BEFORE YOU READ: Yes, I am aware killer entitlement is just as bad. This is just a bad encounter I had with survivors tonight and it seems to be happening a lot in my postmatch chat.
I was playing Huntress on Coal Tower. It was a pretty easy game, I 4k'd and there was a streamer in my match. I thought I'd stop by his stream and say GG, but before I could even do that, he starts absolutely flaming me in the chat. Calls me a tunneler, camper, slugger, calls me bad at the game, and some other names. He then accuses me of stream sniping his friend, which I have no idea how I would stream snipe her because she didn't have TTV in her name. I didn't check his stream before the match started because I don't really care, streamer or not it doesn't make a difference to me. I will admit, I slugged a lot in the match. It was not like I was trying to 4 man slug. The survivors would literally crowd in corners and try to 3 man heal, ######### am I supposed to do? Especially as Huntress, it's so easy to snowball and pressure survivors when there are multiple of them grouped up. They were practically handing themselves to me and it was a good situation to slug. He kept calling me bad names, saying things like "you have 2,000 hours in the game and this is how you play?" when he had a similar amount of hours. I genuinely don't think I did anything wrong. I really think this guy and his friends were upset that they lost so they decided to take it out on me and it's honestly really frustrating. I don't expect to win every game as the killer, so why do some survivors expect to escape every game? It's literally not possible to do that. Just because a match doesn't go exactly how you want it to does not give you the excuse to be toxic to the opponent.

I’m think more ritualistic but in a mythological sense and less demonic worship. So like ritual drums and a like a shrill choir maybe some type of Babylonian wind instrument. Idk, but it will probably feel like you’re being chased through a large and grand temple with a lot of dark music.
I think it will sound something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyk4a8tq31E This the best one i found, Mr Envy made one too but i like this one better

I wonder how plague's chase music will be

The reason people want more meta perks is so that people are able to run other perks. What happens when you have options that are naturally better than others is that people will choose them, leading to bland and repetitive gameplay. After all, perks are meant to be fun and interactive.
I run aftercare repressed alliance calm spirit and inner strength every match and they're honestly fun & strong perks

Doing gens should be easy enough to be aware what's going on around. If repairing was exciting on it's own, survivors would get into trouble more often.
thats the point tho

You wanna turn a game about survivors being chased by a killer into Dance Dance Revolution?
This K-pop chapter really was a mistake look at what it did to players.
I mean- it wont have music obviously-

Or maybe because vast majority of perks are not good enough.
Wdym?
Bond empathy alert aftercare repressed alliance inner strength autodidact lithe balanced landing smash hit etc. Are all good and they should be META i've tried all meta perks and only adrenaline & BT deserve the meta spot Unbreakable too but it's situational
-
Honestly META perks are META because a bunch of popular youtubers/streamers used them If they say this perk is really good everyone starts using them, And if they say that perk is bad everyone STOPS using them I hate that tbh

Deerstalker and Bloodhound should be combined and be made basekit.
There is no reason in lore why the entity should NOT enable the killers to see bloodtrails better and spot downed survivors.
maybe not have it if a survivor is on the ground for two min (haven't you bleed out by then?) but maybe have it similar to Premonition that you get an audiocue if you look in their general direction or something? or have the aura pop up just briefly and then have a cooldown? and the popup gets longer the more time passes?
This could be combined with an auto-unbreakable for survivors, like, if the killer slugs and ignore survivors for a certain time (including picking them up and dropping them to mock them and to potentially trick such timer) the entity picks the survivor up and places them at the exit gate furthest from the killer.
Deerstalker, Yes
Bloodhound, No

So as we all know, doing gens is kinda boring. It's basically pressing a button for 80 seconds while occasionally pressing skill checks. Ironically, getting frightened by a stealth killer is the most exciting thing about fixing gens. This conception is one of the main reasons why gen regression cannot be buffed, because having to fix one all over again is bOrInG. It's also the reason why survivors ignore their objectives and just throw themselves at the killer, hoping for a chase.
Now I remember some time ago about suggestion to make skill checks more engaging which also make doing gens more engaging which leads me to this idea. You know how rhythm games are basically just lots of skill checks arranged into a song? What if there's an option to toggle the skill checks in the menu and make it so skill checks can be arranged into songs? Basically you get to arrange when and where the skill checks appear and how many of them will appear as well as what note they play upon hitting it.
The only benefit would be a separate category for BP gained from extra skill checks due to only some random amount of the skill checks granting extra progression (Missing any still makes a loud noise notification so you can play a song forever with Technician). It might distract you from the killer but let's be honest, would you rather be pressing a button for 80 seconds while a loud killer like Clown hobbles slowly towards you or would you rather play Through the Fire and the Flames on your generator?
How would they work tho?
-
Chile...This is BS or you're VERY new to the game

Honestly Poised is a perk that nobody even talks about, it seems very useless if your not in the right area at the correct time, if your in a chase it could help but it’s very situational. I think this perk is in need of a buff.
Poised Right Now: You leave no scratch marks for 6/8/10 seconds after a generator is completed.
Buff Poised: You leave No Grunts of Pain, Pools Of Blood, and No Scratch Marks, and footsteps sounds are decreased by 100% for 6/8/10 seconds after a generator is completed, when the perk is activate you gain a 5/6/7% Haste status effect.
The buff is good, I think poised shouldn't trigger when you're down/on the killer's shoulder/hooked
-
Weakest: Trickster
Strongest: Nurse obviously
-
I play both sides and i think NOED dead hard and iron will NEED a nerf tbh
And for buffs monstrous shrine and no one left behind and calm spirit

All he needs is to start with and be able to carry 3 traps at base and to have all traps spawn closer to the center. Maybe a bit more consistency with the amounts of trap spawns on each map. Maybe slightly faster trap setting speed?
I wouldn't mind if he'd start with all his traps, but that could be miserable for the first person he hooks. He's not A-tier right now, but if they buff him too much he will be miserable to go against.
I was going to say that lol

but....is it a waste of time when you are preventing NoeD from whiping out the entire team? again, its your choice if you want to run the risk but dont blame the perk for your choice.
Yes it is butthe killer might not have the perk at All we wont know until it is revealed to us then i look at the killer's perks and find out he doesnt have NOED AND the 3 other survivors begin yelling at me for being useless So it's a gamble ngl

@BioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124118#Comment_2124118
Again, the whole argument so far is that NoeD rewards bad killers, if you cannot look for the totems in the obvious spots before the killer has 7 to 8 hooks then perhaps the killer was not bad at all? that is exactly my point.
Also playing solo, might I suggest Detective's hunch? pretty easy to find totems that way and determine if the team has done any of them already.....
I meant wasting my time on cleansing totems while i could be saving my teammates or on gens That's why the killer has 7 or 8 hooks Because it's literally a 1v3
-
@BioX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124103#Comment_2124103
I will repeat myself again, NoeD currently ONLY rewards good killers, because good killers DO pressure gens hence the survivors barely have time/lives left to do them and they certainly dont have time to do totems.
So they are pretty much screwed, nobody is denying that NoeD is powerful.
If the killer is bad then survivors have all the time in the world to find and cleance the totems, if they choose not to, its on them.
Dead Hard for perspective rewards bad survivors but it REALLY rewards good survivors, in the hand of a good survivor its extremely hard to deal with and will cost you often twice as long to down someone,
Let's just go and search the WHOLE map to find totems and waste my time on breaking them While the killer has 7 or 8 hooks by now and we're on 4 gens :)
NOED can be countered by SWFs but in solo Yeah no

Hello, everyone! So I started playing this game around two months ago, mainly sticking to survivor but have played some killer, and while exploring DBD content I see people say stuff like "oh this map is terrible for [killer]" or "this map is so survivor sided" and those terms have confused me. My question is, what do those particularly mean? Are some maps not best suited to some killers or?
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I felt like I needed to ask. Thanks again!
It means like this map is really good for killer and the same goes for survivor Like take haddonfield for example it's a good map for survivors
Hope this helped And level up feng & cannibal first they have good perks and the cannibal has a really good & easy power

Ah yes, let's just crush 5 totems which takes 14 seconds to do for each one instead of doing generators. The killer probably got 6 hooks by now and we're only at 3 gens, let's cleanse totems anyways! Who knows, they probably don't even have NOED and we're doing all of this for nothing.
That's what i've been saying "Just do bones" Is literally "Just pressure gens" but for survivors lmao
NOED should reward killers who have gotten hooks by getting tokens and when you down a survivor in the endgame a token is consumed and all survivors are exposed and the more you down survivors your tokens are going to be lost 1 by 1
That way the perk would reward good killers
-
@Yords said:
On top of what it already does:
- Reveals your aura to all other survivors as long as the perk is active
I think it would help you get more use out of it since any other injured teammate would see you and know that you could patch them up quickly. It isn't anything crazy either and only helps solo queue players more.
It's already a strong and good perk No need for a buff
-
As killer: As soon as i get into a chase the survivor has to find a pallet
As Survivor: I never find anything when i get chased

Really....Totems ARNT objectives....? Ok then. You deserve to get NOED with that sort of thinking.
Yes they aren't...They're SIDE objectives the objective is to SURVIVE as a SURVIVOR and escape the trial Will opening chests let me escape? Nope cleansing totems will help me escape? Nope, Totems aren't THE objective lmao

Rewards killers for failing at their job....meaning survivors are punished for doing well...? Please tell me you're kidding. Are the survivors really doing that well if they didn't clear the totems...?
Killers are supposed to kill the survivors while the survivors have to do gens Totems aren't objectives they're there because of hex perks
And yes the survivors are doing well because they're doing gens
-
Same lol

Both roles are ######### tbh

Thought thisd be interesting to do again. So its a normal match doing your normal stuff as a survivor 3 people have been unhooked and you don't think anything of it till BAM your instadowned in chase by devour hope. Normally when i get hit by devour its like "ohhhh ######### here we go!" Devour makes the match pretty fun for me. Its the earned middlegame noed.
"Oh no we HAVE to find the totem"
It's a well-earned NOED the killer deserves it because they worked for it

Are there examples of current killers that weren't killing or torturing people before the entity grabbed them?
Yes, Charlotte spirit plague and blight
Charlotte just kept running away
Spirit legit did nothing she came back home and her father killed her and her mother and she was taken by the entity
Plague only killed animals Not human beings she literally cut her toes to serve the entity
Blight was forced to experiment on people and they died

Hold your pitch forks and torches for a second and let me explain. (But you won't. I know who rules these forums.)
With the "bug" of having Breakdown destroy hooks for the remainder of the match, I personally think we should work with that. Make it so that Breakdown only activates once per match. But make the hooks stay gone.
Ever since the devs added extra hooks to try and combat old Saboteur, they never reverted the change even after Saboteur was nerfed into what we have today. There's an absurd amount of hooks in the maps. And the hook offerings are useless to both sides and make no visible difference. Hooks will always spawn within 20ft or less of each other.
With this change, at MOST, only 4 hooks can be destroyed per match. That's more than easy to deal with.
No one used Breakdown before (unless going for adept) because it wasn't worth using. This change won't make it meta, but I'm sure it will at least get more use.
Unused perks on both sides need changes to actually incite people to use them. This could be a step in the right direction.
I have a better buff to it:
Breakdown: Each time you're unhooked or unhook yourself the Hook breaks and the killer's aura is revealed to you for 4/5/6 seconds
And each time you unhook another survivor the hook breaks for 100 seconds

I do believe the Resident Evil Chapter will have 2 killers, 2 survivors, and a map. I think the survivors will be Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Here is why I think that. Mathieu in that trailer directly quotes Claire Redfield. Kill or be killed. Its your call. That's a Claire quote. Now for Leon, when you see the Umbrella charm hit the ground you see clovers. If you remember Leon gets a clover key in Resident Evil 2. Now for maps, I don't think the teaser has ANYTHING to do with the map but I'm gonna make some predictions anyways. Its either the Mansion or the RPD. I think its the RPD because all this is pointing to a full blown RE2 chapter so why not. I think the killers will be THE TYRANT/Mr. X and THE MUTATION/William Birkin. Here is why I think these are the killers. Remember how the 4 stood for Pyramid Head last year? It says DBD X RE at the end. I'm not saying that's exactly trying to hint towards him but we can't rule it out. As for Birkin we see the 4 leaf clovers which is a mutation and Birkin has a lot more to do with relationships than most monsters in RE. Also when the camera closes it closes in the way an eye does and we all know Birkin's relationship with eyes. And we hear zombies. Birkin has a very close relationship with the monsters and stuff since he created the virus'. It would be cool if there are NPC zombies when you play as him. Yet again another instance of a licensed character being the one to bring an entirely new mechanic.
I want chris or leon tbh i want a male survivor And i hope it's not 2 survivors Because we've got a lot of survivors already 2 killers would balance it out
