Okay I suppose I'll be honest when it comes down to the Clown. I honestly enjoyed the clown quite a bit. Thanks to him I can easily win a Chase and looping.

I'll keep in mind I'm on console and before any of you go running at the mouth we do have casual players on Console I am not one of them I play this game every day and all I can say about the new killer is

If it can't stop a chase as quickly as the clown doctor or hillbilly we're going to have a problem. Even if it's a tracking ability it better be good

I too am a console player, for me because Nurse is not as good on console as she is on PC Clown is kind of my version of Nurse, so I hope we get something along those lines too

  • @Delfador said:
In high ranks, there are only billies and nurses and it is really boring to face the same 2 killers all the day.

I want the new killer to be more powerful than the clown. In fact, I want her to be as good as hillbilly because hillbilly is the only balanced killer in this game.

I feel the new killer should have an insta down attack but done in a unique way rather than just " hit this person under these circumstances to down them " I think having that kind of power with a dash of uniqueness would be cool.

Clown was ######### on the PTB until they removed his slowdown and increased the intoxication duration. Don't freak out when the new Killer isn't that great in the PTB, that might change sooner rather than later.

Yeah, Clown on the live servers to me is one of the best killers in the game which is good. What you said though about the slowdown they originally had for him I think that is what we have to look out for. If this killer has something that requires them to slowdown then that could be bad news. But yes they may also do some good changes if it needs them so I am just holding on to find out. There should be a PTB soon I think.

I agree. He needs some buffs and his own add-ons. Maybe something that allows for different playstyles.
    Like add-ons to:

    • chase faster
    • charge faster
    • reduce terror radius

These are actually changes I have asked for before, I know that LF is MEANT to be the close range punisher, but he isn't right now. these kind of buffs along with a rework to his add-ons would be great.

I feel like a slightly reduced terror radius would be good for a couple reasons.
First off, like you said he's a close range punisher. Survivors would have to actively look out for him because he could get closer without people knowing.
Secondly, in the the original movie he jumps out at Franklin and kills him, (Franklin's Demise is based off of this scene) so a smaller terror radius might make him feel more like the movie him as well.

Yes you are right, a reduced terror radius has also been thrown around a bit.

Regardless of disagreements with someone else's opinion, keep it civil

That isn't logical at all, but ok.

You can get to rank 1 with ANY killer. That doesn't mean they are all powerful. I play LF so I know his problems is what I am saying.

I am fine with a character having a good defence game, but in my opinion it should NEVER sacrifice their offensive side for it

A character shouldn't have both, though. You have hillbilly for offense and leatherface for defense. From the sounds of it, you'd like LF's defense to be as obscurely powerful as it is now, while also having a strong offense. That's far too much. That being said, if you take from his defense to improve his offense, then you took away the one thing he excels at to make him.....average.

Im not trying to start a fight, I'm rather enjoying this conversation, but we're definitely at opposite sides of the debate here

Well, tbh Hag has both great offence and defence and she is fine, Nurse is a similar situation so I think LF would be absolutely fine with a great defence and offence because he would still lack mobility.

Gag hag doesn't really have offense without the mint rag. Traps are defending by nature since they require the opponent to set them off. That's where the mint rag comes in.

as for the nurse, she's in a class all her own, and in my opinion, has no bearing in this debate since her power is designed from the ground up to ignore the games many mechanics

Hag can actually be one of the most aggressive killers in the game with good trap placement.

You sacrifice mobility to down multiple people. Fair trade, in my eyes.

Except that you almost exclusively down multiple people by camping a hook, which puts us back at square one

I camp the hook and the gens around it, true, but that's what he does, and he does it amazing well.

This is what we are trying to get away from though; his prime playstyle being a camper.

Fair enough, and I get that, but shouldn't there be a killer who excels at that playstyle? There should be a killer for every type of playstyle, camping included. And while I'm not the biggest fan of camping, the devs have stated that camping is a valid strategy.

Oh yeah don't worry I understand that, I just feel there are better ways to do it and LF is not how I would have done it. I think they should shift LF to be a more aggressive killer and the, if they want to, make a killer that IS more defensive, but do it in a better way. That is where I am coming from with this. Hope you understand!

Just M1 until you have a window of oportunity to oneshot people, if you do, M2. If you dont time it correctly, the survivor is going to vault without being hit. If you hit an object, its your fault.

Its like playing with NOED all the game long, just have to time it correctly, i dont think he needs a specific-killer buff. Just dont spam the ability unless you know there are no windows close. Win.

I don't think you understand the fundamental issues with LF. He has a majority of add-ons that are useless, he has a mechanic ( acceleration ) which doesn't work and his ability is super clunky and inferior to Billy's. He needs A LOT of work done to him.

The thing is LF doesn't need a lot of work just for his add ons to be meaningful and chainsaw pallet stuns to be fixed. He should be like a unstoppable maniac when he is reving that chainsaw and you should see your life flash before your eyes when you hear it.

Eh, I'd argue he needs a little more than that. The problem is that he's a nerfed Billy. Everything Leatherface can do Billy can do way better aside from facecamping. Facecamping is the one and only thing Leatherface can do better.

He doesn't require a total re-work just one or two improvements to make him better like:

A 24 meter terror radius. Make him a stealthier Billy. That would be cool as hell.

Modifying the slow down when revving the saw. Make it so he's slowed after 3-4 seconds of revving. That way he'd be better at nailing them around vaults and pallets.

And there's fun and interesting things you could do like him having a built-in Mangled system where when he hooks someone they have the Mangled effect until fully healed.

Or when he breaks a pallet with the saw he receives a speed boost. Or hitting them with the saw gives him a speed boost.

That and yes, fixing his add-ons. Make the Chili do something noticeable. I'm convinced it's bugged but schmucks swear up and down that it isn't and it increases his velocity or something. As-is the effects of Chili do nothing that benefits him. The add-ons that increase his speed (the engravings?) are superfluous. The status effect add-ons have a time limit because reasons. And like Billy he has no Ultra Rares.

Giving killers a unique effect when they do something, like you say with LF mangleing people when he hooks them would be a really cool feature

  • @AshleyWB said:

There are a couple of changes that could really help Leatherface -maybe I'll make my own thread with these suggestions.

    • Reduce his terror radius -since Leatherface is supposed to punish bad positioning, a smaller terror radius could really benefit him.
    • Reduce the baseline charge time for his chainsaw OR reduce the speed penalty he gets by performing this action -currently one of his biggest, if not the biggest, weakness.
    • Change his chainsaw attack so it doesn't stop after breaking a pallet.
    • Look at his "acceleration" stat and its related addons, because he's currently slower than he's supposed to be during the chainsaw attack.

These are literally all the changes I want done to him.

Just reduce his speed to 105%. All we need. Or even reduce his hinderence to the ability of the huntress add-on. The clown is too fast for his B I G  C H O N K status. He is way too fast for his ability.  105%? I guess you have less than 20 hours in this game?

I have +500 hours, been on consol sinse freddy cane out.

You are either lying, or you spend this 500 hours playing survivor on rank 20, because with sane mind you would not like to nerf clown to 105% of speed. Try playing T1 Myers vs pallet loopers, you will be literally slower than them.

Actually, I got to rank one survivor and killer last season. That isn’t the buff I said wanted as final, that was an idea. The point of the forums are to discuss ideas and report problems. Nerf him to 110% and weaken the hinderence a little, as in make survivors have the ability to fast vault in the gas.

The question is why would you like to nerf mid-tier killer, when the survivors are currently overpowered? And you propose a horrendal nerf, that would make him the wost killer in this game for the rest of his mere life.

Because survivors are not op atm. The exhaustion nerf and pallet change have actually put killers in the power role. A group of rando survivors are not as powerful as the killer, the SWF teams are a problem, but there are programms to detect it.

Ah, ok this explains a lot about this whole topic

  • @iceman2kx said:
I'm curious if anyone here plays non-camper style Leatherface builds, and what perks you use. Also, why do you prefer LF over Billy?

I had a lot of fun on Leatherface, but as my rank climbed, generators got done at a ridiculously fast pace so I felt kind of forced into playing a killer with better mobility, Billy. Ever since I made the switch over and got a bit more use to Billy's chainsaw mechanic, I don't regret it at all. Billy just seems far superior in almost every aspect and Leatherface essentially feels like a slow, clunky version of Billy.

Here's a couple examples of what I've noticed about Leatherface: His main and best ability, BBQ, feels useless on him because of how slow he trucks across the map whereas Billy can zip right over and the "data" is still relevant. His chainsaw mechanic, while amazing and soooo much fun, has a huge penalty for bumping into something whereas Billy quickly recovers. You can't effectively patrol generators or exit gates like Billy can. That being said, I just feel like a fat idiot running around on the map while playing LF. I still miss playing LF though because he was a lot of fun. The feeling of hitting 2+ survivors with your chainsaw is so satisfying.

Just curious what you LF mains out there think?

YES!, I am in fact a LF main at rank 1 so I guess i'll just state my build here:

BBQ, what you say is correct LF can't take much advantage of hauling his ass across the map for BBQ. BUT I actually use it to notify me if anyone is nearby after I hook someone, thus helping LF out a bit.

    Ruin, for obvious reasons

Nurses Calling, I find with LF you have to just try and locate people as quickly as possible under ANY circumstance. NC really helps with that.

Bamboozle, to lessen the harshness of window loops against LF

That is my build and it does ok at rank 1 but realistically you are playing LF so there is only so much you can do.

  • I absolutely support this on Leatherface.

He just needs anything at this point

Yeah, he needs to get the new Wraith treatment with add-ons that are more unique to him rather than hust most of them being Billy add-ons. I think his Chilli should stay, the issue with it is that his acceleration is useless, thus that makes the chilli useless. Yeah I hate when
    Nurse mains spam blinks
    Hag mains spam traps
Amanda mains spam rbts and the ambush
Or when Myers mains spam stalk

How dare Killers use their powers those unskilled broken noobs.

Now back in the world of people with common sense. Stop whining about a Killer using their powers when it's the most viable. That's just as stupid as a killer whining about how survivors keep dropping pallets and vaulting during a chase

The only difference is that those other killers skills require actual skill unlike

This Junkie of a killer who onky has to Rev up the chainsaw for a free instant kill

Yes because it requires some much skill to hold down a button when someone is in you line of sight no offence to Myers main but stalking doesn't require skill and as an Amanda main I can tell you placing a rbt on someone requires as much skill as turning on a kettle.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you the person who couldn't tell the difference between countering an item and countering a killer or see how fundamentally broken it would be if survivors could see the Killer and how very little impact seeing an item as a Killers actually going to do.

Yeah something tells me your opinion on whether something is fair or balanced in Dead by daylight is about as useful as a fish's opinion on climbing a tree.

Placing The RBT and forcing them to go off on a player indeed takes skill in map knowledge and putting pressure on them to make a move.
She has a add on that hides her machines so the survivor has to take more time locating it.

The nurse Blink ability takes a lot of skill in Timing and predicting the survivors movements

Michaels Stalk ability takes time and sacrifice if the survivors know what they're doing.

Countering a killer vs countering a item is fair if the killer is decent he has nothing to worry about...

Leather face on other hand presses his ability instant kills a survivor and destroys a pallet at no cost

Leatherface can only chainsaw at EXTREMELY close range and even then there are risks like bumping into something which, if he does, punishes him severely. He also moves slower while he is revving up the chainsaw so he loses some distance on survivors which is quite big for him. His acceleration mechanic is awful and actually makes him go slower for most of his chainsaw sprint rather than faster. His add-ons are mostly useless for him and are just Hillbilly add-ons. He also has no mind game potential around loops and is one of the easiest killers to loop in the game.

So I disagree with this claim that he has an ability that has no cost.
