Killers, please don't slow down the Gen progress. You might win.
-
no. because no one has told me what MMR is yet. What is it?

Absolutely. I loved it when it came out. I was surprised so many people didn't like it, but I am pretty sure it was because the cult that follows a particular toxic influencer is to blame for that. Then right when people started to learn how to play it -boom- no more license, and they plan to remove it.
Breaks my heart.
How can I find this toxic "influencer"? I wanna see what toxic is.

Wow, this is a great pic.

I think Chucky should be a cosmetic for the Twins. So I can Kick Him.

Truly, I have never seen toxic in the game in 300 hours. Some killers hit me on the hook but they are wasting time. Killers block me in corners but I feel like that was my fault. I once chased Cheryl Mason the entire game and finally hooked her while everyone else escaped. I feel bad about that though. But I am playing on the Nintendo so no nasty chat afterwards. My old girlfriend is toxic...
-
My best friend
-
Are they taking it away? I just played it yesterday.
-
I love Hawkins Underground Laboratory. It is one of my favorites. I know were stuff is. It is not disorienting like Midwitch Elementary (which I also love)
-
From google. (were everything is true)
How many copies of Dead By daylight have been sold?
5 million copies sold
On average, through the Steam servers for the game it receives between 30,000 and 50,000 players monthly, but these numbers can also peak as well at the likes of 105,000!Jul 7, 2021
-
If they own and operate their own servers, it is only the high bandwidth internet connections that are cost. It is not very expensive to run servers like this. But I imagine the license for Freddy, Jason and so forth are a yearly fee to them and probably very expensive. If people continue to buy the game and DLC then the servers would probably keep running. Worst case I think is we just are left with killers with no movie or video game. Like the Wraith and Trapper etc. Nurse seems very Silent Hill to me. But not close enough to pay Konami.

I vote Alien as said by El_Gingero. Terminator would also be great as said by Marik13 with the excellent artwork. Nice work.

I want to report that I took everyone's advice and actually escaped 3 killers! that has never happened.
Here is the advice summary that helped me.
- I stopped running across the map out of fear and instead stayed close to the action.
- used perks designed to help escape. I used feather foot to not leave tracks. It will take some time to earn the ones mentioned but:
- I used premonition to know when killer is looking my way.
- I used Acrobat so I can jump and run
- I used "see killer when gens are done"
- I ran away much sooner and not for the corner but rather to a good spot to hide very near the hookings
- I played the killer to see what they see OMG you cant hide behind a tree. but also the killer has poor peripheral vision.
- I cut his line of sight as much as possible and vaulted as much as possible. I learned the maps by looking at them on wiki. (is that cheating? felt like it)
Amazingly 3 killers stopped chasing me. Ghost face, Chainsawm and and get this. The wraith actually gave up in the cornfield.
Thank you so very much. At midwitch elementary, I got let go by the killer because I was the last alive. Never has that happened.
Thank you
Laurie268 (you are creepy)
Rey_512 (you terrify me)
and even the fabulous ThiccBudhha (I just want to DC when chainsaw man is there but I never have)

I'd tell you to stop while you're ahead, but you've already been lapped three times.
Love your details. Well proven.

Thank you everyone. I don't feel like this is toxic but actually you all seem like friendly humans. ( Really need that right now)

Rule nr.1 distance distance distance.
If you have an oppertunity to create more distance between you and a killer then 9/10 it's worth it.
Don't do fancy spins after getting hit but use the speed boost to run in a straight line from the killer.
Killer breaking a pallet? Straight line away from them.
Rule nr 2 learn the maps.
Once you learned how to make effective distance then you just need to learn to run towards tiles that you can use.
This requires knowledge. After playing for a while you'll learn to recognise these at a distance. Using the perk Windows of Oppertunity (which is getting buffed soon) will make this learning process easier and make sure you don't run into death zones.
Rule nr 3. If you want to beat them, join them.
As with everything in life, learning how things are from the other side will allow you to learn to deal with them much more effective.
Play killer too and look at what the survivors you go up against do .
The more you learn of your opposition the better you can go against them
Will do. Thank you for all the comments.
-
I have a Nintento switch. is W the Run Like hel key? I always hold the run button. (Right bumper) but I don't start running soon enough apparently. BTW, Rey_512, you choose an awsome killer. Its always fun to be bested by the blue ded girl.
-
How about just stop playing slinger... Or just give him a machine gun and kill me fast so I can get back to the non human killers. Human killers remind me too much of my dad.
-
BTW how do you steer the survivor on a PC? With just the keyboard or is there a gamepad in use?
-

Then you play with console players, which is arguably worse imo
OH thanks for that! I have a Nintendo and I see survivors run backwards. How do you do that. Are the Hacks all PC based? I am gonna friend you Astrian and jump in your game ;)
-
Haha ha I have tried about 20 times to use a flashlight. Ended up blinding my teammates. Never got a killer even once.

@balanced said:
First of all, I am using a translator.
Behaviour we want a balanced game for both killers and survivors I think we could make a much more balanced and fun game for everyone.
Note: Everything I am going to say is focused on premade and high mmr games.
Currently I think the game is very unbalanced for killers and I explain why.
In high MMR you find many premade games and I think that playing in premade could be considered a perk that gives a lot of information, I give examples:
The killer follows a survivor, that survivor tells the rest of his friends by voice (discord, teamspeak) that the killer is following him.
The rest of the survivors can start making engines, bless totems, make bodyblock or give each other any important information.
I could list many more examples of all the information that a premade game can know against a killer, but I don't think it is necessary to say it.
The question is what can the killer do against this? with this kind of information that the survivors have?
So I think these games are not fair at all, don't you think it would be a good option that if you invite a friend via steam the game detects that it is premade and the killer gets some bonus?
Here are some ideas, although they could be any others:
Add one more engine if it is a premade game instead of 5 put 6.
Another idea I think more balanced could be to lengthen the time needed to make the engines.
It can be any idea, the point is to make a more fair and fun game for killers and survivors.
Now with the arrival of the boon totems things are even more complicated for the killer in high mmr, it was already extremely difficult to win games in high mmr without the boon totems, imagine now...
Conclusion, if the killer has to be aware of the engines, follow the survivors, infinite loops, break pallets, the body block, the flashlights and now also the boon totems I think it's already too much...
I think Dead By Daylight could be a fun game for both sides, the survivors part you are getting it, the killers part you are not.
It feels like you are balancing more on the survivor side and I think a lot of people think this.
The bad thing about giving this feeling is that many killers will stop playing Dead By Daylight or will play as
survivor, then there will be 4 killers left and finding games will be a real hell.
Note: Everything I am saying is based on premade and high mmr games.
Sorry for the English I used a translator.
Translator works well. Understood. I am not any where high MMR (Not really sure what MMR means) So I cant comment meaningfully. What language do you speak BTW. Studying Other languages is one of my hobbies. Thanks

I like the first movie well enough. The second one is awful. They both suffer from not enough Sean Bean, but what're you gonna do.
If anyone didn't know, in the movies:
Pyramid Head is basically Alessa's protector. Oof.
Absolutely agree. Sean Bean was perfect. But short performance. He is probably was really expensive after game of thrones. (where he also gets taken out too soon.) Why did they add John snow? Heather has no friends. She is a perfect emo loner. (unfortunately just like me)

Don't run meta perks. Take Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, ds, etc. And throw them in the trash. You'll become reliant on them before you even become good at looping.
Always try to keep an idea of where the killer is. Constantly look behind and keep check of where they are. You don't want to take your eyes off the killer in a chase, turn a corner, and immediately run into the killer because they pathed around the wall.
I suggest playing killer and surv back n forth. Imitate how the killer's are catching you in chases. See how survivor players are countering you there and then go back on surv and implement those techniques into your play. Rinse and repeat.
Straight up skill. I guess that is the core of it all.

@ThanksForDaily said:
When you repairing a gen, look around for your escape route (pallets, windows) if the killer is coming to you.
This is important.
Try to look behind you while in chase to track where the killer is. If you're looking straight forward, the killer will mindgame you and down you in a heartbeat.
Also, try to remember every map layout. That will help you to find pallets and gens easily.
Perks for evanding the killer: Sprint burst, Iron will, Windows of opportunity and Lucky Break. Bring a good medkit with you to heal up quick.
Thank you. I will try this too. Sounds very tactical.

Playing killer is definitely helpful. It helps you to see what the killer sees. Pay lots of attention to when, as killer, you are locked into looking a certain direction - like with stuns or pallet kicks. You want to be able to capitalize on this when playing the other side.
It's also good to know what the killer can really see. A lot of people think they are hiding or have escaped when they've left scratch marks all over vertical walls or whatever.
Thank you. I will play a killer. Which one is good for this?
-
I will have to watch now as this thread is probably longer to read than the interview.

I'm a killer main, so I can tell you what NOT to do.
1. Don't camp pallets
By doing this you are allowing the killer to walk right up to you and force you to either drop the pallet, get hit, or both. Loop instead depending on who the killer is.
2. Don't keep your camera forward in chase, Look behind you
This should go without saying, but....it doesn't. You should know how much distance the killer has from you so you know whether or not you can make another loop or if you are just going to have to take a hit instead of risking wasting a pallet in addition etc. Just glance behind you every now and again and make sure you don't run into anything.
3. Don't do the same thing over and over again.
The killer will realize that you're a one trick pony and capitalize on it. We aren't idiots...well not usually. One thing I see a lot of survivors do a lot is vault shack window from inside to outside coming in from the pallet entrance. Usually I just keep walking to the window on the outside and I get a free hit, but once in a while I'll get a little smartass who fakes the vault and gains extra distance. It's all in the mindgames. When they do something like that it tells me I need to pay more attention to them in chase. Just don't do the same things over again unless you're looping a very safe loop in which case have at it. You might piss the killer off though.
Thanks Killer. I will take this to heart. I tried to loop in the japanese garden and RAN INTO THE BAMBOO.

^ Windows of Opportunity is awesome. I constantly run it. Because pallet and vault spawns are RNG, and you can't know which pallets your teammates have already used, WoO is always useful.
OK. Second person to say this. I must try this.

I voted for the Alien. Face hugger

@slendermansmoom said:
run dead hard, iron will, windows of opportunity, and lucky break to have a huge advantage is your chases. dead hard to give you a second chance. iron will to be quieter, windows to see pallets and windows easier. and lucky break to make it harder for the killer to track you around tall loops/tall grass
Sounds like a complete plan. I will try this also. Thank you.
-
@Clevite said:
There is a VOD for that.
In all seriousness , I suggest Windows of Opportunity if you have it or can get it. And watch some Youtube videos. Then, don't play immersed, do gens, when the killer finds you, start the chase and work on getting better. Leave the genny earlier, if you are not a great looper, to give yourself some distance.
Looping takes time, and honestly, I am still only average and I have 4 years in game. So don't be too hard on yourself, remember, killers are good too and they work on ending chases quickly.
And, patience at corners as well. Good luck!
Thank you. I will check that out. Never heard of it till now.

OK I should maybe get the feet?

I'm not a great survivor by any means, but one quick tip is never to run to the edges of the map. There's nothing there for you and you'll go down quickly.
I always do that. Thanks. I will try not to do that.
-
I think pyramid is great the way he is. I play him. (cant kill anyone) and I play against him. 90% KIA for me. But since I pay Cheryl Mason, its always fun to get killed by the Pyramid. (yes I know, he is not in her video game directly. See post below where the community corrects me)
-
I tried to Gen rush this morning with whoever was in the lobby. I had no money for a toolbox and only managed to get 1 going before I was taken out by the ghost face. And I cannot evade anyone.
-
Heather / Cheryl is in Silent Hill 1 also. Silent Hill 1 has Harry Mason trying to catch his daughter Cheryl. So I feel like Pyramid is after her even if it is really just the bloody rabbit. Points above well spoken. But I still feel like the pyramid and Cheryl are connected at the soul level.
Thanks Clowning. you make great points. BTW, I dread you in a match.

Make your steam profile private then just queue for the next game instead of reading post game chat then crying.
I cant chat on a Nintendo Switch so I don't see any toxic comments. Is that where the toxic comes from?

Try for the A ending in Silent Hill 2.

Straight up hacking and its rampant.
What are the odds I see a video of this yesterday then it happens to me today?
Hacking? you would need to hack the server. If that is the case, it is the DbD crew who need better server security.

The best killers still crap on 90% of survivor teams out there if they play well!
where is this info? And by the way, what do the horns mean above the iridescent level markers? I got horns and I am not evil. My friends all got the baseball above or a skull.
-
Wow. Must be small map, Headsets and toolboxes with parts and the last two gens with two people each. Headsets are unsportsmenlike conduct I think. sounds like a setup.
-
Here is your prize instead.
Good bathroom art

I am glad to see so many silent hill fans out there. All great points. I would award you all bloodpoints if I could.

@jamally093 said:
It's hard to find a title but what i mean is let's say the killer chases you for about 3 gens and body blocks you would you count that as a win because you made the killer that mad and what else counts as win without escaping as a survivor.
I think escaping is the only win. Even if your friends all die.
