Couldn't agree more. This is what I've been saying. The boon perks are not OP at all. It's just too much when stacked with med kits, other perks, etc.
-
It was 100% needed. He feels much more fair to play as/against.

Since NOED can´t spawn on a Pentimento (hex) totem, i don´t think it will be a problem in the live version.
You might be right. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
-
She seems like she could use a few nerfs, but I haven't played her yet... so I can't be 100% sure.
-
@Tsulan said:
I think most people don´t really understand how Pentimento really works.
It has no effect unless you break a totem. With the current boon meta, its better to keep most totems alive.
IF you cleanse a totem, then Pentimento comes into play. So what do you do? Go back to the totem spot, that you cleansed and cleanse it again. After that, Pentimento is gone until someone cleanses a new totem.
The thing is... I can't control what my random teammates do. I also don't see boon perks in all of my games.
-
I think Hex: Pentimento is going to need some nerfs.

I'd say it's probably one of the more interesting killer designs in terms of power and looks in recent years, but hey, everyone has an opinion.
Yeah, I'm just not liking it. She is just too weird looking, lol.
-
Not really a fan of her character design or power. She's just very weird looking. Perks are interesting, though.

He was completely dependent on RNG.
In typical BHVR fashion, just like with Deathslinger, they nerf ######### without considering WHY it was good in the first place. The more consistent you are with getting Chain Hunts, the better Pinhead is. Without his Hunts, he's a slightly better Clown. He needed buffs.
Great way to kill the playerbase for a Killer. Make them mediocre, create a huge scandal by partnering with environment-nuking NFT's and then nerf the only usable add-ons.
People will still play him. Might be hard to believe, but I main him (along with Pig and Legion). I believe he'll be fine.

This. SoloQ is just so bad right now.

It was needed in my opinion. Some of the changes are even things that I have suggested when he released. He'll still be fine, just not as annoying to face.
-
I think this is a good thing. I even suggested some of these changes when Pinhead released. It was very unfun to deal with chain hunt for the entire game because of hoarder. Making it take less time to solve the box is great. I appreciate you guys listening to feedback and making changes 🙂

Look how many times they tried to deal with facecamping and got abused by survivors??? I wouldn't get your hope about this one. I'm just saying.
Oh, I know. I'm hoping it works this time 😆

@WolfyLegend123 said:
I will say only 1 thing about camping:
Stop complaining about it and get good. It is a bad strategy if your team does gens. And lastly there is no fix. The fact people complain about face camping is nothing new, you see complaints in other games about camping, but in dbd people are very VERY upset about it.
How can you get good if you're being camped, lol. I can run the killer for 5 gens, then get camped on first hook, but I somehow need to get better? The devs said recently that they are gonna try to deal with facecamping. It doesn't matter if your team escapes... the survivor that died had their game ruined. That's not fair.

So you think there’s nobody that just wants to have easy games and have the game completely balanced around their preferences? You don’t know this community that well.
I'm saying that I don't believe the majority of people think that way. Of course some people on both sides think like that.
-
I think the problem is that Spirit can move so quickly that it really doesn't matter even if you know where she's at. I don't think it's because people just want to bully her... I can see why people still find her annoying and unfun.

Sure, sure. So you say. But somehow it's ok for killers to have 3 hooks before the game is over 🤷. Sounds like a lot of fun
I don't really care what you think. I don't tunnel or camp and I usually do pretty well. Maybe you need to get better? Idk.

I wouldn't mind DS working after each hook state, IF the game was properly balanced.
But not with the current state of the game.
People asked for a additional objectives for survivors, in order to reduce the pressure on killers. What we got instead was a additional objective for killers which have already to little time and end up doing the most basic thing to "secure" a kill: camp.
The game could be more balanced for both sides, I agree. This is definitely something that could be tested, though.

Would you like an option to kick the killer in the balls as you tbag at the exit gate when every game is a 4k escape ?
I get it. You like to fall in to the "lulz survivor main here !" meme. But the people playing killer need wins as well.
What you're asking is EXTREMELY unrealistic on giving 12 chases and getting 12 downs before gens are popped in literally any match. No tunneling, camping, etc.
I’m actually not a survivor main. Camping/tunneling is a big problem. Killers can literally keep survivors from playing and ruin their games. This is something that happens in almost every game. DS is a anti tunnel perk and it needs to do it’s job better.
-
This is exactly what it needs. This would stop a lot of the tunneling that’s happening. :)

The complain threads about camping increased shortly after the Undying nerf. The DS nerf was later.
Oh and the devs showed survival rate with/without DS both before and after the nerf. They looked exactly the same.
I never had problems with camping/tunneling when Undying was nerfed. It got pretty bad after the DS nerf. I seen the survival rate. That doesn’t really mean much. I think DS should work twice. It’s an anti tunnel perk and it should do its job better than it currently does.

The "nerf" to DS made it work in exactly the same way if you are legitimately tunneling though
Not always. What about stealth killers? I thought I was safe against a GF and started to heal myself only to lose DS and get hooked again, lol. I never bring DS without Spinechill anymore. Like I already said: I think making it work twice will make it much better.

I think one use is enough. You can save it for your second hook if that helps.
It's meant to be an anti tunneling perk and it should do it's job better than it currently does.

DS didn't even get gutted. I run it a lot and it still works the same for me.
It really needs to work on both unhooks and I think it'll be fine.

@Irisora said:
The ones to blame are the devs not the few killers that still play this game sadly. Since boons and hit validation, specially DH validation killers are camping and tunneling from hook 1 considerably more than before.
You have arrived in a bad time to the game my friend. It wasn't like this before this patches, changes that clearly aren't healthy for the game as this are the consequences of devs bias.
That being said.. i highly doubt that the devs will step back with this changes. So if the they come with a solution to camping from hook 1 i can guarantee that it will damage the killer community even more, instead of finding an option that benefit both sides which should be the right choice.
And one of this options could be for example, balance the game so killers don't feel the need to do that anymore, because lets be clear, the only people that face camp are frustrated players cause there is no fun either as killer in doing that.
So balance should be the priority for a healthier and less toxic game, and only after that some punishment to face camping could be applied if still exist.
It's exactly the same for me. Camping/ tunneling has been pretty bad since the DS nerf (pretty obvious why killers wanted it gutted, lol). The only thing boons have made killers do (more) is abandon less chases so that survivor's don't get away and heal. That's the only difference I've noticed.

OBVIOUSLY, DH ISN'T A PROBLEM, NEITHER BOON TOTEMS, BUT RUIN HAD TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE TI WAS BROKEN; UNDYING ALSO HAD TO BE NERFED BECAUSE IT WAS TOO MUCH AND THINGS COULD "GET OUT OF HANDS" DESPITE USING A SIMILAR MECHANIC TO BOON TOTEMS, AND THRILL OF THE HUNT, FOR SOEM REASONS, WAS NERFED WHEN BOON TOTEMS GOT INTRODUCED BECAUSE....MMMM, YES? 🤔remember kids, suvivors perks are NEVER broken no matter what, only killers perk must be changed/balanced.
The only thing I said was DH is fine and using the perk isn't abusing it. How is that me saying survivor perks can't be broken? Lol
-
Neither. It's exactly the same for SB. You guys are just gonna have to deal with it. I don't have any problems with Dh when I play killer. SB is better imo. @Pulsar

Maybe when low-skill players use it.
The Dwight who Dead Hard's into a wall isn't the issue.
It's completely fine. I'd rather go against a team with 4 DH's than a team using SB... DH gives very little distance and can be used wrong (Dead hard into wall). SB can be used to make it to a window or pallet without getting injured (taking even longer to down them). DH does not need any changes.

The system is poorly thought out on Survivor side because escaping is NOT an accurate measure to determine if the Survivor is "good". The Claudette hiding in a bush all game is NOT better than the Dwight who died after doing 3 gens and looping the Killer for 5 minutes.
This. Yesterday I finished a gen, then looped the killer until my team finished the gens. Guess what? I eventually go down and my team instantly leaves me to die on my first hook. I was the best on my team (they went down super quick), yet I'm the one that is going down in mmr. 😀

🤣🤣
Far from busted if you ask me.
Destroy ruin and he starts to struggle more.
Get with 2 people on the gen an push ot out asap.
He comes to your gen while it's not finished?
So what?
He can only chase 1 and if he starts staying close to the gen, 2 others can push other gens.
He has to make the decision to either make sure that gen regress a lot and lose other gens.
Or leave that gen to pressure the other gens and losing that gen in the progress.
If he starts chasing 1 of you 2 than the other jumps back on the gen.
Remember your repair progress is faster than his regress progress.
I don't get it why people complain about others perks being OP/busted/to strong, while themselves are allowed to run the strongest perks on their side? 🤷🏼♂️
Just use whatever the game provides you and stop whining about 1 side
It's still busted in my opinion.

I don't really get it either. Almost every LF will camp.

I should write up a stock reply that I can copy and paste for this foolishness.
Listen well. Read carefully.
It is a *single survivor* taking out time to give their entire team an extra 2-4 powerful perks if they also have shadow step. The other survivors are progressing the objective just fine while the blessing is being done. The cost evaluation vis a vis time is heavily skewed in the blessings favor. Huge reward, not really any risk.
But killers can snuff it! You say. Waste of time in most circumstances. Even if you hook right next to a boon you're not patrolling gens. How many times have you hooked, gone to a gen you knew was being worked on and caught it at 90-99%? I get that frequently. If I stop to snuff a boon, that gen is popping in my face. That's discounting when a boon is out of the way. If it takes even five seconds to find, navigate to and snuff the boon then the survivor has come out ahead in the time equation. 5 killer seconds is 20 survivor seconds. Congratulations, you've successfully given the killer a side objective and come out on top in that interaction.
The healing meta is the new meta. Boons are the backbone of it. It kills an entire playstyle and weakens many already low tier killers. There needs to be meaningful counterplay to them.
I disagree. They aren't as powerful as you are saying. I don't even feel the need to snuff them as killer unless I'm close to them. They need no changes other than the ones I already mentioned. We'll just agree to disagree.
-
@Pulsar said:
People still take those stats seriously?
It's the only thing we really have. Killer mains on here would have you believe that playing killer is almost impossible and survivors are super OP. Yet, the stats say otherwise. Of course it's not 100% accurate, but surely the stats would show a lower kill rate if the game was that unbalanced... right? Idk. I personally think it's pretty balanced right now (solo's could even use a buff).
-
@YOURFRIEND said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2614285#Comment_2614285
Nope. It's still infinite medkits for the entire team regardless of range. A big part of killer gameplay is putting pressure on survivor resources and boons utterly destroy that aspect of the game.
Just limit them in some fashion. Tokens for blessings, destroying the totems. I don't care. No survivor resource should be infinite. I also don't care if it hampers hex perks to destroy the totems. That's just the price the killer pays.
Nah. They are fine. The survivor has to find a totem, then take the time to bless it (not to mention you have to be within 24m and plus the time it takes to heal). Killers can snuff them in like a second. The only changes needed are med kits and perks stacking. Doesn't matter if everyone can use it. It's only within 24m and time spent running to totem AND healing= time not spent doing gens. It's balanced.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2614285#Comment_2614285
How would tweaking their numbers make them useless? If you barely change the healing speed it would have no noticeable impact for instance. It’s all relative to the degree of the change.
It's only a 24m area. That's not huge. Changes aren't needed. Making healing perks and med kits not stack with CoH is actually a bigger change than you think. The perks alone are actually not OP.
-
@dugman said:
I don’t think you need to change how Boons work to balance them. Just tweak the specific Boons effect parameters or radius
- Circle of Healing, all you have to do is lower the healing speed if you need to weaken it
- Shadowstep, just reduce the radius of effect if you need to weaken it
That’s a much simpler approach to balancing these that doesn’t upend the whole Boon system in general for these and future Boons.
This would make them useless. I say just make it so med kits and healing perks don't stack with CoH. The boon perks would be 100% fine with these changes. I feel like nerfing them more than that would just make them way too weak. Everyone would just return to the same boring meta perks.

I still disagree with your statement. As long as killers are playing by the rules, they have every right to camp/tunnel. There is nothing lazy about it whether it's at 5 gens done or whatever.
Disagree. They can camp and tunnel all they want. Still makes it lazy.
