When i hook suicide, its usually because my team is just bad, usually they are hookfarming, unhooking you in front of the killer without regards how you get out of this situation, 4 hooks with noone working on a gen, people doing noise to alert the killer because you found the hex totem and they want the points, and the list goes on. If it happens to you that often, maybe you are just a bad teammate, and people dont want to play with you.

    Yep.

Nothing like running the killer for long enough for 2-3 gens to get done, just to go on the hook and see all 3 of your team mates crouching and hiding as if the killer is somehow patrolling every generator simultaneously.

    EZ 1st hook suicide.

  • @Ink_Eyes said:

The problem with the first hook kill is that people use it when they want to disconnect but also want to avoid the DC penalty if they close the game, The ones who actually do it intentionally are the ones advocating against it being penalized and they got big numbers so I don't think they will ever implement a penalty against it.

    No.

You can gripe about people wanting to move to the next game when you pay them for their time. They paid for the game, and yeeting out amicably with a legitimate death shouldn't be punished. By that logic, ######### teammates should be punished for being ######### team mates, which is 90% of the time the reason why people die on first hook anyway.

Which makes it long. Since he's smaller, they should shorten it. See how that works?

Except, no, that doesn't make it long. It's the same length as any other killer. Which means it's easy to adapt to.

    See how that works?

  • @Deadman316 said:

The only thing I don't like about Freddy is that his lunge is crazy long. If they somehow shorten that, he'd be fine.

No, it isn't. He has the same lunge as every other killer. It only looks long, because he's smaller.

  • Play both sides, first of all.

Secondly - don't listen to what survivors say to you. Keep it in your mind they you paid as much for the game as they did, and that you're not their babysitter. You do not owe them a good time. Play to win.

Ruin undying does everything if killer finds the two braindead teammates you get in every game.

So you're basically admitting that Ruin/Undying isn't, and was never the problem.

  • Survivors running their meta build, which occurs way more often, is actually way more oppressive.

You can't change my mind because it's factual.

  • No.

There's already DC penalties. You can not punish people further than that, and you can not force people to play the game.

So, today I had time for 3 games. I wanted to make the best of it, since there is Bloodrush and I need BPs.. I figured I would make at least 1 challenge. Currently rank 3 on PC.

Challenge: Get a great result on 10 skill checks. Easy, or so I believed.

Game 1 - Trapper. Made 2 great, then tunneled to death through 3 hooks. The team made it out and noone else got hooked cause I held the killer the whole game.

Game 2 - Doctor. Made another 2 great, then tunneled. Dead on my 2nd hook because of my teammates stood in the corner and self caring and healing each other. Also risky save with no BT.

Game 3 - Huntress. Made the rest of my great skill checks (thank god). Yet, tunneled of the hook and dead on 2nd hook again.

I hate toxicness, I never spam the flashlight or teabag or anything.

    Killers, why??

I read so much about toxic survivors being a problem, but I really dont feel sorry when Im being threated this way. I see toxic killers more often than toxic survivors. Is it just me?

Thanks for a good evening fellow gamers, not.

I find it all extremely sus that everyone comes to these forums and whines that "I keep getting tunneled, whaaaaa"...yet, I don't remember the last time, in my near 5000 hours playing this game, MOSTLY survivor, that I was truly tunneled.

To me it sounds a lot like a bunch of people who don't actually know what tunneling really is and are trying to validate their death in any way that isn't owning up to their mistake.

  • Because BHVR are cheap.

They actively try and manufacture this fake replay value in DBD by making sure you are always grinding. Thus giving you the urgency to continue playing their game.

  • Too add to my previous reply - I recently had 2 streaks, one as Clown, one as Demogorgon.

Clown Build: BBQ, STBFL, Brutal, Pop

Demo Build: BBQ, STBFL, Corrupt, Mad Grit

I made it to 61 as Clown (lost to a key), and 47 as Demogorgon. Of course this was over the course of about a month, cause I don't ONLY play those 2 killers. Point is, did I make it that far with these relatively weak (though, Demo doesn't get the credit he deserves, he IS underrated) killers because they are strong? Was it because I'm the best killer in DBD (I'm above average, but that's not saying much)? or was it because the survivors were mostly bad, due to the terrible matchmaking?

    It was the latter.

Thus, your "I won a bunch with spirit" malarkey is just that. Malarkey.

  • That's not the right solution. I agree, DS/Unbreakble is absolute horse #########, but saying "no this perk won't work if you're also running this perk" isn't the move.

The main issue with DS is that people can continue to do their objective and still have DS available to them. So they do a gen with no fear. Killer has to slug. Unbreakable allows them to just get up again and continue doing their objective worry free.

That's the biggest issue with the perk synergy. That and a few small issues with DS literally being the most OP thing in the game during EGC.

The fix to the former is to make DS disable when the survivor touches a gen/totem. Easy fix. You're not being tunneled if you're on a generator.

  • @Kolonite said:

I decided to try Spirit tonight -for the first time- and level her. I played 10-15 games. Two were on Haddonfield and some were against swfs and keys. I 4ked in all of them and it was the most relaxed I'd ever been while playing killer. I did get lucky blood webs so I was running pop pretty early on, but damn... I really didn't expect it to be such a walk in the park. I didn't even notice how broken Haddonfield is.

One SWF made me sit up in my chair slightly and ended up doing all the gens, but I still wound up 4king them because of some mistakes they made. Good headphones + the slightest bit of game sense = ez win

With the matchmaking the way it is right now, this means literally nothing. Even at red ranks, killers are facing babu survivors 90% of the time. A competent team (an actual competent team, not the ones who come here and say they are good because of their inflated egos) isn't going down to a Spirit that easy.

  • @indieeden7 said:

So completely remove potentially 3 perks from a survivors loadout? If this was made then I would personally also expect one that only allows killers to use 1 slowdown perk.

The survivor meta is far more powerful than a killer even running 4 slow down perks. Not a valid comparison.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

The only aspect of Spirit they need to tweak is her post-phase movement speed. It’s a hand-holding mechanic that makes her easier to play and not a high-risk high-reward Killer like Nurse.

I might agree with that - but I think there's other handholding mechanics that have been around far longer, that need to be looked at first.

  • Truth is, survivors can't handle anything that they need to adapt to. Case and point - Undying. Plenty of counter play. Perks, items etc that all countered some portion of it's abilities. But nope, that would require them to not use 4 second chance babu handholding perks and adapt to something for a change. Can't have that.

99% of survivors are the sum of their perks. Without their Dead Hard's, most of them would go down faster than Cyberpunk review scores.

  • This person hasn't gone against a 4 man with the full smol PP meta, and lost literally only because they had their perks. They've never been denied a kill because "a survivor had a perk to save them". Outplayed I guess.

But sure - Spirit is the most frustrating thing. I think I've gone against a Spirit twice in the last month. At peak times.

"If BBQ, which is definitely not a powerful perk, gets nerfed, killers won't play killer anymore. Take that, survivors."

Why is it this is an argument in like, every BBQ thread? I get it, life is hard as killer. But threatening to ragequit because you can no longer use BBQ to find all the people you slugged is childish and makes me wonder why you even play this game.

Because the main allure of playing killer is from the bloodpoints. Without the BP bonus, there'd even be less killers than there are now, and there's not even enough now to balance queue times.

It's not that it's powerful that killers like it. The reason killers would leave is because if a perk that has SO MUCH COUNTERPLAY, like BBQ, gets nerfed, because survivors ######### about it as they do everything they don't want to adapt to, there's truly no hope for DBD.

  • @scottymo said:

I think this perk has been discussed quite a bit, But here’s a common denominator with killers, most use it. Might as well assume. Forces survivors to use Kindred which only slightly offsets as at least it can giveaway the perk may be used. When you play watch how many killers use it. I will attest it’s most. Needs to be tweaked. There’s your sign, force killers to use some degree of skill and cunning. Not hook and then hone in on the next kill, hook, wash repeat...

You're a new survivor. That much is clear. You're also a survivor main, that much is also clear, because you want BBQ nerfed.

As a survivor main, try to remind yourself how long your queue times are. The reason queue times are the way they are is because there is ALREADY a killer shortage (as proven by the fact that queue times are literally instantaneous for killers). If you nerf BBQ, in any way, those queue times will go up 100x. Easily.

Basically - if you want to continue to be able to play survivor, stop asking for nerfs to trivial killer things that they like just because you're bad at the game. Thanks.

Maybe you don't know a thing about perks as it seems.

There are several ways to counter exhaustion perks.

Run mind breaker touch a gen, get exhausted.

Example : run clown with an exhaustion add on, problem solved.

Huntress, again exhaustion add on, hit them and again no dead hard.

So or adjust your playstyle or maybe stop crying about nothing

My knowledge of DBD far outweighs yours. In every way. Join me in 2016 when the game was in beta, then you can criticize my knowledge.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Meaning that those perks are crutches. Meaning by your logic you claimed before they also have no right to complain.

While they are crutches, they also have counters and aren't going to help you win the video game. They aren't an "on command" free escape.

You can't win. You literally have zero chance. Stop.

  • This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

"Survivor is bad at video game. Killer is better. Please give us infinite second chance and reward us further for being bad".

    My god, the entitlement, lol

Get better at the video game.

It seems that you don't understand the very basics of playing killer. Pressuring all generators is literally a waste of time, even mobile killers should be focusing on the generators that matter.

The generator in the corner of the map with nothing but survivor friendly map tiles nearby is better left alone, unless a key is in the game it's basically a trap.

However the generator with an another generator or a hex totem (possibly both) nearby is quite valuable and should be at least watched whenever possible.

I've been playing killer since 2016 when first down Mori's were a thing and legitimate infinites existed. Don't question my knowledge of playing killer. It's far higher than yours; and no, it's not possible to pressure every gen at the same time aside from hard slugging or a 3 gen.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850244#Comment_1850244

By what you just said that means its a crutch perk. Anyone who know tiles or generator spawns don't need those perks. That means anyone who does not know them doe need it. Meaning its a crutch perk. I'm using your logic here so. Also just because deja vu is not meta doesn't mean it's not a crutch, again by the same logic.

For your point about dead harding for distance has no counter. We're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

(Ps I also forgot to add Unrelenting and zenshin tactics in the list)

Which is why you only see newbies running things like Windows of Opportuntiy and Visionary. Which is why you see *bad survivors* who don't know how to loop properly running dead hard.

  • @MandyTalk Can you delete the triple post? APPARENTLY when I hit post, it gave me that white "Loading website" screen and looped over and over, posting my stuff like 400 times.

Dude if you suspect or know someone is runnig dead hard, don't swing to early.

Stay up their asses and force the dead hard or wait a bit and swing.

I rarely have any problems against it because I force them to make a mistake or push them in the open where dead hard has no use.

Can't believe people are crying over perks and make their own rules when someone uses it 😂

What kind of state has this game turned into when people are starting acting this way? 🤷‍♂️

I said Dead hard for DISTANCE.

If you don't know what that is (which you clearly don't), best not try to discuss it with someone who does.

Dead Hard and Dead Hard for DISTANCE are two completely different things. There's nothing you can do about a Dead Hard for distance.

Ok What about windows of opportunities, visionary, and Deja vu, undying. These are all crutch perks if you think about it. I guess players who use these perks have no voice or complaints.

(Dead harding for distance does have counters)

WIndows of opportunity has a counter - it's called map awareness. Anyone who knows tiles doesn't need it.

Same with visionary. Deja Vu isn't in the meta, so moot point. Undying is a hex perk. It has a counter, and multiple perks/items/addons to facilitate said counter to it.

And no, a dead hard, for DISTANCE, has zero counter.

Also, nice work killing them with kindness OP. They project their insecurities on video games and have to resort to namecalling. Good on you for keeping cool!

If they have to use perks that can guarantee more chances then they have no right to say you suck lol. They need more chances because they're not skilled enough to make do with the ones they're given. This game makes me laugh more than I should lol. I also find it funny how a rank yellow did better than reds.

Love the skin you're using, by the way!

OR, learn to use the salt as fuel. At the end of the day, it's not up to you to provide survivors with a good time. Kick the living ######### out of them by any means, and make their tears flow like the rivers of ancient Babylon. Bathe in the tears.

Why Pinky Finger, if I may ask? IMO, it's not comparable to Iri-head + extra Hatchets since you still need to run up to Survivor and M1 them in order to get the one-hit down (even if they are slowed down from the gas). And running up to a Survivor and hitting them point-blank with the bottle is basically just Leatherface with extra steps.

It's also RIDICULOUSLY easy to dodge bottles. Even at up close range.

If the killer is pressuring totems they're likely pressuring gens as well, thanks to the fact that 3/5 totems are right next to generators. One of the worst changes to the game ever in my opinion

There's only one killer. It's impossible to be pressuring every gen and every totem at the same time. Stop trying to come up with excuses why you're losing to ruin/undying killers. The problem is your inability to adapt. Not the build. Get better.

I don't think that's fair. People who use dead hard have complaints just as valid as people who don't. Why should a person not have the right to complain because they use a certain perk?

It is fair. Exhaustion is the single most problematic thing in DBD (aside from Head on and Adrenaline - since both either take setup or have to be earned). And no - Dead Hard users have zero valid complaints. Period. You do not, ever, under any circumstances get to complain about unfair gameplay, killer builds, killer addons etc when you use E to outplay. When you can learn to play the video game without needing the E crutch, you can complain.

  • Probably the exhaustion addons. Survivors are literally nothing without their exhaustion crutches. Can't have that, now can we?

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Sure some survivors act like that but not everyone. I use dead hard( its a must have in one of my builds) but I don't act like that and don't complain a lot about killers.

Again - anyone using dead hard has zero right to complain about anything. Ever. That's my standpoint. E key users (or whatever button it is on consoles) have no valid opinions/gripes while they use E to outplay.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't think the problem is that they don't want to do the totems, it's that if they try and do the totem an angry chainsaw man comes running screaming at them the second they do- because their aura is revealed as soon as they so much as start approaching it.

The result is they just try and rush gens super hard to plow through it, putting even less effort into totems than they normally might have.

If the killer is pressuring totems, they aren't pressuring gens. You guys keep using this logic and it's broken because of that fact alone.

I haven't seen literally one time where I've lost to a ruin/undying killer BECAUSE they had ruin/undying. It's always mine or a team mate's own screw up. Survivors don't get to whine about boring meta builds that killers use when they've been using the same busted meta builds, which are boring for killers, for the last almost 5 years.

It's not his own speculation. King took the "speculation" from the author on a leak website and made a video about it.

If you actually go to the DBDLeaks discord, you'll see they never actually mention Resident Evil. Literally at all. That is entirely King's speculation.

No reason to take away from the main point. Which was hit validation and not dead hard.

I mean, generally, yeah. Cause they are usually the first ones to complain about "omg killers do this git gud". You have zero right to complain while using "E to outplay". About literally anything.

Nice. I've had times when I moonwalked and danced in circles around slugs to this

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JxNF7PoVdg

I'm sure the survivors would appreciate the humor if they could hear the song, too.

Nah, that's the song I play during the process of slugging.

This is the best way to handle a team that prioritizes denying the killer hooks over doing gens. Though, after three bleed out I usually get bored and just hook the fourth so I can move on.

Nah, I just let them bleed out and make my own fun by playing this song and nodding to the beat:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YDoowoYzOI

  • Ironic that you say "OuTpLAyED" while using Dead Hard.

Totally outplaying killers all day by pressing a button to get free distance and iframes, aren't you?

    lol

  • *looks at the amount of times The King has been even close to right about a chapter*

    *sees it's been never*

    TOP KEK.

  • Teams like this, I slug and let them all bleed out.

  • Given what keys represent and the detriment they can be to a killers game (3 survivors can escape without completing their objective), I fully support tunneling keys out of the game. They had no way of knowing it was a green key. You took that gamble the second you picked it up.

When I play killer and see a key, at any point, that persons fun in the match has reached it's end.

  • I see a lot of "rewards the killer for x thing they didn't deserve" in this thread.

Firstly - that same logic would apply if I said "It punishes survivors for not doing bones" - which it does, by the devs own words.

Secondly - Imagine saying that about a killer perk that isn't even in the killer meta, when survivor meta perks, literally almost all of them, are "rewards for things you didn't earn". Decisive Strike, Dead Hard (literally all exhaustion perks other than head on), Unbreakable, Power Struggle etc. IMAGINE using the "rewards the killer for so and so" argument, when the reality is what I just said. Consider your argument destroyed.

At least NOED has a counter - it's called doing bones LONG before it ever procs. There's MULTIPLE perks and items to help you do this. DS? No counter. Not tunneling isn't a counter, because they usually run right to a generator. Slugging isn't a counter because Unbreakable exists, which has no counter itself. The one perk killers used to have to counter DS? They nerfed it for the specific purpose of making it not work with DS. A dead hard for distance (learn what this is before you reply saying "just bait it out" like a typical bot) has zero counters, and basically acts as a push-button pallet/vault vacuum. I could go on.

Not to mention that if a killer manages to get more than a single kill/hook with NOED, the survivors were trash to begin with.

  • Oh no! You googled a date! You're super smurt.

I went off memory, deal with it. It being 2017 only makes my argument stronger. Thanks.

    Sit.
