not the same. Communication is broken between the two parts. And those survivors will always want to help the friend, bringing some broken teamplay etc...

I think that at high skill; SWF or not doesn't matter, survivors know how to play and how to be effective. SWF will improve the communication but still, with kindred equipped you have everything you need.

  • I would prefer huge rework for basic killers to give them original kit that require skills instead of turning around pallets till you catch the survivor.

I don't know a Myers that can plant 5 head pikes on the map that stare at you and gives him evil power. It would bring an interesting map control aspect to the killer.

Demogorgon that don't see tracks but smell its prey (seeing like a fog smell), evolute underground in the underworld, you can't see it as a survivor but you hear it growling under the earth and he is poping out of the ground.

    etc...

    No.

Also of note, a SWF doesn't mean all 4 people. Stop being so obscenely self-centered.

A 3-man SWF is plenty of power. Just because you solo'd doesn't mean THE OTHER THREE HUMAN BEINGS also did. You are a MINORITY of your team. Not everything is about YOU.

But no, ask me how old I am again.

And all the other weird insults you're throwing my way.

2 survivors had kindred, both soloQ. Fact is MMR matched me with mafia the game before, he was soloQ also cause none of the 2 other survivors played with me the game before. So we were at least 2 soloQ.

Well, i'm sure you don't know anything about map control as a killer. How to divide the map at start and such. Always crying about SWF while it doesn't even represent 5% of the trials is a joke.

You just assume you loose cause you face a SWF which is OP and you don't question yourself on why you have lost those trials, the mistakes you have made, the lack of skill you might have in chases etc...

No the only problem is not your skill, it's all about SWF, it's easier to accept that way right ?

Edit : data is old but i don't think the playerbase has changed so much. If you count 3Q as SWF, it's only 13/15% of the trials :). Let's say 20% to make you happy. There are still 80% of the trials being against soloQ/duoQ.

    No.

You're just SAYING I don't know because you want to argue with me on the forums. You want to "shut me down," etc. You want to win.

It's very obvious to any Killer with a brain when enemy Survivors are a SWF or not. There's obvious plays that were coordinated rather than coincidence, and exceed beyond "four solo queue Survivors that are also good players". And when enough of these happen, it's... simply obvious.

It's a "6th sense," if you will, that good & aware gamers have.

If you don't have it, and would rather just say I'm assuming it because I lost, sure. Go on ahead. I can't stop you, OR your army.

But you're just wrong. And those of us that know what I'm talking about know what I'm talking about.

    How old are you ?

You can't know if you face SWF or not, there is no way to tell as most players have their profile private (like 50/60%). It's a fact, you can't know, exactly as in the screenshot i have posted. The killer speculated that we were a SWF cause we had DH, IW for exemple. But ye he didn't see my kindred that proves that we were not SWF.

    Sans titre.jpg

So you don't know if you are facing SWF, you are frustrated because you get hard times atm. But do you know why ? Because you have been used to get ez 4K for way too long.

Now that you see that it will require skill and personal investment to enjoy the game and rank up, you are mad like a capricious child...

And no, you can have great teamplay with 4 soloQ competent survivors. When kindred is equipped you have all the info needed, if you are smart and know the gameplay mechanics, you clearly know how to behave and how to play with other high skilled soloQ survivors.

Yesterday evening i had a game (soloQ again) : a survivor got downed. I was on a gen with another survivor. Then the killer took the downed survivor and brought him to the hook near us. The distance was long enough for me to decide to bodyblock the hook. Instantly the survivor on the gen with me did the same, we both prevented the hook without any communication. Just brain and teamplay. This almost never happened before.

And we were not a SWF. There is no way to tell.

Maybe you are not as good as you think you are as a killer and so your rank will be adjusted. You can't go on a 5 loses streak without deranking a ton.

I assume DbD MMR system works exactly as in other games (R6S or Valorant for exemple). Loose 5 games in a row and you go from Top 2 ranks to middle rank. Especially at start, the derank is faster when you don't have 1000 trials in the SBMM system. And as most of the trials are non SWF (95%+), the probability that yesterday you have faced only SWF is so small that you are wrong about it.

  • @Axx said:

Yes the game's balance issues shine bright when the survivor players are decent, but you can't blame the players. I won't play worse just because the balance is bad.

Nope, SBMM is not accurate yet. As a Killer i still do 4K atm.

    SBMM needs time.

    1. Initial MMR has been calculated with datas that have been gathered during the old matchmaking
    2. Old matchmaking was working with "grades" (previously called ranks) that meant nothing but just grinding
    3. Many red grades/rank killers have been considered high skilled in those datas cause they had 3 to 4k most of the times BUT against potatoes red rank grinding survivors

Today, those killers, still considered High rank/skill are starting to face Higher skilled survivors (that have the same mmr score atm). Fact is those survivors are way more skilled than those killers. Those killers are loosing and having a terrible time but they will derank and soon face survivors of their skill level.

When i play survivor, it's clear that my teammates are now competent, still they are not awesome in chases but at least they do gens and saves when needed.

As a killer, i'm still doing 4K for now but it will change pretty soon i guess.

I hope that early trial camping and tunneling, still allowed, are not considered High skilled. Killers that can get kills only with camping and tunneling don't deserve to be high rank as it's a toxic mechanic.

  • Sans titre.jpg

Typical low skill killer, playing against higher skill survivors, that, after one DC'ed early game, needed to tunnel and camp to get 2K. I escaped. Everytime he chased me he didn't hit me even once. Did 27k, he/she did 19k.

And yes, he/she thought we were a SWF and nope we were all soloQ.

It's amusing how this sneakily implies that, just because some mediocre players are playing together on comms as a SWF, they are now above my skill level as individual players.

    I see your insults.

Pretty standard from a Survivor, but hey. Just pointing it out, out loud, so there's no mistaking what you did there.

You have no way to know if they play as a SWF lol... You just speculate this because you lost against better survivors.

I mostly play in soloQ and duoQ and how many killers think he/she is afacing a SWF... A ton and they are wrong. Less than 5% of trials are with SWF...

Fact is i play killer aswell, and i'm 100% sure i'm way better than you :) and there was no insult lol... ppl imagining things here 😂

It was a blatant lie. First, even in Higher rank, you can't face SWF only, it's bullshit. And then if so during 5 trials, you derank and the next one is an easier one.

  • @TGB said:

Killers ALREADY don't want to play. And tonight, after going against only SWF's, I just don't want to play DBD anymore. And it's a real shame.

It's a shame because BHVR does this. And it's a shame because the community wants it this way. And the community wants it this way because the vast majority of them are toxic SWF's that can't win in real PvP games, and get their ego boosts in a 4v1 video game.

The game is literally designed to attract those kinds of people.

You are lying. Do you know why ? Cause, let's admit you have faced 5 or 6 SWF and you have lost all those trials, you would have derank a bunch and then meet soloQ player.

You will derank soon enough to face survivors of your skill level.

Edit : i also play killer, played much last days, before SBMM, won 100% of my trials during that time (3K to 4K) with the Blight. Played with SBMM and guess what ? Still 4K without sweating and without camping/tunneling. So sure i will rank up and it will get harder, SBMM needs time to adjust but i guess if killers have many losses in a row, it means they are playing above their real skill level.

Killer mains will have fair match after 20 trials with the same killer.

  • MMR is good after some trials (like 20). Then you got fair games.

It's not perfect though but it will improve over time.

Killers are so bad... Game is very anti killer. IT's easy to say most killers are bad when MMR only benefits one side. The side with the number advantage. Killers need to have bad survivors to balance out the skill in a match. If the 4 are good then the killer needs to be good x4 which is humanly impossible.

And if the Killer is not good enough t hen he/she derank and faces lower skill survivor that gives balanced trials. I don't see where is the problem. Top rank killers mus be top 1% killers in skill.

  • @raze_ said:

as killer its working definetely for me since i always get good survivors with atleast 2k hours up to 5-8khrs

but as survivor i still get these babys even after like 20 games.

    -im doing 2gens average

    -90% escape rate

-90% of game escaping without getting hooked

-Alturism not so strong but if then 90% save unhooks

-chases atleast 1 minute (but the 100hrs i get i ran mostly for 3gens till they give up)

but i still get killers with 100hrs max 500 not close to my skill

same with survivors still below average or babys

what am i doing wrong? what is your experience solo survivors do you get better players and if so how you playing?

im playing as good as i can but idk

as i said killer is working definetely i get matched with same skill level people but survivor nope.

Problem is killer sided, not your side. Many many many killers are considered High level (rank) as they had mostly 3K/4K trials for the last months because with the previous matchmaking, they faced potatoes.

For me it's the same and we rekt them all. At start i had baby survivors with me but now i'm always in a good team with good survivors. Killers are so bad... Don't worry, in 1 week they will be wiped away from your elo.

  • Played like 20 trials now as a survivor. More you play more it's accurate. I had terrible trials for the first ten (50 hours survivor, strong killer against a mix bagged of potatoes or the contrary etc.... Now i have good killers and somewhat "good" survivors.

I feel like i still do not playing at my skill level but i see improvements.

  • Played like 10/15 trials now as a survivor. At start it was really bs... was matched with new players etc... More i play and more it's consistent even though not perfect.

i'm now matched with players still udner my level (especially in chases) but it gets better

  • Only played Survivor since SBMM release. I have 1500 hours in the game, most of the mas a survivor (playing killer aswell but lesser).

For now on, the matchmaking is terribly inconsistent :

    • sometimes grouped with survivors with less than 100 hours against a comptent (average+) killer, ez 3 to 4k for the killer
    • next game i'm against a noob killer but with 2500 hours survivors, killer doesn't even do 1 hook
    • Then i have a balanced game with good survivors and good killer

    etc... Really weird.

Personally I need it I absolutely hate the feeling of not seeing my ranking

No you don't need it. Play the game and enjoy the level you play on.

Well fi it works cause for now it's really inconsistent on my side.

  • YOU WERE RIGHT Guys !

My bad, didn't read the Pinhead abilities etc... Didn't know what to do with this cube.

But still if you soloQ, when you end up with potatoes you end up doing the cube the whole trial... as no one else does it. But well, killer's design is not that bad.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

My experience was the opposite. Most of my games, we had 2-3 escapes. I was able to loop killers long enough to have two gens pop. Killers were tunneling as they always were. Yes, had bad games where we all died as well.

As far as teammates go, I had a couple of matches where everyone stops and hides when I get hooked, but it wasn’t too terrible.

It really doesn’t feel much different from before SBMMR except for the fact the killers I’m matched against don’t feel like they have 20k hours in the game and can read my mind and predict my movements.

Well for me it's inconsistent but i almost never played during the SBMM test so maybe my rank is not determined properly.

  • @T103 said:

I keep getting matched with teammates with less than 200hrs on the game while I have 1.5k hours, I think something isn’t right.

Same mate, 1400 hours into the game, mostly great skill checks, able to hold most killers 1 min+ in one chase, grouped with potatoes or new survivors (with 50hrs into the game) against great killers and sometimes i'm grouped with competent survivors (average+ level) against a baby killer 🤣

    Works like a charm...

Hmmm too agressive to be Sluzzy...

You have a lot to learn to reach their level, young man/woman/whatever you are.

    Whose level lol ?

What are you talking about ? You think it's hard to aim in DbD ? 😂

  • @fogdonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/278432/how-to-judge-sbmmr

It is not that simple... Maybe the killer you will go against just started playing with sbmm so has still wrong sbmm score. We just need to wait until everyone has +-good score.

Ye so devs have gathered datas for months for 80% of the playerbase but they still can't figure what is your skill level more or less 20% ? Ye ok... Maybe they should hire a mathematician that actually know how to do mathematics.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

    1. Pinhead can have his power denied before it can even activate
    2. Pinhead has to activate his power and aim his portal, then aim a chain in accordance to said portal with its limited turn rate, after that he must find a way to reach the survivor without breaking any chains himself or the survivor runs away free.

Please enlighten me as to how you only get 2 gens done when the killer has no mobility. Are two people refusing to play in every single match you play? I am woefully unaware of the circumstances you're playing in that prevent you from holding a button and performing skillchecks.

    Wow so hard with 100fps and a 1000hz mouse + 800+ DPI.

Stop man, gibing a headshot on a 1mm head in Valorant is hard. Aiming in DbD is a joke.

"I lost one match so I'm gonna cry on the forums"

Nope it's garbage. In end chat everyone says "######### is this crap ?". Played many times against him now, this evening it's full of ppl playing him.

    • you do the cube to reset the random chains = he sees you and teleport next to you, of course you are chained then xD
    • no need to aim at all, stop doing like it's hard to aim with a mouse/keyboard guys, stop it, everyone find the blight hard to play while it's super ez on PC...
    • No one does gens as there are chains everywhere everytime

Yes, low skill high reward killer, with attack spamming. Art design is great, gameplay is terrible.

2E/2K average. 15 4k's and 15 0k's are a 2E/2K average. To many variables to be a 2k every time it's about the skill of the trial and if you feel you had a chance to win if you made less mistakes. Bad teammates are one of those variables that can't be controlled. Killer is crap/trying out a killer he never used before is another. ######### happens at least in the above equation the survivor escapes half the time....A giant increase from old matchmaking solo Q.

Bad teammates should not be a thing anymore as there is a MMR.

If it ends up being 4K/0K most of the times then it's even worst than the previous system.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2481854#Comment_2481854

Actually, it's working exactly right if 15 games are 4k and 15 are 0k.

Not really, it means there are 15 trials where the survivors are pubstomped and 15 games where the killer can't do anything.

A working mmr would give 80% of 2K trials and the rest between 1K and 3k, 4K and 0K should be extremely rare.

  • Well depends if 15 games are 4K and 15 are 0K then it doesn't work at all.

ATM, 6 games as a survivor, 4K in 5 of them and 0K in 1.

Everytime i can hold the killer around 1 min or even more. All others falling in 5 seconds. I'm grouped with 10 hours players.. this is terrible.

So... you're judging the system after 2 games.

Ouch. Friend, I recommend you play a few more games before exacting judgment. Maybe 50?

Yes, i have to wait for 50 games to have something at least to the level of the old system ? Are you kidding me ? They have gathered datas for months if not for years and once again they release something that is totally broken.

The trials i have played till now are the worst, literally the worst i had in 4 years of playing DbD. THE WORST.

  • @Hoodied said:

And people do need to remember that sbmm requires placement matches

If you play a new killer. But survivors and killers you have played a lot don't need placement matches... They have the datas.

You came into a conclusion after just 2 games?

We knew it would take a bit longer for the matchmaking to set in.

If it's still like this after 20 games, then there is a problem.

Yes 2 games as they said they collected datas for month. If the SBMM was working, no way i would end up with potatoes...

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2481544#Comment_2481544

Yes, but it collected Data for the SBMM, but the Matchmaking was done via the Ranking-System. So Killers might be boosted currently, because they kept going against weaker Survivors all the time. Now, SBMM is responsible for the Matchmaking, so they will get stronger Survivors.

But this is not the case for OP. In OPs case, his Demo-Rating is calculated based on all the Ratings of his other Killers, so it will be somewhere in the middle of his Ratings. Because you cannot start at 0 when trying out a new Killer, this would be horrible. Whenever a new Killer would be released, Queue Times would be super-long and all Killer players would go against complete new Survivors, until their Rating is calculated.

So if OP plays Demo for the first time, they will get Survivors which are stronger, because Demo has the Rating of all his other Killers. After a few games, Demo will have his own Rating.

Well i don't know where it has been collected then.

Usually i was escaping like 60 to 70% of my trials; topping all other survivors most of the time and always playing for the team and i end up with potatoes.

Aswell, all trials i have played now have been 4K for the killer. Great data collecting, we are perfectly aligned with the 2K/2E announced.

I guess BHVR is now more in the marketing communication than what the reality really is.

  • @Toxicboii said:

It just now released, of course everyone is the same rank.

Considering the emblem system is unreliable and you can't derank with this new one, it'd be way too hard for some survivors facing up against red rank killers.

    So on and so forth....

It'll sort itself out over time.

I thought they had collected datas last months ?

Sbmm doesn't work? Well tough it out anyways to bad for you right?

Pinhead causing dcs? Trust the process it will be fixed right?

Broken promises about an offline bot mode among others? Who cares we own the monopoly on this game right?

Maps disables and new bugs affecting killers and survivors...don't worry buy our cosmetics right?

I have been playing since 2018 and am tired of broken promises and buggy launches because bhvr doesn't want to take the time to improve the overall basic health of its spaghetti coding🤬.

We deserve better as gamers...stop giving them money until they treat you the way a paying customer deserves to be treated.

Rant over...back 4 blood and the new evil dead game cant come soon enough 🤑

I had faith in the SBMM system. BHVR said it worked perfectly. Fact is it doesn't work at all.

1st game as survivor : Terrible killer, hold him in chase like 2 to 3 minutes. Other survivors ? They didn't do anything, they felt down in 10 seconds. Game lost.

2nd game : killer was a camper/tunneler. Survivors ? They ended up all three on the hook at the same time cause they all died in less than 20 seconds around the 1st hooked guy. Could hold the killer 1 minute even though i had never played against the Pinhead, which has a trash design btw. Too much map control without skill required and of course framerate drops all the way with a high end computer.

Didn't they have prior datas to launch SBMM ? I mean i'm 1200+ hours in survivor, can hold a long time most killer mains in chases... Well no way it is working.
