I hate Trickster so much! He doesn't even look like he belongs in this game and his power is super boring. One of the worst killers put in this game in my honest opinion.

CoH is fine. As Scott Jund said, they should simply cap self-healing rates. That's all they really need to do.
Agreed. The perk itself is 100% fine.

it is not lazy at all.
I disagree. Sure, sometimes it's absolutely necessary. A lot of killers will do it from the very beginning of the game because it's easiest thing to do, though. That's where it becomes lazy.

Make it one time use only. I won't bother how fast u can heal if u can do it only once and when u snuff it away it breaks instead of becoming dull again.
This would make them way too useless. No thanks.

I'd agree with that, but i'd still want something else. Like cooldown to CoH or totems are broken after being used few times.
Edit: I suck at typing
I don't really see the need for that if they make it so perks and medkits can no longer stack with it. You still need to set up boon perks (which takes a bit), be near them in order to heal and the killer can snuff them in like a second. I believe these perks will be 100% fine if they don't stack.

Ok so survivors want to keep CoH...lets nerf medkits and other healing stuff!
Just make it so it doesn't stack with CoH... problem solved.

@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
Don't even need to watch it to know that an infinite medkit for the while team that requires only 1 person to bring it is op
It isn't. It's medkits and other healing perks (stacking) that is making it pretty strong atm.

I think sales is also one if the reasons it took them 4 years to balance DS. I hope coh doesnt take that long -.-
I don't really believe the perk itself is OP. It's fine right now. Med Kits and other healing perks are what's making it seem too strong atm.

There are many perks allow you to heal with over 100% speed. Botany for +33, Desperate measures 56% ect... So of course there is no cap. But I believe the speed cap of everything should be limited to 200% (as no matter 1 or 2 survivors healing another in Coh will be 200%).
Though Coh should be nerfed down to allowing Self healing at 100% speed. Not requiring a teammate to heal you already giving massive advantage, this is why Self-care still considered a good perk in some cases.
This. CoH should just heal at 100% like you said (perks and medkits shouldn't affect it). I never use medkits or other healing perks with it anyway. I believe this will make CoH completely balanced.
-
Just make it so med kits can't be used with CoH. Fixed. It's not really a big deal.

And every time u are injured u can heal fast and for free. U don't distract your teammates from m1 gens, remember? It's much easier to prolong chases cause Iw + shadowstep confuses killer, remember?
Why u suddenly forget about infinite value your team gets from single perk. Kinda suspicious.
For free? No. You have to be near the totem and healing yourself also takes time away from working on gens.
EDIT: Not to mention the time it takes to find a totem, then bless it.
-
@Deferlo said:
Just like some youtuber said (maybe Scott?), the problem of CoH isn't the perk itself, it's the uncapped healing speed that allow those 4 sec heal. If you cap the speed at 100% or don't bring anything with it, it is a 16 sec infinite selfheal, which would still be strong but not that op i think.
I watched scott's video and I still think CoH is fine. You would have to dedicate your entire build around healing (plus a med kit) to get super quick heals like that. I haven't seen anyone do this. You're better off bringing perks like DH, BT, DS, etc. I'd actually be fine with them making it so perks and med kits don't affect it, though. I haven't watched the video OP posted, just posting my thoughts on the video Scott made.

I only play solo and I escape probably 60% - 70% of the time unless I'm screwing around with an archive.
Lucky. I wish I had your games.
-
Yep! Poor killers... they face SWF squads all day and have to resort to camping and tunneling in every game to even have a slight chance at winning. Poor things. 🙄
-
@Yamaoka said:
The devs mentioned they want to do something about camping so chances are the kill rates will drop further which will allow them to possibly add something to the game that slows gen progression down without messing up the total balance.
Right now they can't add a mandatory second objective for survivors because certain killers would just camp at 5 gens and then win at all times with no realistic counterplay.
But once they get rid of camping the devs could do something for the health of killer gameplay.
Agreed. If they somehow do something about tunneling and camping, THEN they could work on slowing the game down a bit more. I'd be fine with this.

@steamed_hamzzz said:
The ol’ hit and run, hook trading, fair game, GG’s all round play style is just not possible anymore, not with the sorry state that killer games are in
gens are flying faster than the speed of light, heals are lightning fast and infinite with boons, scratch marks and none existent
it’s just not viable anymore to switch targets and “play fair”
with each update tunnelling and camping become more and more necessary just to confirm at least one kill before the final generator pops, without it most killers just can’t apply enough pressure on teams, with the exception of certain killers. Blight, Nurse ect
do the devs honestly believe this is fair? Or fun for killers in that regard. I don’t want to tunnel and camp, but if I’m playing an M1 killer against toolbox’s, Prove Thyself, Brand New Part’s, Boons and other meta perks then I don’t really have a choice do I?
This was a thing before boons. Lets not use that as an excuse. :)
-
Don't you just love these forums?
-
Killer isn't as hard as people say. They want to tunnel and camp, not because they have to, but because it's the easiest thing to do. Just lazy.
-
@Hannacia said:
I don't really get why you people are having such bad time in solos. I've had some of my best games there.
Have to agree though camping and tunneling usually comes to play in SWFs since its hard to get that 1-2 kills with them otherwise, but again soloQ arent all full potatoes. I've had super hard time as a killer killing anyone when ive gotten solos against me as well.
I wish I had your solo games, lol! I have the complete opposite.
-
@Exxodus21 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/292349/swf-is-necessary
Camping and tunneling is a result of SWF. Sadly, most things that are wrong with this game are due to SWF and the devs not taking it into consideration when building the game.
Killers will do this against anyone, not just survivors that are SWF. They'll tunnel, camp, and slug at 5 gens even if it's obvious they are going against bad/solo players. It's no wonder people play SWF... Solo is almost unplayable.
-
People will still play killer no matter what. Same for survivors.
-
@Myla said:
I'm a strong killer that regularly gets 4K and I win most of my matches. Only time I lose is I get a 4 man SWF and that's rare. Not every match is a 4 man navy seal making full use of their 4 meta perks unlike people here are leading you to believe that is the case.
Shocking I know.
I keep saying this over and over. People are not facing swat squads every single game (unless maybe you're at the very highest MMR). Most people are not at the top, though. People just love to exaggerate on here. Nothing new.

That's your experience then. Mine is completely different, it's rare to see a game without at least two people using boons. "Most people seem to be going back to their META perks" Like you can't use boons with meta perks. As I said you only need two perk slots to cover half of the map, all the other 14 can be usual meta things.
They don't require that much set up time. Unless you're blessing a hex they take the same amount of time of cleansing.
The "1 second" is only the animation. You're not taking into account searching the boon, sometimes having to drop a chase, and also the pressure the killer may have lost with survivors healing in 8 seconds.
"It's best to just do gens". No, it's better to heal in 8 seconds and then do gens.
I completely disagree. Boon perks are fine. Working on gens is more important. I can't tell you how many times I've died because my teammates keep blessing totems instead of doing gens. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this.

@Johnny_XMan said:
Yes it’s fine.
I’ve gathered that pretty much only players who get annoyed by it think otherwise.

Most teams I've played against/with since the update have at least two boons, sometimes even more. Considering only one is meaningless to the discussion because you can always set up more.
I haven't seen nearly as many in my games now. Most people seem to be going back to their META perks. I don't believe boon perks are OP (even more than one). They just take way too much time to set up and can be snuffed in like 1 second. It's best to just do gens.

I will just throw some numbers here. A circle of 24m radius has an area of 1808m², and the average map size is 9000~10000m². So a single Boon covers almost 20% of a map. If you consider that every map has a certain parts of it that are never really used (the parts where you usually have Z walls), two Boons can easily cover half of a map.
I'm talking about 24m (one boon). It's not a huge area. Of course more than one is going to create a bigger area.
-
@HawkAyeTheNoo said:
Im not sure wether boons are op or not but what i will say is many survivors are wasting time playing with totems rather than doing gens, surely a positive for killer.
They aren't. Most survivors just waste time relighting totems instead of doing gens. It really does help the killer.

24m is huge.
Killer still has to go out of his way to look for the totem and then kick it.
24m isn't that big. Survivors have to be pretty close to get any use out of it.

They are not destroyed by a killer they are just snuffed out and can be reapplied to the totem. If the totems get destroyed by the killer when he snuffs there actually wouldn't be a issue or as many complaints.
The perks would have to be buffed in others way if they make this change.

Bro, it's 14secs for a 24m aoe heal that anyone can use.
Thay is not a waste of time at all. Especially if you have it in an area away from the gens. So either the killer wastes his time and pressure chasing you away from the active gens or you hold w and go boon heal up in 16seconds(or less if you have a medkit or bot).
24m isn't a huge area. It's a waste of time when the killer can hear it a mile away and can take it out in like a second. It's better to work on gens

Killers have a valid reason to complain,one hex cleansed that’s it,infinite uses of boons and that’s fair,your talking nonsense.🤦♀️
They aren't OP and can be destroyed in like a second. Yeah, that's fair. I personally don't even feel like they are worth the time to set up. Just better off working on gens instead.

IMO the first thing which should be looked at - is it possible to do on all Platforms? If not, it should be considered an exploit and fixed. Like, anything which messes with DPI should not be in the game because it is unavailable for console players. And this already shows that it is not intended.
For the rest, I dont really know what those techs mean, I probably know what the Blight player is doing in those scenarios, but I dont know which name describes which tech. But I feel if all of those would be removed, Blight would still be an S-Tier Killer, since he still has that insane mobility and can do some stuff at Loops.
Bringing up Nurse is a weak argument IMO, just because a design failure exists and will never be fixed, does not mean that other things should stay in the game.
You always make great posts on here and I agree with pretty much everything you say. I say remove the techs as well. Blight will still be an awesome killer without these.

@Dustin said:
Boon totems are broken as ######### on maps with multiple floors. They need to go on a massive cooldown when broken by the killer because otherwise it's not worth going out of your way to break them even if you know where they're at.
I genuinely hate boon totems. Feels like quality of games are worse because of them.
I'd agree if most maps were indoors. Most maps are outdoors, so I don't really see a problem here. You can still see blood if they are injured as well.

no it would make them high risk/reward like hexes.
Not really... The killer can snuff the totem in like 1 or 2 seconds and it's pretty loud as well (not to mention it takes a lot of time to set it up as survivor). It would definitely need some other buffs somewhere.
-
@Nathan13 said:
when killers snuff the totem than that totem should be destroyed.
I feel like this could make them bad. They'd need some other buffs.

They aren't OP at all. I'm even seeing a lot of survivors switching back to their old meta perks. Killers really have no reason to complain.

I think they'll make it so that when a Killer kicks a boon, the totem breaks. Which is reasonable, if you ask me.
As long as they make the totem harder to locate (sound) AND take longer to destroy, then I'll be fine with it.
