@Weck - There will always be a meta but minor nerfs to the meta, and minor buffs to the trash can reduce the impact of the meta and improve variety. We are expecting a Nurse nerf and we know the devs have their eye on tweaks to the Cannibal. This will reduce the gulf between the top and bottom. They can do the same with Survivor perks.
-
Yes someone who already knows how to play survivor will easily get to rank 15 as a new killer.

Agreeing here. Whispers has some niche situations, but they are rare. Yeah it's good to know that in that corner noone is. But if the gen isn't touched I wouldn't search anyway, cuz searching wastes to much time. And I saw so many people searching with whispers but couldn't find anyone. Endgame whispers is strong, there is no counter in 1v1. But that's about it. Overrated.
@justarandy - I've spotted a Yoda main!
-
I'd recommend beginners aim for
- Unrelenting - Beginners WILL whiff their hits (and it does not need unlocking)
- Bloodhound - Makes chases MUCH easier until you get used to scratchmarks
- Ruin - Because new survivors will not hit great skill checks
- B&Q - For points
I'd suggest they stick with the first two perks until they are comfortable enough to play without them and then drop them for:
- Nurses Calling - But don't try to PLAY Nurse
- Enduring or Discordance
-
@dbd_noob, @prayer_survivor - Better to get zero kills trying to get two kills. It IS more about having fun!
-
Second Wind introduces a timer so it heals you, but not immediately. The devs could conceivably copy and paste the mechanics into the Instaheal code.
Although that would break the sound and stop dead hard from working.
-
I would stand near the shack so I could hopfully bait someone to go for the save.
-
@Mushwin - Just wait, insteals will lose their insta-status soon using the new mechanics introduced with the Second Wind perk! Hopefully. Maybe?
-
@se05239 - True, I'd love to see them remove depipping for a month, just to see what would happen. It might cause chaos, but it might actually help.

with nancys perk coming out, aren't people going to be more determine to cleanse any bones? initally getting rid of MORE hex totems and well the up and coming NOED? just a thought...running that and small game.....o.O
Yes, that and the extra points for cleansing are both trying to encourage people to cleanse my bones. The devs are moving this in the right direction.

Tattooed Middle Finger for Clown. I want him to be powerful!
Carburetor Tuning Guide for Leatherface
Franks Mix Tape for The Legion.
Kindred for survivors, but I don't think it would need to show the killer. Survivors would be able to watch their team mates to look for signs of camping and make their own judgement.
-
Also , if you do not lobby dodge, you end up playing SWF groups that everybody else has been lobby dodging. Because they get lobby dodged every evening, they have little opportunity to get to the rank they belong and you end up playing an imbalanced number of toxic swf groups.
I see Mrs JawsIsTheNextKiller's toxic SWF group sat there for an hour waiting for someone to accept 4 Blendettes with toolkits and instaheals and she says, "Why can't I get a game?", and then good guy/gal @About8Genjis takes the challenge! Good on you.
-
@chieftaco - No but I would like to see some kind of enchanted protection for veteran players that would prevent red and purple rank survivors from using Adrenaline, BT, DS and Dead Hard. That would be wonderful!
-
Be a team player and hold the struggle for as long as you can to allow your team to do gens. I know if sucks for you, but you help out your team and discourage the killer from repeating it as they will likely depip. Face-camping is much rarer as you level up.
With tunneling, I try to take it on the chin and move on to the next game, again, try and waste the killers time if at all possible. As you get higher up the ranks this also becomes a little less common as borrowed time becomes a concern for the killer.
-
Just to reiterate what others have said, this is a bug on console only and does not exist on PC. If a console killer DCs (in a very specific way that the forum rules would not allow me to say), you lose all your accumulated points and do not get 5000 escape points. If you see a points accumulation at all, it will be the points you obtained from the games before the one that had the DC, but the points will NOT be added to your total. You also lose all your crap.
This is largely anticipated to be fixed with dedicated servers.
-
@Thaznar - If his success rate is lower than that of Nurse, Spirit or tHe MoSt BaLanCeD KiLLeR iN tHe GaMe then they absolutely must not nerf him. We've got three killers at the top, we need four.
-
Or even just "Danger".
When I first saw "Exposed", I looked down to check my pants and then got stabbed in the neck.
-
@LCGaster - I have some beers in the fridge and I am playing as a filthy SWF survivor tonight. Can I have your thoughts on my drunk build?
- Feng Min, bright red dress from the Chinese New Year event (to encourage chases)
- Medkit with any addon that makes skill checks easier
- Technician so only half my missed skillchecks cause an explosion
- Small Game - To get rid of ruin and to give me something to do that won't cause missed skillchecks
- Windows of Opportunity (to help my blurred vision get to a pallet)
I'm tempted to use Alert to keep an eye on the killer but that would leave me without an exhaustion perk.
-
@Jonathanskilz - Why do you think dream snares need a nerf? they feel just right to me.
-
I'm so pleased so many people think he is perfectly balanced. I'm so looking forward to not having to hear "BiLLy iS tHe MoSt BaLanCeD KiLLeR iN tHe GaMe" like its an indisputable fact.
I'm cheering for you Freddy!

This happens only at the start of a game for me. But its a good sign for Survivors that there is a not-so-competent Billy out there.
I only bump into things when I use the Steering Add-Ons, because I seem to end up on Lerys or The Game when using them.
You can use the word #########. Don't worry I won't be offended! lol

Whispers is really good on Billy and Nurse, because you travel the Map so fast. You can simply chainsaw across the Map and keep an eye on Whispers.
I am at the point where I basically need Whispers, because I have played so much with it.
-
Remember how facing a hillbilly with Ruin used to feel when we were learning the game? A solo yellow rank survivor, playing with other solo yellow rank survivors. Everyone slugged within the first three minutes?
This is going to be the experience of the new players. I can already hear the sound of Hillbillies deranking themselves in the distance.
-
If "drunk you" were in the same swf as "sober you", who would perform better?
I sometimes wake up with a hangover, put on DBD and drunk me has taken me to purple ranks. Then sober me plays and I go back to green.
Drunk me tells me to git gud. Drunk me can ######### off.
-
Recently killers got some decent improvements recently so I have no complaints as they are still underpowered. I wouldn't begrudge small nerfs to a couple of op killer perks that too many killers are using.
I don't think Noed and ruin need to be as game changing as they are. I can play really well and still depip and the next game play terribly and 4K and double-pip. The difference? Did they find my ruin or not.
-
Game 1: "I'm out the gate, see ya suckers!"
Game 2: "Hey, why have you all left me on the hook"
-
Are you more drunk or less drunk than @Mushwin right now?

No, useless or not I still use perks for interesting builds like Vigil Pharmacy Ace in the Hole and Balanced Landing. It all comes down to the question of, why you bought them knowing the Shrine exists?
@Unit - Buying DLC gives it to all users of the system and supports the devs. So If I buy the Stranger Things DLC, Mrs JawsIsTheNextKiller gets it too, I can play the new killer, and she can play the new survivors. Its better value for us than both of us spending shards that we'd rather spend on cosmetics.
I'll probably unlock Trash perks for the survivors I like (such as Jeff) and leave the ones I will only play for dailies (such as Quentin)
-
if I see anyone with ttv in their name, I will bring a green Mori and (try to) tunnel and camp him. Then hopefully I can watch my glorious 1K victory on the vod.
-
Beating the Demogorgon by hiding out of sight and constantly summoning creatures next to him so he'd waste his spells on them (which would expire by the time he figured out where Minsc and Boo were).
I beat you in Baldur's Gate II Demogorgon, I shall beat you again.
-
Giving us chase indicators or a built in Kindred are the easiest quick-wins for closing the gap between solos and swf.
If I play swf, I'm not capable of relaying accurately the positions of the remaining gens, the killer, the hex ruin, the exit gate or the hatch unless they are in a really describable spot - the main building or the shack. However, all levels of swf can say, I'm being camped, I'm being chased or come and get me. Even at my swf level, I STILL feel like I am cheating!
-
Seeing the red stain through the walls makes the pc version worse not better.
-
@Aztreonam78 - I am so with you on this. I'm looking forward to the PTB (that I won't be playing) just so I can read the patch notes and get excited for changes.
They might buff Legion, they might nerf NoEd. Remember when they sprung that Blendette nerf? Nobody was expecting that.
Let us be excited!
-
@Thaznar - A halloween event where you lose a fair percentage of your accumulated pustula if you died would be a good test for a secondary objective.
-
On more than one occasion, I have let a Nea live after she pointed at a locker containing a team mate. Only because I felt guilty.
I guess I won't be doing that again as that would definitely look like working with the other side.
-
@Rizzo90 - Is it time to create a quiz? - Bannable or Not Bannable. Free auric cells for the first person to score 100% and for whoever scores the lowest, ban them for 24 hours. That will be great fun!
-
I loved the halloween event. It's a shame that a minority of people were letting themselves die. I don't think we'll get a pustula event this year because of all the complaining we did when the devs can just say they are fixing bugs instead.
It's a shame because I think it would be good to experiment futher with second objectives.
-
@YaiPa - Thanks that was an interesting watch. If you imagine watching it without Pug talking and laughing, the sandbag may have looked like an accident, although the teabagging didn't help.
Pointing at the killer or survivors (when they are in plain sight) is bm but not bannable. Not rescuing is also not bannable.
AFAIK somebody can't be banned just for being a dick.
-
Performance anxiety. I've played this game for a year and I am still a potato survivor. I don't like that I am expected to be a great looper or hit great skill checks.
-
When playing killer I would also appreciate the hud showing who I am chasing as sometimes it can be difficult tracking who is mad, who is sick and sometimes, because of lack of information, I will accidentally tunnel (or accidentally not tunnel) someone.
Balance is baby steps. Reducing the enormous solo to swf gap is a prerequisite of tackling survivor to killer imbalance.
-
1.)
No I'm out.
-
Jakes whimpering always makes me laugh.
And will somebody please give Adam a lozenge?

Nah. Im the opposite of you:
I like to hit the last survivor on the hook as a frenzied Legion because they do not stop (don't patch that please).
I once carried the last survivor around the map for five minutes looking for the hatch. When I found it, I dropped they only to mori them right there next to it ;-)
I have so much fun with this game!

I don't think it is going to change, we all have been salty at some point, even the low salt, compared to the hardcore rock salt....i think we all have said or done something that is very much salty and that we haven't been happy about. My salt goes sort of like, "thanks for tunelling me" and once yeah i may have called someone a twat. But i am not the sort who very much goes beyond and starts talking about threats and really horrid disgusting stuff. This game peeves us all off at some point and some point i wish to toss my controller at the tv but eh, i try just to forget, move on, string a few cuss words out loud, throw a sock at Mr Mushwin (joke) and just move on. This game i think was designed to send some of us rocking in a corner and crying into a cup of tea lol
@Mushwin - If Mr Mushwin gets things thrown at him when you lose, you should make up for this by throwing him treats when you win. (I recommend bacon).
-
I was so looking forward to Boredlands and then they gave it away free on PS Plus! It's the single most disappointing game I've played since Civilization VI.
My unpopular opinion is: Dead By Daylight is the best game of all time (Civilization V was the best before that, and Baldur's Gate II before that)
I've been gaming since the Entity was running around in diapers and no game has kept me playing this much a year after getting addicted to it!
-
@Jdsgames - We've long been told that Presiging was just for cosmetics. If they suddenly reverted that it would be a smack in the face for people who decided not to prestige.
Giving every character automatic level 3 on their own teachables would be appreciated though.
