How to judge SBMMR

Play a minimum of 30 games as Survivor or the same Killer. Ignore the first 10 games, because those are games where the SBMMR is adjusting to using the good data after SBMMR was turned on.

For the next 20 games, write down the total kills and escapes made each game. If, at the end of those 30 games, you are getting close to 2 escapes / 2 kills, then SBMMR is working correctly.

  • If you're high MMR even with good match making you're still going to be above an average of 2k. I think the difficulty is how can we determine if we are high rank, there's no indication to us as to how the SBMM has our skill set to.

  • Well depends if 15 games are 4K and 15 are 0K then it doesn't work at all.

ATM, 6 games as a survivor, 4K in 5 of them and 0K in 1.

Everytime i can hold the killer around 1 min or even more. All others falling in 5 seconds. I'm grouped with 10 hours players.. this is terrible.

Actually, it's working exactly right if 15 games are 4k and 15 are 0k.

Not really, it means there are 15 trials where the survivors are pubstomped and 15 games where the killer can't do anything.

A working mmr would give 80% of 2K trials and the rest between 1K and 3k, 4K and 0K should be extremely rare.

2E/2K average. 15 4k's and 15 0k's are a 2E/2K average. To many variables to be a 2k every time it's about the skill of the trial and if you feel you had a chance to win if you made less mistakes. Bad teammates are one of those variables that can't be controlled. Killer is crap/trying out a killer he never used before is another. ######### happens at least in the above equation the survivor escapes half the time....A giant increase from old matchmaking solo Q.

Bad teammates should not be a thing anymore as there is a MMR.

If it ends up being 4K/0K most of the times then it's even worst than the previous system.

Not for survivors. They did not escape 50% of time with previous MM. Either way it hasn't even been out for 24 hrs can't really expect it to work every game for entire player base.

It is not that simple... Maybe the killer you will go against just started playing with sbmm so has still wrong sbmm score. We just need to wait until everyone has +-good score.

Ye so devs have gathered datas for months for 80% of the playerbase but they still can't figure what is your skill level more or less 20% ? Ye ok... Maybe they should hire a mathematician that actually know how to do mathematics.

How would the killer in this scenario have sbmm if he just started? Also it's different of every killer on their roster. there are killers in my roster I have only used a handful of times so how will the DATA help with them?

######### I did it again. So meant to ignore you.

The game is designed in a way that matches can snowball one way or the other, sometimes at the very last second.

Even a incredibly balanced matchmaking could result in games that could suddenly swing one way or the other and get a 4K/0K.

Which is why; A. it should take a lot of matches to change your MMR, and B. you will need to average a lot of matches to see if it's working.

The idea behind MMR is that result of a match should NOT be predetermined by the matchmaking, which is what was happening under the incredibly broken rank based matchmaking, where you could end up against potato survivors and guarantee a 4K, or seal team teabag and guarantee 1/0K.

If the matchmaking is accurate enough, the outcome of the match will be down to how well you play relative to where your skill level is (or where the game thinks your skill level is), what plays you make, what mistakes you make, etc. not simply because you ended up against someone who vastly outranks you in skill. When the outcome of a match is down to how well you play, then you could easily swing one way or the other based on... how well you play.
