Pretty much either no dev kit or time to spare. I wish they just abandon switch 1 and make it switch 2 hate it say it.
Because DBD is a live service game they cannot drop any platform the game is on until Nintendo officially stops support for it (prolly next year) or the game physically cannot be run on it anymore.

It would prolly straight up melt a Switch and slide onto the floor! 😂😜

That would be cool so those on console could customize them as well.

As far as I know they've never banned anyone for it, but they look at it like this: if EAC detects and bans for it, BHVR will not unban you. So it's very much at your own risk.

Well, if according to the schedule, we should get the Bugfix 9.2.2 patch on Tuesday, October 7.
Switch would get this patch around one week later, so on Tuesday, October 14 at the latest.Yikes?

get a pc then if it means that much to you. maybe it's the console manufacturers?
It's not the capabilities of any of the consoles the game is out on, it's the way the original 2016 game was coded.
Back in May 2019 they put out a goal of getting all platforms running the game at 60 fps minimum. After more than a year they fessed up that they just couldn't do it. Not because of the relative strengths of the machines then, but because of an apparently insurmountable resource bottlenecking problem.
Those running DBD even on powerful PC's can notice this, as the game is an unusually voracious gobbler of resources. Especially for what the game does and looks like graphically.
Despite years of patches and even an engine upgrade, the base game underneath remains Blueprints with C++ sause on top. Now combine all that with iffy optimization and memory leaks all its existence, and here we are.

Just another bit of functionality lost for no reason whatsoever. You have to restart the game for your steam name to update in game. Can there be a priority to fix this for PC players? Thanks.
Y'all can change your name around in a game? Wouldn't be that get confusing, particularly for streamers?

It looks like every patch going forward will be delayed a few days just for Switch, isolating them from matchmaking during that gap with the other platforms due to the differing updates.

But I can remember 6 of them that I see all the time: Nurse, Blight, Ghoul, Wesker, Darklord and for some time after release new one whatever it is now Krasue.
Others killers appear from time to time but they are so rare. Also usualy when they appear they are using most unfun tactics possible like slug all 4.
So is there anyone who feels the same or it is just me?
It entirely depends on what MMR, time of day, and especially Region you're playing in for what you see in your trials.

on paper with a select amount of player she was probably balanced. This is why the PTB is useless to gain real data. The player pool is small and selective. You don’t have newbies playing you have seasoned streamers mostly or seasoned players. Yes they can exploit certain points but that is not the base player group. You have a massive amount of console players that seem to be neglected and each update makes it worse. Only opening the PTB to basically streamers on PC is very short sided and won’t give you the full aspect of benefits or drawback's. It’s like a clinical test without the placebo.
It's not just the consoles that cannot use any PTB, it's also those on Windows and Epic as well.

Many developers find ways around it, such as running events or offers that double or triple progress to ease the requirements.
I would love for some help like that. Ones like 100 hatchets fired from Mars are just too much, especially with a controller. 😁
The RPD one still sticks out as both gross and disgusting.

Some killer and survivor related achievements have an absurd number tied to them on steam, like picking up 100 survivors from traps or entering Evil Incarnate 300 times or Outbreak Breakout requiring 20 gate openings and escapes. Will there be a chance that these achievements see a lowered number requirement? I know on Xbox or Playstation the trapper one is only 10 if I recall correctly.
From what I recall unless the achievement or trophy is completely impossible to attain they cannot alter them at all.

Lithe - now only triggers when fast vaulting window (remove boost from pallets and medium vaults)

Déja Vu - reveals the closests gens at all time, no longer grants speed boost untill at least one survivor is sacrificed
Finesse - increase cooldown to 60s, cause 30s exhausted
Dead Hard - is now active when one hook from dead and is deactivated in EGC
Vigil - decrease value from 40 % to 10 %, no longer stacks, no longer decreases exposed
Iron will - when active, you suffer mangled and hemmorage untill fully healed
Adrenaline - no longer grants speed boost, no longer ignores exhausted
We'll make it - decrease heal bonus from 100 to 75 %
Bottany knowledge - decrease bonus from 50 % to 30 %
Last stand - decrease stun to 1.5s, remove increased valut speed
Conviction - grants ability to pick up for 30s when fully recovered
Not a big fan of any of these suggestions, and as stated above its best to improve perks to be more useful rather than weakening them harshly.
Doing this to Lithe for instance would make it utterly useless within Gideon, and not much help anywhere there's very few window vaults like Haddonfield etc.

There's just too much rng elements to be truly competitive, and the MMR would have to be much more strict than it is.

How many people have actually played a party game? I see people saying that DBD is supposed to be a party game, and I'm wondering how many people have actually played a party game in a real life party?
Party games are supposed to have really simple rules, so that people can quickly learn the games even if they're drunk. They often involve very simple minigames like "mash a button to pull a boat", or "guess what percentage of Americans have used roller skates in the past year", or "guess what picture your teammate is drawing".
What part of this is anything like DBD? Does anyone think they can go to a real life party, teach drunk people how to play this game, and then have the new people do well in this game?
DBD isn't a party game by definition, no. I think players incorrectly use that label, meaning they believe DBD is much more casual multiplayer game to them than any kind of sweat playstyle.

I remember seeing something about MMR changes coming but I don't remember where or when or if the source was even legit.
there definitley needs to be MMR adjustments. I feel perpetually stuck in mid mmr where a lot of survivors are just…so so bad. But because im solo Q (my firends quit DBD), I often die as a result despite me being the only one to complete gens, survive chase, and heal and rescue.
The emblem progression should influence MMR, not survives or Kills. Maybe that would make solo q less frustrating and potentially curb tunneling a bit since tunneling will then be seen as "less efficient".I think two of the biggest things they can do to strengthen their MRR system is to lock or remove the lobby, and to raise the soft cap again.
I've always believed the lobby dodging and shopping around that results in the awful backfilling problem is th worse issue for MMR to function properly.
As for the soft cap, they did make things much more strict a couple of years back. The complaints about that were those sweats had to wait too long and got burnt out constantly going against other sweats. Perhaps we should revisit this.

I totally forgot about PTBs exclusively only working on Steam. Kinda crazy actually. But wouldn't it work as like a LTM? I thought it sounded like a cool idea and a possible solution to this issue.
There must be a reasonable way to do it. Not having something like 80% of the playerbase unable to test things, especially an update this monumentally sweeping, is indeed crazy. And there's no way most of those on Steam that can access the PTB actually do either.

I don't think its a problem at all, I have about 7k hours in the game playing both sides and unlike the survivor mains that shed tears when they get outplayed, I will admit there is TONS of counterplay for them to deal with every issue before this PTB. I would be fine if the slugging mechanic was 120 seconds, as most of the time that's all you need to slow the game down to make it winnable. I definitely agree these changes were to extreme, and they admit in there description that its the right call, and still punish us for it. Behavior has a very "Black and White" version of the issues. This was clearly pandering to a massive side of their playerbase, and this will lead to the death of their game. They will probably need to design bots for killers that disconnect mid match. Im personally going to quit playing if these changes go through, Making me lose because Im actually winning is just nuts.
You want to o better understand why they do what they do, then take what you refer to as "high level play" and put it in a box over there somewheres.
These proposed changes are to deal with the frustrations of most of the players out there, not those with 7k hours at all. They've never based decisions primarily on that mythical high MMR area, and prolly never will. It's attempting to handle with most issues most players face, who have hundreds of hours not thousands.

Console players still can’t access the PTBs, and it’s a bigger issue than ever with these vital gameplay changes. So much feedback gets missed since console players are a big part of the community.
One Reddit user had a great idea (shoutout u/AgentDigits):
"I feel like they need to find a way to create some kind of in-game PTB mode so they can test stuff more regularly and get console users involved too. Some kind of LTM like 2v8 that lasts a week or so to get some quick feedback between major PTBs.
The current way that PTBs work is just terrible. They're too far apart and lots of feedback gets ignored. Plus the majority of players can't even get involved with it as they play on console."
I also agree that PTBs should be used more regularly to get quick feedback between major updates. The devs really need to address this.
It's not just the consoles left out, who are by far the majority of the playerbase, but also Windows and Epic too. Stadia couldn't use it either while that existed.
Both DayZ and Minecraft have separate "Experimental" versions on Xbox, and I imagine the PlayStations have something similar, so it's possible but requires work.

I thought they gave Killers a basekit pop to compensate for Slug/Tunnel change, but then on the other hand they killed all Gen Regression Perks? Like why?
Why are you nerfing killer's best strategy PLUS killer's best build in the SAME PATCH?
Although personally I never bring any slowdown perks (I love chilling), but seriously I don't see killers being playable at high MMR if this goes through…
These changes aren't for that mythical top MMR area, they don't really look there primarily for balancing decisions, never have really. It definitely is coming down hard on both Tunneling and Slugging, which frustrated the largest chunks of players globally.

It is even worse when it comes to people on the PTB. Not only it is Steam only, but even on Steam I think the majority of players does not participate in the PTB. Some dont care, others might not even know that there is a PTB, since not everyone follows the Social Media or is on the Forums. And some might just dont want to bother with downloading the PTB, e.g. I was not on the TWD-PTB because I did not want to download the whole game for the PTB just do download the whole game again for the switch to Live Servers.
And those who are on the PTB sometimes are only on it for an hour or two, which is not enough time to test everything to have reasonable foundation for an opininion IMO. Which is why I am also not a big fan of changes from PTB to Live, since a lot of feedback is based on people not even getting to test the changes or only doing so for one or two hours.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3993420#Comment_3993420
IMO there should be a separate PTB-Client which people can install without having to reinstall the Live game. This would also make it available for console, since it is a separate client. It would also allow to have PTBs frequently to test stuff like they did with the Finisher Mori and the ability to pick yourself up a few years ago, instead of throwing this onto the PTB they can use the Dedicated Test Client for this. Would allow to test things without any chapter ahead, including more frequent tests.
Both DayZ and Minecraft maintain "Experimental" versions on Xbox, and imagine something similar on the PlayStations, so it's possible but requires work.
Back in 2016 the game was only out on Steam, but like a year later it was ported on over to the consoles. So yeah, I've never understood that myself.
I know most of the content creators and all Fog Whisperers are on Steam, and often it feels like the PTB's are more for publicity. But monumental sweeping changes like these imo require ridiculous amounts of testing before going to live matches. And the more eyeballs and trials the better.

Exactly. Things need to be pushed to live to see actual results from them. Even testing it on the PTB is not enough, since PTB has no matchmaking, people screw around more and the playerbase is more limited.
IMO the changes should be live for a month or so and then changes should be made, if any are needed. People need to get used to it first before we can have any valuable feedback.
I agree about seeing how the trials playing out over several weeks to see how these proposed changes work out.
I do wish the PBT was more impactful and wider used. There's no MMR and like you said super limited in who can participate. Neither Windows or Epic can use it, despite bothe being on PC, plus none of the consoles can either, and they make up the vast majority of the playerbase.

Just played this match, maybe my tenth ever as Freddy. It gives me high prestige, skilled, body-blocking TTVers—and I don't even know how to fully use this dude's powers.
I'm not complaining, I won, but like maybe this isn't who I need to start with on a killer I don't know. If it's gonna take like 10 minutes to find a match, could I get a less intense and logical one for my baby status?
Killer MMR is unique to each killer, but not how you'd think. The way it works for is they don't start you off very low, because you know the global basic killer functions. It is lower than those you main but not drastically lower.
So combine that with if queue times are long they most likely grabbed the next available surv group, especially if they've been dodged repeatedly and they also have been waiting. That's what prolly happened to you here.

So those last patch notes are something, if they go live can we reduce hooks from 3 to 2, remove the tbagging ability, and increase generators from 5 to 7? I think that would be a fair trade. Also I'm kinda shitposting here so don't take it to serious. Just some ideas.
Great news! There has always been 7 gens on a map. The survs just needed to do five of them to power the gates.🤪
In all seriousness, should they ever require a sixth or seventh gen to do of course the map will need 8 or 9 in total. With the serious reduction in map size over the years that would create a bunch of more issues. And a couple of automatic 3-gens on each map too.

And you know people played this game for 9 years , i am too spent a lot of time in this game. And i was absolutely in love.
But the thing is , i really loved the open nature of the game . That was the only thing that kept my playing this buggy mass of spagheti code, where the devs cut every corner .But when you try to limit your player base on how they play a really open ended game after 9 years thats bad.
And i feel like these changes affect survivor enjoyers as much as killers. There gonna be other scummy tactics , and they going to be worse . But the thing is not everybody slugs , tunnels , proxy camps. But its really cool to have that option in unfair games against an SWF running styptic best perks etc.
And lastly, my favorite part is you can turn all this mess off in custom game , so the best players the comp players can enjoy the game the way they enjoyed it for 9 YEARS. And when DBD goes for a LAN the whole world gonna see a completely different game. Crazy
D'awwwww. Was called beautiful today! 😍 😎

I agree. Many of the vets are guilty of what I see many accuse the devs of, which is lost connection to the average trial.
Most of the recent changes are directly with that average player experience in mind, as well as the newbies. They put together a list of frustrations encountered by the vast majority of players and are going through that.
They've never really looked at that mythical high MMR area for balancing decisions, and are doing even less so now. The focus is on that central 85%-ish mass of casuals that play the game a few hours at a time a couple of days a week, what they're dealing with on average. Which is the most common way this game is played.

- 2. Retain Lobbies w/ Friends and move between game modes like 2v8, 1v4, custom games, etc..
- 3. Ability to add a Killer Bot into Custom Games and choose Bot Difficulties.
Game Play Viewer
- Ideally to start it could be locally stored as something you could personally view. If its worth it to players and to behavior it could switch to a better system. Allowing players to upload there match that other players can view. Uploads could have a limited amount and wipe every update while locally stored games are simply based on players storage.
Retained Lobbies
- Simply put as you swap between game modes so long as your lobby size is applicable to the lobby you want to play in you can join it with your team size. I think this would boost people trying other game modes as well if they didn't have to recreate their lobby just to check something out. It would also make it nice if after a few survivor matches you wanted to swap to customs real quick to test something then go back to survivor after.
Custom Game Bots
- Simply put.. why don't we have killer bot support even if its simply "Trapper" it would be nice if we could get into a Custom Game to test out perks and map generations but we would always need a 2nd player or a 2nd device with the game to do this and that really doesn't make sense. At the very least allow us to start a match with no killer.
From what I remember, a match replay system is something they said would have had to been coded in back in 2016 and it's pretty much impossible now to addi it in.
