I've had a lot of games lately where a teammate at start drops pallet on my face and I get downed by killer. Those are times I actively screw over that particular survivor later in the match
-
Honestly I kind of wish something countered the endurance effect, even if it was rare. Tbh I think anything that is always a one hit down should Trump endurance
-
Certainly killer. There is a lot of bs that happens as killer honestly and the game is often not fun as killer. Survivor has a few things that are frustrating but overall its not that bad
-
Good rule of thumb is if you have to ask what you're doing banable and if it does seem scummy, it probably is.
Although that particular survivor didn't seem that bothered most would he very upset by this.

I don't think good freddys will really notice a difference. Especially if survivors still arnt spamming alarm clocks. But even pre-nerf...I just base my opinions off "what for groups can they deal with ?" And freddy can easily be beat. Hell...I lost to a SWF that all was running sprint burst, spine chill, fixated...Just held W and pre dropped safe pallets. It took SO long to catch them. Get a hit. Then catch them again. It was rediculous. And to me that's kinda low tier when you don't even really have to put in effort to beat him. And if you get a strong group who actually know how to loop, etc. The results arnt much better.
Hell. I feel like Oni is a better killer then freddy. And that pains me because I am a freddy main.
Yeah I felt like he was a bit overblown on being too strong. Honestly I think he just needed his sleep time changed and that alone makes everything else weaker but I think he is bottom 5 killers now tbh

Freddy is not low tier, but cool.
Although, post ptb he has a good chance of being low tier honestly. They basically just made him worse at everything. Devs said they want him to be more tactful with traps...but the rest of his kit isn't conducive to it. He has less traps, slow to use them, traps don't do as much, and survivors can stay awake much more which further makes his traps weaker.
He needed some tweaks but this was kinda overkill tbh

I never been a huge fan of, balancing things around one character (that's why i don't really like streat fighter, everyone it's balanced around Ryu, which it's annoying since i hate that character) but that could probably work
Yeah I generally don't like it either but I think this is a special case that's pretty reasonable

Me too, that's why i like to face him, and oni over spirit and nurse, because if they're good, then I'm dead, if they're bad, then I'm gonna escape, in both this situation it will he a quick match.
Hot take- killers should be balanced around Pyramid Head where some killers could use some nerfs, a lot could use some buffs, and be designed to be a little more unique like he is. I think he is still a trong killer but not broken and plays unique enough that is fun for both sides

Myers would think that's hot, lol
So would me mum
-
Doubtful. It would take a lot of work to get it in (even though it doesn't sound like it would). Plus there are already ways to do it somewhat (record them yourself with a program or with playstation if you use that).
Id love to be able to use a free roam camera to analyze the match/start/stop the game etc but it won't happen

A good pyramid head its probably one of the scarier things in dbd, but i stil prefer him over deathslinger
Yeah he does scare me the most despite a few killers being better typically. With someone like spirit I'm just like "okay... I'm probably going to die. Oh well" where as Pyramid Head toes a fine line of hope/hopelessness and is one of the most menacing killers imo (Oni is also terrifying)
He is my only good main

Since when pyramid head its a low tier killer?
Yeah definetly not low tier. He isn't the best but definitely top 25%
-
I unintentionally play almost exclusively low rank killers but Myers is my favorite of the ones I use (myers, wraith, and clown).
-
You can still do very well without paying a dime
For example, last night I got a 4k against red ranks and double pipped with Trapper (arguably the worst killer) with insidious, sloppy butcher, pop (you can get with shards quickly), and noed. Stopped them at 2 gens left.. I havent played Trapper in years but still did well with him. I'm not an amazing player by any means either. Everything outside of Pop is free and you can get pop (or clown) free through shards

Remove the licensed characters, would be a start.
Hear me out:
Licenses consistently have to be renewed, and especially konami and now capcom are absolutely vile when it comes to that. so a lot of money now goes into the licenses
Let the license run out and replace the licensed characters with proxies, respectively remove those that already have (better) proxies altogether.
I know lotsa people would hate it, but it'd allow for cheaper cosmetics and general better stuff.
Didn't mean to quote and I can't delete lol
Anyways this is more Play To Win if anything. You have to play a ton to get everything, which yes the grind is a lot but everyone has had to do it without shortcuts. The grind should change but it's nice that it's an even playing field and people who play more should be given more
-
Pay to win? No.
Is the grind too much? YES

I think keys should only be used when all the gens are done. and yes we should decrease the odds of keys spawning in chests.
Honestly I feel the strongest about being single survivor use since keys have way more of a team impact as an item compared to all other items which shouldn't be the case. At most, items really only impact one other survivor at a given time while keys effect your entire team for a significant amount of time
-
@Nathan13 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2133036#Comment_2133036
the problem I have with keys is you can instantly open the hatch in the killer's face and there's not a thing they can do. That's why we need a 5-10 second animation so the killer has a chance to defend the hatch.
Yeah I think keys needs a 10 second unlock, chests should drastically decrease key spawns, keys open and close on the single survivor, and hatch should only spawn if 2 gens are done at least.

go after other survivors maybe?? I've had a scenario happen to where I went after an unhooker at EGC and only got one kill. I don't ever tunnel people fresh off the hook no matter what. Is that stupid?? Maybe to some people but I just try to be fair.
I think it's also important to consider what is fair at the edc. Here's a scenario i had happen last month.
On Haddonfield as Myers. Killed 2 survivors (with hooks. Wasn't running tombstones) with 2 gens done. I found the last two and downed them both. One I hooked and as I went to get the other survivor the first survivor unhooked themselves first try (no perks or offerings to buff luck/guarantee unhook). I down them again, grab them, they have ds, I get stunned and look up to them opening hatch with a key and the other survivor was laying on hatch and also got out. How is this fair?
Just to clarify, I don't expect you to say that's fair but I do think situations like this really puts into question which side is screwed the most

I'm not saying to run the whole build, but NOED/bloodwarden is a good combo and it's turned the game around for me at a crucial moment.
Both are not very good honestly, largely due to keys nullifying the entire build.

I'm not being malicious toward you. But you have to admit that asking the Killer to chase other Survivors during the endgame when the Survivors basically have the option to leave the game whenever they want is very poor strategy.
I agree with this, although I feel much more strongly about BT since it has multiple activations, gives you a speed burst, and seems like (with the ptb) it will always trigger no matter what.
Ds annoys me but I'm not that bothered overall by it now. Now BT on the other hand is much more of a free escape at end. It should be divided into 2 perks with one being only end game while the other is before last gen

I tend to get more SWF's red rank games at night and they're usually a pretty well coordinated team.
Yeah and that's a whole other issue that, frankly, won't ever change in this game since it's so reliant on things outside the game. There isn't a good way to balance swf because swf with coms is more impactful than any adjustments you could make in game. Knowledge is very strong (which is why some of the most powerful perks are knowledge perks)

I just wanna clarify I play both sides. Sorry if i'm trying to sound entitled.
To preface, if you don't thats totally fine but do you play them about evenly at similar ranks? I'm just curious
I generally argue more in favor of killers despite playing both a lot due to seeing that game just isn't all that fun for killers often times (not that killers need to win or be stronger necessarily) but I can see a lot more reasons why people are reluctant to play killer over survivor. Survivors have unfun things to deal with (camping for example) but killers have a lot more annoyances (aside from the nature of having to deal with 4 moving targets of course) and the fact there are so few killers indicates people in general don't like being killer. I just want changes implemented to make people want to play killer at least somewhat more regardless of wins

So what am I supposed to do to try and get a kill during the endgame when there are no more gens to be done?
Honestly your options are mostly slug or take the L which I can't blame killers not wanting to have happen most of the time at the end

DS was already nerfed to the ground so that's not happening.
Definetly not nerfed to the ground. Nerfed to the ground implies its worthless (like old old freddy was at launch). It got at least a somewhat reasonable nerf and is still very strong

You didn't answer my question. Is it my fault for tunneling and getting stunned, or is it my fault for not tunneling and not being able to stop the Survivor from escaping?
Arguing with survivor mains can be (granted not all of them) rather pointless. I remember one guy openly admitting that killers should lose because 4 survivors should have more fun and beat a killer and who cares about cares.
I play both pretty evenly and been in red rank for both for both consistently when I've played and never use DS. It's an unnecessary perk imo. There are already anti tunnel options in the game.

In order to get DS'd you have to be hard tunneling.
Granted in most instances yes but not necessarily. I've had times where I down the unhooked, down the Dser, hook the unhooker, and then pick up dser.l, then get dsed. Honestly in those situations, although I admittedly don't feel super strongly about it, should also cancel DS regardless of remaining time
-
Yeah i plan to only give one survivor all perks for now and then give my killer main all perks Then go to other killers

"You already get multiple BT use" .... as you should. Also where are you coming at with these numbers of multiple hits? We're talking about DS, just don't tunnel off hook, easy.
I'm saying even if a killer is being a total tool that's still way too much to expect a killer to deal with. It sucks when a killer tunnels and camps against you but multiple DS would certainly further decrease killer population which is already small.
-
Nooooooo.
You already get multiple BT use (which I personally think is too much) and to have multiple use DS is too much. Assuming each triggers each time and survivor gets a full heal after each hook and killer gets 3 hooks, a killer has to hit a single survivor 10 times to kill them (2 instances of Bt, 2 after DS, and 6 basic hits after full heal after hook). This would then mean that a killer easily have to do 40 hits each game. That's too much
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
I'd like Slippery Meat to be rehashed. Change it from hook escape attempts to reducing the time it takes to escape the killer whilst being carried.
Personally I'd change it to have a much higher chance of escape but you have a mend meter after escaping that's a fast meter as well.
-
I agree it's a little Overrated. Losing the killer is nice but you essentially dedicate almost your entire build to that (LB, IW,and most likely DH with BT also probably picked). It's good but not THAT good. This is likely how most builds will look and it makes chases annoying but not unwinnable. Killer can run something like Spies to counter most of it. Id love survivors to run this build against me

Haven't tried resistance. I think evolve was fantastic from gameplay aspect (they just shot themselves in the foot with dlc practices).
I hope dbd generates ai or peer to peer matchmaking before the end of it's run.
It had some issues with balancing tbh but it was a fun time still. I kinda hope it comes back somehow. The dlc was probably the most shady dlc situation I've seen lol.
If you can get resident evil 3 (especially for cheap if you aren't keen on RE) then give resident evil resistance a try. You can still play it but it doesn't have any new content coming (for now at least. There is a rumor it may get more support after reverse releases) but I believe balances are still a thing. I loved it
-
I kinda doubt it. I don't think it's malicious or anything but I'm sure they get flooded with stuff all the time (most of the suggestions bad I'm sure)
-
Man I liked Evolve but it was too money focused and lacked variety...sadly. it had potential.
Resistance is probably the closest to dbd imo. Again, had potential but marketed poorly, poor communication from devs, and lacked much longterm support. I still lthink it could have been a genuine threat to dbd given time
