  • I really do hope that BHVR does give both sides an equal area of footing if they do tweak perks. Ive seen a lot of people complain about Dead Hard and Eruption, so I hope both are looked at and treated equally (I just really dont want to see the forums blow up with community discourse).

Of course, Ive just given up and accepted both perks in normal gameplay, but Id like to see how the community handles it. But it's nice to hear that BHVR hears what we are saying.

  • Honestly, if this includes Survivors:

Ivy XO (Crossout) - Nea Legendary Skin

Teshin (Warframe) - Knight/Oni Legendary Skin

Biotech Morlin (Spiral Knights) - Vittorio Legendary Skin

While not a specific character, I think it would be neat to have Crimson Armor and Night's Edge (Terraria) - Knight Legendary Skin

And even though I know it definitely WILL NOT fit, I do want to see Niko from One Shot in DBD since One Shot is an adorable game that I love.

Either the one you want at P100, or the one you have at P100.

For me...Ghostface isn't a bad idea, as he has one great iri, some good purps and is also really fun despite his constantly boiling jank.

Sadako is a few tweaks away from being that too.

If Hag had more universally good iris, ditto Artist, they'd be shoe-ins.

Currently though - Dredge. Him and Wesker are just fantastic killers. But everyone's going to say Wesker.

So probably Dredge, but if she got a few buffs (Otz made perfect suggestions) and some tweaks to her obnoxious Condemn build, Sadako would definitely ne in the running.

On my PS4 account. I split my prestige between Nea, Jeff; Billy, Demo.

On my PC account... I havent really started it yet Im still trying to get perks lol.

  • I disagree.

  • To be honest, I never really saw many people play her to begin with ever since they changed MMR awhile back.

Ive mostly been seeing Knights recently, because of the new Tome, but every match just results in them camping a 3-gen at the start of the match with Call of Brine, Eruption, and Overcharge, resulting in a 4K after a 30-40 minute match.

  • image_2023-01-26_151100297.png

On like the first day of the update, it was +100% for Killer, but it quickly swapped back over to Survivor.

Also keep in mind that it is based on your region, time of day, etc; so what you see might not be what other people see, but I do find it interesting nonetheless.

  • I seriously dont get how they can butcher Hillbilly and barely scratch the surface with Nurse.

The worst part is that Billy there were only 2-3 problematic addons that just needed to be nerfed or reworked, but instead they just kind of ruined him.

I still love to play him but damn does it feel bad sometimes.

Thought so too at first, but his MO is more fitting for Trickster. Slinger and Billy would require entirely new MOs and pretty much turn them into complete new killers by contrast

I mean Billy would just be replacing their chainsaw with his hammer but it would require new animations, and Slinger can fundamentally work the same considering how Heisenberg has made weaponry before and could easily just use a spear-gun he made.

But I must remind you, they are legendary skins for a reason, they are suppose to fundamentally change a huge portion of the character, and the Hunk + Birkin cosmetics do change animations.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

... Can we ask for Lady Demitrescu for Artist, and Heisenberg for Trickster?

Lady D for Artists would make the most sense due to already similar weapons/design, and the Birdheads could be replaced with her daughters and bugs/flies

Heisenberg would make most sense for Trickster, both due the hammer as weapon and the ability to fling (small) metal objects at survivors. with him the biggest animation change would probably be the ability one changing from holding knives to hovering shrapnels?

Dunno who the other Lords would fit with, but these two would very much work

I feel like Heisenberg would be more along the lines of Deathslinger or Hillbilly considering how both Killers revolves around having some mechanical know-how.

I don’t know if im reading too much into this, but now that Solo Q got a buff to be more up to par with SWF, does this mean BHVR has plans to buff killers in general in some way? Or they can now work on certain killers that need help (trapper, pig, clown, etc)

    What do y’all think?

BHVR will probably just take the bandaid route and buff a whole bunch of perks to make them borderline, if not insanely, oppressive against average Survivors.

Not hate towards them, but their balance decisions are questionable at worst and often never solve the core of the issues.

  • I think it is based off of your PS4's System Language, I could be wrong though.

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

    You can't fix inefficient players

I mean, at least I can know what teammates are and arent active playing the game. So I guess it's a positive.

  • He's balanced, however I would say my main issue with him is how buggy he is. There are many times where you just get grabbed through a pallet or vault when it should be a normally hit, so often you just lose out on distance because of it.

If they fixed that one issue with him, he would definitely be a 9.8/10 for me.

  • Jolt is not based on the Terror Radius, it has a 32-meter range regardless of Terror Radius.

Tier 2 Myers has a Terror Radius of 16-meters.

It's a second chance perk for killer same as Adrenaline / UB / DH for survivors,,,and a much weaker for that matter,,perk is fine as it is,,if you happen to have a hooked person near the totem it is what it is,,take the L and move on

    Screenshot (309).png

I would like to just point out some things.

I never used those perks that match, the original image is cropped a bit so you cant really see it, in fact I stopped using Dead Hard 1-2 months after it's rework because I felt like I crutched too hard on it to last long in chase, so I moved to using Balanced Landing and Iron Will for chases. Also my team never had any of the perks you listed either, so saying "well you guys have this so I think it is fair" (or at least that is my assumption and interpretation, Im sorry if it is wrong) just does not really fit the situation.

Ive been on the forums for a long time. I was a Survivor main, then a Killer main, now I consider myself neither. Ive moved to playing both sides evenly since I want the best overall experience for both sides. Both sides have unfair and uncounterable situations, and I really want to see them removed because it just overall contributes to the game not being fun for players (Killers and Survivors). I really just care about this game succeeding and being fun for everyone, even though I really know you cant please both sides sometimes.

Idk. I also dont care about losing. If I cared about losing/winning, I would hard tunnel every Survivor at 5 Generators with meta perks but you always see me making posts about unique builds and having fun. If I cared about losing/winning, I wouldnt be using Visionary, Pebble, and Hope in the screenshot above, nor would I do perk roulette with friends, nor run No Mither. Again, winning/losing never matters to me, I just care about fun, for everyone, and talking about the flaws of the game that might need to be looked at (for Killer and Survivor).

  • @ThirdHealthEstate said:

You can just Get Out no?

Why make the game longer for no reason then complain on the forums that the Killers slugs you to secure a 4K?

Is it not "boring" having to rescue that last Survivor all the time instead of just leaving?

What does "complain on the forums that the Killers slugs you to secure a 4K" have do with anything?

Im fine with people slugging for the 4K, it's not like I really care since people can play how they want. Hell, I even stated that Im fine with the Ghostface camping here since it makes sense, all the gens are done and the Totem is right there, it is the smartest play.

Also "boring" comes with subjectivity, you might find things boring, I might not. Personally I find it boring to sit in front of a hook all game until a Survivor is dead, but others find it fun or interesting, so I dont judge them for their own opinion.

The thing is, I am able to dissociate the game from the player, which is why Im not even mad at the player itself. However it still lets me point out an obvious flaw with the perk since the perk and the player are two completely different things.

  • When you make the game more balanced for both sides, it starts to remove the fun a bit. But if you make the game fun, you start to remove the balance a bit. Etc.

Balance can be nice but it's better to make the game enjoyable for everyone than it is to make the game super competitive. I mean, look at VHS, it was designed to be balanced and highly competitive yet it died off pretty early on with most people I know finding it too stressful to play from how competitive it is. MMR just does not fit in DBD in my opinion, the rank system was flawed, but it made matches much more relaxing and less stressful as a result, nobody took ranks seriously.

Sometimes stuff like this can also be attributed to burnout. Sometimes you need to take a break from the game, because playing it over and over feels boring; but people need to realize that they will never have that burning passion for the game that they had years ago as a result.

I think we may be talking about something different, considering what I'm referring to is the first part of this clip:

    https://youtu.be/fVTmVDkUJRg

Idk how you could trick a Survivor into vaulting into you up there lol

No, I mean I chased them, they ran up there, and I mindgamed them into vaulting down into me. Sorry for the poor wording, but yea, I know it's that window, Ive seen people use it many times.

  • @Shroompy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3326587#Comment_3326587

No, I know this since I used to do a lot of sky billy stuff. The gallows had 2 spots and they were both patched roughly around the time Sadako or Dredge came out I believe. And I specifically remember trying to go for it after Wesker came out since bugs like that some times revert themselves (Space Billy being one of those bugs) and was pretty disappointed when I learned I couldn't even get on the railing anymore.

Yea but literally last night, before the update, I chased a Survivor up the top of Gallows and mindgamed them into vaulting straight into me.

It could be bugged where it doesnt consistently spawn or something, but it definitely isnt always not there. Kind of like that one PTB that had bugged windows where they either never spawned or always spawned on Yamaoka Estate.

  • @Shroompy said:

Its been gone for quite some time actually

I don’t really think the aura should be removed, that alone made it feel a lot more fair and noed is not nearly as frustrating to face as it used to be imo. Prior to the nerf I refused to use noed at all on principle, now I don’t. But I agree this situation where the totem is near a hooked survivor is lame since there’s not really anything you can do.

Forcing the hex to move to a different totem is a decent idea in theory but it’d raise the question of what to do if there is no other dull totem available at that moment. You could just say it deactivates in that case but that doesn’t feel right to me.

Rekindled Totems exist through Hex: Pentimento, BHVR can always make it a Rekindled Totem if no other Hex Totem locations are available, forcing it to take the location of the Hex/Dull Totem that was last cleansed by a Survivor.

    @FMG15 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/362143/no-one-escapes-death

The current version of NOED made it a less attractive for killers. Nowadays I barely even see that perk and if they have it it gets cleansed in no time. That totem spawn was unfortunate but you know: High risk high reward. Sometimes the totem gets instantly spotted and cleansed sometimes the killer hooks the survivor where the NOED totem is.

I would love to see a change though. I have an idea that is more fitting to it's name IMO:

    -Remove the expose status effect

-Increase haste to 7% (hope counter)

-When the last gen pops NOED activates. Survivors don't get the aura of the exit gates shown. The exit gates open 20% slower. All survivors suffer from the blindness and oblivios status effect.

-All effects are gone if NOED gets cleansed or no totems are available

This might sound too strong but it would be much more fitting. It would create pressure and would give the survivors a feeling of hopelessness. And the feeling that no one can escapes death.

I actually kind of like that, it fits the name a lot more since it literally tries to prevent the actual escaping to begin with. However if Survivors do not get Aura Reading on the Exit Gates then the Blindness debuff should be removed, Blindness feels a bit overkill since it shafts team Aura Reading for SoloQ.

  • Honestly, making Survivors work for it does not seem like that bad of an idea, David's other perks activate upon Protection Hits and Unhooks, so it could help enforce that. It's not like I would mind anyways since Im pretty Altruistic anyways.

But I feel like it would unfortunately make David's Adept even more difficult than before.

  • Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance is a popular perk currently. Survivors often let go of Generators last second to avoid getting hit by it, but sometimes you get a Skill Check and blow up the Generator, which could have happened to multiple Generators being worked on... that is the only way I see it as being possible.

  • They fixed this but completely left Twins broken and unplayable. They are literally going to make the whole 2 Twins mains that exist quit the game at this rate.

  • @TigerSnake said:

Is that the only one they’ve added? Ffs. Eyrie rework has definitely been a massive failure.

    Screenshot (309).png

They also added this God Pallet to the map... it even chains directly to main... truly an awful rework to add something this strong, poor Killer Mains are going to be against the ropes after this, theyll see nothing but Eyrie Offerings until this gets nerfed.

In all seriousness though, this pallet is literally the worst pallet in the game, even worse than that one Autohaven Tileset everyone complains about since you can even use the distance from the pallet stun to reach anywhere.

  • I think it's less of favoritism due to race but moreso just with the popularity of the characters.

Feng Min got a lot of cosmetics recently, and will continue to get a lot more, but it's because she is a popular character. Same with Nea and all the 4 original characters (since they are poster children for DBD).

I do wish other characters got more cosmetics, Haddie has really been shafted, so it is a sentiment I can agree with, but it has nothing to do with race.

I dont know why, but this feels like an AI Generated Forum Post...

  • @NerfedFreddy said:

Why can't survivors see gens auras? It you answer that question you figure out the answer to your question as well

At least you can use perks to do that. Killer cannot use perks to keep track of the amount of hooks. Huge difference.

(Also, Generator Auras would increase Generator/Objective Efficiency... Seeing the Hook States of Survivors would only benefit people that are actively not playing for Objective Efficiency.)

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Yeah it would be nice to have the hook count. Would prevent people using exact same outfits to bamboozle you.

And I personally would use it to actively avoid tunneling people. Couple of times I've intended to let a surv go and accidentally sacrificed them because they had one more hook than I thought 🥲

It's also annoying if their teammates leave them on hook, they reach second Hook Stage, and I hook them again only to realize they are dead. Happens so often and I feel bad every time.

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

There is a difference between "oh this killer is stronger than that, but that killer is also viable and I can have a great time playing it" and "this killer is viable and that one isn't, so if I choose that one I will have a miserable time against decent survivors". I don't want Myers to be 1=1 Nurse, but I want it to be able to at least win against high mid tier SWFs.

Yes but it isnt going to change the fact that people will play the strongest Killers because they are the strongest. (Almost) everyone wants the best chances of winning, it's why we have a meta in the first place, nothing will change about people using Nurse, Blight, and Spirit every game if either they arent nerfed or/and other Killers are heavily buffed. But in my opinion something like this will never really happen, look at how Billy got gutted all those years ago compared to Nurse's nerf, it's a prime example.

Which overall has lead to this issue where some players deal with these Killers over and over, there are a number of different solutions but if someone cares about winning, they probably dont care about BP because they only run meta, so you got to tackle things from the sources. I dont think there is a "perfect way" of dealing with this as an unfortunate byproduct, but there are definitely better solutions than what Ive seen people suggest, or hell, than what I even suggested.

I cant say for myself that I have had to deal with the same Killers over and over, but some Regions have more competitive players than others (EU and Asia/Oceanic most notably), and time of day is also important as well, so it could be more common than I give it credit for, or even less common, who knows.

  • @RainehDaze said:

It'd break down every time there's a new Killer released or a big update to one of them. Everyone that wants to see what the new thing is like would get caught in matchmaking hell.

That is one downside, but to be fair PTBs and Chapter Releases are already Matchmaking Hell.

When Knight released I had to wait 2+ hours in my Region to find a match, it was painful.

  • @HugTheHag said:

    Buffing weaker killers aside...

Matchmaking incentives worked really well. How about incentives to play lesser-played killers ?

(Absolutely not a ploy to get more points as a Hag main, what are you talking about !)

That is another solution I thought about however Im not sure how BHVR would distribute BP Bonuses from that with Matchmaking Incentives. I mean it would heavily reduce the grind but part of me feels like BHVR would shaft MMI in the process, so I was afraid to put it.

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

How about, you know, making killers other than Nurse, Blight and Artist viable so they can be used more often at high MMR?

That is another solution but you can never really buff certain Killers to be a 1 to 1 in strength, I feel like people often for forget that. Also I just wanted to point out how dumb the "blacklist" idea is and how there could be a better system that doesnt shaft certain Killers.

  • It's a "Catch 22" isnt it?

DBD has server issues that can be used to DOX and DDOS players, and BHVR said to protect yourself with a VPN but refuses to do anything about it. So people use VPNs and get hate for trying to protect themselves. Tsk Tsk.

  • Me getting 10 hour long queues as Nurse but instant matches as Trapper because of this awful idea affecting matchmaking.

  • @Snowflake_Syndrome said:

Is Merciless Storm still good if Ruin gets cleansed in the first minute of the match?

Again, Ive stated this before in another reply, there is another perk slot open for a reason, which allows you to be a bit flexible with the build and change it whenever you feel it is necessary to do so. Hex: Ruin, in of itself, can even be replaced, however I find the passive and natural slowdown of Hex: Ruin to be quite decent, even after it's nerf.

  • A streamer I have faced multiple times in public matches (that has a really positive attitude towards the game) is Swanzo. They stream on YT and Twitch, and they play both sides.

(Ironically, I literally just had a match again them, but they are a joy to watch and play against in my opinion. <3 )

  • Okay, but like, what would be the point in running it? You still have to break the pallet anyways, and if it's a short loop, Enduring would still be a good alternative and most people would run it over that regardless. Your idea would not really accomplish anything in my opinion since there are many perks (and perk combinations) that are just overall better.

(Plus preventing a stun would probably not give the Survivor the Bloodpoint Score for a Pallet Stun, which is even more lame in my opinion.)

  • @Mew said:

its a good thing, theyre just free event cosmetics it doesnt really matter. plus that feeling of joining something late and not being able to get a limited cosmetic sucks.

but, it also just sucks that theres no other reward if you already have all the cosmetics? like they couldve just given out a certain amount of shards per code if you already had them in your inventory.

I mean the cosmetics they are releasing are just a lead-up to the actual event which is on the 24th.

Also Im kind of just hoping they re-release that Year of the Rat Nea shirt since it's one of the few things Im missing from the Lunar New Year event.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/361596/the-most-underrated-slowdown-perk-in-dbd

    Ehh...nnnn...(other non-committal noises)...it's okay.

    The problems are:

    • It only triggers once
    • For a perk that only triggers once, even failing it isn't that bad.
    • Unless you've got something to interfere with skill checks, it can be a completely wasted slot.

I'll run it on Doctor, who's probably the best candidate (it will go off 4x a match at least) and even then it doesn't really do that much.

Ive gotten a lot of Generator Grabs from this build. But another thing is that it can really work later in the match, as even though it procs once per match, Survivors are constantly stressed over Skill Checks and the potential of me coming over that it can by a lot of time. And when applying general pressure to Survivors, it can completely turn the game around and has won me MANY matches as a result.

Is it meta? Hell no, the meta is well, meta, for a reason. This is just an alternative build (and playstyle) for people wanting to try something new, considering how stale the game has been lately. As well as focusing on the fact that DBD does not have many "bad perks" like people claim there are, anything can work in DBD if you experiment enough and use some creativity.

  • I mean it's not really reportable. But there are a few reasons why I dont mind it:

    • The Killer gets Bloodpoints in the Hunter's Category since they found a Survivor, so if you dont have it maxed out yet, it can be helpful.
    • If I couldnt find the Hatch myself, Id like to see where it is. I just like to see where it spawns.
  • I honestly dont see Potential Energy that much, and even if, Potential Energy requires awful Generator efficiency for it to pull off, thus providing more stall just to counter the effect, which is fine by me.

I typically use my 4th perk slot for SH: Floods of Rage/BBQ which can help with knowing what areas to pressure, if I notice that someone counters my perks, I am more likely to adapt my playstyle to adjust for it since I have the information (and game sense) needed to deal with it.

    @Mazoobi said:

Interesting, but what happens if the tinkerer triggers and you're already near the generator? Let them reach the Merciless 90% and get it blocked or force them off early before they reach the 90% but lose the tinkerer value for that gen so it won't snitch when the survivors come back.

Not sure I'd sacrifice that many perk slots for a specific gimmick when Eruption + CoB is so much more efficient but boring as hell to play against... looking at Eruption.

As I stated before, it can require playing around the build, but you do sometimes have situations where Tinkerer activates when you are near a Generator, in which case Survivors will often leave the Generator to avoid a potential hit. Hex: Ruin can provide value in that instance but it will definitely require more game sense if you want Generator pressure on the same Generator again.

And since I mentioned the 4th perk slot being empty, you can also run stealth perks (or even use a stealth Killer) to increase the uptime of Undetectable to reduce the likelihood of such situations if you feel it is necessary, the build is really lose and can be altered according.

And I understand this isnt the strongest build in the world, but can definitely work in the right hands, and there are definitely more reliable builds (there is a meta for a reason afterall) but variety is the spicy of life, having options is always a good thing. Some people will like the build, some people will hate the build, but at least it is there for anyone to try. I kind of like to remind people that you can make things work in DBD if you are creative (or skilled) enough.

Why should "Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT" not be reported? Have you got any idea how often this occurs? Just straight up denying me my earned points?

Yeah not survivor sided at all...

    • Perks in survivor's favor (top 10 strongest perks do not feature killer perks)
    • Maps in survivor's favor (do I even need to explain this? the stupid amount of mist, the insane amount of loops, vaults, pallets, etc etc etc)
    • Game mechanics in survivor's favor (multiple free escapes, body blocking still not fixed, flashbangs/flashlight outpowering any killer ability)
    • Hits are in survivor's favor (as stabbing someone is far slower than pulling down a pallet for reasons that I assume to boil down to survivor's whined about killers killing)
    • Code of Conduct in survivor's favor (this nonsense I just quoted)

So coddled. When will killer's get some actual love? One would almost think you don't want killers to actually play... Ridiculous... Survivor's are toxic af and BHVR is enabling them every step of the way.

Because DCing is automatically handled with a matchmaking ban, so reporting it would fundamentally be useless since the game already handles DCing, it would waste the time of BHVR's moderation team.

Also where the hell did the rest of that post come from, if you want to whing about the state of the game, go to another post or make a post yourself, this isnt the place; could possible even make a Feedback and Suggestions Post with constructive criticism towards such if you do not like the direction the game is going.

What do you mean didn't time it properly? They blinded me completely, I retained hold of the survivor on my shoulder. This doesn't happen when they get a full blind.

There is a certain time in the animation where if you blind the Killer, they drop the Survivor. If you get it too early then it doesnt count since the Survivor is not seen as being carried by the Killer yet. If you get it too late, the Killer could just look away. So you have to get the timing just right.

Keep in mind, that Latency is a thing when this happens. Sometimes you might get blinded but it's too early on the Survivor's end, but it does not look too early due to Latency. There are of course bugs and issues that can happen with blinding which is why I always recommend checking the Forum's Bug and Reporting Section to see if anyone has a made a post/report regarding such.

  • Nope, people started to use it more and people kept getting more and more annoyed by it. There were videos about it, but honestly I dont think those are what caused it to blow up in popularity.

Hens' video did increase the usage a bit, as well as increase the amount of people camping 3-gens from the start of the match.

But I think everyone (for both sides) is just really annoyed with the meta, playing Killer is boring and playing Survivor is boring. No one is really enjoying themselves it seems.

  • @Tsulan said:

  • @bunnyfengenthusiast said:

You are part of the problem. Both are incredibly problematic. Complaining that the killer is using Eruption when you're running full meta perks with DH as your selected exhaustion perk is incredibly hypocritical.

    image_2023-01-17_134205440.png

Just a question, what about people that dont run meta? I just want to have some fun in my matches and it can feel really daunting to deal with meta perks, but the same goes for both sides, Killer and Survivor.

But I feel like complaining about Eruption is still perfectly fine regardless of what you run, because it highlights an issue with the developers being unable to recognize how a perks design only widens the gap between SoloQ and SWF. Eruption is entirely useless against a SWF, but destroys SoloQ lobbies; which makes it a poorly designed perk since it does not have an effective middle ground for both groups. BHVR needs to recognize this.

Not saying that DH isnt problematic, nor that it is, since people can have their own opinion on it, Ill keep my opinion to myself because it is beyond the point I am trying to make. But I think "you cant complain about this because of that existing" further fuels the community divide and doesnt progress this game in any way, shape, or form; there are better ways to go about things.
