You fix broken loops that good survivors know how to abuse.
There's not a single reason for either houses of pain to exist in HadonHell OR Badham. There's not a single reason for the 2 story to exist in Badham that has every window open.
There's not a reason for the main building in groaning or Crotus to exist. There's not a reason for long walls in to shack to exist. I can go on but you get the point.
Loops need fixed. Some maps need shrunk. More pallets need to be a little more risky.
I disagree with making pallets more risky, but I agree with shrinking some maps and fixing certain loops.

Yes, you can. If that level of player exist. You account for them
People who are good at the game should not be punished due to incompetency in the balancing team.
How? I'd be fine with changes that don't affect lower mmr players because most players aren't that good.
-
I struggle with it a lot. Gens usually won't get done if I "do bones" instead of working on gens. It's just a very time consuming thing to do for a killer that might not even be using the perk (not to mention I have no way to know how many totems my teammates cleansed). I'd love if it received some changes.

A common misconception. Changes to make higher-MMR gameplay better does not mean that lower-MMR gameplay will be worse.
For example, look at Blight and Dead Hard. At lower-level MMR, they aren't great because you need to put time into using them and time into the game. The Jake that DH's into a wall isn't really getting any value from his perk. The Blight who can't properly turn around objects also isn't getting value. However, both of those things are great at high MMR.
What would you do to fix the problems that wouldn't affect low mmr? I'd be fine with that.
-
Not really sure anything can be done. Most people probably aren't even playing at high MMR. This would make the game even more unfun.
-

You keep saying that. But it's not reality. At high MMR. You're lucky to get 4-5 hooks before gens are done.
What does 4-5 hooks mean ? That means you basically tunneled someone out (3 out of 5) hooks. Survivors hate that right....? What else does that mean ? It means one person was left behind at the EGC because the other 2 couldn't save them. But hey 2k right ? Balance...Right...? So much fun being survivors plaything.
The only killer who's still feared is a god tier nurse. The rest are laughing stock. Even blight and spirit. Good survivors at high MMR can deal with both just fine.
You can't really balance around high MMR. Most people aren't at that level.
-
My opinion? Killer is way more balanced than people think. You are not supposed to get a 4K every game. SoloQ is what really needs fixed. Its the weakest thing in the game.

Med kit is single. Coh is aoe. You know how many times i was saved cause of coh?
That's a good thing , lol. Perks are meant to be useful. The only problem is other healing perks/items stacking with CoH. Boon perks are actually balanced.

Well, yes, not everyone is against it of course. Though, I've heard plenty of killers explicitly stating they refuse to run it. Many of those on these very forums.
I'm one of them. I will never use NOED. It feels cheap and very unfair to solo players.

no it wont no reason to nerf it...
I think it will eventually get nerfs/changes. It's just not a healthy perk.

This is the first I'm hearing about renegotiations, and I'm fairly horrified we might end up losing cosmetic options (and what was one of the neatest ways to obtain a cosmetic in this game, imo, it's like a secret bonus unlock and I wish there was more of the sort in DBD) over the endless offense olympics.
Removing Smartface does nothing to hinder racist #########. They'll still be spamming slurs and tunneling certain characters and using extremely offensive names. People that want to cause trouble will cause trouble. If we have to lose all of Bubba's faces over a tiny minority of players calling out another tiny minority of players that should be banned anyway, I'll be pissed.
People really need to ruin things for everyone, I guess.
Agreed.

Ignore it?

disagree, NOED is perfectly balanced.
Not really. It's very unhealthy for reasons I (and others) have already mentioned.
-
Who does this perk really affect? Good SWF players will rarely let NOED activate. It's the solo players that this perk hurts the most, and that isn't a good thing. Solo is the weakest thing in the game (can be the most unfun tp play as well). Doing bones just isn't always possible when playing alone. It's not a healthy perk at all.

Mine hasn’t really changed.

Nothing has changed for me. My queues are instant during the day and take around 3-5 minutes at night.

I don't actively camp/tunnel a Survivor who boops my snoot, but I have zero qualms about downing them immediately. You are not entitled to walk away because you thought I wasn't interested in trying to play seriously.
That said, I do get a certain amount of enjoyment out of pretending not to know what booping the snoot means in post-game chat.
Bad piggy, bad!!
-
You wanna know why SWF is getting more common? Because solo is absolutely awful and the devs don't really do much to help... Not to mention how almost all killers will camp and tunnel. Blame them as well. It's no wonder why it's becoming more popular. I don't blame them.

I do t know what killers you be looking at bbq is awful now because of shadow step… also the killers have to go with them perks is because the gens are flying with efficient players. Dead hard is insane I use it all the time when I play survivor it’s kind of annoying that it’s so popular now even with the buff it’s even more popular from my last three days of playing killer I only seen one sprint burst and three lithe everything else was dead hard the perks need to be nerfed in some way 🤷🏻♂️
It doesn't matter how many people use the perk... It's fine.

Then your low as crap mmr. Because majority of killers and even some honest survivors know it's not. But don't you worry. Your precious skill won't be taken from you. Survivors are allowed to make precious mistakes ❤
Yeah, okay. I'm certainly not at the top, but I'm a pretty good killer. I just don't have any problems with DH and that is me being honest. DH is fine. Try again.

That is more funny than something my friend said last night that caused my asthma when laughing to literally cause me pain. That's hilarious, you don't play killer then. Because that is literally horse💩 it in itself is balance yes, if you double the cooldown and present the ability to vault and dead hard a hit validation that shouldn't have been allowed at point blank distance. But hey it's okay, you do DESERVE a handout for your mistakes, one mistake on a killer can cause a match by any decently skilled survivor, but you know, you deserve the right to win. Of course you do. Would you like to be instantly given iridescent 1 for winning your first game of the month. Why of course.
Play killer get legitimately good, one you find the toxic survivors you will know your good and then immediately want to quit. Yeah balanced for children who play this game.
I play both sides. It's balanced. Try again.
-
@Kiikii said:

So you are okay with dead hard? The equivalent to killers is Ruin being a perk. You shouldn't be allowed to throw down a pallet, loop, loop, vault and dead hard at the same time and then in my case teleport somehow over 30 meters away and exit gate teabag me. So sure keep dead hars then give us ruin 100% regression speed, make it a perk then there we are balanced out again.
It's a balanced perk.

You don’t have to guess if you see them, mind games can be made whether they are audible or not.
Exactly. Wanting IW nerfed is silly. I have no problems with it when I play killer.

It’s in literally every game I play as killer by at least 2 survivors, often 3, sometimes even 4. It most assuredly is not fine in its current state, it might as well be renamed to “mistake fixer 3000”
ran into a wall? Poor pathing? Misjudged the killers speed? Never fear! Dead hard is here to fix your mistake and help you reach that pallet or window in time!
So what. A lot of killers I see use Ruin/Undying, POP, BBQ, ect. Does that mean we should nerf those perks? DH is perfect right now.

....that's a perfectly valid reason to change something in a game. Games should be fun.
No, it's not. I find plenty of killer perks annoying... Like POP, Ruin/Undying, etc. Do those need nerfed because I think they are Annoying? No.

Exactly

Sooo... Make it a bad perk? No thanks. We already have a lot of those. DH is fine.

It's a Survivor Perk so it's fine. They nerfed the killer perk Stridor. That's fair.
Stridor Spirit was busted.

@[Deleted User] said:
The perk absolutely needs a rework. Single most annoying perk in the game IMO
We shouldn't just rework perks simply because it's annoying. The perk is fine.
-
It's completely fine. IW only works while injured, so you can track survivors using your eyes, ears (running noise), blood and scratchmarks. No nerf is needed. Not every perk needs huge downsides or needs to be useless.

It definitely is survivor sided at the highest level watch any tournament if you think I'm wrong
The best killers in the game struggle to get a single kill vs a comp team
I understand what you're saying, but you can't balance the game at the highest level. Most people aren't going to be that good.

OP didn't say Boons were the issue. They just used them as a example to what they were pointing out.
I wasn't talking to the OP.

@MrsMaliciousX said:
Idk I really don't have a problem with boons, ive been trying to play more killer, but at the same time you win some you lose some. But the amount of camping and tunneling I get in survivor matches is UNREAL, not to mention this "hit validation" ya its a joke. I throw a pallet, killer breaks it then swings and I get downed, ya no thanks, but stuff like that doesn't happen when I play killer.
Every side is gonna have problems no matter what, no one is ever going to be happy. I guess just take the game with a grain of salt, I JUST got back from a 6 month break. It was refreshing to play something else, and I have actually been SORTA having a fun time again, this isn't a game you can just play every single day.
You gotta take breaks, I see where you're coming from tho, But survivors did get nerfed to the ground the past 2 years. So Im not sure what they are trying to do.
It's because boons aren't an issue. The only problem is healing perks/items stacking with CoH. The perks are fine.

@NoOneKnowsNova said:
I've always been very iffy on this perk as a killer main, and I've said on countless threads I'd rather it reworked to keep the same late game boost purpose with a bit more balance.
My current problem isn't the do bones arguement...sort of. The problem is in swf they're at fault if it doesnt get cleansed while if its four solos, the four solos can't do much, not near as efficiently anyways, which is my problem with this perk.
I'd like if it was made not to be a hex perk anymore, make it so every survivor on death hook becomes exposed, or something similar anyways, and give a speed boost for each survivor on death hook to separate the tiers.
But then again maybe I'm in a minority, glad you were civil in this post as most posts like this are usually much more aggresive.
I really like that change to NOED.

@Myla said:

You have to admit though, solo queue when its late is AWFUL! Queues are 10~ mins and you can usually tell just from what the survivors are wearing that it is going to be a terrible experience. After a bad game or 2 late at night when solo queuing, if I have the audacity to search for another game and the survivors are wearing default(ish) clothing, I'm done for the day.
Yep... Its definitely worse at night. I usually just exit the game after a couple of matches.
-
I play a lot of solo (my friends rarely play) and it's miserable most of the time. Face camping, tunneling, useless teammates and trolls make it very unfun. Wish I had your games 😆
-
Yep. A lot of people seem to think they are amazing and are at the highest MMR possible. They don't want to accept that they might not be as good as they think they are.

Tinkerer is fine. Don't want multiple procs ? Find ruin. Don't want multiple procs ? People need to do a better job not going down to avoid pop. That or you can run repressed alliance if you have that much of a problem with Tinkerer
There's counters to it. Not every single perk needs nerfed because people don't like going against it. It's not even that good to boot. What do you do when multiple tinkerer procs happen at once ? Or it procs when you're half way across a map ?
Disagree. Already mentioned why it's too strong, so I'm not gonna repeat myself.

They really don't.
I'm still trying to figure out how people want this nerfed. I play solo and I rarely see this perk. When I do I find it hilarious when a killer comes out of no where and I scream "Holy Hell" or "Ahhh #########". I could see why noobs hate it but they hate everything.
I personally think it needs nerfed for reasons already mentioned. I wish I had your games. I see tinkerer almost every game, not even joking. Lol
