It's impossible to avoid this though. Nearly any change you do is going to effect solo queue more, so it feels like trying to balance around that so heavily is a waste of time.
I disagree, a majority of the community plays SoloQ so it does have a huge impact and isnt a waste of time.
Whenever BHVR nerfs Survivors, they nerf both SWF and SoloQ, the main problematic area is how they go about it since some things affect one group more than the other. Some designs are obvious, look at Eruption, it barely impacted SWFs but destroyed SoloQ players.
I think there is a way BHVR can nerf healing without being extremely oppressive. The medkit/self-heal nerfs were a good start, SWFs could use coordination to basically reset the match and have a lead on the Killer in certain situations, but nerfing altruism is something that should never happen.

What's wrong with requiring healing perks?
It's not about "just requiring healing perks", it's the fact that SoloQ is specifically going to need them. SWF (especially top tier SWFs) wont be affected as much since they can coordinate and make sure they always have someone healthy to make unhooks/trades while others heals. SoloQ lacks that, even after the HUD changes.
This is ignoring the fact that SWF can remove weak links to begin with, getting hits (and gaining pressure) can be difficult for the Killer who is facing a SWF, which will overall just lead to less situations where trades are even needed for an unhook to occur. This change is negatively impactful to SoloQ since they (as you might expect) have a variety of skill levels that are seemingly random.

If you get hard tunneled, you can have off the record. It does the exact same thing as dead hard without you having to activate it and time it coreectly I think, right?
It's an overall healthier change for the game, as too many survivors rely on it. It's the exact same perk BUT you need to unhook someone.
I kind of agree with this. Ive seen people say "people wont chase the unhooker because Dead Hard gives them an additional health state" but Dead Hard did that before anyways, the only thing that is changing is it now has a limited use factor to it and early game chases are now better.
I think less people will use DH, but it will still definitely be used, interactivity (the ability to choose when and where to use it) is one of the reasons why DH has remained prevalent compared to other Exhaustion perks.

Mangled and perks like Coulrophobia and Pentimento will 100% have to be looked into before the update goes live. And camping will also need to be nerfed in some way. But I do think the nerf to healing is a good change.
I like the changes that we are getting, but BHVR seems to overlook certain problems that such changes can cause, not addressing them as well.
I think nerfing self-healing specifically was the way to go, and having two Survivors waste time to heal one another should be incentivized heavily, especially since it makes them easier to pressure instead of having them all split apart.
I do hope that anti-healing is addressed with the PTB and update, I really do, just we are really left in the dark considering what information the Developer Update, so you can tell where this is coming from at least.

If the killer is camping and not moving you know exactly where they are and can run in a straight line away from them out of the 32 meter radius. You can also run bite the bullet to essentially negate the perk entirely and remain inside of the terror radius
The issue is the short time window to heal two Survivors, you only have 12 seconds to make an unhook before the Survivor reaches second stage. Healing Perks, Reassurance, and Kinship are going to be necessary if people decide to use this strategy.
I dont think many people will bring this perk, nor will people use this strategy often, but I think it has the potential to be nasty, especially if SoloQ players arent readily bringing a build to counter it.

So long as it's not ultra-precise in its visuals like Spine Chill currently is, I have no problem with it.
It will work exactly like the Terror Radius. How fast the heartbeats for the Terror Radius is how fast it the heart will beat visually.

I know from experience that the DBD community can be very adverse to accessibility options.
I had folks jump down my neck when I suggested that it would be nice if the devs could scale back the preset volume of chase music because some of the killers have chase music that makes playing the game difficult for folks with overly sensitive hearing and Tinnitus.
DBD's community is not use to these kind of changes and a lot of people are unfamiliar as to where these changes are coming from since they've never been exposed to it, I feel like it would be best to try and inform those who may not understand or may be confused.

killer got nothing.

"Survivors are getting more buffs with information" except all it does it change the Terror Radius to be visual based, BHVR themselves even said that it functions entirely based on the Terror Radius and provides no competitive advantage.
All this does it help people with hearing impairments (such as myself) and makes it so I finally free up a perk slot and remove Spine Chill. Ive seen people say "this is a buff for Survivors since it frees up a perk slot" when in reality we've been forced to use Spine Chill for years because the game didnt have accessibility options, it's not like we had a choice in running the perk, we were basically forced to.
-
The issue is that Call of Brine is that it has to compete with Surveillance; Call of Brine's 200% regression made it consistently better than Surveillance, and the fact that it's effect lingers even if the Survivors leave the Generator also make it's information overall better.
BHVR nerfed Call of Brine to give Surveillance at least a reason to exist. In fact, I could argue the fact that people completely forgot that Surveillance is even a competing perk just goes to show how much it was overshadowed by Call of Brine, at least now there will be a reason to use it, especially since Stealth Killers can make great usage from it.

Vigil was a very popular perk when it was first released since you could recover Exhaustion while running at the time, making it much more manageable to SB or DH twice in a chase
When they got rid of Exhaustion recovery while running, the perk fell down HARD and only really saw use again once it got buffed to 30% and got the other Status Effects added to it
I personally wouldnt count that as the perk being "destroyed" since the perk itself is not receiving any changes, only the gameplay elements around it.
It would be similar to BT, in a way.
BT used to be a "must bring" to every match, nowadays you never see it because gameplay elements have changed and Endurance on unhooks are basekit so people feel less inclined to bring it. Hell, BT got buffed technically, since it has longer duration + Haste.

Borrowed Time, Self Care, Vigil, Decisive, Balanced Landing, MoM. These are just the ones that come off the top of my head. These are just perks, which werent even the strongest thing Survivors had.
To say that theyve never felt a perk of theirs being "destroyed" is just plain ignorant.
Vigil? I thought Vigil was buffed compared to it's original? How is it a "destroyed" perk?
The recovery % from Status Effects was increased, the amount of Status Effects covered by the perk was increased, and BHVR finally let it's effect stack. Vigil was never "destroyed", it just released in a state that nobody liked, it's always been an underrated perk in general.
-
I mean the DBD community is quite selfish, it's about people and their side, never about the other, they lack empathy for the other side. I normally hate splitting people into "sides" but this Dev Update is so polarizing for the community, it's like P6.1.0 all over again.
All I care about is the Doom Engravings and Death Engravings nerf, I could care less about the healing/perk nerfs since they barely impact me (I bring in Botany or Autodidact almost every match of Survivor, and the only slowdown I use is Pop Goes as Killer).
-
I personally just find it distasteful for BHVR to continue to nerf Billy despite them already having the deal with awful map designs; it just feels weird to make a joke about nerfing Pig but continuing to destroy a Killer like Billy.
Personally, I dont mind the healing changes, I dont mind the perk/meta changes, what I do mind is my Doom Engravings and Death Engravings being touched and my hundreds/thousands of hours of practice being wasted.
-
This update was basically a trade that overall just benefited Killer. Killer got their perks nerfed, Survivor got their perks nerfed, and Survivors got basekit nerfs. While toolboxes are definitely still problematic, I think BHVR are trying to shift the game by forcing people into using different/unique perks that are stuff we've seen for years, so give it time and they will get hit by the nerf hammer.
The only thing Im overall upset about is the Engravings nerf for Billy, if BHVR goes through with it (they probably will because they have never straight up reverted a Billy nerf so far), then Im probably just going to main another Killer... and I would main Demogorgan instead but I dont have access to the Stranger Things DLC since I moved from Console to PC. Just a huge rip.

So many good points being made already in the posts before me, by way more experienced Billys than me that I have nothing to add. I just hope BHVR listens this time and throws this idea where it belongs.
I don't understand the few people here trying to "rub it in", asking for reworks and/or being happy about the nerf. There's 31 killers in the roster, Billy being one of the least played ones. I'm sure you've got a killer out there that is more suitable for you and that you don't play against him that often with engravings.
Because Billy is played so little, they do not understand the counterplay to Billy, so to them, it feels unfair. They lack understand of the amount of time and effort that is put into curving and the skills needed for it.
Also, some people just like starting fights because they like to make people mad, Forums has had an influx of troll/bait accounts recently, so it's to be expected.

Flick Billy? Since when could you "flick" with Billy's power, their turn speed is locked to a certain amount with a chainsaw sprint, and canceling your chainsaw and flicking it into Survivors for a down got fixed in 2018. Pardon my confusion, but what the hell are you even on about?
Curving isnt flicking. Red-stain/directional mindgames arent always flicking but you can react to them in time, and there are ways to play each tile. It creates interactions since both players act and react accordingly, similar to your average Killer looping a pallet and doing a double back to make distance, etc. Literally saying "this isnt interaction" is basically like saying "looping in general has no interaction", because curving is fundamentally apart of the looping process.
Also might I point out, that "curving" very much IS INTENDED by BHVR, when Billy first released, they never had increased directional turning at the start of a chainsaw sprint, it was later added, and when people learned to curve, BHVR encouraged it. You would know this if you actually did an ounce of research before talking on subjects you dont actually know about. I would compare it to being similar to Survivor's spinning Killers, it definitely was not the intended originally design for the game, but become apart of it because the community and developers liked it.
-
I think the only issue with Inner Healing is the fact that it's effectiveness is reduced when more people bring it. Remember, there are only 5 Dull/Hex Totems, only 5 total heals, 4 people can split it, but it often just doesnt work out well.

Pretty sure a perfect example of survivorship bias. High performing killer, despite nerfs, still does well. Thing is though, it will continue to do so, because the only ones remaining to actually PERFORM on killer are those who are incredibly dedicated and skilled to a ridiculous degree.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Z4PFQPULZVJY/survivorship.png
Dude, listen here.
Billy's literally on saving grave has been Doom Engravings and Death Engravings. They made loops that you otherwise couldnt play actually playable, they made him more fun to play since there was more overall you could do with their ability. Look at 95% of Billy main's loadouts and youll see them using at least 1 Engraving.
DBD has horrible map design, especially with most recently released maps/reworks, but Engravings made those maps somewhat tolerable, or dare I say, fun. Many people literally only play Billy because of Engravings, they take skill to use and felt rewarding, but this nerf just punishes you for using addons that were already considered balanced (since they gave lethality but required precision and skill), and it just kills the enjoyment.
All this does is just shift the way Engravings plays. The difficulty is made further difficult, yet the reward is literally the same, "the goalpost hasnt moved but now the field is covered in spike pits and landmines". It just sucks, most people can agree. I think a lot of Billy mains are going to either quit or just move to Blight, there is no reason for them to not do so, I know Im going to be moving to Blight.

Who was asking for Hillybilly nerfs, though?
It's like a forbidden word. You mention Billy changes of any kind, Billy gets nerfed. It's like the "anti-swearing jar" of DBD.
-
Im sure the 5 Hag mains that exist will find some way to adapt... as much as I hate to say it.
I mean, if you managed to play Hag this long, you probably have some tricks up your sleeve anyways. And Ive seen some really smart Hag mains that dont trap in obvious spots (by Generators/Totems/Hooks) and can sweep most pub matches with minimal effort... I dont think they are going anywhere anytime soon.
I think the only downside to this is the fact that the divide between Hag and Trapper is being blurred much more. Since you are basically playing at 4.4 m/s for the Trapper Sack addon as basekit.
-
I mean, we may see a meta shift soon seeing the recently released Developer Update nerfed a lot of things for both sides, I wouldnt force you to stay around, you can leave, or stay, if you want to, you are your own person so you can make your own decisions, but I feel as if it might be worth at least seeing where this game goes.
-
I would personally prefer a buffer timer in which you can slide across objects at the start of a chainsaw sprint. It would make his ability accessible for newer players, and let more experienced Billy's curve loops they otherwise couldnt before.
-
I personally never had issues with the overheat mechanics, since I knew when to time my chainsaw and could get downs 95% of the time. The only time I would ever come close to overheating is when I would try to curve objects to hit a Survivor, but even then, my chainsaw's heat would be restored to normal by the time I got done picking up and hooking the Survivor.
What did not need changes? The Doom Engravings and Death Engravings. They were perfectly balanced since they let you improve your anti-loop and mobility, but requiring an insane amount of precision to actually use properly. Instead of changing the other addons to be better... you nerf Doom Engravings and Death Engravings.
Listen here. Billy has already been nerfed and nerfed and nerfed with the horrible map design. Loading into a new or reworked map is basically a ticket to a bad time, and the only saving grace for Billy (for me) was Doom Engravings and Death Engravings being fun... you ruined that.
You killed the only thing I enjoyed about Billy, BHVR. At this point, Pig isnt even the punching bag the community thinks it is, hell, you even buffed Pig, but you still nerf Billy... I just dont really know what to think anymore.
(EDIT: For some reason this Discussion I made got moved into a comment on someone else's post... I guess that's a thing now?)
-
I would honestly prefer if Lightburn for Wraith just made their action speed slower instead of being a straight up stun. Like you could slow down their pallet breaking slightly or the window vaulting after blinding them or something, just to waste a tiny bit of extra time, but it's nothing severely impactful, at least not as impactful as Lightburn stuns.

@Coffeecrashing said:
Putting holes in the car walls is survivor sided, because the current long car walls make it more difficult to chain tiles together, when the car wall is blocking the survivor from reaching the middle of the map.
Hard disagree, it also makes it easier to travel for Killers, it makes pressuring Generators easier.

I normally avoid being negative, since I feel like it gets people no where, but I think you can understand where I am coming from after being cyberstalked and harassed/DDOSed for months, in which has had such a significant impact upon my life to where a lot of my friends stopped playing with me or cut ties altogether since it had implications to affect their lives.

People are going to make fun of you but you're not wrong. DBD has unfair maps that make 2/31 killers viable when the survivors you play against have more than a potato between their ears.
I will remind everyone that people who play these games professionally for their job (even the ones with 7-9k hours) resort to camping/slugging/tunneling because high level survivor play is too efficient. It gets even worse vs 3-4 man SWF teams which have no limits.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3377417#Comment_3377417
-"You can win with every Killer against the majority of Survivors."
And that's why 90% of the dbd tournaments have Only Nurse and Blight and the survivors have massive perk/item restrictions. How much you wanna bet if I put together a SWF team that you can't win? Since all killers are viable you will play Doctor.
Game will be played best 2/3 on random maps (no picking). Addons will be limited (no iri, 1 max purple/green per player) and you can't run addons more than once for the 3 game set.
IF you got to play Nurse and Blight sure you might be ok... but you dont get to do that so you will get stomped.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3377422#Comment_3377422
-"the statement that "Nurse and Blight are the only two Killers that are barely viable" is laughably stupid."
-"What's my key to success? Unpredictability, I dont run meta."
You can run no perks/addons vs garbage mid tier survivors and 4k every time for like 50 games. If you do not need to run meta perks then you are playing low skill players.
I do not get the logic of "you only face trash Survivors because your MMR is too low", if I win a majority of matches, my MMR would have a net increase over decrease, meaning that I would be a high MMR, especially with hundreds/thousands of hours in the game.
If you want me to mathematically prove if for ya, I can go right ahead. If I have 470+ matches tracked, with me having an 85% win rate (78% kill rate, keep in mind I give hatch in most of matches so it could be higher), I would have gained 7332+ Rating but lost 2068+ Rating, roughly meaning that my MMR rating is 5264+/- net gain... Keep in mind the hardcap to MMR is 3000 Rating (softcap for matchmaking is 1900), so realistically I would be within the 1900-3000 MMR range for matchmaking.
Also look at 95% of the other streamers you see play this game; Otz, Tru3, etc. They win most of their matches, but they face a wide variety of skill levels because MMR is functionally loose, at the softcap they get MMR ranges 1600-1900 for matchmaking (and so do I). Even at "top MMR", they still face awful teams from time to time, they also face extremely sweaty teams from time to time, BUT they dont face comp squads every single match like people make it out to be, and you would be lying to yourself by saying otherwise.
TLDR; MMR is a horrible system that does not probably quantify skill, therefore using it as a metric to justify someone's skill (or lack there of) is null and void. It should not be used to credit people nor discredit people.
I get my share of sweaty matches, I get my share of relaxed matches, but overall you need to stop making excuses for yourself and accept that you lose sometimes (which is what Ive taken the time to do, it's why Ive been collecting data and trying to improve). Maybe you can actually use the time to improve with certain Killers, Ive been learning how to flick Pyramid Head's power, as well as using Lo-Pro on Billy to do 90*/135* flick turns, maybe you can learn something new or practice a new skill/trick?
-
I do understand where this is coming from, but the statement that "Nurse and Blight are the only two Killers that are barely viable" is laughably stupid.
Ever since I started writing down my statistics, I have won (3K/4K) 85% of my matches as Killer, I do have my off games, but Ive reached the point to where I can play as relaxed as I want because as soon as crap hits the fan I know I can just tunnel and camp my way out of it.
What's my key to success? Unpredictability, I dont run meta. Youd be surprised to see how effective running different perks can be once you know how to utilize them. E.G. Forced Penance is one of my most ran perks; Survivors can avoid it by not taking Protection Hits, which can lead to easy tunneling, likewise, if they do take Protection Hits, I can snowball easily. I always have an ace up my sleeve.

also as others said (and I haven’t read all replies) - you didn’t do anything wrong. There will always be games where you don’t perform your best. Even those supposedly high mmr streamers have these kinda matches. Don’t worry. Nothing you did was wrong (even though i also kind of understand that getting killed with EGC through bodyblocking does kind of feel frustrating - it obviously doesn’t warrant chat abuse nor DDoSing)
Ive tried colorblind settings, and they work on some maps, but make other maps miserable. My issue is that the scratchmarks by default are not bright enough for me to be able to see them through grass, all the colors just kind of blend together.

Or, hear me out, you can just hit them out of the Exit Gates.

I personally can thank BHVR for making the new maps looks nice. Although I do not like the layouts or how they play, the visuals for their maps are always insanely well done and look beautiful, and early DBD map design also had this eerie feel which I know will probably never be seen again but it's something I always enjoyed. The art team goes pretty hard with everything they produce.

The killer's job is to find survivors and kill them, that's their primary options.
The survivor's job is to repair, and hide, help teammates. The 3 generators were nearby so we went into stealthy option, which is a part of survivor gameplay.
Thus saying, slugging is considered to be game hostage scenario because survivors aren't able to repair and help their teammates, yet killer doesn't use his option to hook survivors. So?
Because the Killer is actively trying to do their objective to confirm the final kills of the match. Is it annoying as hell? Definitely, but it's not against the rules, the developers have gone on record multiple times to say so. Since they are still actively playing the game.
The only time holding the game hostage becomes problematic is if the Killer entirely refuses to hook a Survivor and prevents them from doing Generators (basically 3-gen Knight), if you make a match last for the full match duration intentionally, that is holding the game hostage, it leads to a stalemate. Likewise, as Survivor, if you draw out a match and do not try and progress the Generators, it can be considered taking the game hostage since no side is able to progress their objective (Killers cannot kill Survivors if they are hiding, and Survivors just hide to last the longest, so nothing gets done), it leads to stalemate.
It is definitely weird semantics, DBD is an asymmetrical game which means the rules apply in a weird way because Killers and Survivors are inherently different.

Since I don't play Billy, I don't know.
But I specifically noted with this map that trees I slide off of tend to be located around the perimeter of the map.
So, when I want to work around a player in a L-T mess or some structure, or intercept a player before they get into one, I generally have to go outward, which means I slide off a tree and hit the border wall, leaving me with a mess of slide trees between me and the player I was trying to get an angle on.
Inside the main structure I have to know before hand where the player is going to go to bounce to that spot before they get there, and its very tight quarters, leaving not a lot of time to think or watch, just reducing me to muscle memory intercept at a vault, usually.
If I could lobby dodge a map...
I made a post awhile back which describes all the issues with the map design DBD has been taking, and how it has negatively affected Billy.
If you want to read it, here (just a warning though, it's really long): https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/367397/billy-mains-perspective-on-map-releases-reworks#latest
-
"If you know the map feels awful to play on as Blight, imagine how painful it is for a Billy main"
-
I find that having the yellow aura of Generators revealed to players is honestly a good thing, since Trail of Torment lets you use Dragon's Grip with it and the aura is basically baiting Survivors in.
-
Ive made a post about this before, but as a Billy main, it feels awful to play since every map release and map rework has been horrible for Billy to play on, and BHVR just keeps forgetting that Billy exists.
That being said, for most other Killers, I do not really struggle enough, nor do I not enjoy the game. I think DBD is a much more enjoyable experience if you stop trying to take it super seriously, you can look at so many community members and see that most of the hyper-competitive players are miserable while everyone else is having fun.
-
I mean, why does it matter? Killers can grab Survivors off of hooks still, and basekit BT does not disable during EGC like other anti-tunnel mechanics, so STBFL is the least of my concerns mechanically.

There are reasonable assumptions and unreasonable assumptions. You are telling me even though you direct a tirade about "just survivors", generalizing and hating to me from one single question I asked someone else, that I am then supposed to believe it isn't about me? HARDLY. None I showed this back and forth to has taken that direction.
Again, I do not blame you for assuming such, since language can be interpreted in different ways, what I write down might not be received the way I thought it would be, that is just how things go sometimes, and funnily enough, this is probably the 4th or 5th this Ive had to have a discussion like this before, I rarely directly quote someone and 95% of the time use quotations for interpretations and hypotheticals, but I guess I should maybe make things much clearer going forwards since at this rate confrontations like this will continue to happen.

Nope. I asked a Question to another user (not you, but Dreamnomad)
I gave you an answer to the question in my original reply,
You attempted to answer it by placating me with irrelevant points and going off topic, accusations of moral character and a misunderstanding of the question not posed to you. I did not say "just survivors" and I did not suggest that the blame is only on Survivors. Then you accuse me of generalizing AND HATING survivors, What??? I didn't even say it was just survivors. You assumed that, straight off the bat.
If you are done with the assumption game you run here, then maybe we can talk about the social influence Survivors have with the weight of death threats and have a productive conversation instead. (yes, it was a rhetorical question.)
To actually provide a solid response when Im not sleep deprived (I had been working on a college essay with like 4 hours of sleep when I responded, but now I am better rested):
I never said that you said it was "just Survivors", if you actually look at posts Ive made, youll know that I use " ", - -, * *, and a lot of commas to highlight points that I am making. You can go through others post I have made and see it for yourself, I hold on shame in it since to me it is normal and 95% of my posts are boring for the average person to read through when I use my normal writing style, sometimes I do write things differently because most people find it boring but most follow the same style.
Quotations markers can be used a literary tool more than just quoting things, since I can bring implied information or hypotheticals with quotations markers that were not present in the original post since I am able to use them as a literary tool and stretch the rules... or to simplify it, it is my writing style that I use a lot (since I am college and my writing style holds over to normal life), quotes from me can be exact quotes, near quotes, interpretations, and assumptions since such is require for the formatting I use often (MLA, APA, and ASA).
I do not blame you for interpreting and assuming what I said was directed with malice or in a negative way, since my writing style is different than what you will see in most cases, considering the fact that I am a lot more formal with things (again, feel free to check out the other posts I have made and see for yourself). And often I do tend to forget that what I can say can be interpreted a different way, so my apologies.
Also when you leave a question in the air for anyone on a public forum, expect people, anyone, to respond because it is a public forum. If you want to keep a discussion private, then go ahead and move the discussion to a private place. You asked a question, I answered and provide a perspective of looking at it using interpretations and hypotheticals. I never accused you of anything directly nor was that my intention.

Fairness??? what in the world. What sentence did I send that "heavily implies" that? and how is that a fair interpretation? lmao.
I didn't even mention the words you used, like come on, How about you stay on topic?
I mean, you left the topic to begin with, but alright.
I gave you an answer to the question in my original reply, they are toxic individuals, they do not care about what side you are playing or what side they are playing, if something happens that they do not like, they take it out on others.
That's it, that's the answer to your question, that's why people feel the need to send threats and such (even if it is pointless).

Where did I say it was "just Survivors"?
Where did I generalize and hate a group of people over something horrible that only a smaller portion of the community did?
If we are going to pull out statements like that, then in all fairness, I never specifically stated that you do it…
If you want a solid response to what we both said though, the answer is that what we both said is heavily implied, let’s not be around the bush here and pretend that we don’t judge others, it is simple human nature to judge and it would be a lie to say we never do. We can only minimize what times we do actually do it though.

It is worth taking away their strongest perk from the survivors, they immediately shout this is a weak perk, no need to nerf it, it is balanced. Your swf uses this perk a lot more than you think.
"Hypothetically they dont need it" was used for a reason, it seems like everyone just ignores that.

If those Killer strats are not illegal why do Survivors feel justified to use death threats against killers who do?
Most people who send death threats to people who use them are not "just Survivors". Realistically, most people who play the game to begin with play both sides (I think people forget this). Ive been sent death threats by Killers and Survivors, Ive been cyberstalked, DOXed, and DDOSed many times, I do not agree with the idea that it is "just Survivors".
Another thing, is that they are just toxic individuals in general, generalizing and hating a group of people over something horrible that only a smaller portion of the community does is horrible idea. Negativity bias is definitely a hard thing to move away from but it is worth doing for your physical and mental health.

No Killer strategy is "illegal" since BHVR actively supports and promotes these playstyles:
- Nothing is stopping a Nemesis player from running all the way across the map to tunnel a poor Meg that just installed the game 5 minutes ago.
- Nothing is stopping someone from taking the game hostage as Knight in a 3-gen for an hour.
- Nothing is stopping a Nurse from slugging all 4 Survivors to death for the full bleedout time.
- Nothing is stopping a Bubba from camping a Survivor on their first hook at 5 generators remaining (ironically happened in the last match that I played, not that I mind since I run Kinship).
- 95% of the people who play Killer do not care about anything and just play the game however they want (including myself), if people actually cared about what Survivors thought, nobody would be complaining about nobody would do anything of these things to begin with... but obviously people are complaining for a reason.
If people choose to not play against this, or express that they do not like it, they have the right to. The ability to "leave the match" is there for a reason... so people can leave the match. Social media, and the forums, are here to provide platforms for people to speak on these topics, if they think 3-gen Knight is boring, they have the right to express their thoughts and feelings just as much as you do.

Saying killers aren’t entitled to 4K doesn’t mean they aren’t entitled to “try” to 4K, just as survivors are entitled to escape by any means.
But the attitude you have of “oh if I don’t like what the killer is doing, I’m going to DC!”… That is the textbook definition of entitlement.
That entitlement can do a lot, and in a way, I would argue that it is a double-edged sword since BHVR tracks stats.
BHVR saw that people DCed a lot when facing Legion when they released to live servers, which prompted them to change them, and eventually we ended up with what we got now, which most people consider to be more enjoyable for both sides compared to before.
Who's to say that the same wont happen with the Skull Merchant? A lot of people have playing as and against the Skull Merchant, and there are a lot of people who want to see her reworked. I honestly think it might lead to another Legion scenario.
Not that I support DCing of course.

I can only imagine the outrage that would happen if they nerf killer gen regresing perks and don't change DH.
I mean what could they realistically do to change DH?
Reduce the "On-Hit" Sprit Burst by 10-20%? Reduce the time-window to 0.25 seconds? I mean they are surely ideas but people will adapt to the changes and people will just go back to complaining again, nothing will have changed.
Dead Hard, as a perk, will never be balanced in the eyes of the community since there will always be something to complain about it, then again, when is this community never complaining about something pointless or exaggerating.

At first, easier to earn BP and Blood web is cheaper, I thought there is no reason for survivor to not bring anything.
Then I realized that items are so rare in Blood web because of so many useless stuffs. Items deplete pretty fast if you bring them every match.
The lack of items is also the reason why you may usually see Brown item but stacked with strong add-on, because the number of strong add-on are higher than items.
Speaking from personal experience, I have two reasons to not bring items:
- I like to gamble with chests because it is fun, I like RNG because it makes each match feel unique.
- I am trying to prestige multiple characters, for Killer and Survivor, so often I do not have the best or most items to use, I do not have the luxury. Once I get all perks unlocked (again), this will not be an issue anymore. This can apply to others.
Some people do not want to feel forced to pressured to bring in items as well. Similar to "Killer should not revolved around addons", some people feel that "Survivors should not revolve around items", which in of itself could be its own discussion.
