Sometimes when I play killer I get chased by a survivor with a flashlight. Following me to flashlight save their fellow survivors or trying to distract me at any chance.
I already tried to kill em, but the thing is their much better than me at looping.
The thing is there is not always a wall to look at instead.
So my question is, has anyone who has dealt with them tips for me?
Look down and swat at the light path.

No, I'm saying there has been objective shift in wait times and you calling people crybabies doesn't change that. Everything else is you sticking words in my mouth.

No, I'm saying there has been objective shift in wait times and thebperson I responded to calling people crybabies doesn't change that. Everything else is you sticking words in my mouth.
Last time two people on this forum stuck words in my mouth they harassed me for three days. So if you're replies are going to be to just double down on the arguments you've decided I made for me I'm just gonna ignore you.
OK fair enough. I don't want to put words in your mouth. I am not calling you anything other than M. Cantelope. What killer do you play?

I live in western NA and their has been a pretty clear shift in que times for killer. I'm sorry you think I'm giving you a sob story and crying or whatever but the reality is I usually had to wait till after 7pm to get decent que times for killer. I can now get near instant ques pretty much the second I get home from work at 3pm and it remains consistent.
So, call me whatever insults you want. It has no effect on the objective fact I see whenever I play.
Hello Good M. Cantelope. I also play in the PST timezone in North America. Every day. Sometimes all day. I see the same thing you do. in the morning, survivor wait time can be almost instant. At 6:30 AM, the Killers are quite good. They have fancy clothes and bring lots of gen progress perks and addons. They offer up sacrifice tokens or kill direct tokens. And I can't survive usually. By 7:30, it gets easier and I am no longer getting killers with russian and chinese names. It is survivors playing killers during this time of day from 7:30 - noon. At noon, some killers again start dressing up and bringing full set of perks / offerings. They are ruthless. Wait times are still short for survivor and instant for killers. At 3:pm, all the great killers get home from school and start killing. They are again good killers and usually successful. Survivor wait times are long until 7:PM. from 7:PM - 2:am, the wait times get shorter and shorter. It is only the ratio of survivor / killer that affects wait times.
I have about 75 friends. And from 3:PM to 7:PM, there are always about 15 playing. During other times, it is more like 5.
If you M. Cantelope, feel the game is survivor sided then I suggest bringing perks that slow down generator progress. There is one that locks out generators for 90 seconds. That is a long time. Also, start camping the hook more often. We cant resist unhooking. Down the hooked person again and kill them to leave only 3 survivors. We cant deal well with that. Bring starstruck to see survivor locations. Bring the offerings that show you survivors. If you cant get them, your match level will go down until you get less experienced survivors. Its just that. Time of day and you have been too successful and expect to continue with your success. When you start loosing, it is only temporary. Same thing happens on the survivor side. I get killed and killed and eventually get an easier killer. I dont believe there is a mass exodus of killers. It just is not happening. I play killer and this happens to me. I get flashlight cowboys for a while and then eventually they go away and I can catch people again. The only unbalanced thing in this game is peoples success expectations. If it is not fun for you, I understand. But many killers get 4 kills in my world. You act like we can bring gen parts and purple flashlights to every match. This is just not the case in my experience. Most survivors bring nothing at all. I have reached red 1 twice now so I do play a lot. The events only bring out more people.

People have been explaining what the issue is. Do you care to try to read aloud some of the arguments against them?
I read all the posts. even yours SonicOffline. I went up against a Nemesis this morning who absolutely took us apart with his perks and addons. Starstruck, etc. The snowmen did not seem to even slow him down. He just bashed them open and kept pursuing. Do killers have fun? I didn't think it was about fun but more about the need to hunt and kill. I guess I learned something from you. If you play for fun, let us have fun too. I don't use shadow step or even dead hard. I think you should camp the hook and see if any snowmen arrive.

Does the game crash?
I recommend restarting your switch by holding the power power button and then selecting restart. I play a few third party titles that often crash because there isn't enough memory, but by restarting it flushes the memory which should help with crashes/performance issues.
Great idea. Will try that
Thanks

I think that is fair. It would make me stay on the gen longer and be a target. It would make the Cheryl Gen locking perk more useful. Killers need something.

Please no. Our poor Clown hasn't done anything wrong
😀 Seeing him in the circus part of the map is kinda fun though.

Maps are worse than Gen speeds imo, it's impossible to apply pressure as Clown on Red Forest or any Killer on RPD
the nurse can shred the RPD. Just like Midwitch. I am glad to hear what the clown doesnt like. I want to punch him. Please devs, give us a third hand gesture.

I have about 45 friends from many time zones. so I spy on their usage as it is interesting. in the morning, there are few survivors playing and lots of killers. ( yes I friend request killers who give me the hatch or gate) In the evening, lots of killers and survivors but I think the matches at night are more balanced. In the morning, the survivors are not paired well in skill and the killers skill level seems to be more random
-
Wow, can you do that? I need to read the Wiki.
-
10 - 20 per day at least. 1500 hours since August. DBD is just part of my daily routine. Killers have a hard time unless they use Generator slowing perks in my solo matches. But my SWF matches, the killers usually can only get one or two kills cause my friends are BADA$$.
I also noted that morning matches 7-9AM (PST zone) are easy but I get low hour team mates. from 3PM - 7PM, the professional well dressed killers are out. close to midnight, the queue is long and the killers are weak. In the morning, I get some great team mates with chinese names.
-
Thanks. Good to know.

We'll have to see.
Plague got an amazing rework, as did Demo. The changes to addons were fantastic and a few small tweaks to the basekit just made them fun to play. Demo still needs a bit of love (he really struggles in some situations, Shred is a bit too easy to juke and avoid) but both of these were well done.
Freddy was a terrible job. He probably needed a small nerf, but they also took a lot of the fun out of his addons. Ditto Slinger and Wraith.
Pig was...sigh. Shifting around a few addons just didn't help her - she still has to play extremely 'toxic' (chasing people off boxes to try and force them to instadie) because her chase is just so incredibly weak.
If Pig, Wraith, Freddy, Legion, Ghostface, PH, Twins and honestly Hag (she can be effective but 110% killers always feel so damn clumsy, which I suspect is a big reason why nobody plays her, plus her addons are crap) got Plague tier reworks, this game would be so much healthier.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2670633#Comment_2670633
People said the same about League of Legends.
Riot introduced the Tribunal, and it was night and day. If I recall, something like 80% of toxic players reformed after their first warning, and 50% of the remainder reformed after their first ban.
Now obviously a Tribunal for DbD is just a fantasy. BHVR would likely never bite. But the key word is 'moderation'. Some more overt, and if needed heavy-handed moderation of both ingame and chat behavior (lul) would go a long way towards improving the experience for everyone.
Hell, you could even try a more 'carrot' approach, by encouraging people to use the 'thumbs up/down' feature to rate their opponents postgame and give some BP rewards when you get upvoted.
This would be a great thing. If the feedback of the survivors AND THE KILLERS affected their rank / Blood Points.
I think most survivors can appreciate a great game by a killer vs a "face camp come get him unhooked so I can kill you" game. I think most killers could appreciate a stealth by survivors vs toxic antagonistic play. But play how you want. I got warned on this forum for too much survivor shaming.

Because they only care about money. As long as people keep throwing their wallet at this garbage... Do I need to say more? Ah well, tomorrow, this game will be for free on Epic games so... Expect a ton more hackers etc. Not just that, but also more people to keep this game alive. (and throw more money at cosmetics)
So true. Its only about money. Nothing else matters anymore. They got too big.
-
I don't even want to play against him. He is one of those killers that just upsets me and feels like he just has too much. Why should he be able to down survivors with one shot / hitting you with his gun? Why won't the chain break when I go around a corner? He is already powerful enough in his current state I think.
-
Thanks people. Interesting info.
-
Thanks xxshyguyxx Nice yoshi nod.
-
I am a poor killer at best. This morning, I got three iridescent red one survivors. It was not fun. But I also get easy ones who survive like me and run in a straight line, hide in plain sight, etc.
-
I think there is a cosmetic for the blight that is very Jack.
-
I wish the trickster players could be killed by survivors somehow. Also I want to be able to punch the clown. And just get rid of the gunslinger with his chain then whack attack. But then again, I don't deserve any wishes because of all the bad choices I make in the matches.
-
Well put. I agree with all that. But I still play hours every day.
-
Give her some time. She's only been out like 10 minutes. Does anyone even have level 30 yet?
-
Just like Facebook, its all about the money. Everything else is just a distraction.

Same boring as going against 4 stacks of SWF all day who bodyblock hooks and take hits for eachother so the killer doesn't get a single hook.
I always get killed asap after being unhooked. But I use BT for my team mates since the camp is a way of life now.
-
She is creepy in a creepy way. But I found I can lose the crows by going in a locker.
-
I cant do a flashlight with my Nintendo switch. Not at all. Not ever. So I assume this is the same issue. No way to aim like a mouse on a console.
-
I think the devs put in some anti Karma. They know what you want and won't give it to you.

Either make decisive strike basekit or something because the amount of killers that just turbo-tunnel and follow you for 12 seconds after an unhook for a free kill is getting on my nerve. Just played a game where the same teammate farmed me twice and I went from a 1 and a half minute chase for the first hook only to have the killer get the second and third hook stage after 30 seconds. WE NEED BUILT IN ANTI-TUNNEL.
I always use BT. Every match because of tunneling killers. I think the penalty for hook proximity could be higher. If you want to camp the hook maybe you could just play the Hag and draw those things everywhere.

Jesus I don't know if it's just me but the Artist is genuinely upsetting to go against. The off color of her map, the inhuman noises she's making, the warped proportions, the crow motif. It's absolutely distressing.
I'll pay BHVR to never have to see her again. God damn.
I agree RiskyKara. She was quite as you say... distressing. BTW great choice of Avatar pic. Not looking forward to tonight's matches. I did not get the new map yet.
-
She didnt feel slow to me as she ran me down today. I saw her catch my team mates as well. they were all fancy clothes Iridescent 1 or 2 survivors. Then she showed mercy and dropped one at the exit gate.
-
Nerf the nurse if you must. But as a survivor, I like her the way she is.

welcome to the PMA = positive mental attitude .
glad you enjoy the game and its cool that you brought friends.
Im glad you had a lot of fun, quick question tho. do you think the killer also deserves to have fun ? And if the answer is yes then whelp that's why there is so much negativity around here . But that shouldn't stop you keep on enjoying the experience .
I agree totally. Voice communications takes away the survivor challenge and makes the game too easy for survivors. Just watch the streamers on youtube destroy killers with voice coms. And I am on Nintendo so I don't even have a way to find people to com with. But I must be respectful of how people want to play. Just don't think it is fair for the killers to go against voice com survivors.

Bully No One or Bully Everyone.
Good point Mr CookieBear. I like playing against the nurse. No looping against here as I can't loop anyone anyway.
-
I love the Cheryl Mason bloody clothes. I wear them with pride when If I get to Iridescent level. Also, since I cant loop the killers, I think it makes them think twice about picking me to chase when there are sooo many fabulous outfits for the other girls. Kind of like a non poison snake acting like a poison one. (Bull snakes vs rattle snakes in my area)
-
I enjoy playing against the Hag as she does not throw things. Her traps are fun to try and sneak over. Kind of like the trapper without stepping in his own trap.

I'd argue against "infinite" utility. Perhaps I suck with it, but I find I always waste it at the start of a match as I don't want to walk everywhere, then end up getting into a chase whilst exhausted. There's no such timing disadvantage with DH. When you need it, it's there.
Also I often see the dead zone argument, but this can be mitigated by staying away from dead zones (DH + Windows is just ultimate for me).
I could see an argument the perks are equally effective in certain scenarios but can't see DH as anything other than the strongest exhaustion perk right now. Especially post the validation buff.
I stopped walking everywhere. At first I did, but SB comes back while doing a gen or on a hook. But I do walk into the basement and walk out until the killer arrives. then SB because I cant loop the killer worth a penny

I would still argue Sprint Burst is stronger due to its infinite utility all match, and for rescuing you out of dead zones. But it may be a tie when you consider that Dead Hard can be activated on demand (given you are injured and not exhausted).
Sometimes I walk up behind a camping killer and use Sprintburst to get close enough to unhook before the hit. And I also use BT and hide behind the person I unhooked. Its a great combo for me.
-
@JPA said:
Yep, I see DH in pretty much every game, and when I'm on an MMR tear it's not at all rare to see all 4 survivors running DH.
Do people still claim sprintburst is more powerful than DH these days?
Yes I claim that. I don't use Dead Hard. Only sprint burst so I can get to gens faster. And also a burst of speed when I am not injured. I use BT, and Hook Eye (sorry dont know the name) Spine chill and SprintBurst. Got to iridescent 1 with these on a Nintendo sandbagging me.
-
Sir SweetTerror. I finally get what you are saying. Same thing happens to me. I am in the PST zone and when I play at 7:AM, I get easy wins but by 9:AM the flashlights and loopers are taking me for a ride. I also cannot complete the Pyramid Head challenge. Bravo to you for playing the Pyramid Head.

I can spend 400K and not get any thing worth using. I cant use a flashlight. The matches where survivors are trying to make money are quite fair I think. Broke survivors need money to buy that stuff. You can't buy blood points (thank goodness)
