I don't play killer very often anymore (mostly due to game performance on console) but rolled out my Piggy yesterday.
Randomly got Hawkins, and proceeded to get steamrolled. They all entered without items, but then I'm getting pallet blinded by two of them and all four easily looped me for ages. The only saving grace was they couldn't spin me I'd just stop and swing. But ended up only killing one, and that was due to them screwing around at the gates.
Then I see the tallyboard: im an Ash VI and they were all Red (two I and two III). One of them was streaming so I took a look. They were a four-man all on PC, although one had a broken mic. The streamer was pleasant enough and thanked me because they'd been waiting 33 minutes for a match, which I guess is why I was tossed at them.
Thank you matchmaking.
-
All known fps drop triggers remain. Teleports are rarer now, but funny things can still happen around falling pallets. Menus are still laggy especially the bloodweb and rift areas.
In sum the last couple of patches have softened some problems, but the game runs poorer now than before the RE chapter ripped and teared.

BHVR has stated they are trying to get it done but can’t they if it will ever happen. You should definitely not expect it. Whereas Switch is confirmed to join cross Progression at some point.
Yes, sadly the same for us on Xbox too.

Most of Amanda Panda's add-ons are poop. Many encourage going after survs with traps on them, which imo is the wrong way to play her. A few actually hurt her in a trial.
She soooooo needs an add-on pass. Then maybe a few tweaks to her power and kit.
As far as stomping noobs they don't know how to counter her yet, like 99%ing gens, or get very unlucky with the Jigsaws.

They don't, fixing them is EXTREMELY simple.
Make hatch spawn once all 5 gens are finished or only 1 survivor alive. Simple number change just like mories.
Perfect fix for now, no premature escaping the match just like no premature kills with mories.
They can't do that change without changing the 4man escape achievements, and changing achievements on console is a huge pain apparently.

Damn, not gonna lie I was kinda hoping to wake up to this issue solved. There's no way they are gonna make us wait till Tuesday right?
They've never reverted the update whenever this situation has occurred in the past. It's always been wait for the full rollout of the patch to fix it unfortunately.
When I noticed these forums posting about the version problems I was already playing DBD. Luckily i have auto-update off so i am still running the current version, and i let my team mates know not to get the update if they can avoid it.
So three were saved from this nonesense.

Probably because it was easier to balance moris out, it was just a value change.
I believe keys need to be completely replaced as a mechanic.
They keys being tied to some challenges and a couple of Achievements/Trophies complicates the process.

Something else us consolers dont get to mess around with dammit! On Xbox ya get to change your name only once a month, and I don't believe it's free either...

I let them boop if they want, but after that we play the game normally.
This is pretty much my approach, unless it becomes obvious it is a team of noobs. In that case I'll sacrifice the best two and farm with the other two

remember the console optimization pass? haven't seen a word on that in over a year
early game collapse? more like - nerf mori's for a 2nd (technically 3rd but base moris were broken af)
key changes? more like - toxicity has no meaning anymore because people broadened the lexis to include anything that mildly inconveniences them rather than acts deliberately done to ruin someone's day
the realm beyond? well from the looks of things that got abandoned when resident evil/all kill was released
quality events? sorry we got rehashed 4th year event's with community challenges slapped onto it to make it look less like login rewards
Shirtless Myres? no. Shirtless Oni is CLEARLY the better option smh
To that listing I'd add their goal of 60fps for all platforms from March 2019. Haven't heard a peep since about it.

it’s fun when it’s a balanced match not a sweat squad ever game. Especially when I’m not playing a high tier killer like trapper.
Trapper likes that you said that. Even he doesn't believe it, but appreciates the luvinz!

If you put in the work, Nurse and Blight can be mastered, although imo not played to their fullest potential on console. Trickster still had a funky random recoil issue to me. The other ranged killers will take more practice to get good with than on PC but certainly are viable. Also what @Bloodshade suggests is vital for our controllers to approach the, well, control we need.
All this is contingent on how the frames are treating ya that day as well. The game's performance on console has been and continues to be the deciding factor for everything in the fog.

As a sidenote because I haven't seen it mentioned:
Any of Wraith's add-ons that apply a status effect can cause some horrendous freezing.
As it relates to Wraith, most run "all seeing" and each time I lose a stack of my Distortion there's a half second freeze. I too though it was cosmetic-related but maybe not.

Nah 360s have been here for absolutely ages. I remember late 2016 videos with them in
Ahhh yes I can always spot those vids easily because the four perks are in a row not a cluster.
As far as for the OP, my ways of countering a 360 attempt are don't lunge attack just swung, or even take a step backward and then swing.

They are always the same maps.
Nearly always used by SWF teams.
Always salt in the end-game chat... even when they win.
It's not the offerings it's the balance of the maps being chosen. That's where any changes need to be made.
Also just removing the offerings will make #########-yourself Myers very sad.

@Harold_Shipman said:
Nobody can deny the advantage SWF has over solo queue. It seems a bit of a missed opportunity that SBMM is matching people based on their performance but overlooking this detail. so 4 solo survivors with the same MMR score as 4 SWF will be matched wityh the same killers.
What is SBMM considered SWF as a single MMR score. for example a 4 man SWF with a score of 200 each (making a lot of assumptions about the match making here) were actually given a score of 800 / 1 for the number of partcpants (1 team) = 800. Or a SWF group with 3 people who had 200, and a solo queue player who had 100 would be 300x3 + 100 = 1000 / number of parties (2: the 3 man and 1 solo) = 500.
This would match coordinated groups with survivors of much higher skill level, and solo queues would be matched against lower scoring killers to compensate for the fact that, well, solo queue is ######### awful.
Last i heard they average out the scores of a SWF just as the proir rank system did, and use that single score. So no different than averaging four solos I think.

Its not about winning or losing. its about knowing if my match was fair or not. If i go against a solo team and they beat me I'd be impressed and not feel cheated
Fair? Is it fair for us consolers to go against things like video filters, sound card settings, stretch res, can't use m&k, anything above 30fps, etc? Or wait half an hour or more with Crossplay off? We can dodge our teammates, but not the killer.
What's cheating and what isn't?

I doubt that there will be any changes to Totems. They will add the ability to bless a Totem as Survivor to activate a Boon-Perk and that is it. And if there is no Dull Totem on the Map, the Survivor cannot use their Perk.
Maybe once a surv is sacrificed their boon reverts to a dull totem, so perks like NOED could still trigger.

I think they can suffer to wait until they find a killer that wants to deal with it. They are playing at a massive advantage already so they can wait for a sweaty killer to want to play with them. I will even face swfs from time to time willingly but the consistency that I'm seeing it during SBMM is dumb.
But that does't happen. Once a team is waiting for like 15-20min the new MMR, and the old system, widen the skill gap and after like 25 min throw in the next available killer no matter their skill. The devs have always considered queue times when coming up with their changes, not wanting to punish anyone in either role.

Sloppy is pretty awful, I've found it to be the worst on the Crotus Prenn maps tho. Probably cuz of all the smoke and particle effects
Sloppy is such a drag on performance for both sides that I haven't run it for over a year. Sad we have to decide between frames and perks, especially the known trigger ones that have been with us for many a patch.

I'm tired of facing comp teams and op swfs. literally 4 games in a row, I'm ok with testing how good I am against 1. Absolutely infuriating to play against these teams in the games current unbalanced state. Show whos in swfs so im not constantly facing them. Not to mention how arrogant and nasty this community is at that level and you defend this crap by not doing anything about it.
One bad night of playing otherwise my win ratio is relatively high against solo q and non comp swfs. Don't tell me I don't know because i've played enough to know the difference.
The chief concern in showing a SWF in the lobby is them being dodged into oblivion, which is what you wish to do I think. Or worse yet their long af queue times get them matched with any killer available, often a rookie.
When they last put out stats (over 2rys ago now) it showed half of all survs in at least a two-man team. With how wonderful solo queue is these days there's no way the number of SWF hasn't grown since then.
So you're talking about most of the surv playerbase here is going to be put on blast and dodged repeatedly, far more than they likely are right now. Think through what you propose will do to the community.

Yea i'm getting hit through windows even though i'm on the other side and the animation is complete and my internet is working fine.
That's most likely due to latency. The killer, and their lunge, are about two or three steps closer than they appear on-screen to the surv. On the killer's pov they appear right up your bunghole when they swing.

"Skill based matchmaking ratings are also separate for each Killer, meaning you’ll have tougher matches with the Killer you’re really good at, but easier matches when you’re trying out a new Killer for the first time."
I have 2.5k hours in the game. Currently sitting at Iri II killer (casual killer not a particularly good one) I have never played Demogorgon in my life. I have no perks (except for the three tier 1 teachables). I wanted to test to see if what BHVR said would happen, would actually happen and I would be matched with less skilled survivors considering I have never played that killer before. So I bought Demo and jumped into a game.
I was absolutely obliterated by 4 Iri I/II survivors. They ran every tile near-perfectly, they were optimal, managed their time efficiently. If anything, this was a significantly higher standard of team than I used to get.
Not impressed.
It is also possible that squad had been waiting for a long long time and the system yoinked the next available killer. Guess you won that prize. I had hoped that senario wasn't supposed to happen anymore, but who knows...

they have a screen dedicated to asking you to report the crash. What prompts that? If they can make that pop up when it crashes now you know how easy it is to train their dc system to know the difference
I have never ever seen this pop up for me when DBD crashes. Is this a PC-only thingy?

Indoor maps make me sad. Encouraging the w key strat, makes counter rotation rather challenging if they do the w-key-but-i-use-my-eyes-behind-me plan, good for stealth killers but awful for most others, confusing to navigate for both sides-
I just don't like indoor maps. Especially not Hawkins.
This sums it up nicely. Toss in bad frame rates as well, especially on Lery's.

There are not as many high skill players as you think there are. If they go, because they can´t stomp noobs anymore, then so be it.
The rest of the playerbase will enjoy the fair matches.
This. It has been demonstrated repeatedly the devs make changes with the entire playerbase in mind, not just the more vocal "sweats" on both sides.
If it works correctly it'll provide more even matches for almost everyone, and keep the game in that party/non-competitive zone.
-
Wouldn't such a plan require them to remember mutiple smm scores for the same player?
When I am not solo there's about 15 others I might join with depending on the day of the week, job/college schedules, etc. Due to the changing players skills are all over the place, and only a few reach red ranks like ever . Most of the time it'll be 3-4 man groups but it varies widely. And I bet other teams are just as chaotic.
So the system would have to record a score for each survivor in each possible team make-up? I don't see that happening, just taking an average like they said it would.

I ask myself why some massive open word games perform well on console, but dbd struggles at times. I honestly believe its a range of issues with the code and validation.
One of the issues that I believe cause my Xbox1 to choke & gag so badly with DBD is the fact that every element of every killer (perks, add-ons, power, sound, everything) is loaded into each and every trial, regardless of which killer it is.
So when something is needed, the ride down the spaghetti, rigatoni, and ziti might take a minute or three to find it. And four killers are added per year, lengthening it further.

Well, there are games that somehow manage to spawn literally hundreds of detailed zombies in open-world environments. I know it's a big ask but perhaps they could clean up the spaghetti code enough to manage more than 8 character models in a controlled area lol
Might as well ask for $10 million and one of their kidneys...

I don't think mobile was included at all. Last i heard around 70% of those using a PlayStation or Xbox are still on the proir gen machines, no doubt due to availability & price & scalping.

Yeah, that's a good point too. Not thought about it in terms of platform. Undoubtably, that would have some sort of influence. It's still a comparatively small number compared to the number of PC players though.
Did we ever get an overall figure on any satisfaction survey they've hosted? Would be intriguing to see, if not.
I found the rough numbers I posted a while ago and took a screenshot. I got them from a very forbidden place, and the UEA'S with the consoles make official numbers impossible to get, so keep that in mind.
No doubt the numbers across the board have grown since mid 2020 especially with the RE and anniversary hype. But also the RE patch nuking the consoles undoubtedly shrunk those numbers too.
If anything is useful from those numbers I'd say it's the platform ratios, which I tend to believe.

There are quite a few complaining threads, but people on these forums are only a very small part of the overall player base, and it's common knowledge people will more likely write to vent or stress something they don't like than write something positive.
It's likely many more enjoy the game than don't. Just that they don't have a negative reason to write anything.
From my time here it seems to me most of the posters are on PC, especially the veterans and the much larger killer pool. This makes sense, as the game came out on PC first. But I feel console is very under-represented here, despite collectively being the larger playerbase.
Maybe in general consolers are less vocal dunno...

Slowly but surely this game has been dying for me. I don't mean mmr or unbalance, I mean I physically can't play it. I play on Xbox one where random freezes has become the norm. There are several killers I just can't play because of the freezing. I want to play like the streamers I watch, they look like they're having a lot of fun. I can't, the reality is that because I can't drop 800 dollars on a new console I am being left behind. These complaints are pretty common for last gen guys like myself. But nothing is being done to fix this and make things playable again. Whenever I try survivor I freeze whenever I use and exhaustion perk, everyone knows about console dead hard. But when I try using lithe I just stand still right after vaulting the window.
So serious question, should I just uninstall? There is likely not going to be anything done to fix this. I've played for 2 1/2 years and its been fun but its more of a hassle than entertainment at this point.
I feel your pain. As for uninstalling, you should prolly only do that if you're dead-ass convinced it'll never improve to what is acceptable to you. Sounds like you're close to that point right now.
