Necromorphs are from Dead Space, not Alien, In Alien they're called Xenomorphs

(i am sorry but for the sake of my brain i had to correct it)

    ######### you're right lol.

I've been playing a board game (nemesis) that is basically Alien (very awesome game) and one of the enemies is called necromorphs which further mixed me up.

    I'm ashamed lol

  • To preface, I loveeeee the Alien franchise. Aliens is in my top 3 favorite movies.

Now with that, I don't think Alien should/would come in for a variety of reasons in (no particular order)

    1. Disney- they are very greedy and reluctant to let others use their properties. Alien has historically been an expensive license before Disney owned them and even now I could see Disney demanding a higher pay than any of the previous chapters sadly

    2. Gameplay- there are a number of gameplay questions that come up

2A. Walls/ceiling climbing- one of xenomorphs biggest attributes is that they climb and crawl on walls. Adding this would be pretty demanding on the game design which could lead to a lot of problems. To not be able to do this would be a significant change in the character

2B. Hooks- xenomorphs have never submitted to another being and there is no reason to believe they would submit to the entity since they are hive mind oriented. This also leads to xenomorphs being focused on infecting others which gives them even less reason to use hooks since that goes against their primary goal. Finally, aliens would genuinely look kind of weird carrying people to hooks.

    3.lore related

3A. See 2B for some lore related issues as well in regards to working with entity and hooks

3B. Space theme- xenomorphs would genuinely be out of place since they are almost exclusively in space type areas where nothing in the game remotely resembles that (maybe Hawkins).

Alien is a great property but it just doesn't really belong tbh. There is a better chance with Predator honestly but even that isn't super likely

  • I hope they reappear but at this point they are all pretty old so they may never return sadly

Thats fair, I also wanna see him in his own main line game, just wanna see Hunk in another game in some sort of way

Yeah i totally agree. It's so weird to me we never hear about him, Billy Coen, and Rebecca Chambers hardly ever again.

  • Man I like HUNK a lot but I don't think he would be a great choice. Him being covered on body armor and being very combat trained just wouldn't feel like a great fit in this game. He is probably less believable than any of the other re characters imo

Now I do want him to come in RE again though in a significant way

    Sorry for the late response

But his VR and UR add-ons are really weak, but his Greens and below are amazing and are worth using

Ohh okay. I thought you was meaning his addons are op. I'll have toccheck him out more for sure

  • I'm guessing we'll get another pass on about 6 killers like this recent ptb

    oni slight nerf

    spirit Big nerf

Deathslinger mix of buff and nerf

    Myers addon pass and buff

    Pig rework and addon pass

    Trickster buff

  • I'm gonna do 3 each

Maps: the game and both swamps. Just unfun for either side imo. Gameplay on then isn't very interesting having super stealth as survivor and against as killer

Killers: pre ptb freddy. Feels like a waste of time to wake yourself up.

Oni-dont like that blood bubbles constantly drop no matter what you do. Wish you could stand in one spot and they wouldn't drop (and allow self care). Leatherface- I've just faced a lot of camping ones that make the game unfun, especially top of basement camping

Calling it now and mark my words. They will nerf Oni next or Blight.

Oni I think is pretty likely. Him and Deathslinger haven't been touched since they launched. Oni does feel slightly oppressive but not gamebreakingly bad

  • It happens to be the case that most of my favorite killers are among the weakest like clown and myers (which I hope they eventually get buffs).

I don't like picking the strongest some because it feels too easy to win with a good killer and having an inevitable change does make me more reluctant to put in time with them if I know they could either be totally different or too weak. Plus, I dont love playing a killer that I would personally hate to face. Feels a bit hypocritical to do imo

  • @Hoodied said:

No, I know eventually Pyramid Head will get his add-on pass, and I will still stick with Pyramid Head, not because power, but because he is pyramid head

I don't like Trickster because he is frustrating to play as due to his 110% movement speed on a power that literally doesn't work at shack, hence why my mains are usually 115% killers or a killer whos power has strength

However if P-head gets an add-on pass please change his UR and VR's, nobody willingly uses goblet

I've only recently started playing pyramid head but are his addons that strong? His, to me, seem almost on the weak side of things but I may be wrong.

  • Huh but why 2?

Really that my question. Why not 1 or 3 worst of each lol

Everyone uses BBQ. Should it be nerfed?

A perk being used a lot doesnt mean it is op and needs a nerf.

Although I largely agree with you, I do think it does lead to an issue (BBQ is kind of a special case imo).

A perk being used the most does indicate other perks are not useful enough to run over that popular perk. This could mean that 1. The one popular perk could be too strong and needs a nerf or 2. The other perks just aren't strong and need buffs.

Something like BT I'd put in the first category (even pre ptb it was most used perk).

Id put BBQ in the second category (although like I said it's a special case imo)

  • I really hate that they removed the only potential to counter BT and it now is a perk there is no reason not to run. It's way too strong now.

OoO I feel neutral on. I have to mess with both old and new more. I never used it really

    Small game changes are cool.

Demo seems largely going in the right direction. He wasn't great before and now his addons are a bit better

Huntress I wasn't that bothered her hatchets before honestly. I think it was slight overkill and should have been 2 cap at 2 instead. Her addon changes were either pointless or bad aside from hatchets.

Trickster is at least a little better but he still needs more like ricochet.

Twins nerf wasn't needed on them really. The 5 second delay is wayyy too long

Freddy got way over nerfed. He wasn't that bad before tbh. Instead of trying to encourage new play styles they just nerfed everything on him (other than teleports) which just makes him do the same thing before but a lot less good. They should have buffed something to change his play if that's what they wanted. I dont see any reason to use him now. Bottom 5 killer now. He needed some adjustments before but not nuke him entirely

    Open handed changes are solid

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

Strongest- Nurse (with spirit slightly behind)

Weakest- Pig due to lack of end game, no chase game, and rng can screw you regardless of your skill. Rng is generally a weakness in most games

You could play an entire game essentially perfect and still lose due to rng

  • Give new add on

    -Chop chop

    Traps permantly amputate survivors leg.

There now he is A Tier

  • 1 hook moris are fine to me honestly. They do impact the game some yes but as they are now there is literally no reason to use them (you actually do worse in every way using them)

  • I think it should have either been distance based or just chased for particular things like Freddy.

This most strongly effects stealth killers which were the weakest killers in the game anyways.

This perk was already very strong before this buff. You can cover a lot of distance in 12 seconds which will now are hooks after gate is open borderline pointless since a survivor will get unhooked, have up to 12 seconds of invincibility, they will get a speed burst from hit, and many likely have an exhaustion perk so they will get out.

Id say some possible changes should be (maybe even just one of these changes)

-be triggered within a certain range

-limit the number of times bt is available (every survivor getting essentially 1-3 invincibility hits each game is too much)

-seperate the perk with one giving same effect before last gen and one being after last gen

-have BT automatically turn off when within a certain range of exit.

As it is now there is no reason to not run this perk and it's a must have perk (unless swf where you can coordinate saves more). This is probably the decision I disagree with the most from BHVR

I play both sides evenly bust to clarify. I just dont like that they made an amazing perk lose its one downside and it has no downsides at all now

  • I'm well behind the first 3 but I'd still be into being interviewed

  • Strongest- Nurse (with spirit slightly behind)

Weakest- Pig due to lack of end game, no chase game, and rng can screw you regardless of your skill. Rng is generally a weakness in most games

what makes it too strong if I may ask?? That it activates no matter where the killer is??

That and you can cover a lot of distance in 12 seconds. Either the time should be decreased a good bit or there should be a max range for BT to trigger or limit number of times a survivor can benefit from it. I dislike perks that give conditionless free hits

  • @Nathan13 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2127337#Comment_2127337

The BT change was much needed because it didn't work against stealth killers and it should've always been like this. The only possible change I could see adjusting this perk is make it activate if the killer is within 25-30 meters of the hook.

I feel fine with (outside of Freddy's weird stuff) Stealth killers getting that buff. All of them are among the weakest killers in the game and this just further makes them weaker. BT should have changed for Freddy for sure but now it's just too strong. Id prefer it be distance based and not terror radius

  • -Add 10 more seconds to gens

    - decrease rate of toolboxes repair but lengthen their lifespan (so all together you get slightly more progress than they are now but not a ton). I just hate that the go away almost immediately.

-basic kicks should like 10% off with regression same speed as base single survivor repair. Way too minimal now

Yes this is primarily in killers favor but I think gens are too fast and it sucks that you must take a gen regression perk to do anything to gens. Right now kicking is basically pointless without pop.

Sure gens aren't the most exciting thing to do but the game would likely need to change a lot in order to have other objectives with a number of perks changing to accommodate a new objective. If you had to find parts in chests let's say, then maybe it could be interesting but I assume this would lead to killers camping parts

  • Yeah this happened me the worst last night qhere I had deathslinger hit me AFTER pallet went down be a half second and they didn't look close enough to hit me either (I didn't expect the pallet to be close enough to hit even) but they hit me and didn't get stunned. Crazy

  • For real though, people forget to consider how the other side feels (not just I'm this game but kinda life in general). We by nature are self protective and have a victim mentality and neglect to consider the other person. It's a shame.

    Obviously I'm a counselor lol

Oh well if you haven't yet, i recommend it.

I wouldn't say it'll blow your mind, but i think it's a nice change of pace from everything else.

If you'll try it, do prepare for...mediocre graphics. It's not ugly, but you'd notice it's not a new game.

Lol thanks for the heads up. I need to give it, evil within, and Outlast a try although I did play a good bit of outlast. I've played just about all of the other major horror games

  • Id throw pig at the bottom due to rng nature where you can only top off at a certain level since you can't control that and she is the only killer with no gameplay after last gen is done. Everyone can do what she does after last gen and better.

  • @Boss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2127538#Comment_2127538

    Ehh, i wouldn't say so.

It plays like a more fluid RE4 which i enjoy, but given how insanely narrative-based it is, once you've played it once, you've played it forever.

The light mechanic is a neat idea when enemies ambush you in earlier levels, but it'll get tedious to have to beam everything when waves of enemies hit later on.

Would still love an Alan Wake 2 though.

Interesting. Yeah ive considered giving it a try but just never had a chance

  • All these years and you still haven't changed Sluzzy, huh?

The maps are much better overall. Id say it's more a killer nerf than survivor nerf

  • @Boss said:

Still think Alan Wake would make a great Survivor-only Paragraph.

I mever played much Alan Wake. Worth going back to?

10 years from now are more believable than 5 tbh. This game has LOL potential.

I highly doubt that. Dbd has recently just hit 25million accounts ever playing the game (hard to tell monthly count) while LOL has 115 million players playing each month.

Dbd is a much more shallow game than LOL in every facet honestly. This game is already getting close to knocking out all of the major licenses where some probably won't ever happen anyways. I doubt the same level support will be given even 5 years from now

I honestly find that to be quite suspicious. No one would be mad for tending your pets if they are in need of help. I'd really like to see the chat for that.

I've went afk multiple times because I have pets, one of them that were elderly, and never got flamed for it.

I totally believe it can happen. I've had similar experiences in a variety of games

  • @Bangarang said:

Just played a few matches. I’d say around 6? As my last match was loading I could hear my dog choking on something downstairs so I did what most people would do and rushed downstairs. When I came back up I was just being carried around the map by a Trickster. 2 people were dead and another person was injured and being chased by the killer and my poor David lol. I noticed one of the dead survivors was a TTV so I opened their stream to see if they were live and they were. Obviously she and her friend were insulting me saying I am a crybaby who went AFK for being the Obsession. I’m sorry but, since when was that a thing?! 🤣

She then files an endgame report about me and says I was and I quote “deliberately not struggling or recovering to purposely aid the killer” LMAO.

I went into her chat to explain that I was AFK because my dog was choking and I had to tend to him and she says that it wasn’t her problem and she then thanked me for ruining her last match of the day and said people like me are what’s wrong with the community. She then blocked me before I could say anything else.

So you’ve heard it here first folks, if your pet is choking, you must let them die in order to spare the TTV’s feelings.

  • I've seen this happen with Bubba on a couple maps. It's very frustrating and I'd consider toxic personally since there isn't any actual way to counter it. (I wasn't on hook either) but to have 2 of your teammates wiped out before 1 gen is done is just not fun for anyone involved and should change. Camping I ngeneral I don't love but I can upstanding more than blocking a path. I'd much rather face an insidious Bubba since you at least have some potential of countering it while bodyblocking basement you can't do anything about

I’m a veteran player but I would still say I’m a casual player. I want to win, but I’m not a complete sweat who has to stack every second chance perk on top of each other, bring strong items and burn map offerings to win. And then when I don’t win, go off on a tirade. They’re the players I was referring to. It’s not really about being a veteran or not.

I’ve been playing for almost 5 years now, so I have plenty of experience. But for some people, DBD and gaming in general is their life. They act as though you’re personally hurting them when you hit / hook their survivor. It’s ridiculous.

I personally enjoy playing with perks I find fun to use, not ones that necessarily make the game easier for me. I find it more satisfying escaping chases and surviving trials without Dead Hard etc. Whereas a lot of players bring every second chance perk they can think of and when they win, sit in the exit gate waiting to taunt the killer. Those types of sweats are who make the game less fun.

Yeah id put myself in a similar category but would just say I'm non competitive gamer but that's just an argument over semantics. Yeah the ultra competitive players just don't make the game very fun either imo

  • It's seems very likely it will be some sort of Raccon City related map (somewhere from the entire area)

    1. The umbrella charm does seem to hint that the map will be when umbrella is still very active (somewhere from re0-re3).

    2. These are the most iconic locations in the entire series (with re4 village being right behind)

    3. The clovers (I still can't seem to find the game note) are talked about in one of the game notes that were a sign of mutations in the racoon city area (more specifically the arklay mountains).

All potential maps for re chapter (not all are necessarily super likely)

    - Mansion

    - Arklay Mountains forest

    -Raccoon City Streets

    -Raccoon Coty Police Station

    - Raccoon City Hospital

    - Racoon City Orphanage

    - Raccoon City Sewers

    - NEST (any of them)

    -Train (the one from 0)

The first 4 seem the most likely imo.

  • Yeah id be into something basekit for this even if it was super minimal (like a 3m range) and increased blood streaks from crawl. No one likes just bleeding out on the ground when the game is over

  • @Bangarang said:

The people who play this game like their life depends on it are what makes this game hard to enjoy at times. The people that’ll message you to say they hope your parents die. THOSE PEOPLE are what’s wrong with this game. Not the casual gamers who are playing to try to have fun.

Yeah those people are terrible. I honestly feel like I see that from more casual players. Casual in the sense of people who don't play all that much. More veteran players, from my experience, are more understanding when things don't go their way. I could be totally wrong though.

Personally I view casual players as those who don't play as often and just pick up the game every so often not so much if someone is competitive or not. Both casual players should still have fun and be accounted for in the game one way or another but the more occasional player shouldn't have as much influence on a games balance imo

(Jusy to clarify being casual is totally fine and I'm in no way trying to talk down to casual players)

  • It's especially annoying getting messages post game about it but a lot of the time it ends in a decent convo where I tell them to look at it from my perspective that I literally had nothing else to do lol

  • Survivors have had their meta pretty well defined for years now. All of the top perks now are the same ones used years ago. I took a 2 year break and didn't change my David King build and noticed that most people in my games were running most of the same build I was running.

I just dont think there are very many options left for "meta"perks for survivors that aren't totally busted. The survivor meta has stayed the same for a longgggg time and I don't see it changing much ever. There are the few random perks that get some use but most of the older ones are still used the most.

I think a lot of the "meta" perks need looked at in order to help encourage more diverse play. I'm happy DS got adjusted but the BT change I hope doesn't go through from the ptb since it will be a must have perk (im not a fan of must have things in a game) since it was already very strong. Less popular perks should get buffs but the meta perks I think need slight nerfs at least

  • Getting called camper when the entire team is surrounding a hook. Do you just want a free unhook? Where am I going to go since you are all right here
