I like to support the devs with money so I buy the killlers.
Killers complained about major issues of DS, MoM, hatch standoffs and Blendettes, all of which have been resolved. I appreciate the devs listen to some of our complaints. Fix Legion and I will be very happy.
If you are not at red rank, Plague is fun, different and enjoyable.
-
@Hatebreed321 I posed this very same question a while back. Everyone thought I was crazy.
Now if I get Haddonfield, I pick survivor bringing Balanced Landing for the following game. If I get a large map for the first game, I play Hillbilly for the next.
RNG - Have some of that!
-
I LOVE the loud screams. Its the chase music that needs lowering.

Mmm, not so sure about pairing Infectious Fright with Knock Out. Any screaming survivor will still know a downed teammate is nearby.
That's why you chase the screaming survivor instead of hooking the one you just downed. Knock Out prevents the other two survivors finding the slug easily not the one that just screamed.
-
Pair Infectious Fright with Knockout. People don't cleanse so you can get some one hit downs and Knockout helps with the slugging game.
-
I loved it when they broke the music so you couldn't hear it. I could hear Blendettes creeping into bushes mid chase. I would revert "fixing" the music.
I'd love old Legion back too (and old Freddy but leaving the new one in)
@Judgement - Good topic btw
-
A friendly Nea pointed out that Jake was hiding in a locker just as I knocked her down. In thanks I didn't hook her but the next time I encountered her she teabagged "hello". Since I was now her friend I didn't have the heart to kill her so I killed all her teammates instead and let her get on with her gens.
In hindsight I realise that I was probably reported for working with the other side so if I get banned, I know what it was for.

Maybe you do bones next time......
This is coming from someone with more hours in survivor than killer although I don't "main" either. It's usually just up to lobby times and my limited playtime.
@jeridan - Try playing solo. You can't do 5 sets of bones on your own.
As I used to moan about survivors running old DS and old MOM, I don't run NoEd because I want to earn my wins.
-
@Ember_Hunter I don't think the looping is the problem with Hillbilly, its the map pressure + instadown + instasaw addons + ruin.
Add all that together and solo games tend to turn into slugfests.
-
The steps I would make to fix SWF:
- Show SWF in the lobby
- Increase the penalty for lobby dodging (to be honest, its already a good 5 minutes because of the wait)
- Give a small bonus to the killer depending on the the number of team members to discourage lobby dodging
- Balance matchmaking around the top ranked swf player (not the bottom as it is now or even the average)
- Give all survivors Kindred or implement the idea from @RaginRendon to give status icons to see what the other survivors are doing
Killers need to know whether they need their best ######### to stand a chance. I don't want to waste an ebony mori on 4 solos that entered the lobby at the same time.
-
@GrootDude - Since you are using an anti-spirit build you should pick your brightest cosmetics. It gives her a disadvantage compared to other killers that would face you.
-
Legion has a power that you get to use exactly once per game.
- Top tier: PC Nurse, Spirit, Hillbilly
- Second tier: Everyone else (welcome Freddy)
- Third tier: Nobody
- Fourth tier: Legion
They are so bad they are two tiers below the second worse killer in the game.
-
@SenzuDuck - I expected to come away from it with some information that we didn't already know.
Even if it was corporately controlled, they could have at least have prepared some exclusive information specially for the AMA, as a lot of the questions were those that people have been wanting answers to for a long time.
The answer to the second question in the AMA summary tells you all you need to know about how the rest of the AMA went, "Can we have another bloodpoint event?", "Yes, there will be more of these in the future."
-
Bubba: Chainsaw sprint
Hillbilly: Chainsaw can hit multiple survivors
-
I can't hit greats.
Ruin is no fun for anyone, hitting greats is difficult for many, searching for ruin is inefficient and boring plus its bad for killers too as it is almost mandatory reducing the variation in perks.
-
I hope we get some real answers to questions that haven't been answered properly in the past.
I like the live streams but there is a lot of, "we're not doing anything about x yet but we will continue to monitor it."
-
The power an SWF team has in someone communicating, "anyone near that hooked Nea? No, I'll get her, stay on your gens" is not something that can be removed. You can't stop them communicating but you can try to level the playing field by letting solos have some of the info the SWfs have.
-
One thing I like about DBD is that unless you play Huntress, it isn't a first person shooter. I like that the skill in the game is different to other first/third person perspective games.
As soon as I saw the guns, it put me off.
-
-
I've always wanted this. If a couple of people equip a flashlight, I have to remember who has Mad Grit, switch to them, try and remember everything in the Fruit Ninja build, find and equip all of those perks, pick a couple of addons AND grab a Mori. I usually run out of time.
-
I love the idea of new icons telling solo players what everyone else is doing.
-
I haven't seen those frame-drops much recently (PS4 Pro). I got one the other day and it reminded me how bad it used to be to be. I'd almost forgotten about them.
-
@DevourOfSalt - People complain about her multi-blink addons all the time. I think that will be the focus of any Nurse nerfs if they happen. If it is a Nurse buff I think it will be something controller friendly.
-
@yandere777 - That's a lot of counting for a lot of killers. I just want a rough idea who should get my next million bloodpoints. A new perk might come out that I want on everybody, so I want them roughly at the same level without having to count.
Right now I do it by how many pages the perks take up, but that can be deceptive as early killers I used like Bubba have a smaller number of perks but at level 3 and newer killers have lots of perks but most at level 1.
-
I watched a streamer constantly downing the same guy and letting him go (so he didn't bleed out) until he found a Dwight who was hiding near the hatch for the entire game. It got to the point where the guy who kept getting downed ended up helping the killer find the hatch camper using bond.
In the end he hooked the guy that gave away the position of the person who hid all match and gave the hatch camper the hatch because "Hey he did SO well at playing evasive, he deserved it".
The whole stream cried.
-
The devs said that one of the reasons for the Freddy rework is that he was particularly hard for new survivors. Doc is also hard for new players to deal with.
I am surprised he is near the front of the queue for changes when poor Legion is sat crying in the corner of Coldwind farm.
-
In public matches, I have downed survivors somewhere between 0 and 99 times with The Huntress' Hatchets further than 24 meters.
It might be 99, but I'm pretty sure it is 0.
-
They had to put lots of effort into optimising the code to release the game for underpowered platforms such as Android and Switch. Small improvements are definitely already there, we don't see as many framerate complaints as we used to.
I's be very surprised to see 60fps on a standard PS4/XBox One but the "pro" consoles should be very achievable.

@ColgateAdvancedWhite said:
How do I loop if i play with a steering wheel?
@ColgateAdvancedWhite - See that's a noob mistake. Top tier survivors use a Sega Bass Fishing Rod. Easy killer loops just by twirling the fishing reel in and out.
This controller will be even more suitable when Jaws becomes the next killer (here I go again!)
-
If you kill everyone too easily the Entity thinks you were against trash survivors and not worthy of progress towards the next level.
-
I find it bewildering that a killer gets upset because he/she thought you were a bad teammate. A fellow survivor giving you grief I would understand.
-
@LCGaster said:
The Haddonfield map is incredibly unbalanced and it's very easy to abuse it's design
At least it will be reworked in a few months
@LCGaster - The rework won't help against survivors that choose the Haddonfield offering armed with Balanced Landing. The devs will shuffle the map layout but I can't see them reducing the number of drops.
-
I used to be blissfully unaware that I had the exposed status effect from Make Your Choice. I like the scary noise.
-
When I play survivor, to my eyes Meg looks friendly, but when I play killer she looks mean.
I don't even know Is this all in my head.
-
Is Chapter 13 just a map? I know that we might not get a new survivor but we are at least getting a killer right?
After all, we did get no map and no survivor for Chapter 12.
-
I have ONE BBQ invitation that I forgot to use last year on my Feng and it annoys me being there. I don't need a NEW event, I just want a reason to put silly amounts of time into the game.
People are saying that they would rather have no event so that the bugs can be fixed. So would I but the bugs will not be fixed. It STILL can't even calculate what rank I am on the end game summary screen three years on from the bug being reported!
You know what would make me happy? An event. Even a rubbish unbalanced one full of bugs.
-
I hit survivors on the hook when they have been naughty.
-
If the doc change is a buff I'd like to see Doc's default range to be longer and to also replace his crazy donut shaped zap with something usable. However they might instead choose to Nerf his ability to find survivors so easily.
-
- Don't lobby dodge, when you see you have a difficult game, remind yourself that you are not supposed to win against SWFs. Losses usually derank you so never skipping tough matches will keep you at a lesser rank with easier games
- Play characters you aren't familiar with or those that are considered bad killers. If and when you lose, hey at least you didn't lose as Hillbilly or Spirit!
- Don't use your best stuff. It always feels stressful when you can't get a single use out of your ebony mori
- Hook them and forget them. Resist the urge to check back on your work and just patrol your gens, again if you lose, you lost because you were overly fair
- If an expert looper tries to bait you into a chase, take the challenge, lose the challenge, but enjoy the learning experience.
- Play interesting perks rather than the best perks, yet again, if you lose, you have a reason
-
If the survivors pick Haddonfield then yes they will use Balanced Landing. Beat them at their own game, successively play all your Haddonfield offerings with all your killers. They won't be expecting it so cannot prep for it in advance. Playing the same map over and over again will really help you.
I did this playing survivor using all my "The Game" offerings in a day in a feeble attempt to learn the map. I'm sure I upset quite a few survivors.
-
Don't start on a gen until you either hear the heartbeat come and go, or until someone else gets hit. Use the time to cleanse some bones or scout around the gen you intend to start first so you know your ideal route to a pallet or window.

I don’t play killer anymore because I just find it boring, always have tbh.

Yes. Yes I am. :D
@grootdude - Killer is boring? Maybe you need to git bad.
-
So are you going to leave @Mushwin?
-
I've been really looking forward to a summer event. It I beleived that bugs will be fixed I might be happy. But I don't.
All the assets are there from last year. Give me a couple of free cosmetics and I'm satisfied.
-
You need a beta game. One to give yourself a break. When you are so invested in a game like this, you will see issues that get you frustrated. I've been playing GTA5 recently, it is nothing compared to DBD but it will give you a break.
You will feel the calling back to DBD.
Also remember, play killer. Then at least your success is in your own hands*
*Unless SWF obvs.
-
Once the Nurse nerf is in place, cross play can include PC too!
-
Shadow puppet hands.
-
Yeah, they just want a higher frame rate.
-
The biggest difference is in swf, "Who is closest to rescue the random?"
When everyone is solo, everyone or noone tries to rescue the random.
I am that random that nobody rescues.
This is why solos end up as killers.
